misunderstanding
Summary: When Jude is banned because of his celebration, his anger gets the best of him
word count: 1k
Warnings: Angst
___________________________________
During the game against Slovakia, England was putting up a good fight. When the other team scores, it went unanswered for so long. As you watched the game from the stands, you felt very anxious. Your boyfriend, Jude, was playing and you knew he had a lot of pressure of him during this game. You were wondering how he was dealing with the weight of the game, and you worried for him. When the game clock showed the 90th minute, you could only hope that enough time was added for England to make a comeback. When England finally scored, it was Jude who scored. You jumped up in the stand celebrating along the other fans. You could not have been more proud of your boyfriend. It was only when you looked down at the pitch that you saw how Jude decided to celebrate. You didn't think much of it, other players had done this celebration many times before. Sure, you thought it might've been a bit crude but he was just celebrating, you couldn't blame him. When the game came to a close, you were celebrating, Harry Kane scored a goal in extra time that secured the win for England. When you went down to see Jude, you were so proud of him and could not wait to see him. When he left the locker room, you could see that he was upset about something.
"hey baby, I am so proud of you! You played amazingly tonight, I knew you would be the one to put us ahead" You said and went to kiss his cheek, but he simply turned his head. You were confused and continued "Is everything ok?"
"Can we just go?" Jude said, while he couldn't even look you in the eye. You were a bit hurt because of the way he was acting but decided to leave him cool off before trying to talk to him again. As you drove the both of you home, you would occasionally look over at Jude, who only looked out of the window. You dropped Jude off at the facility where the teams were staying. When he went to leave the car, you tried to talk to him again.
"Ok well I'll call you tonight ok? " You said to him hopeful that he would at least give you something.
"I can't call tonight" he said before opening the door, but before he could get off, you began again.
"That's ok, I'll talk to you later then. I love you"
"You too." Jude said and then he shut the door and walked off. You sat in the car for a couple of minutes, shocked at his behavior. The both of you always said I love you to one another. It sounded so stupid and cheesy, but it did hurt you. You began to drive to the hotel where you were staying. Before, the distance would've killed the both of you, but maybe now it was necessary. You tried to think about every possible thing that could've set him off. When you couldn't think of anything, you tried to brush it off. When you arrived at the hotel, you got ready for bed. Just when you were about to go to bed, you decided to text Jude.
you: Hey Jude, I don't know what happened tonight, but I just wanted to let you know that I am very proud of you, you did great. I love you, please text me back <3
Read at 10:47
When you woke up and saw that he left you on read, you got a bit upset. You genuinely had no idea what happened and you thought maybe it had something to do with you. You decided to try and text his teammate, Trent, and see if maybe he knew something.
You: hey Trent, Do you know what's wrong with Jude???
Trent: did he not tell you?
You: apparently not
trent: Y'know his celebration yesterday? He got a €30,000 fine, and a ban
you: are you serious??
Trent: unfortunately
You were very upset and immediately called Jude.
"Jude why didn't you tell me about the fine and ban??" you said as soon as he answered the phone
"Who told you about that?"
"it doesn't matter, why didn't you?"
"y/n I don't have to tell you every little thing that happens, stuff just happens"
"Not every little thing, but yeah things like that are important, especially when you get disrespectful with me"
"you still haven't answered my question"
"I told you it doesn't matter"
"who did you ask?" Jude said as he began to raise his voice a little. He was met with silence and then he spoke up again. "y/n, who told you about that?"
"I asked one of your teammates"
"Oh so instead of going to me, you go to another guy? How is that right?" Jude said in an accusatory tone. You didn't like what he was implying.
"What are you trying to say right now, you think I would cheat on you?"
"why did you have to go behind my back?"
"You were being cold and unresponsive, I was worried" you said. Jude scoffed not he other end and you began to get teary eyed "we're not accomplishing anything right now, ok. I will call you later when we're both a bit more calm."
"Yeah sure, maybe you can call my teammate and tell him about this" he said before hanging up the phone. You sat indoor hotel room, dumbfounded by this argument. How could he think that about you? You were beyond angry, but you couldn't think about why you were crying right then and there. But maybe he was right, maybe you should've texted Trent, maybe you should've waited for him to be ready. As all of these maybe's went though your head you got a text.
Jude: Honestly, I don't know what to do right now, I need space, I can't be focused on this and the euros, soju please leave me alone right now
you: Jude I will respect you space but please know that I would never do that to you, I promise
Jude: Ok
You: I love you

Hii, i would like to request for Jude Bellingham 🫶🏻 The match between England and Slovakia just ended sooo i was thinking maybe some little angst with reader from Slovakia (because i'm from there🫶🏻) like he would be sad if she wouldn't wear his jersey or her little mad after the match because her country lost, Thank you, have a great day 💗💗
PATRIOTIC (jude bellingham x reader)
summary : in which y/n is a true patriot to her country
face claim : no-one exact
notes : I LOVE THIS IDEA!!!! given the fact im also slovak (jedine vsž !!!). this match was a traumatic experience tbh and i was on the edge of my seat (literally) while watching.. i feel like jude is doing everything to go against my silly ahh.. first joining the rival (madrid) and now knocking out my country from the euros man.. since slovakia is gone, time to cheer for spain and netherlands #vamosandstuff
pairings : jude bellingham x slovak!reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
y/n, long time girlfriend of jude bellingham, could be considered a patriot when it came to sports. on an average day, you could say she hated slovakia. the politicians were horrid, inflation was growing by the week, dumb decisions made by the parliament. but when there was an international tournament, like the hockey world championship or the euros, her national pride was next level. she would proudly wear her jersey with the double cross and the red, white and blue colors and cheer for slovakia like her life depended on it.
this year, the euros were particularly exciting. slovakia had managed to advance to the round of sixteen after a tense tie with romania. the whole country was buzzing with anticipation. y/n, however, had a unique point of view on all of this. she was dating jude bellingham, the english youngster, and their teams were about to face off.
the atmosphere in the stadium was wild. y/n sat in her seat, heart pounding, wearing her slovakia jersey with her name on the back. jude knew she was here, but he didn’t know she’d be wearing that jersey. until now, hes only seen her wear an england jersey with a big number 10 on the back while he was playing. the round of sixteen had brought slovakia against england, and the tension was kinda scary.
the game started off intensely. slovakia's forward, ivan schranz, scored a goal in the 25th minute, sending the slovak fans into a frenzy. you could hear that "SLOVENSKOOOO" in your bones. y/n couldn't help but join in on the celebrations, her heart filling with pride. she glanced at jude on the field, knowing how badly he wanted to advance, but in that moment, all she wanted was for slovakia to beat england.
as the minutes ticked by, the match felt like it was dragging. england pressed hard, but slovakia's defense held strong. y/n's anxiety grew with each passing second. she knew jude was frustrated, but she also knew he was a relentless player.
then, in the 95th minute, jude did the unthinkable. he scored a stunning bicycle kick, tying the game. y/n’s heart sank. she wanted to jump up and celebrate his incredible goal, but the reality of what it meant for slovakia hit her hard. the game was now tied, and the prospect of overtime sneaked ominously.
another thing that kind of pissed y/n off was the way jude celebrated. i mean, come on. you scored against your girlfriend's national team, and that's how you celebrate? of course, it's a very passionate game, but it still hurt, obviously.
overtime began, and y/n's fear became reality. just 50 seconds in, harry kane scored, putting england ahead. slovakia struggled to find an equalizer, and as the final whistle blew, y/n felt a mix of anger, disappointment, and sadness. slovakia's journey in the euros was over, and it was mainly because of the man she loved.
after the match, jude came looking for y/n, a smile on his face. "did you see my goal?" he asked, clearly excited.
y/n, still wearing her slovakia jersey, felt a surge of annoyance. "yeah, i saw it," she replied curtly. jude's smile faded as he noticed her tone.
"what's wrong?" he asked, genuinely confused.
"jude, read the damn room," y/n muttered, turning away. she didn't want to start an argument here, not now.
jude sighed, sensing her mood. "i’m sorry, baby. i know you wanted slovakia to win."
"of course i did? but it's not just that," she said, her voice softening slightly. "let's just drop it for now."
"alright then.." jude reluctantly agreed and went out to dinner with his teammates to celebrate. y/n stayed behind in their hotel room, her mind racing. she knew she was being irrational, but the mix of emotions was overwhelming. how could she be happy for jude when her own team had been eliminated?
hours passed, and when jude returned, the tension in the room was thick. y/n's frustration had only grown. jude, sensing the impending argument, he tried to lighten the mood. "you know, you looked cute in that slovakia jersey," he teased.
y/n glared at him. "really, jude? that's what you want to talk about right now?"
jude's expression hardened. "what's your problem, y/n? i played my heart out there."
"my problem?" y/n snapped. "my problem is that you ruined our chance. you ghosted the whole match and then suddenly scored a stinker in added time."
jude's eyes narrowed. "i was doing my job, y/n. i’m supposed to score goals, remember? and why the hell were you wearing that jersey anyway? do you have any idea how that made me feel?"
"oh, so now it's about your feelings?" y/n shot back. "you think it’s easy for me? watching you celebrate while my team gets eliminated?"
"and you think it was easy for me?" jude retorted. "seeing you cheer for the other team? i thought you’d at least be supportive of me, no matter what."
"other team?? you mean my team??? also, what do you mean by supportive?" y/n scoffed. "how can i support you when you’re one of the main reasons we lost? i know it’s just a game, jude, but it still hurts."
"you’re being ridiculous," jude said, his voice rising. "this isn’t just about the game, is it?"
"of course it is! what are you on about?" y/n replied, tears of frustration welling up in her eyes.
jude ran a hand through his hair, clearly exasperated. "you’re mad at me for doing my job? for helping my team? you knew what this was from the start."
"it's not just about that! it's the way you celebrated, like you didn’t care about what it meant to me!" y/n shot back, her voice breaking. "you scored a goal and acted like you won the fucking world cup. did you even think about how i felt?"
jude’s face softened slightly, but he was still visibly upset. "i’m a footballer, y/n. scoring goals is what i do. it’s my passion, my career. i can’t just switch that off because of you."
"i’m not asking you to switch it off," she said, wiping her eyes. "i’m asking you to be considerate. to think about what it means for me and my country."
jude sighed deeply, frustration giving way to a partial understanding. "i get that, but you need to understand my side too. i can’t not play my best because of our relationship. it’s unfair to my teammates, to the fans."
"i didn’t mean to hurt you," jude said quietly. "i was caught up in the moment. i’m sorry if it came off wrong."
jude stared at her, his anger slowly giving way to realization. "y/n, i never wanted you to feel like that," he said, his tone softening. "i love you, and i cannot imagine you not supporting me from the sidelines."
y/n looked into his eyes, seeing the sincerity there. "okay. but next time, maybe don’t celebrate like you just scored in the finals when you score against us."
jude chuckled softly, pulling her into a hug. "deal. and maybe next time, wear my jersey instead of yours?"
she laughed, the tension finally breaking. "we’ll see about that."
as they held each other, y/n felt the weight of the argument lifting, replaced by a renewed sense of understanding and love. they might come from different worlds, but they were determined to make it work, no matter the challenges.

english translation of this paywall-hidden interview:
find the german version here
Jamal Musiala is only 21 years old, but he is already a key player for the German national team. He has only just moved into his first own apartment. A conversation about growing up in the public eye and dreams outside of sports.
After training with the national football team, Jamal Musiala arrives in high spirits for his interview with WELT AM SONNTAG at the Adidas Homeground, the training facility of the German Football Association in Herzogenaurach. Inside the building, golf bags are lined up for the players to use during their free time. Musiala examines them closely. "I need to stay up to date when it comes to equipment," he says with a smile.
A few days later, he will play an outstanding international match, scoring one goal and assisting three more in a 5-0 victory against Hungary in the Nations League.
WELT AM SONNTAG: Mr. Musiala, do you play golf?
Jamal Musiala: Yes, but I haven’t played in a long time. Thomas Müller and Harry Kane, my teammates at FC Bayern, are very good golfers. Thomas is the better of the two – at least that's what he says (laughs). So I definitely need to practice again to get on their level.
WAMS: There’s a stereotype that golf is more popular with people over 30. Do you feel too young for this sport?
Musiala: Not at all. Golf is just fun.
WAMS: You’ve already won the German Championship four times, two European Championships, played in a World Cup, appeared in 34 international matches, and over a hundred games for FC Bayern – and you’re only 21. Recently, you moved out of your mother’s house.
Musiala: Yes, I moved from my mother’s house into an apartment. It’s a bit different now, but I like it. I really enjoy having my own peace, as we say in English, my own space where it’s quiet. What I really miss, though, is my mom’s delicious food. But I’ve found a good solution – and I enjoy cooking myself now and then.
WAMS: Are you a good cook?
Musiala: Not at all (laughs). But, like with golf, I just enjoy it.
WAMS: But you can manage to make your beloved Maultaschen?
Musiala: Yes, they’re easy. But I can’t eat them too often.
WAMS: At the Euros, you were the top scorer with three goals, along with five other players. Have you set up a trophy room in your first apartment yet?
Musiala: I don’t have much space, so I’ve left all the trophies at my mom’s house.
WAMS: Others your age are just moving into shared apartments, studying, or starting apprenticeships. You debuted in the Bundesliga at 17. How much do you actually experience the everyday reality of your generation?
Musiala: I’ve been in the football world from a young age, so I don’t have many friends outside of sports. I’d like to have more, but you can’t force it. Friendships are important to me. As a teenager, I was in the FC Chelsea Academy, and that’s where friendships formed that have lasted to this day. That means a lot to me.
WAMS: If you hadn’t become a footballer, what do you think you’d be doing today?
Musiala: Funny that you ask, because I was just thinking about that a few days ago. I would definitely do something creative. Maybe study architecture or work as an architect. I always enjoyed drawing in school.
WAMS: Your first own apartment, your fifth season with Bayern, your fourth year in the national team – your nickname "Bambi," which teammate Leroy Sané gave you because of your skinny legs, no longer really fits. Does this current phase of your life feel like growing up?
Musiala: I don’t mind the nickname Bambi; anyone can still call me that. Of course, I’ve grown with experience and I’m no longer the Bambi player. I’ve been through a lot at a young age, and hopefully, there will be many more games and titles to come. Consistency is key, and I do everything I can to maintain that. I rely on good routines and take care of my body.
WAMS: It’s said that you also do a lot of individual training in addition to your team practices.
Musiala: That basically started in our garden when I was a child. My dad played football himself and always told me, "Your coaches will do everything they can to help you become a pro, but the extra effort, the extra miles, you have to do yourself. No one will force you to do that. That drive has to come from within." I thought that message was cool and it made sense. I still take it to heart and always think about what I can do to take another step forward. No matter how many titles I win or how much my status changes, my work ethic and mentality won’t change. I’ll always look for ways to improve and stay open to learning and growing. This mindset has always worked well for me.
WAMS: You also do neuro-athletic training. What exactly do you train?
Musiala: It’s mainly about stability and movement. We train my eye speed, which is very important for my turning movements and positioning on the field. The faster my eyes move, the quicker I can anticipate. The first touch of the ball is often decisive, and this training helps me execute the ideas I have on the pitch.
WAMS: You mentioned your routines earlier. What do they look like?
Musiala: For example, I have a set routine on matchdays. I always take a nap in the afternoon, and then I recite my affirmations. I always step onto the pitch with my right foot. And if I’ve scored a goal – whether for Germany or Bayern – I wear the same pair of boots in the next match until I stop scoring (laughs).
WAMS: What affirmations do you say?
Musiala: They’re affirmations that I’ve tried out and developed over time, and they work well for me.
WAMS: Can you share one with us?
Musiala: Sorry, that’s like making a wish when blowing out birthday candles – you’re not supposed to tell anyone.
WAMS: Who is the most important advisor in your life?
Musiala: I listen a lot to my coaches and teammates, and to the feedback from my family and close friends.
WAMS: Young adults your age are often referred to as the “TikTok generation.” Do you check the feedback on social media?
Musiala: Not much. After a match, I do look at the comments sometimes. Using social media is normal, I think, but over time I’ve learned to distance myself from it. I don’t need it. Negative comments can bring you down.
WAMS: So you haven’t left an angry or praising comment on your idol Stephen Curry’s social media accounts yet?
Musiala: (laughs) Now that you mention it, maybe I’ll do that with a fake account. No, Curry knows how good he is. What he did at the Olympics was incredible. He represents top performance and entertainment. And he never makes unnecessary moves just to show off. He always focuses on the team. That’s the standard I want to live up to as well. I want people to come to the stadium and enjoy watching me, while I always give everything for the team. I can learn a lot from Curry.
WAMS: Do you watch a lot of NBA?
Musiala: Every Warriors game. I’m a real fan. I’m really excited for the season to start again in October. I thought the Warriors would make a few more trades, get a few more players, but okay – we’ll see how the season goes.
WAMS: Teammates and coaches describe you as very down-to-earth. Yet your rise from talent to star was rapid; over five million people follow you on Instagram, and you’re seen as the future of German football. How do you manage to stay grounded?
Musiala: That has a lot to do with how I was raised and how my parents brought me up. I just stay the way I am – open and respectful to people. You always get that back. Fame and money might change the lifestyle a bit, but not my values and attitude.
WAMS: With Thomas Müller, Manuel Neuer, Ilkay Gündogan, and Toni Kroos having retired from the national team, are you now expected to step up as a leader? Is that what coach Julian Nagelsmann is expecting of you, despite your young age?
Musiala: At the Euros, I realized that I can take on more responsibility. But all of us have to take responsibility on the pitch. We help each other. The more experience I gain, the more I’ll grow into a leadership role.
WAMS: Nagelsmann recently announced the new team council, and you’re not part of it – which record national player Lothar Matthäus criticized.
Musiala: That’s totally fine with me. We have a very open relationship with each other and with the coaching staff. Whenever I want to express my opinion or it’s asked for, I’ll say it. I don’t have to be part of the team council to be a leader. I’ve known Julian for quite a while, and we get along really well.
WAMS: After the quarter-final exit at the Euros in Germany, Nagelsmann set the goal for the 2026 World Cup: "We want to become world champions." How realistic is that?
Musiala: We can definitely win the title in 2026. With a bit more luck, we would have at least made it to the semifinals at the Euros. As a team, we've made good progress recently and will continue to develop over the next two years. We’ve learned from the Euros and want to go far in the World Cup.
WAMS: What are your personal goals for the coming months?
Musiala: I always want to be better than in the previous season. I want to further improve my strengths and work on the things I didn’t do so well recently.
WAMS: What are those things?
Musiala: Decision-making – making the right decision quickly on the field; there’s still room for improvement. That’s crucial in football. I also want to get into more scoring positions. That worked well during the Euros. I definitely want to get into the penalty area more often. That’s why I was very happy to score a “simple goal” recently for FC Bayern in Wolfsburg, where I was in the right place to tap it in.
WAMS: You once mentioned a principle for your play: no dribbling in your own half.
Musiala: That’s not always the case, but it's generally true. Recently, at Bayern, I’ve been positioned deeper during build-up play, so sometimes you need to dribble to start an attack and pull an opponent out of position. I do what the situation requires. In football, anything can happen, something unexpected. Intuition and anticipation are crucial.
WAMS: You were influenced by English football as a youth – and you’ve moved around quite a lot in your young life…
Musiala: … very often, yes.
WAMS: You were born in Stuttgart, then moved to Fulda because your mother Carolin began her studies there. From there, she took you to Southampton for an Erasmus program, then back to Fulda. Chelsea scouted you, and you moved to London – and eventually to Munich when you joined Bayern. Where is home for you?
Musiala: That’s something we’ve often asked ourselves within the family. For me, home is where I live. And where my family is. They are the most important thing in my life. We have a very close bond. That will never change. I have a younger sister and a younger brother. The fact that we siblings tease each other for fun will never change either.
WAMS: Are you already thinking about starting your own family?
Musiala: I’ve always been a family person. But I haven’t thought about starting my own family yet. I don’t have a timeline for that. I like my life the way it is right now. Football, occasionally going out with friends – it’s perfect for me at the moment.
WAMS: One of your best friends is Joshua Zirkzee from Manchester United, and you were recently on vacation together in the USA. He recently told a fan that he tried to convince you to move to United.
Musiala: Friends always joke and dream about playing on the same team one day. The teasing goes both ways: I also told Josh to come back to Bayern. But you shouldn’t take that too seriously.
WAMS: Your contract with FC Bayern runs until the summer of 2026. How much would you like to play for a global club abroad someday? Your friend Jude Bellingham moved from Borussia Dortmund to Real Madrid.
Musiala: I’m very happy at FC Bayern and fully focused on our goals with the club and the national team. I don’t give much thought to where I’ll be playing in five years. In the football world, things can change quickly.
WAMS: Mr. Musiala, what is a dream you have for your life outside of sports?
Musiala: I would love to go on a world tour. You need time for that, though. Between seasons, I only have a maximum of three weeks of vacation, and that’s not enough. It was exciting to visit the USA for the first time. For example, I was fascinated by Las Vegas. I’m also very interested in many Asian cities. Discovering countries and cultures is fun and broadens your horizons. Someday, I’ll travel a lot. In ten to fifteen years, I’ll start planning that more seriously.

Holger Badstuber Column
Hello football fans!
Tumblr media
New Year's Eve is just around the corner and the Bundesliga presents us with a few nice surprises when we look at the table. Bayer 04 Leverkusen with coach Xabi Alonso in first place, VfB Stuttgart in third, Union Berlin close to the relegation zone, BVB 15 points behind the leaders - I watched a lot of games, I was at the Allianz Arena and visited my former club in Stuttgart.
I've seen good football, exciting football, thrilling football. This season offers much of what I have loved about this sport for decades. Time for an interim assessment with four highlights and three weak points, and of course I won't let the championship prediction get away from me. How do you think the race for the championship will go? You can read my assessment in the text below. First the highlights.
Tumblr media
Leverkusen enjoys winning
First place for Leverkusen is no surprise in principle. Coach Xabi Alonso's team plays consistently and has not yet been defeated. The style of play is clear, structured, sometimes ruthless. It's well-rounded, harmonious. It shows me that the coach's idea is being implemented consistently.
What's more, they have slowly taken a liking to winning. They're really up for it! That makes them extra dangerous for the competition. With his skills, Florian Wirtz stands out for me among a number of top players such as Boniface, Xhaka, Hofmann, Frimpong and Grimaldo.
The star, however, remains Alonso. As a player, he used to have everything under control on the six, but now he has managed to impart his knowledge as a coach. He combines competence with authority. Xabi Alonso will be coaching a really big team sooner rather than later.
Tumblr media
Soothing calm in the Bayern environment
The leak at Säbener Strasse seems to have been plugged. Hardly any disagreements or disputes have been reported. For the club, this is a welcome development after the constant unrest surrounding the club in recent years
A number of positions have been filled - the decision to bring Christoph Freund on board as sports director was absolutely the right one. He is a good man with a good eye for talent and experience in developing players. Together with coach Thomas Tuchel, whom I hold in high esteem, I trust him to set up a framework that is Bayern-like again. The seed has been sown.
Harry Kane: More than a 9
25 goals in 22 competitive games, plus eight assists: WOW, what a record! What makes Harry Kane so valuable is his versatility. Compared to Robert Lewandowski, for example, Kane is not "just" a goalscorer, but also a ten-man who often plays the decisive final ball.
Kane combines the numbers 9 and 10, which is what makes him so dangerous, he also lets himself drop at times and is therefore less tangible for defenders. Every cent of this immense investment has already paid off for FC Bayern. I can only congratulate him once again on this transfer.
Tumblr media
VfB Stuttgart: A very strong block
I once experienced how much the region lives and shakes when VfB plays, both as an active professional and as a guest in the stadium this season. These fans, this club and its environment deserve a stable season. The people in charge speak with one voice, the squad has been super strengthened in terms of positions with Stiller, Mittelstädt and Undav. Coach Sebastian Hoeneß has established a gallant power football that perfectly suits this dynamic club.
The players also look fresh and fit. With keeper Nübel, the back four and the two back sixes, there is a very strong block, a real unit. That creates consistency and reliability and, last but not least, defensive balance. I hope that VfB don't lose any top players in the winter and simply see the season through in this constellation. Then at least fifth place is certain!
Tumblr media
Squad gaps at FCB: Transfers are needed for titles
First of all, a big compliment from me to Aleksandar Pavlovic. I liked what I saw of him. He has potential. He'll get his chance to really gain a foothold at Bayern in the future. But he's not the solution to achieve the goals now. Experience is the trump card in this position.
If FCB still want to win titles, which I logically assume they will, they need to bring in quality reinforcements in the winter. A physically strong, tall, simple-playing six-man and a right-back are urgently needed. To a certain extent, the season hinges on the winter transfer window. I can't say whether Bayern will be able to close the gaps in the squad. We'll have to be surprised.
Tumblr media
Too fast, too much at Union
It's a bit of a shame, but it was also a bit predictable. Triple the workload, mixing it up with transfers, that's what messed up the team. It even got to the point where coach Urs Fischer had to go.
I didn't expect that and that Union would slip so far down the table. I still like the club, it has established itself in the Bundesliga with a well thought-out style of play and unity. Recently, it seemed as if the "Irons" had regained their composure. Please keep it up!
Tumblr media
Köln's fall from grace
It had already become apparent in the summer that coach Steffen Baumgart's energy-sapping philosophy was continuing to wear thin. Added to this were crucial departures such as Ellyes Skhiri. Now the team has not only lost its greed, but also its balance. The quality is no longer sufficient.
Baumgart is now gone and his successor will not get any new players because the International Court of Arbitration for Sport has confirmed FIFA's ban on transfers for two transfer periods. Fear of relegation is rampant in Cologne - and rightly so.
Tumblr media
And who will be champion?
In January, many professionals from the Bundesliga will be at the Africa Cup and the Asian Championships. One team that will be particularly hard hit is Bayer 04 Leverkusen. They could be missing up to six players. At Bayern, Minjae Kim and Noussair Mazraoui are likely to be traveling. Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting was surprisingly not nominated for Cameroon's national team.
Depending on which team compensates better for the losses, the second half of the season will start with a boost. There will be a duel between Leverkusen and Bayern right up to the last matchday. But FC Bayern will always be my favorite to win the championship.

Okay everyone, here’s my rant…
AFL media, analysts and commentators cannot for the life of them say anything positive about the Blues. Saad’s impact on this game was incredible. He played his defensive role beautifully. (He kicked a goal for cripes sake!) What did the media say about him this week? I’d love to know if you heard him get a mention.
SEN on Monday morning mentioned Carlton players four times: why would anyone want to buy Sam Walsh custom boots; why would you rate Kade Simpson; Carazzo was a half decent player; Harry Mckay’s head trauma incident. Nathan Buckley spent the entire segment on the Carlton/Kangas game talking about Mckay’s head trauma incident. Is Buckley a medical professional? Could we get one single comment analysing the actual game? Nope. Hawthorn and Collingwood - all over it because Kane Cornes friggin loves his not-even-in-the-eight Hawthorn. Bucks said the Swans/Brissie game was the GF preview, and it was a good game but who’s second on the ladder???!!!!
Every mention about Carlton is negative. The Fox game commentary is negative, everything is negative. You wouldn’t think we were second on the ladder, half a game clear. You wouldn’t think we have a once-in-a-generation coach - one of the most talented coaches in the history of the game (YES I SAID IT). You wouldn’t think our Captain was on track to win his second Brownlow or that our full forward was the first player to reach 50 games in 2024, on track to win his second Coleman. You would think we have one of the best midfield duos in the league: Crippa and Walsh; or one of the best tall forward partnerships in the League: Curnow and McKay.
And you know what, friends: it doesn’t matter. Because WE KNOW we are Flaggers 2024. We know we are winning the Premiership in 2024. And they will hate us for it, just like they’ve hated us all year, and it’ll be great.

It’s insane because the fact that Harry doesn’t really compliment Sonny in the way that Sonny is always ready to ramble about him is so special. Simply because Harry loves Sonny so much it’s obvious - you don’t even need words to know. It’s in the way he always runs backwards to catch him after a goal, in the way he never doubts Sonny, in the way he smiles at him and laughs with him when they do interviews together, shedding that stoic personality of Harry Edward Kane, England’s golden boy, that he’s built up over the years. He’s just so different around Sonny.
And it makes things like “Never in doubt” or “Anything that makes Sonny smile is a good thing” and “Sonny’s a very important player to the team” even more special. Yes, everyone loves Sonny, but Harry loves him in this, like, absolutely furtive secret way even though it’s out in the open for everyone to see? Like the love he has for him is so personal?
It’s so … “If I loved you less, I might be able to talk about it more.”
Tumblr media
i don’t even feel qualified to answer this, because how are you going to drop the most heartbreaking ask on my humble little blog?
(disclaimer? note?: i can’t believe i’m writing all this for a footballer.. while i was typing this out i was genuinely concerned for my mental health)
harry’s a pretty selfish player, and i’m not saying that to talk bad about him, that’s just the way he needed to develop, as a striker whose first priority is to score goals for himself.
heungmin and harry are almost polar opposites, and although we normally associate acts of love as something grand, something we need to show around, maybe sometimes, love is stored in small acts that only the person you love know, actions that are so out of character for you, but actions that develop into habits that you’re so unaware of, but habits you develop for them… does this make sense !!! and it’s genuinely insane that harry, out of everyone, is the one that notices the small things about heungmin, like when harry pushed eric aside when he saw that he was being too harsh with heungmin when he was stretching him out, doing everything he possibly can to get heungmin another goal to secure an individual golden boot when he heard that salah had scored another goal, and patting his chest in silent apology when he accidentally pushed heungmin while trying to get in between heungmin and some arsenal players… Does this Make Sense !!!!!
heungmin loves him in a way where he talks and talks and talks about harry to other people, because that’s just his way of expression; he wants the media to know that what a great person harry is, and perhaps that stems from his need for praise from his dad or from the media. when heungmin loves something, it just oozes out of him - you can physically see the happiness and his love for football radiate off of him when he plays. he doesn’t do subtlety and that’s just the way heungmin is !! he wants everyone to love and see harry in the way that he does.
and harry loves him in a way where he wants to be the only person who gets to see heungmin in a certain way, because everyone loves heungmin but he’s the only one who knows certain details about heungmin. i was talking to alex abt this but my fucking gad i wish i could express myself better on this bc i have SO much to say on the way they love …. oughhhhh

He did such a great job as defender, I wish they had put him in the squad for these kinds of emergencies. Tuchel didn't think. Just like he let harry warm up for 30 minutes and then just didn't sub him on?? One goal. We needed one goal.
He really did 🥹 and let’s face it: you never know what’s going to happen in the DFB Pokal. It’s always nice to have someone in reserve you know you can count on. I understand that they didn’t want to risk re-injuring Leon though, as much as it would’ve made our lives easier if he was there.
I’d love to know what was going through Tuchel’s mind. For once, the correct tactical decision was obvious; we needed a goal, and Harry Kane scores goals for fun. Plus Thomas performs even better than he already does when paired with a strong striker like him. All Tuchel had to do was sub him on. And like you said, it was looking like was gonna happen, but we all know what came next: Harry was hung out to dry. For reasons I legitimately do not understand. We literally only needed one goal. Why were we not doing everything in our power to make that happen?

Hello!
I like Kaneson very much like you.
Did you see the interviews Harry said about Sony's 100th goal this time? Harry said he was proud of Sonny and was lucky to play with him. It's the same as the interview that Sonny did in celebration of Harry's record. I think Harry remembered and told Sonny the same. It's so romantic.
Harry seems to love Sonny very much. Sonny seems to love Harry a lot, too. Harry doesn't treat other players like Sonny, does he?
Their love is really special.
I'm from a different country and what image is kaneson in England? Are there many people who like Kaneson?
They are indeed very romantic. There's something very theatrical in Kane Son's interactions with each other! They look so in love! Everything else disappears when they are together! It's just two of them in their world together!
I don't think Harry treats any other player this way! I think he is buddies with some of the English speaking players like Doherty, Dier! But I think with Son it's totally different and more than friendship! It's more Romantic! I mean come on the way the dude looks at his Sonny!
I always say Harry is so soft for his Sonny...The way he looks at Son, the way he smiles and giggles around Son is pure Love and pure Romance! It is very evident in Harry's behavior, his glances that how much he cares for Sonny and is very protective of him. Harry's love for Sonny reflects or shows through his eyes.
No offense to anyone but I feel Harry has more chemistry and spark with Son than he has with his wife. Harry and Sonny has a certain level of comfort with each other. I think they find comfort in each other. I mean even if they are not touching or hugging you can see the comfort they share with each other! Though I love their PDAs, and little touches and PDAs are their love language. But even when they are sad or not even talking directly you can see the comfort just in being together! They were born to be together ❤️ I mean in passionate moments you can feel the sexual tension between them but at the same time in normal moments you can feel the comfort and ease they have between them. Their chemistry is solid. They find solace in each other I feel.
Their love story deserves a happy ending. I hope they win a trophy together. I would love to see them actually kissing on that day 😅

Now that kane is going to bayern, I would like to finally say that I've always rated Harry Kane and believed he should have so much more to show for. The captain for England, nearly at the PL goal record, and bo trophies to show for it is a disgrace. Legit deserves to win everything at bayern.

https://ift.tt/0vNTCFY Vincent Kompany on tomorrow's opponent: 'Mainz are strong in duels and always try to put pressure on the opponent from a compact position. They're a team that's always aware; you can see that in every situation. It's a cup game. It will not be an easy task. We are preparing and looking forward to the game. It's important to advance.' Kompany on the importance of the Pokal: 'In my mentality, there's no ranking. There's only the next game. For us, it's just as important as a final. Because it's the next game, we want to win and will do everything we can to return home successfully.' Kompany on the pitch in Mainz (Gladbach criticized the pitch after their game there last weekend): 'Sometimes the pitch affects the course of the game. But we're not thinking about that. We could play on the top of the Himalayas. The most important thing is that we are the better team tomorrow and that we win.' Kompany on the early exits in the Pokal in recent years: 'We can't change the past. It's about what we bring tomorrow. That's our whole focus. I have incredible confidence in the team.' Kompany on the Ballon d'Or: 'I know Rodri well. He's an incredibly talented player. The fact that he won the award is a great achievement. There are always four or five players who are incredible. Vinicius Junior was also outstanding. There's a jury that votes. Rodri is a fantastic player; I'm sure he and the club are proud. For Harry Kane, it's fantastic to win the Gerd Müller award. The longer I know him, the more certain I am that he is not just concerned about the goals, but about the success of the team. He really does everything for it.' England Players Rally Behind Captain Harry Kane Amid Criticism
Tumblr media
England's squad is standing firmly behind Harry Kane, their captain, who has faced scrutiny for his recent performances at Euro 2024. Number 10, CC BY 2.0 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/2.0, via Wikimedia Commons Kane has netted two goals in the journey to the semi-finals, but his overall form has been questioned. Despite his record, some have called for Gareth Southgate to bench him for the upcoming match against the Netherlands. However, his teammates argue that Kane's presence is crucial. Trent Alexander-Arnold emphasized the psychological edge Kane gives to opponents when absent. He highlighted how even his Liverpool teammate, Virgil van Dijk, would likely prefer not to face Kane. “Anyone facing England would rather Kane not play. He's a constant threat. In and around the box, he's lethal. I consider him the best finisher I've played with,” said Alexander-Arnold. This sentiment is echoed throughout the squad, as reflected in Luke Shaw's comments during their training session in Blankenhain. Shaw pointed out that Kane's presence on the field boosts team morale. “We all feel more positive with him on the pitch. He’s our leading goalscorer and captain. His ability to change the game is invaluable,” Shaw stated. Shaw, who has recently returned from a five-month hamstring injury, added to England’s depth by providing balance on the left side. His return seemed uncertain after a training setback, but a minor injury allowed him to rejoin the squad later in the tournament. Reflecting on his own challenges, Shaw mentioned how his recovery was a significant personal hurdle. “After everything I had been through, I feared being ruled out. Thankfully, the injury was minor, and I managed to return.” The memory of England's narrow defeat in the Euro 2020 final still motivates Shaw. “That result was hard to swallow. It drives me to do better this time,” he said, focusing on the upcoming decisive days in Germany. As England prepares to travel to Dortmund, they face no new injury or suspension concerns. Southgate's main decision revolves around the centre-back position, where Ezri Konsa performed well in Marc Guéhi's absence against Switzerland. Guéhi is eager to reclaim his spot against a formidable Netherlands team. With the team rallying behind him, Kane remains a pivotal figure as England aims for glory in Euro 2024. Interview with Harry Kane pt1
By: Kicker
Tumblr media
Your first winter break is behind you, Mr. Kane. How was it?
I had a really good time with my family. We were in the Caribbean, which actually felt a bit strange at first. Normally I played soccer. This time I was able to watch all the Premier League games in peace, which was fun - and to be honest, you get used to it quickly. Especially because it was a good opportunity to spend time with my wife and children, who I've rarely seen in the past four months.
How did your ex-colleagues react? You wanted to send a photo ...
Exactly. I sent them a photo of me lying in the sun in the national team's Whatsapp group. That was just before New Year's Eve, when they were all playing (grins). I then wished them good luck for the games - a few of them wished me a happy New Year in return. Knowing full well that they were in the cold and I was in the beautiful Caribbean sun.
Tumblr media
The first six months at FC Bayern are over. Have you spent your days off reviewing your start in Munich?
I'm very happy, I have to say. It was my first transfer after a really long time at Tottenham, so I didn't know exactly what to expect. I just believed in myself and my abilities. I knew I would be joining a great team, but I didn't know exactly what to expect and how everything would go. But now I'm totally happy with how I've settled in in Munich and with the team. The few months in the hotel were great, everyone there was really great to me - just like the fans, who are incredibly supportive. All in all, I couldn't have imagined a better start
The first half of the season is not yet over for Bayern because of the catch-up game against Union - and you've already scored over 20 goals in the Bundesliga alone.
That's right. If we were also top of the table, it would be ideal. But Bayer Leverkusen have simply made a strong start to the season. Nevertheless, if someone had told me in August that I would score more than 20 goals by Christmas, I would have signed it immediately. After the first few games, I already had the feeling that we - me and the players around me - could achieve even more if we got to know each other better.
We've been together for a while now and I think we're getting better and better, which was evident in November and December. If we carry on like this, doing more training sessions and games, we'll get even stronger. I hope that I continue to develop, but not just myself, but also the players around me, like Leroy Sané, Jamal Musiala, Kingsley Coman and Serge Gnabry when he's back. So hopefully we'll all have a strong second half of the season.
Tumblr media
You've mentioned time and again in recent months that despite scoring so many goals, you still don't see yourself at 100 percent. How close are you now?
Towards the end of the year, I think I was close. I was starting to feel really good. Even though I wasn't living in my house yet, I was starting to feel 100 percent comfortable in the environment and on the training pitch. The winter break was a bit of a break now, it will probably take two or three games to get back into the rhythm. Nevertheless, I feel ready and hope to do even better than in the season so far.
Tumblr media
In December, you moved from your hotel in the city center to the former home of Lucas Hernandez. Have you finally arrived in Munich?
I think so. There was so much going on at the beginning, it was all about the job. I got to know a lot of new people and had to get used to the environment. It wasn't so easy when the family wasn't here. Now everyone is here, the children are at school and it's starting to feel like home, which is very important. I'm the type of person who likes to be at home with my family and spend a lot of time with them. It's all new for her too, but I think it's a great experience. My wife has lived in London for most of her life - we're really excited to start this new chapter together
Has your family already settled in?
It's certainly not easy, and you always worry about the children, whether they will enjoy school and make friends. But I'm sure they will. The good thing is that they are at a really good age to learn the language. They are probably faster than me (laughs). I think life is about experiences and for us as a family this is a big step. We're just going to soak it all up and enjoy it.
Tumblr media
What about your German?
It's going slowly. It's really difficult for me. I spend two hours a week learning the language. I try to listen when the people around me speak German, to pick up something here and there, but it takes time.
A different culture, different food, a different currency, different traffic, a different league. What do you miss about the island?
That's a really good question ... I'm not someone who misses a lot. I'm someone who moves on and looks forward and not too much into the past. I try to process everything and enjoy being here. Luckily, a lot of people here also speak English, which helps me a lot. That's life: You have a job, a family to look after and so it goes on. As soon as the weather improves, I'm going to find some golf courses and play a few holes while the kids go to school. My life here is getting more and more routine.
What are your favorite spots in Munich?
I haven't been out that much yet, but of course the English Garden is really beautiful. I want to go to the mountains so the kids can ski - and I can watch them. But my favorite spot will probably be a nice golf course (grins).
Tumblr media
Your former club, Spurs, missed out on international business for the first time in 13 years. When did you first think about a new challenge abroad? And when did your decision mature?
I focused on helping the team and concentrating on the next game. Of course, we had a difficult season last year, so I didn't want to let that distract me. Normally, you always start weighing up your options at the end of the season. I had one year left on my contract, so I knew there was a possibility of a move and it was just a matter of having a conversation with the Tottenham chairman. If I left, it could be a European club, Bayern was a club that was very present for me. When I took a closer look at the team, I thought it could be a good option for me.
English clubs have also been courting you. Would a move to another Premier League club even be conceivable for you?
You can never say never in football because many things can change. Tottenham was a big part of my life. As a team we had really great moments together, but Bayern Munich was a really good option for me. I wanted to experience something different, I wanted to get to know European football.

the way Bellingham just saved Southgate from being sacked, happy for England but I’m just fuming- what does he have against Trent?
hiiii anon!!! cjdjdi listen bellingham SAVED him. southgate was going to be Sacked tonight otherwise. i love bellingham but he has not turned up this tournament, save for the 2 goals he has scored. listen. bellingham + foden? DOES NOT WORK. you start one and drop one. foden is NOT a left winger, when gordon is RIGHT THERE. harry kane is just doing too much too. he is a striker and he's doing EVERYTHING but being one. just HOLD your position mannnnn!
and fjfnsifo southgate cannot and will not drop walker bc of his pace. thats IT! trent in midfield didnt work and so now southgate doesnt know what to do with him! god. its embarrassing.
