Okay I'm tempting something : portrait of an asoiaf/F&B character + a memorable character from my childhood that makes me think of that asoiaf/F&B character. Here, we have fave Daenerys Targaryen and fave Ewilan Gil' Sayan (also Camille Duciel), from the French series Ewilan's Quest (by author Pierre Bottero). They're similar...well first appearence-wise Ewilan can be said to be very Targaryen (or very fantasy-protag, honestly), with blonde hair and beautiful purple eyes. They're both young prodigies and the actual hope of their world, despite the presence of male alternatives (and they have a complicated relation to their home, both having grown up away from it, knowingly or not). Like Dany, Ewilan is one of my favorite fantasy characters.

- Girl with shitty adopted parents discovers she has magic and comes from another world - okay 80% of fantasy for kids and teens used to be like that - and proceeds to save the day with her band of fantastic friends and mentors despite her older brother being the one supposed to fix things back home - Dany/Rhaegar (?) except Matthieu, Ewilan's big bro is nowhere near as charismatic as Rhaegar. The writing really is a big part of the charm.

I loved that book series (from a French author!) and for a few years now they have started to be made into beautiful comics :D Last week I discovered in a library The Other from the same author was also be made in comic and having never read it, I tried to see.... Well now, I'm dying to read the books too XD But yeah I thought back of Ewilan and that scene in particular, with the Lady.

what draws you towards your hyperfixation? what is interesting about it? 

.........I have absolutely no friggin’ idea. Because honestly this show is far from being a masterpiece, it has a lot of defaults, and it’s not even the kind of show I’m interested in usually. But somehow, I love it. I think it’s the characters, it’s often what draws me into a fandom. Even if the show is silly and weird and often quite ridiculous, the characters are endearing and interesting and have such a huge potential for stories and relationships. The fact that there is a MASSIVE amount of very diverse content in this franchise is clearly fueling my hyperfixation because I always have new things to discover about my favourite characters, and I can see them deal with many different kinds of situations.

do you have any headcanons (lgbt, race, neuro, etc) that are important to you? 

I’ve answered this one before, but it was in French, so imma just translate it to English.

For a start, I think Ellana has some very big trans vibes. I mean: first name change, grew up with a people who wasn’t her own and where she felt she didn’t belong, discovered people “like her” and adapted to that society which gave her a sense of belonging? Honestly I can’t give a precise headcanon, the closest thing to what I have in mind would be a trans woman assigned non-binary at birth, but that’s just weird. But to me Ellana’s childhood is a big metaphor for trans identity.

I have no arguments to support this theory, but I like the idea of Salim being a trans man.

ALSO JILANO AND SAYANEL ARE MARRIED AND NO ONE WILL CHANGE MY MIND ON THAT.

In fact I think pretty much everyone in Team Gwendalavir is queer to a certain level, except Ewilan and maybe Edwin, so they’re both the token allocishet friends who are confused but supportive.

As for neurodivergence, I’m not sure... I think Artis could be autistic (hates crowds, doesn’t deal well with noise, has communication issues...), but I don’t really know. I also kind of like the idea of Ellana being neurodivergent, but I have zero arguments for this theory.

Also, everyone agrees that Ellana and Edwin are NOT WHITE, right? It’s not even a headcanon, it’s canon. But they tend to get whitewashed all the time in fanarts (I plead guilty unfortunately)
