Shockingly enough, Candlelight won this fight. My little Water caste T'au is getting better at melee, it seems. Maybe all those "practice" fights with Laurie have paid off. Candlelight left this fight with two bruises on her torso, and Andrei had two broken bones in his right leg and a broken left arm.

What if we pushed our Rimworld beds together?

#babbling #I'm still working on it and the many many fucking novels I don't really want to read #but at the same time my dwarves are calling me away from the elfyness #there was a giant red cardinal loose in the mines until it ran into the tavern in a panic and the human merc staying there killed it #I wanted to catch and tame it to make a dwarven aerial cavalry of giant blood-red passerines #now there's dead bird everywhere and nobody actually wanted to do cleaning work and everybody's being sick #possibly because half the work force is severely disabled #because they ran off to beat a giant snapping turtle to death and got limbs torn off #I told them not to fucking go fishing but nnOOooo #that's slowing things down a bit #We spent weeks huddled in a hole in the ground eating raw horseflesh and staring at nothing due to trauma #bleeding through amateurish stiches done by a dying one-handed dwarf with no medical training #while one of the dwarves sat in the other corner carving bone into jewellery while seething with homicidal rage #We have no textiles industry; some of the dwarves are wandering around swathed in bone jewellery and crowns like morbid monarchs #But their clothes are tattered rags clinging to their heavily scarred flesh by threads #the mining team has to double as the militia because they've grown to crave violence for some reason - especially the medical staff #Can't wait for the elven diplomat to turn up and start bitching about the logging industry #Like look you cannibalistic fuck; these dwarves are a hairsbreadth away from descending into berserker-rage and slaughtering us all #I am not making them sleep in the dirt because you oppose me turning the odd tree into a bedframe or a barrel because we are ALWAYS #ALWAYS on the verge of running out of alcohol #...#Either this sounds insane or you know exactly what I'm talking about #I'm going to make a DnD session out of this methinks

my brother, a most pretentious lotr fan, snatched up the extended edition hot off the shelf and for weeks it was the only thing on the tv all day long. I've seen every commentary, every special feature . . . twice. maybe more. I didn't have a choice.

#a butterfly obsesses #I've forgotten so much but still #maybe I just don't hang out with nerdy enough people and the rest of you know all this but:#billy boyd every time Minas Tirith is on the screen: I love Minas Tirith #Dominic Monaghan: shut. up.#sean austin forgot to put his waistcoat on for the scene where they all say farewell to frodo so they had to reshoot the whole thing #everybody had to cry again. but the second recording ended up blurry and they had to reshoot a 3rd time. nobody was happy with sean #when sam shows up to fight shelob his hand and sheathed sword appear first like the start of a duel in a western #that's actually peter jackson's hand #sean austin could 'see' shelob when they were filming those scenes. he could very vividly imagine her.#after he saw some cgi test footage of her he lost the ability to imagine her and had to work to get it back #dominic or billy I forget but one stole a skull from the scenes with the army of the dead #after pirates of the Caribbean came out they had to change the design for the army of the dead because the ghost designs were too similar #they built a huge dead Oliphaunt for the battlefield (peter wanted it to be bigger tho)#the people linking up plastic rings for the chain mail wore away their fingerprints on their pointer fingers and thumbs #they basically thawed a frozen stream so andy serkis could dive in and chase a fish in the ice-cold water #I want to say it was billy boyd who had to get a dental procedure done and opted to do with without being numbed #because he had to shoot a scene right after. however he sweated so much his hobbit feet came off #by the time they were put back on the medication would have worn off anyway #viggo mortensen got part of a front tooth chipped off and wanted to finish the scene before having it fixed but they forced him to go #when auditioning horses for the scene the horse kneels down to let the wounded aragorn get on a horse was disqualified for sit on the dummy #the HUGE ring they used for perspective shots

I wish people who write lotr fanfic didn’t inevitably end up writing low key constant emotional abuse to their blorbo.

#kicking a hornets nest here #but I’ll start reading something lighthearted and wonder I start feeling more and more uncomfortable the further in I get #the Peter jacksonification and what I suspect are culturally W.A.S.P ppl writing fic #without having read the books or. rely on period dramas for world building #idk it just ends up creating what feels like something deeply insidious masqarading as some teen fixit fic where everybody lives #and then I feel insane and overly sensitive for wanting half the shire Gandalf thranduil and 2/3ds the dwarves & bilbo to kill them selves #bc I cannot fathom how a any fuckjng says that b why would let someone say or do something like that to you #and then I realize it’s. it’s the same reylo #it’s the same 50 shades of grey mentality type stuff #I hate to assume anything about anyone’s identity over one fic. but be fr. either you genuinely believe this is normal or you’re writing #you’re writing it for plot reasons. and like. that’s how you advance the plot? Skitch is the ACNH player that runs around smacking people with their bug catching net while Wanda gives the best gifts ever. Also I could totally see Skitch being like filthy rich in the game cause of all the fish and bugs and being like “hold on baby I got you” and just dropping off a bunch of bells on Wanda’s island and running away to go harass her villagers.

Skitch is deadass a menace with the net 😂

But yeah, Wanda definitely gives s-tier gifts in-game. I think one of the only things Wanda focuses on collecting herself are the nook miles that come with the different achievements, but bells are never an issue with Skitch funding her bell bank account 💀

Khare is an obligate carnivore. Due to the nature of her mutated physiology, organic matter is essential to maintaining her health and genetic stability, preventing her from mutating further. If she cannot ingest biological material on a regular basis, her body will start turning on itself, the mutation taking what it needs from it's own host instead of that of other lifeforms.

I had Victor start in immediately with the magic, using Repairio on one of the flower arrangements in the front window to see what it did to the plants -- it DID increase their quality, but it did NOT do anything about their level of freshness that I could see (that is, it made the whole thing a better bunch of flowers, but it did not do anything about how wilted it was). Good to know, I suppose! I also had him catch the stink bugs that had started congregating outside the front windows -- can't have THOSE annoying customers! And you never know when you might need them for herbalism...

-->Anyway -- with that sorted, let's go over everyone's store jobs:

Smiler got banished to the dock to fish for a good chunk of the day (even when it started snowing -- it was only a little bit and not for long!), to help add some fish to the fish freezer I'd added earlier. They caught a cichlid, an angelfish, a couple of tunas, a tilapia, and a perch, which is not a bad haul! And I figured out which option on the fish freezer lets you mass-store fish – though I actually can't recall the exact label at this point in time. ^^; Something like "fresh ingredients!" Also lets you mass-transfer meat and eggs, which is nice. :)

Alice, naturally, got put on canning duty -- specifically, oversize conserve duty! I had her use up a bunch of the oversized produce in her inventory making jars of mushroom, aubergine, lettuce, pumpkin, and watermelon conserve to put on the shelves next to the canned green beans, canned green peas, and bottles of dried sage. It felt like the most appropriate place for them! Don't worry, though, she got a few breaks -- mostly because the werewolf instincts demanded she go outside for a bit and let out a Somber Howl to keep the Fury low. Gotta keep that inner beast satisfied!

And Victor was just all over the place, doing every job the other two couldn't -- making more boxes and bottles of dried sage to fill in that area; making more loaves of banana bread to fill out the bakery section; brewing up some more perfume in Inspiring scents for that endcap; and of course hitting everything he could with Copypasto to fill in gaps on the shelves. Seriously, that spell is the most useful thing on the PLANET -- it is so OP and I never want that to change. XD Copy every freaking jar of preserves you can, Victor! I just wish you could copy the mod-added stuff too!
