I'm enjoying the morphing of genshiro in my mind from genba being like "hey i'm here for the threesome your husband invited me over for" to "hey the way he treats you kind of sucks, would you like an aquarium date and a shag to help you feel better" when taiya is preoccupied with sakito. Reminds me of the exaid crushes evolution

LOLLLLL yeah there's shades of that in there. I'm waiting with bated breath for The Reveal next week... we still know virtually nothing about WHY Taiya knows Genba or Ishiro, hopefully it's addressed sooner rather than later bc it's kind of a crazy thing to leave until the 30s lol.

But yeah I deffo see Genba being just a leeeetle judgemental of Taiya re: his treatment of ~Chasshiro~ and that evolving into something more. He clearly likes Jou or at least finds him and his smooth brain amusing, but it seems more playful with him, he seems softer with Ishiro in the admittedly few scenes they've had together. As for Ishiro omg just get a new boyfriend this one SUUUUUCKS and if it's the suspicious orange who's probably from space then well how is that any less alien than a zillionaire who's like 20. I know they said Taiya's supposed to be older than that bc Jou's supposed to be the youngest at 20 and then it's Mira > Ishiro (surprising to me, I would have thought he was supposed to be older given his job) > Taiya > Genba >Sakito but Taiya is the most Only Just Left His Teens And Now Thinks He's Grown character ever

Kiriya

First impression: He's a bunch of my favorite tropes condensed in a cool design i was doomed from the start XD

Impression now: He's one of those blorbos who lives rent free in my mind I love him so much. I think he's one of the smartest charactes in Kamen Rider tbh, not in anything specific like Sento or Philip but just as how quickly he connects dots and figures out things. They had to kill him otherwise the series would have ended too quickly XD /j But also he's just a silly guy tee hee ^w^

Favorite moment: every single time he's on screen <3 /hj But if I had to pick some specific, mmmh. Well, I have to go with Gorider bc I have a reputation to mantain, that scene when everyone is accusing Emu and he's the only one defending him is so good; the beach scene because of course we all know the beach scene; and the reveal in Tricks because ough my heart

Idea for a story: okay so. For me current Kiriya can either be OG Kiriya who is a cockroach who refuses to die, or a bugster copy of Kiriya from Chou Super Hero Taisen who deluded himself that he's the real Kiriya (I like playing around with both depending on the situation). But the second one has so much potential for angst ough. I need him and Game Hiro to talk and have Game Hiro make him confront his delusion (since they're both copies of ExAid riders but Hiro accepts that fact while Kiriya doesn't) (and by make him confront I just mean Game Hiro is being his usual brash self he absolutely did not sign up to give Kiriya therapy he's just here to check on his kid). And slightly related but would probably be in a separate continuity (unless I figure out how to connect the two), Kiriya having an identity crisis regarding this (is he the OG Kiriya or is he just a game copy?) and Emu reassuring him that he doesn't care, Kiriya is Kiriya. For the sake of everyone I'm gonna stop here but. I have many thoughts about Kiriya XD

Unpopular opinion: ...I'll be honest, I made myself such a nice bubble in this fandom that I've only seen love for Kiriya so idk what an unpopular opinion would be XD

Favorite relationship: KiriEmu of course it's KiriEmu. I also love when he interacts with Nico I think they should have interacted more :3 Also also the show is a coward for not having Kiriya and Hiro interact more c'mon-

Favorite headcanon: This is super self indulgent lol. I think he's a patological liar, but he's getting better now that he has friends to help him :3

Vice

First impression: Oh I hated him so much it's so funny XD Everytime he broke the fourth wall I was ready to fight him

Favorite moment: idk if it's the favorite moment but I love the last arc of Revice , Vice is so good in that aaa çvç o|-(

Idea for a story: most of my ideas for Revice stories are more about Ikki dealing with the loss of Vice tbh, idk if I have anything Vice centric 🤔 The first part of the Blue Exorcist crossover is technically more Vice centric I guess, with Ikki being knocked out during it and Vice having to protect him. I also have an idea for a one shot not-fic where Ikki and Vice are having an off day so they just spend the whole day merged, I do have some sketches for that somewhere

Unpopular opinion: Liking Vice itself is an unpopular opinion apparenty XD Also idk if it's popular but on ao3 there's a lot of people shipping him and Ikki and that squicks me out :/ They're brothers to me

Favorite relationship: Vice and Ikki of course. Their relationship is so intresting, all the human-demon relationships are so good and unique and it's such a pity this show is not the kind of show to explore this kind of stuff because aaaaa. And the demon sibling dynamics is so good, Vice Kagerou and Lovekov is such a good trio that was underexplored. Also I love the completely made up relationship he and Tsumuri have in my mind (from when the promos for their Outsiders episode came out. I have not watched that episode yet and I am still living in headcanon only land) They're besties your honor

Favorite headcanon: Vice will not allow himself to see Ikki again. He can't deal with having to say goodbye everytime (at the end of the series and during the stage show and after the Desire Royale) and if it keeps happening one day he'll be selfish and keep Ikki for himself and away from their family and he knows Ikki wouldn't want that (even if Ikki wouldn't remember them) :)

Bonkers ass question but rn my answer would probably be Bravesnipe?? But I feel like there’s definitely ones I’m crazier abt out there. Maybe sonotaro…

Unfortunately probably the Miku exaid fic ;-; the concept is fun and cute but with some stuff I get an outline or somethin cookin and then it never sees the light of day again

16. What are your writing strengths?

I think I’m pretty good at detailed descriptions and visuals. I’m much more an artist than a writer, so I’ve spoken before about how I view my stories like written descriptions of story boards, and I absolutely love to try and paint a picture with my words.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

In my actual writing I’m unsure and would love to hear any feedback, but for me it’s actually just GETTINg myself to write. It takes a lot of mental energy to start the task and I can never really make myself do it, it’s only when I’m in a rare and intense mood for writing somethin that I’ve got a REALLY solid idea on. That’s mostly why I’ve got so few fics. I have more ideas, but it’s difficult to get myself to a point with any of them where I’ll actually write any of it out lol

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

Personally I think it’s neat when other people do it, but unless it’s French I probably never will. Even then I’d be so nervous about getting it wrong I’d probably find some kinda work around

19. First fandom you wrote for?

On AO3 it’s King Ohger, but in reality…. Oh boy. Warriors fanfic abt my sonas when I was like 10? Outside of OCs my first canon-aligned fanfic was probably one of the my little pony ones on wattpad. I did mostly original character stuff when I wrote frequently as a tween so I guess I didn’t start with fanfic until like a year or two ago.

20. Favorite fic you’ve written?

I only have a few so I’m proud of them all for different reasons, but I think Sento’s Wandering Mind is one that I’m particularly fond of even tho it didn’t do as well as the others. It’s conceptually something I’ve been trying to put into words for a long time, and it was my first foray into writing anything REMOTELY sexual, which was a huge jump for me that I’m very proud of as a person who previously struggled a lot more with “catholic shame” if I had to put a word to it. It’s kinda a heavy read and isn’t perfect, but the fact that it’s out in the world is important to me and I’m happy with it. Hope you all enjoy!!

So despairing vacation (DV) was a multi fandom roleplay group that was based on danganronpa. So basically a killing game rp. We ended our last iteration like two-ish weeks ago? Around that time with Despairing Vacation 4.

I joined in Despairing Vacation 1.5, which in the timeline it took place in between the first game and second lmao (though it took place after 2 happened in reality). I brought in Ahn because at the time my ass was obsessed with He is Psychometric and I love Ahn like a son. So naturally I chucked him in there and he got scars around his right wrist and more trauma than he had before the game started. I also uhhh fucked up his canon beyond recognition lol. (I’ll probably post his carrd here later—). Out of the three muses I have played in DV, he’s the only survivor. Because of this he can’t wear bracelets anymore lol. He still has his psychometric powers but it comes at a greater cost for him. He’s also the only kdrama character in despairing vacation lol.

For Sento…I was pretty obsessed with Kamen Rider Build and I related hard to Sento in terms of some of his underlying issues so I played him! I think originally I was going to play Gaon devil judge, Peter Stone law and order, Kiriya exaid, or taiga ex aid but I like Sento :). As to why he died: he was pulled for culprit so the people just scrambled to do smth and it was around the time that he returned to his original identity of Takumi. Sento (as Takumi) killed Shadow the Hedgehog by biting his neck off and as a result Sento (takumi) got executed. Sento basically had to pay for Takumi’s crimes (I’ll link his execution here lmao. Maybe). He a ghost now living in an Eyecon that takeru gave him lol. I miss him :(. I Also fucked up his canon by making the amnesia permanent. I’ll probably post the link to his execution. Maybe. Fun fact: I wrote it during the trial jfnsksnsjsnoasmks

As for Nitoh…I was still torn about who to bring; I think this time I was tempted to bring Gaon (again), Shen Wei, Tokatti toqger, Noel lupat…and then I said to Jason ( @/gameraramen) ‘hey wouldn’t it be funny if I brought in Nitoh wizard and tossed him in as victim?’ Because in Despairing Vacation he and Haruto are married and I thought ‘hey wouldn’t it be funny—‘. The decapitation was gale’s (@/galeforcewings (I think that’s gale’s tumblr)) idea because he wanted decap meanwhile the cannibalism was gonna be there because Jason’s character Chidori persona 3 has kamen rider Amazons’ lore in there. The only thing was that Nitoh’s housemate Mike ensemble stars was also picked to be victim so naturally it was a double murder and ah ha. Nitoh’s death was one of the darkest because you may not see it in the crime scene photo. But he doesn’t rlly have much of his body left + his head was on a serving plate. Tbh it was my only chance to be victim so I said ‘fuck it make it dark’ and at first we weren’t sure if the mods would let us (they came in and said ‘make it worse’). The chapter name in the murder server is called ‘women moments (gone wrong)’ because at the time Chidori was ‘dating’ Eve moonlit evilous and :miku: women moments.

Ooh nice to see a fellow Kamen Rider type of person

Personally, out of the three main tokusatsu, I think I watched Kamen Rider more than anything. I did watch all 3 equally at first but my interest went from Ultraman and Super Sentai (from when I was little) to more of Kamen Rider as I grew older.

I haven't watched much from Reiwa since I stopped watching Tokusatsu maybe 3 years ago. But growing up, my parents were into tokusatsu, so I was naturally shown a lot of it, lmaoo. I kinda stopped being open about it after some kid in third grade made fun of me for it 💀

After that, I became self-conscious about it as I grew up, so I told myself I had to stop watching it. My parents still watch it though, and they tell me it's good, but I don't have the courage to start watching again 😭 Lately I wish I didn't do that cause now I feel like I'm missing out on the fun lmao- it was really fun to watch because they tend to have a deeper/darker meaning to them, even if it seems to be for younger audiences at first glance, which I find neat.

I don't really remember much from W, since I watched it way back when I was younger, but I remember the acting was great (I think the actor for Philip was only 15 at that time? I've seen that guy in other J-dramas and his acting is amazing). I remember liking W but I just don't really remember what it was about. Maybe I should revisit it sometime.

I think my favorite was Den-O. I'm pretty sure I've watched all of the heisei ones but I can't recall all of the good ones that I liked. I do remember liking the 3 last Heisei ones which I believe were Ghost, Exaid, and Build, but out of those 3, I think Ghost was the best.

No way you used to be a fan AS WELL. Now I feel a bit embarrassed for recommending stuff. Also Den-o is top tier. Deneb is probably one of my favourite kamen rider characters just for how funny he is.

To be fair I was more of a Power Rangers kid growing up. I started off watching mega force when it was still airing and religiously watched the reruns of older stuff like Dino Thunder, which was my favourite.

I stopped watching after a bit because man are kids RUTHLESS. Some of them made fun of me so I stopped watching for a bit. Luckily I have younger siblings who were watching the show up on it so I became a casual viewer, mostly watching for my siblings and then lying at school the next day.

The reason I got into Toku was actually because of a YouTuber that I was subscribed to. I had 0 clue what kamen rider was and they were praising fourze so I thought ‘I’ve seen jojo part 4, this is practically that with superheroes’ and then proceeded to watch the series. I then moved onto the other series like ooo, build,gaim,W,Den-o,ex-aid and blade.

Funny story about my watch through of blade is that I had no context for where most of the memes in the fanbase came from so I watched Blade to mainly understand everything. I had gotten up to the final arc but had to take a break since mock season was going on. When I finished I remember that I rushed home and decided to watch the last arc, despite being very tired. Yeah big mistake. Who knew a bench could make Astral cry but it did

I’m wondering right now what series to watch now. The smartest decision is to probably catch up to the latest season but I’m probably going to wait until it finishes to binge it. I’m torn on watching a late heisei era show or trying to see more early heisei works. I’ll do what I do best which is spin a wheel and decide what to watch lol.

I dont really have "top" ships, I dont think? Uh I guess we can base it on ships I drew a lot for throughout the years... xicheng (mdzs), emuhiiro (kr exaid), sarumi (k project), wenzhou (shl). there's also da qing/ye zun (guardian); while i haven't drawn them as much as i have the others on this list, it's a very special ship to me ꉂ(ˊᗜˋ*)

hmmmm I guess I like fantasy stuff? My favourite books is Howl's Moving Castle. Recently I finally read The Song of Achilles and Circe! I highly recommend, even though both broke me 😭😭😭

Thank you! I've always been interested in drawing since I was a kid because I have always been into anime and stuff like that? I drew a lot in high school, stopped during uni, and picked it back up seriously sometime around maybe 2016? (yes, i am old lmao) Although we had art classes in grade school, we weren't really taught about the things that would actually make a difference in your art, like the type of paper to use for certain mediums, etc. So when I decided to pick up watercolors as an adult, I had to learn from scratch. Thankfully unlike when I was a kid, there's now an abundance of information on the internet.

I’m not fully sure I understand this question I’m ngl but in terms of dynamics the easiest way to put it is that with emu it’s literally the sweetest of relationships, with parado it’s similar but slightly different bc sometimes he likes causing problems, and kiriya is tiring because he’s annoying and likes causing me problems specifically (but with love)

one does not ever simply "finish" a kamen rider series but we have ONE movie left for mainline exaid movie experiences and 13 episodes of build to watch before we get to it & so here are some thoughts:

S-TIER:

kujou kiriya, how often does a children's show have a lying liar who lies actually do so with motivation in interesting & gay ways (he's gay okay) (you are invited to tell me your thoughts about children's show characters who lie in compelling ways) (he is emu's first boyfriend!! we CRIED OKAY!!!!!!) (he's the BEST ONE!!!!!!)

nico-chan, who single-handedly turned taiga from the absolute worst (the character who nearly made us nope out before kiriya's introduction) into someone interesting bc nico-chan is interesting & they gave her a real character arc (no lamp-sister here!!). i love you toxic gamer girl, please don't say a slur on stream bc i would be forced to defend you. nico-chan mainline series when!!!!!!!

emu 🥰 the plot pacing of exaid was sometimes bizarre to me, but as a whole it was VERY effective at building up this medical intern (who is like. a baby) in complexity and giving him the omega harem he deserves. wait what. no you know what i stand behind it. he may not have been a native to lying on the ground like kamen rider ghost but he did so with aplomb.

A-TIER:

parad!!!!! i need to find some gamer lougewear so i can casual cosplay him. he's focused and deranged in exactly the ways i love in my BL leads (this is a bl). occasionally his baby face was simply too baby for words. that he's a-tier shows you just how high a bar s-tier is honestly.

graphite, who frankly is here bc the face actor is. so beautiful and committed. and the suit they designed was the best in the show (a high bar!!!)

tomato dan, excuse me, dan kuroto god. early on i made a joke about his face looking like a melty tomato and it turned out the performance of being a melty tomato was in fact what he was going for? the physicality of the suit actor was also INCREDIBLE & matched the energy of the face actor's performance so well. like by the end i loved dan simply bc he was so fun to watch

poppy pipopapo, the PERFECT character design, who eventually gets to become a REAL CHARACTER even. i love you poppy. i don't care about your nursona but i love you.

B-TIER:

taiga is here bc after the nico introduction i really liked the two of them together so much. the actor's performance gives off such "tired 30-year old" energy that we definitely made some inappropiate jokes (the actor is not yet thirty NOW and the show was made 8 years ago).

lovelica, so fun to watch & sometimes voiced by one of my faves!

the chicken-heads. i don't know what they're called. you know, the basic bitch grunts that get in the way, and, in this one, have roast chicken heads? my favorites were either lovelica's maids or the ones doing half-hearted dancing in the woods.

C-TIER:

hiiro. look you are very beautiful but they really could have gone harder on your guilt storyline instead of just having it be a dead-girlfriend one. they tried but i would have liked it even more explicit.

papadan. at least this bad dad was just as deranged as his son, and the plot wasn't "bad dad" so much as "this guy has too much power."

FORGOT HE EXISTED WHENEVER HE WASN'T ON SCREEN:

Okay I did get that in the middle you see.

Like i personally liked this arc of neon. Cause I said right in the middle I was losing interest in her because well.... She was kinda kept on the side after her zombie fight arc, which was honestly so cool and i like it when they make her more into the plot.

I lost interest in her a bit with the episode of Ace getting eliminated, like not because of just her, like all three except Ace simply because of the way it was handed, i know you wanted to show how important Ace is and how much they still need him to save people, i just think it could have been more show and tell. You can make a character look good without nerfing the others.

Which geats does a lot and it pisses me off. Ep 08 was not the only time Keiwa had the will to fight, he had the same arc like three times now.

It's like every episode we see him do some good stuff, the next episode he has to be on the ground begging Ace to save him. And I get he's the comic relief and everything but it's not even halfway yet, and they have played with this thrice already, i am pretty sure a corruption arc is coming for Keiwa but still, a little more consistency please. You can't keep having Ace giving him pep talks every 2-3 episodes.

Then it comes to Michinaga, who was my orginal favourite character, (god know I love my angry hurt boys) i liked his goal and anger and his reasoning for it, even if I did clown him because bro you could wish to have your ex bf back but you want to kill others. And the whole mini arc of his team up with Keiwa where it was like, "you are doing the same thing to Keiwa that happened to Toru and this time you would be the reason".

And right now... I really want to get in his head.... Because him teaming up with beroba after seeing the jyamato sanctuary makes no sense to me, like your friends ID core is probably part of it. Toru was most likely killed by a jyamato(because of the players can't hurt players rule), so it would make sense for him to be more against the entire DGP cause the fuck you mean toru dying was entertaining for these people? But he still chooses to focus on Ace (tunnel vision much) and i am fine with his anger issues, but I also assumed he was smarter but now it doesn't fit so I am getting more annoyed.

Most of all I am really hoping it is some sort of Collab plan he's doing or the jyamatofication of his body is fucking with his ability to make smarter decisions.... Cause... Get it together man. (I expected something better and it doesn't seem like I am getting it but there's also more to come so i am trying to be patient but it's also very frustrating because what happened to your original morals.... Why is your kamen rider ending mission even important to you anymore?)

As for Ace, honestly his somewhat genuine trickster feels kinda gone since punkjack death and DGP gameshow reveal. But at least we can see that he's thinking and working so over all I don't have any complaints for his arc. The emotions are good and his story seems a lot steadier than the others.

Like I guess in a way him and neon are doing the best character arc wise for me.

Ace, because they seem to be putting work on him with those shots of him staring into the distance with his brain working and calculating.

And Neon because mostly she seems very less in the episodes but every time she is on it works. And there isn't too much. Her growth is more gradual and it feels natural.

Keiwa is either very high, he's on top of the game or utterly useless and it was funny at first but now I am beginning to get annoyed.

Michinaga isn't going the way I thought he would at all and while I like the new team line up for the jyamato team, i don't exactly love it right now.

Those are my complaints. I know most of these have a chance of getting resolved by the end ..... But if it's going anything like exaid..... I don't it will get better. Resolved? Sure..better? I don't know.....

Basically I do not like Yuya, i have given him more than one chance to appeal his stories for me but i have been disappointed every time and I fear that geats will follow and I really don't want it to follow because i love these characters but he will fuck it up somehow.

There's too many characters that seem important to the plot and I am unfortunately a believer of too many cooks spoil the food. Except Yuya can't handle aa lot of characters very well. He barely does good with a few...

Sorry if you actually like some of the parts I don't like.... But they just don't seem to be working for me.

Yeah, so I was thinking with the red string of faith/love being created between Michinaga and Ace with their canonical stuff doesn't seem to work for me unless I add extra feelings into Ace because well he's Ace.

And he isn't that emotionally connected to Michinaga and I don't think he treats that rivalry seriously either, more like he's over it.

Like he will feel a normal amount of guilt if he directly killed Michinaga and maybe even is fine with the feelings that came to be due to a misunderstanding (i thoroughly believe Ace has not killed someone who was actually a good person and hasn't attempted to kill him first, death by elimination doesn't count).

So I don't think Ace's feelings for Michinaga could create a new red string of love if we follow that path.

I do see it happening from Michinaga's end though, like you did specify- Him chasing behind Ace with that Red string.

After all there's a thin line between love and hate. So it's a possibility for Michinaga to fall for Ace before Ace would even think about that.

So a pre-existing red string of fait is the only string I can think of between them. One that binds them together irrespective of their current feelings and history and them having to work through it.

I do think Ace could form a bond with Neon and Keiwa a lot more easier...

Neon being the first from DGP games we watched where he shared about his mother and the way Keiwa seems to be sticking with him and trusting him despite their history.

But I think it would have been the best with Win... Maybe faster even, cause there was some real good chemistry even in the few moments they interacted (well made me have many thoughts at least.)

Sento dose know his limits and usually  get People to help .Mainly because Despite being Coordinated on Stage he is Somewhat Clumsy  in reality . Sento says that it took Years of Practice trigger “ idol  mode”.Some people call him a mad scientist when he’s super motivated easily Excitable

Sento Names comes from Sento Kiryu from Kamen Build and Emu Hojo from Kamen Rider Exaid.

Sento Birthday is The Date KR Build ended its run.

The Reason why Sento is his Name is because the Main form of KR Build is RabbitTank. Sento’s Name also translates into “TankRabbit“ which is why his Last Name Changed .

Some of his Personality is based on Banjo Ryuga the Secondary Rider in Build , like suppressed need to throw hands at stuff  that offends him.He sometimes is seen with Emma , kickBoxing to suppress This urge.

Sento has Nothing against Gregory besides the fact that For some reason everytime he or Peko is around something Breaks , Blows up in his  face or malfunction.

 It’s like a Safety precaution since it’s a Running Gag for Sento To Get launch by something hes working on .

Sento Has Tested this with Multiple Students for some reason Machines only do this when around Gregory or Peko . They work Fine When Around Emma and Most other Student . 

He Did get some weird finding with Tyler for some reasons every machine stopped except Sewing Machines but he hasn’t gotten to Facilette yet.

Sento, Says he help out his Mother with Cars before he was Scouted to be an idol.

Sento has accidentally Wacked  every Student in the dorm With his ears about twice..maybe more for Greg and Peko cause he’s Been conveniently launched into them on multiple occasions. His ears are like pillows but anyone who’s had a pillow fight knows that still hurts . He forgets to Tie them up.

Why a Scence where Greg and Peko are Repeatedly being Bopped by Sento’s Ears cause He Dosent noticed them is Funny to me I don’t know.

Sento says Gregory Has been K’O by his Ears And “I dragged him all the way back to his room and Got him an Ice pack. He’s way lighter than I thought , I also Apologized profusely.“  - Sento is just Stronger than he thought .

This more reference to Mega Lopunny’s Ability of Scrappy as well an entry that says Mega Lopunny uses its ears like Whip.

the Entry reads - It swings its ears like whips and strikes its enemies with them. It has an intensely combative disposition.

 Peko ate part of a Carrot cake his Mother made him , He resisted the  urge to throw hand . Masaki  and Gregory dragged him away and also took  the Cake from Peko much to her protest. ( Masaki has Psychic powers And you don’t sorry Peko )

Some Devoted Peko fan Dont exactly like Charmix, Say their Rude, Cold  and Spoiled Brats. Meanwhile Charmix fan Say that these  Peko fans are taking their reactions out of context when Peko was in the wrong .

Daigo says he has the opposite problem to Peko , Sento has so much energy he can’t Relax he has to be forced to sit down and relax .

Sento apparently uses Melatonin gummies to fall asleep, Peko has also accidentally eaten them Thinking they were Normal gummies , But they were just one a plate how was She Susposed to know.

Touching his Ears too roughly Gets you kicked in the Face.

Sento can  tell somethings off with a Machine From looking at it .

 

He expressed specific concern about something being off with Ms. Galea Mechanical Leg  and microphone but has just Brushed it off as “ I’m Probably thinking too hard, I’m sure she’s notice by now .”

ex-aid and 01 being written by the same guy is like, ok so gai’s redemption was probably trying to do the same with kuroto’s redemption, they’re both villains who suck and wind up joining the main gang and the main gang still doesn’t like them. but kuroto’s was done well because he’s still a selfish bastard who’s just with the gang to further his own ends and he keeps trying to undermine them and hijack their shit, he hasn’t changed as a person. meanwhile in 01 the show wants you to think gai has suddenly completely changed and renounced his evil ways because we got one episode of flashbacks of him having every villain sadboy backstory trope in the book, and the show wants you to sympathize with him!! you’re supposed to feel bad for him!! and having the rest of the gang still be mad at and distrust him is pale compensation compared to every shot of that stupid fucking sony product placement robot dog of his i have to see. i don’t see how takahashi could have thought those were remotely the same thing. also i haven’t seen all of exaid but gai feels so much more like, real irl despicable and less cartoonish than kuroto, so it’s even harder to buy his sudden change of heart
