1, 2, 9, & 14!
tc hiiii! 🩷 this got long again. i think these are all gonna be really long i just love women
1. One of your favorite female characters?
charlotte fire emblem is my absolute ride or die and i love her more than i love myself. idk if i wanna be her or marry her. probably both.
2. One of your favorites from when you were a child?
i was a princess peach girlie. i loved her sooo much (still do! just a little less obsessed) i had a princess peach costume, plush toy that i brought with me EVERYWHERE, my parents got me a nintendo ds lite for christmas one year and with it came this sick princess peach system wrap and a stylus with her on it, and the only game i had for like the first six months of owning that thing was, very predictably, super princess peach. she raised me is what im saying
9. A female character you started out disliking but came around to?
goldmary fire emblem engage. she is one of my favs ever now, but my first impression of her was horrible. i hated her pose, i hated her facial expression, i thought she was gonna be the worst horny bait for weebs and i’d have to avoid her at all costs. but she actually ended up being the funniest character in the entire game, somehow managing to balance being cringe while also incredibly confident? shes just such a fun character. also i love that she starts in hero so she doesnt have to wear the dumbass generic hero outfit. hers is much cuter <3
14. An interesting familial relationship with female characters?
ive always really liked flora and felicia’s relationship in fates. it’s so… like. they both see the absolute best in eachother, and the worst in themselves, and for flora specifically its eating her up so much inside that she cant compete with felicia’s natural combat talent that there’s this growing resentment she knows is wrong but you just cant help it sometimes. and poor felicia has no idea, she’s just trying to get by, not understanding why flora’s becoming so much colder (lol) and distant until it all comes to the worst peak ever in birthright and in attempt to make up for it flora takes her own life but felicia never truly gets to learn why. or you can go conquest/rev where that doesnt happen, but still. its like these two sisters love eachother more than anything but they have the weight of their worlds on their shoulders and cope with it in two completely different ways and they just. dont communicate that with eachother. in a way i think it’s pretty realistic to siblings but its on a much more dramatic scale and it’s so… rrarrghhh

What took your vision also rang in your ears.
Tinnitus hummed from the flash bang and, as you came up, you found Mikey still rooted from where he’d unleashed his sonic attack.
An assault to the senses, you fought disorientation to find the others.
It took a few blinking seconds, but you found them all several feet back from Mikey’s ground zero.
They’d all be flung away except you.
It brought you up onto your hands and knees where the others began to animate from where they’d been tossed.
“Crush…?” Donnie had clearly slid and lowered an arm he’d instinctually raised.
“Yes! A crush! I like Y/N, Donnie! Do you get it now!? Is that obvious enough!? Do you need to run that test on me to prove it?!” Like water accumulated in the clouds, the many, many amber tears chose then to fall.
Already askew, the room leapt to avoid the acid rain.
It brought a cacophony of sizzles to everywhere except for where you were.
Donnie’s lips moved as he argued something.
A conversation carried on, but you could only stand there.
You didn’t remember getting to your feet.
Suddenly feeling a million miles away no other voice reached you other than the memoriy of Mikey’s scream.
Was that what it was?
His first smile served up as a chef came to mind.
The wink.
The praise.
The teasing.
A-as a friend!
They were dates.
He’d taken you on dates.
Reality warped around you and the little black craters scorched by Mikey’s tears felt like they could grow.
The little dots were puckered omens set to combine.
They’d form a dark mass ever reaching to consume.
You didn’t have to move.
It came to you.
Swallowed you whole.
The teacher of the painting class had told you he was a keeper.
The mean man at the gym had congratulated Mikey on saving face in front of you.
One hockey player had told another to back off because you were taken.
The board game group had whispered about not letting significant others come back.
It was like you hadn’t heard any of it now.
It was so painfully obvious now.
You should have felt stupid.
Ignorant.
Blind.
Only, Mikey never made you feel uncomfortable.
He never once leered.
He rarely even touched you.
If he did it was out of excitement.
The interactions were fleeting at best.
There were no signs.
You were vigilant enough, but that wasn’t what was consuming you.
The darkness was you.
A manifestation that loomed with glooming eyes.
You weren’t good enough on your own.
Not for friendship.
You had to be desired.
He hadn’t shined on you.
The sun didn’t come across you in happenstance.
It wasn’t so selfless.
The life giving rays were to be coaxed with sacrifice.
It was to be entreated.
Your fucking naivety.
He wanted something.
He wanted you.
Not to help you.
For romance.
You felt used.
You felt guilty.
Had you led him on?
You perpetuated.
You never said no.
You never thought to establish barriers.
You’d needed him so badly.
You were guilty.
You’d used him.
You had the gall to feel bad about him using you?
You should have known.
You had wondered about his motives.
Why hadn’t you tried harder to figure out the cause?
Transactions had two sides.
That was the way of the world.
Nothing came free.
That was how you were taught.
You were meaningless.
A product to be commodified.
You had to produce.
Anything to make your waste of space worthwhile.
Pay the tax of your birth.
You stumbled back and the couch was there.
The room was there
It had always been.
There was no imaginary darkness.
Only you.
“Y/N?” Mikey’s voice searched.
The sun wanting its flower to turn towards him.
It needed to see how its crop was progressing.
“A-all t-this ti-time?” You looked up to find him and your throat nearly closed.
For once, he looked as lost as you. “I-I… I.. wasn’t going to… tell you…”
“T-that’s all you thought… of m-me?”
He was going to keep using you.
You were in motion before you knew it.
How could you get away?
You’d seen him walk through space.
He was unstoppable.
His mere tears could have killed you.
He had even saved you from that.
You shot out into the subway tunnels.
Into the actual darkness where only little flicks of light kept the space from being pitch black.
Amongst surges of tears, you broke sobs and stumbled your way out a mess. If you had a mind, you might have worried about getting lost. Now you moved on sheer instinct and your body knew exactly what exit you could take. However, with every nicety came a balance and its form also took your legs. It left you with direction and an inability to cleanly run. Every fall skinned your knees, a bump against the brick ripped your elbow, and you even dropped hard enough that you bruised a rib against the track.
You were useless.
Pushing against the chokehold of fate, you neared the exit. Heaving sobs that begged for voice, you allowed it only for fear they’d take your consciousness. Streams of light clawed through a sewer grate and you only needed to climb up through warbled vertigo and salty perspiration before you were free of this place.
You.
Sweaty.
Crying.
Fucking.
Mess.
There’d be judgment on the street.
It was night and you’d be an easy target.
Put a neon vest on you that said rob me.
You needed to curl up.
You wanted to be on your bed.
You wanted to use Leo’s powers.
You wanted to be alone.
Utterly alone.
No more of this.
This whole charade.
You couldn’t be better.
You couldn’t rise above your station.
Who the fuck were you to think you were owed that?
Looking further down the tunnel, a safety light illuminated a shadow strangely. You walked towards it, sure steps, until you reached and found a little alcove housing one of those access doors. A little too high for you at your shoulder’s height, you dug your nails into the dirty brick. Ripping your finger’s pads, you scrambled with slipping sneakers until you were able to get yourself onto the ledge. Doing so out of sheer will and not any prowess, you collapsed to pant. The mucus rolled a repulsive plug inside you from laying down and you suffocated. Curling up fetal, you pulled yourself close and dropped again into that self loathing abyss.
It was at least familiar.
Small.
Quiet.
Alone.
This is what you were worth.
Footsteps.
Eyes shooting open, you had no idea how long it had been, but you scrambled. Needing to be quiet, you held your breath as you crawled backward into the alcove’s corner. Clamping your hands over your mouth, you screwed your eyes shut.
You had been followed.
You couldn’t handle the sun right now.
He’d blind you.
You’d suffered enough injury.
You wished.
Not on starlight, but with your entire being that he wouldn’t locate you.
You begged any celestial being that would listen and hoped only that he would climb out of the underground instead.
He wouldn’t look further.
He wouldn’t have noticed the evidence of you.
He’d leave.
He’d be worried.
He’d be looking.
He needed to see his crop.
He never got to see it bloom.
A little huff came as a sob shook you and you choked on it as silently as you could.
It was enough.
You heard the footsteps that had ceased, now coming your way with purpose.
There was no stopping the tears.
Wishes turned to bargaining.
You were left to beg.
Beg to be left alone.
Your only option.
A soft purple glow bent its reach around the brick and you thought this would be the last you saw as your lack of oxygen finally caught up with you.
Donatello’s illuminated form appeared coated in purple neon.
He would be your grim reaper.
A harsh, but not a burning light, shined over you and you couldn’t stop the tears that were freely flowing.
You could only turn your head away.
You looked pathetic.
He couldn’t deny that.
With a soft whirl, he flew up high enough to walk straight onto the ledge where you had struggled.
You turned the other way in favor of pressing your forehead into the wall as hard as you could. Sounds indicated he took a seat on the far end of the alcove before you heard a swish of fabric. Behind your eyelids you watched the obvious light snuff out. Fear cracked one of your eyes open and you found you could still see. A dim aura now entrenched the space and in front of you was the darkened residue of what looked like a curtain covering the alcove’s entrance. Staring at it through puffy slits, you traced along the fabric to find a purple glow stick sat off to the side and doing its best to illuminate the space. Not enough to even throw shadows, it gave a ghostly glow to the alcove and made Donnie almost look regretful.
He didn’t say anything and instead brought up his arm. In time a purple projection shot out of it and gave his face a haunting harshness as he turned toward you. “He’s coming.”
Fear dousing your spine, you pulled your knees impossibly close to your chest and soon heard many sets of feet echoing down the tunnel. Mikey then clearly shouted, “Here! This is where they’d usually come down,” as the others discussed how they’d fan out to look for you. Casey asked about the scent and Mikey stuttered out that it stops here. Wilting and wondering what they’d do next, there was a tinkling noise of hands gripping metal. It echoed louder as the ladder’s weight must have increased with the group. The grate then creaked open and you heard Mikey one last time, “That means they left. Let’s go!”
First waiting for the silence that said everyone had vanished, you then continued to cower in hopes Donnie would also leave.
When he didn’t, you lifted your head not to look at him, but to make room for your shattered voice. “W-why are you… doing this…?”
The stretch of silence that followed was so long that you questioned whether you’d actually verbalized or not.
Pounding headache and body rapidly giving out, you felt stagnate.
“The… way you said it”
It took force to blink your eyes.
“’That’s all you thought of me.’” He whispered in what sounded like sympathy.
That couldn’t be.
Not after what he put you through.
“What do you care?” You were too tired to be astonished by your bitter tone.
He chuffed. “There it is.”
“Fuck you.”
“Oh, a big one.” He tucked his legs under him and leaned against his wall to watch you more easily. “Nice to finally see.”
“H-how…?” Nothing left in your ducts, your eyes squeezed without moisture. “Why? Just why?”
“Why what?”
“Why won’t you give up? Why are you so mad? What did I do to you? What am I missing? What do you know that I don’t?!”
You studied him and found his pupils rolling in the bottom of his vision as he thought over the questions you posed. When he came too, he had grown especially sullen. “Why indeed…?”
You couldn’t muster a glare and had to set your chin atop your knees because you couldn’t keep your head upright.
“I… was obsessive and for that… I’m…” He hitched on a difficulty that didn’t seem like the obvious one. “Can I be sorry? That seems questionable considering it’s been little more than an hour since I last thought otherwise, but… again, what you said…”
“What about it?”
“It’s just…” His brow furrowed. “If I may be candid?”
“You’ve threatened me! Multiple times! Hundreds of times!”
“Yes, but now I’m asking.” He gave you a look that said that was the best you’d get.
You shook your head, but what came out of your mouth disagreed. “Please, keep tormenting me.”
“Does Mikey make you feel special?”
It was such a shock that you managed to get your head up a few inches. “What?”
Instead of repeating, you watched Donnie obviously struggle with what he’d said.
“D-does he … make me…?”
Instead of giving an affirmative sign, Donnie shrank into himself. “When he looks at you, is it like nothing else matters?”
Like the light of the glow stick, you felt something there and it caused you to murmur. “He’s… like the sun…”
“Exactly!” His form elevated with commiseration.
You relented to nod. “So… what? I’m bound to turn into you?”
Donnie’s stare pulled at you until he mumbled a soft, “No, that can’t be.”
“What?” You lowered your own voice in case he wanted to dismiss it.
“This will sound absurd coming from me, I acknowledge that, but… do you struggle with worth?”
That one got your entire body upright. “Donatello.”
He was owlish in his waiting.
You could feel the palpable standoff.
It was a fleeting sense, but you inherently knew the statement was meant for both of you.
Mikey affected him in a similar way.
You weren’t sure how to feel about that.
“You said ‘absurd,’ but Donatello… how?? Do you hear how much your brothers talk about you? All of them! Not just Mikey! You’ve done everything. You’re the reason the lair exists. The literal air, power, running water, Donatello you did basically everything. Too much! They said… I mean…”
“No, don’t.” He reached across the gap, but let his hand fall to the brick. “Don’t retreat into yourself. This is the most you’ve been yourself… That I’ve seen.”
“You’re changing the subject.”
He looked away with obvious guilt.
“You’re a bad liar.”
“Ugh!” He improved his posture out of frustration. “You hear it though right? It’s just as you said! They talk about what I’ve created. Not me. I’m… I’m only useful for what I can make for them.” He pursed his lips and added something in a bitter tone. “It’s been worse in the past and to a point I’ve improved, but with age we’ve grown busy and it’s hard not to miss how sometimes we’ll go several days without talking only for them to start a conversation as pretense so I will repair something…”
“At least you have that…” You didn’t regret the sentence, but your whole body winced around its exit.
“Think about how I’ve seen you.”
Another curveball, you looked at him with sheer confusion. “How… what???”
“Yes, it’s bad, I hear you, thank you, but think beyond that.”
“You’re so condescending.”
“Try!” He pressed with irritation.
You rolled your eyes. “I mean you acted like I was evil incarnate.”
“Exactly.”
You lifted your hands to indicate you had no idea what he meant.
“I thought you cunning, nefarious. You were playing a long con.”
“You thought I was…?” Your eyes widened. “M-me? Have y-you seen m-me!?I c-can barely speak! I’m terrified of you! Of everything!”
“Yes, but I considered that part of the ruse and I had not been wrong in that regard.”
“I’m not a bad guy!” Your body moved to plead with him and your arm came down to stabilize yourself.
“I see that now.” He spoke with an honesty that impaled your chest. “I was right though. You weren’t acting authentically. You weren’t acting like yourself.”
“That’s the real me! This is-this is…! I don’t know what this is, but I’m no good!” You leaned further forward, trying to make him understand.
“Are you trying to convince me or you?” He opened up for a second, more lethal, earnest wave.
You gaped at him feeling very much caught in a trap. “T-that’s…!”
“To remind you of what I’ve said: I see now. I may not know why you put up the front, but you are not evil.”
“S-so what…? If I’m not bad then…? You suddenly think I’m good?!”
“I think… you’re like me.” He looked away. “Not by example and it’s a selfish imposition, but the more you speak, the more I connect what I’ve seen with how utterly wrong my labeling was. Veneer or not, you struggle with your place. My questioning it was wrong. I should know better…”
You fell to your hands and knees, desperate to capture more of his expression in the weak light of the glow stick. “It can’t be that easy. You’re just over it? We find common ground and that’s it? Am I supposed to forgive you!?”
“No.” He looked at you openly. “Don’t. Go ahead and hate me. Do you think this is the first time I’ve rushed into something like this? Don’t you think I also perpetuate my own failings?!”
Your hand brushed his as you moved closer.
His gaze dropped down to the contact.
It was a trigger point.
Everything hit you all at once.
Mikey.
Donnie.
Your failings.
Being seen.
Pain.
Understanding.
“You-!“ A wave hit you like somebody suddenly dumped a bucket into your empty well.
Lips turning down violently at the pump, your body sucked up the liquid and it drained right through the spigot of your eyes.
Donnie arms parted.
He wanted to stop what came next.
The tears.
He would fend you off.
You were acting out of turn.
You were sobbing again.
He was the only one there.
Why him?
You’d only asked for Mikey not to find you.
Mikey.
Who used who?
It hurt.
Why did the moon persist?
You had little control as you crumpled forward and straight into your hapless company.
You hit his chest and the plastron underneath bit your face upon impact.
Retribution, you thought, for breaking down on him of all people. “You are so cruel!”
Anxiety.
He didn’t want this.
Still, he tented his arm loosely around you.
He held you together as your sobs tried to shake you apart.
It was all too much.
“I’m sorry.” He spoke against your head.
It was desperate.
Remorseful.
You felt it.
He hadn’t wanted to do this to you.
There was no just cause.
He said it again.
Twice.
Three times.
Then on repeat as he hoisted you up against him for a proper squeeze to pair with the proper apology.
Soon curled up in a ball in his lap, you continued to soak his front and he held you steady through the breakdown. There would be chemicals released from this, you knew. For as terrible as you felt, they’d try to soothe you. They wished better things and to wash away the pain you’d endured. Each tear took away a bitter toxic thought. All of Donnie’s own doing and despite you fighting against it, knowing you both had similar anxieties helped. You would never have acted like him, but you knew that mania. It was one that haunted you in a different way. Whether you’d forced him into this current position or not, you decided not to forgive him. You wouldn’t, but the toxicity of his rot had been wiped on your shirt and left you a ravaged husk.
It also left you anew.
Headache turned migraine, the throbbing sinus pressure made it feel like your eyes were going to pop out. Keeping your lids down to prevent that, you rooted into his already drenched form and felt him rubbing your back. It was a move that you thought should have read an awkward way to rush your healing process, but the slow even strokes reminded you only of a comforting pattern. It said part of him was good at this which meant he had practice. That had larger connotations that you weren’t ready to deal with even if you were weakened to the point of bare bones honesty. “You owe me.”
He said nothing for a long while and continued his petting until he relented with a relaxed breath. “Whatever you want, within reason.”
“I could ask for a lot with that.”
“You could.” He had a smarmy air to him.
“You don’t think I will?” He was being too nice so you felt compelled to inject a little cruelty into the situation. It took a little wiggle, but you slid up high enough to knock your nose against the underside of his chin.
He chuffed against the feeling before giving his own bop in retaliation. “You sound sure enough. I’m interested to see what you’d come up with.”
“Honestly? Nothing.”
“You’ve barely tried.” He almost seemed to complain before he rested the weight of his head against yours. “Either way I have nothing to fear.”
“So smart.” You mocked him with a tired drawl. “Don’t act like you planned for me to not know what to ask for.”
“Me? I could never.” He let a few beats go by. “That was sarcasm, by the way.”
You couldn’t laugh; it was impossible, but you did give into a full body bob that hopefully read amusement. “Ego is the worst cover up. Makes you a jerk.”
“As opposed to being a timid little mouse?”
“Mice are destructive. Versatile. Sturdy.”
“So you do think of yourself as one.” You could feel him try to look down at you, but you were in the way.
“Got me there, but I like to go for more of the usually crushed, a nuisance, and making my presence as small as possible so no one can chase me for stealing cheese.”
His hand stopped and he spread out his fingers. “That depreciative language… I know little as to why you chose it therefore I won’t ask you to stop, but… Hm.”
You nosed his throat as a question.
“I see you.” He had said that before. “You are not so insignificant.”
Something about the comment made your proximity painfully apparent so you shakily pushed against his plastron.
He helped you sit upright though you were still very much in his arms.
“I… What am I going to do?” You murmured, the weight of the situation returning to you now that the obvious sorrow had passed.
He tilted his head.
“Mikey…. He’s exciting and bright. The sun.” You glanced at him and then back down to his chest and your hand there. “I don’t think I like him like he likes me… I… see him like something cosmic… I idolize him… I don’t… I don't have a crush on him, but I don’t… He’s done too much for me, I don’t think… I don’t want to lose-”
“You are under no obligation to return his affections. He knows that.”
You nodded and grew very quiet until you could barely get out, “But I need him…”
Donnie’s grip tightened.
“I’m not ready to be alone again.” You mumbled and sank into him.
He adjusted to hold you close. “I’m not comparable, but you have me. If you call in your favor, of course.”
“I hardly know you.”
You felt Donnie nod at the truth of your statement.
You may have shared traumas, but you were strangers.
Donnie had hated you up until this very day.
There was a very high chance he still did.
His offer sounded like one given in pity.
You had cried into his person.
The moment the guilt wore off, he might return to anger.
You didn’t know.
Not to mention that trading one brother for another felt like the ultimate taboo.
Donnie seemed to pick up on your thoughts. “For now, you both need a moment to decompress. We’ll talk to him, so you can have space. Then, I assume you two will discuss this if your intention is to continue your acquaintance. You can do so alone or I can be on standby. I’m offering my services there. I have known him my whole life.” Exhaustion eating the last bits at you, you only breathed amusement at how awful a mediator Donnie must be before succumbing to sleep.

So, there really isn't anything identical to gdocs out there -- there's one similar ish site that's been referenced a few times in the reblogs that I'm interested in investigating when I get the chance ( https://cryptpad.fr/features.html ) just because I've never heard of them before and frankly I like the idea of secured file sharing. And also a little bit because I want to see what sort of Unhinged Coding Decisions THEY'VE made. Heck, they might ALSO be using a canvas solution, at which point I'll just sigh heavily and accept that canvas is apparently the newest shiny solution for every problem and expect to start seeing it everywhere within the next two to three years.
Because one thing to remember is that, well... EVERY site and internet company is making some form of Unhinged Decision every day. Some of them are relatively harmless -- objectively, canvas is a relatively harmless (except for being inaccessible) form of Unhinged -- and some of them are.. not -- such as Google shutting down Stadia with like 0 warning to anyone, including game devs literally working on games approved for Stadia release.
My primary gripe with google is, and always will be, exactly how much tracking and privacy invasion they do. The things I brought up here are.. they're technical gripes of a coder having to deal with Accessibility Concerns on a site that is absolutely pervasive in our society, and thus is used by school children everywhere. Including ones with problems like dyslexia and reading issues, who rely on my specific web extension to help them process the information they're looking at (my product is much more than JUST text to speech, for the record, which is why just having access to the raw text isn't enough.)
As a programmer, I hate the canvas solution because it's needlessly complex -- the reason every keystroke results in a redraw is because it HAS TO do that... The text isn't TEXT anymore, once it's added to the canvas, so it can't be altered any further except by wiping and redrawing everything.
As a user, the canvas solution... Really isn't that terrible? Except for some issues with redraws and fast scrolling (I feel like there should be ways to make gdocs remain responsive even at larger document sizes, but I don't have access to their actual code, so who knows!) it does what it's advertised to do. It's inaccessible as fuck, and screws with anyone trying to write extensions that also work on gdocs the way it works on 99% of the rest of the internet, and that's... a problem. From a developer perspective, mainly. Because users are going to expect that it DOES work on gdocs the same as it works elsewhere, because why wouldn't it?
So like.. I love how many people are reacting with wtf to my little stress vent after six months of Dealing With This As A Coder, but I want y'all to realize that this by itself shouldn't be the reason y'all move from gdocs, especially with how pervasive it is in our daily lives. If there's a reason to move, please move because of the tracking and privacy violations. Or, like.. because gdocs ate your work and you lost it. That's a very valid reason to move, trust me.
On that note, however, please everyone back your Google drives up somewhere Not Google every once in a while! I know gdocs Looks Like It's Saved Multiple Places but it's not, it's just a cloud storage space, and like literally all technology it can fail sometimes despite everyone's best efforts to the contrary.

Last To Leave Slime Wins $20,000 - Challenge
Masterlist
Paring: Chandler ×Reader Warnings: none Word count. 1185
// Y/n is Chandlers girlfriend and wants to tell him, that she is pregnant. //
Please remember that English is not my first language, so please don't kill me.
Tumblr media
“This is a pit of slime. You guys will get in it. I don’t care which one of you it is, last one of you guys, to leave this slime, gets 20 grand.”, introduced Jimmy the challenge to us, or more like he introduced the boys, since I wasn’t participating.
While Chris leapt into the pool, the water splattered everywhere, which made all the boys laugh. “Wow that felt weird.”, Chris commented when his feet touched the ground.
The slime was so heavy that it sank all the way to the bottom of the tank. In one of the previous videos where Jimmy spends twenty-four hours in the slime, I stood in it for a few seconds, but I renounced this time. Meanwhile Jimmy introduced Chandler, Garrett and Ethan, the other participants.
“And our final contestant. Chandler, who is the final-”
“Is it Santa?”, Chris interrupted Jimmy.
“It’s Chandler’s dad. Since Chandler lost the last two, we actually wanted Y/n to participate and show him how to win, but she felt sick today, so Chandler's dad volunteered instead.”, Jimmy explained.
All of them were disappointed at first, but I found out I was pregnant, so I couldn't take part. Jimmy didn't mention it because I hadn't revealed the true reason to anyone yet. Well, almost everyone. I promised Chris that I would tell him first, if I would ever find out I was pregnant. The hardest challenge for me in this video will probably be to tell Chandler about it. Chris and I both thought mentioning it in a video would be smart. That way, nobody will be mad that I don't participate in challenges.
Chris smiled at me when Jimmy mentioned the "sick” part, causing me to roll my eyes, but luckily nobody noticed.
“Y/n, do you feel guilty?”, Jimmy asked and swung the camera in my direction.
“No, not really, but even if I’m not in there, I will support him from the outside.”, I smiled.
Chris just threw some slime at me in response.
“Hey, I'm the one who will get you food, so behave.” I stuck out my tongue.
“Okay, after we clarified that, what are you going to do with the money?”, Jimmy asked and turned the camera back.
I was happy not to be in the center of attention anymore and took a few steps back. I may have to edit the video and it's always weird to see or hear myself.
Time skip~
“Alright guys, Y/n will get your food now!”, Jimmy yelled, and everybody cheered.
“Chandler, don’t get out until I’m back!”; I shouted back to the guys and left.
After I ordered their food, I took the time I had to wait to record something for the video. “Well, I don't know what they're doing right now, probably yelling or something, but I hope Chandler won’t get out until I’m back. I want to tell him something important when he does, so I hope I don’t miss it. You want to know what I want to tell him? Well, you have to keep watching then.”
I cut the camera off and took the food.
The guys cheered again when I got back, which made me happy at first, but on the other hand, they were probably just cheering for their food and not me.
“Wait, you guys made Chris shut up?”, I asked after I gave everyone their food.
“You did, when you brought food.”, Chandler's dad explained, and Jimmy laughed.
After a phone call from Chandler's brother, nothing really happened, except their normal stupid behavior, so we will have to cut out pretty much. After probably an hour, Chris lost their little quiet game they started a while ago and after a few more hours Chandler left.
“Chandler, think of what you could buy with 20 grand.”, Jimmy tried to make him stay, but he was already out.
I helped him down the stairs, because his shoes were very slippy and while he was getting cleaned up, Chris waved for me to come over.
“You have to tell him when he comes back. I know you can do it.”, he smiled.
“Tell him what?”, Jimmy asked and moved quickly towards us.
“Let’s just say there was a good reason Y/n didn’t participate, and you will have to wait to find out.”, Chris smiled and the other boys groaned.
“Well, let's hope he comes back soon.”, I smiled and left Chris alone.
It took him almost an hour to come back and when he did, I was worried. What if we weren't ready for a child? What if he doesn’t want it?
“Come on Y/n, you can do it. He will be so happy about it. Katie and I will help you both too, I promise.”
“But what if we aren’t ready?”
“Nobody is ever ready for a child, but you can do it, and you will be a great mother.”
You almost cried because of his words. Chris isn't the most empathetic person in this room, but at times like this, she was glad he's her best friend.
“Thank you, Chris.”, you smiled before walking to Chandler. He was talking to Jimmy and his dad, so you waited patiently. Chris gave you a thumbs up and that was all you needed.
“I’m sorry Y/n.”, Chandler apologized sadly.
“Don’t be, to be honest, I wanted to tell you something anyway.”, you said slowly, so he could understand you.
“Are you breaking up with me?”, he asked, panicked.
He was very insecure after he lost a challenge. He tried not to show it too much, but losing made him really sad. Not only that, but he really tried his best and everybody only made jokes about him.
“Wait what? No, not in a million years. Especially not because you lost a challenge.”, I rolled my eyes but got serious again.
“I’m pregnant.”, you whispered, perhaps in a quiet low voice, because everyone was looking at you strangely.
“Could you repeat that?”, Chandler asked.
“I’m pregnant.”; you told him again, louder that time.
“Chandler's going to be a dad!”, Chris yelled, and everybody cheered, except Chandler.
“Hey Chandler, you should say something.”, Jimmy nodded in Y/n’s direction.
She was worried, because of Chandler's leak of emotions, and Jimmy was worried about her, because she looked like she would pass out any second. After a few more seconds, Chandler hugged her. Y/n thought he wanted to crush her, but smiled anyway. Her smile got even brighter when Chandler broke the hug, and she saw that he was crying.
“I-I don’t know what to say. I love you.”, he whispered, and everybody ‘Aww’d’. “I love you too.”
“Well Chandler, are you happy?”, Jimmy asked, with a big smile on his face.
“I’m more than happy.”
“What are 20 grand compared to that? Our child is going to have a baby.”, Jimmy laughed and pointed the camera at Chris.
“Well, 20 grand is still a lot of money.”
“But, we are going to be granddads.”, he swung the camera to Chandler’s dad, who just smiled proudly at his son.
In the end, Garrett won the challenge and everybody cheered for him. Without anybody noticing, Chris stole a camera and said a few last words to the viewers.
“If you watch this and you are Y/n’s and Chandler’s child. I want to let you know that they tell me everything, so if you want to know some secrets about them, ask me.”, he winked and quickly turned off the camera.

(My video edit)
»»————————————-———- ⚜ ———————————-————-««
You and every unwed woman in Narnia knew that the handsome King Caspian was being pressured by his advisors to find a Queen for himself.
Most knew that to become Queen of Narnia would be unattainable for them - no doubt that would be some Princess from another country - and you had no illusions about your own chances. Your father was one of the lords at court and owned a large amount of land near Cair Paravel, but you were not a Royal so you were sure you’d never be considered.
You and Caspian had been friendly when you were younger but you doubted he’d remember you, so much had happened between then and now.
You’d been restless at home recently, mainly because your parents had started speaking of finding you a husband. Appalled, you’d pestered, pleaded with and finally persuaded your father to arrange for you to see Professor Cornelius as you wanted something with which to fill your days instead of playing the piano, embroidery and reading.
Cornelius had suggested you come to work with him as his research assistant, and you’d leapt at the chance. It also meant that you would live at Cair Paravel, away from the slightly smothering atmosphere at home. Your mother had not spoken to you for a week before you left (or your father, whom she blamed for setting up the interview in the first place). But she’d reluctantly accepted that you were flying the nest, however you’d had to endure an extremely long lecture about how you should behave while living away from home.
It seemed that you would be able to eat, drink, speak and bathe and not much else.
»»————————————-———- ⚜ ———————————-————-««
King Caspian made his way to Cornelius’ study, knocking once before entering. The older man looked up at him, smiling and greeting him. Caspian threw himself into the chair in front of the desk, having lifted three books from it first.
“You are in need of some time away from your advisors, Caspian?”
The King nodded, running his hands over his face. “They just go on and on and on about how I need a wife and an heir. I am sure I will find a wife one day but I have other things I wish to concentrate on at the moment.” “Your next voyage?” Caspian nodded, “Yes. There is still much to do. The construction of the Dawn Treader is well under way, but I have an itinerary to decide upon and courses to plot.”
“I have a new research assistant starting tomorrow, I am sure she will be able to help you with that. She is well read and knowledgeable of the many other lands you may wish to visit.” Caspian looked up quickly at him, “She?” “Yes, she is my Lord Tirian’s daughter.” Caspian smiled, “I remember her. We played silly games together when we were young, whenever her father brought her to the castle. It will be so nice to see her again.”
Cornelius, hiding a smile, replied, “Oh, I think you will be very pleased to see her again, my King.”
»»————————————-———- ⚜ ———————————-————-««
Feeling nervous for some reason, you tapped on Cornelius’ door and heard “Come in” in response. Stepping into the room, you were amazed at the numbers of books, manuscripts and charts which occupied the small room. You could hardly see the diminutive Cornelius in amongst it all, and he saw you taking in the piles stacked everywhere.
He chuckled, “Yes, there are too many, my dear. I’m hoping you can help me catalogue and store them as I confess the situation is getting out of control.” You bowed your head to him, “I’ll be happy to assist, Professor Cornelius.” “I’m so glad to hear that. On another note, the King is looking forward to meeting you again. I’d quite forgotten until I spoke to him about you that you were childhood friends.” You smiled, “Well, I’m not sure the King would have actually called me his friend as such, but we did spend happy hours playing hide and seek and pretending to fight dragons.”
Cornelius nodded, “He remembers those times fondly, my lady. He was not allowed to play with many other children, and I’m certain he considered you a friend of his. Come, let us go and reintroduce you to each other.”
»»————————————-———- ⚜ ———————————-————-««
Caspian looked up from the document he was reading at his desk. There had been a sharp knock at the door of his chambers and then it had opened, Cornelius striding into the room with another person following him. He was transfixed as he looked upon the grown-up face of his childhood playmate. He stood and walked around the desk towards the two of them, whispering her name as she curtsied in front of him.
He was still staring at her. Cornelius cleared his throat seeing that the young King was lost for words, but Caspian ignored him as he heard her soft voice, “It is so nice to see you again, your Majesty.” “Caspian,” he said immediately, “we never called each other anything except our first names, did we?” She was smiling up at him, and he was still a little overwhelmed. This was the skinny little girl he’d run about with all those years ago? Now, she was a woman - a beautiful woman. “No, Caspian, we didn’t.”
Cornelius interjected, “I’ll leave you two to get reacquainted, so I’m going back to my study. Your Majesty, my lady.” He gave a small bow and left the room.
Caspian indicated the large couch by the window and she made her way to it, gathering her dress underneath her as she sat down. He sat at the other end, and without thinking he reached out and took her hand. She smiled, wrapping her fingers around his hand as they’d done so many years ago, while running headlong through the orchards next to the castle.
“I’m so very sorry about your father, Caspian. He was always so kind to me. You must miss him dreadfully.” Caspian looked down quickly and she heard him say quietly, “Thank you. Yes, I miss him every minute of every day.” He met her eyes once more, “But we were able to right the wrongs done to him and Narnia, for which I am very grateful.” She smiled at him again, “And here you are, a King! My childhood friend. I really didn’t think you’d remember me.”
»»————————————-———- ⚜ ———————————-————-««
Caspian’s dark brown eyes gazed into yours and he held your hand even tighter. “Of course I remember you! Do you think I’d forget my only friend?! Your visits and the little time we spent together made my life bearable.”
You were shocked, and felt so sad for him. “Oh, Caspian! I can’t have been your only friend, surely?” His eyes filled with tears and he looked down again, “Believe me, you were. I was so lucky that we’d met before my father died, so it would have looked strange if my uncle had banned us from meeting. He kept me totally isolated most of the time. I think he did that so people maybe wouldn’t notice when it was time to kill me.”
Cornelius hadn’t told you it had been this bad for him! Your own eyes were watering now as you thought about the hardships he’d had to face at such a young age. Without giving it much thought, you flung your arms round him and hugged him tightly. His head came to rest on your shoulder and your hand went to the back of his head, stroking his silky hair. His shoulders shook slightly and you knew he was crying, so you just held him until he was ready to sit back from you. He stood up abruptly and turned to look out of the window, a hand swiftly wiping his cheeks dry.
He gave a choked laugh, “I’m so sorry, this was supposed to be a happy reunion and we are both crying,” looking down at you as you also wiped tears away. “I’m sorry, Caspian. I mentioned your father and perhaps I shouldn’t have?” He shook his head, “No, I’m glad that you did. And at least we have now spoken of his passing and can remember and talk about happier times.” You smiled at him, “Yes, I shall enjoy that. Although maybe I should speak firstly about how worried I was on the occasion we came to visit, and you were not there. I asked as many guards and lords as I could where you were, but I was told to stop being a nosy child. My father would say nothing to me either, despite my tantrums!”
Caspian burst out laughing, “Oh I remember your tantrums so well! I’m impressed he didn’t give in to you in the face of one of those!” You slapped him lightly on the arm, also laughing, “Caspian! You’re supposed to be my friend!” He became serious again, “I most certainly am. I’m overjoyed to have you back in my life. So much has happened in the past few years, and there has been so much to do, but rest assured I would have tracked you down eventually.” His hand went to your face, stroking your cheek gently and you felt your breath catch. He looked so handsome. Very much a man now, rather than the adolescent boy you’d once known.
His head moved much closer to yours, and you thought for a moment that he was going to kiss you.
»»————————————-———- ⚜ ———————————-————-««
Caspian suddenly realised what he was about to do, and pulled back sharply. He should not kiss her.
They’d only just met again, but he knew that all his feelings for her were still there. He’d just pushed them down, deep deep down, so that he could carry out what he’d needed to do for Narnia and for his father’s memory.
He’d been in love with her when he was a boy, and now that he was a man - he knew that he still loved her. He’d nearly passed out when he’d seen her again today after being apart from her for so long. All those suppressed feelings had come raging back through his veins in an instant, overwhelming, all-consuming, setting his mind and body alight with a burning passion.
But she’d said he was her friend. So he doubted that she felt the same kind of love for him that he felt for her. He must bear that in mind and act accordingly, no matter how much he wished it wasn’t the case.
Stepping back from her, he let his hand fall from her face and smiled sadly at her.

Note
I hope this follows the rules! But is it okay if I request a scenario where Giorno has a nightmare of turning into Diavolo and S/O comforts him when he wakes up?
My first request in so long, what an honor!
You're surely a fan of this scenario, I've seen you requesting it quite a lot of times.
Either way, let's get into it!
Esci dalla mia testa
06/04/2004
Midnight had just struck, it had already been three years.
Three years since Giovanna had become the new Don of Passione, and since the former had been punished for his actions.
But in reality, time had lost meaning to the young boy years ago. Everything he did, it felt so...Mechanic, so frivolous, simply keeping track of the days in order not to forget an important reunion.
He buried himself under thousands of piles of work, which only seemed to grow bigger and bigger with every day that passed. This was supposed to be his dream, his greatest goal, and he had reached it at such a young age.
But then...Why did he feel so empty?
He was supposed to be happy, after all the sacrifices that had been made to arrive so far, he had to be grateful for everything that's been given to him.
But he couldn't be, because those sacrifices were not his own, because innocent lives had been taken away, because he had come.
He truly was no different than the man whom he had condemned to suffer for all eternity. But he had to clinch his teeth, and keep on going with his head high, for the few people that were still by his side. Most importantly, for his partner.
As everyone around him had found a significant other, pressured by his best friend, he had decided to reluctantly indulge in this so called 'romance'.
And when you two finally met, he felt like a tiny fickle of faith had risen inside of his heart again.
You listened to him, to his struggles, to his doubts, to each one of his complaints like the were the only worries in the world. He failed to express how much you meant to him, after those...'Accidents', he had become even more close-up about his feelings.
You were very well aware of his workaholic tendencies, as most nights, you were the one to ask him to put down all the documents and get some rest
And this...Was one of those.
As you rapidly fell into a deep sleep, exhausted from your own day, you felt a soft hand gently caressing your forehead. You were so warm and comforting, like a puppy, the only one able to give him hope in this twisted world.
But sadly, your presence could not magically make all his guilt and insecurities go away, and he had accepted that.
After contemplating your dreaming figure for a minute, he slowly closed his eyes, wishing to escape, just for a short while, from all those crushing responsibilities and expectations.
His consciousness started to slip away, he felt ready to conclude another day. Until, he heard whispering. Weak, confused, peculiar sounds, he could not understand a word of what those voices were trying to tell him, they were too far from the boy.
But they wouldn't stop. Delicate, constant and unbearable like the sound of a drip of water falling into a sink. They were playing with the Don's patience, a sleeping lion that should not disturbed, unless you wanted to be torn to pieces.
His mind immediately connected the situation to a possible Stand attack, nothing out of his normality, per se, but he was not concerned for himself. You were still peacefully resting, clinging to your sheets, it was a quite cold night. He wouldn't have let a single soul cause any harm to his darling, she was his only true happiness, his sunshine.
In the moment he stepped outside of the bedroom, what he was faced with sent a frozen shiver down his spine, as he brought his hand to his chest, to control his heartbeat.
There were four doors, floating in absolute darkness. A weak stream of light, that seemed to be originated from nothingness, illuminated each one of them singularly.
The whispering got louder and louder, faint giggles could occasionally be heard. The young one turned around to look at the entrance of this cursed place, the one he had just walked through.
But there was nothing there.
And so, like a captured prey that had nothing left to lose, he ventured himself into the first door, only to be met with a monochromatic version of Fugo. He was breathing heavily, desperately sobbing and all curled up on himself, on the shore of the same place where the rest of the gang had decided to betray Passione.
Giorno was standing on top of the water, unable to move a single inch of his body.
"Look at what you did"
A deep voice murmured in his ear. One he hadn't heard in a long time, one he wished he could have erased from his memories, that infected his mind and was more deadly than the sobbing boy's stand.
Diavolo.
"Me? Fugo chose not to leave, it was his own fault if-"
"If he was abandoned by everyone he loved? Do you have any idea of how selfish it sounds?"
The boy hesitated for a brief moment, staring at those warm tears falling into the canal.
"It was just...A temporary matter, he rejoined Passione, he's doing better now"
"My, it must have surely been fun to prove your loyalty to someone who caused the death of half of the people you cared about, after refusing to participate in his little suicide mission"
The blond's legs started to tremble, mantainig his composure was starting to look impossible.
"They...They didn't die because of me, they sacrificed themselves for a noble cause, for making Italy a better place, they wished it as much as I did"
The man contained his laughter, then he continued.
"Is that so? Why don't say that in their faces then?"
The image of the lonely boy disappeared, together with everything in the room. Giorno was back to that black space, but the door was now missing.
And the next one...Had nothing better reserved for him.
He found himself in the island of Sardegna, the only sound that could be heard were the small waves that met with the coast.
He knew perfectly why he was here. He took a closer look at the seaside, there were some footsteps printed on it. He felt a knot in his stomach at the thought of where they would have brought him.
Abbacchio's lifeless body was laying on top of a rock, surrounded by dead flowers. His entire torso had been torn apart, and yet... His corpse was smiling. A tiny, melancholic smile on his purple lips.
"Do you still have the courage to repeat what you said?"
Diavolo began, in a mocking tone.
"When he became part of the Organization, he was at his lowest, he had nowhere else to go, every path he took brought him nothing but sorrow and disappointment. The only thing that gave him comfort was following Bucciarati...And so, with that excuse, I transformed him in one of minions"
The thought of calling out Gold Experience hit Giorno's mind, but he knew that there was no point of lying to himself. The albino was gone, his soul had left his body long ago.
"I don't need you to tell me just how disgusting you are"
He said, his voice was filled with a suffocated rage, as he knelt over to look closer at his former companion.
"Abbacchio couldn't have cared less about killing me, he came with you because Bucciarati did, because he so desperately wanted to follow him, he felt like scum at the thought of no longer having him in his life"
The boy with emerald eyes felt an hand touching him on his shoulder, but there was no one there, except for himself.
"You exploited his dependence from the man, and used at your advantage, just as I did"
He stopped for a brief moment, enjoying the desperation in the other's eyes.
"But at least, he didn't die under my guidance
And with that, the second room disappeared as well. The boy contemplated whether to remain in that hellish void or to move forward, the image of what was waiting on the other side hurt way too much, his juvenile soul was starting to crush.
But he couldn't remain there, it would have meant giving up to Diavolo's twisted games, seeing him break down was exactly what he was waiting for.
He turned the doorknob, when he felt something humid staining his clothes: there was fresh blood streaming from his lady bug pins. The trail that it formed on the ground invited him to follow its path. He knew he couldn't decline, none of what he wanted seemed to matter in this place.
A metallic railing stood in front of him, his entire pins bled so much to the point of consuming themselves. An horrific scream coming from nowhere and everywhere at the same time echoed through the room, as he directed his gaze to the top of the grey construction.
"What a shame...Oh well, he was the most disposable member of the team anyway"
Narancia's corpse was resting among dozens of spikes, his faded orange bandage slipped from his dark hair, landing right next to Giorno's feet.
"Oh Narancia...So young, so naive, just another victim of this unfair world. That's what you're thinking, isn't that right, Giovanna?"
"This is why people like him should not be involved in this business..."
"Mh? And why is that? Childish minds are the easiest to manipulate"
Ignoring his last statement, the other leaned down to pick up the bandage, but his hand went through it. His body was starting to feel dizzy, like it belonged to somebody else.
"Not answering won't make me go away, the damage has already been done, after all"
"Narancia should have NEVER joined Passione in the first place. He could have gone to school...Have a normal life, but-"
"But he died for your cause before he could. What he said before I activated King Crimson melted my heart a little, how cute...He really trusted you that much to the point of thinking that he would have come out of it alive"
The railing emanated a cracking sound. For a second, he was afraid it would have fallen off, causing him to get impaled as well.
"I took away his chance of living an happy, standard life when he decided to work for me, and you did the same, allowing him to come along with the rest of your team"
The small boy suddenly faded away, together with the rest.
"But at least, he didn't die under my guidance"
At last, there it was: only one room left. Despite how deeply he cared about each one of his former team members, the premonition of what would have come next was more painful than everything he's seen so far altogether.
He sat down, staring at the door from a distance, his eyes emptier than the ones of his old allies. They say that eyes are the window of the soul, and nothing else could have been used to describe his inner turmoil. Nothing but a faded, dull green, testimony of all his battle scars and the survivor guilt that he tried so much to repress.
Perhaps his eternal punishment had arrived: having the chance to confront his inner demons, to move on, to show how fearless he was.
...But never truly grasping the idea of freedom, never facing and accepting what really happened, he was never given the time to. So much had oppressed him all at once, he couldn't keep up with it.
He was a child, a child that had to grow too fast.
But then, someone came out of the door. A bittersweet figment of his imagination, that made his heart stop beating for a second.
The one he hadn't seen in years, the one he had tried to subdue the most, the one that showed him for the first time in his life what love was, stood in front of him. There was no hole in his chest, no sign of blood or wounds, a reassuring smile accompanied his face, as he held out his hand to the grieving kid.
"What are you doing all alone in here? The others are worried for you. Let's not make them wait any longer, shall we?"
Giorno ignored his help, his gaze was stuck on that endless floor. He didn't have the courage to look at the other, his presence alone felt like a sadistic joke.
He didn't look sad, depressed, miserable... He was just...Tired.
He wanted to cry those tears that he had denied in the last three years, he wanted to yell at that illusion to leave him alone, that wasn't the real Bruno, it couldn't be.
But, as he impeded any of this from coming out, something he didn't think he would have felt in a thousand of years struck him.
Bucciarati hugged him.
A tight, comforting hug like one of a mother, that he was waiting for his child to reciprocate. The latter's breathing became heavier and heavier with every moment that passed, as weak laments rapidly turned into audible sobs.
"There's no reason to be sad now, I'm real, you can feel it, can't you?"
"Y-You...You're here...But h-how is it p-possible?"
The brunette chuckled, the sound of his laughter was more comforting than an angel's voice.
"It isn't"
Giovanna's stand penetrated the man's torso, but its arm...It was not Gold Experience's. It had a checkered red and white pattern that extended in its entirety, and it possessed an amount of physical strength which was out of any possible expectations for the creature able to give life.
"Foolish child, I thought you were better than this, I'd lie if I said I wasn't a bit disappointed"
The sound of Bruno's corpse falling to the ground resonated through that empty space, as the last door vanished. A puddle of blood originated from his horrible injury, it was big enough for the boy to see his reflection in.
"You are no better than me under any point of view. We took advantage of his kindness, we used him as a simple pawn for our own gain. The only difference between us, is that I was not manipulating enough to convince him to join my side voluntarily. He was a tool to the both of us, but you were the one who caused his demise"
The mirror that had been created showed two people, but the transparent figure of Diavolo immediately ceased to be visible. The only one left was Giorno, though his reflection seemed to mutate with every second that passed.
His blond curls started to change shape, turning into a fuchsia mess, with dirty green stains on it. His eyes had a killer, maniacal look inside of them, his pupils got smaller in horror. His entire body structure was different. He looked older, more muscular, his clothes, too, were no longer his own.
"Mista loved him, and you killed him"
"Fugo loved him, and you killed him"
"Trish loved him, and you killed him"
"Narancia loved him, and you killed him"
"Abbacchio loved him, and you killed him"
"You loved him, and you killed him"
...
"Giorno? Giorno please, wake up!"
You screamed, your sleep was interrupted by the sound of your boyfriend hyperventilating, as he desperately held you to himself, still trapped in that horrible dream.
You sighed in relief when he abruptly opened his eyes, so swollen and red from all the tears he's shed.
"Another nightmare, uh?"
You asked, gently caressing his back to try and calm him down, he was as vulnerable as a baby that runs to his parents after having a bad dream. Waking up in the middle of the night to comfort him is something you had grown accustomed to, but you had never seen him this shaken up.
He slightly nodded in response, grabbing the top of your pajamas. You put an hand behind his head, making him rest on your chest, and kissed him softly on his forehead.
You could hear him murmuring something, you couldn't tell wherever he was talking to you, or to himself.
"I-I'm sorry...I'm sorry...I'm s-so sorry..."
He repeated like a broken record, you could barely make out what he was trying to say.
"Tesoro, you've done nothing wrong, there's no one you owe your apologizes to"
The boy raised his head slightly, intertwining your fingers with his, he needed to feel sure that this was not another tremendous trick of his mind.
"See? I'm here, you don't have to be afraid. I know that you feel unworthy of my feelings, but there is no one out there that deserves love more than you do. Nobody is perfect, Giorno, you did everything that was in your power to help them"
"But I...I was the one w-who put them in danger in the first place"
"No, you were not. You all shared the same ideals, you saved them from the oppression they were put in"
As you swept those remaining drops away from his face, you could still feel his entire body shaking like a dried leaf in a windy day of autumn.
"N-None of this would have happened if I didn't come along..."
"Exactly, none of them would have known what it meant to be free. I...Understand that the sacrifices that were made are not easy to forget, but blaming yourself like this...Do you really think that's what they would have wanted?"
Not receiving an answer, you laid down once again, still holding him in your arms. You forced a tiny smile, kissing him delicately on his lips, and whispered in his ear that everything would have been okay.
But, in reality...You felt you were trying to reassure yourself as well. This was not something you could have solely resolved through staying by his side, healing from this would have taken a lot of time, but...At least, you could offer some temporary safety, and it seemed to be enough for the time being.
In fact, after some minutes, everything seemed to cease. The boy fell asleep once again, this time with the knowledge that you were there to protect him.
You sighed, praying for your darling to finally find some peace.

this is my first time doing a Mexican Reader so bare with me here y’all
KARASUNO AND AOBA JOHSAI WITH A MEXICAN MANAGER
Pronouns: She/Her but for the most part You.
Mexican! Reader
KARASUNO
Tumblr media
The Karasuno team was not used to having 3 managers. Let alone a foreign one. Since you arrived from Mexico, you had introduced yourself to Tsukishima and Yamaguchi who had thankfully taken a liking to you. After a few months of getting used to the culture you saw that they were both apart of the Volleyball club. At that point you knew you just had to come and and check it out!
The first time you came wasn’t really much of a greeting. Yamaguchi had lended you his notes since you had been absent and you wanted to return them before the next day so you went to the gym and saw....well....boys. Lots of them. In a millisecond- all of their eyes were on you.
“Um...hi? I have this for Yamaguchi- where is he exactly?” You asked. You had seen some of these people around like the orange haired boy, and the black haired one as they were constantly together.
“Oh yeah he’s probably in the club room, I’ll go get him for you!” The grey haired boy said as he gave a concerning grin and ran off, leaving you with the collection of eyes watching your every move.
“So! You guys like volleyball...I do too! That’s cool” You beamed, trying to create conversation. The orange haired boy bounced over.
“YOU DO?! DO YOU PLAY?!” He asked excitedly, which made you feel a little relieved.
“No I don’t, but I used to watch all the time, I love the game.” You responded with a smile as he nodded his head in understanding.
“I’m Hinata Shoyo! I’m a middle blocker!” He grinned as he waited for the natural response to his position, but it never came. You just smiled and gave him a calm response. “Cool!”
Hinata felt himself feeling a little more shy. Maybe it was because you weren’t in disbelief or because he suddenly realized that you were a lot closer than he thought, but he shook it off and backed up as Yamaguchi came out of the club room.
“Hey y/n! Guys this is y/n! She transferred here a few months ago.” He explained as you gave them all a wave like you just came. Despite being there for 5 minutes. “Yo!”
Once you left Tanaka and Nishinoya felt their souls return to their body as they ran to Tadashi.
“YAMAGUCHI! YOU KNOW HER?! HOW?! IS SHE SINGLE?!”
“DID YOU SEE HER SMILE?! SHE’S SO BEAUTIFUL” They ranted, stars in their eyes as the green-haired boy chuckled just a little.
“She’s in me and Tsukishima’s class, pretty smart if you ask me.” He responded.
How you got in as a manager was a pretty simple task. Yachi was supposed to take over for Kiyoko but she found herself struggling with the technical parts of being a manager rather than interactions and moral. And that- is when you stepped in eager to help in any way possible. So you did.
The boys already liked you when you came into the gym the first time, I mean after getting Tsukishima to tolerate you it was simply a downhill battle and it’s not like anybody was against another manager as long as they got to play.
These guys were extremely protective of you. You were this foreign first year who oh so easily volunteered to take on the job of helping handeling these kids, how could they not love you?
And that protection lasted EVERYWHERE. Somebody flirts with you? Daichi already there. Somebody insults you or your food? Nishinoya already got their number and will be telling them it’s on sight.
The girls love you! The girls nights are weekly because where could you find people to complain about and laugh at the boys to in secret? You shared with them recipies for your Chicken with Mole, and they helped make you some one time. You made the rice while they tried a hand at making the Mole and while they...struggled...it came out good and it was the effort that they valued the most!
Now since you’re Mexican you ate what you were familiar with for the most part. It wasn’t that you didn’t like Japanese food, of course not! But while you lived in Japan you didn’t have your family with you and food was the only way you could stay connected. So in your way of melting together the two cultures you sometimes made things for the team, including the coaches!
The team won a game successfully? No injuries or mishaps? Horchatas for everybody at your house no hesitation. Hinata actually got double digits on his test? Give that boy some of Enchiladas of his choice asap! The team loved your cooking! And you enjoyed giving them a taste of your home, it was a special thing between you all!
Sometimes on your bad days you would struggle with being the person you usually were. You seemed quieter and more timid when giving advice in tips. You were quite frankly, hiding in a shell the whole time. So when that happened the first time, the team decided to do some team building! They took you to an arcade [despite you refusing multiple times] and you played games all day. Watching Tanaka try and convince you that he is an amazing dancer definitly brightened your day. And even if he made a fool out of himself he didn’t mind. His lovely manager was smiling, what more could he ask for?
Overall- they all like to have you around and don’t know what they would do without you. probably die.
AOBA JOHSAI
Tumblr media
Now with this team? It’s spoiling galore.
The first time they met you was when you were a second year transferring from Mexico and that already made you stand out from everybody else but that and the fact that you were somehow friends with Iwaizumi? Ohhh that set it off.
First off- you were a second year. Second off- not even Oikawa knew about you. What is happening?!
It turns out, you had met Iwaizumi because you lived near his family and on numerous occasions had asked him where everything was around here are as you walked to school together. You went to a separate place in the school when he went to go meet the team so you never met him until the night when Tooru slept over Hajime’s house and saw you knock on his door the next morning ready to walk.
Tooru opened the door cautiously wondering why you were outside his best-friends house in the uniform for their school. Wait- were you confessing? Did you find out his adresss and go to confess? He had to let you down easy- simple.
“Hi! I’m looking for Iwaizumi?” You said. You knew who this was you weren’t oblivious, but you had never met before so you had to introduce yourself.
“Look, I don’t know what you’re here for but Iwaizumi is not looking for a relationship right now because he is way to busy trying to pull up his trash gra- AH!” He squealed as Iwaizumi choked him by the back of his shirt.
“Shut up. Is it time already?” He asked you with a completely different tone than the one he had used with Tooru. Were you perhaps-dating?! After you nodded, Iwaizumi invited you inside while he got changed. Tooru started at you with wide eyes before walking over to you.
“So....are you and lwa-Chan secretly dating?!” He said as he got closer, with a wide grin on his face. You had known he was a character but he was really something right now.
“No?! Not at all actually I- I’m new? To Japan, I’ve been here for a few months and he’s been helping me figure out where everything is in this neighborhood.” You quickly explained hoping he would back up at least a little bit. It was as if he heard you and backed up.
“Oh- so what’s your name then pretty lady?” He said grinning. You were a little flustered and brushed it off to tell him. “That’s a beautiful name. Where you from then? If you’re new?” He asked and you explained you were from Mexico.
“Wow! I know a few words in Spanish!” He said as he recited the most basic words you had ever heard and somehow still goofed up the pronunciation. But he seemed so proud you almost couldn’t tell him he was wrong. But you did.
You became the manager because you seemed to be one of the only people Oikawa would listen to, because Iwaizumi listened to you. It was a cycle.
Once the team met you it was like love- at first sight~ You- this girl who has somehow made it so that people magically do what they’re supposed to do? Pls come immediately and shower these boys in affection.
They’re aggressively affectionate. Iwaizumi gives you headpats all the time for n o reason. None. We can all tell he favors you because even when you joke with Matsukawa about him and basically makes fun of you he’ll take it because your so nice.
You want a drink? Iwai will give you 10. Feeling a bit lonely? Matsukawa will give up his playful nature and give you a hug for as long as you’d like. Oikawa’s fangirls getting under your skin? Kunimi’s clearing that place out asap goodbye.
One time when the team was bumed out because they lost a match against Shiratorizawa, you made them all Horchatas and they were immediately like “...what is this ma’am” and you had to laugh, and they were all sitting so confused but smiling because your laugh was quite cute to them [loud or not] and you had to explain that it contained rice actually, as well as some nut milk and cinnamon [however you like them, they’d probably inhale it no matter what] and they enjoyed those things so much you brought them for every single last game until their last one.
One time, Kyotani actually asked if you could make him one for his birthday! He was so timid about it because he didn’t want to admit how much he liked it- but he was desperate. There was nothing worse than talking to people but you always seemed so nice to him, no matter how he reacted. So he asked. And you actually made him some as well as some Tacos de Papa that you had made the night before from Lunch. He graciously excepted and even listened as you explained how much you enjoyed making them because of the process and how you were happy he liked them. He even laughed and you two talked for a while that day.
Another time, you had been feeling homesick and you couldn’t take time off from the boys so you went to the practice anyways and everybody could visually tell you were out of it. You weren’t scolding them for misbehaving, and even let Kunimi leave early [he was going to leave either way] and in the end everybody was just worried. Who hurt you? Why were you so quiet? And WHERE were the drinks you had promised? A lot of questions were left unanswered because they immediately wanted to make you happier.
They decided they were just gonna talk to you. And they did. All of them- even Kyotani- sat and listened as you explained how you were feeling and it settled in for them that this is not your original home, and your family isn’t even here for you. It’s only natural you would get sad sometimes. So they forcefully sent Tooru off to get you a drink and all proceeded to abuse you with affection. It was hugs all over, people laying on your back, your legs, your side, everywhere. But you felt a bit better.
A new family is still a family. And these guys, were just that.
FIN
ok so im black im not Mexican so I was trying to look up foods and stuffs so tell me if I was like too much or gave off too little pls 😭 it feels so cringe to me idk, anyways thank you to @mrs-oikawa it won’t let me @ you but she submitted a request for this so I hope you enjoy! Who said I’m out of your league?
Tumblr media
A/N: I wasn’t sure how to end this one so let me know what you all think! Feed back is greatly appreciated! Also I totally had to use this gif, his confidence is unmatched lol
Request:  Can you please do a William Nylander imagine where you meet the team for the first time and they tease him about you being out of his league or something. Thanks!
For the entirety of your six month relationship, you had always assumed that Willy was out of your league. He was a professional hockey player, the Swedish-Canadian version of Thor, not to mention that his personality could impress even the strictest mother on the planet. You were, for all intents and purposes, average. You had a normal job, normal friends, you considered your looks to be normal, and you had a normal, by your own standards, upbringing. Your personality was probably the one thing you were confident could hold a flame to Willy’s but even then, he had the ability to be so selfless at times you wondered if you were dating an angel.
Willy on the other hand thought that you were the most amazing thing to ever walk this planet and he took every single opportunity to tell you just that. You did something different with your hair? “Wow babe, you look amazing.” You wore new clothes that you just got? “Damn baby you should model for that company.” There was never a shortage of compliments that came from him about you.
Which was probably why you didn’t feel as nervous as you should about meeting his teammates for the first time. You knew that Willy loved you, there was never a doubt in your mind, so you figured even if today went horribly wrong in every aspect you still had that going for you. You also had heard wonderful things about his teammates, from Willy himself but also the fans. It wasn’t like you hadn’t interacted with them in some capacity, they had heard your voice over the phone or briefly over the headset when Willy joined them for video games. You were pretty sure Willy had talked about you to them, at least in some capacity, so really you should be set up for an easy meeting with all of them.
That’s what you tried to tell yourself anyways, the closer you got to the bar you were meeting the team at the more you felt your hands beginning to sweat. You rubbed them on your jeans for the fifth time, reaching over to lace your fingers with Willy’s as he drove. You thought you were holding your nerves fairly well, you had assured Willy before you left that this was going to be a walk in the park.
Boy were you beginning to eat your words.
“What’s got you so worked up?” He teased, pulling his eyes away from the road momentarily before he returned them to focus on where he was going. “Youre never nervous.”
That was a lie. In fact Willy had seen you nervous on numerous occasions, including the first time you two had ever met. He would be lying if he said he didn’t find it cute. You had a number of nervous ticks that he had picked up on over the last few months. You would bounce your leg while waiting for an event that was causing your nerves to spike or you would bite your lip when deep in thought, as if planning out every option. Your cheeks would heat up, creeping up your neck, when someone called you out on any and you would wave your hand in the air as if physically brushing the nerves away momentarily.
Right now you were expressing all of those ticks, right down to the heat climbing up your neck as you tried to wave your free hand absentmindedly, brushing his words out of the air. It caused Willy to smile, he knew you better than you thought he did. He brought your hand up to his lips, pressing a gentle kiss to the back of it before he focused back on the road again. You would never admit it to him, you liked to be a neutral front but he had seen your nerves spike randomly in the days leading up to today. You had grilled him about his teammates a few times, wanting to make sure you at least had the basics of their names, girlfriends who may or may not be there. It had made Willy laugh, comparing it to you taking notes as if you were about to write a paper on the leafs player.
“You can hide it all you want, but you’re nervous.” He called you out again and you gave him a sharp look, sticking your tongue out at him childishly.
“I’m not nervous, I’m just…” You trailed off, tossing around a number of emotions in your head before you settled on the one. “Worried. These guys are your teammates and your best friends. I know it shouldn’t be that big of a deal, because you love me and that’s important but it’s going to make things awkward if they don’t like me.”
You turned to look at him, letting your words settle in the car as Willy parked, your stomach dropping to your feet as you realized you were there. Everything felt so much more real now that you were looking at the sign of the bar, peering in the front window you could see Zach and Rasmus, already surrounded by other players.
“Hey..” Willy’s soft voice pulled your eyes away from the window and back to him. “It’s going to be okay. They’re going to love you, I mean it’s not like I haven’t hyped you up. Just be yourself, if you’re uncomfortable after like an hour then we can go, okay?” He assured you, giving your hand another kiss.
“Okay, let’s go.” You smiled a little, grabbing your purse and climbing out, stopping in front of the car to wait for him before you both made your way inside. Your stomach flipping once more as he held the door for you, following you inside and guiding you over to the table.
“About time, we were wondering if you got lost on your way.” Zach teased, causing Willy to roll his eyes.
“Yeah, yeah. I get lost one time and you never let me live it down.” Willy laughed, pulling out a chair for you to sit down in before taking one at your side. “This is Y/N. Y/N, this is Zach, Rasmus, Auston…”
You followed his finger as he pointed to each player who was there, as well as their own guests, mentally trying to commit them all to memory. You were pretty good when it came to names and faces, but the nerves weren’t helping, you could almost feel your hands shaking a little.
“Hi, it’s nice to meet you all.” You waved a little, smiling softly as conversation picked up, Willy holding your hand under the table.
~
It was as though you had known these people your whole life, you fell into conversation easily, answering questions about your job, hobbies, and your family. Willy kept a close eye on you the entire time, making sure that you weren’t getting overwhelmed by the amount of people who were trying to get to know you all at once. He smiled a little as he watched you engage in a conversation with Mitch about puppies and which breed was superior. He hadn’t been worried about you meeting the guys, he knew you would get along well and they would probably end up liking you more than him.
In his mind it was impossible to not like, you were the sweetest person he had ever crossed paths with, with the exception of maybe his mom. You were constantly doing what you could to help others, taking care of him in the smallest ways like putting his laundry away after a road trip, making his favorite dinner after a rough game, or making sure he followed the trainer’s instructions even if he tried to avoid them. Not to mention that you seemed to make friends everywhere the two of you went, you just had the type of energy that drew people to you.
“Hey, I’m going to grab another drink with the girls, did you want anything?” You asked, pulling him out of his thoughts as you stood up and he smiled a little. “Sure, surprise me.”
He gave your hand one more squeeze as he watched you branch away from him with some of the girls, making your way up to the bar to order your drinks. It was like a proud parent watching their kid go off to school for the first time, it was a sign to Willy that you really were comfortable around his friends now.
“Dude, she is so out of your league.” Mitch snorted, taking a sip of his drink as he watched Willy look after you with that same lost puppy dog expression you had been describing about your own dog only moments ago.
Willy felt his cheeks heat up as he tried to hide his face in the last remnants of his drink, he should have known the second they had him alone they would say something to him.
“I mean seriously, she’s like a walking angel. How did you land her?” Zach asked, joining in on the chirping of their young teammate. Everyone was happy that Willy had found someone who seemed to match his energy, knowing that the blonde deserved the best.
“It’s my undeniable charm boys, maybe you should try it sometime.” He smirked a little, firing back at his teammates as they all erupted into chuckles around him.
“Well if she ever wants a real man, let her know I’m always around.” Rasmus teased, reaching over to mess up Willy’s hair playfully as Willy smacked his hands away.
“She wants a man not a man child.” Willy fired back before he felt a hand on his shoulder, another drink being placed in front of him. “Got your usual!”
He smiled as he saw you sitting back down beside him, shooting a look to the boys to behave, he didn’t mind their chirping but he didn’t know how you would take it seeing as how this was your first time meeting them and while it was going well, he didn’t want it to ruin anything.
~
The rest of the afternoon continued in a similar manner, the conversation flowed easily, and any time you stepped away from the group Willy was hit with another round of chirping about how you were out of his league. It was all in good fun and by the end of the afternoon you had begun to pick up on some of the chirping that carried over into the normal conversation, firing back at the boys with a smirk.
“I mean, at least Willy knows what he’s doing, when was the last time a girl came back to you after a night?” You shot back at Auston innocently, sipping your drink as Willy and the boys burst into a loud round of laughter, accepting the high fives and the fist bump from Auston.
“On that note, I think we better get going, gotta get my girl home and away from you hooligans.” Willy smiled, throwing his tip money on the table as he helped you up and you waved your goodbyes to the group.
“Bye Y/N! You know where to find us if you ever want an upgrade!” You heard the boys called, laughing as you and Willy made your way back out to the car. The ride home was nice, you were buzzing as you filled Willy in on the conversations he hadn’t been a part of. This continued when you got home too, jabbering away as you made your way upstairs, stripping out of your jeans and sweater, tugging a pair of his sweatpants from the drawer as he sat on the bed, staring at you.
“Damn you are so out of my league.” He muttered to himself, smiling as he watched you glow in relief of his friends approving of you.
“What? Who said I was out of your league?” You frowned a little, setting yourself between his legs and playing with his hair as you looked down at him, his hands resting on your sweatpant clad hips.
“Just the guys chirping at me, don’t worry about it but they do have a point. I am dating a literal angel.” He smiled as he could tell that the heat was rising up your neck to your cheeks again, in an attempt to hide your blush you shook your head. These were the things you usually thought about Willy, not things you were used to him saying about you.
“Oh please, have you looked in the mirror Nylander?” You hummed, pressing a gentle kiss to his lips so he couldn’t argue against you. “Maybe we aren’t out of each other’s leagues but just in a league all our own.”
He smiled against your lips, giving your hips a gentle squeeze. “That’s a pretty elite league to be in, I must’ve gotten called up when I started dating you.”
“You’re running my compromise!” You laughed and pushed his shoulder, hardly enough to budge him. “Now, I had fun today but can we get pizza or something and just chill? My social battery is drained.”
He smiled and stood up, now towering over you gave him the advantage to press a kiss to your forehead.
“Your wish is my command, Princess.”

From Bleak to Bright - Part Eleven
All other parts on on my masterlist, link provided below.
AN: soooo um i think this may be a little tension relieving ;;;;)))
Warnings: angst, language, SMUT (18+ ONLY)
MASTERLIST - SERIES MASTERLIST
PART ELEVEN
** Two years later, Manhattan, New York **
You scrolled down on your phone, pretending to actually be doing something, while you waited for Natasha. A group of teenagers had come into the cafe, loud, laughing, challenging each other to some stupid fight. You rolled your eyes, chewing on some gum, making sure they kept their distance with you. Who knew what those kids had touched. Ew.
Nat texted you that she was around the corner, and to keep from staying a second longer with the obnoxiously loud teens, you all but ran out the cafe. You marched down the street, spring air brushing through your hair. There was a smell between a wood fire and flowers that drafted from God knows where. The sun was high up, the afternoon in Manhattan hot. Many people walked by wearing shorts or tank tops. Summer was approaching. It brought a smile to your face.
But that smile soon faded as you walked by the newspaper outlet and caught sight of the title.
TWO YEARS SINCE NEW YORK ATTACK
You gulped, biting on the inside of your cheek. It had already been two years since the last time you’d spoken to him? It seemed like way longer. It seemed as if you’d walked into a parallel universe. No one ever talked about him, least of all your friends and family. Least of all you.
You shook your head, brushing away the thoughts that brought you back to all those years ago. You shook away an image of a loft, of a coffee table full of leather-bound books, of hands on your body.
“Hey!”
You looked up, Natasha standing before you in a trendy outfit that made her look like a runway model. She had huge sunglasses perched on her nose, pink bubblegum in her mouth.
“Ready?” she asked.
“Yeah!” you answered, trying to hide the newspapers with your body, but you saw how her chin dipped when you walked by. She would surely see the titles and tell your brother. Dammit. You’d been doing so well.
Technically, you’d been doing fine.
Ever since the Avengers had defeated Loki and Thor had brought him back to Asgard, you’d never seen or heard of him. You’d gone to a few rounds of therapy, mostly with psychologists who dealt in soulmates, and after a few months of isolation, Bruce had let you go. It had been a relief to have your phone back, your liberties, your God damn car.
When you’d gotten the keys to your apartment back, it had felt final. But as the last people invited to your “homecoming” celebration had dwindled out, you’d found yourself in a pit.
Everything was muted. Yes, you still saw colors, but without the person behind those colors, you just drifted. Yes, you were happy, somewhat, but whenever you saw couples together, something in your chest burned, like a slow leaking flame. You’d never be like them. Even though you’d heard stories about people marrying someone who wasn’t their soulmate, the simple thought of having another man - except Loki - in your life sent shivers down your spine.
“I heard they got free donuts,” Nat said, bending her head close to yours. You giggled, but there was no heart it in.
She was bringing you to a stupid singles night out. Even though she briefly skirted on the fact that you’d already found your soulmate, she said it was an opportunity “to get out there”.
Hell, maybe it would make you forget Loki, although you highly doubted.
The night went on in a sort of downward spiral. It started off really fast and funny, with music and drinks, and a lot of men fighting to come to talk to you and the hot redhead. But with every passing guy, the more they didn’t look like him, the more they said things that set your teeth on edge, the duller you felt.
Like being emptied slowly, hand by hand, touch by touch.
By the time Nat brought you back to your apartment, you could barely manage a smile.
You tried, once again, fixing your stupid leaking tap but decided against it and went straight to bed. Because of that stupid newspaper, you had nightmares, plagued by a dark-haired prince wearing green and gold armor.
In the morning, you ignored the tap and went to work. When you came back, the tap wasn’t leaking and you thanked your lucky guardian because if you had to hear one more drop, you’d lose it.
The next night, coming home after drinks with your brother, the windowpane was fixed.
You knew something was wrong when your squeaking front door slid on perfectly oiled hinges.
Someone had been in your apartment. Multiple times.
Stepping in your apartment that night, eight nights after the tap was “fixed”, you looked around in the darkness. The shadows seemed denser, more menacing, as if they hadn’t been standing there every night, ever.
You looked at your tiny kitchen. Nothing seemed amiss. You checked the lock, but it locked on its own with no problem. Even better than before.
You couldn’t actually complain about your little home invader because they had fixed all the problems that were slowly driving you to the brink. But you hadn’t said a word to anybody, not even Bruce, because deep down, you knew who’d be waiting for you one night, eventually.
The bathroom light had been changed. It used to flicker all the time, giving you the creeps while you took a shower. But now it opened wildly bright and stayed there.
There. That was the daily change.
You changed in the bathroom, taking a hot, quick shower, keeping the door firmly locked. You felt watched as you padded across your apartment in your jammy shorts and tank top, your hair a wet rope down your back.
The cabinet where you kept your mugs had a faulty knob that had cut you on more than one occasion. It was polished now.
Hands trembling, you pivoted in your kitchen, fingers white-knuckling the countertop.
“I know it’s you,” you murmured, feeling your heart throbbing in your throat. The shadows seemed to listen. “I know what you’ve been doing.”
You apartment seemed to breathe, swallowing your words, digesting them. But nothing came back to you. You kept expecting the shadows to linger, to move, to break away, but everything remained still, quiet.
Your heart plummeted.
You went to bed looking out the window, noticing just how clean it was for an apartment in downtown Manhattan.
You had dreams of him, vivid dreams. You swore you could feel fingers on your cheek the next morning.
It’s when you walked in to the scent of flowers and found a bouquet of your favorite in the kitchen that you truly lost it. It took everything in you not to pick it up and smash the glass vase against the wall. There was no note, but just the fact that now, he wasn’t being so subtle about him breaking and entering, made your heart bash wildly against your ribs.
But you knew what he was doing. He was trying to get to you without the others knowing. He’d surely scourged the place for microphones or cameras, just like you’d done two years ago, and found none. He knew the Avengers, or anybody watching, wouldn’t know he’d been here. And just the fact that you’d told no one about the mysterious repairs in your flat meant everything for him.
You turned, flowers at your back. The shadows seemed to be smiling. They knew he was here.
You were older now, wiser. You knew how to play his little games.
“I’m not afraid,” you said to the dark. The curtains had been drawn in the living room, you noticed, as you made your way there. He’d wanted this to be done in private.
“I know you’re here,” you continued, inching to the windows, intent on pulling them back to shed some moonlight in your apartment. “You can... you can talk to me,” you whispered, heart heavy and harsh in your ribs. Your hands had begun to shake the closer you got to the curtains.
When you wrenched them open, exposing the city beneath you, you could barely take your eyes off the horizon.
Because you saw it.
The flicker.
His face there and then not, your heart wrenching in your chest, causing an audible gasp from your lips to echo in the room.
You felt the heat of him at your back. “I thought you were unafraid?” he asked, his voice rumbling, something vicious seizing your insides with a hot grip.
Something akin to a puzzle piece clicked back into place at the sound of his voice. You could breathe lighter now, see colors more vividly, hear the world around you clearly. All this time, you’d suffocated, been drowning, and now you weren’t.
“I’m not,” you answered, but neither you nor he missed the way your voice trembled.
You felt the warmth of his hand on your hip, saw the reflection of him flicker in the window as he leaned closer, his lips brushing the space beneath your ear. Fire lit everywhere on your flesh as he brought himself flush with you.
He inhaled. “I’ve missed you,” he mumbled against your skin, the sound of it vibrating in your bones.
“Where...” you licked your lips and restarted. “Where have you been?”
His other hand braced just under your throat, long fingers seeping warmth through the fabric of your t-shirt.
“Away,” he mumbled. He slid his hand from your hip to the sliver of skin under the hem of your t-shirt and you hummed involuntarily. His touch was like no other’s. “You’re so soft,” he mumbled.
You tried not to forget that he’d left you there on the floor two years ago, but the way his body fit against yours made any logical thought seep from your brain.
“I’ve dreamt of you for so long,” he drawled, making it seem as if you’d been separated for an eternity. “I’ve dreamt of your eyes. Your voice. The way your body fits right onto mine.” He shifted slightly, pressing you harshly against him. “I’ve not the heart to take another woman to bed. I want it to be you.”
His words sent a strange heat dripping down into your belly, heavy and wanting. Your mouth parted, and the hand Loki had against your chest slipped up until his thumb pressed against your mouth. “How sweet of you,” you said against his thumb.
He chuckled lowly. “I can show you sweet,” he said.
“I rather you practice restraint,” you mumbled, even though deep down, you meant none of it.
He chuckled again, shaking his head, lowering his hand back so it lay lightly around your throat. Then his chuckle turned into a groan, his force deepening. “Y/n,” but now his voice was pleading, like a man who’d been deprived of everything. “Please. I’ve thought of you all this time. Don’t push me away. Not you.”
The last part made you frown, but you nonetheless pushed from him, turning to face him. He had deep, dark circles under his eyes, his face ashen as if he hadn’t slept in a millennia. His hair was slightly longer, curling along his jaw, hiding his ears. He wore a white t-shirt and black slacks, but he was cold as you pressed your fingers against his shoulders.
“Okay,” you whispered. You tried not to maintain eye contact because the haunted look in his green eyes made you sick.
He bent forward slightly, grasping your face between his huge, warm hands. The first brush of his lips was soft, sending butterflies scuttling across your belly. But then he gripped your face, bringing you to him, and kissed you like he was a starving man and you were his reprieve.
A strangled moan left his throat, his lips molding to yours, driving you backwards until your spine hit the window. One hand went to the glass to soften your fall, but he didn’t let up his rhythm. You could barely keep up anyway.
He kept kissing you so harshly, delving his tongue between your teeth, angling your head back to kiss you deeply, that every rational thought in you just went to dust.
You gripped his back, marveling at the strong muscle, bringing him flush against you. One hand went to his hair, knotting in the raven locks, tugging until you swore you’d hurt him. But he kept kissing you, hands venturing to your hips, sliding over your ass, gripping your thighs and hauling you up.
On instinct, you wrapped your legs around his waist, feeling his arousal just where you wanted him, and he spun you away from the window. How he moved with such eloquence as he devoured your mouth befuddled you, but when your ass found the countertop and Loki pressed himself between your legs, your brain fizzled. A whole jar of butterflies now flew in your belly.
He broke from the kiss momentarily to grasp your breasts, kneading them in his hands, marveling at the sight.
“Restraint, Loki,” you mumbled breathlessly, lips swollen.
One of his brows furrowed, but he went right back to kiss you, holding your tits in his hands, then moving to grip your thighs with such strength it should have hurt.
“I can’t stop,” he breathed between kisses, holding the back of your head. “I want you. I want you so fucking bad.”
You squeezed your eyes shut harshly, ignoring the red alarms in your head. Because it was him. Because it was him, always him, and now that he was here, touching you almost everywhere, his scent invading your senses, you never wanted him to go.
He pulled your head back and kissed down your neck, over the swell of your breast, taking one nipple lightly between his teeth. A gurgled moan left your throat, Loki holding your head back, exposing everything to him.
“No bra?” he grumbled against your skin, his tongue soothing the ache on your nipple.
You just breathed in response, your legs clenching against his arms.
He chuckled against your body. His left hand, the free one, slid down the length of your chest until he took one finger to lightly circle you through your pants.
You gasped, jolting in his grasp, his mouth possessively clamping shut on your nipple.
“Eager,” he hummed. He was so warm, smelled so fucking good, that the second time he applied pressure and circled his fingers, you all but moaned for everyone to hear. He teased you some more, licking and pleasing you all through your clothing.
Then his mouth left your hardened nipple and traveled up to your ear, where the warmth of his breath made you shiver. “If I can do this to you,” he whispered, circling your core through your pants. “Imagine how it’ll feel when I fuck you.”
His words made you want to clench your thighs together, to keep the heat and pressure there, but his body was still between your legs. He chuckled, biting your neck, hard, knowing it would leave a mark. He yanked your head forward until your eyes met his.
“I can feel just how much you want me,” he mumbled, hiding his face in the crook of your neck, inhaling. “I can smell it.”
You rocked once against his hand, eliciting a groan from him as your thigh briefly brushed him through his pants. He was hard. Wanting. The hand behind your hand squeezed until it hurt, but when he soothed his tongue against your neck, circling your clit, you lost yourself in him again.
“Y/N,” he murmured, chanting your name like a prayer. You were almost there and you couldn’t believe it. You rocked against his hand, biting your lip, and when he saw that, he brought your mouth into a breathtaking kiss. “Cum against me,” he said through each kiss. “Cum.” It was a command.
You squeezed your eyes, grinding against his circling hand, and when he licked your neck, you all but came apart with a moan. Loki quickly kissed you, swallowing your sounds of pleasure as he slowly, leisurely circled you through your pants. Your legs shaking, you trembled against him until his fingers stopped and he brought his forehead to yours.
“Run away with me,” he whispered. “Let me ravage you every night, y/n, please.”
Lost in the dizzying aftermath of your orgasm, all you could do was breathe, eyes closed. You fisted one hand in his shirt, feeling his heart beating savagely under his breastbone.
You tilted your head up, meeting his gaze.
“No,” you said.

Under Pressure.
Supercorp, Kara Danvers x Daughter!Reader, Lena Luthor x Daughter!Reader.
Word count: 2340.
“You have to pay more attention!” Kara says landing in the backyard. You make an annoyed sound, landing right next to her.
“I was paying attention.” You throw your hands up. You’ve been hearing this for five minutes now and you’re done.
“And still you nearly dropped it.” She follows you inside the house, and you make your way to the kitchen trying to lose her. “Are you listening?”
“Yes, momma. I’m listening. I have super hearing, so-”
“Ok, don’t be funny. You wanted to join more Supergirl missions and I went against my own principle of waiting until you’re 18, and then you almost dropped the most fundamental thing for our mission.”
“But I didn’t.”
“That’s not the point.”
“What is the point, then?” You huff, upset.
“I can’t bring you to missions if you’re not going to take it seriously.” Oh, so that’s her point. You should’ve known it was too good to be true. Lena said it was ok if you still went supering with Kara, but you know, deep inside, that wasn’t exactly how she was feeling about this. You know Kara, you know when she doesn’t actually mean something. And this is her not meaning a word she is saying to you.
“I call bullshit!”
“LANGUAGE!” She interrupts and you roll your eyes.
“I didn’t nearly drop it. I was paying attention the entire time and I can recite the entire conversation beginning to end. Besides-” You shrug. “Had I dropped it, I would be able to fix it on the spot, because I made it myself.” You look at her, crossing your arms. “So, why can’t you bring me to missions? The truth, Kara Danvers. Remember that we don’t do lies in this house.” You dare, earning a sigh from her instead of an actual answer.
“I guess you can still come.”
“Wow, don’t look so excited!” She doesn’t. She looks the opposite. Like she thought that her speech would work and she didn’t expect you to bite back. “And you didn’t answer the question, anyways.”
“There’s no reason-” Kara starts, but stops when you raise an eyebrow at her. “Ok, fine. Your mom thinks you need to focus more on other stuff.”
“Of course she does.” You narrow your eyes at Kara, looking deep inside hers. “What do you think I should do?”
“Focus on other-I-I think-” That’s how she leaves the sentence and you turn around, grabbing water and making your way to your bedroom. Before you leave the kitchen, though, you look behind with a sad smile.
“I won’t bother you with my presence anymore.” She tries to argue, but you’re too far away, and you pretend you can’t hear her.
You knew it. Lena tried to play it cool about you getting a bad grade, but you know her, you know Luthors. It’s not that easy and it’s not that simple. They don’t fail, they don’t raise quitters, they don’t accept nothing less than 100% at all times (or more).
Lucky for you, you had never failed anything before. But now, Lena’s true colors are shining and you can expect much more fire power coming. And you are correct.
“Um, what are you doing?” Lena asks, when she opens your bedroom door, and you look up from the game you’re playing on your videogame. You don’t answer, because it’s pretty obvious, you just blink at her, for her to go on. “Shouldn’t you be studying? Kara said you went on a mission with her this afternoon.”
“Yes, I did.” You agree, pausing the game, to look at her properly. “But it was earlier today and I already did all of my homework, and worked on a robotics project I had, so-” You show her the videogame.
“Great.” Except that she doesn’t look convinced. “Aren’t you grounded?”
“Yeah?” You ask, confused.
“Game.” She shows you her hand and you breathe deep placing your videogame on her hand. “If you have time to play, you have time to clean your bedroom.” She is almost closing the door, when she opens again and looks at you. “Dinner in 20, bedroom cleaned before it.”
You don’t answer, so she closes the door and you shuffle around in bed, upset. Too good to be true. You should’ve known.
The week goes on as you were expecting to. Everywhere you look, there’s Lena Luthor. It’s been getting kind of hard to ignore her constant presence. Now the great mother Luthor is back again and man, how you hate the great mother Luthor.
“Remember-” It’s Wednesday, she is dropping you off at school, and she doesn’t even have to say the words for you to know what’s coming after. You heard this every day this week.
“Focus your attention on your teacher’s voice.” You mimic her voice, and she looks at you, taking her eyes off the road.
“Are you making fun of me?” She asks, annoyed, and you roll your eyes, looking to the other side. “Because I don’t think is funny nor-”
“The car.” You say, pointing to the front, where the car in front of yours just stopped.
“Appropriate for you to be making-” She goes on like she can’t hear you.
“The car!” You say a little louder. “The car stopped!”
But it’s too late for her to stop now, and she’s definitely going to bump into the back of the car, whether she hits the brakes or doesn’t. You fly out the window and pick up her car, flying away with it. You land on an empty street behind your school, putting the car back on the ground. You open the door to pick up your backpack, throwing it over your shoulder.
“I get it. I can’t get distracted.” You wink, with a little bitch grin, and make your way to the school, leaving a trembling Lena Luthor behind.
You think that maybe that’s going to make her realize she’s being a little too harsh on you, but things don’t get better.
“What are you making?” Lena asks, going inside your lab on Thursday, and you look up from your prototype. Her voice is already accusatory, like you should be doing anything else, except what you’re doing right now, even though she doesn’t know what it is yet.
“Um, a solar battery for my-”
“Shouldn’t you be studying?” She asks and your face drops. Nothing has changed.
“This is studying.” You point to your book in front of you. “And I get extra points if I do it right and it works on the school’ scoreboard.”
Lena looks a little lost at the realization you’re not just playing around like she thought you were. She sighs, like she always does when she feels defeated, and agrees with her head, coming closer.
“You should change the resistor for it to have more power.” She points at it, and you look up, staring at her with a confused expression.
“I used the 4.7K, it should be enough for the scoreboard.”
“If you use the 100K you’ll have more power.”
“Mom, 100K is enough to power our house, I think I can make it work with the 4.7 just fine, if I just-”
“Fine.” She interrupts, making her way to the door. “Do it however you like it. But don’t blame me if you don’t get the extra points that you’re looking for.”
You hung your head low, thinking this feels a lot like you imagine living with Lillian Luthor would be like. The constant pressure, the picking on every detail of everything that you do. Lena leaves your lab and you put your head down on the table, feeling the tears coming. You shouldn’t feel so bad that she’s pushing you so much, but this feels harder and harder the more that you think about it, because she was never this tough on you until you got your first bad grade.
So, when Friday comes you pretty much had it with her breathing down your neck, and her aggressive attitude for absolutely no reason.
“I hope that’s homework.” She says, late at night, when she comes into the kitchen and sees you and Kara looking at something, and giggling together. It’s Friday night, she can’t possibly be serious right now.
“OH MY GOD, WILL YOU STOP?” You yell, and your eyes widen when you notice what you just did. You yelled, but yet you wish she somehow hadn’t heard you.
“Excuse me?” Lena raises her eyebrows at you. She heard you. Of course she heard you.
“I’m sorry I yelled, but God! You need to back off a little.” You regret saying that too, because her eyes are shooting daggers at you and you know you’re in deep trouble. It doesn’t really help either that Kara is looking shocked, mouth agape and wide eyes next to you.
“Do you want to repeat that?” Lena asks, giving you a way out. You should take it.
“I do not.” See. A lot easier. Except. Except the words are still fighting on your mind and you’re trying very hard to hold them back, but you just blurt out, instead. “Because I’m sure you heard me.”
Oh no. What the fuck are you doing?
Kara sucks on her breath, and you know she won’t protect you from whatever avalanche of words that are coming, because you brought this on yourself.
“You must be mistaking me for someone else.” Lena steps in a little closer. “Because I don’t believe you would be insane enough to disrespect me like this.”
“Mom, I’m sorry, I don’t mean to be disrespectful.” You say, trying to calm her and yourself down. “I really don’t, but you said you weren’t mad about my grade, but you’ve been acting like you are. And then you said I could go supering with momma, but told her she had shut me down.”
“I did no such thing.” She defends herself looking at Kara, who just looks down trying to ignore her look.
“Look, I-I get it. You think that I’m a failure.” You bite your cheek, trying not to cry when you say this. “And maybe I am, because I got a bad grade, but-”
“You are not a failure.” She stops before you go on.
“Well, that’s how you’re making me feel.” You breathe out deep. “It’s too much pressure. I don’t understand what I have done to deserve that. I got a bad grade, and that’s it. I know we’re Luthors and Luthors don’t fail, but-but I told I’ll do better next time and you believed me. Why don’t you anymore?”
You feel Kara’s hand holding your knee under the table. It’s her way of saying that she’s got you, even though she’s definitely not going to say anything. It doesn’t matter, you feel supported, anyways.
“I believe you.” Lena says, pulling the chair in front of you, and she sits down with a sigh. “I just want to make sure you’re doing your best in every area of your life, baby.”
“And you think that bossing me around is going to help that?” You’re still trying to hold back the tears, but it’s harder when the next phrase goes out your mouth. “FYI, this is the first time you called me baby all week.”
Lena looks a little lost. Like she hadn’t really noticed she was being this stern with you. You clean a tear that is running down your face, and feel another squeeze on your leg. You look at Kara giving her a thankful smile.
“I agree that I shouldn’t be listening to you while I was taking a test, but I got an F in French, and still managed to help you with your experiment. So, why can’t that be a win? A tiny little ‘let’s not drive our kid to madness’ kind of win?” You breathe deep, putting one hand under the table, and holding Kara’s. She is there. She supports you.
“Ok.” Lena finally lets out, after what it feels like minutes. “Ok, yeah. I’ve been acting a little too severe for my own liking too.” You agree with your head. “I don’t want you to feel like you’re a failure because you got a bad grade. And, you’re allowed to make mistakes.”
“Not only at school.” Kara adds, earning an agreeable look from Lena. She holds your hand up, and kisses it with a smile. “You know, failing it’s not about not making mistakes. But rather stop trying. Failure is just a price to pay for success.”
“Wow.” You look at Kara with teary eyes, but a playful smile on your lips. “Where did you read that?”
“Shut up.” She jokes pushing your shoulder with hers.
“Well, even though Kara clearly just quoted someone…” Lena also jokes, making Kara stick her tongue out, in a very childish attempt to defend herself. “She’s right. I don’t want you to think you have to be right and successful all the time. What I want is for you to never stop trying to be better than you were before.”
“I can do that.” You agree with your head to make your point. “If you just let me breathe a little.”
“I can do that.” Lena parrots, and you smile a little. She calls you with her hand and you let go of Kara’s hand, rounding the table and going to her. She pulls you into her lap and hugs you tight. “I love you, babygirl. You’re not and never will be a failure to me, ok?”
“Promise?” You beg, and she kisses your forehead whispering softly onto it.
“I promise.”
And it’s not like they’re never going to pressure you to be better again. You know that this will probably happen at times. You belong to a family of heroes. Super or not. Your best is different from everyone else’s best. You were always aware of this fact, and nothing is going to change that. But you will get better with dealing with this and hopefully they will too.

Chapter 1
The years moved by much too fast for your liking. You were older than you were willing to admit, and the years had been hard. Time moved so oddly- it was so difficult and slow when it was happening, but when you looked back, it was as if it sped by like a freight train.
Today was your first day at your new job-  you were 27 and you’d been waiting your whole life for this day to finally come. After hearing stories about your father all through your life; catching the monsters in the dark as well as those that hide in plain sight… you wanted to be a superhero too. And lucky for you, you had a certain proclivity towards reading people. So, you became a profiler. And after years of grueling school, training and fighting to earn your place with no one knowing the legacy in your blood line, you did it.
No, those weren’t tears in your eyes… it was just dusty in the bullpen, that was all. You could feel him everywhere. You knew this was where he lived and breathed and worked for so much of his life. Your mom never understood how you ended up being so understanding about never seeing him, while your brother spent so much of your lives incredibly bitter and angry at him for “abandoning” you both. You always told Stephen that dad spent every minute of every day trying to make the world a safer place for the two of you to grow up in. And now you could finally continue his life’s work.
You caught a few pairs of eyes looking at you when you entered the bullpen for the first time, walking through like you’d been there a million times before- because in your imagination, your dreams, you had. Dad was always so descriptive with his words, and it was never hard to get lost in his stories.
You walked right to the Unit Chief’s office, knowing that Agent Hotchner was already in there waiting for you. You were supposed to have your first meeting on Monday, but when the team didn’t get back in time from their last case- a strangler in Minnesota, he had called you and you rescheduled to accommodate those dang annoying serial killers. Now it was Wednesday, and you could feel the tired energy in the room. It was filled with the sounds of scribbling pens and pencils on paper, the groans and squeaks of chairs as everyone tried to stay comfortable while doing their paperwork. You spotted a few very attractive people around you, but tried to keep your eyes forward as you headed for your destination.
After knocking on the door, you heard a shuffling of papers as a low, gritty voice welcomed you, “Come on in.”
“Hello, Agent Hotchner. Nice to see you again.” You offered your hand, which he took with his baseball mitt sized one. It was rough and strong, and reminded you of your fathers when you were young. You could tell these hands had seen a lot of conflict.
“Y/N , you’ve grown up a lot since last I saw you.” He had a kind smile on his face, which surprised you, even after all this time. Aaron Hotchner was always such a serious man, even when you were younger. “And please, call me Aaron. You know that.”
You chuckled in response. “I know, but it feels weird to call you that now that you’re my boss.”
“Hotch will do then. Morgan will give you quite a hard time if he hears you calling me ‘Agent Hotchner’, I can promise you that. Sit, sit. Let’s get through all the necessary annoyances so I can properly introduce you to your new team.”
After all of the finalized paperwork and introductory nuisances, Hotch finally stood up, indicating it was time to enter the bullpen again, but with a promise of introductions to your new team. You felt a small pang in your heart. You wished your dad could have been here to do this instead of Aaron. He took notice of your second of discomfort- something you were sure to get used to quickly working with profilers.
“Y/N, he’s here… in you. I know how proud he would be of you.” He said to you with a hand falling to your shoulder.
With a smile, you accepted the comfort, turning to look at him again. “Would you mind… could we see Uncle Dave first? I think it would make me feel a little better to have him next to me for this.” That damn dust was at it again. You were fine, really. You’d been preparing for this emotion for months now- there was nothing to surprise you.
With a gentle smile, Aaron- no, Hotch, you remembered- nodded. “Of course. Follow me to his office.” It didn’t escape your notice that, as you followed him, you were on your way to your dad’s old office. Each step brought you to a place you’d heard about, thought about, dreamt about, but had never seen. But when you walked in behind Hotch, you knew this was nothing like your father would have kept it. It just screamed Rossi.
“Y/n! If it isn’t the smartest and brightest star from the Academy, falling right here into our laps at the BAU!” Dave cheered as he saw you, shooting up from his chair and almost running to you, pulling you into his arms while Hotch closed the door to offer you all some privacy.
“Uncle Dave, you can’t believe how amazing it is to have you here on my first day.” You said into his shoulder, holding him close. He was always such a big supporter of your career- there every step of the way whenever your dad couldn’t be. You always said that you were lucky- god blessed you with a loving, mildly helicopter mother, and two superhero dads so fight all the monsters for you.
“You’re gonna be great, kid. Unless your academy grades and reputation were all a lie to get you out of their hair!” He laughed, low and warm.
You giggled, pulling back from him and punching him lightly in the arm. “Rude.” You took a deep breath, and both men noticed that you were preparing yourself to say something important. “Aaron, Uncle Dave... I made it here on my own, with my mother’s maiden name and no one knowing who my father is. I am so proud to be the daughter of Jason Gideon, and I miss him every day… but I think I want to keep my birth last name a secret for now, if you’re both okay with that. They legally changed my name when I was a baby, and while I would be so proud to have his last name again, I’m- just not ready to hold up his legacy just yet.” You explained to them, hoping they understood. Your parents had decided very early on that they didn’t want you to have the last name Gideon. It was just- too dangerous. Your father had put away too many bad people, especially people that preyed upon little girls, to risk your life that way. So while you thought of yourself as Y/N Gideon in your mind, you’d never said it out loud before. Not once.
“Of course, kiddo. Whatever you want, we’ll follow your lead. Hopefully Garcia can’t find anything with your last name, but we’ll have Kevin keep an eye on her search history in case she finds anything. But if you’re worried about anyone finding out, I would tell her and promise her to secrecy though. Because if super tech genius finds out before you tell her… everyone will know.” He explained, and you laughed. You’d heard about Garcia. Your dad used to drive her crazy. You considered Rossi’s advice and nodded, understanding and deciding to think on it.
“Ready?” Hotch said after a moment, gesturing to the bullpen, where you could see several people grouped up at a desk, staring into Rossi’s office with curiosity and perhaps a little bit of uncertainty.
“As I’ll ever be.” Rossi squeezed your hand and you smiled at him, a big toothy smile shining back at you. With two men you knew you’d already trust your life with by your side, you walked out of the room knowing that these people who you already knew so much about would soon also hold your life in their hands. “Team, I’d like to introduce you to the new member of our team, Y/N L/N. She’s transferred in with top marks from the Academy, and she’s been highly recommended by all of her professors.”
You blushed at his compliments, rolling your eyes at him. “I didn’t have the highest marks in ALL of my classes. Shooting targets took me a while.” You smile, waving at the team awkwardly. “Hi everyone, it’s an honor to be here with you. I’ve heard so much about all of you. You’re all pretty famous around the bureau. I can’t wait to meet you all and get to know you as my team instead of people I’ve been idolizing for 10 years!”
Everyone laughed, and a tall, dark and handsome man walked forward with a giant grin on his face. “Hey, Y/N, I’m Derek Morgan. You are welcome to continue to idolize me as much as you’d like.” You could have snorted, he was so much like your dad described.
“Nice to meet you, Agent Morgan.” You said with a mildly flirty smile, holding your hand out to him happily. No worries for you, you were definitely going to like your job if you had him to look at all the time.
“That’s enough touching for now, little newbie,” a big beautiful blonde said from behind him. “That is my man-candy you’re ogling and groping, thank you very much.” There was no venom to her words, just something that you could only describe as adorable teasing. She was so colorful, it was almost as if there was a light shining around her. She was just a glowing ball of sunshine… You knew you’d be fast friends with her. “I’m Penelope Garcia, resident tech Goddess and most loyal beck and call gal.”
You took her hand and shook it, before doing a slight curtsy, earning you a giggle. “An honor to meet you, Tech Goddess Garcia.”
“Ignore her, they’re perfect for each other because of their over inflated egos.” You heard a blazé voice coming from the other side of Derek Morgan. “He’s eye candy for us all, much to her dismay. She’s never been one for sharing. I’m Emily, one of the few normal ones here.”
“Normal, pfft. She’s far from normal. You should hear her talk about her cat. Jenniffer Jareau, but my friends call me JJ.”
You took both of their hands in firm handshakes, grinning at them both. “Nice to meet you, and thank you for the permission to ogle, Agents. As far as normal, I sure hope not. Normal is vastly overrated.” You grinned at them. Damn they were cute. Was this whole team models who decided to become do-gooders and join the FBI?
“Halloweentown, 1998, said by Debbie Reynolds.” A small voice in the back of the group piped in, confident in words and speed, but somehow… demure and shrouded in uncertainty, too. The team parted so you two could see each other, and you swear your heart stopped beating for a few seconds. In front of you was the prettiest, most adorable, hottest guy you’d ever seen. He had a sexy professor thing going on, but simultaneously looked like he was an anxious teenager, terrified of being bullied by this newcomer.
You longed to hold him and protect this stranger from the rest of the world and heal any wounds he had succumbed to in the time before you. He was staring at you too, eyes wide like a deer caught in headlights, pupils a little bigger than you can only assume they would normally be. After a snicker broke you both from the weird moment, pretty boy smiled a little and gave an awkward wave. “Hi. Doctor Spencer Reid.”
Oh. God. Your heart stopped a second time, and you swore, this is what a stroke felt like. You’d heard about Spencer for the last ten years. Your father loved him almost as much as he loved you and your brother. Maybe even more sometimes. The BAU resident genius, IQ of 187, eidetic memory, born in Las Vegas and wasn’t allowed in most casinos due to his card counting ability. Ability to empathize and love in a beautiful and incredible way- your father adored him, and because of how he spoke of him, you… you’d always had a crush on this faceless idea in your head with his wild mop of hair and tall, lanky frame. You had a general picture from all these years, but nothing had prepared you for this.
“H-Hi. I’m Y/N. N-Nice to meet you.” You said, trying your hardest not to sound like a little school girl with a crush on her teacher. You’d just met the man, for god sakes. You heard another snicker, and this time you knew it was from Morgan just from the proximity of the sound and the testosterone you could feel from the gesture. You tried to ignore your flaming red cheeks, and held out a hand a second before remembering that he hated being touched by strangers. A big germaphobe, always calculating the risk of what contact could mean for him. But before you had a chance to pull away, he reached out and took your hand, giving it a squeeze. You must have looked as shocked as you felt, but no one else noticed because everyone was staring at Reid with the same expression you were wearing. And to be honest, he looked just as surprised, if not more so.
Garcia made a breathy squeak sound, and somehow, that broke the tension of the moment, and you and Reid pulled away at the same time, both looking like you’d just been shocked by electricity. You stretched your hand out, staring at it, feeling on edge all over again, thinking about how good his hand felt in yours, and how good it would probably feel other pla-
“Well, I hope you all will be on your best behaviors, and treat Y/N like you would want to be treated as a newcomer in a team like ours, seeing what we see.” Hotch finally broke the silence. “Y/N, if you have any problems, come find myself or Rossi and we’ll help sort them all out.” Nodding, you looked at him and smiled, suddenly very embarrassed that your boss and your uncle just witnessed all of that. As profilers, they were going to come to so many conclusions, and each was more embarrassing than the last.
“Pretty boy and pretty girl, sitting in a tree, K-I-S-” You heard Derek sing-songing and he walked away, looking like the cat who got the cream. He was interrupted only when Emily punched him quite hard in the arm, looking at you with a wink and a smirk as she headed back to her desk as well. You tried to avoid looking at the genius again, but it was… difficult to say the least. You wanted to memorize everything about him. You wanted to pick his brain and listen to every fact he’d ever memorized. You wanted to experience him in all the ways your father had gotten to and more.
You watched as the team dissipated and then your eyebrows furrowed. “Rossi?” You asked, stopping him in his tracks as he was headed back to his office. “Where’s my desk?” He looked over his shoulder at you and you could tell he was holding back a shit eating grin as he pointed with his thumb to the desk directly across from Reid.
Fuck. You both looked at each other… or well, you looked at him, and he looked away like he’d been caught doing something and sat down, looking at his paperwork blankly. As you headed to your new desk, you’d give anything to know what was happening inside that massive brain of his.
Staring at your empty desk, you imagined what you could put there. Pictures of your family, pictures of your friends and your cats… One day you would put up a picture of your father… one day. For now, you grabbed your briefcase from your side and opened it up. You started unpacking some of your first day necessities; pens and notebooks, little toys and bright objects to remind yourself that there is good in the world. Your pile of books out; you always kept at least ten books on you at all times. One for every kind of mood you could be in- and at least three that you hadn’t read yet and were planning on.
As you prepped your desk, you could feel those eyes on you, analyzing your every move. You wanted to look up and see if you could find what he was figuring out within those eyes, but you tried to keep busy so you wouldn’t embarrass yourself again.
“Another book nerd, I see.” You heard that deep, caramelly sweet voice behind you. Derek sat on your desk right next to you and smiled a toothy smile at you. “Pretty girl likes to read, huh?”
Smiling at him, you raised a brow. “Reading is an exercise in empathy; an exercise in walking in someone else’s shoes for a while.” You were about to quote the originator, but someone else beat you to it.
“Malorie Blackman. British children’s literature writer and science fiction author.” Your head snapped to the person in front of you, who wasn’t looking at either of you.
Smiling at him, you nodded, and then turned to Morgan. “Yup, Malorie Blackman. Empathy is a huge part of the job, right? Reading allows us to experience a million different perspectives- which, as proflers, is necessary to catch the bad guys. I read so I can try to understand as many perspectives in this world as possible.”
Derek looked a little impressed, at least, and you couldn’t get a read on the gorgeous mop of brown hair on the desk across from you. Derek picked up one of the books still on your desk, not organized in your little library yet. “I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings?” He comments, and you catch Spencer’s eyes flick up at the title, curious.
“It’s my favorite. Not only do I love birds, but I’m a very big Maya Angelou fan. I’ve… always kind of felt like a bird stuck in a cage. Flitting about, trying to figure out what to do with my life and who I am... No book has ever made me feel more seen or understood as a human being.” You caught those big, interested eyes and you almost felt like you might have shared too much. You’ve always been an open book, but somehow, the way he was looking at you made you feel more vulnerable than you had… ever.
Derek nodded and smiled, putting the book down on your desk. “Well, lady genius, I’m going to try and get everyone to get together tonight for drinks, would you be interested in getting to know us in a more fun environment, or would you rather just go to the library with Pretty Boy over here and nerd out together?” He teased, making both of you blush.
“I-I don’t know. I’ve spent all of the years of my adulthood studying and sleeping and working to get here, so I haven’t really… spent a lot of time at bars?” Admitting that wasn’t the best feeling, but better to be honest than try to make up a lame excuse.
“Do I hear we have a light weight to peer pressure?” Derek said, loudly enough to catch the attention of everyone else. JJ and Emily looked enthused, and Rossi poked his head out of his office to chime in.
“Someone’s convincing Miss nose in a book Y/N to go out for drinks tonight? I’m in and I’m buying!” That was met with an uproarious approval from everyone on the team, with the exception of Reid, who was just looking at you, seemingly waiting on you to decide.
You bit your lip, noticing how Reid’s eyes fell to your lips in reaction. Well… if you could spend more time with the prettiest boy you’ve ever seen looking at you like that more… “Well… I guess. Sure. Sure, okay, I’m in.” You finally agreed, everyone whooping and hollering in celebration at you giving in. “Doctor Reid? What about you?” You looked at him through your eyelashes, and you could swear you saw his eyes dilate more.
“Oh, pretty boy barely ever comes out drinking with us anymore. He’s always holing himself up in his apartment- books from floor to ceiling, books in the fridge, freezer, on the bed, in his drawers and closets…” Derek teased, reaching over to Spencer and ruffling his hair.
Reid looked at Morgan and shoved his hand away and tried to fix his hair, rolling his eyes. “I do not have books in my freezer. That would be a terrible spot to put them, it would completely ruin the delicate spines.” You smiled at him in support, and he sat up a little straighter. “I… I’m in. For tonight.” He looked right at you when he said it, and you couldn't help but feel a little flutter in your stomach at the idea that he was going just to get to know you.
Morgan seemed to be thinking the same thing, and the face he gave Reid as he stood up and sauntered away said more than he needed to outloud. Once Reid looked away from Morgan, your eyes met and you both smiled again. “You’re a fan of Maya Angelou?” He asked, nodding towards your book.
“I am. I was always drawn to books that had birds on the covers, but then I actually read it and realized how beautiful it is on the inside.” You held the book in your hands gently. It was a mutual love, one your shared with your dad.
“The number of bird species in a person’s surroundings correlates directly to happiness levels.” He said, smiling at you like you were the most interesting thing in the world. The attention should have made you uncomfortable, but it just made you feel warm… important.
“Really?” You searched his eyes, wondering how much information was in that brain, stacked away for use when necessary. “That’s so interesting. I thought most people found birds annoying because of all the noise.”
He shook his head. “On the surface, they think it’s annoying, but once one becomes used to the sounds all around them, they find the background noise comforting. Most people find absolute silence much more disconcerting.”
“Absolute silence, for sure. But comfortable silence between two people who find solace in each other… I think that’s my favorite background noise.” He looked at you as you spoke, a small bit of hope flickering in both of your faces. You’d felt… alone, since your fathers spirit left this world months ago. It had been so hard to be at school and unable to go to his services, terrified of people finding out who your father was and that information altering your career. You hadn’t even applied to the bureau until you had your recommendation letters in order- you didn’t want Aaron giving you any false starts just because he knew. You liked to visit his grave once a month and tell him all the things you wrote in your letters to him. You carried around his private notebook as a reminder of the people in the world he saved, the people you wanted to save. You clutched your briefcase close, knowing you couldn’t put it in your desk with Reid watching you so closely. You’d find time to slip it in later, when no one was looking. With that eidetic memory, you knew he’d recognize it immediately, and you didn’t want his curious gaze to ruin your secret just yet. You wanted the team to form their own opinions of you before they knew... because the moment they knew, everything would change.

The Red Plague
Tumblr media
The art above was created by Nix Hydra, and can be found in the Minor Arcana Art Book (or where I got it - off the fandom wiki page, because who’s going to stop me)
Much of Zelda’s story in the non-apprentice timeline delves into the plague before, during, and in the aftermath of Vesuvia, and I wanted to compile my lore and headcanons for it in one place before I delve into her story fully. I will incorporate as much canon as possible, but given that that isn’t a large amount of info, a lot of this is based off research and personal worldbuilding.
CWs for discussions of disease, death, body horror, I guess spoilers but I’m surprised if it is for anyone considering how the info is everywhere in game in all routes. This is also, again, personal headcanon and I don’t expect it to fall in line with everyone’s thoughts on the plague.
The Timeline
I’m going to go with a comprehensive timeline first, and this part is all based on canon information. I’ll try and provide as many sources as I can as well, but some of this is pulled from multiple books and I might forget exactly where something came from.
As we learn in the Lucio tale, Dawn of the Grub, Lucio strikes up a deal with the wyrm of pestilence (Vlastomil) - his parents’ hearts in exchange for a disease that will allow Lucio to kill them both. The Lucio brought the disease back to the tribe, which weakened his father enough for Lucio to kill him. His mother Morga, however, fights off the disease, referring to it as a ‘summer cold’, and Lucio flees the tribe and joins a traveling mercenary band which allows the plague to spread.
I don’t have a particular reason why Morga would have survived the plague. Her sprites in the game never show any sign of the plague that are generally acknowledged - no red sclera, no veins, no signs of weakness, so on and so forth. The best theory I can posit is that Morga either genuinely had a summer cold, or that the plague only took hold in Lutz rather than them both. Either way, unsatisfying, but we’re going to call Morga the exception and not the rule.
Because Lucio did not fulfill his end of the bargain with Vlastomil, the plague continued to spread, following Lucio as he traveled the continent. This is also the point where the beetles appear - more on them later.
The implication in the game is that the disease reached other countries and areas, but the next canon mention of the Red Plague’s spread occurs in Portia’s route, book X - Wheel of Fortune. A map is discussed where dates, places, and sightings of the plague are noted by Julian in his study of the plague - the Painted Fields, Blue Mountain Ridge, and Annyala Gate are all names that arise.
Nasmira recognizes the name of Annyala Gate and points out that Nazali was at that battle, in which a band of mercenaries was sighted - and their leader needed an arm amputated, which is confirmed to be Lucio. Nadia states that Lucio came to Vesuvia not long after that battle, and the next time the Plague was seen was in Vesuvia.
It is never seen again outside Vesuvia, and this brings us to the three years before the game, where Lucio’s ‘death’ heralds the end of the plague, and it is never seen actively again in the Arcana world.
The headcanons I have are to help establish a solid timeline. Dawn of the Grub tells us the deal is made on Lucio’s 18th birthday, and I personally believe that Lucio’s death occurred on his 40th birthday, giving us about 22 years of time for us to work with for the spread of the plague.
Some more headcanons mixed with canon:
Lucio is newly titled Count in the tale Travel at Night. Based on personal age headcanons, this tale probably occurs at minimum 17 to 18 years pre-canon, putting Asra at (at most) 10/11, Muriel at 14/15, and Lucio at a startling 22/23. It could occur later, as art style can influence perspective on age, but Muriel and Asra really don’t feel like they could be much older than that.
During his mercenary days (sometime between the ages of 18 and 22/23) Lucio was contracted by the former Count of Vesuvia, Count Spada. This battle occurs at Annyala, mentioned above, and is the battle where Lucio
At a certain point, Lucio was contracted by the Count of Vesuvia at the time, Count Spada, for a battle where he "made a name for himself." Story implications indicate that this was the battle during which he lost his left arm. It was amputated by Julian to prevent his death from blood loss. After he won the battle for Count Spada, he became friends with the Count and privy to secrets about Vesuvia and the Palace. Spada would eventually name Lucio his heir, and upon his death, Lucio earned rulership of Vesuvia.
The plague eventually appears and ravages Vesuvia’s population
Plague patients are sent to the Lazaret away from the city and cremated, then scattered on the beach.
Lucio contracts the plague and defies the average lifespan of those who contracted it by lasting a few months rather than 3-10 days.
Lucio dies on his birthday, not of the plague but as a result of the ritual he was attempting to gain a new body.
I tried to map most of that out here, and wow, what a sad little diagram. Nix Hydra, y’all are cowards for not going hard on this. I, however, am not, and I am about to go more apeshit than I already have.

The Spread
Cracking my knuckles on the history degree, baby, I’m borrowing some real life inspiration from across multiple time periods to tie all this together.
I personally think the whole “Oh, the plague arrives wherever Lucio goes and disappears when he leaves” thing is a copout, and we’re drop kicking that out a window.
I do believe, as canon states, that the plague follows Lucio. It spreads obviously to regions he visits, but I don’t think it just disappears when he leaves. I really, really want to believe someone would have been smart enough to see the connection if the plague suddenly appeared and was later yoinked out of existence as soon as Lucio left town every single time it cropped up somewhere way sooner than it was noticed in canon.
I don’t think the plague was as isolated as the game implies, and when it was in Vesuvia, it was probably also elsewhere. The epicenter was Lucio, of course, so Vesuvia faced the worst of it, but I think there would have been pockets with much smaller numbers in other parts of the world.
Earlier I mentioned a few locations cited in Portia’s route as to where the plague had been before Vesuvia - the Painted Fields, Blue Mountain Ridge, and Annyala Gate. I think once these areas were hit with the plague, it would have continued to spread even after Lucio left. Across multiple routes, it’s made clear that the only ‘cure’ to the plague is Lucio’s death, which is why Julian had intended to kill Lucio after making his deal with the Hanged Man. The lack of Lucio’s presence would have kept the plague from continuing to escalate, but in these regions, it probably would have spread when the region’s people attempted to relocate, or ceased when the population died out.
Annyala Gate, or the Great Gate, is a location I can dive a little deeper into. It’s the last location the plague was sighted before Vesuvia, and because it ties into my OC Zelda’s storyline, I have many a thought.
Lucio is in Annyala sometime between year 1 and year 4/5, though I believe it’s on the later end of that spectrum, so let’s say year 4 to clearly predate his title as heir to Vesuvia. For reference, here is a map of the Great Gate as provided by the art book:
Tumblr media
Jeebus. Terrible photo quality. Ah, well, on we go.
The Great Gate is situated between the Sea of Persephia (left) and the Salty Sea (right), and as the map currently stands, is the only point on land that gives access to the southern part of the world map. In this area in particular, I feel like a number of factors would have kept the plague alive long after Lucio left.
Narrowest point on the world map for transport of goods between ports and seas, which would be a more efficient route than traveling around the continent to reach the same point
As previously stated, this is the only known access point to the south, and travelers heading through this area could possibly be carriers of the plague or catch the plague from the area
The only way for the plague to stop would be with the death of Lucio, so once it was inflicted upon this area, it continued to spread and infect the population in adjoining areas
The game repeatedly has emphasized the proximity of the Red Beetles (known harbingers of the plague) to water, such as the Nopali village in Asra’s route and the red stains attributed to them in Julian’s route, and we receive further confirmation in Portia’s route that the water supplies are contaminated during the period of the disease
Fun bit of trivia from Nadia’s route - in the Strength book, Nadia mentions that she remembers the beetles, and that once they had been used as part of a pigment used to dye fabric crimson, which was all the rage in Vesuvia. Should this trend have continued, people wearing fabrics dyed with this beetle pigment most likely would become infected, and thus, the cycle continued.
I will also point out here that pigments have been used in makeup across history, and I’m sure applying some beetle-laden makeup would have really fucked some people up. Eyeshadows, blushes, lipsticks...contact with any of these areas, particularly the eyes and mouth, indicate a possibility of infection.
This does, however, leave a fifteen year (ish) period where the plague would have been active in this region until Lucio’s death. Historically, diseases can last such broad swathes of time. For the sake of displaying precedent, I will point out some examples here:
The Black Death, lasting 1346-1353
The third cholera pandemic, lasting 1846-1860
The third plague pandemic, a major bubonic plague like the Black Death, lasting 1855-1960
The HIV/AIDS pandemic, which has been ongoing since 1981 in the US
However, some of the most devastating plagues have lasted only a few years, which I will touch on later when I discuss Vesuvia’s case of the plague. All of the diseases listed above are additionally categorized with death tolls over a million people.
(On a side note, if you would like to contribute to programs searching for a cure for HIV/AIDS, I will suggest donating to organizations like amfAR, the Black AIDS Institute, or the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, all of which are linked accordingly and deserve your support if you are capable of making a  contribution)
Remaining question: if the last place the plague was seen was in Annyala, more than fifteen years before it was seen in Vesuvia, what the fuck happened during that time beforehand?
Vesuvia - Before the Plague
Here’s the thing. The timeline given by the devs is a fucking mess. So, what I’m going to propose here is almost entirely theory, and I ask that you keep that in mind.
Lucio ascends to the title of Count by the time he’s about 22 or 23. Spada dies, presumably, and there’s no noticeable mention of his death via plague or the establishment of the court.
For some fascinating lore on how the government in Vesuvia works, I’m going to point you to this post by @sunrisenfool, who has one of the biggest brains and is gracious enough to allow me to reference their work a little for this one.
I don’t think the court as we know it existed when Lucio became Count. I agree with sunrisenfool here that Valdemar has been the Palace’s cockroach for a while - which was actually also confirmed in the Star book of Portia’s route, in which we see Count Prospero (founder of Vesuvia) summon Valdemar and ask for their aid in creating a city that will never die. The remaining courtiers would be gradually established as time continued on, all demons who struck bargains with the Devil in one form or another placed into positions of power alongside Lucio. We also cannot forget Valerius, who made his own deal with the Devil, and played his own role in this scenario.
We know that Lucio was also a pawn, later on, in the Devil’s agenda to bridge the gap between the main world and the Arcane realms. The ritual discussed in Portia’s Star book is described as a vessel to do just that -
“...every 777 years, the physical and magical world will collide...the laws of magic will no longer be immutable, and the world will bend to our will...So long as the Countship and canals remain whole, so shall the power to reshape the world. You need only await the conjunction. Perform the ritual and lead the city to glory heretofore unknown. I, Count Prospero, first of my line, declare the founding of Vesuvia. The city eternal. My legacy.” - Count Prospero
It’s confirmed after this scene that the ritual, using the canals as a conduit, opened a ‘door’ so to speak to the Arcane realms. It’s also said there is a three year window to perform this ritual, and that at the time of game canon, we are at the end of that three year window.
So. Borderline conspiracy time.
Tumblr media
Circling back to the lovely sunrisenfool’s work, I’m going to pull a particular excerpt here:
...the Consul of Vesuvia is the second most important/powerful political figure in Vesuvia, directly after the Count/ess. Aside of the political and civic duties I have already explained, the Consul acts as a “protector” of Vesuvia, albeit not in a paternalistic politically-conservative way (which is how paternalistic policies would be understood in our world). Instead, the Consul is meant to rule the City if the Count is absent or incapacitated, therefore being the subsidiary depositary of the secret of the foundation of Vesuvia, and the importance of it’s Canals.
Lucio makes it pretty clear he doesn’t know much of anything about the ritual during Portia’s Star book, but he was told about it by Spada before his death as it was a secret kept close to the court. That gave him something of leverage, even if he wasn’t aware of it,
My thought as to why the plague did not spread in Vesuvia sooner is that Lucio had knowledge of this ritual, however minimal, and the Devil needed him alive to eventually use the ritual for himself. So, as Vlastomil (the wyrm of pestilence who granted this curse) was established in Vesuvia as Praetor, the plague was kept at bay for the time being while the city came under the full control of the Devil’s demons.
I cannot imagine the only person who knows about the ritual is the Count, because that feels like a woefully flawed plan, so I do believe the Consul would have also been privy to such a secret in case the Count was in a position they could not share it due to absence or incapacitation. Basically, a rehash of sunrisenfool’s point, but I digress.
As the window drew nearer for the completion of the ritual and it became clearer that Lucio knew next to nothing about the ritual and how it worked, the Devil decided to take a different approach. The plague was unleashed once again by Vlastomil, with the goal that Lucio become infected and eventually die, and that Valerius take over the Countship. Lucio no longer was useful to the Devil, and should he be removed from power, someone like Valerius - who knew the purpose of the ritual, who was under the Devil’s bargain by this point - would be an ideal candidate to finish the task at hand. Leverage, it works wonders.
I don’t think the ritual performed to gain a new body could have been mere chance. I think Lucio knew more than he let on about the canals and the magic in Vesuvia from Spada. Yes, I know the first three were written before Portia, but come on, the timing is insane. He’s no magician, and performing something that complex and magically charged right at the beginning of the three year window when the ritual is supposed to be performed feels far from coincidental. Fight me.
But, on to what happens in Vesuvia once the plague is free to spread again.
Vesuvia - During the Plague
The first sighting of the plague is in year 20, and I personally believe the plague lasted about two years or 24 months. The period is divided into three ‘waves’ - the first six months, the year leading up to Lucio’s death, and the six months following Lucio’s death.
The First Wave
The first wave begins when the first known case of the Red Plague is confirmed, and in this period, the spread is rather slow.
Here is the introduction of the Lazaret, which I do believe is a building that existed before the plague - this is personal thoughts, but the odds of this being the first major disease Vesuvia experienced feel pretty slim, and I do think this was a previously established quarantine that was renovated/expanded for the Red Plague outbreak. In an effort to get ahead of the disease, the space was designated a quarantine, largely staffed by volunteers when the palace seemed to not acknowledge the growing situation. It would slowly begin to increase until the plague boomed at the six month mark, heralding the beginning of the second wave.
The Second Wave
This is the ‘bad period’ of the plague. I say that loosely, because it’s all bad, but I digress.
I headcanon that the apprentice dies in the beginning of the second wave, when spread of the red plague rapidly begins to increase and the call goes out for researchers to search for a cure. We know how that story goes, so moving on to the details of this wave.
There were two groups at this point in the plague - those assigned to research, working out of Valdemar’s dungeon/lab/carnival of horrors studying the plague, and those assigned to the Lazaret, caring for the sick and dying and maintaining the facility.
I’m going to focus more on the Lazaret for this, as the research aspect is pretty well covered throughout Julian’s route and conversations with him in other routes, and this post is already getting long.
The Lazaret was home to the dying, where they would be cared for in their final days and eventually cremated. My thought is that the remains of the patients were carefully catalogued in the beginning, returned to families willing to claim them, and those left unclaimed were scattered on the beach at the Lazaret. Later on, as more and more people died, less remains were claimed, leading to the black beaches that still mark the shores of the Lazaret in canon. Often the staff here were a mix of healers, doctors, apothecaries, anyone willing to try anything to ease the pain of such a disease.
The staff at the Lazaret began wearing layered masks - the plague mask with its herb-stuffed beak, another facial covering beneath for an added layer of protection, and a head covering that sealed the gaps between the mask and the face. They were also required to wear gloves, tight-fitted sleeves tucked inside, and their pants tucked into their boots to reduce the risk of infection through contact. Their days would start in locker rooms on one end of the facility, removed from the patients, and suit up for the day while leaving belongings in the lockers. The end of the shift consisted of showers and disposal of garments to be sterilized, they’d return home in the clothes they came in, and by the time they returned a new uniform would be waiting for them.
Lucio caught the plague during this period, most likely halfway through. He lasted several months, but the exact length is unknown, aside from he ‘lasted longer than most victims of the plague’ who died between 3-10 days.
I don’t think the averages are entirely accurate. There were most likely some who were asymptomatic until the plague was in very late stages, or those who presented symptoms very early on and survived for long stretches of time. All would die bearing the red sclera, veins, and other symptoms depicted above. Basically, this disease is claimed to be unpredictable, and I think that would also stretch to the duration at which each patient had it. Those who were physically frail likely would have died sooner than those who had been in oprtimal health before the plague, making the times vary rather drastically. I’d suggest perhaps a month at the longest, a few days at the shortest.
Policy wise - during this period, the ports would have closed, and Vesuvia would have shut down. Nobody in, nobody out, not without rigorous inspection and quarantine before exiting to the city to avoid further spread. Often the only people allowed into the city were doctors from other regions affected by the plague called to help research, but during this year, I would estimate Vesuvia lost easily 30% of its population to the Red Plague.
The Third Wave
This wave is the period that occurs after Lucio’s death at the Masquerade, three years pregame. I’ll touch a tiny bit more more on this in the next section, but this is where we see the gradual end of the spread of the plague, and the last cases shown in Vesuvia. It’s the end of the plague period, and I give this about six months for the official ‘all clear’ to have been given by those tracking case counts.
The Lazaret is eventually decommissioned and now sits abandoned, a shadow on the horizon to remind those who survived what had been lost. The city mourned, the gates slowly opened, and gradually, we reach the point of comparative normalcy we see in the game set three years later.
Vesuvia - The Aftermath
Lucio’s death would, ultimately, mean the end of the plague. Rather than immediately disappearing and all those suffering from it be cured, however, I would be inclined to say that the spread came to a halt.
The last wave of the plague, in the six months after Lucio’s death, would have been a decrease in new cases until there were no new ones being reported, and the last of the patients who had been infected finally passed.
The final duties of the doctors at the Lazaret, after all remains are cremated, would have been the incineration of all materials that could not be sterilized. Linens, spare uniforms, unclaimed personal affects, so on and so forth until the time came to return home. I do not remember the exact location, but I am fairly confident of a mention of the MC remembering barrels burning doctor’s uniforms and masks in the days after the end of the plague. It was, for a lack of better words, a purge - an attempt to erase the last physical memories of what the city had endured.
Events like this are traumatic for all involved. They are painful wounds, and for the rate of death I imagine occurred in Vesuvia, the odds that someone lost no one are slim. There was likely a long period of mourning, and as noted in the present of the game, rarely is the plague spoken of outside of the context of the investigation in the primary routes.
Many of those medical staff members who survived were those assigned to research at the Palace. The proximity of the staff to the ill at the Lazaret quarantine likely would have made the rate of infection far higher for the caretakers, meaning that often the staff would end up caring for colleagues in their final days.
Even three years removed, the time of the plague is a raw wound for those in Vesuvia - but I do think the period is fascinating and I love exploring the different facets of it in my own world building. And, well, shameless self promo, but I am eager to write it myself when I get into Zelda’s backstory.
If you made it this far, thank you. Go drink some water or something, idk, wellbeing checkpoint bc what a long ass post

Dream SMP Recap (February 9/2021) - New Lands, Sapnap’s Visit
It wouldn’t be the Dream SMP without emotional whiplash, now would it?
As tensions between Puffy and Ponk have escalated, Karl takes Sapnap and George with him on a journey to a new land to live in, starting a brand new country to house his library.
What was at first a fun time building the library quickly turned serious, as Sapnap decided that now was the time to pay Dream a visit.

VOD LINKS:
Ponk
Tubbo
Jack Manifold
Ranboo
Captain Puffy
Foolish Gamers
Karl Jacobs
Sapnap
Badboyhalo
---
- Ponk is angry at Puffy’s arson from yesterday. He asks Niki for advice on what to do. She says she would burn a house down in revenge.
- He also speaks with Foolish.
- Ponk destroy’s Puffy’s mushroom house, leaving her homeless again.
- Ponk also gets a tour from Warden Sam of the prison. Not to visit, just to be shown the mechanics.
- He tries to run up the guards’ spiral staircase but when Sam attacks him, he backs down. Sam is irritated at this.
- Ponk and Sam have an argument about tridents.
- Later, Sam tells Ponk that every friendship goes through fights occasionally, and he forgives Ponk.
- Ponk continues on his Valentines’ Day plans.
- Ranboo accidentally kills Jjjjjjjjeffrey with sweeping edge. Mr. Krabs adds insult to injury.
- Tubbo does an abstract bit.
- Ranboo kills several more pets. He is not having a good day.
- Puffy finds out about the destruction. She’s upset.
- Realistically, she should get retaliation, but she doesn’t know if she should even bother.
- Foolish comes over to where her house used to be, and Puffy says she knows about Foolish’s involvement earlier. She thanks her son for trying to save her house.
Foolish says he was too late, but Puffy replies that it only mattered that he tried.
- Karl comes online with plans to move his library. Sapnap arrives as well and Karl tells him that he has nothing to his name on the server except the library.
The llamas in Party Park have begun to unionize, and though cleaning up L’manhole would be the responsible thing to do, they are definitely not going to do that.
- George comes online as Karl dismantles the library.
- They start walking down the path to look for an area to build their new country.
Sapnap: “We lost our best friend recently. He’s in prison.”
Sapnap also notices that the Community House has been rebuilt, but...it’s not the same.
- George performs a special ceremony at Spawn.
- They set off, heading out past Spawn in that direction.
- Sapnap gets concerned that they’re heading out so far. He doesn’t want to get too far from the prison.
- They make it to the flower forest biome past Alyssa’s Barn.
- Karl decides on a nice little cliffside to build the library in. He sets down a rule for the other two: a flower that is picked up must be placed down again.
- Sapnap is the protector, as resident tough guy.
- Captain Puffy visits the Temple of Undying to admire Foolish’s building. Foolish helps cheer her up.
- Sapnap reveals that he’s brought Beckerson and Mars with him. They can be the country’s most prized possessions. The oldest pets on the server.
- They plant and grow the first red-spotted mushroom. Karl deems it sacred and unbreakable.
- They repurpose Alyssa’s Barn for mushroom growing.
- They shelter from the rain under the sacred mushroom.
- They start building.
- Bad magics his way over to help with the building. Karl explains that the mushroom is sacred. Bad compares their country to a fungal growth.
- As they’re building, Karl tells Bad that in a perfect world, everyone on the SMP would join this country. There’s no duel citizenship. Everyone can join (barring Skeppy)
Bad is appreciative of the invitation.
- They continue building. Foolish arrives to assist!
- A pillager raid comes through and Sapnap kills them. As he does so, a white horse wanders by. Sapnap declares it their special horse. It can be their Horsecretary.
- The building continues!
- Dream joins VC and viewer wars break out between Sapnap and Foolish as Dream encourages everyone to try and get their viewer counts to be equal.
- Foolish heads back to his beautiful, stunning, gorgeous summer house to show on his stream.
- Sapnap gets a bright idea to go to the prison and visit Dream.
- Sam joins the call and Sapnap tells him he’s trying to get through the prison portal.
- Sam asks if Sapnap actually wants to visit Dream, and Sapnap says yes...
-
--- SAPNAP’S PRISON VISIT ---
-
- Sapnap tries to get into the prison and asks Awesam to let him visit Dream.
- Awesam agrees. Sapnap isn’t sure if he was ready, or if this is the optimal time, but he ends up going through.
- Sam asks the questions.
This is Sapnap’s first time visiting.
His residence is in a new place that he and Karl are creating.
He believes Dream is deserving of being locked up.
Sapnap: “We used to be best friends...”
Sam: “’Used to be?’”
Sapnap: “Yeah, I dunno...where we stand anymore, it’s kinda...yeah.”
Sam: “What does that mean?”
Sapnap: “Well, I dunno...I don’t know if he’s the same anymore. I don’t know if he’s the Dream -- my Dream anymore. My best friend.”
- Sapnap reviews the waivers
- They start making their way through the prison. Sapnap is nervous.
- Sapnap signs the other two waivers.
- They reach the lava wall.
Sam: “Good luck getting him to talk.”
Sapnap: “What do you mean? ...Is he not talkative”
Sam: “Something like that.”
- Dream’s cell walls are spotted in crying obsidian.
Sam: “And Sapnap?”
Sapnap: “Yeah?”
Sam: “I hope that you’re the one.”
- Sapnap enters the cell.
“...Hello? Dream? ....You okay?”
- Dream is silent, holding the clock. He hands Sapnap a book that says: “I am not talking.”
- His clock is now labelled “DO NOT BURN”
Dream: “you took so long.”
Sapnap: “You hurt a lot of people, but...you hurt specifically me...took me a little bit to decide to come and see you...”
Sapnap: “You’re better than this.”
- Dream looks at his clock, turning away from Sapnap.
Sapnap: “Once upon a time, we were best friends. If you’re gonna talk to anyone, you can talk to me.”
- Dream turns back to Sapnap, now holding the clock in his offhand while he writes in the book.
Dream: “im on strike”
- Sapnap asks what for, then if Dream is okay.
- Sapnap asks why the cell looks so run-down, with the crying obsidian dripping everywhere.
“it was a security measure.” [The crying obsidian]
“ill get out one day.”
- Sapnap insists that Dream has to stay locked up.
Sapnap: “I love you man, but you gotta stay here...this is where you belong for now.”
- Dream hands him the book.
“i spend days i broke the lectern i was making a portal and he did this.”
- Sapnap says that he can’t try and escape. He misses Dream, Sapnap says that they can be friends, that he can come and visit, that George can come and visit, but he has to stay here.
“Please don’t try and escape.”
- Dream runs over and throws the clock in the lava. Sapnap is worried that he’ll make Awesam mad and make things worse for himself.
“eventually.”
“eventually.”
“eventually.”
“eventually.”
- Sapnap repeatedly tells him no.
Sapnap: “If you try and break out early...you know, you only have one life left, okay? And...I don’t think it’s gonna be Tommy. It’s not gonna be Techno, Dream...If you break out of this prison, it’s gonna be me who takes your final life. And it’s not because I have any resentment towards you or anything --”
Dream moves towards the lava but stops.
“-- But it’s because this is where you need to be, Dream.”
Dream’s head turns towards Sapnap and he takes another step towards the lava.
“You have to stay here, okay? We can still be friends, I can come and visit you, but you need to stay here.”
Dream moves back to the back of the cell.
“can you pass a message”
“he stopped visiting”
- Sapnap asks who
“ranboo”
- Sapnap asks what message
“:)”
- Sapnap says he’ll pass along the message.
“thank you”
- Sapnap asks if, if he passes along the message, Dream will behave. If he’ll stop acting up and throwing his clocks away.
Dream finally speaks, though it’s barely a whisper.
"Yes.”
- Sapnap says he’ll visit Dream more, and asks if he wants George to visit as well. Dream hands him the book again.
“yes and tell the warden i need a new clock”
- Dream signs the book.
“thank you for visiting me” is the final message.
- Sapnap says he’s ready to leave. Sam tells him to stand in the water.
Sapnap and Dream stand in the water together and they die by the potion together.
- Sapnap tells Sam that he spoke, and that he said he’d be better. That he needs a new clock. Sam is exasperated.
- Sapnap asks how long it’s been since he spoke to someone else. Sam says it’s been quite a while.
- When’s the last time he saw someone?
- The last person to visit him was Ranboo.
- Sam asks if he told Sapnap anything else. Sapnap says no.
- Sam kills Sapnap with Warden’s Will, sending him to Spawn.
- Sapnap comes back to the prison. Sam lets him through the portal.
- Sam explains that he just thought it was strange that Dream would talk to Sapnap, and had to “make sure.” Sapnap says it’s fine and leaves the prison with his things.
- Ranboo joined the game.
- Sapnap whispers to Ranboo that he wants to talk. They meet at the Community House.
Sapnap tells him about the prison visit, saying that Dream doesn’t seem the same. He doesn’t even talk now. He tells Ranboo that he was told that Ranboo was the last person to visit. He asks if Ranboo remembers anything about his visit, anything off.
Ranboo, of course, doesn’t remember much.
- Sapnap gives Ranboo the message:
:)
- Ranboo freezes and goes silent, then runs away into the Nether. Sapnap is confused.
- Just as Sapnap is ending stream, Ranboo sends a message in game chat written in Enderman.
Doomed are those who try to run, for it always catches up eventually :)
---
Upcoming events remain the same.
Bad also mentioned that he has an upcoming lore stream that he’s scheduling, though it involves a particular person whose schedule makes them difficult to get a hold of for it.

Wanda Maximoff/Reader - Land of Thieves - #ChapterThree
Tumblr media
Gif is not mine got from google, idk who made it but i truly appreciate it.
Read on AO3 (EN) ///// Ler no AO3 (PT)
Summary:  When you were a child, you swore that no matter how high the reward in your head, she could always count on you. Life as an outlaw in the west is not easy, but you believe that train robberies are still easier than asking a pretty girl to dance. Land of Thieves, also know as your love story with Wanda Maximoff in the Wild West.
Warnings:  explicit language, explicit violence
"Howard Stark, the oil millionaire, has exclusively revealed to The Saint Denis Times, details of his new investment in the Heartlands in New Hanover"
You heard Steve read the contents out loud to you. You were sitting in his tent, leaning your back against the wood that held the tent upright. Peggy and Bucky were standing, while you and the twins were sitting on the ground, all listening intently to the captain's words.
- And then they narrate information about where the meeting will take place, and even the time Stark will be negotiating! - exclaims Steve.
- Rich people are stupidly confident. - Bucky comments, and everyone laughs briefly.
- The problem is who else will have the same idea as us. - You tell Steve, and he puts his hand to his chin thoughtfully. - With this information in the newspaper, a lot of people will be aware of the amount of money coming into Saint Denis.
- We have some advantages. - Peggy says. - Mainly the location. And besides, this kind of work will only be targeted by the bigger gangs. Who do we know that is in this area?
Steve runs his hands through his hair, and closes his eyes, as if trying to remember something. He exclaims after a moment.
- Where was the last time you heard of the Panthers? - He asks Bucky, who shrugs his shoulders.
- Three years ago. - replies the man. - They don't rob banks, Steve.
- That's even better then. - Steve says, but then turns to you. - Our only problem will be the O'Driscolls, they are the only ones who know we are in this area and have enough people for the job.
You exchanged a look with Pietro, and he nodded slightly. You sighed before you spoke:
- They' re not the only ones who know we're in the area. - You confessed and everyone, except Pietro, looked at you with surprise and curiosity. You felt quite embarrassed. - I had a little disagreement with Lemoyne Raiders yesterday afternoon.
Steve frowned at you, but you held his gaze. You did what you had to do to protect Pietro after all.
- Define exactly what kind of misunderstanding.
- We killed fifteen of them. - Cut Pietro off, and Steve looked at you in disbelief. Wanda also looked quite shocked.
- You went into a gunfight with a shoulder wound? - Steve looked at you seriously. - Have you completely lost your mind?
- She was helping me. - Pietro stood up, but he sounded almost embarrassed when he said it: - I got caught cheating.
- You must be joking. - Wanda's voice sounded and you watched her stand up and pinch her brother hard on the arm. Pietro complained with a groan.
Steve massaged his forehead impatiently.
- You guys are unbelievable. - He grumbled, and Peggy patted him on the back as she stood up, signaling him to sit down.
- Here's what we're going to do. - She began to speak in a calm but authoritative tone. Steve and I are going to set up the whole bank scheme, and we're going to find a way to use the O'Driscolls against themselves, in case they get the idea to rob Stark as well. I'll send Maria to find out about it. Wanda and Monica go to Limpany, find out if any Raiders are left alive to describe what these two look like, or if anyone is willing to talk.
- What about both of us? - Pietro asks, pointing at himself and at you.
- Potts always needs help in the kitchen. - Informs Peggy and you both let out a groan of discontent
Pietro grumbles slightly irritated - We are no longer children to be grounded.
- The first step is to stop your childish attitudes then. - Peggy replies, with an almost ironic expression. - Why don't you try to behave like Wanda, she went to get her engagement present and remembered to bring a newspaper with vital information!
Feeling your face getting very hot, you grumbled loudly " for heaven's sake" as the "adults" laughed at Peggy's insinuation. Tucking your face into your knees in embarrassment, you ignored the giggles. Wanda also blushed a lot, but you didn't notice from the position you were in.
The meeting ended shortly after, with Bucky signaling that he would be in charge of the weapons, as he usually was, as well as being the one with the sniper rifle, providing support from a distance.
You hurried back to your tent, since Pietro was frowning at the punishment, and Wanda had to go to Limpany later today. You watched her walk toward Carol's tent, where Maria and Monica were staying, as they refused to leave Carol's bedside until the woman was better, and then you looked away as Monica left with Wanda toward the horses.
Lying on your bed for several minutes, staring at the ceiling, you were startled to feel something being thrown against your body. Blinking in confusion, you picked up the object. It was some kind of luggage, you recognized as you turned. Then you looked at the two-letter border and turned your head quickly to the place from which it had been thrown.
Jumping out of bed, you almost tripped on the carpet, but kept your balance before throwing both arms around your friend, hugging her tightly. Nat laughed, but returned the squeeze.
- I missed you too. - She mumbled into your hair. You laughed, pulling away to look at her for a moment, before depositing several kisses on her cheek, making her laugh. It had been a habit of yours to greet her this way after long trips since you were little. - What happened while I was away?
She asked as soon as you let go.
- I'm grounded. - You shrugged, she raised her eyebrow.
- But you're too old for grounding now. - she joked. - Sorry, actually it starts tomorrow. - She sneered with irony, but you still laughed.
The two of you sat down on your bed, you placing Nat's luggage on the floor while crossing your legs as you sat down. She took off her boots and stretched her legs against your lap, letting her feet dangle, you played with the fabric of her pants in the area of her shins.
- How are you? - she asked after a moment. - You look different.
You grimaced. - Different?
- Tired I guess. - She explained. You shrug. Nat was always very good at reading you, well everyone else was in a way. Subtlety was not your strong suit.
- Well, this must be the quietest moment I have had in weeks. - You joked, but Nat frowned.
- I thought things would be quieter here. The south is less wild, isn't it?
You bit the inside of your cheek, thinking a little.
- I don't know, Nat. Everywhere there is someone who wants to shoot us.
- Where did you get this? - She asked after a moment, you looked at her, and realized that she was signaling with her eyes the wound on your shoulder. You gave her a sideways smile.
- In a fight I didn't have to buy. - You sneer and then add. - It was an ambush a few miles away.
-Is that why Peggy punished you? - she questioned, and you laughed.
- Oh no. I am grounded for getting into a shootout with a local gang, all because of a card game.
Nat blinked for a few seconds.
- I'll pretend you didn't say that.
You laughed at her expression and she nudged you, muttering something like "idiot," which made you smile more.
- But how about you, did you manage to find what you were looking for?
- Of course, sweetheart. - said the girl in a smug tone, and you rolled your eyes, smiling. - I was going to tell the captain how things are in New Austin, but when I passed his tent he had a serious expression and a hand on his head, as if he had a migraine. I knew right away that I had to talk to you first.
- He was worried that yesterday's fight would jeopardize the plan. - You said.
- I think he was worried about you.
You looked away, not knowing what to say. A moment passed in silence, until Nat nudged your leg lightly with her finger, a mischievous look on her face.
- I brought a present for the birthday girl. - She joked, making you laugh uncomfortably. - But I don't think you'll care much.
You frowned and asked her why in a confused tone. Nat laughed before adding:
- Another redhead is going to take all your attention, as far as I know. - She teased, and you looked away, blushing at the insinuation.
- Everyone decided to tease me about it all of a sudden. - You grumbled, making Nat laugh.
- Because it's fun. - She retorted, and you just crossed your arms. Seeing your embarrassed face, she lifted one of her legs, only to push your face away with her foot. You let out a loud exclamation, laughing as she pushed you away.
You spent the afternoon together, playing and talking. You were not impressed by how much you missed Natasha, after all, you had always been very close. Being a few years older, she joined the gang a few months after you, and a year before the twins. Peggy was the one who found her, you knew that she had no family and that she had run away from a convent in Saint Denis just as you had run away from an orphanage when you were a child; the difference was that Nat was already fourteen when she did. And then she joined the gang, and became a kind of big sister to you.
When Nat left your tent to go talk to Steve about the information she got from New Austin, you decided to get out of bed for a while. Walking over to the campfire, you felt a twinge of pain as you felt an arm rest on your injured shoulder, and Pietro quickly apologized, changing his position only to leave his hand under your healthy shoulder.
- What is it, Pietro? - You asked him.
- I wanted to apologize. - He spoke clumsily, and you looked at him in confusion. He looked down at the floor. - For your birthday, you know, I got you stuck here because of Limpany.
You punched him lightly in the stomach, smiling.
- Don't be an idiot. - You said. - You know I don't care about birthdays, and besides, we take care of each other.
Pietro smiled pushing you lightly with his hand on your shoulder as he agreed with his head, his cheeks flushed.
- I'll make sure we do something fun at least. - He said as he walked beside you to the fire. He looked around, as if thinking of some activity. - Maybe Potts will let us go fishing.
- Is this your idea of fun? - You scoffed as you sat down by the fire. Actually, you liked fishing, but you didn't miss opportunities to mess with your friends. Pietro laughed, sitting down beside you.
- I meant you, me, and Wanda. - He joked, but you refused to look at him. - Unless of course you prefer I stay here.
- I'm not saying anything. - You grumbled, grabbing a stick out of the grass to stir against the embers of the fire. Pietro just laughed at your grumpy posture.
It didn't take long for Potts to get your attention, asking for help with the supply wagon. You and Pietro were in charge of peeling vegetables for the next few hours.
On the morning of your birthday, you woke up to someone jumping on you. Honestly, you were more surprised to realize that the bed could withstand the commotion than to watch Natasha wake you up excitedly. She was always so loud when she knew she was annoying you.
You thanked her for the gesture by pushing her off the bed, and laughed when you heard her fall on her ass on the floor, complaining that you were a brute. You stretched your body and then stood up, intending to wash your face.
Steve came over to greet you as soon as you left your tent, and he had a gentle smile on his face.
- Happy birthday, Y/N. - He spoke as he gave her a short hug. - Let's celebrate tonight, shall we?
You nodded, embarrassed by the attention. You spent the next few minutes getting hugs and compliments from everyone. When Pietro gave you a tight hug, you laughed, watching him get a mischievous expression as he held a package in front of you.
- Get ready for my amazing gift. - He said, waving his right hand over the box, imitating a gesture of suspense.
- Ready I am. - You jokingly replied.
Grabbing the package, you opened it carefully, appreciating that he had taken the time to wrap everything. You let out a surprised sigh as you looked at the new set and sheet of classic playing cards. Opening the deck, you looked at the details on the cards, impressed with the quality of the edition, noticing that it was one of those special versions, with gold scratches, and you let out a giggle of excitement when you saw the acrylic sticker that came along with the set. It was a collectible card, and on this one you saw the picture of "Erik Lehnsherr", the famous German gambler.
- I loved it, Pietro. Thank you. - You said to him, hugging him by the shoulders.
- We are all going to enjoy this present. - Nat added, smiling at you both. You laughed, putting the set back in the box, you would replace your old one as soon as you got back to your room.
Nat also had something in her hands, but she didn't wrap it, probably because of the rush of the trip, but you loved it anyway. She had a mischievous smile when she lifted the bottle to her face.
- Scotch whisky, miss, limited edition 1802. - She narrated in a voice that made you laugh a little. You kissed her cheek and hugged her tight.
- Thank you, Nat. - You said when you let go of her, she just smiled at you.
Waving to you, Natasha left in the direction of Steve's hut, she probably needed her chores assigned to her. Pietro asked you if you wanted to join him in hunting some rabbits and you said you were just going to get your rifle.
Bucky stopped you on your way out of your tent.
- I also have a present for you. - he said, shifting his weight from one foot to the other.
You smiled, grabbing the package he handed you. Hanging the rifle on your healthy shoulder, you tore the ribbon from the gift, opening it carefully. You looked at your new scout jacket, the brown fabric glistening in your eyes.
- Oh, Bucky, I love it. - You tell him, looking at him tenderly. Bucky looks slightly embarrassed, but hugs you tight.
- I thought that one was getting small. - He comments, pointing at your clothes. It was an affectionate comment, since he was also the one who had given you the jacket you were wearing several years ago.
He smiled at you one last time before leaving. And you went back inside the tent only to leave the jacket on your bed, not wanting to get it dirty during the hunt, and intending to wear it later.
Pietro was waiting for you at Knight's side, but you reminded him that you were only allowed to hunt on the outskirts of the camp. He rolled his eyes, but agreed, and you walked together toward the hunting area.
It didn't take long for each of you to hunt two rabbits, the animals were plentiful in the area, and even though Pietro was not as good a hunter as he was a thief, he still knew how to shoot.
You knocked his hat playfully, and he laughed at you. You walked back to camp amid giggles and playful shoving, while you bet on who could get there first.
You left the carcasses in the wagon destined for the skinning, and you let out a surprised exclamation when you saw Thor behind the counter.
- Why are you already up? - you asked in a worried tone. The man just smiled at you.
- I wasn't going to miss your birthday, kid. - He replies, and then gives a small pat against his own chest, where you watched him get shot a week ago - Besides, I'm healing quickly. I should be back in action soon.
- I'm glad to see you feeling better, Thor. - You told him and he just nodded, picking up one of the carcasses you and Pietro had left and beginning to skin it.
You and Peter were walking back to the kitchen when Potts just pointed to the creek, signaling for you both to clean yourselves up. You both exchanged an amused look, and giggling, walked towards the water to wipe the rabbit's blood off your hands.
- Do you know when Wanda will be back from Limpany? - You let the question slip and Pietro gave you an insinuating "you can't even hide it" look, and you felt your cheeks heat up a little. He shrugged.
- Actually, she was supposed to come back last night. - He said, not looking worried. - Maybe she and Monica decided to wait a little longer to see if anyone who had seen us would show up.
You grumbled in agreement, without really thinking about it, and then, as you finished wiping away the blood that remained between your fingers, the possibility hit you.
- Pietro. - You called out to him, and he looked at you curiously as he noticed your frown. - Do two women alone in a city that makes money from brothels sound like a safe idea to you?
Pietro blinked in confusion.
- But Wanda and Monica are scary. - He retorted, and you almost agreed, until you remembered.
- Not when they're disguised as society ladies. - You spoke up, feeling a sense of panic settle in your stomach at the possibility that Wanda was in danger.
You stood up at the same moment as Pietro, and he nodded towards Potts, who seemed distracted by the inventory of the supply wagon.
Sneaking through the woods beside the camp, you grabbed the reins of Knight as quietly as you could while pulling him into the woods, with Pietro and his horse at your side. When you reached a more remote area, you quickly mounted your horses and headed toward Limpany.
- Damn it, Y/N, I hope you are wrong about this. - Pietro said with a worried look on his face. You swallowed dryly, wishing you were.
Limpany was noisy and busy. You let out a low groan as you noticed the several wagons parked at the entrance, a symbol of an oil company painted on each one.
- I think Stark's employees have just arrived at the Heartlands. - You said to Pietro as you tied your horses against a fallen log at the entrance to Limpany.
- Interesting choice for the first stop. - He mentioned it in an ironic tone. You smiled.
- Wanna bet that half of them are married? - You said in a tone of irony and irritation. Pietro nodded, accepting the bet.
You signaled for him to adjust his hat, to hide as much of his face as possible. But judging by the number of strangers in town at the moment, you would hardly be recognized. Even in daylight, there were a considerable number of prostitutes on the streets, snuggled up against various men. You looked around trying to spot Wanda or Monica, but were unable to find them. You noticed that there were several horses tied up in front of the Brothel, and the Saloon and nudged Pietro on the shoulder.
- I think we'll need to look inside the brothel and the saloon. - You warned him and he nodded his head in agreement as he noticed the horses. - If we split up, we can find them faster.
Pietro turned his head to you quickly with a frown.
- Not a chance. - He denied it, and seeing that you were going to try to argue, he added: - You have a bruised shoulder, I'm not leaving you alone.
You sighed in agreement, knowing that he was right. It wouldn't help if you ended up getting hurt more.
- Let's try the brothel first. - you said, walking toward the building. A sign on the door caught Pietro's attention, and he poked you on the arm to make you read the "No weapons" sign.
- That's a problem . - He said, and you pushed him aside, blocking the view of anyone leaving the brothel for him. You took off the belt with the holster and handed it to him.
- You keep it then. - You grumbled, and he looked at you with confusion.
- Why am I the one who has to wait?
- Because you're a pretty boy, honey. - You sneer, and he continues with the same confused expression. - You walk into this brothel with no one with you, and ten harlots will jump on you, very much in search of what's in your wallet.
He sighed and shrugged, knowing that you were right. That didn't stop him from retorting:
- It's not like the girls aren't going to jump on you too.
- The difference is that I have a few minutes head start before they realize that I don't work here.
- Next time, wear a dress and you'll get a free pass. - teased Pietro, and you just pushed him away with amusement.
- Well, wish me luck. - You said, flashing him a nervous smile.
You heard Pietro whisper a "good luck" to you when you were already on the stairs, and then you went in. There was a counter, but judging by the number of customers, there must have been a total rush in the place, and you took advantage of the lack of a receptionist to sneak up the wooden stairs to the second floor.
You saw a lot of things you didn't want to see, from the breasts of strangers, to men with their swinging cocks on display. Occasionally you bumped into half-naked people, and watched with some amusement as a man was kicked out of the room with his pants down. It was a chaotic environment to say the least, and you didn't worry about being recognized, as there didn't seem to be any harlots available to notice you.
The most embarrassing part was checking the rooms. After the fifth open door where you interrupted somebody's fucking, you let out an impatient grumble as you walked to the end of the hall. Then the coat hanging in the corner of the door caught your attention. The sheriff's badge glowing prominently against the cloth.
You opened the door next, surprised to find only the sheriff, naked and asleep. You went into the room and started to look around for some more interesting information. Then you heard footsteps against the wood, and as you turned around, the vision took your breath away.
Wanda was wearing a simple purple dress, the corset marking her silhouette. She pinned up her hair, and applied a little make-up, highlighting her lips and her emerald orbs. Suddenly you couldn't formulate a sentence.
She looked at you with a mixture of concern and seriousness, closing the bedroom door.
- What are you doing here? - She asked in a low tone, and it took you a considerable moment to be able to think of the answer. You worried that she might think you had hit your head.
- You were gone a long time. Pietro and I thought...
- Pietro is here? - she exclaimed and looked quickly at the sheriff who had moved slightly.
- Sorry, we thought you guys were in trouble.
Wanda looked quickly at you, and then shifted the weight of her feet, before walking towards the small dresser in the room.
- We were in trouble. - She confessed and you straightened your posture at the information, feeling your chest fill with concern. - That's why I brought him here.
You felt your cheeks heat up a little and swallowed the bad feeling in your stomach.
- I think you did what you had to do. - You grumbled, and Wanda frowned at you. When she understood what you were implying, she let out a nasal laugh.
- I didn't have sex with him, my God! - She clarifies and you blink in surprise, relief replacing the bad feeling from before. - I just lied and said I would. And then when he got here, I hit him over the head.
- Oh, right. Got it. - You nod, looking at the ground.
- We ended up in trouble, though. Those men from the factory, they've been surrounding us all night.
- Why didn't you go back to the camp?
- Because he said he would report you and Pietro. - Wanda explains, pointing at the fainted sheriff. You shake your head, confused. The redhead walks over to the bedside table and pulls out two wanted posters, each with a drawing very similar to your and Pietro's face.
- I don't understand, Wands. - You sigh. - Tell me everything from the beginning.
- Y/N, the one thing you need to understand is that this town is involved in a lot of shit that goes way beyond a local gang. - Wanda pushed you slightly to the right, bending down toward the sheriff. He didn't wake up when she cut a golden key from the necklace he was wearing. You looked at her curiously. - We're going to need this to free Monica.
- Monica's in jail? - You exclaimed, and Wanda gave you a wry smile.
- It was a temporary incident.
Wanda grumbled, but then you heard the door slowly open, and she assumed a serious expression. Before you could turn around, Wanda pulled you forward by the arm, and you felt your heart race as your bodies came closer together. And then you held your breath as you felt her slip both arms around your waist, wrapping her arms around you. Wanda wrapped her face around your neck, pressing your body against hers. You let out a deep groan, and barely registered the words coming from a voice in the doorway:
- Sweetie, are you using this room?
Wanda made sure to press against your body with her arms and keep her face against your neck as she answered.
- Clearly.
The other woman laughed despite Wanda's harsh reply, and you thought she whispered "enjoy it" before she left, but you weren't sure of anything anymore.
Wanda's body seemed to warm against yours when you were alone, and you decided to face the window at the far end of the room, to keep your body from not obeying your reason.
Wanda released you softly, and you felt her hands slide down your spine and then back to your front, until she released you completely. She took a step back, her cheeks flushed and her gaze on the floor.
- Sorry about that. - She whispered without looking up. You felt your face flush.
- I never imagined that our first time in a brothel would be like this. - The only stupid comment your brain could formulate came out of your mouth before you could control it. You wouldn't judge Wanda if she never spoke to you again after that ridiculous joke, but she didn't care. With a mischievous glint in her eye, she said:
- And how did you imagine it would be?
You almost said "less clothes", almost. In reality you just choked in surprise and felt your knees weaken at the intensity of her gaze. But then the moment was broken when you heard a banging sound on the windowpane. You frowned at Pietro, who was standing outside.
- Tell me you're not hanging over the edge. - You complain as you open the window.
- Of course not, I don't know how to climb buildings. - He replies with amusement. - I found a ladder.
Wanda slaps Pietro on the head, looking at him seriously.
- You two have completely lost your minds. - She says. - Great idea to go back to the same place where they tried to kill you.
- Look little sister, you are being very ungrateful. - he debated stubbornly. - And why am I the only one getting beaten? It was your girlfriend who came up with the idea.
You grumbled at the nickname, and closed the window in Pietro's face. You didn't look at Wanda as you picked up the wanted posters and the key to the jail from the floor, but when you noticed her confused expression, you grabbed her by the hand, pulling her out of the room and toward the exit of the brothel.
You went around the building, finding Pietro on the opposite side from where you had left him. In his presence, you remembered to let go of Wanda's hand, and didn't notice the almost disappointed look she got when you did.
- Monica is in jail. - You tell Pietro, who looks at you in surprise. You hand him the key.  - I need a drink. - You announce as you leave for the saloon.
When you get to the bar, you notice that it is as crowded as the brothel, but the people here are more focused on who drinks more than who gets laid more. You stand in the far corner and wait for the bartender to serve you. You feel a slight burning sensation on your shoulder, and as you reach out to touch the bandage, you groan as you feel them wet with blood.
You buy a whiskey, and pour three shot glasses full into your mouth, feeling your throat burn. You can barely feel the bruise now.
Preparing a fourth glass, you let out a mixed exclamation of surprise and pain when someone pulls you by the shoulder, turning you around.
- I know you! - says the unknown man, clearly drunk. You try to argue, but he starts shouting. - Yes, yes! You shot those guys!
He is starting to draw unwanted attention, and you really hope that everyone is too drunk to notice anything. Before you can push him away, someone pulls him off you.
You watch in shock as Wanda lands a clean punch to the man's jaw, and he staggers for a few seconds before falling onto a table. As he falls, chaos ensues and suddenly people start fighting among themselves. You always hated bar fights. Wanda quickly pulls you out and you both duck and dodge a thrown chair just before you walk out the door.
- Thanks for that, I guess. - You tell her, letting yourself be pulled toward the horses by the hand.
Pietro and Monica are already there, waiting for you. You notice that Pietro seems almost shy around the other woman, and you make a mental note to tease him about this at another time.
- Let's go before you cause a second shooting in this place. - Wanda says, and she gives your hand a gentle squeeze before letting go, which leaves you with a tingling sensation.
- It's good to see you, by the way. - You say to Monica as soon as you mount the Knight's cell. Monica smiles at you, saying that it was very good to see you too.
- Race to camp? - suggests Pietro, and you all exchange mischievous glances before you speed up the gallop of your horses. Your laughter mingles with the wind as you ride at high speed.
Pietro won the race, typical you thought. Since he was a child, he was as fast on foot as he was on horseback. But even though you lost, you enjoyed the ride, laughing with your friends as you dismounted from your horses. Wanda and Monica entered the camp first, and you and Pietro snuck out the back, not wanting to be seen running away from punishment. You were very lucky that Potts believed you were just playing fight at the far end of the creek, as you and Pietro used to do when you were kids.
You walked around the camp, feeling extremely tired, and then you remembered that you hadn't really rested for a long time. Sighing, you found a space under a tree high enough to provide some shadow, and sat down. Putting your hat in front of your face, you thought about closing your eyes for a moment.
Feeling a gentle pressure on your feet, you were startled awake. Blinking in confusion at the dark, you realized that your hat was on your face. Removing it as you let out a yawn, you looked around in confusion as you realized that you had been asleep for a few hours, judging by the color of the sky, which already signaled sunset.
Nat smiled at you as she watched you adjust to your surroundings, and she offered her hand to help you stand up.
- You have a bed, you know. - She teased, and you just gave her a corner smile, wiping some of the grass off your pants.
- I was just going to take a nap. - You retorted as you walked towards your hut, Nat not following you, as you noticed the bucket full of fish she was carrying.
- A six-hour nap. - She teases, drawing a quick laugh from you. She turns in the opposite direction, dumping the bucket on Thor's cart, who is the one who usually skins the animals that arrive at the camp. You go into your tent, looking for some clean clothes.
You don't smell so bad, but you decide to take a bath anyway, after all you have been in a fight today. You remember to grab your new jacket before you leave for the deeper part of the stream, where everyone usually bathes.
Arriving at the edge of the creek, you leave your clothes on the high part of the grass, so they don't get wet, and begin to undress. You are already without your boots and blouse, ready to unbutton your pants when Pietro pushes you into the water.
- Really? - You exclaim in a mixture of irritation and humor, while he laughs. You think he is an idiot, but you laugh too.
Pietro pulls his own shirt over his head, and then quickly takes off his pants and shoes. He takes a few steps back and then runs, jumping into the creek, and splashing water everywhere on impact. You laugh as he pretends to drown.
- Since when do you shower often, now? - You tease him by getting out of the water to take off your wet pants. Pietro pretends to laugh.
- I'm a very clean boy, if you ask me. - He retorts, splashing water in his face.
You pretend to agree, grimacing. He rolls his eyes at you. You assume a suggestive expression, and nod for him to look away. He laughs, but turns away so that you can remove your underwear.
It was common for you to shower with other members of the team, especially with those who grew up with you: Wanda, Pietro, Monica and Nat. Much because you had been doing this since you were children. Besides that, living in an outlaw camp, it was all about sharing. It was funny to think that if you were not who you are, or if someone from the outside saw the life you were leading, you would probably be forced to marry Pietro now. It was nice to have that level of intimacy with someone, but you can't help but think that it wasn't the same showering with Pietro, as it was with Wanda. Everything was different with Wanda, but it was also the same. You couldn't explain it.
You become quiet as you get lost in your thoughts, and Pietro splashes some water on your face, causing you to let out an irritated exclamation.
- You were making that strange face again. - He jokes, while lowering himself into the water. You only realize that he is taking off his own underwear when he throws the recently removed, completely soaked item onto the grass.
- What face?
- your "I'm overthinking things" face. - He explains with an amused expression.
- I don't know what you're talking about. - You retort, looking away, he rolls his eyes, and you are silent again. You rub some of the soap you brought on your body before handing it to Pietro.
- I reckon you think too much. - He grumbles, and you let out a wry laugh.
- It's kind of the function of our heads, you know.
He laughs as he rinses his hair.
- I meant that you don't have to do this. - He says. - You can just act, you know.
- No, Pietro. I don't know. - You grumble, not really understanding what he was saying. He dips his head in the creek to clean the soap, and then walks away from you, leaving the soap on top of the little wooden box where it is usually kept.
- I mean that if you keep thinking about what you have to do, you'll miss the chance to do something. - He says, coming back to you. - If there is something you really want to do, just do it. Don't think about it so much, because when you make that expression, I know you're finding a thousand reasons not to do what you want to do.
- What if I want to punch you in the face? - You tease him, feeling nervous about the direction of the conversation. Pietro laughs at your attempt to divert the subject.
- As if you needed to think about it. - He says, grumbling, and then he assumes that serious expression, but his eyes are tender. - I think you need to tell her how you feel. Wanda will be pleased to hear it.
You look away just as he says this, your cheeks flushing. And then you almost fall back when you hear Wanda's voice:
- I will be pleased to hear what?
The girl asks in a curious and suggestive tone of voice, Pietro looks at his sister with amusement. And you look away very quickly when you see her unbuckle her dress.
Nat is also with her, and helps her take off her corset, while you stand in the middle of the stream, too interested in the water.
- Now, little sister, you know it's very rude to meddle in other people's affairs, don't you? - Pietro joked, and Wanda laughed.
- It becomes my business when you speak on my behalf, doesn't it? - She retorted, as she turned to thank Nat for helping her out of her dress. - Besides, it's not as if we have secrets from each other.
- I was just telling Y/N that we should do something together. All of us, like when we were children. - You could never get tired of Pietro's innate ability to lie so blatantly. - She suggested we go to the theater, and I said that since you had never been, you would be pleased to know.
Wanda looked at Pietro with a slight suspicion, probably wondering if she actually believed his words. But then she smiled.
- Yeah, I'd be very pleased indeed. - She jokes, and looks at you. She frowns when she notices that you are staring down, playing with your fingers with a certain nervousness. She can't tell what's bothering you, and concentrates on taking off her own dress.
-Of course, little sister. - Pietro says in a suggestive tone, and walks over to you again, standing beside you and putting his arm around your shoulders. - We both know very well that you would love a date...
- Pietro, you're naked, get out of here. - You interrupt him, pushing him in the stomach. He laughs, stumbling to the side with your shove. Wanda and Nat laugh a little, you don't notice the redness in Wanda's face.
Nat and Wanda join you at the creek next. You can't help but feel hyperconscious in Wanda's presence, so you turn away, counteracting the energy that seems to pull you toward her.
- I think I saw Potts bake you a cake earlier. - Nat commented as she grabbed the soap left on the grass. She was very comfortable with her own body, and did not mind showing it to the rest of you. Not that any of you were going to look at her maliciously, but you had to admit that it was at least an image to get used to, breasts swaying in front of you. It was not something you saw often.
- I think I'll try to save some. - You say, and looking at the confused and curious expressions of your friends, you add, - For Bruce, and Carol.
Your friends look away quickly, all assuming an almost sad posture. But Wanda looks at you tenderly.
- They will get better, soon, you know. - She comments, and you look at her, trying to believe her words. - Potts says that Carol's fever has gone down since Maria and Monica returned.
- I think if that happened to me, I would want my wife by my side too. - Pietro commented and you nodded in agreement. And then he took on a mischievous look. - By the way, since Carol improved by seeing her family, maybe Nat should visit Bruce. That might cheer him up.
Nat blushed at the insinuation and jumped towards Pietro, who ran away from her attempts to hit him, while she laughed. You and Wanda laughed at the scene.
- You were trying to get beaten up that whole time, weren't you, boy? - Shouted Nat as she chased after him, Pietro was lucky that running had always been his greatest skill, you thought as you looked at Nat's angry expression. He was confident enough to dodge and still throw water at the girl, which seemed to irritate her even more. You laughed at the interaction, but suddenly realized that while they were playing, you were alone with Wanda. Without clothes.
You turned your face slowly to look at her, watching her loose red hair cascade against her neck. The sun was very low now, and the light made her even more beautiful. You swallowed hard as she turned her face to you, the ghost of her laughter still on her lips.
- One of these days Pietro is going to get a real beating. - Wanda jokes and you blink, trying to stop staring. It takes a moment, but you laugh at the joke.
- One of these days Pietro is gonna get real beaten up. - Wanda jokes and you blink, trying to stop staring. It takes a moment, but you laugh at the joke.
- If he's lucky, it won't be Nat. - You reply in the same tone, and Wanda nods in agreement. She starts rubbing soap on your arms, and you try not to stare.
- You look distracted, almost oblivious. - She says, and you look away, watching Nat finally catch up to Pietro, jumping on top of him and knocking him into the water. You hope they don't drown.
- Why is everyone telling me this? - you retort in an amused tone, Wanda smiles.
- Because it is the truth.
You look at her expecting her to say something else, but she just lathers her hair a little, pushing it to the side. Your gaze has moved down to the collarbone that was once covered by her hair, now exposed. Your brain seems to shut down and you can't look away even when she looks at you, a shy smile at the corner of her lips.
Pietro lets out a shout between laughs, and you are startled, turning your head to look. He had climbed up a high rock to get away from Nat, who was circling around to catch up with him. You looked away when you noticed his exposed intimacy in the air.
And then you almost choked when you looked forward again: Wanda, who before had been with her chest completely submerged in water, had stood up and her breasts were right in front of you. She was looking at Pietro, laughing, the movement made her chest jiggle a little and you felt your face get very warm.
You stumble backwards, feeling your heart racing. Determining that you had reached the limit of nudity for the day, you turned around, leaving the creek. As you moved, Wanda turned her head to you quickly, asking if you were all right. With the image of Wanda's abundant breasts in your mind, you just nodded your agreement without looking at her, hurrying to put on your clothes as quickly as possible. You didn't notice Wanda's flushed face as she watched your naked back.
Properly dressed, you grumbled that you were going to wait for them at the party, and left, finally breathing normally once you were in the area of the cabins. Steve frowned at your reddened face, but you hurried to the campfire area before he asked questions you didn't want to answer.
You only came out of your tent when your breathing and heartbeat were normal again. The images of Wanda's breasts were still in some corner of your mind, but you pushed them away and tried to smile when Steve approached you.
He began to tell stories of his army days, and you tried to pay attention. Peggy and Potts listened intently, and Peggy laughed as she remembered the shared memories, since she and Steve served in the same squadron.
Letting your gaze wander around the camp, you stared at Carol's tent for a second before deciding to go there. Your companions were too distracted by their own conversation to notice you leave.
You opened the tent carefully, and the interior was a little dark, so it took a few seconds for your eyes to get used to the surroundings. Carol was lying on a stretcher, and you were glad to find her awake while she listened to Maria read something attentively. The two women smiled at you when they saw you, and you almost apologized for interrupting the moment, but seeing the tenderness in their eyes, you preferred to believe that you were not disturbing them.
- Hi. - You greeted and stood in the doorway, awkwardly. Maria smiled and stood up, giving your arm a gentle squeeze before leaving, giving you and Carol a bit of privacy.
- Come give me a hug, birthday girl. - Carol asked in a playful tone. She looked better.
You rushed over, giving her a quick hug, not wanting to squeeze her too tightly, for fear of hurting her.
- I heard that you got better. - You commented, sitting on the edge of the bed. - I'm sorry I didn't come sooner, but Pepper didn't want anyone here.
Carol giggled weakly.
- Oh yes, she said I needed to rest.
- Maria was the only one who could come in. Even Pepper wouldn't deny her that after weeks of not seeing you.
The blonde nodded in agreement, a shy smile on her lips. You were quiet for a moment, and as you watched her like this, looking so weak and tired, you felt your stomach clench with guilt and anger.
- Sorry about that, Carol. - The words escaped your mouth quickly, and you looked at the floor, feeling a wave of shame in your chest. Carol frowned, and looked at you with confusion. - If I had been a little faster, you wouldn't be hurt, and you would be with Maria...
Carol held up her hands quickly, asking you to stop apologizing tenderly, and you felt your eyes water, but you obeyed her.
- I can't believe you've been thinking all this time that it was your fault. - She said, and lifted one of her hands to caress your face. - Sometimes services go wrong, child. In fact, it can happen quite often. - She tried to joke, but you didn't smile, and she turned back to a serious expression, trying to reassure you.
You blinked, looking at her expecting her to be angry, but found only tenderness in her eyes.
- We are your family, Y/N. When we are out there, we protect each other. And sometimes that will get us hurt, but we keep going anyway. - She speaks as she looks you in the eye, her fingers tucking some of your hair behind your ear. - You were so brave when we left Armadillo. Helping Bruce when Fury was shot. You could have gone along with the plan, but you knew something was wrong.
You closed your eyes quickly, the memories hitting you with intensity. Carol wiped the tears that streamed down your face. You tried to push the images of Fury being shot away, but they seemed to stick in your head. Taking a deep breath, you opened your eyes, meeting Carol's tender expression.
- I miss him, Carol. - You confess, and she nods.
- I miss him too, Y/N. - She says, and pulls you close, hugging you tight. - He would be proud of you.
You hug for a few moments before you let go, now sitting on the bed next to her. Carol plays with the fingers of your hand before speaking.
- You know, I think Fury's only regret is not going to be at your wedding. - She jokes, and you smile sadly, blushing a little.
- I think he would love to organize something like that. - You remark, and she smiles. You fall silent again, until she lets out an exclamation.
- I have something for you!
- What? - You ask in confusion, and then she moves on the bed and reaches for the bedside table. She pulls out a small package.
- I was happy to hear that Maria managed to retrieve this from my things before she left New Austin. - Carol said and then she held the package out to you. You gave her a grateful look before accepting it.
You carefully unpacked the box, and let out a sigh of contentment as you read the title of the book, "Otis Miller and the Lady with the Black Heart. You loved that collection of books, and after the Armadillo fire, you had lost every volume you had. You thanked Carol as you flipped through the pages quickly, she laughed at your expression completely focused on the present. She knew how much you loved adventure books.
Carol adjusted her own posture on the bed, sitting up completely, you frowned with concern, but she just smiled assuring you that everything is fine. The movement caused the blanket to lift off her body a little, and your eyes were quickly drawn down to the tip of the large bandage on her belly.
Noticing your gaze, Carol gave you a weak smile.
- Don't worry about this. - She spoke, and then lifted the edge of her blouse. She let you run your fingers over the bandage.
- Does it hurt too much? - You asked worriedly, but she nodded and added:
- Not anymore. I just feel a little itchy. - She admitted.
You remembered a few weeks ago, the image of Carol stumbling toward the wagon where you were standing, a huge bloodstain on her belly. Bucky caught her before she hit the ground. You couldn't sleep properly for days.
- If you can shoot, Steve will want you at the bank job. - You joked and Carol laughed.
- I think Maria is going to tie me to this bed for a while. - She comments and you raise your eyebrows.
- I didn't know you were into that sort of thing, Danvers. - You joke and she laughs, her cheeks flushing, pushing you lightly on the shoulder.
- You're hanging out too much with Pietro. - She grumbles and you shrug your shoulders. - Speaking of him, or more precisely, his sister. - She starts and you look away, letting out a sigh and dreading the direction of this conversation. - Last time I asked you, you said that, what were the exact words, "you had great appreciation for her friendship and her company."
Carol teased you about your shameful confession last year, after you had had too many beers and she asked you why you didn't ask Wanda out on a date. She laughed at your sulky face when she debauched your choice of words.
- Suddenly everyone is comfortable nagging me about this. - You murmured, and Carol wiped away tears of laughter before turning to you, an expression suggesting that it was obvious the reason why, but noticing your confused face, she added:
- Are you really oblivious to your displays of affection, or are you pretending to be so that you don't have to deal with the commitment? - Carol asks with an expression that plays with seriousness and teasing. You look away quickly, feeling your face heat up. The question was a very good one actually, but before you could sink into your own thoughts, the blonde next to you nudged you, looking at you with amusement. - You don't have to overthink this. I'm not repressing you, you know. I don't think you mean any harm.
- What if you are right? - You let it slide, without really thinking about it. - What if I'm afraid to deal with my feelings? - Carol frowned at you and you bowed your head. - I just... I don't know what I would do if she rejected me. I would have made things awkward between us, and then I would have lost her friendship. And then things got weird with Pietro too, and...
- My God, girl, breathe. - Interrupted Carol, holding you by the shoulders. She had a curious expression. - Even if Wanda rejects you, which in my opinion seems ridiculous and unlikely, you would still be friends. You've known each other for a long time, Y/N. It's not like she's going to leave the gang because of this.
Carol jokes last, but you are startled by the possibility. She rolls her eyes at your panicked face, and lets out a giggle.
- That would never happen. - She assures. - And you don't have to confess anything you're not ready to say. You can wait until things are normal again.
- It's not as if I haven't waited until now. - You mumble, but it's low enough that Carol doesn't understand. You just shake your head to signal that it's not important.
- I've kept you here long enough. - She says after a moment. - Go enjoy your party a little.
You smile at her, and thank her for the gift again before getting up to leave.

Stuffed Animal HCs
@helpidkhowtodothis You asked, I have now delivered.
Some time ago, I did an ask game in which people sent me the 📂 emoji and I told them something random. And this was one of them.
Tumblr media
Upon farther request, I’ve decided to expand upon this!
Disclaimer: All these hcs are my opinion. I realize I said “every COD character" but these hcs only come up if I write something about them. So if a character isn’t here, it’s likely because I didn’t write a fanfic about them
Enjoy!
The Black Ops 5
Woods: Woods had two toys as a kid: a stuffed frog and a toy train. Both of them shaped his childhood and both of them were left behind when he ran away. The toy train was later recovered, but he never found the frog.
Hudson: Hudson seems like the type that would choose to treat a box like a stuffed animal, but no. He had a stuffed cat which he still keeps around his house. His kids like to dress it up.
Mason: Mason didn't have a stuffed animal so he stole his sister Dot's dolls sometimes when he wanted something to cuddle at night. Eventually she let him keep a few of them.
Menendez: Similar to Mason, Menendez didn't have any stuffed toys and just played with Josefina’s dolls until they lost everything in the earthquake. He later got her new dolls and a dollhouse after the Menendez Cartel was stablized (which you can see in the background when he's looking in the mirror).
Bowman: Bowman had a Peter Rabbit toy. He unfortunately lost it, but he still remembers the fond memories he had with it.
David: @captainsassymills came up with this one and I agree with it: David has a stuffed elephant named Jason. I'd like to also elaborate it's a hot pink elephant.
Harper: Harper had a stuffed dragon which he called Toothy. No one knows he still has it around except David.
Adler: Adler was given a stuffed horse the day he was born, and he carried it everywhere he went. Unfortunately, he left it behind on a cruise ship when he was 2.
Bell: I know in the original answer Bell didn’t have one but I completely forgot a version of Bell does. And it’s a stuffed gazelle, given by Stitch.
Dimitri Petrinko: Dimitri had a stuffed monkey made just for him by his mother. It took his parents months to save up enough money to buy the fabric needed, but the hard work paid off when Dimitri refused to let go of the monkey for days after.
Reznov: For his 1st birthday, Reznov was given a stuffed dog on wheels that made little clicking sounds from a friend. He dragged it around everywhere to annoy his parents.
Modern 4-fare
Roach: Roach has a giant ass chameleons that was bigger than him at 3 years old, when he first got it. He got it from his uncle because he knew everything and everything about chameleons at that age.
Ghost: He didn't have too many toys but then one he did loved a little ostrich, which he won at a fair his mother brought him and his brother to once. Unfortunately, it was torn apart, but he has good memories of it.
Price: Price had a stuffed Eeyore. He dropped it out the car window during a road trip as a kid and his parents were never able to find it. It was the worst day of his life.
Soap: Soap is the type that would proudly announce he had a unicorn as a stuffed animal. Which is exactly what he grew up with. He named it Cheerios.
Farah: Canonly, Farah has a giant stuffed teddy bear which can be found next to her family portrait drawing in MW19. So to balance it out—
Hadir: Hadir gets to have a stuffed animal too! A little striped hyena, which he sometimes scares Farah with. Both of them lost their toys during Barkov's invasion.
Kyle: Kyle had many stuffed animals growing up but his favorite was always a a lamb his grandfather gave him. It was the first stuffed animal he got and the one he hardly parted ways with until he went to he military.
Makarov: I gave him a tiger. I have no idea why, and he calls it Tiger. Probably because I needed to save the bear—
Barkov: —for Barkov. Hand sewn black bear right by his mother. Barkov loved it to pieces and anyone who knows him on a far more personal level may have had the chance to meet it.
Zakhaev: He was given three stuffed dolls which he mutilated within 2 weeks after receiving them. After that, his parents decided he deserved no more stuffed toys.
Victor: Unlike his father, Victor loved his toys, his most memorable being a Likho doll (one-eyed deformed biped monster) his father gave him.
Zombies
I only have one here since Samantha has a canon bear.
Dempsey: Although Dempsey had more wooden toys, he had a straw stuffed cow which he made after seeing a friend who made a stuffed toy.

Hello! I love your writing! I'm gonna send five prompts, I hope at least one of them inspires you and you have fun with them. Prompt #1: Wang Lingjiao (Wen Chao's mistress) interacting with Meng Yao in Nightless City, can be a ship but not necessarily (I... guess you could count shipping it as infidelity towards Wen Chao??? so def don't write ship if it makes you uncomfortable). Preferably WLJ pov, with her making numerous not always accurate assumptions about Meng Yao's role at Wen Ruohan's court, maybe sort of assuming he is to WRH what she is to WC and therefore approaching him with something like ~camaraderie (whether MY plays along or laughs her off I will leave to you)
ao3
Friends were a luxury that Wang Lingjiao had never been well-off enough to have, not when her tenuous position might be lost at any minute by a pair of seductive eyes or a new (not better) pair of tits, but it wasn’t like she was totally without any fellow feeling.
“Well done,” she said to the boy with Nie braids in his hair like he thought it’d make him something he wasn’t.
He blinked, surprised, and fixed her with the same pleasant, competent, I’m-here-for-your-pleasure smile that she’d seen him use on everyone else. “Lady Wang, whatever do you mean?”
Wang Lingjiao rolled her eyes. Sure, he wasn’t doing anything more stunning than getting himself some off-hours food from the kitchens, same as her, but there was no way he didn’t know what she meant.
He knew. Oh, he knew.
“For selling something else,” she clarified, and saw the darkness creep into that bright and clear gaze he was always pretending with, hiding behind; he couldn’t deny that he knew exactly what she was saying now. Personally, she’d rather be on her back in Wen Chao’s bed than helping out in the Fire Palace, but it was the principle of the thing. “And drop the ‘lady’ shit while we’re in the Nightless City. There’s no point in pissing off Lady Ma.”
His face didn’t give away any obvious tells, like eyebrows shooting up or eyes going wide, but she could feel that he was surprised. “You – care about that?”
Ma Liyuan was Wen Chao’s wife, officially, and Wang Lingjiao’s official job was as her maid, except of course she didn’t do any maid stuff because she was too busy fucking Wen Chao. Still, she would have thought that this Meng Yao character would know better.
“Born in a brothel, were you?” she guessed, and his face closed up. “Don’t be so squeamish. She told me to do it, of course. If she can’t keep him, better that she control him through me than let someone from the outside sink their claws into him. Doesn’t mean she wants it rubbed in her face or anything, though.”
It wasn’t an uncommon story, and he nodded slowly as she went to pick out some food – she could get better fare when she ate with Wen Chao, of course, but he liked the illusion of her being dainty and pristine, as if you could get tits like hers without having a decent meal on the regular, and so she supplemented in private.
“Someone told me you were from Yingchuan,” he said from behind her. “Yingchuan Wang sect.”
“I am,” she said, tearing at the flesh of an apple with her teeth. “What, the intonation didn’t give me away?”
“It’s not that,” he said. “I thought – Yingchuan Wang is a cultivation sect.”
Gentry, he meant.
“Sure is,” Wang Lingjiao said, and her lips twisted in derision. “What, did you think it was all fun and games after you get brought across the threshold? Did your mother fill your head with dreams of your legitimate father sweeping in and buying your freedom and hers, setting her up in a nice little courtyard and you in disciple robes, then seeing your merit and giving you the respect you deserve?”
He was quiet. Brothel girls, she thought to herself. Always the same old tune.
“My mother was a whore, too, only she did get brought in as a concubine,” she said. “Nice and official, past the threshold and everything. The official wives hated her, of course: shorted her on firewood in the winter and water in the summer, always gave her the worst pieces of cloth to make clothing and no allowance to buy anything else, gave us incense that’d give you itches and food that gave you the runs.”
“That happens everywhere,” he said.
“She got that nice little courtyard,” Wang Lingjiao said. “It even had a nice little gateway to the outside world – not for her to go out, mind you, that wouldn’t be proper for an official concubine. But it worked perfectly well for men to come in, with all the earnings flowing to the family coffers.”
She laughed at the expression on his face.
“It’s one pimp or another,” she told him. “Men always want something from you, always, don’t you know that? And when they think you’re already dirty, they don’t think too hard about what they’re asking. I was born inside the door to a proper legitimate father, never spent a day of my life in a brothel, and they still sold me out just the same as any madam – no, worse. The stuff these righteous bastards ask for is always ten times worse.”
“Worse?” he echoed.
“Isn’t it?” she asked him. “Even a whore that’s lost her charm still doesn’t have to do much more than lie on her back and spread her legs, but look at you – look at me. Running around catering to their every need, doing every nasty deed that they don’t want to do because that’s all we’re good for in their eyes.”
He grimaced.
“I’m in charge of getting new women for A-Chao’s bed, when he’s in the mood for variety,” Wang Lingjiao said. “And for getting rid of any accidents that might happen later, my own or others’. The Wen clan doesn’t believe in them, if you understand me; if he wants kids, he’ll get them through Lady Ma or nobody. And if a woman turns him down, it’s my job to punish her, or else he’ll start saying I don’t care enough, that I’m looking elsewhere…”
She laughed and took a bite of some pork.
“I’d do it anyway, of course,” she said, chewing. “All those little bitches that think they’re better than me, it’s a pleasure to knock them down to size. And surprise, surprise, once they don’t have their looks, suddenly they’re more than happy to come around begging at A-Chao’s door to see what they can get, since now the righteous ones don’t want them anymore…Peel off all that shiny exterior and it’s all the same underneath.”
Meng Yao didn’t like what she was saying, she could tell. Not that she cared.
“Find yourself a fool,” she advised him. “A-Chao’s not bad to me, all things considered. I’ve been by his side for a few years now and his tastes are pretty run-of-the-mill, not like his brother or his father; a bit of ego stroking - ooh, you’re so strong, so capable, I’ve never seen anyone as big as you, that sort of thing - and he likes coming on my tits. Sect Leader Wen, though? He’s too clever. You won’t be able to keep his interest for long, not even with those ingenious little torture machines you keep inventing for him, and then he’ll have you doing the real scut work.”
“I appreciate your consideration,” he said stiffly. Didn’t like his work being compared to someone like her, did he?
Men.
“I hear things about the brothels in Lanling,” she offered, just to needle him. “Not just perfume and flowers and a bit of witty conversation, not for men with all the money in the world; they like getting a little extra. If you’d gotten taken in the way you wanted, I’d bet that’s the job you’d get: you’d be seeing those women every day, bringing the women in smiling and taking them out crying – or worse. Some jobs you aren’t meant to come back from, after all; my best friend growing up ended up that way. You couldn’t even recognize the body as human below the neck.”
He was too well-trained to glare, but Wang Lingjiao could tell he wanted to. Someone like him, who signed up to do torture work, probably wouldn’t mind the bodies, she reflected, and shook her head.
“What’s Qinghe like, anyway?” she asked, nodding at his braids, actually curious. “Secretive sorts, and the one or two times my people acted as hosts to their inner sect disciples, they always turned down any offers for late night company.”
“I wouldn’t know,” he said.
“Stop having a stick up your ass. I’m not saying you provided services yourself, and even if you did I’m hardly one to judge. I just want to know. You were close with that big man of theirs, their sect leader, weren’t you? Sect Leader Wen sure talks about it enough.”
Talked about it the way Wen Chao talked about Wang Lingjiao getting close to a woman he was pursuing, sometimes. There was really no accounting for taste – Sect Leader Wen could have any woman he wanted and often did, her and Lady Ma included, and even sometimes at the same time; yet what he really wanted, apparently, was to hear Meng Yao talk about Sect Leader Nie’s personal habits.
Probably he wanted the joy in breaking him or something. Wang Lingjiao didn’t make it her business to try to guess, though she supposed Meng Yao did.
“No way someone as sharp as you didn’t pick up some clues about what he likes,” she continued. “Come on, what is it? He like beating his whores or something?”
“He didn’t frequent whores,” Meng Yao said. “And he didn’t take lovers.”
He smiled, faintly, probably at her expression of disbelief.
“He liked slaughtering Wen-dogs,” he added. “Rather a lot. See that you don’t end up on the wrong side of his saber. He didn’t make allowances for women.”
Wang Lingjiao tossed her hair – there was no need to bring in blood and war into their perfectly nice conversation! – and huffed. “Oh, I get you. The marrying type, then?” she sneered. “The ones that’ll give you their heart and forgive you for everything, then end up wearing green hats for cuckolds when it turns out the one they like isn’t near as virtuous as them? What a fool!”
“I thought you said I should find myself a fool,” Meng Yao said mildly.
“You still have to be able to keep him,” she mocked. “If you could get someone like Sect Leader Nie on the hook, why would you be busting your ass here?”
That shut him up.
“Well, your loss is Sect Leader Wen’s gain, I guess,” she said, and put aside her plate without washing it. The kitchen staff could clean up for her. “Ugh, I can’t wait for this war to be over already. I miss the discussion conferences! Even though I had to stay back with the servants, at least you got to see some new people…that last one, with the archery, that was a fun one.”
She grinned. “All the sect leaders came here to sit at Sect Leader Wen’s feet, your father included. He asked all three of his housekeeping maids to serve him in bed, you know. All at once. Brave man, at his age…come to think of it, you might want to check the nursery. See if you have some siblings there. Who knows? Maybe they’ll grow up to be competition.”
Meng Yao said nothing.
Wang Lingjiao laughed again.
“Have fun in the Fire Palace, Meng Yao,” she said, sashaying away. “Try not to end up on the wrong side of it.”
See? It was almost like being friends.
