Let's take this trainwreck of an "analysis" apart step by step, shall we?

Oh, good lord, now I'm seeing Bi-Han stans say his father was abusive. There is literally nothing in MK1 implying that.

In the previous timeline, Bi-Han's and Kuai Liang's father literally kidnapped them and killed their mother and sister, then raised them to become assassins against their will, but now we're supposed to believe that man's a saint?

I've said this in a different post before and I'll repeat it here too: The core essence of every character in MK1 is basically still the same as it was in the old timeline. Geras is still loyal to his creator (previously Kronika, now Liu Kang), Scorpion might be a different person now but he's still vengeful, Sindel is good now, but she's still a merciless ruler, Kung Lao is still ambitious, etc. Not a single one of these characters is a completely new and different person. Following that logic, the same thing would apply to the old grandmaster.

At first glance, it may seem like nothing implies that Bi-Han's and Kuai Liang's father was abusive, but that's only if you ignore anything outside of the main story.

I made an entire post about it here, but I'll give you the short version:

Additionally, there was a node in the previous season of invasions mode that involved another fight with Bi-Han, titled "second best". Second best at what? We know that in the old timeline, Bi-Han was the Lin Kuei's best assassin. Therefore, this could have only been referring to the new era's Bi-Han, again confirming that their father had a favorite son, Kuai Liang, not Bi-Han.

Believe it or not, this is a form of emotional abuse.

Y'all (thirsty fandom bitches) are so obsessed with your villain faves being victims of parental abuse, even when canon doesn't imply that or literally says otherwise. I've seen it in the Scream fandom, now it's in the MK fandom, too.

Still not convinced? How about we change perspectives from my favorite character to my least favorite one then? Everyone who's been following this blog knows I can't stand Kuai Liang, but I even believe him to be a victim of abuse at his own father's hand, albeit in a different way than Bi-Han.

So, what does this intro tell us?

Kuai Liang has known hunger, so there must have been a period in his life where he has been starving, but why? Poverty seems highly unlikely. The Lin Kuei seem well organized and in his tower ending, Bi-Han talks about how many of their resources were spent on the cyber initiative, so I doubt the Lin Kuei were ever poor or he wouldn't have been able to afford all that technology at all. The brothers also come across as quite arrogant. Growing up poor would have probably made them more humble.

So, why was Kuai Liang starving? Would loving parents let their children starve? Was it perhaps part of their training or a way to punish them for disobedience? And if so, why does Kuai Liang still think and speak so highly of his father? Stockholm syndrome maybe.

And let's say it wasn't the grandmaster's fault that they were starving, then wouldn't it make Bi-Han's ambition to give the clan more wealth and power noble instead of selfish? It would mean no more starving for any of the Lin Kuei in the future.

Regardless of your takeaway from this, the end result remains the same: Bi-Han is not evil.

Bi-Han has always been an asshole. He's power-hungry and he is a bad person. Him murdering his father (whom his brothers haven't implied anything bad about) is no surprise, and trying to make up completely non-canon things to justify it because you can't handle liking a fictional villain is moronic.

Bi-Han shows genuine regret over Sindel's death.

Tomas, one of the nicest characters in the game, used to look up to Bi-Han.

Kitana's announcer voice when selecting Bi-Han: "You were a decent person once."

He's flawed, not evil.

The only person making up completely non-canon things is you.

Oh, and for the record, I'm a huge fan of Homelander and there's no saving grace to that man. I don't care though, I love villains.

Here's the punchline though, Bi-Han isn't a villain, he's an anti-hero/anti-villain type of character. Do some research.

It's Bi-Han. Bi-Han would sell his little brother to Shang Tsung for a single corn chip! (And I don't mean Tomas; he'd give away Tomas for free.)

Bi-Han literally refused to deliver Kuai Liang to Kronika in MK11 as Noob when Geras told him to.

Geras: Bring your brother to Kronika. Noob Saibot: The dead are my clan. Geras: Do you serve or do you not?

Bi-Han doesn't wish harm upon either of his brothers in MK1 either, he tells them multiple times to surrender and join him. Just watch their intros, it's all there. He even admitted that he wanted Kuai Liang to rule by his side. In his intros with Shang Tsung, he also mentions that he regrets ever trusting him.

The whole original post is a joke. Implying that people who are upset over mischaracterization and bad writing must be thirsting over a character is just ridiculous.

I feel so out of sync with the Ghosts fandom! I just don't care at all about fanwanking everyone's gender and sexual identity and even the canon romances are meh to me. And I was so meh about this Christmas episode while everyone else loved it. The possessions didn't work for me at all, and the Pete stuff...not to sound heartless, but we've already been down that exact same road with him and Laura so it didn't hit nearly as hard this time. I also don't love Jay as much as most do---he's kind of a wimp who apparently went years without standing up for Sam to his family and he's always so desperate for acceptance. Speaking of his family, yet another way I'm different from most of the ghosts fandom is that I can't STAND Bela. Like Jay, she thinks way too highly of herself and is kind of a social climber but lacks Jay's endearing qualities. Can't wait to read your review of this ep!

What are a few predictions you have for the rest of this season? Not obvious ones like Nisaac getting back together (which...yawn!) but kind of bold and unexpected ones?! Mine: Trevor is getting sucked off, Sam will discover she's pregnant and Hetty's power has something to do with time travel!

I totally get it, even though I will disagree to varying degrees on varying levels on some of those things. (Like for instance, Bela's my girl but I see where you're coming from.)

As for the episode itself...it's weird cause I DID like it...but not as a Christmas episode. It didn't feel particularly like a Christmas episode at all compared to its predecessor unless it was trying to replicate the holiday chaos of something like Home Alone or Christmas Vacation (neither of which are faves of mine. I prefer the stuff with warmer, happier endings and messages). I feel like the Christmas part of it was so on the periphery of the story that they could have made each possession be its own normal episode and the same story could have been told without it changing anything.

Like I LOVED the idea of Nancy helping Sam indirectly make headway with her mother-in-law in ways she couldn't do on her own. That was cool. But was it particularly Christmassy a la Thor the Grinch possessing Sam and learning what Christmas means? No, it was not.

And Pete possessing Jay? Entertaining and I LOVED that it gave him the opportunity to meet the ghosts "in person", but I wish they could have used the opportunity for the two to connect more rather than just turning Pete into a Hetty who's using the possession for his own gain (even though I understand the whole Laura thing and love them connecting, it was under a circumstance that could have happened any time.) I'm hoping that since the showrunners and writers know how big the Pete/Jay face to face/connection is to all of us, they're doing some sort of build up, from first trip out together to possession to...whatever comes next until they finally do talk and it's like a Very Special Episode or something.

Now I don't feel as strongly about Jay as you do, but I definitely agree with the idea that there needs to be some sort of reckoning in his and Sam's relationship where he finally just, I don't know, starts spilling out all his frustrations and says how he really feels. And I don't care if it leads to them having marriage troubles or what (if it's temporary and leads them both to actually learn something) but I hate Jay always having to get the short end of the stick and doing nothing to improve the situation. It's very frustrating.

I agree about Trevor getting sucked off. I won't be surprised if it happens because they really seem like they're setting something like that up. I hope with all my might that Sam doesn't discover she's pregnant now or at any point in the series. I really don't like this habit of showrunners feeling like every happily married couple needs to have a baby pop out of nowhere to be complete and I would like to have at least one show where that doesn't happen. (They did it in BBC Ghosts and it was a factor, IMO, why the ending was so unsatisfactory. But if it happens, I'll deal.)

Hetty's power having something to do with time travel? Interesting! Although I'm still thinking it's a phone thing. And in the Halloween episode she was going on about it showing up suddenly so maybe if she has phone powers, like there's a storm and they have no power and no way to reach anyone and then voila, in their hour of need, Hetty's power appears and she saves the day.

I also think Sas' COD is coming. Maybe something to do with food? (And possibly if that's a cause, maybe Jay's restaurant will be part of the reveal?)

And we haven't had our Stephanie episode yet so I wonder what they'll do with her and what it will take to get her sucked off? Maybe she gets to have some sort of revenge on her killer? Like he gets out of jail on parole and ends up at Woodstone somehow where she helps catch/reveal him like with Trevor and Ari but more intense?

And I wonder what else they'll do with Elias since he's coming too? Maybe there will be some talk about the Thomas and Alberta situation and we'll find out that Thomas has been chilling with his dad downstairs and...they both come up under the guise of Thomas making an apology to Alberta and...chaos ensues?

Where as Jared is concern, almost everyone speaks highly of him and it is not just tongue service. There is proof in the pudding. Jared is not the only one who the studio chose as a lead, even before the end of the existing show. Jared is the only one for whom two networks actually had a bid war. Jared's is the one who is still in touch with his previous cast mates, and they love him. They talk about him unprompted, and none of them are leeches who are sucking up to Jared. They all are great at what they do, so when they speak of Jared unprompted, we know it comes from a genuine place of admiration. Jared is the one who is not only appreciated by his cast and crew but also by his fans and the organisation's he is associated with.

Unlike you shallow assholes who care about nothing but looks (if I think about you are not to be blame coz that is only what Jensen got to offer right now) Jared fans care about him as a person and admire his craft. He has proved to be a great leader in not one but two productions. Although the series is on halt. He is still in touch and loved by the cast members. He doesn't have to talk of projects he almost got, nor he hype self up by saying how good he looks. He is comfortable in his skin, sadly, same can't be said for Jensen.

So no asshole the entire "world" isn't being asshole towards Jared. It is only you guys along with your fave & Co. And I pity you for thinking that the world is limited to SPN and Jensen.

Fallout NV is for sale on steam for like $2.50 or something rn, and I’m a bit torn. Everyone speaks highly of the game and the rpg bits seem interesting, but I don’t particularly like or enjoy first person shooters. Do you think it would be something someone like me would like?

Hard for me to say! I'm biased cause I do like first person shooter games and the story/characters are big faves for me.

You could always turn on god mode and play the game that way without having to stress about the shootings bits.

For $2.50 honestly I'd say ya got nothing to lose really ^^

Just a warning: I unfortunately don’t have much to say about some of them, whether it’s just that I don’t have strong opinions about them or some other thing.

He might just be my favorite character besides Petal. He’s such a hilarious and chaotic dumbass and I love him.

Ginsburg

Very cool and chill dude, I like him a lot. He seems like the ideal guy to hang out with, it’s a shame he isn’t featured in the show as much as the other characters.

Happy

Love him, love him, love him. He’s such an adorable cinnamon roll. A precious bean, if you will.

King Tubby

I really like him, he’s very silly and goofy. I like his occasional mispronunciations of words, it adds to his character. His various explanations of human behavior are also hilarious.

Last Chance

Poor Last Chance, he deserves better. Still, I appreciate him for putting up with all the physical mayhem. His monotone voice is also very funny, it actually adds a lot of character to him.

Luna

Probably my “least favorite” of the cats, and I put that in quotes because I still like her a little. She’s quite chill but can honestly be kinda annoying at times? It’s not too much of a problem, though.

Miley

Love her, primarily because she’s so relatable. Sometimes when I see her doing or saying something, I’m just like, “Mood.” I really like that despite her sarcasm, she still cares about the others.

Ming

He’s cool, and sometimes makes me laugh. But I especially appreciate that he has serious character development in the show. He goes from being sour about Kitty being in the house to actually caring about her.

Mr. Clean

He’s a cool, very humble guy who is very content with his life. I like him and kinda aspire to have his level of optimism.

The Nazz

Very cool, he’s perhaps the most levelheaded of the cats, so he adds balance to the chaotic nature of a lot of the other cats.

I hate how dirty he was done in the show, though. He only has speaking roles in 2 of 52 episodes in Season 2, and is completely absent in Season 3. His VA was most likely too busy, and I can’t blame him for being that way, but…it’s like they just quietly dropped him from the cast, and it sucks. He deserved better.

Petal

Y’all already know what I think of her. No need to say anything here. ;]

Pierre

Ignoring the fact that he’s French (/j), he’s cool I guess. Like Ginsburg, it’s a shame he isn’t featured much.

Spook

One of my friends to whom I introduced KINAC called him an “anxiety Cheeto,” which is an apt description. (/pos) I love him, he’s precious and should be protected at all costs. I know I talk about very small details a lot, but for some reason I find his prominent lower lip kinda cute. It, once again, adds character.

Thorn

Love her, she slays. She’s kinda cold, but an absolute badass at times. She’s very wine-aunt-coded, and I actually kinda relate to her sometimes. Again, very cool.

Timmy Tom

Lastly is Timmy Tom. Very sweet kid, I like him a lot. I love how despite him being a sort-of hyperactive child (as a lot of us were back then), he still cares very deeply about the others, especially Kitty.

Speaking of Kitty, I might as well share my opinion of her, too. I like her as well! Someone I know said that she is extremely autistic-coded, and I completely agree with them. I wish nothing but the best for her, and all of the cats, actually.

One of the things I highly appreciate about this show is that out of the 16 main characters, all of them are quite likable! They all have charm in their personalities and designs, and because there are a lot of characters, there’s someone for everyone! I’d be friends with every one of them, I consider some of them to be platonic F/Os already, actually.

If y’all haven’t watched the show, btw, I can’t recommend it enough. It’s an extremely cute and wholesome show, guaranteed to put a smile on your face. Highly underrated, highly unappreciated, and deserved so much better.

My favorite band of all time is linkin park, and honestly they always will be. Now I'm sure everyone knows all of their popular songs, but I'm going to go ahead and recommend a criminally underrated album of theirs, which is A Thousand Suns.

Now even though LP is my favorite band they obviously have not been active since 2017, so I'm going to also talk about my favorite band that's still currently active, and my second favorite band of all time. Shinedown!

If you're wondering just how much I love this band, I am about to see them for the fourth time at the end of the month! They are honestly so good live so if you're into rock music and looking for a damn good concert experience, I highly recommend catching one of their shows!

I know the lone star (and og) fandom is at least somewhat aware of them because whoever chooses music for these shows does not know how to miss 😊 and the song they used in the second episode of lone star, how did you love, is one of my favorite songs by them. I literally got so excited when it started playing and started singing along. A very memorable moment for me while watching this show! (I also have a shinedown shirt with the lyrics "every day is do or die" on the back...I promise I am normal about this band 😂)

fun fact: if you've seen me lurking around on my main, leave-a-whisper, that is a reference to their first album! I also reccomend the Sound of Madness album. These two are their two best albums in my opinion!

Three Days Grace and Breaking Benjamin, I grew up listening to these bands! middle school harley practically lived and breathed one-x and phobia.

Halestorm, one of my favorite bands with a female lead. Lzzy's vocals are fucking insane and the music is extremely fun and empowering.

Speaking of amazing female leads, if you're looking for some metal (or just curious about getting into the genre) I really love Jinjer. They are insane live and Tati is a phenomenal vocalist.

I also dabble in prog music. I pretty much grew up listening to bands like Dream Theater and Porcupine Tree. Insane talent in both of these bands. One album I really love and reccomend is Deadwing by Porcupine Tree.

O.A.R, my childhood. My parents introduced me to this band when I was very young and I have loved their music ever since. I can't really compare them to anyone else, but I reccomend listening to songs like heaven and love and memories. Those are a couple of my faves!

I don't really listen to much rap music, but NF is a massive exception. His lyrics are always amazing and the music is just really fun, sometimes really angsty.

Bad Omens, Dayseeker and I Prevail are some good metal bands to get into if it's usually not a genre you'd enjoy. Amazing vocals.

i love love love classical music but honestly i think people have way too many misconceptions about it. there's the popular 'classical music is the height of the auditory art form, it is Superior and others are inferior, it shows the height of western civilization' (not fucking true, duh) and also 'classical music is pretentious and everyone who likes it is stuffy' (also not true :( there are definitely pockets that are pretentious, comes with the territory of music fans LMAO, but it's way more approachable than people give it credit for)

but the one that really gets to me is 'classical music all sounds the same / just study music / sends me to sleep / sounds generic / etc etc' and its so stupid to get that heated about it i know but IT'S NOT!!!!! IT'S NOT TRUE!!!! classical music is what people, alkin people, listen(ed) to, it is highly variable -- yes, it has its realms of conformity and nonconformity (academic art vs surrealists, etc ....) but it is just so vibrant and speaks of so many voices. if classical sounds the same to you you're not listening to classical

again people tend to boil it down to just one thing when classical music is really more of an umbrella term and it is very frustrating. i fully believe there is a niche of classical that can appeal to almost all sorts of music tastes. i get it, it's daunting. that symphony is an hour long, you don't know what minor and major mean, people are using so many big words, wagner is there, but i just wanna sit people down and go pleaese. PLEASE just take a chance on it (abba favorite classical composer)

Survivor 45 Week 10 Winner Rankings

Dee - At this point I find it hard to believe anyone else will win. The Reba 4 have been solid since the beginning and seem to have no intention of breaking. Dee seems the least likely of all of them to break away. Julie and Austin have said they are unwilling to vote out Dee, and likely want to sit at the end with her (dumb on their part, very good for Dee). She’s shown to be controlling the game and she’s great in challenges. Dee has also had a great edit, including an emotional personal backstory and some funny moments. Her path to the end is very clear and I don’t see anyone (except one person) who could beat her.

Emily - There is a gap between Dee and the next few on this list. I find that Emily’s path to the Final 3 is difficult and narrow. She would have to put in some serious work to crack Reba wide open and turn them against each other, which at this point seems like a tough ask. I have Emily at number 2 because I think if she does manage to get to the end, she will 100% win. She is the only person in my mind that can beat Dee. She has a great social game, with pretty much everyone really liking her. Her story of overcoming Lulu and her fantastic character development make it hard for me to see her not getting votes in the end. Plus, if she does make it to the end, that means she pulled off some impressive shit.

Austin - Austin is definitely playing the best game outside of Dee. Despite being a big strong guy archetype and holding an idol, he seems to be flying under the radar. If people are targeting him, the show isn’t telling us. He’s extremely likable, has a strong alliance, and holds that idol that will probably send him to finale night. I hesitate to feel confident in an Austin win because he has had no personal content on the show. We’ve seen a lot of strategy talk from him, but it would be odd if we got personal stories from everyone else but not our winner. Still, he’s in a great position. Seems like the type to send to fire. 

Jake - We are now getting into the territory of castaways I don’t think have much of a shot at winning. Jake would have to pull some stunts to get to the end. It’s not out of the realm of possibility, but I have a hard time seeing him get votes next to anyone else here. As much as I appreciate his desire to play hard and get out big targets, his reads on the game have been terrible and he’s been the backup vote for a while. He would be a goat to bring to the end, and he would only win if the Reba 4 really soured the jury and Jake had a fantastic final speech.

Katurah - She was one of my episode 1 faves and she failed me so quickly. Her entire story and game was all about Bruce. If she could have used her brain for one second and put her hatred for Bruce aside, she could have had a good shot. First of all, nobody likes Bruce, so that’s the kind of person you keep to bring to the end. Second of all, they had a chance to take out a Reba with Bruce’s idol and she just completely threw it away. It could have, and would have, happened if it weren’t for Katurah’s thoughtless gameplay. She seems to not understand that the Reba 4 are just using her and she has no game of her own to speak of.

Julie - Everyone in the game is acting like Julie is some big jury threat. Katurah telling Emily that she’s a “mama” so people will vote for her…when has that ever happened in Survivor? Season 2 with Tina? Julie is Dee’s sidekick. Even if she says she’s playing her own game, she does what Dee says. She wants Dee to sit at the end with her, foolishly. She is good in challenges, which is a plus, but that’s not enough. I think it’s highly likely she sits at the end and doesn’t get any votes because she’s sitting next to better players. Also, her backstory was cut from the show, so that all but guarantees she isn’t winning.

Drew - He thinks a lot higher of his game than I do. He has been shown time and time again in the episodes to fumble social game and relationships. He is definitely Austin’s sidekick–he has the trust of Austin and his alliance but he isn’t the one actually doing the strategic heavy lifting. I see his relationships with people outside of Austin and Emily as pretty weak. And, like Julie, his backstory was cut from the show. I don’t see him getting votes in the end, if he gets there.

Okay, so long story short, Rose~Colored Glasses is my hyperfixation fanfiction.

I’m not sure if you’re in the Hazbin Hotel fandom, but if you know me you know I love fucked up characters.

So of course, the moment an abusive bitch walked on screen, I found myself enamored and filled with the need to pick apart their entire personality (despite them being on screen for less than three minutes total and speaking no lines. At all.) because I love psychoanalysis and frankly, traumatized and terrible people are way more fun to pick apart personality wise for me than anyone mentally healthy.

So what I did after gaining a fixation on this one specific character, going by my mindset of “you weren’t always evil. So what got you there?”, is I broke down every single thing they did that could possibly be a trauma response, located a reasonable kind of trauma for them to have, added on a few headcanons, coping mechanism and personality wise, and then proceeded to fantheorize on his backstory.

Basically, this fanfiction is me being self indulgent and giving this massively fucked up character therapy, because despite the theme of the show being redemption, people get really angry at this character specifically because he’s abusive. (Personally I think I am allowed to like him anyways because everyone else’s faves murder characters on screen during the first 5 minutes. Either all fictional crimes are bad or none of them are. If you can like the cannibal killer I can enjoy the abusive moth thank you very much). So I honestly doubt very highly that he’ll be getting an actual decent storyline, or be made out to be anything more than a one dimensional caricature that is “Angel’s abuser”, before being killed off to the delight of most of the audience. So I’m being nice to myself and exploring the nuances of his character outside of canon :>

Anyways if you’d like to read it, I’ve got like 5 chapters published on AO3 and if you’d like spoilers, I have at least 90% of an outline done and ngl most of it is a character study /lh, so feel free to let me know! I’m always happy to share :DD

ANON THANK YOU FOR ASKING *cracks knuckles* I’ve been waiting for someone to ask this. So the outline of this answer is actually a paragraph I cut out from the post linked above because Triv said I was being too harsh and Champagne Fridays is mostly a joke. Which is true but also if it is as bad as I imagine, it is a really fucked up thing to bring to work. Especially on a film set with heavy equipment and machinery which brings me to my mini thesis on why Champagne Fridays Are Unprofessional AF!

Okay so quick disclaimer, I will say a lot of the timing and excessiveness is speculation based on what I observed in NC’s stories and the way she & her friend-coworkers on set hype it up. Here’s to hoping Bton is ACTUALLY being professional and responsible for once and it’s not as bad as it seems 🤞🤞

For those who do not know, early on during Bton’s production of S3 in August, Nicola started this thing on set called Champagne Fridays. As the name suggests, the cast and crew drink champagne on set on Fridays. From NC’s stories, she and her make up artists are seen drinking it while they do HMU (hair & make up) for her so that indicates the start of the shoot day/in between scenes for touch ups. I have also seen her take story pictures of having champagne with the clapper which tells us she is drinking with the camera crew during takes/lunch break, basically in the middle of the shoot day. 

[More Under The Cut:]

I don't care if it's Friday and TGIF, it's extremely unprofessional to be introducing AND condoning (this is definitely on the Producers too) something called Champagne Fridays and documenting drinking on set at the start and during a shoot day. If I had to compare it to a everyday sort of job: imagine going into the office and drinking at the start, in meetings and on break throughout the day all while vlogging about it 🤡. It’s just not good etiquette or something you do during work. 

As someone who has been trained as a Producer, here is why this is such a hazard to the job and something that Execs and Producers by right should be shutting this down: 

1) Occupational Hazard: With the HMU team, fine they can just mess up her makeup. However with the camera crew, it is highly dangerous as they handle heavy equipment like huge film cameras, heavy lights & stands, and other similar tech equipment that require care and caution. Someone can be seriously hurt if the crew was tipsy/drunk while handling the tech stuff. Not to mention they are VERY expensive so it would cost production even more money to replace it. 

2) Alcoholism: This practice is very exclusive to people who enjoy and can consume alcohol. If the objective is to keep up morale and encourage team bonding, Champagne Fridays has failed in that respect and does a terrible job. It excludes people who may be recovering alcoholics (also potentially triggering relapses), Muslims or anyone else who abstain from drinking for whatever reason and are not comfortable drinking. Especially in a workplace setting. 

2b) While I am sure they moderate, it still does encourage alcoholism and what if someone can't handle their liquor? Their jobs will be sloppy and would have to be redone - once again costing production’s money and wasting everyone’s time (I actually once joked is CF why they are doing reshoots for S3 - I really hope not, that would be so messed up) 

No matter how you cut it, it just seems tacky to be excessively drinking on a weekly basis and encouraging others to do the same while you are all working and supposed to be present and sober! 

This may sound harsh and I may be bias because its Nicola but honestly if anyone else even Simone or Jonny had done it - I would have absolutely had this same reaction and rightfully criticise my faves. (Speaking of Jimone tho, why couldn’t NC have done an ice cream truck too? That was so cute and inclusive of everyone!!) 

I am harsh because this is what was taught to me in Film School. If my team had done this on one of our sets, we would have been suspended and failed the credit. On actual sets here, it would have been an immediate firing. That’s how serious and dangerous involving alcohol on set is. It really is a slippery slope to being a harmful practice that is cause for concern and safety on set. 

After all this being said, I do hope it was aboveboard, moderated drinking and most times done AFTER the shoot was done for the week and they had the next day off. If it was during the shoot days and at the start as seen in her stories, then it is definitely worrying for the reasons mentioned above.

According to Sunday blade committed a ritual / sin which made his body immortal. This lines up with the lore where Dan feng and ying xing did the transmutation arcanum to try to revive bai heng, but the ritual failed and created a very very horrifying monster that Jing Liu had to kill. And also according to Sunday, robin was also killed by a monster. Coincidence? I THINK NOTTTT.

Call me Sherlock Holmes cuz I theorizing left right center up and down.

Oh yea and testing a plane sound cool af, civil engineering doesn’t really have things that exciting but the worst thing is prolly the field surveys. I remember doing a field survey in Australia and it was so forking hot. Like I was dying in the heat and I have no ideas how the workers work in that 😭😭. You also have to survey huge amounts of land and make sure everyone is doing their jobs properly and also talk with the head worker in charge of the other workers. It’s soooo tiring with all the walking and sweating.

We also have some maths but a big chunk of it is physics. And physics lab experiments are certainly fun but I remember a time where I was being super clumsy with the Bunsen burner and accidentally charred my note pad when it slipped out my lab coat pocket onto the fire 😭😭. Was scolded so hard and cooked by the prof.

The rules also say to not move a Bunsen burner if there’s a flask on it but rules are made to be broken 😎😎😎

Truthfully speaking i actually started playing that game after I got like 10 chapters into pure imagination 😭 pure imagination came out about a year ago and then I played piofiore that same year on Christmas (it was gift), anywho... I actually got the inspiration from a YouTube short. I don't remember the short, but it was something along the lines of having 3 love interests for the MC? At the time I was highly invested into hsr and I really really liked dan heng, jing yuan, and blade. And I wanted a story where the three could interact easy without having to jump between worlds so often, so modern au, but I wanted it to be exciting so bam mafia style modern au with a few fantasy bits here and there. Idk, my thought process for making stories is everywhere. Usually when I come up with an idea I just go ahead and write it without a care in the world. Lol

That or I got the inspiration from a YouTube video instead of a short where it was this mafia guy who protected this girl's street for money. Anyway-

Eternal Yesterday

my most recently watched show on this list, and my GOD am I insane about it!! this soft little jbl fills me with so much emotion I start vibrating at incredibly high frequencies if I think about it too much <3 this is one of the only shows I've ever given an actual 10/10 ranking - I don't think there's anything about it that would've been better different. I love it and absolutely recommend it to everyone but also - it's sad! so watch out!

can't have a top five list without the show of all time! msp means a lot to me because it's the first ql where I actively participated in the fandom, but also objectively it's a fantastic show with wonderful characters and a super enjoyable storyline. silly little guys...

Kamisama no Ekohiiki

jbl number two!! what can I say, your girl loves soft dramatic little guys :) kamisama no ekohiiki is truly a ql in the sense that it can't really be classified as a bl, but it's definitely super queer. it's so interesting and uses the trope of body switching (one I usually really dislike) SO well - it also has one of my fave girlies of all time, torii rin <3 this one too I think is a full 10/10, there's nothing I would change about it and I highly recommend!!

oh man. predictable as always huh. well what can I say, I am a complicated tragic realism enjoyer first and foremost, and no one does it like palmnueng!! guys of alllll time, I think about them constantly, they deserve the world. also, we need more mafia and bodyguard bls okay, the 'I would die for you (literally)' is soooo delicious. that said, nlmg for sure has its flaws, so I don't think I'd give it a full ten stars, but it's so incredibly good and its flaws only make it more endearing to me 😌 who up thinking about soft silly angsty little gayboys.........

The Eclipse

last but definitely in no way least, the show of all time!! eclipse holds a super special place in my heart and not just because firstkhao are in it - it's such a beautiful show with some really interesting and three dimensional characters. it's so good it singlehandedly got me back into fic writing so. you get what I mean. the eclipse has its ups (like, most of it) and downs (a few things here and there), but overall scores a really high score on my list! if nothing else the yearning is just. absolutely delicious no notes

15 Ways To Deal With A Toxic Family During The Holidays

Right now many folks are beginning the countdown to their highly-anticipated trip home for the holidays. But if you have a toxic family, visiting relatives isn’t always a joyful or relaxing experience. In fact, it can be downright distressing.

While it can be tough to get through totally unscathed, rest assured there are plenty of ways to handle toxic family members during the holidays. If you choose to go home and are hoping for the best, here are some tips to get you through the season as smoothly as possible.

1. Adjust Your Expectations

Even though it’d be nice if the season was packed with loving, cozy gatherings where everyone laughs and gets along, it may help to go into your holiday with neutral expectations. Think of it this way: “There’s no need to place additional pressure on ourselves or family members to ‘behave better’ during the holidays,” Zeng says, especially since stress runs high this time of year and can put even the most chill relative on edge. It’ll help to brace yourself, so you can be pleasantly surprised if things go well.

2. Don’t Try To Change Anyone

Before you show up with casserole in hand, remind yourself that it’s not your job to change your family. “The likelihood that your problematic relative is going to change this holiday is very low,” says Marjorie Jean, LICSW, LCSW-C, a trauma-informed therapist. They are who they are, and no dinner table chat will get through to them.

While it may sound negative, Zeng says this mental shift is all about preserving your mental well-being. If you release the idea that you need to educate family members or mediate arguments, suddenly it all seems less stressful. Instead, take deep breaths and focus on finding small moments of happiness so you can stay grounded.

3. Plan Neutral Conversation Topics

If your family’s toxicity stems from tough convos, it may help to go into the season with a mental checklist of things you’d prefer to talk about. “It can be helpful to come to gatherings prepared to divert the topic of conversation to a handful of topics that you feel comfortable discussing, or that you know won’t be so controversial among family members,” Zeng says.

The moment a family member starts talking about politics, for instance, ask if they have any fun travel plans coming up, interesting projects at work, or a fave TV show. “Be prepared to steer the conversation away to these safer topics if you find yourself in the middle of a conflict,” Zeng says.

4. Practice Redirecting Tough Convos

You can even practice redirecting problematic convos before the festivities begin. “As strange as it sounds, I encourage people to practice interrupting a conversation with a friend or partner until they feel confident about doing so when needed,” says Peggy Loo, Ph.D., NYS, a licensed psychologist and director of Manhattan Therapy Collective. “We’re often socialized not to interrupt others while they are speaking, but in the context of an unwanted or unhealthy conversation, this might mean we get stuck if we’re waiting for a natural place to jump in.”

Ask a friend to start talking about anything, and then interject with a prepared statement like, “OK, I’d like to talk about something else.” According to Loo, this trick will help you wriggle out of stressful convos so you can spare yourself the toxicity.

5. Politely Decline Pointed Questions

You can also spare yourself by declining to answer unwanted inquiries, however much a family member needles, pokes, or pries. “You can tell them you understand their interest and curiosity about something, but then firmly say that you don’t feel comfortable talking about this topic at the moment,” Zeng says. “If they persist, you can let them know you will be exiting the conversation if they continue.” Again, change the topic and stick to your boundaries.

6. Schedule Games & Activities

Does your family tend to get into an argument the moment there’s nothing better to do? If that’s the case, keep things moving by planning games or activities you can do together. “Whether it’s watching a holiday-themed movie or roasting some marshmallows, look for something that can occupy your time,” Zeng says. “It’ll reduce the opportunity for having difficult and uncomfortable conversations if everyone is engaged in an activity.”

7. Set Time Limits

While exiting a family get-together is often easier said than done, Loo suggests setting boundaries around how much time you’re willing to spend with family or in situations that may not be the healthiest and allowing yourself to leave the moment that time is up.

“This could mean that you choose to stop by a family gathering only for dessert versus an extended meal, or that you give yourself permission to take a break if you’re already spent an afternoon together,” Loo tells Bustle. “Feeling in control of your time can help you manage challenging dynamics because you know there is an endpoint, instead of feeling trapped in interactions.”

8. Check In With Yourself

Throughout the season, make it a point to check in with yourself physically and mentally to see how you’re holding up. “If your heart rate and temperature are up or you’re not thinking clearly, these can be signs to retreat and take a break from the situation,” Zeng says. “Step outside for some air, hide in the bathroom, or go to another room. This can help you check in about any boundaries or limits you may wish to set when you return to interacting.”

9. Create A Relaxing Routine

It may also help to develop a self-care practice that allows you to create some distance from your family and offer a little respite, Jean says. Think about going to the gym, getting to bed early, or taking long walks every morning before you rejoin the get-together.

Being around a toxic family is stressful, and that stress forces your body into a hyper-vigilance mode that can put you on edge and make the whole situation feel worse, Jean tells Bustle. “By setting up a self-care regimen, you are being proactive in regulating your nervous system and body through a difficult time,” she says.

10. Phone A Friend

It may help to lean on a friend — or even a therapist — before, during, and after your holiday, so ask if it’d be OK to reach out with a quick call or text. Loo recommends setting aside time to phone a friend throughout the season so you can fill them in on the details, share a few stories, and maybe bring a little levity to the situation. (Even better if you can talk to them while you go for a relaxing walk.)

11. Suggest A New Tradition

If you know that dinner at grandma’s house always goes downhill, Jean recommends creating new traditions. Invite everyone to your place for drinks, offer to reserve a table at a restaurant, or suggest meeting in the town square to look at Christmas lights. “This may be an opportunity to challenge some cultural hierarchies,” she says. It may also feel good to meet family members in a more neutral territory so those old dynamics are less likely to take over.

12. Stick With Your Allies

If you have one or two family members who aren’t toxic, try to stick by their side. “This can mean finding people at gatherings whom you like interacting with and spending more of your time and energy engaged with them,” Zeng says.

You can slice pie with your cool aunt, take a little cousin for a walk, or watch a movie with your sister-in-law in another room. “If you can, laugh and acknowledge the absurdity of these shared situations together,” Zeng adds. A quick vent may be just what you need to make it out on the other side.

13. Plan An Exit Strategy

Create an exit plan before spending time with toxic family members during the holidays.

If things have gotten so toxic in the past that you’ve actually wanted or needed to leave, then go ahead and create an exit strategy ahead of time. Figure out how you’ll excuse yourself, where else you can stay in your family’s town, or how you’ll get back home. Sketching it out beforehand can create immense peace of mind.

14. Remember It’s Only Temporary

If you notice your stress levels rising, take a deep breath and remind yourself that it’ll all be over soon. “Remember that this environment is temporary,” Zeng says, so look out at the time you have to get through — whether it’s one dinner, one day at home, or one week with guests in your house — and start counting the hours. Even though it may seem like forever, it won’t be that long before your life is back to normal.

15. Ask Yourself If You Really Have To Go In The First Place

There’s often a lot of internal and external societal pressure to spend the holidays with family, Loo says. And while it might have you convinced that you need to travel home, you should feel free to consider the alternatives, especially if you hit a point where the negatives outweigh the positives.

If you really need to step back, it might feel better to stay at your place and send a card, call from a distance via Zoom, or opt out entirely and create new seasonal traditions of your own. If you don’t want to subject yourself to any drama, Loo notes that it’s more than OK to look out for your own best interests, even if you get pushback from family.

The holidays may be a tough whirlwind of a time, but they certainly don’t have to be toxic.
