I told my friend it must be nice that she was seen right away by the emergency vet and I got stuck waiting for five hours last weekend. I was frustrated because I had to take time from my work day and others kept coming in after my dog and getting seen first. My friend ended up telling me she needs space from me. Sorry just needed to vent

I’m really sorry if this comes off harsh. This is a really sensitive subject for me, but telling your friend “it must be nice” probably felt really dismissive to them. Probably even insensitive. I understand that’s likely not how you intended it to come off, but that’s how it would have felt to me.

Having been someone on both sides of this. Someone who had to wait for awhile to get my dog seen, but also someone whose dog was rushed in ahead of all the others… I can tell you while all vet trips suck, it was so much worse being the one whose dog got rushed in because when that happens, there’s a reason. It’s not first come, first seen. It’s based on severity. I can’t even put into words the terror I felt. I’m not trying to invalidate how you feel. It’s valid to feel frustrated by missing work, and waiting and all that. But I do think that your comment probably really upset your friend when they were likely scared for their pet. I’m not saying you weren’t scared. You’d be valid to be scared and want your pet seen. But I just think some perspective from the other side might be helpful to you understanding.

Your friend wants space right now, so I’d give that to them. But when they’re done needing space, I think it might be good to apologize. Even something like “I’m sorry about what I said. I was feeling frustrated by my own experience but I understand that they weren’t the same and in hindsight, I wouldn’t have said what I did.”

kudos to jorge for continually making the release of the ithaca saga an immersive experience by going to ithaca itself, missing the ferry, getting caught in a storm, and having the livestream delayed. can’t wait to see everyone in ten years for the final album!

The chick's bathroom at my location always has a bunch of fake flowers and seasonal soaps and posters n shit in it and I just asked the custodian kid if the men's did too and he said "Nah just the urinals, the women's room gets all the nice stuff" and he sounded so sincerely wistful so in conclusion I know what I'm gonna do this Christmas

I think that instead of being super apprehensive about Jason and him dating Roy, Oliver should take one look at him and then one look at Bruce and go oh, I'm about to be so annoying.

Oliver starts being so nice to Jason. So nice. Inviting him to family dinners. Giving him both his hero communications and personal phone number and telling him to call whenever he needs something. He gives him new tech and keeps updating his weapons and armor. He helps with missions and clean up and says nothing if Jason is a little rough, apart from patting him on the back and saying good job. He starts keeping his picture inside his wallet and has other pictures of Jason, Roy and Lian framed in the house and tells everyone about him. He starts calling him son-in-law first and then just son and then calls him a Harper and eventually a Queen.

At first it was just to annoy Bruce, but after the first time he tells Jason that he did a good job and Jason starts to tear up a little, Oliver goes oh no, oh I'm actually doing this now. This my boy now. I don't care if he and Roy break up or something, this is my boy now.

Bruce still thinks he's just doing it for the sole purpose of pissing him off, though, and he is so fucking mad. The Justice League meetings have turned into a Cold War zone.

Bruce starts to being so nice to Jason as well, forcing himself to ignore some of the more outrageous things Jason does, and Jason is so, so fucking confused.
