Loved your hc's on the residents evil boys! Since your requests are open could you perhaps make headcanons on Wesker's flirting game? I bet he's good at it y'know to get people on his side but when he ACTUALLY likes someone? Man got no game. He's probably going full autism mode and tells about his special interest and shit <- I see it but that's my opinion though LOL
Oooo, we have different takes here actually. I love yours, and I can see it! But, here's my take!
Wesker Headcanons: Flirting Edition!
Tumblr media
Gif is by @digitalangel777 btw!!!
Tumblr media
Okay so first of all, I don’t really think Wesker flirts to be honest. At least, not intentionally. This is mostly because I don’t see Wesker as the type of guy to develop, nor clock his attraction to someone immediately. It takes time!
Wesker flirting is him remembering your coffee order and leaving it on your desk. It’s him not completely tearing you to shreds when you make an obvious mistake. It’s him praising your work when you actually do a good job, beyond just “Well done.” Wesker flirting is him being able to speak with you casually about something, rather than being so damn professional and wound up all the time, ya feel me?
He doesn’t even realize he’s doing it until it's too late. Until he’s in his car and Head Over Heels by Tears for Fears comes on and he catches himself daydreaming about you. You could the quick, sharp “Fuck!” He let out from the next car over.
I think after that he’s kinda in cringefail mode ngl. Like, he’s trying to avoid you, but he’s integrated himself so much into your life and you so much into his that it is neigh on impossible, and he can’t stop giving you special treatment now, cause that makes you sad and he genuinely can’t stand when you get that glossy, upset look in your eyes
He’s not flustered. I think he’s a little too well composed for that. But he did, in fact, catch himself rambling to you for like, 45 minutes about the different strains of Flu after you told him you had just gotten your flu shot. And while you were a good sport and humored him the entire time, that was genuinely a mortifying experience for him. Had him staring at himself in the bathroom mirror at the RPD like:
Tumblr media
“Get It Together Albert.”
He starts to actively look into you. Not necessarily in a “I have your official government docs” kinda way, but more in a “I’ve spoken to your friends and now know your favorite type of candy. Here, I got some for you.” Kind of way. More of a “You said you liked this movie. I watched it so we can talk about it. I liked Neo.” type of way, ya know? He’s going beyond the bare minimum office cordiality to actually try to connect
This is incredibly hard for him- you have to understand. The only other person he’s connected with on a human level bonded with him over unethical experiments and medical malpractice- give him time
He flirts by building a snowman with you. (This is my shameless self promo)
Oh, he also flirts by sharing his snacks. I think Wesker is genuinely really possessive of food for lack of a better word. I headcanon that he probably faced some food insecurity growing up (the boys home withholding food as punishment type deal), so he’s not big on sharing. Typically. For you though? Of course you can have the other half of his Twix. Here, don’t tell the others he hides suckers in his desk, but take one. Do you want to try this new weird chip flavor he found with him?
This is him taking care of you btw. Look at him, he’s such a good provider. He’d be so good at taking care of any potential offspring you have. Surely you want him, he is displaying so many Desirable Traits ™
This is how humans think, right? Like this is how it works? Of course it is, he’s an expert in human psychology.
I think he eventually gets tired of beating around the bush honestly. And when that happens, a scene not unlike this one plays out
Aaaanyway- in conclusion, I think that Wesker is really good at flirting when the job calls for it and he needs to get people on his side. In that sense, he’s very good at it. But, outside of that context, he sucks at flirting. Mostly because it feels a lot like manipulation. So he doesn’t actually “flirt” to show his attraction. But there will be signs. (It’s the cup of coffee exactly the way you  like it on your desk btw. That’s the sign)

Trans men do not have male privilege because you cannot separate their trans identity from their male identity.
People love to say, “but they’re men and men are privileged!” as if you can just. Pretend they’re not also trans. Or they say that it doesn’t matter that they’re trans if they pass because people will just see them as men.
Just. Think it through. Think about what happens when the experiences of trans and cis men are compared at any systemic level.
1. A cis woman says that a cis man sexually assaulted her. The woman is told she is probably dramatic by the cops and the cis man isn’t impacted because all his friends are misogynists. People talk about how boys will be boys and how it wasn’t his fault, women wouldn’t understand men’s’ sex drives.
2. A cis woman outs a trans man and says he sexually assaulted her. The trans man is arrested and jailed (keeping in mind you can be arrested with no proof, only reasonable suspicion—such as an allegation) by cops who openly watch him pee because they wanted to get a look at a pussy on a man. He gets out and his friends hear through the grapevine that he’s trans. They laugh at and grope him the next time they see him and they ostracise him. People talk about how testosterone is such an evil chemical and how the trans guy is dangerous because he has a “female brain running on toxic male hormones.”
For another comparison—
1. A cis man goes in for a routine sexual health checkup—a prostate exam. It is quick, though awkward and uncomfortable. He later begins to feel ill. He sees a doctor who takes his symptoms seriously and treats him appropriately.
2. A trans man goes in for a routine sexual health checkup—a pap smear. He is stared at in the waiting room. The nurse calls “Ms.__” and is visibly confused when he stands up. The doctor isn’t educated on trans bodies and doesn’t use enough lube (or simply doesn’t care to) and it hurts. The doctor asks invasive questions about bottom growth and ignores the guys’ preferred terminology for his parts and his identity. The guy files an insurance claim that is denied because his legal gender is M. He has to either pay or try to deal with the company. He begins to feel ill. He sees a doctor who sees that he’s trans in his chart or spots the testosterone prescription or an old or legal name. The doctor tells him it’s probably the T without doing a proper exam and that T is dangerous for “females” and he should consider stopping.
Male privilege is systemic. It’s not just who the waiter looks at first when they take a dinner order. It’s men being protected by the system by other men in power. Trans men do not have that protection. The second a transphobe thinks a criminal might have been a trans man they start talking about how it was because his mind couldn’t handle the testosterone. (Remember when there was a rumour that a school shooter was transmasc?). They worry about him “tainting” cis women. Because he is trans, it means that people don’t even see him as man enough to be protected by the system. It is because he is a trans man and trans manhood is not respected as Real by the cistem.
Part of male privilege is having your voice believed and your autonomy respected. But trans men are told their pain isn’t real, that they’re being dramatic, that it’s their period or the T. Trans men are at risk for sexual abuse and fetishisation by cis people who might use a medical exam as an excuse to hurt or assault them. Trans men are not seen as a possible type of man, so insurance systems auto-deny sexual healthcare for trans men because “men can’t have that issue.” Part of male privilege is having your voice centred, and yet many conversations about abortion and access to birth control actively exclude trans men, because trans men are held personally accountable for the pregnancy, even when it’s rape. Cis men don’t experience anything like that.
And sure! The situations I laid out above don’t describe ALL trans men. But they also don’t describe ALL cis men or ALL cis women. The difference between cis men and trans men is that trans men, along with other gender minorities and cis women, are specifically targeted by oppressive patriarchal systems by virtue of both their trans and male identities.
It breaks my heart to see people tell trans men to ‘take accountability’ for their privilege when I hear all the time about trans men who are in jail for killing the person who was raping them, about trans men who were abused by police, about trans men who were tortured and murdered.

I don’t think this is a particularly evil confession.
I’m all for abolishing the dsmp fandom mindset about A Lot™️ of things.
But I think we should bring back telling off people who post mcyt stuff under #minecraft.
Too many new tumblr users (like joined 2022 onwards) have little to no respect for mineblr.
You can’t scroll thru the mc tag without seeing posts about some guys fave YouTubers.
I know the argument everyone always has is “but it’s MINECRAFT YouTube so I can tag it as minecraft” but my counter argument is “it’s minecraft YouTube not minecraft.”
You don’t see unrelated posts of markiplier in the fnaf tab. You don’t see unus annus clips tagged with #fnaf. Only fnaf posts that have/mention markiplier.*
I just think people should be more considerate with tagging. In 2020/21 we got the dsmp fans out of the mc tag cause every other post was dsmp related. I think we as a community can agree to stop posting mcyt content in the minecraft tag and let people who just want to talk about the block game do that in peace.
*disclaimer: I’m not a fnaf fan, I just picked a popular YouTuber to go with a popular game as an example. I cannot confirm or deny the state of either tags on tumblr.

Elaborating on the “you have to love something to deconstruct it right” with Invincible; Robert Kirkman LOVES superhero comics and manga that hits similar vibes to superhero comics like Dragon Ball and such. He was a longtime proud member of comic book fandom before he started writing professionally. And that’s a big part of why Invincible is so good - both the show and the comic, with the show basically just being Kirkman remaking the comic (one of his earliest works that put him on the map) with the skill and experience he’s gained since. Kirkman knew all the classic superhero plots and lore and tropes and such, and he used that knowledge to craft a story built around toying with those things.
He didn’t do it out of spite. He did it as a genuine effort to write a good superhero story that essentially took the core ideals of the genre and explored how they would hold up when faced with a more mature and morally complex setting, as well as taking the various cliches of superheroes to their logical conclusions. And all the while using this to explore themes of how people respond to gaining power, what it really takes to make a positive difference in the world, and the harsh realities of growing up. And the ultimate conclusion it draws is that, yes, real life is more messy and complicated than old school comics and you can’t just punch all the world’s problems away, but even so there is good and evil and people who do the right thing for its own sake will ALWAYS win out in the end over those who don’t.
That’s even the meaning of the title and the main character’s name. As Nolan says in the first issue/episode, Mark begins the series thinking he’s “invincible” in a very shallow, materialist way. By the end, he learns the hard way that he absolutely isn’t… but the ideals that he represents ARE and are the thing that really stops the villains.
The violence was a key part of it all. Aside from just allowing for awesome fight scenes and setting the comic apart from Marvel and DC (since it really is, when you get down to it, Kirkman writing the kind of stuff he’d write at those companies if not for their censorship and editorial restrictions), it also ties into the themes of exploring and dissecting superhero tropes. In real life, violence isn’t like the stuff you see in Silver Age comics, with Superman and Batman harmlessly and easily punching out goons with no mess. There’s blood and a million ways things can go horribly wrong for everyone and collateral damage. And it further shows the kind of effects superpowers would really have in violent scenarios (i.e., how getting punched by something strong enough to lift a building would probably turn you into a stain on the wall) and explores the long term effects of such violence (Chicago spends YEARS in-universe rebuilding after the first really big fight). But even with the blood and gore, it’s still about superheroes saving people and fighting villains.
The Boys doesn’t have ANY of that thought and warmth in it. Because it was conceived entirely by a bitter, nihilistic douchebag who hates superheroes and everything they represent as a genre and just wanted an excuse to jerk himself off by having his OCs murder thinly veiled stand-ins of the superheroes he hates (while carefully avoiding the ones he actually hypocritically likes). And, hey, Ennis is free to do whatever he wants with his writing, but that doesn’t mean I can’t say that said writing sucks to read if you aren’t of the same breed of smarmy, self-righteous edge lord as he is.
Hello, I hope you don't mind me rambling, but: Invincible > The Boys. One thousand percent. Because although Invincible has dreary undertones and excessive gore and the shit people hate about "serious superhero" content, it still has that glimmer of hope. Mark is a genuinely good character and person who wants to do good and protect people! Hell, even Omni-Man — the one everyone calls an anti-Superman or a deconstruction — literally goes against this because he also grows as a person! He was raised in an environment that corrupted him, and yet in the end, goes against his own species to protect people. With The Boys, there's no real feeling of hope or the chance that people grow and change like in Invincible. The Boys makes you feel hopeless; Invincible doesn't. It's why I think it's far superior. I hope that made sense, I just had to get this ramble off my chest LOL
I've never seen Invincible but you're not the first person to tell me this, so it sounds like it might be a pretty good show. Hope is central to all good and proper superhero stories. Hope that things can be better. Hope that people can change. Hope that standing up for what's right will lead to victory. Part of why I hate "deconstructions" is because they usually get rid of the hope. Kind of gleefully, really. You can feel the writers jaded cynicism infecting every pore of the story. And I have no time for that.

sudden horrible thought that you might've actually talked about before so maybe i'm unoriginal. henry doesn't give me the vibe he'd sleep with a woman before marriage but bear with me–what if he got betty pregnant and thought, well, now he has to marry her because he owes her that, owes her not ruining her life. and he tries to be a good husband, he really does try, because he owes her that too. but that fear of debt and obligation is exactly what makes him a terrible husband
GOD……. henry being too fixed on the fact he owes betty to love her. he desperately tries to be good because that’s the least he could do. he wants needs to follow that script accordingly. and i feel like if he makes mistakes, he gets incredibly frustrated because each time, that debt grows. it just turns their marriage into him constantly asking are we even? but no matter what, he hears no. even if he’s the only one counting.
and how awful must that feel for betty. even if henry does love her, it’s like. your husband needs to love you. your husband needs to be good. and isn’t that great? isn’t he so nice? but don’t get it twisted. he didn’t choose this. he barely chose you.
and when she dies—divorced or not—that’s a debt he can never repay. worse, it’s one he will always carry. and now he owes their child, too. you know. the one who definitely has her eyes

Aftermath.
It was an unfortunate truth of reality that heroes were oftentimes a reactive force. They could only respond to what they knew about.
So whenever the heroes uncovered an illegal lab, it typically had a history. Experiments that had been performed there already. Horrors no one in their right mind would want to bear witness to.
But someone had to go through all those records left behind. To risk the worst of humanity’s crimes in search of any potential clues. Often, they found little that was useful. Maybe some closure for the families of the missing, at most. But sometimes, sometimes they did find things. Their work could save lives.
That didn’t change the fact that few in their departments lasted long, and even fewer could ever sleep soundly.
The man took a deep breath and attempted to steel himself. He knew it wouldn’t help.
He clicked on the file anyway.

okay “fuck me? fuck your eyes” was objectively horrifying but i think “oh, fuck my eyes? how’s a murder-suicide sound, bitch?” was the funniest possible way to regain control of the situation

trudy remembering her life is so heartbreaking. she was a child who loved reading, loved learning. she was a person with dreams and agency. she has been literally programmed to not be that. she had been programmed to be a man’s idea of her. despite being programmed to be tucker’s perfect wife she keeps being herself. and instead of being allowed that she has been literally killed continuously for being anything but his idea of her.

Im just yapping but there is this fic on fimficton called Discord of Tomorrow that’s about s2 evil discord traveling forward in time right before he can be turned to stone to switch places with the version of himself (reformed discord) that exists when the elements of harmony are gone, so reformed discord gets stuck in the past and has had to snap away and hide the elements of harmony from the mane 6 so he can focus on trying to get back to the future without getting turned to stone, all while dealing with the moral dilemma of him realizing how easy it was to take the elements and how easy it would be to seriously just take Equestria over again vs being worried about what evil discord is currently doing to his friends in present time. It’s only like three chapters but I think the plot is so funny and the author didn’t even get to the part where evil discord is in the future and the mane 6 is trying to figure out wtf his problem is, thinking he has amnesia or something. I want to make a comic expanding on it so bad I’m like seriously obsessed with it I can’t stop thinking about it
