When you said that the unluckiest person is most hopeful, it reminded me of Nagito Komaeda. If the universe were combined, do you think he would fair well having Anti Cosmo as his anti fairy?

Funnily enough, I feel like it would be Hajime who would have an anti-fairy companion. I mean, he’s surrounded by extremely skilled people! That would attract bad luck in some way for him. Nagito wouldn’t be good food for anti-fairies. Or Fairies. Or Pixies.

...Honestly, Fairies aren’t quite sure what food he produces. It’s like a weird amalgamation of luck, desire, greed, and all sorts of emotions they can’t disentangle. Like a crockpot gone horribly horribly wrong. Eating any bit of that would make any fairy sick.

Eugh. The hell is wrong with that one.

Another huge contrast I thought of between them and the casts of the Danganronpa games is that with the DR casts I could see certain scenarios where all of them make it out alive. But with the Eden's Garden gang it feels like a murder was bound to happen.

And a big part of that in my mind is because the majority of murders in Danganronpa are due to the characters being manipulated by Monokuma & the Masterminds. Even Korekiyo who didn't even kill for the Necronomicon motive was still manipulated by Team Danganronpa into being a serial killer.

With the first case of Eden's Garden though that isn't the case. The motive didn't even factor into the case other than Eva stealing the taser gun from Desmond's room. Yeah Eva was on a time crunch because of the Traitor Perk but she was already planning to commit murder beforehand due to being worried that someone will kill her. The perk just made her quicker to put her plan into motion.

Honestly if one of the students had tried to say that "the one to blame for Wolfgang and Eva's deaths is Tozu" like what's usually done after executions in Danganronpa I feel like Tozu would have an actual leg to stand on unlike Monokuma.

He didn't start anything, he was merely fanning the flames that the students started.

I agree with this too because even though the rest of the class didn't take Eva seriously, when she was ranting about how "Any of you would've done what I did!" I kind of believed her. They're already so distrusting of one another, and them pretending that everything's okay while holding onto this serious distrust amongst each other is just fueling the Killing Game. If Tozu had left the puzzle for Desmond and it was a bullseye or something, would Desmond had shown anyone as well? If it was some special law puzzle that only Wolfgang could decipher, would he have shared it with the rest of the class?

I truly don't think so. I also noticed they blamed Eva for a lot of Tozu's actions, like when Tozu introduced the motive, Grace said "So we're in this mess because of the math girl? Typical..." because Tozu said he became inspired by Eva's outburst in the pharmacy over the watches.

But it's NOT Eva's fault, she's not the mastermind after all, she's in the same boat as them. But they still put the blame on her instead of being mad at Tozu for spying on all of them. I think the motive itself not factoring into the murder is a good plot point in the story, because you at first think that someone will kill to keep their secret hidden. Or maybe someone has a terrible secret that they don't even want another person knowing about.

I remember hearing that this is the type of Danganronpa where only 2 survivors will make it out, and usually that's not the case but I can definitely see it happening with this group. They're not killing each other or hating each other over the motives the Headmaster gives, it's because of how they treat one another instead T_T

#p:eg #p:eg spoilers #eva tsunaka #project eden's garden #tbh I am of the opinion that if Eva were stuck with the THH group or the SDR group #that she wouldn't have murdered first #Some people say eva's true issue was that she was too insecure #however counterpoint they'd only been there for 5 days and by day 2 she had been shunned #for lying about something once #day 2 and you're already ostracizing people and participating in borderline group think? oof #Byakuya was an asshole the whole time and Hajime “didn't have a talent” but nobody in their groups ostracized them #with the exception of Nagito but his odd behavior wasn't enough for others to exclude him either #I could see Eva thriving in a group that's all about support instead of hypocrisy #she'd be besties with Aoi and Chihiro or Kirigiri #and Nagito would make her feel better about being a mathlete or having multiple talents #Naegi would give her one of those inspiring hope talks and she'd be fixed I swear /s

IT'S OK THO we got it done :3 #neways these tie into some headcanons of mine so i'm gonna share 'em here #mainly i hc them having little ways where they just look out for each other #komaeda is usually the only one who can convince hinata to take a goddamn break without having to forcefully drag him away from his work #bc hinata does NOT take enough breaks. and he does not listen to reason #until there is a komaeda who is tired and can't go to sleep without his human teddy bear :((( can't let him go to bed aloneeee #n i think hinata just. casually feeds komaeda ALL the time #bc he won't eat enough on his own. and if you offer him food he'll be inclined to see it as a nicety and try to reject it #but if you just. Put Food In Front Of His Mouth. he'll eat it #it's kind of a reflex like komaeda doesn't realize he's being fed most of the time #they take care of each other bc they won't take care of themselves otherwise lmao. it's a little dysfunctional but they're trying #i think once they've recovered enough to be able to just enjoy each other's company they get REALLY really giggly #they have a lot of teenage/young adult love stuff to catch up on and since they didn't really have a puppy love phase. they laugh a lot #they'll try to do something tender or sweet but then one of them will start to laugh. and then it's not long before the other breaks #komaeda usually breaks first. bc he's always in awe of just how happy he is. bc he never thought he COULD be this happy #not without hell looming just over the horizon anyways #when hinata breaks first it's bc he's thinking of how much they've both been through and put each other through #and he's just sort of like 'how the fuck did we end up here'#(btw komaeda snorts when he's trying not to laugh. this is just fact trust me)#OH AND I HAVE MANY HEADCANONS ABT THEIR SLEEP STUFFS #as stated hinata runs hot and komaeda runs cold. but ALSO #hinata's a sprawler. komaeda gets Clingy. it works out for them tho #if komaeda doesn't have hinata to hold like a body pillow he'll curl into the tightest little ball. it gives him back pain lmao #oh and yes. they absolutely wake up with their legs incredibly tangled together

the sheer amount of headcanons i produced while i was drawing this is insane

I think the essential part of the perfect nagito characterization for me is making him always sound like. the most sarcastic motherfucker ever. smarmy and high-horsey and passive aggressive af. like regina george levels of insincere flattery. except he is being 100% SINCERE (most of the time) and has NO IDEA how much of what he's saying comes off as him Being A Dick

this only makes it harder for him to make jokes because his sense of humor is so dry already that it kind of just blends into the way he naturally speaks so it just makes him even less comprehensible which is ALSO an essential part of a peak nagito characterization. make this motherfucker inscrutible

#when nagito is the pov I want to see him being “genuine” and completely unable to parse why none of it seems to land w his classmates #and when he isn't (and this is important) I want him to be nigh incomprehensible #I want very few if not all of the characters in the fanfic to just. not understand a lick of what he's saying #with the exception of hajime #in certain circumstances #I really feel like the comedy of unintelligible creature nagito komaeda in fanfic is undertapped (or maybe I haven't looked hard enough)#(if thats the case please send me fic recs I'd love to read them)#danganronpa 2 #nagito komaeda #far be it for me to say “they don't understand you” to a years old fan-favorite character but. they don't understand you nagito komaeda #half joke ofc
