Flannery O'Connor has influenced my writing for more than 2 years now. I have loved all the short stories in this book and I sometimes still reread it. The social issues addressed in the stories are the realities some people escape and I think that's what made me love them. The themes and endings are also something that fascinates me about O'Connor's writing. It's not just a simple ending where all loose ends get tied up, it's the type of ending that would leave your mouth open not with the words you've read but with the words that were never written.
