Can you do an angst Spencer and reader where they have an argument about their friends with benefits situation just before he goes to play baseball with Morgan and he is devastated when you don’t show but at the last minute he sees you in the crowd with a ‘Reid’ jersey on 😭😭
Situationship
My response to this request <3
Tumblr media
"Because, maybe I'm not ready for that step in this... situationship," you frown as you hold Spencer's face between your hands.
You're straddling him, only wearing his shirt which is open after the two of you essentially attacked each other for the last few hours. You were sore between your legs but still so turned on as you tugged on the ends of his hair. He looked up at you through thick eyelashes and doe eyes.
"It's not like that for me. I'm serious about you. I would never do what he did," he eases you off of him gently and stands. His dark jeans are open and your eyes follow his happy trail down until it disappears behind the waistband of his black boxers.
"I'm not saying you will..." you start. Your last friends with benefits situation ended in disaster.
"You can't keep comparing me to him. I think I've more than proven that my feelings for you go beyond superficial or sexual," he shakes his head and sighs.
"Spencer," you reach for him. He pulls away from your grip and enters his walk in closet.
You and Spencer had been friends for two years before one night, three months ago, things changed and... well it seemed the two of you had wanted each other for a while.
But before... you were friends with Finn for five years, a year of that was spent as a friend with benefits. Except he only led you to believe he wanted more in order to keep you in his bed. Things went south when he got some other girl pregnant. The friendship couldn't be saved after that. And in his own words, he didn't see you as worth anything more than sex.
You had to keep this line drawn with Spencer, you couldn't hope for more because what if he doesn't actually want you that way? What if he just thinks he does? Truthfully you didn't want your heart broken again and you didn't want to lose another friend.
He emerged from his closet with a lilac button up hanging over his brown jeans as his nimble fingers worked the buttons.
"You don't want more with me, I promise you," you plead with him. You pull your leggings on.
"How do you know?" Pain spread across his features in the form of furrowed eyes and puppy dog eyes that clenched your heart.
You didn't want to say you thought he was too good to be true. You didn't want to say he deserved better, because he did.
"That's what I thought," he sassed. "I know where your boundaries lie. I won't invite you to things with my team moving forward."
You could tell that the words were painful for him to say. His team was his family. You hadn't hung out with them before- for this reason.
"I want to support you, I just can't..." you knew your fear was controlling you.
"It's fine. Lock the door when you leave," he pulled on his FBI baseball cap and exited his apartment.
His words and abrupt exit felt like more of a goodbye than just him going to the game. You swallowed hard.
--
Spencer wiped sweat from his forehead. The game had been rough and he couldn't stop questioning why he agreed to participate. You weighed heavy on his mind.
He wrapped his hands around the bat, practicing his swing as he scanned the crowd. JJ and Garcia wave at him and he smiles. Suddenly his eyes spot a familiar head of hair, hair that had been curled in his hands hours before as you moaned beneath him.
You came.
You were sitting two bleachers behind his team with a big iced coffee and what appeared to be a baseball jersey. His baseball jersey. He hadn't worn it obviously as it was a gag gift from Derek.
But you wore it over your signature leggings and were smiling at him like you had resolved yourself to the reality of him affections.
Derek ushered him to the home plate where evidently the team depended on him to win the game. Wonderful.
He remembered his form that Derek taught him and squinted against the sun as he heard you cheering him on. His heart seized when he heard you cheering for him. the ball flew towards him and... miss.
"This guy's got nothing," one of the other team mates taunted.
"Come on baby!" You cheer, unyielding in claiming him. He took a deep breath and focused on the next pitch.
This time he swung just in time, sending the ball through the air with such force it took him a moment to remember what to do next.
"Run!" The team yelled.
"To first base baby!" Your voice broke through the noise. He dropped the bat and took off.
Shit. Shit. Shit.
He couldn't believe he was still running between the bases, the thought of scooping you into his arms spurning him forward. His eyes locked on the opposing teammate who was about to hurl the ball to first base as he picked up speed.
Derek ushered him in and there was nothing else to do but what he saw on TV- jump. So he did, a sliding jump sent him to home base before the catcher caught that ball.
Cheers erupted and he knew that he got the winning home run. Derek pulled him off the ground and hugged him as adrenaline pumped to his head. He was laughing and smiling as he met your eyes over Derek's shoulder.
You gave him a small wave and a bright smile.
"Come on, there's someone I want you to meet," he told his team and gestured towards you.
A sense of resolve settled within you as you moved to meet the people he called family. Maybe Spencer really was different. He pulled you under his arm and held you close as you all spoke amongst yourselves.
You knew when he left that apartment it was time to call the sexual stuff quits or take a chance and dive head first into him. You were glad you took a chance as he lazily circled his thumb over your hand while your fingers were interlocked.

please could i request a top!reader x bottom!santana.
It’s like she acts all big and bad in glee club and R always calms her down then someone talks bad about her, like Rachel with the stripper line about her and the usually calm and collected peace keeper R changes at a snap of a mf finger. You see Quinn and Britt’s eyes go wide asf and Santana goes to cuss out Rachel but R stops her, putting a hand on her chest and sitting her back down and does the sweetest smile toward Rachel.
Quinn and Britt be like: oh you messed tf up that’s her murder smile!
Santana gets confused and hurt like wtf why is her gf letting yentl bad mouth her but then sees the murder smile on her gf and sits back folding her arms and smiling evilly.
In the end R gets sent home and Santana drives her taking the rest of the day off too.
Once they get to R’s room santana is like ‘that was so hot’ and decides her knight in shining flannel armour deserves a reward for saving her from the big hairy beast called Rachel Berry and her tall lap dog and lets R do whatever she desires to her😏

A lot of people wondered how you and Santana had such a healthy relationship, but your close friends knew it was because you balanced each other out. She was the chaos, and you were the power that reigned it in. Every time Santana would want to go off on someone, you would be the voice of reason, the voice that talked her down. Now, as you were approaching Valentine’s Day, you and Santana were so wrapped up in each other that nothing could bother either of you. Nothing except for one Rachel Berry.
Mr. Shue begins to write something down on the board, announcing that week's lesson. “Alright guys, I have one word for you.” Brittany raises her hand enthusiastically, and Mr. Shue calls on her when he turns around. “Is it love?” She then turns to her boyfriend and quietly says, “Totally gonna graduate now.”
Mr. Shue and some of the Glee members look at her, confused, before shaking it off and getting back on track. “Valentine’s day is coming up. So, for this week's lesson, I want you guys to pick a partner, because you're going to sing to them what you think is the world's greatest love song. Yeah, find a song that communicates all the things that love means to you. Now, partner up.” You and Santana glance at each other, smiling and already knowing that the other person would be their partner. Finn raises his hand before asking, “Mr. Shue, can I say something?” Mr. Shue waves him up and Santana rolls her eyes at the boy.
“I just wanted to point out that for the first time, an entire week has gone by without any one of us getting slushied.” Everyone looks around for a second in surprise before beginning to clap. Almost everyone stops clapping as Finn continues on with his speech. “I think the fact that I led the football team to a conference championship might have something to do with it. The fact is that I’m the closest thing that this Glee club has to a celebrity right now, and just like a famous athlete, I want to give to a charity. You guys. So I’m setting up a kissing booth. For a dollar a smooch. And donating the proceeds to Glee club, to help us-”
Mercedes rolls her eyes and crosses her arms, interrupting him. “Don’t even act like you tryna help this glee club out, you just wanna kiss a bunch of girls.” Your girlfriend scoffs next to you before piping up, saying, “I’ve kissed Finn, and can I just say? Not worth a buck. I would, however, pay a hundred dollars to jiggle one of his man-boobs.” You sigh exasperatedly when she brings up the fact that she has kissed him, and she grabs your hand in comfort.
“Do you ever get tired of tearing other people down?” Santana pretends to think about it for a second before leaning back. “No, not really.” Finn shrugs his shoulders, sounding smug. “Cause you always just seem to be meddling in other people’s business.” Santana rolls her eyes, looking around the room.
“Oh please, you guys love me. I keep it real, and I’m hilarious.” You nod in agreement, and you see that Quinn and Brittany are nodding as well. “Actually, you're just a bitch,” Lauren states from where she is sitting next to Puck. Everyone ooos and Santana scoffs angrily. You begin to get angry as well, but you don’t show it as obviously on your face.
Rachel stands up from where she is seated, and that’s when you knew that shit was about to go down. “The truth is Santana, you can dish it out but you can’t take it. Okay, maybe you're right, maybe I am destined to play the title role in the Broadway musical version of Willow, but the only job your going to have is working on a pole.”
Everyone looks at the two of them in shock, but Quinn and Brittany watch you carefully. They see your eyes darken in anger and they watch as you clench your hands into fists. Santana doesn’t seem to notice, and she stands up to cuss Rachel out. “Okay, fine. You wanna be like that? ¿Voy a ser stripper? Bueno, todo lo que vas a ser es una vieja bruja de Broadway sin amor-” You grab her waist and pull her down before giving Rachel a sickly sweet smile.
Santana looks at you, confused and hurt that you were being so nice to the girl who said such an offensive thing about her, but then she sees Quinn and Brittany mouthing for her to take a closer look at you. She sees the smile on your face, and she instantly recognizes it as the one that people call your ‘murder smile’. It was the same smile you had on your face right before you broke Karofsky’s nose for throwing a slushie on Santana. The Latina leans back in her chair, folding her arms across her chest and grinning evilly.
You slowly stand up and turn around to face Rachel, who still has a smug and satisfied look on her face. You tilt your head to the side, still smiling at her, before bringing your fist back and punching her straight in the face. Her head flies back and you move to continue hitting her, but Mike and Sam restrain you before you can do any further damage.
Mr. Shue sends you to the principal’s office, and Principal Figgins decides that you need to be sent home and that you are suspended from school for a couple of days. You accept your punishment with no regrets, not at all angry to be getting in trouble for defending your girlfriend.
She decides to take the rest of the day off and drive you home, and you know that you are in for a treat when you see her lustful gaze on you the entire car ride to your house.
---
When you get into your room, you drop your things on the ground. When you turn around, you see your girlfriend stalking towards you before she wraps her arms around your neck. She places a kiss on your lips before saying quietly, “You punching Berry was hot. I think you deserve a reward for being my defender, so I’m going to let you do whatever you want to me.”
You grin in excitement before you push her down onto the bed, kissing her passionately. Your hands explore her body, and soft moans escape her mouth as your bodies fit together perfectly.
''You're so pretty, Santana Lopez.'' Your hand makes its way to clasp her face, staring into her eyes fondly before kissing her hard. Smiling into the kiss, Santana feels her cheeks warm up at the compliment.
''I'm going to fuck you so hard, you won’t be able to walk tomorrow.'' Santana pushed her body up against yours, but you press back, maintaining control and making her fall onto her back. Staring at you in a haze of lust, she watches as you climb on top of her.
Your hands cup her breasts over her top, and you help her strip into her underwear. You kiss down her body, watching her shiver beneath you. Biting her thighs softly as you make your way closer to her dripping center, your hand stroked over her damp underwear. Smirking, you look up at Santana. Your hands make their way to the top of her underwear and you pull them down her thighs.
You begin lightly sucking on her clit, watching her shake with pleasure. Your fingers were playing with her opening, as you moved your tongue in circular motions. Santana's back began to arche up as she moaned loudly into the room, her hands grasping onto your hair pushing your head further between her thighs.
''Fuck, it feels so good. Please don't stop.'' her breath turned into pants as she moaned, moving your head with her hands. Riding your tongue, your fingers getting deeper and deeper inside her with every movement.
You continue this motion until you feel Santana’s body begin twitching, getting ready to climax. You moved away from her, removing your fingers from inside her and watched as she whimpered. Her eyes teared up as she tried to move against you to gain some type of friction.
''Please, let me cum Y/N,'' Her body was still twitching, her clit pulsating. ''Please.'' Santana begged, whining at you. You begin playing with her nipples, twirling them between your fingers as she gasps at the touch.
You wait for a few moments, watching Santana pitifully beg to be touched by you before placing a singular finger inside of her. You move your face so that it is inches away from her clit as your girlfriend moans with pleasure above you.
''You told me that I could do anything to you. Now, I might be nice, and I might let you cum, or I might not.'' there was an evil glint in your eye as you spoke, and a big smirk was plastered on your face.
You move slowly inside of Santana, watching her whimper for more.
''Please, be nice,'' she gasped, biting her lips as your free hand continued to play with her nipples.
''Only because you asked so kindly.'' You pinch her clit between your fingers, pulling a scream from the beautiful girl above you. Her legs were shaking as you inserted another finger inside of her, curling them up and pressing on her G-spot.
You bury your face in between Santana’s legs, licking her clit with your tongue as your fingers move quickly inside of her. Santana’s hands moved back to clasp your hair, riding your face once more. Moaning loudly as her body twitched, Her eyes rolled back and she shook violently.
''Fuck, I'm cumming-'' she moaned loudly into the room.
You continue to push your fingers inside of her, helping her ride out the aftershocks. When she pushes your head away due to overstimulation, you crawl back up her body and kiss her lazily. She moans at the taste of herself, and you roll off of her making her whine.
“Relax, baby. I’m just getting a cloth so that I can clean you up.” She shakes her head and pulls you back down next to her, snuggling into you. You don’t fight against it, knowing this is what your girlfriend needs. “Seriously though, thank you for defending me against Berry. I could have done it myself, but still. It means a lot to me. I love you.”
You hug her closer to your body, and you place a gentle kiss on her head. “I love you too, baby. I’ll always protect you, no matter what.” The two of you cuddle together until you feel yourself drifting off. You know that when you wake up, your beautiful girlfriend will still be there with you, and you can’t help but dream about how much you love her.

What Went Before: The Gang
Tumblr media
This story of mine has been going on for years, mostly over on my WordPress blog. Since I have gained quite a few new followers recently, I understand not everyone is up to date with everything that went before, and sometimes it can be worth knowing a few things. So, every so often, I shall do summary posts on what went before. In this case, on the history and relationships of my deeply loved friend group, sometimes referred to as "The Gang": James, Seth, Daniel, Jill and Sarah. Beware, though, I may say "summary", but this one will probably be quite long. Are you sitting down? Do you have a spare half hour? Here we go!
"The Gang" started with James, Sarah and Dan(iel). They have known each other their whole lives, with James and Sarah being twin siblings and Dan being their cousin.
Tumblr media
Seth and Jill joined them when they started school. As is frequently the case with young kids; it was often the boys together and the girls together at first.
Tumblr media
But as they grew older, more and more often, the five of them played and hung out together.
The boys formed a band, which they called The Hot Wings as a joke, and making music together only strengthened their bond.
Tumblr media
Sarah and Jill were their biggest fans and Dan's parents turned their garage into a rehearsal space for the band.
Jill's crush on James kicked in the moment the hormones did. At that point he was oblivious to it, but as puberty progressed, James started to notice the way Jill was looking at him. While he didn't hold the same feelings for her as she did for him, he did like her and was curious, so when Jill finally mustered up the courage to ask James if maybe they could hang out together sometime, he accepted.
They shared their first kiss and went from there. When they started sleeping together it was huge for Jill. It was huge for James too, but for different reasons which will be divulged by himself later in the story. Jill couldn't wait to tell bestie Sarah all about it. The only problem is... as stated above, Sarah is James' sister. And while she didn't directly say anything to James about it, she couldn't help but give him telling looks or sometimes make suggestive remarks.
So, James got fed up and ended up confronting Jill during a prom night.
Tumblr media
This was actually one of the first "story" posts I ever made. It's... well, let's say, if you go back to this one, you can clearly see my growth...
Breaking up at prom is not a very decent thing to do, to say the least. But teenage boys are not usually known for their decency, and James was no exception.
So, that was that, James and Jill were broken up.
After the first heated emotions of the prom night had died down, Jill and James agreed to stay friends. They were both too attached to "The Gang" and felt they could make it work. And honestly, they seemed to be doing okay.
When Jill and Dan threw a party at the teen club because they both turned 18, The Hot Wings played their music, and from the way Jill was looking at James on stage that night, it was clear she was, in fact, not over him at all...
Tumblr media
Time went on and the dynamics within The Gang were always shifting. Seth and Sarah fell in love...
Tumblr media
...And Seth made their relationship official when he asked her to be his girlfriend on New Year's Eve of 03.
Tumblr media
Seth and Sarah were solid from the get-go.
Things were a little more complicated where James and Jill were concerned... After a school Christmas party, they had a so-called "bonus night"...
Tumblr media
Even though James was honest about his intentions upfront, this night had reignited a spark of hope in Jill's heart.
Six months later they sat for their final exams and were the first group of teens to initiate the fire walking ritual which Rachel, Finn and Sadie adopted 2 years later upon their high school graduation.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jill held on to her little bit of hope until The Gang was about to start university and Sarah and Seth got word of this bonus night, which had remained their little secret up until then. It became evident right there, and then that Jill was hoping something could still be, while James had clearly moved on.
They had a good talk after which it appeared the message was clear, even to Jill: they would never be a couple ever again.
Tumblr media
And then it was uni time. I truly had a bit of a proud parent moment when I saw the five of them with all their stuff on the lawn of their student residence.
Tumblr media
We had come a long way and the friendship was still strong as ever. Little did we know then how much the strength of this friendship would be tested during the uni years.
Because of course life didn't stop there. Jill truly appeared to be over James when she got together with housemate Narai.
Tumblr media
And there was a slightly awkward corridor run-in with James when she left Narai's room one morning, thinking she could cross over to her own room quickly.
Tumblr media
All in all, things seemed to be going well for the gang. Jill appeared to be over James and order was restored.
Maybe now is a good time to bring Dan in, because not much has been said about him yet. That's mainly because Dan is maybe the most steady friend within the group. He likes to keep the peace and is usually the mediator when things get a bit more heated. Dan was the only one to find romance outside of the friend group (Sadie!)
Dan and Jill have a special friendship within The Gang. Being born only a few days apart, they started school at the same time and always celebrated their birthday parties together.
Tumblr media
In May of 06, Eva, James and Sarah's older sister, married Jasper, Jill's cousin, in Monte Vista. All these family connections meant the entire gang got to go on a trip together!
Tumblr media
Both Jill and Dan weren't in the happiest of moods though. Dan was upset because he and Sadie had just broken up and Jill was doubting her relationship with Narai.
Together they decided that getting drunk at the wedding was the best solution.
Tumblr media
Which led to Jill drunkenly telling James she was definitely over him...
Tumblr media
...and a drunken kiss with Dan...
Tumblr media
They both immediately realised this was definitely a big mistake, had a good talk about their friendship and knew they'd never go there again. Jill also realised that her relationship with Narai wasn't going anywhere either though and broke up with him when they got back home.
And that brings us close to the present. In which Sadie started university and stirred up a lot of emotions throughout The Gang, as we have seen. And which showed Jill is actually NOT over James yet... Time will tell how this all unfolds...
If you are curious how Miss Sadie connects into all this, I actually did a "What Went Before" on her a few months back. You can read it here. I should add though that I wrote this right before she started university, so also before she locked eyes with James again and f-ed up my entire storyline. xD

Jinx Can Just Lie
"What is truth, but a survivor's story?" - Silco
I rewatched Arcane again and I kept thinking about if Jinx could just lie about how Silco died. She could say Cait did it, Cait who's not only an enforcer but the daughter of Piltover council member. It wouldn't be a hard sell, since Jayce, a council member killed a chembaron's (Renni) kid, literally a day before. It was an accident I know, but it happened and there were no real repercussions for anyone except for Silco. If Jinx tried to make that narrative happen it would look like another escalation in Piltover's aggression against Zaun and it leader.
But would Jinx want to lie? Does she care about how the others in Silco's gang, the Children of Zaun, will react to Silco's death? Will Jinx want to protect Silco's legacy after he's gone? There's absolutely going to be a power vacuum, and Finn wasn't the only one vying for Silco's seat. On one hand Jinx is plenty self-centered that you could argue that she doesn't care about politics or Zaun's sovereignty, but the position she has occupied within Zaun, with Silco, has always been political. Jinx knew what Silco was doing, who he was doing it with, why he did it, and helped him along the way while displaying little remorse for those in her way. Will she leave it for other people to take over? I want to say no, she must partly believe in what Silco does for her to carry out his jobs, and she's never been insulated from Piltover's brutality, she has always been up close to see it. But it's up to the writers where they want to take it.
The real obstacle to successfully lying is Sevika, who could absolutely figure Jinx's bullshit out in a minute. But is it in her best interest to get rid of Jinx? Jinx already fired the rocket, we're not sure who's dead, even if no one dies (as unlikely as that is), Piltover is coming to crack down, hard. Whatever remains of Piltover's council, the noble family members that will assume the position of their deceased relatives are going to gut the Undercity for every threat, not just Jinx, but every gang and business that could possibly tied to Shimmer and resistance. While we don't know if Sevika will actually take a leadership position to replace Silco, we do know that she believes in Zaun. The best way to avoid chaos is to have a unifying narrative that will rally her people for the big picture. When Piltover comes with its enforcers and hextech, what would you rather say, your oppressors have murdered your leader because he wouldn't agree to an unfair deal, or that a man was accidentally murdered by his daughter during a mental breakdown?
No one knows about the terms of Jayce's deal with Silco, Silco may have written his terms down but Jayce didn't, he verbally listed out what he wanted. If Jayce, assuming he survives, were to say that the terms he asked for were reasonable, why should anyone from the Undercity believe him. He was the councilor that just came down and killed a kid. The only one who knows that and has any real standing in the Undercity is Jinx.
Sevika doesn't like Jinx, and Jinx doesn't like Sevika, but plenty of people throughout history have made due with much worse, and Sevika can't take another loss. When it was just Jayce asking for Jinx to be surrendered, that would have been a monumental loss in their arms race against Piltover. Jinx is one of the few people in the show who can recreate hextech, with less than a handful of notes stolen from Jayce and Viktor's lab. Their shimmer operations have already been hit and to lose another factor that previously secured their positions, would strategically not be worth it. Season 2 is likely an all hand on deck situation, Sevika can't afford to lose more people and resources, when Piltover comes down on all of them. If they don't survive, there won't be any chance for a nation of Zaun to exist.
What about the body, it's full of Jinx's bullets? Easy, they can cremate it before anyone else can see the holes. Jinx can even turn those ashes to tattoo ink to freshen up her old ones and and add new ones.
Tldr: Almost no one wrote anything down in Arcane, so lying would probably be really easy.

I did think I would feel a bit more satisfied when an actor finally confirmed what, I think, most of us knew about Kylo Ren's intended arc in the Sequel Trilogy.
Blah, blah, the redemption arc wasn't supposed to happen. Kylo was supposed to be a villain throughout. Where's that Captain Holt vindication gif when you want it?
I'd agree, personally, that it would have made for a better movie if Kylo had remained the big bad. Adam Driver, I think, is the one who really missed out. I feel like he missed out on his chance to go full out, balls to the wall evil overlord. He'd have killed it, I suspect. And I say that as someone who isn't particularly a fan of the guy.
I do think though I get why they went with a half-assed redemption arc, though. I don't think it had anything to do with the Reylos (the kiss maybe, but I'd like to think they're smart enough to realize that rabid shippers generally don't go for the romantic - die for your love type of ending. At least not if the hot guy is doing the dying...)
I think it's because of Carrie Fisher's death.
They'd said for a while that the third movie was supposed to be Leia's, in the way that TFA was Han's, and TLJ was Luke's. Whether or not this made you optimistic probably depends on how much you liked the fates of those characters in those movies. I didn't hate them, personally.
I'm not going to speculate too hard on what the original story would have been. I certainly can imagine some pretty epic stuff with Princess Leia as the Big Good set against her son as the Big Bad. But...well...when you lose one of your primary actors before you get a chance to actually film anything...well, that limits what you can do.
I suppose that's why I'm willing to give Rise of Skywalker a bit more slack than a lot of folk. They were kind of stuck. Ultra-evil Kylo Ren is a more satisfying story with the set up they had, but it's also a tragedy. For what it's worth, the man does have a mother, who will grieve him if no one else does.
Except...we can't actually film the grieving, can we? We can't film the confrontation between despairing mother and lost son - whatever resolution was likely to happen. We can, at least, use some lost footage to TRY to build the relationship between Leia and Rey that needs to happen for that side of the story, but even then, we'll need Force Ghost Luke to help with the more reactive parts.
And of course, they need to write Leia herself out as gracefully as possible. In a way that doesn't require a lot of new footage and still gives the character a sense of accomplishment. Otherwise, you might as well have just blown her up with Hosnian Prime.
So...half assed redemption arc. With not-exactly-force-ghost Han to help there. I do feel like they could have done a better job with Kylo's part there. You know, made it look like he was at least interested in doing something OTHER than violating a woman's mind and terrorizing her for a good third of the movie. But well. No one's ever completely happy with things.
I don't know. In the end, I think the folks behind the Sequel Trilogy did what they could to give us a final, reasonably satisfying conclusion. There were fuck ups along the way (see: Finn, see: Poe. Though that fuckery started with TLJ, IMO) but, I think if we sat down and watched all nine movies in a row, and got to Rise of Skywalker's closing scene...I think we would end it feeling like we'd reached a workable ending to the Skywalker Saga.
Probably because we'd be too exhausted to notice the plotholes at that point. C'est la vie.

Others have explained their reasoning before, but I'm wondering, why do you think each original sibling never undaggered Finn? With the obv exception of Freya. But would she have undaggered him immediately? 🤔
Great question, thank you for asking. This is just my opinion so if anyone has other ideas feel free to add to this and make it a discussion. (I do not proof read, I can only hope this is legible)
The reasons offered by canon definately contribute to Finn’s siblings keeping him daggered. The two main ones to me (from canon) are that Finn’s morality made him a difficult person to be around and that he hated being a vampire, they were worried about him.
I mean, Klaus was willing to let Elijah believe that he had tossed all his siblings into the ocean where they could never be reached, just because he found Elijah’s moral crusade annoying. Finn hated everything about vampirism and he let them know. He complained about their bloodlust, how easily they gave into their bloodlust, how unnatural they species was — if you were already struggling with what you’d become and you were trying to make the most out of it, this shit is the last thing you need to hear. I always assume this stifling morality of his is what they’re talking about when they call him dull.
Elijah brings up the concern that Finn would be a danger to himself. Honestly, if they were running from Mikael and his siblings could see him consider just giving in and dying every time, that’s scary. And I know what people say, “he had Sage, he was the happiest he had ever been.” Sure. But you can’t expect a depressed person to stop being depressed just because they’re in love, so why would they think that loving Sage would make Finn content being a vampire. (H/C Finn was depressed as a human, vampirism amplified that, being a vampire added to it. Finn struggled to connect to his siblings after Freya. They had probably never seen him struggling like that until they were forced together with volatile emotions. It’s hard to watch people you care about, who you’d always seen as strong, break down).
Once Finn has been daggered for a while, it’s easy to leave him that way. He was hard to be around. I don’t think they ever actually forgot him or that they were purposefully abandoning him, like Finn thought, but I do think he slipped their mind. It was easier without him, they had their own issues to worry about, and vampires don’t feel the passage of time. Also, they didn’t know it was hurting him. This is a big thing to remember. As far as the rest of the Mikaelsons are concerned, a dagger to the heart is a magic pause button. It’s annoying but it was never meant to hurt Finn. Would they still have done it if they knew? That’s a different question that I won’t go into, but it’s worth a thought. These reasons apply to all his siblings, I’ll try not to repeat them.
First thing I consider is that Klaus had just killed the Brotherhood of Five before undaggering his siblings, and so is suffering from the Hunter’s Curse for the first 53 years of Finn being daggered. (I like to think it kicking in is one of the reasons he didn’t undagger Finn)
Klaus is literally obsessed with his family, he probably didn’t like that Finn was off with Sage all the time. Remember this guy kills all his siblings’ lovers, and maybe he hasn’t started that yet or Sage is the exception bc she came before that urge or he can recognise that these two are actually devoted to each other unlike the other lovers he’s killed. I mean, even 900 years later Klaus still hadn’t killed her. I’m sure she’s a survivor (and don’t get me started on the possible relationship dynamics between Sage and the rest of the Mikaelsons), but if Klaus wanted her dead then she probably would be. He’s an original. They’re only beatable in the shows bc you can’t overpower regularly appearing characters or there would be no conflict.
So initially, I think Klaus’ reason is his paranoia and fear of his siblings leaving him, enhanced by the Hunters Curse. I actually like to think that by having one of his siblings daggered and therefore unable to harm or leave him, was probably a great comfort for him during this time. Although that would have lessened when the curse ends, the sentiment continues. Klaus needs to know where his family are, and he needs to keep them safe from Mikael. He’s a little control freak and this is a great way for him to exercise that and keep his wandering brother close by.
My understanding of Elijah is that he takes responsibility for pretty much everything that happens in his family and whilst he may have preferred to undagger Finn, he always prioritises Klaus over the rest of his family (from the guilt over Mikael and Aurora, until the anger at Klaus effectively killing their family for good outweighs that, then it comes back). If Elijah considered daggered!Finn to be a benefit to Klaus whilst under the Hunter’s Curse, he’s absolutely gonna allow it. It’s benefitting Klaus, and it’s ‘not hurting’ Finn. So why wouldn’t he? He’s probably defending the idea, and laying it out as though it’s the most reasonable option.
I think Rebekah was definitely pro-undaggering Finn. But I think she’d find Elijah’s justifications convincing. She’d probably feel the most guilty about it, so she’d try not to think about it. Still, she’s much closer to Klaus and Elijah than her other brothers.
I don’t think Kol minded much. Finn was a good ten years older than him and if they were ever close it would probably be more parental than fraternal, to cope with Mikael and Esther’s poor parenting and the trauma of Finn losing Freya and then struggling to connect to his siblings. They seem to have had a somewhat hostile relationship from at least the Martell period (pretty typical of siblings ngl) but Kol seemed most antagonised by Finn’s betrayal in TVD (indicative of a closer relationship than with Esther). I personally think his loss of magic and lack of control over his thirst probably made him the most affected by Finn’s anti-vampire campaign. Kol seems to like trying to ignore the pain a situation causes him by drowning it out (loss of magic leads to extra bloodlust). I think he was glad not to have to deal with it and if he ever felt bad? Well, it was Klaus that kept him in the box. Not Kol.
+
I think the important thing to consider with Freya is that she’s just as desperate for her family as Klaus is. If she got to them earlier then she would absolutely undagger Finn. He’s her baby brother, he’s the only one who would be able to remember her, and there is no way she’ll be able to convince The Original Vampires that she is their witch-sister-who-‘died’-and-even-if-she-hadn’t-she-would-defo-be-dead-over-one-hundred-years-later without Finn or Esther (or even the threat of Dahlia) there to back up her claims. Freya would undagger him immediately out of both sentiment and practicality. The only reason she wouldn’t undagger him is if she was convinced it would harm him, and his “suicidal tendencies” would not cut it for her. Tbh I think Freya would think that it’s an exaggeration and that she could help fix it. So yeah, if Freya is out then so is Finn.
(A Doylist answer would be that he was invented right before his first appearance and they kept him daggered so he would be pissed at them and put his Cain instincts into play. Also laziness. But that’s boring so Watsonian answers only.)

The ending of Fionna's plot really resonated with me and fit with the position we started from and what we were going through. A young woman who feels lost in the world so she uses escapism to cope with the boredom of her reality. During her adventures in other worlds she learns that she has a say in what her world looks like and that it's worth fighting for. Super, I like it a lot.
However, the ending of Simon's plot absolutely did not appeal to me. It seems really strange. Simon's conflict is very similar to Fionna's (in general their characters are two sides of the same coin but I won't go into that now) except for the "dead wife" aspect, of course. The old guy feels lost in a world that has changed a lot. He wants things to be the way they used to be because in his current state he feels that his life has no meaning and he is of no use to anyone, making many mistakes possibly tragic in the process. So he embarks on a journey through other worlds that shows him that although he feels he could have been a better person ("The Winter King"), that he has hurt many people close to him and it would have been better if he had died ("The Star") and that the decisions he made were completely wrong ("Cheers"), it shows him that although not everything is perfect and that Betty is not coming back, his life has meaning but also that many people have sacrificed for him and he shouldn't let that go because it was all out of love(romantic and platonic). He returns to his world and begins to appreciate life again, seeing that he can change the world for the better if he wants to.
But that's not the story of Simon in Fionna and Cake. Literally by an ending that focuses on "Hey our relationship wasn't the best, it's too bad you didn't do something about it Simon," many episodes make no plot sense. Yes the tones that I presented in my vision of Simon's storyline do appear in the orginals, that's why I gave various episodes as examples, but by focusing on a completely different idea than before, episodes like "Destiny", "The Winter King", "The Star" and even "Jerry"(which I don't like because of the pacing. Yeah cool to see things from Simon and Betty's past but the rest of the episode is a bit boring and could have used that time for something interesting instead of walking around empty) ultimately have no role in Simon's overall story, Fionna's yes, but not Simon's. Why do we only see Finn and Marceline from the original world in one episode???? They, along with Betty, should be the main reason for Simon's final change. I know, Marcellina and Finn had a huge role in og series and distant lands and theoretically should give some space to characters who did not have as much time. HOWEVER, IF WE ARE TALKING ABOUT SIMON AS THIS CHARACTER THEN THESE TWO PPL ARE CRUCIAL TO HIM.
Also, sorry, but my girl, og Betty in the moment when she could talk to Simon one last time would not say "Ey, you should have come with me on the bus many years ago". She would have said that she loved him but that he should understand that her sacrifice was her choice and he shouldn't waste a newly gained chance for something that won't come back. What I like about the concept is that they alluded to the fact that their relationship was not perfect and a story about obsession could come out. But not with what happened in the original series ( and how this series started. The only manifestations of obsessiveness we see in them are only when they have magic objects to themselves. And as we know, every wizard in Adventure Time is closely associated with sadness, anger and madness. AGHHHHHH.
(I finish, I hope you liked my idea of better execution of Simon's plot, if you want I can tell you more about it.)

okay I've watched Fionna and Cake and WOW I enjoyed it a LOT more than I originally thought I would.
I had to sit with the last episode for a while. Trying to decide my feelings on it, you know? My first reaction to how they painted Simon and Betty's relationship was that they did that so the audience could better cope with Simon's choice to move on. Thought about it more and yeah, I was wrong. It just removed the rose-colored glasses. I think the one thing I didn't like was Beth spelling the whole thing out, like yeah I got it. The chose your own adventure allegory worked! I got it. I like the last episode! The part when GolBetty was still protecting Simon when Scarab kept trying to fuck with him got me emotional
Winter King was the biggest tumblrsexyman bait I have EVER seen- selfcest bait and all! Pretty funny, I respect it.
Loved both what Gary and Marshall Lee were doing and what was happening with the main characters. I wasn't sure if I would be too interested in them, but fucking. I got invested in the baking!
BRO THE THEME SONG!?!?! I had only seen the one for the first episode beforehand, so the real intro was a surprise to me! I love it!
Trying to organize my thoughts is hard uuhh just I liked it and will probably rewatch it :]
1. ok the thing about the choose your own adventure allegory isn’t that it’s just that. I thought it was the one weak aspect at first too but in the ending sequence there’s a reveal that totally recontextualizes it
remember the little girl who wanted to be a writer because of ice king’s fionna and cake books? she sketches casper and nova during that sequence. casper and nova isn’t just some random allegory they pulled in — it’s HER BOOK. those are her ocs based off of the stories simon told her about him and betty, and ultimately it was that girl’s portrayal of them, not beth’s explanation, that made him realize what was going on
re: beth, I think it was at least a very interesting dynamic. simon is usually paired with characters either much younger than him or just less worldly than him, and he’s very book/world smart, so I think people tend to forget how immature he can be. ice king was just simon to the extreme after all, not to mention the way simon acts in the earlier episodes (him refusing to run from scarab because he just doesn’t feel like it is a great example). he’s a very smart guy but sometimes he gets so caught up in that that he doesn’t step back to consider anything except surface level logic. pair that with him going slightly mad with worry and I fully understand why beth thought he was shermy doing a bit
simon isn’t childish per se, but there’s a lot of things he doesn’t know because he doesn’t ever really look outside his own perspective, and I like how casper and nova illustrated that. simon has always been this sort of fatherly figure that everyone else admires but nobody else sees the worth in, he’s always trying to shoulder so much for no reason. there’s been this imagery the whole season of simon caring for people younger than him (baby finn, normal finn, fionna, astrid, etc) but he never actually lets himself be cared for. so it makes sense that him being given the grace that a kid would be given and ultimately realizing his wrongdoing after seeing himself through the eyes of a child would be a thing that happens
2. you’re so right about gumlee me too man. the scene where they kissed while pb n marcy were hurtling to their toxic codependent yuri deaths was crazy. holy shit
3. I honestly think there’s a LOT to winter king I have a couple posts worth of analysis on it. I think the idea of simon doing something so wildly unethical is very fascinating I loved watching him spiral into madness. slay
4. the biggest surprise for me I think was cake’s arc? like looking back I totally should’ve seen it coming but it was I think my favorite ongoing plotline from the show. her wishes being at odds with fionna’s presented this really interesting dynamic that finn and jake never had and the way she was a narrative foil to simon was like. ohhhh that was fucking evil of the writers . simon desperately wanting to destroy his mind and cake desperately wanting to keep hers. the way that translates into their dynamic with each other. the terrifying dawning realization that fionna might prefer her non sentient. of course it isn’t true, but it would’ve felt that way, no?
also just fucking. “everybody dies. they should get to die as themselves.” “fionna, I am myself. like this.” what if I spontaneously combusted killing everyone in a 3 mile radius. what then

I understand what your saying, it's just that I have 0 sympathy (let alone empathy) for Homelander's grown ass. Also, Homelander is fictional. Finn from star wars went through hell and he managed to leave.
i understand that from a place that you might not like in all honesty.
have you considered that maybe part of why you feel that way is because... society taught you to feel that way?
finn is a different person from homelander with a different situation from him. yes, different. because finn *at least* had a *catalyst* or epiphany of some kind required to recognize and then *move* on or forward from his situation. homelander *has not*, and to some degree it is doubtful he will get that.
and to be the bearer of bad news yet again, generally? that's not necessarily a *realistic* take on abusive situations and correlates *directly* with survivor's bias.
this is super duper important to remember. just because *such and such could do it*, does not mean *oh well this guy can too*. it just doesn't. that's why the word *survivor* exists.
and as of yet, homelander is not quite a survivor, but he *is* still a victim...
even worse that society perpetually uses survivor's bias *against* victims but that's not okay either. one or two people surviving and getting out of a situation doesn't mean we suddenly stop feeling or caring for victims still stuck in the same situation, could you imagine???
honestly, idk HOW the world manages to function with bullshit like this, but picture this.
two planes going down heading towards the ocean full of people.
survivor's bias creating a lack of empathy is like one plane suddenly fixing their problems and no longer being in trouble, and because *that* plane fixed its issues, the other which mind you is *STILL GOING DOWN AND IN MAJOR TROUBLE* is just expected to *magically* correct course and no longer be in trouble, and if it doesn't well fuck all those people who are about to die--
when WHAT THE FUCK!?!? that's not how life fucking works!!!
and yet this is the bullshit CAPITALISM especially super promotes. because one billionaire is clearly worth far more than a billion poor people and deserves his wealth WAY more than the homeless or hungry for... reasons i guess.
*in capitalism, a majority of people *MUST* FAIL in order for a select few to *super succeed* and benefit, so OF COURSE *survivor's bias* would be heavily promoted to keep the idea popular among those suffering. we all think "well if *I* could be that ONE..." except, statistically, the likelihood of that is slim to fucking nothing! this ideology does not remain exclusive to financial situations, it *translates* to other parts of society and *destroys* healthy thinking*
and to a degree i get it, empathy is not an easy thing to feel. i know some forms of neurodivergence cause difficulty with this. for me, it's this too, except when i'm not the densest motherfucker on the planet, i *can't* turn the setting fucking off, even if i wanted to (and it is hella overloading, overwhelming, and exhausting).
i can't *not* feel it, even for (and especially for well written) fictional characters, even for real people i might not want to admit deserve it, or even if i don't think they deserve it, sometimes *especially* if i don't think they deserve it.
very very very very rarely does it just... 'check out'. it is a genuine problem.
but understanding the human psyche to the fullest extent is *how* we *break* these cycles of abuse, repair the damage, and prevent it from happening further. and that requires *empathy* in every single sense we can possibly bring it forth.
the reason creative people bother creating shit like the boys isn't just to entertain, it's because good artists tend to *see* the problems in society and in turn often want to help *amend* them by teaching lessons with their creative works.
if we as a society want to improve and change and get better in reality, we'd do well to start listening and noticing in fiction.
good fucking GAWD if i have to see more and more of the white tiger situation from humanity--
listen. humans are fucking STUPID.
we hunt white tigers to near extinction. inbreed them to high hell which causes a shit ton of problems while fucking up their genes. AND THEN PROCEED BLAME THEM FOR THE PROBLEMS AND GENES WE FUCKED UP AND CAUSED INSTEAD OF TAKING RESPONSIBILITY FOR OUR OWN ACTIONS--
the gene that makes them white is actually a harmless genetic variant that is the same gene that makes a chicken white. it is with no doubt the HUMANS that fucked up the white tiger gene pool. but let me put this in a different sorta place or perspective.
WE made homelander.
we all played a part, because we're all part of a society, we enabled and allowed him happen, the abuse to occur, and then his abuse to persist, and if we feel *nothing*, truly *nothing* for this THING that SOCIETY created when WE ARE PART OF IT.
we. are. just. as. fucking. GUILTY.
and we should... really take some fucking accountability for that hot mess... least that's how i see it. can't *not* see it.

Finding Santana
New Fic. Multi-chapter. Up on FF.Net Here's chapter 1 - I uploaded all chapters but FF is being slow to post them all. The fic is complete and I have (at least attempted to) posted all 8 chapters.
A/N Mostly AU. I have no idea where it came from and it totally doesn't feel like it's in character for Santana. Just a "what if Santana had a moment of clarity and self-awareness in S2 and decided to examine it?"
Pretty much a departure from my normal stuff.
xoxoxoxoxo
Chapter 1: Friday – February 10th
Santana sat in the choir room watching all the "happy" couples. She was the hottest bitch in the school (well, after Brittany) and she was alone with Valentine's Day right around the corner. She glanced at Brittany and Artie and felt her chest ache. Sam and Quinn were so freaking cute it made her want to vomit. And then there was Puck. And … Zizes? What the hell did that rhino have … Santana's thoughts trailed off.
Why was she such a bitch? Zizes never did anything to her except start seeing Puck … who Santana didn't really want anyway. And didn't Quinn deserve to be happy after all the shit she went through last year? And Brittany … no, she couldn't let herself think about Brittany … but …
Santana sighed. She was tired. It was exhausting keeping up her HBIC reputation. She was tired of being a bitch. She was tired of being angry. She was angry all the time and it was exhausting. She was tired of being sad and lonely and judgmental. She was tired of being SANTANA LOPEZ … she just wanted to be Santana – whoever that was. She was just … tired.
Just then Finn walked in and Santana saw the look he and Quinn exchanged. Something inside her snapped. Oh, hell no. HELL NO! She got up and grabbed Quinn's arm.
"We need to talk."
"Santana, let go of me!"
Santana ignored her protests and dragged Quinn into the hallway.
"What the hell, Santana?"
"No, that's my question. What the HELL are you doing with Finn? Whatever it is … stop. Just stop." Santana looked at the other blonde she used to call her best friend. "Look. We used to be best friends. Then you had a baby with my then boyfriend and I walked away. I was hurt and angry and I know I don't do the whole 'feelings' thing but, yeah, I was hurt and angry at you. Puck's a manwhore, I expected it from him. But you … you were supposed to be my friend, my BEST friend, yanno? I'm over it. I really am. Sammy seems like a nice guy. Why are you trying to screw it up with FINN?" Santana stared at Quinn like she had two heads.
"Dammit, Quinn!" Santana was almost yelling, losing the battle to hold back her anger. "You're better than Finn Hudson. You're better than Lima. Finn is a Lima loser. He's never getting out. You're more than your pretty face. You're damn special. You're smart and you can get out of this hellhole."
She took a deep breath and lowered her voice. "Don't let Finn drag you back here. You're better than a real estate license and a husband who drinks too much and a bunch of snot-nosed brats. You're better than Finn. And, honestly? You deserve more than Finn … the man-child who can't make up his mind if he wants you or Berry or wants to play the field because he's a winning quarterback right now." Santana rolled her eyes.
She shook her head and took a deep breath to stop the anger from spewing forth again. "I don't know if you're thinking about prom queen and how with Finn you're a shoe-in or whatever but … it's not worth it. The women who think about how they won prom queen and were head cheerleader and so popular are the women who peak in high school and all they have is their memories of their 'glory days'. That's not you. In five years you won't care if you won it or not because you're not going to peak in high school, Quinn. Don't be stupid. Finn's not worth it." With that, Santana hugged Quinn fiercely – much to the surprise of the blonde – and whispered, "I love you, Quinn. Don't sell yourself so short." Before walking off down the hall and out of the building.
Santana was tired and it was the kind of tired that a good night's sleep wouldn't fix.
Xoxoxoxoxo
Quinn gaped at the back of the retreating Latina. What had just happened? That looked a lot like Santana but … when the hell did Santana start looking out for other people instead of exploiting their weaknesses? Still, she had to admit, Santana made a lot of sense. Did she really want to be stuck in Lima for the rest of her life? Married to Finn? A knot formed in the pit of her stomach as she realized Santana was right. She was better than Finn. And Sam was a nice guy. She shook her head and went back into the choir room.
She sat down next to Sam and put her head on his shoulder.
"Everything okay?" he asked.
"We'll talk later," she smiled at him and he nodded.
Mr. Schue walked in and clapped his hands. "Okay, time to start planning a set list for Regionals! Suggestions?" He frowned. "Where's Santana?"
"I don't think she was feeling well, Mr. Schue," Quinn answered him. "She was acting a little weird and then she just … left." Quinn could feel Brittany staring at her but didn't look.
"Okay, well, let's hope she feels better soon."
With that discussion turned to possibilities for Regionals. Quinn knew Brittany wanted to know what was going on but, for the life of her, Quinn had no idea.
Xoxoxoxoxo
Santana pulled her Jeep into the garage and sat there for a minute trying to figure out where her head was. She couldn't. There were feelings. Feelings she really didn't want to feel or even think about. She sighed heavily and headed into the house. Her parents were at some conference thing for a month in … somewhere Santana didn't care about. She was on her own. Again. It had been commonplace since she was twelve. That's when they stopped leaving her at her abuela's. She made a box of macaroni and cheese and ate it over the sink, did the dishes, and headed downstairs to her room.
Once there, she changed into a pair of sweats and an over-sized hoodie. Probably one of Brittany's. She checked to make sure her phone was off and dropped it on her nightstand, went into the en suite bathroom and washed her face and took out her contacts. Back in her room, she closed the curtains, grabbed her noise canceling headphones, and turned off the lights. Lying on her back, headphones on, it was almost like sensory deprivation if not for the ambient light filtering through the gauze-like curtains.
She stared at the ceiling forcing herself to think. To feel. She felt the pressure build in her chest until, finally, a sob broke free and she rolled onto her side; her knees folded up to her chest, arms locked around them. She lost the headphones as she rocked herself, sobbing uncontrollably. It may have been minutes or hours but, eventually, the sobs slowed and became sniffles and hiccups. She let go of her knees and stretched her legs out, readjusted the headphones, pulled her comforter over her, and let herself fall asleep.
Xoxoxoxoxo
When Santana woke up she had no idea what time it was. It was dark but not dark dark. She didn't want to turn on her phone to find out the time. She didn't want to get up. She sighed and realized that maybe an old-fashioned alarm clock might not be a bad thing. She rolled back onto her back and forced herself to think more clearly now that she had released some of those pent up emotions.
She needed a break. Away from … everyone. She couldn't afford to skip school for the next few weeks. Slowly, she came up with a plan. It wasn't a particularly good plan but, with a little bit of luck and some help from her teachers, it might work for a little while. She needed to figure out who she was. Who she wanted to be. Instead of being who she pretended to be; who people expected her to be and who she let them think she was. She couldn't do that if everyone was watching her, judging her, waiting for her to fall. She needed time to make sure of herself. She convinced herself this would work. Time away. SANTANA LOPEZ needed to disappear so Santana could figure out who exactly she was and who she wanted to be. With that thought, she closed her eyes and fell into an exhausted, deep, dreamless sleep.

RIGHT AND LIKE
there's huge significant parts of the story that show that the fact HE, specifically, became cursed, was something that changed the course of many events for the better like. We saw that if he was not there to protect and influence Marcy for the better, she would have been a force of destruction, and in that very same universe, someone else (I forget his name rn rip ...) putting the crown on drove him to be a force of destruction. Recapping farmworld, Simon used the crown to prevent the apocalypse at the cost of his own life. When Finn put it on later however, he was a force of destruction. Simon, in our main timeline becoming Ice King and essentially keeping that crown quarantined on his head prevented anyone else from obtaining it and inevitably becoming a force of destruction. Simon, even at his most mentally degraded, was stronger than the curse that anyone else would have fully succumbed to and hurt the world with, because he was a selfless person the ENTIRE time (just sometimes, his choices he thinks are in the best interest of everyone are coming from a more self serving place than he realizes. Which is not like. A sin. That's a pretty normal flaw to have when you like, deeply struggle with social cues and self worth,,,,) The WORST things he ever did as ice king weren't intentionally malicious and destructive, it came out of loneliness and just having some friends dialed his madness back so hard-core ik was a fully functioning person by the AT finale. I would go as far as saying if pb was the one who ever found the crown, she'd be a force of destruction too because of what we saw of her as candy queen running on ik's madness, which was mostly the same as what we know it to be except like. Ik never got to the point of literally trying to murder-suicide pb ,,, and her kingdom in that universe was also more fucked up than like, the ice kingdom, which was just ice king and penguins
It's SOOOOO fucking strange to ultimately frame Simon being worthy of punishment for like, some mildly dumb choices he made early in his relationship (that were newly added in the new series mind you, never something that was part of the backstory before 🤨) and imply that somehow led to him being cursed and it's his fault...??? But we KNOW it's not, because they were already together long enough to be engaged before finding the crown?? Betty wasn't even THERE when he found it? Winter King's story, as far as my speculation goes, suggests he would have absolutely found it with or without her in his life. (And WK fucked up big time but.. in sound mind (as sound as it can be only partially cursed) he chronically people pleases to essentially attone for the skeleton in his closet. I would stand by the speculation it was still better he did what he did than how the world could have ended up if ANYONE ELSE found the crown)
It's stupid!!!!! It makes no goddamn sense no matter how i twist and turn it, he didn't deserve that narrative dragging ALSO LIKE TAKE IT EASY ON HIM he was trying to off himself (by yeeting himself into the void) and then later trying to essentially just mentally off himself by re-cursing his brain and throwing his life in the can, like I think every little thing he ever regrets and hates himself for he served his time ruminating on it ,,

Emmett
Finnegan is amazing.
Thursday and all of yesterday he took really good care of me.
He even cooked.
This morning he decided that we could bump me up to 'light physical activity' and gave me an amazing blow job.
I've showered and then yes, napped but now I'm all his.
He wants to buy a car.
I get that he has very little time and I want to help him so a car it is even though it's not how I prefer to spend my Saturday afternoons.
Besides, I need to get out of this house.
"Thanks for coming, Emmett. Did you and Peter decide about yours?"
"Yeah, it's not worth fixing. There was so much wrong before and this is just... yeah. To the scrap heap."
"I'm sorry. Are you sure you feel up to going?"
Of course.
"Yeah, as long as I don't have to do any driving."
"Absolutely not, not until Monday at the earliest."
"It'll be Monday, I have to go to work."
He just huffs.
I'm going to have to do some figuring and looking and see if I can get myself a new car.
Well, not new, new to me.
Something that runs.
It's a shame to because I had been seriously considering taking that photography course.
I figured we'd be in a house by then and if I don't have to pay the mortgage because it's being rented out, I could sneak two weeks off of work.
Now that's not going to happen.
I took a Tylenol earlier but I can still tell I'm feeling a ton better because I can actually keep my eyes open as we're driving down the street.
I don't know where the nearest BMW dealership is but that doesn't matter because we end up in a Ford lot.
"Are you going to get another one of these?"
He talked about it on the drive to the beach.
"Yeah, unless there's something out there better?"
"Nah, this one is nice. Keep it simple."
Not that this car is simple, it's great but if he knows he likes this one, why drive all over looking around?
He immediately gets accosted by a salesman who's about to become his best friend because Finnegan just points to the rental and says he wants one just like it with all the bells and whistles.
Does it have side curtain airbags?
Yes, yes it does.
What about OnStar? Yes.
Does it come in a hybrid?
I didn't see that one coming but yes, it does.
Not in the model Finn wants though, only in the mid-range.
But apparently the really nice one has eco-boost and that's good enough for him.
We're walking towards the showroom when he asks...
"What color should we get? Stick with black?"
"Black is boring but safe and very presidential. The blue is sweet."
And it is.
It reflects the light and makes the trim pop out.
"Do you have one in stock in blue?" he asks his new bestie.
That the salesman has to check.
Apparently they have a blue hybrid but it doesn't have the top of the line stereo system in it or the premium electronic package with the ipod in the dash.
"That doesn't bother me Emmett, what about you?"
Since my stereo hasn't worked for two years, I'm not one to complain about only having eight speakers and not fourteen.
"I think it'll be fine without but you can always keep the rental another week if you want, I'm sure they can order it. But hey, heated steering wheel, Finnegan. Not just remote start and heated seats, nah, that's not enough. Warm hands."
It's insane.
"Nah, we'll take this one. Credit okay?"
He's literally going to charge a car.
A very expensive hybrid SUV that costs more than half of what my house did.
I would blame the concussion for not hearing him right except it doesn't surprise me that much.
Finn is filling things out and things are getting printed and he takes the paper and slides it towards me.
"You need to sign this one."
"Why?"
"Because it's yours."
I'm stunned but the salesman fills the silence.
"I'll need your license, too."
Now they're both looking at me and I somehow have a pen in my hand.
What?
"What? Mine? Um... Finnegan..."
"Do you want something else?"
No, that is not the issue here.
"You can't buy me a car."
"I beg to differ. Besides, you need one, don't you? And we need something big enough for our beach trips. Please."
I'm looking down and flipping because I'm pretending to read so I don't have to answer.
And then I see the price.
Not half my house, almost as much.
Granted, this is a fine piece of machinery and my house was pretty much a shithole when I bought it. Still.
"It's... Finnegan, do you see the price?"
He just shrugs. Shrugs.
As if it's not ridiculous.
"You need something safe. I don't want you getting hurt again, Emmett."
"I can be safe for a quarter of this money."
Oh, bestie doesn't like that.
"We can get that price down for you."
That's just fueling Finnegan's decision.
"See? It's fine. Emmett, let me do this for you. You need something reliable to bring me lunches and take me to the beach. You deserve it."
I've been giving a lot of thought to moving in with Finnegan and him buying the house and everything that's involved with that and I'm getting used to it.
It doesn't sting quite as much now but this?
Wow, this is something else.
This car is worth more than all of my other cars put together that is not an exaggeration.
I've only ever had two and the first one I got for three grand and the newest one I paid about seven for.
This car is sixty thousand dollars.
Sixty. Thousand. American Dollars.
"Please sign it, Emmett."
He tells the salesman that it would be nice if someone brought it around and that he'll need to leave his rental here over the weekend.
Oh no, they're happy to return it for him.
I guess so, they'd probably lick his shoes and his balls at this point.
"What are you going to drive?"
If they're keeping his rental...
"I ordered the roadster yesterday and they're dropping it off this afternoon. Had to drive it up from D.C."
He orders cars like I ordered pizza.
"The roadster cost more than this, if that makes you feel any better. I got the convertible."
Of course he did.
"Besides, I owe you a birthday present."
A car is not a birthday present.
Is he gonna put a bow on it like those stupid commercials at Christmas?
Mr. Salesman has excused himself.
He wants us to sort this out and it's nice of him to give us some privacy.
"The lower model, the hybrid. I want that one instead."
It's gotta be cheaper and there's been enough blood shed over oil.
"Besides, that's not the right blue," I tell him, looking at the one they just drove up.
It's a lighter blue, not the deep metallic that I like.
"Whatever you wish, Emmett."
The salesman comes back and Finnegan leans back in his chair.
"Make him happy," he says, leaning his head towards me.
"Sell it to him and then swipe my card."
It takes us another half hour but I love the new one so much that I wish I could drive it home.
Finnegan jokes that he may never get another chance and I can tell he loves it too.
It's a big step up from our rental... all the things I loved are the same but now we have ass warmers and leather seats and plenty of bells and whistles for my taste.
"Thanks Finnegan, you didn't have to do this."
"I know but I wanted to and isn't that the best reason?"
Maybe.
"Promise me you'll be careful, please? I don't want you meeting other guys by crashing into them like you did me."
"You hit me."
"Emmett, you're a wreck magnet. Wreckless," he jokes.
"Too soon?"
"Bite me."

This isn't you but I have noticed that fandom does tend to single out Klaine for Lady Music Week, which imo is ridiculous because unlike Finn singing about sapphic women 'just wanting to have fun' 🥴 and Puck singing about banging a teacher, Kurt and Blaine's song was about loving yourself just the way you are and being perfect despite your flaws and critics, which is something that was really fitting for Santana's situation.
I really don't think they were singing about 'how good their relationship was.' Were they happy to be up there singing publicly for each other? Yes, but that performance was still for Santana. It always seemed like they were coming at it from an angle of 'we've been through it but look where we are now, and someday you'll get here too' rather than it being condescending. I don't think they should've 'known better,' I really thought they were being genuine and unlike Finn, were actually trying to help.
Obviously Santana was justified in snapping at them no matter what bc she'd been fucking outed and had every right to be upset, but I also don't think Kurt and Blaine were inherently wrong or offensive for singing for her.
Yeah the thing is about IKAG, it's all bullshit. Really. I think there's a degree of fairness to saying Puck and Finn were two ignorant straight boys but Klaine should have known better than to participate in this farce that ultimately just took even more agency away from Santana. But there are two main problems with singling out Klaine in that way: 1, it cuts Puck and especially Finn slack and for what? Because boys will be boys or some shit? No, they should have also known better, it's unfair to place higher expectations on queer characters and only call them out when theirs was at least a heartfelt song about both their own queer love and the acceptance of Santana into this small McKinley High queer community. Perfect the way she is. They genuinely did try to help whereas Puck was just seducing the adoptive mother of his child/bio mother of his ex and gave no fucks about Santana. And don't get me started on Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, it haunts my dreams.
2, and this is perhaps a more important, critical, and out of universe examination of it: the show doesn't see an issue with Lady Music Week. So in-universe and in the framing of the show, everything the boys, all the boys, are doing that week are good, actually. And obviously we can recognize that Puck is just gross and Finn is, hmm, I'll refrain from labeling his actions that's for the best. We recognize it's all such bullshit and that sours the good intentions of Klaine. And it's a problem, because yes the whole thing is egregious and this was not the way to help Santana but put this exact same scenario of Klaine singing Perfect to her into a different context and it's miles better.
I've said it before and I'll say it again: if we have to out Santana and have a Lady Music Week follow it, a) play songs by queer and/or female artists and b) have the girls perform most of them. In this context I'd allow Klaine to be the exception and still sing Perfect, still have this moment of appreciation for queer love and queer identities. Because in this context it would be just that, like I think the intention was. It could have been poignant and like you, I think even in the original context their performance was primarily for Santana. And if we remove Finn's stupid blackmailing bullshit from the context it could be just that, an offering to a friend and a celebration of queer love. Not “I’m so horny for my teacher” and not “let me mansplain... Sapphic love? whatever the fuck to you”.
Basically TL;DR I think it's fair to have issues with Perfect because of the overall context but I don't think it's fair to be more critical of it than Puck/Finn and the overall concept of Lady Music Week. I agree, it wasn't inherently wrong at all for them to sing to her and to sing that song; the whole concept of Lady Music Week and men singing to Santana while she's being silenced on all levels was wrong. And that's very far from being on Klaine.
(Klaine also come first chronologically when Santana's the most resistant to the whole thing, so that adds another layer of burden and explains her snapping. Wild how they allowed her to express it with Klaine, who genuinely were trying to help her, and then had her cry about and thank Finn. IKAG failed everyone people I keep telling you. There's a single scene that doesn't fill me with visceral rage and it's the one actually written by a queer woman.)
Anyway where was my one-on-one scene with Kurtana? Fuck IKAG so hard man.

Hello firstly I’d just like to say off of your recent fic angry loops is sexy loops and also if you feel up to it would you be willing to write a fic of loops loosing his temper on the ice like fully dropping his gloves and fighting I know you’ve done a couple before where he’s been defending James and the one with greyback but I think it’d be cool to see him loose his head because of what’s been done directly to him and not his team mates? Also I hope you’re taking care of yourself!
Yes, I love this prompt! It’s not a knock-down-drag-out fight, but I hope you enjoy it anyway ❤️ SW credit goes to @lumosinlove!
TW for homophobia, mentioned slur (not explicit), mild violence
They were still muttering behind him, laughing about some inside joke that was almost certainly at his expense. Just keep swimming, he thought as the refs reviewed a call.
“—not about to pussy out,” one of the guys snorted. “What, you think I can’t beat him?”
Remus ground his teeth.
Not two seconds later, something prodded the back of his shoulder. He ignored it. Not worth the penalty. A second poke nearly made him veer off course.
“Can I help you?” Remus asked as he finally turned. His annoyance bled into every word, but the two idiots only grinned. They were enforcers; big guys like Kuny, except without the kindness or intelligence in their eyes.
“How much did you have to pay to get your spot on this team?” one of them taunted, cocking an eyebrow. “Oh, sorry. How much did your boyfriend have to pay?”
“Less than your dad paid me last night,” he deadpanned. The refs would be done soon, and then he could find an excuse to drop the gloves. Deep breaths, his dad would say.
His mother would tell him to knock ‘em dead.
“Hey.” The next push was even harder; the bigger man’s voice was angry, now. Remus smiled to himself. “Look at me when I’m talking to you.”
“Who are you, my mother?” he snorted, though he turned again. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Finn nudge Talker with his elbow.
“I bet she’s real proud of you for sleeping your way to the top.”
“She is, actually.”
A gleam lit in his watery blue eyes, as if he had won something. “So you admit it?”
“What, that my mom’s proud of me and you’re an asshole? It’s not like it’s a secret.”
The shorter man—who had a good three inches on Remus but wasn’t nearly as fast—sneered. “My friend here bet me ten bucks you’d fight.”
“Ten bucks?” Remus widened his eyes. “Wow! You could buy yourself an ice cream with that! Good for you, buddy!”
Mauve colored his cheeks and tree-trunk neck as he skated right into Remus’ personal space. “I’m willing to lose that bet if it means knocking that smug look off your face,” he snarled.
Remus rolled his eyes and started heading back to his team. The review was clearly almost done. It was time to get his head off the schoolyard and into the game. “In your dreams, asshole.”
“Run along back home, you—“
The slur hung in the air like a swarm of bees. Remus stopped cold. Everyone within earshot went still.
Remus sighed, and slowly turned to face them again. “I really wish you didn’t just say that.”
A vicious glimmer crossed the shorter man’s beady eyes. “And what—“
The sickening snap of his nose beneath Remus’ knuckles and the ensuing shriek harmonized beautifully with the pulse pounding in his ears. Blood dripped through thick fingers. “Call me that again,” Remus said calmly, skating toward him despite the anger snarling inside his chest. “Do it.”
The taller man stepped in front of him. “Look, dude—“
“You wanted a fight, didn’t you?” Remus shoved him in the chest. “Ten bucks to get a rise out of the rookie? Your friend called me a slur and got exactly what he deserved for it, so either fight me like you wanted or stay the fuck out of my way.”
Talker’s hand was solid on his shoulder. “Loops—“
“What’s it gonna be?” Remus asked, making unblinking eye contact with the enforcer.
There was a pause, then a shake of the head. “You’re fuckin’ crazy, Lupin. Should’ve stayed on the bench where you belong.”
“Call me another slur and I’ll show you exactly where I belong, you second-rate coward. Now pull your head out of your ass and play the game with some dignity. Enjoy your ten bucks.”
Finn whistled lowly as he rejoined the group; Talker was still holding his shoulder, like he was afraid Remus was going to do something stupid. That was probably for the best. One of the refs raised a brow and blew his whistle. “Number six, two minutes for fighting. Number 14, five minutes for discrimination.”
“What?” The shorter enforcer spluttered around the fresh gauze in his hand. “He broke my fuckin’ nose!”
“Welcome to hockey,” the ref said drily. “Next time, read the rules about offensive language.”
“He played the gay card!”
Remus rounded on him, blood boiling. “I played the ‘get the fuck out of my face and don’t call me a slur’, you—“
“Okay,” James interrupted, skating between them with a palm on Remus’ chest. He lowered his voice, eyes softening in concern. “Two minutes is more than enough, yeah? We need you out here. You can kick his ass once you’re both out of the box.”
Remus clenched his jaw so hard his mouthguard squeaked, but he nodded and headed toward the box after a short pause. He already achieved his goal; those two minutes would be a goddamn victory lap.
Sirius’ proud smile and light shoulder check as he passed wasn’t half-bad, either.

Bestie I’m so tired! I played through todays release twice and it still pisses me off.
Johnny is truly a piece of shit. It’s so crazy how people who were in the villa on day one either have nothing to say or believe his blatant lies! Like, I JUST met him, why would I trust him to tell him anything?? Just plain stupid.
Kat is getting everything she deserves. If she didn’t cling to that man so hard and jump down his throat about every single thing then he wouldn’t be over there pining for me.
Gabi is still annoying to me. I’m never gonna like her. She’s clearly using Dana to stay close to Suresh. Just because I’m mad at him right now doesn’t mean she can have him.
Meera is a know nothing big mouth ass bitch. She’s constantly butting into things that have nothing to do with her and keeps on with her stupid little comments. I really wish I could just punch her in the mouth and get kicked off the show. It would 100% be worth it. I’ve never wanted to fight a game character more.
Alfie is really a little lap dog for his partner. Like, he’s just so happy to have someone that he’s turned into her bitch. That wack ass apology he gave because he couldn’t grow a pair and just say that they wouldn’t vote for me because I’ve done NOTHING to her.
Finn was the only one of the guys to really have my back when it came down to it and that really irritated me. Like, Alfie and Suresh let it be known in Casa that they both have feelings for me but you chose to keep silent while I got lied on?? Very sweet for Finn to cut Johnny’s bullshit AND back me in front of everyone and not just in a one on one. But he has stayed quiet through a lot of other unfair shit that MC has gone through and I don’t like that either.
Lulu is my favorite girl! How can she see the bs but the other girls are questioning me?? I definitely kissed her for the game both times. I’d love to see what’s gonna happen with her character.
*big dramatic sigh* Suresh…I don’t know about him at this point. All my other theories about him are out of the window. The NERVE to kiss Gabi in front of me!! And MARRY Meera like she hasn’t been coming for my head!! It’s complete nonsense. I don’t know why they’ve done this to his character but i hate it. Idk if it’s supposed to make us feel like Finn is the only one that gets us but it’s bullshit. You’re in a relationship with someone for over a year, come onto a dating show FOR them specifically, steady try to win them back and then all of a sudden crickets??? Make it make sense FB!! How can they change this man’s whole personality?! He was always an outspoken go getter and now all of a sudden he’s focusing on someone he has no spark with and kissing an old fling that was the cause of our breakup? BFFR. He was a flirt but he was never heartless. They are ruining him and I hope that Finn publicly saying that he wants me will kick his ass into gear. If not, I’m not sure how this will end. I’ll honestly have no LI and I’ll choose someone out of spite just to ruin their relationship for fucking with me.
This game is a health hazard.
bestie 😭😭😭😭i literally hate all of the bullying this SEASON not just these episodes. Theres really no need to make JoColas or Meera go same damn hard for us but they did. this is the first season with no perfect LI except maybe Lulu, she backed us from the start and she was so nice. re: Suresh...😩😩 here's my theory I really think everything he's doing is very intentional on FB's side. Even Alfie stans, I didn't realize it because I'm so focused on Suresh but look at who they chose for him to kiss, KAT...just like Suresh, Alfie has history with Kat and that kiss would've hurt MC a lot too. FB intentionally hurt us this week with Suresh and Alfie's choices to force Finn on us. Because think about it are you really going to listen to Finn's marriage proposal if you really actually wanted Suresh/Alfie and they proposed too? Nah you wouldn't.

Chapter 6: Confessions
They are gathered in a circle of chairs in an otherwise empty choir room to discuss the choice of mash-up for the glee club competition. Just Kurt and the other guys. Just like usual. Except not really because Kurt has never spent time with any of one these guys, and half of them have thrown him in a dumpster at some point in his life. He cannot believe that Mr. Schuester has forced him to be a part of it. He is so much more comfortable being with the girls - even the mean ones - because at least they don’t look at him like he is some abomination.
Sometimes he cannot believe the universe made him attracted to men. Because most of the time, they are utterly the worst. Still, he can be here. He can do this if he is forced to. He can tolerate them if he must.
“Finn’s going to be late,” Puck says, as he drums on the backwards chair he is sitting on. “Something about going to the nurse’s office. By the way, did you know Mr. Schue’s wife is the nurse now? She’s so fine, I’d totally let her do me.”
Kurt rolls his eyes and bites his tongue as some of the other guys agree.
“What should we do while we wait?” Matt asks.
“What we should do is start discussing our ideas for the competition,” Kurt says. Taking charge comes naturally to him, especially with this league of neanderthals. With Finn not there to guide them, it is a perfect chance for Kurt to express his ideas. Even if being forced into working with the guys is not his first choice, they are still a workable bunch if they tried. But judging by the rancid smell coming off Puck, he is not so sure how well it will work. “I have plenty of ideas for mash ups, and while you boys think you can’t handle some Broadway standards there are plenty of contemporary musicals with plenty of…”
“Yeah, let’s do something a little less fucking gay,” Puck snaps at him. “We’re men. We’re not doing something pussies would do.”
Kurt gives him a sharp look and says nothing. He has a good retort about Hugh Jackman in his back pocket that he could use as a stinging rebuttal, but Puck is not worth the energy. He probably does not even know who Hugh Jackman is.
“I have the perfect idea for a mash-up,” Artie says excitedly. “A combination of Usher’s 'Confessions' with Bon Jovi’s 'It’s My Life.' I already know how it all fits together.”
Kurt sits there numbly as the guys listen to Artie, who has taken charge in less than five minutes. Watching Artie spit out his ideas, with the other guys’ enthusiasm spilling out with every detail, just causes Kurt to sink lower in his chair. So much for the little bit of control he thought he could have.
In theory, Artie is supposed to be the guy he gets along with the most. Thrust into the bottom dregs of the high school society for being different, he and Artie had a commonality between them. Kurt may have been thrown in dumpsters, but Artie had been locked in port-a-poties, left stranded with a broken wheelchair, and even once hoisted up the flagpole by his underwear. He should have had as much issue with the meatheaded jocks as Kurt.
Artie fits into the group of misfits well enough. He is an original member of the glee club. He and Tina, whom Kurt likes pretty well, are best friends. (Or are they dating? It’s hard to tell). Also Mercedes likes him pretty well. Impromptu duets in the choir room often start with Mercedes and Artie joining forces.
Kurt and Artie, however, just do not gel. Artie is able to do something that Kurt cannot, even if he had wanted to, and that is fit in with the other guys. Normally, Kurt doesn’t mind. He finds Artie’s company shallow and his sense of taste… lacking. While he approves of Artie’s decent voice, his choice of favorable music leaves something to be desired. He is fine that he and Artie are not the closest of friends. It doesn’t usually phase him.
But Artie has moved his wheelchair in to be more in the center of the group and, in the process, nearly cuts Kurt out of it. It is a stark reminder that while he and Artie may be outcasts, one of them is able to feign acceptability better than the other. Kurt does not want to fit in with the other guys. He does not need to. But it would be nice, just once, not to feel so isolated.
“With that out of the way we should be talking about more important things,” Artie says.
“Like how Santana Lopez gave me her underwear last period,” Puck says, as if this is some great accomplishment.
Kurt rolls his eyes, hard, as the rest of the boys whoop and whistle. “You know, right now the girls are probably hard at work on their number. I have it on good account that they’ll pull out of the stops for this. As competition they are fierce.”
They pause to stare at him for a moment, then continue on being crude and immature.
“So, last night, I totally banged Santana and Brittany. At the same time,” Puck boasts. “And then, I watched as they banged each other.”
The anger and annoyance Kurt feels whenever Puck is in the room with him starts to boil. Puck is the worst - the utter worst - and that goes beyond the fact that he has been the one to bully him around the most. Everything that comes out of Puck’s mouth is degrading or insulting. Kurt cannot even imagine what terrible home life he must have had to be brought up to be such a raging douche.
“I am so jealous,” Artie says, in awe of Puck. “They are so hot. Especially Brittany. I would so have sex with her.”
“What about Tina?” Mike asks. Kurt notes the sincerity in his tone. Yes, what about Tina, Artie’s supposed girlfriend? “Aren’t you guys together?”
“Of course,” Artie says with a shrug. “But that doesn’t mean I wouldn’t trade up if I could.”
Kurt shakes his head in disgust.
“But Tina’s really beautiful,” Mike points out. “I don’t think that’s trading up at all.”
Kurt shoots Artie and an indignant look. At least someone in this group seems to be decent.
He likes Mike, even if he has barely had any kind of conversation with him. He had been the only one not to make fun of him (besides Finn) during football practices. He is quieter and always doing homework for his classes and every time Kurt comes into the room, Mike has an easy smile for him. It helps that Mike is a good dancer, and that he is moderately attractive. Interest in glee club might be their only connection, but it is nice to know that there is at least one other sensible male among them.
The only problem is that Mike is never the one to stand up for him. Kurt supposes that is not Mike’s place, and he does not begrudge him that. At least being casually ignored is better than getting constant, singular negative attention.
And, if nothing else, Mike complimented his hat earlier in the day. That alone has won Mike more brownie points than Kurt has to spare on the rest of them.
Matt, for the first time, begins to speak. “Well, you know Mercedes…”
“Mercedes is a goddess among women,” Kurt interjects before any of the degrading can start. He has had it with this conversation. “And all of you should be so lucky if she were to grace you with a mere iota of her time.”
Matt looks at him funny. He doesn’t know Matt, not like the others. Matt has barely spoken two words together in front of him, let alone to him. He does not care, no one gets to disparage Mercedes.
“Dude, chill out,” Puck says. “Fat chicks are chicks, too. I’d totally do her. Have you seen her jugs? I just want to put my face in them.”
“You guys are disgusting,” Kurt says under his breath.
“You know who else is smokin’?” Artie asks. “Quinn. Finn’s so lucky to have been the one to knock her up.”
“Hey now,” Puck cuts him off, his voice vicious at the mention. They all stare at him through the sudden mood change. “That’s Finn’s girl. Show some respect.”
Not a moment later, Finn strides into the room. The first thing he notices (as they all do) is how alert he is. He is talking a mile a minute and he is more energetic than Kurt has ever seen him. Finn had been completely out of it not hours ago - that trip to the nurse must have been something. Kurt finds it incredibly compelling.
Apparently, as Finn explains, he has taken Vitamin D, and now he is energetic as ever as he passes out more of it for all of them. Kurt is hesitant - he prefers natural remedies whenever possible but it is Finn who’s suggesting it... And try as he might - he trusts Finn’s judgment - much more than anyone else in that room.
“Alright guys, who’s ready to start the number? Artie’s given us a great number you say? That’s fantastic, we should get started right now,” Finn says, speaking a mile a minute. “And maybe if we get this in the can, we can think of three more to do, or drive to Mexico and help some poor people, we can do anything really.”
Kurt takes a moment to inspect the little pill he has been given. The rest of the guys easily chug it down but Kurt can’t help but think it over. It is just a vitamin, right? What is the worst that can happen? He takes Vitamin C supplements all the time, so this should be fine, right?
He looks to Finn, whose movements are a bit on the erratic side as he begins explaining what he wants everyone to do. “Mike, let’s get started with the choreography. Artie, I thought you said you had the music ready to go? Are we doing this by ear, or do you have some sheet music? Puck, do you think we should wow Mr. Schue by lifting Artie’s wheelchair during this number? I could totally lift all you guys and throw you around.”
Finn comes from behind Kurt and thrusts Kurt out of the chair. For a second, Kurt feels a soft thrill as Finn’s hands grace his side. He wants to swoon. Finn has never really touched him before, maybe the occasional pat on the back or on his helmet while playing football. But the actual contact is like lightning coursing through his veins. He quickly takes the little pill. If it is enough to get Finn to break through his apprehension in touching him, it is enough for Kurt to at least try it.
“Matt, think you can get those mics set up? I think we can do this whole thing if we try hard enough,” Finn continues, pointing as he shouts all his instructions. “And Kurt, what about costumes? You’re good with that stuff?”
Kurt’s eyes grow wide as he realizes that Finn is actually talking to him. Asking him about his ideas on fashion. His heart skips a beat. “I know just what to do,” Kurt says enthusiastically, for the first time being at all excited about the project. “I’m thinking cornrows and exotic bird feathers.”
Everyone stops, the energy quickly deflating from the room as the boys all stare at him in amazement.
“Not… exactly what I was thinking,” Finn says, averting his eyes. “More like leather jackets and jeans.”
The rest of the guys begin to snicker as Kurt scowls. And just like that, he is back to feeling as he usually does around the guys. Annoyed and disgusted.
Fuck them.
He will just have to find a way to defect to the girls’ side.
