I need to clear something up. This IS a PINK Shiny, right?

Because something happened to me a few months ago before Scarlet and Violet released and it still baffles me.

Shortly after the Pokédex and subsequently all Paldea Shiny Pokémon were leaked, I mentioned how happy I was that Pawmot's Shiny was pink.

Cue a bunch of people downvoting me and insisting that I was wrong. Shiny Pawmot wasn't pink, it was clearly (and I quote) "Iron Man red".

And I thought that can't be right. On first glance it reminded me of Hoppip or Snubbull or Luvdisc, that shade of pink. Then I realised it was practically an identical shade of pink to Shiny Virizion:

So I linked an image I made of Pawmot pasted over Virizion and, to be honest, it looked camouflaged. But that got downvoted too so I don't know what was going on?

Why were people so vehemently against Pawnot being pink that they tried to convince themselves that it wasn't and argued with people who provided evidence that it is pink?

I was always accepting when it comes to Pokémon designs. But omg Pawmo and Pawmot infuriate me..(Especially Pawmo.) Literally Pawmos a Paw that’s on twos and has desaturated fur. At least damn Pawmot had a more different body shape. 😤

Here’s what I think they should look like in my vision.

I tried making Pawmots body fur look a bit like a leotard since it’s part fighting and stuff, plus it’s cheek thingys look like bandages whilst Pawmos looks a bit like eye black except yellow, so I guess…Eye yellow? Ick. Anyway, To all other Fakemon artists out there who want to make a great mon with a great evolution line. Heed my word! Never take example from the Pawmi line!! 🤬

Now that all the short Poketoons are out I gotta say I'm disappointed at their short concept as a whole.

Poketoons are so so fun to watch with all their different art styles and stories and such and making half of them just a minute long only is so disappointing especially the last two shorts that had a fun story. I think the Ducklett one could've gone on for five or so more minutes and maybe the Capsikid one could've been a full 20 minutes or so. Like a fake pilot for a possible shojo Pokemon anime rather than just a fake ad for one.

The Pawmi and Clodsire ones feel very appropriate for the short format but I don't know, they don't feel like Poketoons to me. They just feel like usual Pokemon shorts that they upload to their youtube channel like Pokepeace or those Pokeminutes shorts. Cute but you'll forget about them later.

IDK man. I'm hoping if that there is a season 3 of Poketoon they just make them all full length stuff again.

If we ever get another PMD with a brand new story, what Pokemon would you choose for hero and partner?

*if ur talkin like, options for people in the game, then i think it'd be ok to limit the number of starters (as much as it'd suck), but I'm not sure how so.

*it'd be fun to do like... a random assortment in the style of like, each pkmn gets a nature like the original but it's random as to which u get?

*Obvi i wouldnt want them to get gender split personally

*anyway maybe like, say brave is charmander, pika, machop, rowlet or something. Game rolls a die when you open up a new game and ur option if u get brave is [drum roll] machop! But if you don't get brave that doesn't rlly matter except for partner choosing bc it's whatever u didn't get personality-wise

*any pkmn that didn't get rolled could even have some significant role in some other way, like maybe another personality type could be assigned to a rival team (a team is assigned brave leader timid partner, and since u rolled machop then they have to roll for a dif one and got pika and cynda)

*for non starter options, i think all the ones from previous are obvi good choices! Otherwise, maybe a couple more pika clones (pawmi, marrill, and emolga could work?); fairy types like flabébé, impidimp, and fidough; a few regional birds like fletchling and rookidee; maybe a bug type like dwebble or sizzlipede (though id be worried about balancing issues for bug types i still want them 🥺 ); zorua (why hasnt zorua been added ... seems silly bc how popular it is); maybe another dragon like noibat, dreepy, or applin (or all 3 lol); lechonk could be cute (like munchlax's inclusion); and i also think rolycoly could be a cool twist one

SV PMD AU!

A few people asked for more details on this so I threw down some basic plot stuff

Some context up front: My version of the SV protagonist is a girl named Violeta who happens to be a Faller, so this is not the first and not the last dimension she gets yoinked into. Other than that it’s pretty standard fare for a PMD protag— she wakes up as a Pokemon (Sprigatito) with no memories except her name, finds another Pokemon (the ‘raidon) and is tortured with assorted visions as she levels up her exploration team and achieves various plot related milestones

The ‘raidon has a past / future way of speaking and is embarrassed about their accent— combined with the trauma of being attacked by the other ‘raidon leaves them selectively mute and extremely shy. I haven’t really thought of much beyond that for the raidon so uh. That’ll happen eventually

In terms of worldbuilding, there are actually two guilds instead of just one. The first is for kids / novice adventurers (aka a parallel to the academy) and run by Clavell (a drampa). The “teachers” are just upper level guild-members who spend time with and train new recruits. They’re all capable in their own right and often team up to go on missions and whatnot, but feel strongly about teaching and want to help nurture the new generation of explorers, so they’re full-time guild employees / members. 

By contrast, the second guild is a parallel to the League, and consists exclusively of high-level adventurers who have proven their worth and gotten admission approval from the guildmaster Geeta. Most (the gym leaders) are part-timers, doing their regular jobs in the town for most of the time and going on missions when instructed to by the League. The strongest among them are the Elite Four, who also run a gauntlet of battles to test whether an explorer / team can reach “champion rank”. They have considerably more work than the gym leaders and go on way more missions, being practically full time

Just like SV I imagine this AU having three “storylines” corresponding to the three paths you can take in the game:

Victory Road is all about the protagonist trying to keep up with Nemona, a champion-ranked Pawmi explorer who strangely doesn’t have a partner. She begs the protagonist to join her exploration team, which everyone around them seems weirded out by, and after talking with Clavell you learn Nemona hasn’t been able to keep a team member for more than like A Month because of her… everything. She’s extremely powerful, but also reckless and oblivious, so every one of her partners has either gotten overwhelmed by her and quit for gotten injured while they tried and failed to keep up with her, quitting afterwards. She’s more or less cycled through everyone in the academy, unable to hold down a proper team because everyone thinks she’s Too Much. Also she’s an electric type so she zaps everyone and everything around her if she gets too excited which is always. Clavell expresses hope that the protagonist can match her pace and maybe bring the both of them to greater heights— if the protagonist doesn’t get fed up with her and quit like everyone else. 

Path of Legends is about Arven, a (shiny) Poochyena trying to heal his uncle figure, Mabosstiff, who was hurt protecting him when the two went into a dangerous dungeon called “Area Zero” looking for Arven’s missing parents. The protagonist soon learns that Mabosstiff is a former outlaw who has since retired, so Arven can’t risk asking anyone in the guild for help without Mabosstiff getting arrested or worse. He enlists the protagonist to travel with him to dungeons and fight the Titan pokemon guarding the Herba Mystica on each dungeon’s final floor so they can hopefully heal his buddy. As they travel with the ‘raidon and eat the delicious sandwiches Arven whips up from the herbs, the ‘raidon gains more abilities and the protagonist gains more memories as the visions get clearer. ~The Plot Thickens~. I have literally zero ideas about The Way Home or how the professors fit into this so not sure what those visions or plot things are quite yet

Starfall Street is all about the protagonist taking on outlaws from the devious Team Star, a group of unknown criminals named after constellations who take over mystery dungeons, steal jobs, and snag items before guild members can get to them. A mysterious newcomer named Clive joins the protagonist along with Penny, a strange vigilante Eevee who isn’t part of the guild but wants to provide support to the protagonist in the form of items and other goodies. When the reach the first outlaw, however, and “Segin” is revealed to be a Murkrow named Giacomo who is no older than the protagonist and Penny, Clive and the protagonist starts to wonder what exactly is going on with these strange band of criminals— or if they’re even criminals at all. To get to the bottom of it, they vow to defeat and get the real story from each of the five bosses, untangling the mystery and making it all the way up to the Big Boss themself, Cassiopeia. 

I have no ideas for No Way Home ngl. Wishes are going to be a big part of it I think but honestly I got nothing atm. No idea how I’m going to incorporate the gym leaders into Nemona’s plot or how I’m going to end that either. Gyms don’t really lend themselves well to PMD so I’m at a bit of a loss with her. I’m also not super sure if I want the rivals to be present for just their storylines or not. On one hand the ‘raidon being the partner kinda works and the rivals shuffle out to keep from crowding things but on the other it might be cool to have all of them join so the protagonist has this big ol RPG party. 

The only route I have an ending for is Starfall Street. It’s revealed the now-admins of Team Star used to be part of the guild, but bullied a lot but other members. They eventually dressed up in their silly little costumes and challenged their bullies to battle in a whole theatrical performance, but the bullies were so scared they abandoned the guild to move to another, stealing / destroying some things on the way out and pinning the blame on the admins as a last-word kinda revenge. Team Star was accused of driving out the missing members, property destruction, and theft— and as such were ousted from the guild and labeled outlaws. The previous guildmaster eventually did realize Team Star was falsely accused, but fearing the truth would destroy the academy guild’s reputation, he erased all records of who Team Star was outside of species / hideout location and then resigned, leaving the new staff and guildmaster clueless as to what was really going on with Team Star. Clavell and the rest of staff didn’t realize that the admins’ “takeover” of different areas was just making the dungeons into a place to sleep, and that they were actually doing the “stolen jobs” to make money and get food so they wouldn’t go hungry. When Clive finally gets to the bottom of it all, he reinvites Team Star back into the guild and shares the truth with the rest of the guild’s students and staff to help make up for it. 

This is super open-ended so I’m very open to suggestions about it :)

She has motricity problems in her right arm since birth, but the reason behind it is unknown. Since her right hand is her dominant one, she has a motricity helper to conter this problem (her specific red and black glove is the device).

She is also VERY overactive, which doesn't help as she just wants to battle again and again.

Picnic lover. He is used to go picnic with his Maschiff (now Mabosstiff) multiple times a week.

Let the others play with his hair, as he doesn't mind. But he lets his other half Juliana go all out with it.

Self-taught boy. He was on his own almost all of his life, as his parents (Olim Sada & Turo Arven) were never there to really take care of him. He is able to do many things, such as cooking, sewing, and multiple chores.

He feels uneased alongside Mora Raifort, as she reminds him a lot of his parents, more specifically his mother (they were best friends back in the days).

Visually impaired. Maschiff was given to him as a gift for Christmas in order to help him out with this disability. So we can say it is pretty much a guide dog. This was one of the most significant things his parents ever offered him.

He was on his own living in the lighthouse for quite some time. But ever since his last time in Area Zero where he learned about his parents' passing, Clavell offers him a place to live in the academy (since he didn't know either that they passed away).

Unlike his parents who were prodigies pretty much at every school subject, Pepper has had a hard time following all the subjects, and often needed private lessons to help him reach the average level.

Ever since what happened to his partner in Area Zero (which almost led to his dear Pokemon's death), Pepper never wanted to do any battles anymore. So he never goes to Élige Dendra's fighting and battling lessons.

Now he goes from time to time, but it is not the lesson he is the most thrilled about.

Always going in cooking classes after class. He is practicing even more with Clavell, who is now his father figure.

If there is one subject he is thrilled to learn more about, it has to be foreign languages and cultures.

Menzi is teaching him sign language as well.

Is actually helping out Team Star with their community services. He likes to feel useful and helping out people.

His greatest dream is to open and be the chef of his own restaurant, the biggest one in Mesagoza, near the academy. One that will for both Humans and Pokémons.

Kombu sometimes asks him to come in his restaurant in order to help him achieve his dream.

All of her Eeveelutions' names are based of thei real names, or have a name that is reminiscent of their species names, apart from Sylveon. The reason for that is because she had the later as an Eevee when she was very young, and mistook the species's names as "Vee" rather than Eevee, so she decided to stick to that name.

All of her Eeveelutions knows Quick Attack and Baby-Doll Eyes. They also all know a stab move and a coverage move, apart from Flareon, who has 2 Fire Type Moves. Here are their 2 other specific moves :

My honest review for Pokémon Horizons (without watching it...)

Since it's the newest generation of the Pokémon Anime, I'll watch that episode later, but here is my honest review of this episode WITHOUT watching it:

So we begin with Liko going to school with a bus. Then she meets a student with a fang. But I didn't except that the starters are random rather than By Gen. The student gets Oshawott and Liko Sprigatito, which is bored asf.

But the student telling haven't you heard of Pawmi surprised me. I didn't except why she have to said that. Anyways, they fight, Liko draws and they slept.

Liko wakes up and have an adventure of her own. Then that guy fights with another guy's Cerulege (idk their names yet, sorry...😔😔). And yeah, Pawmi & Fuecoco was UNEXPECTED... It's like making another relationship rather than Quaxly, and with Sprig and Rockruff it reminded me of Eevee, Pikachu, Yamper and Sobble...

Quaxly was just... Ok... I don't have any opinion on this duck

Pokémon teams for group of oc’s, should be noted they are completely original with no fandom ties, I just made these for fun so not extremely thought out lol

-aloe has a shiny togetic though it’s honestly hard to tell, this is to poke fun at his personality a bit, fidough for his love of cooking/baking, pikachu referencing his personality, and his trusty lanturn the same reason. Combee is referencing how he works hard at work, and has a bit of sass in him. Just a bit though.

-Peri’s team is meant to be a fighting team, I just thought both sylveons would fit her and having a duo of them would be neat, and tinkaton is the closest resemblance to her personality

-minun is to match his sister, roserade and oricorio to match his personality (and also oric can learn attract fitting for a minor flirt like crevan), he’d get the chandelure during a trip to the hospital as a lampent when he was little it being a shiny is to connect to aloe.

-most of aya’s pokemon was gifted to her by crevan i imagine all except for plusle and mareep, jigglypuff helps her get to sleep due to her having so much energy, most of her poke’s are electric types to reflect her personality with two fairies to not make it fully electric and reflect her girly side when she’s not having the zoomies lol

-krystals team is supposed to have one poke to reference mostly everyone else but I mostly had her in mind when picking them. Both ribombee and pawmi are to connect her with aloe, roselia to match with crevan and polteageist was I imagine gifted to her from him, alcremie is both to reference aya and krystal’s own last name thus the flavor choice.

Only once per Save - Farming Guide

Scarlet and Violet introduced a new feature: Tera-Raids. They are classified with different amount of stars to symbolize the difficulty to clear the Raid. Some are easy to clear them solo and some require to be cleared with a team. Additionally, if you‘d like to unlock 6-Star and 7-Star Tera-Raids, which are those with the highest difficulty level, you need to play through the complete storyline (all 3 paths have to be finished plus the exploration to Area Zero), you have to have seen the credits, fighting all Gyms once again, participate and win the Academy tournament and clear a bunch of 5-Star Tera-Raids. In short: A ton of work. In general, it is better to have some high IV, EV trained battle ready Pokemon to clear them.

But before we go any further, let us discuss if we should consider them as Events. To be honest, opinions differ here a lot. There are several voices calling 7-Star and some 5-Star Tera-Raids Events, because those Tera Pokemon are catchable just once per save, some are also version exclusives. And additionally, they are only available for a limited time period* and the 7-Star Tera-Pokemon have an additional special mark, the Mighty Mark. That can be counted as Events. But on the other hand they do not create a Wondercard which is why, enough people don‘t count them as Events. R/pokemontrades, my subreddit of trust for trading legit uncloned Events, considers them as non-Events, but some traders over there catch several of each kind, because they believe in an increase of their value.

And if you look around in other communities like X (former Twitter) you‘ll get the idea that it is totally normal to farm these „once per save�� Pokemon. Some weeks ago, my friend Red published this screen record of his Pokemon HOME showing several Titans:

Honestly, it was veeery unattractive for me to collect Mighty Marks at first. The preparations were just too much time consuming for me. I ususally do not complete games several times, I tried it not just once, but failed always. I just can bring myself to play far enough for being able to redeem an Event code. Speaking in time: I need approx half an hour to prepare a save compared to 10+ hours to complete a playthrough.

However, several things happened so that I changed my mind:

The Pokemon, you‘ll use to beat the Raid, won‘t disobey your commands, regardless if you have 0 Gym badges

A friendly soul carried me through some 7-Star Tera-Raids so that I‘ve gotten many L and XL candies, which helped me to prepare a second complete playthrough

I bought a second Nintendo Switch, I can locally host a Raid now

Two Paradox Legends were available again for a limited period, Walking Wake (Paradox form of Suicune) and Iron Leaf (Paradox form of Virizion)

So, I decided to start farming once-per-save Tera-Raid Events and I‘d like to share with you here how I‘m doing this. You‘ll start nearly exactly like I already described here - with only one exception: while running to the first PokeCenter, you need to catch this little guy, Paldean Wooper. He is a static encounter when you pass the little pond.

After your talk with Nemona at the first PokeCenter, you just run towards Mesagoza.

Right before the gate of Mesagoza, you will encounter Nemona and battle her again. Choose Paldean Wooper as soon as she sends out Pawmi. Pawmi will only use Thunder Shock, Wooper is immune against electrice moves - it will be a free win for you.

Go to Mesagoza together with Nemona and head straight to the school.

On your way, you will encounter Penny and two Grunts of Team Star. Battle them. This is the only point in my opinion, where it is an advantage to choose Quaxly over the other two starters**.

After you‘ve beaten both Grunts, head over to the school. Now, everything is simply straight. As soon as you are able to walk free again, head over to the Cafeteria, start the Path of Legends by talking with Arven and take the call from Penny Cassiopeia.

Afterwards, head to the Staff Room and start the Victory Road. You‘ll be called to the Directors office immediately afterwards.

Head to the Directors office and mash yourself through the talk with him and Professor Turo/Sada. Leave the office afterwards by heading to your own Room. Go to sleep.

As soon as you wake up, an announcement will be played for all to meet at the schools yard. Follow Nemona after the cutscene.

Start the Starfall Street and mash yourself through the fight conversation of Nemona, Arven and Cassiopeia.

As soon as you are by your own again, your save is ready. If you have purchased the DLC, Jaqc will call you, telling you about Kitakami as well.

And that‘s it! Now, you are able to participate on Tera-Raids. I‘m sending over some Battle Ready Pokemon to this save, host the Tera-Raid and fight the Tera-Pokemon with two Switches.

My fastest run from the very beginning until Tera-Raids took 53 minutes in total, but I‘m working on improvements.

The next 7-Star Tera-Raid is already announced and I have prepared several saves now. I‘m planning to farm candies as well, send me over some high IV lvl 1 Pokemon from breeding and completing a few more playthroughs as well. At least, I‘ll have the chance to „save“ some Tera-Raids as long as I‘m not redeeming/going online with a save. Or at least catch more (version exclusive) legendaries like Miraidon, Koraidon, Okidogi, Munkidori, Fezandipiti, Ogerpon, Iron Boulder, Iron Crown, Gouging Fire, Raging Bolt and Terapagos. And let‘s see what comes next!

*The Event Tera-Raid can be kept alive if you do not go online after its official end.

**You can‘t use Sprigatitos STAB move in the first fight, because Shroodle has the poison type. It is very likely that Fuecoco will be out-speeded. Both results in a little time loss. Obviously, this only matters to you if you‘d like to prepare a save as fast as possible.

Scarlet and Violet is the first main series Pokemon game I haven’t played. Honestly it’s kind of a bummer, but I really actively despise that Terastrialization thing. It’s SO ugly. And I genuinely do not like any of the new Pokemon except for Pawmi.

The Scarlet pre-historic forms are alright, but the futuristic robo forms are hideous. Just so many literally bad designs and that just sucks the joy out of it all for me.

I have so many ideas for a Pokemon reboot series that elevates the original premise I don’t know what to do with them.

I’ve been meaning to make an update on my progress in Pokemon Violet, but for some reason, I’ve kept putting it off until now.

And since a lot has happened since my last post, I’m just going to give a short summary of what has happened so far.

Warning: Spoilers for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Under the Cut

Let’s start with my progress in all three of the stories.

Victory Road: I’ve beaten two Gym Leaders: Brassius and Katy (in that order)

Path of Legends: I’ve beaten two Titans: Kwalf, the Stony Cliff Titan, and Bombadier, the Open Sky Titan (in that order). I somehow didn’t get by any of the boulders Bombadier was trying to drop on me prior to the battle.

Starfall Street: I’ve only beaten one of the squads: the Schedar Squad. I plan on taking on the Segin Squad next (which I probably should have beaten first because Level-wise, this squad is the easiest one to beat. However, since these games allow you to do everything in any order you want, this is how I’m going to continue the Starfall Street story).

Next, I’m going to list all of the new Pokemon species I have met.

Oinkologne, the evolution of Lechonk (I only have a male Oinkologne, but I did catch a female Lechonk and plan on evolving it so I can get a female Oinkologne)

Squawkabilly (I caught all four forms: Blue Plumage, Grey Plumage, Yellow Plumage, and Green Plumage)

As for the Pokédex overall, I’ve seen 144 Pokemon and caught 117.

Now for the stories: Victory Road hasn’t been that exciting in terms of the story it’s telling, and I’ve only beaten one Team Star squad, so I can’t say much about Starfall Street for the time being (other than the fact that Clive is TOTALLY not Clavell in disguise and I’m almost certain Penny is playing a bigger role in this story than just being a member of the Supply Division), but Path of Legends… that’s a different story.

Arven’s reasons for seeking out the Herba Mystica was way more sad than I thought it was. He’s trying to help his Mabosstiff recover from the serious injuries it got in a battle a long time ago, but nothing has helped. Not items, not Pokemon Centers, nothing… except for the Herba Mystica.

He is placing his faith in a bunch of records from an expedition that happened a long, long time ago that may or may not be true, but the Violet Book’s records may have some truth to them… after all, after eating the Bitter Herba Mystica, Mabosstiff finally opened its eyes again.

I originally wanted to do the Path of Legends story first so I could unlock new powers for Miraidon, but now I have a second reason to complete this story first: I want to see Mabosstiff recover.

I really hope it does…

This is not a good segway into the last part of this summary, but this is too important for me to leave out: I found my first Shiny Pokemon before I’d even beaten my first Gym, Titan, or Team Star Squad, and it was this Spoink.

I did make a post about this last month, but like I said, this is too important for me to leave out of the summary.

Oh actually, one last thing, my current team (which I’m thinking of making my final team) includes the following Pokemon:
