3 ships: Three isn't many, so I'll shine some light on ships I seldom mention (everybody knows I'm a Destiel shipper, let's move on).

Edmund Reid/Homer Jackson, Ripper Street. This is a great show and every character is dear to my heart. Dr. Jackson has the style and casualness necessary to loosen up that stuck-up Detective 😏

Ross Poldark/George Warleggan, Poldark. I like the canon pairings but I love hatesex and toxic relationships in fics, so...

Jack Aubrey/Stephen Maturin, The Aubrey-Maturin series. One of the greatest book series of all time (and I say that sincerely) blessed us with one of the most beautiful ships in fandom history, and nobody knows about it! Well, everybody who's read the books knows. This is a beautiful relationship and I aspire to share that much love, affection and care with someone someday. Seriously, give these books a shot. Or the movie, at least.

First ever ship: McDanno, Hawaii Five-0. I started watching this show in 2011, when I was 12. I didn't know what fandoms or ships were, I barely knew I was queer, and I didn't put words on what these characters and their relationship made me feel. Then I went through queerbaiting with SPN and I was paranoid. Were they really..., or was I just seeing what I wanted to? But now, 11 years later, I can come back to it as an adult and say that Steve McGarrett and Danny Williams are desperately gay for each other, and I can write about it.

Last song: 85, Andy Grammer. I need me some good vibes and repetitive fast beats.

Last movie: I think it was Soldier's Girl? The past weeks are a blur.

Currently reading: Fanfics, mostly! I don't have the energy for books at this time and paused The Traitor Baru Cormorant weeks ago (I'm sorry, Minnie). But it's all good because I'm discovering the fic landscape I'm now posting in and that's a good thing to do.

Currently watching: The tenth and last season of Hawaii Five-0 (slowly, painfully, joyfully, shaking my head at its awful politics) and a lot of video essays and Call Me Kevin playthroughs to help me sleep.

Currently consuming: nothing, I'm spending the morning in bed and I can't be bothered to go to the kitchen.

Partners/best friends/Ohana. Lieutenant Commander + Detective. Everybody knows that they're an old married couple. Even the bad guys ship them!

Why the ending of the series finale felt off for many of us (and what PL could have had really in mind) - Aphorisms

As you can easily see from the photos, season 11 was a safe bet, as was a new team member, McCole. What could have been, it says, written by Justin, the wife of Alex stunt/stand-in double. I'm going to play the advocatus diaboli.

In the penultimate episode of H50, Lenkov created a new character. He was sort of based on Steve, but also not. As it turned out in the last episode, Cole and Steve also had a mutual friend: Catherine. Why does that not really surprise us? The rumor mill was really churning, and it was a given that PL was definitely going to bring her on board. So, without further ado, he made her a key person. She was the one who cracked the ominous code that Doris had left for her son. Question, couldn't Jerry have done that just as well?

Anyway, PL set up Cole and Steve. But the chemistry - for us - wasn't really there. They could have just as easily put anyone next to Steve. PL built on the military past of the two (what else) and finally the common denominator: Catherine. Oh, how original. NOT. If you look at this constellation, you can already guess where this was going. But there remained this one obstacle: Danny.

Well, no problem, Lenkov thought and had him kidnapped without further ado. All planned because of all the great McDanno moments we got to see in season 10. So appropriately for lulling, even if these moments did not have nearly as much heart as in previous seasons, but hey, the fans would swallow and relish it, PL thought.

Then came the obligatory threatening call from Daiyu Mei (note the clever pun ala Yoda: die you may...), and the drama unfolded. The whole thing was further clarified by the words of Wo Fat's ex: "I have the person you care about most in the world." Bummer, as she is not talking about Catherine but Danny. Queerbaiting at its worst. Then comes the usual. And during the escape attempt, Danny, who is already half-dead, gets shot. So far, so good, or not.

Danny's injuries could have easily been fatal. So now I'm going off the premise and just claiming that this was PL's original plan. Why? PL did mention at one point that he could imagine H50 without Steve or Danny, but he certainly wasn't stupid enough to believe that. It was nothing more than a smoke grenade. But what PL had wanted for a long time was the end of McDanno. He preferred another ship. But while McDanno sailed blithely across the seven seas, PL's fav ship never left the harbor. But now, he had the ultimate opportunity with a new, equal partner at Steve's side (Book'em Cole), who also pulled Catherine out of a hat.

PL's heart did somersaults. What a great plan that was. Alex didn't say anything about really wanting to quit, even after the series ended. While he had been open about his departure after season 7, there was no need to hide this fact now in season 10. And as you can easily see, all signs were pointing toward season 11. What PL didn't count on was the massive resistance from CBS.

In contrast to PL, they had no problems with Scott/Danny or McDanno. They knew that this was the heart and soul of the show. And PL's protector Moonves was no longer available because he had been kicked out of the network. So PL's back was against the wall. And nothing and nobody could change that. Too bad, because actually, PL had everything perfectly planned.

Danny would either die on the way to the hospital or later in the hospital. This would lead Steve to a massive revenge attack, which should have ended in a brilliant showdown (brilliant for PL, not necessarily for the fans), but Daiyu Mei escapes eventually. Then, Steve would have been driving around aimlessly. We were possibly shown some flashbacks, only to end up at Casa McGarrett, where Catherine would have already been waiting for him. Nice reversal of the goodbye scene from season 6.

The conversation between Steve and her would have been similar to Danny's, except that it wouldn't have been about his parents, but about Danny and that he just can't take it in Hawaii any longer. Too much reminds him of his dead friend. Steve also wanted to pay his final respect and bring him back home to Jersey. Of course, Catherine suggests joining him. What else? Now that one ship sunk, PL could easily replace it with HIS fav ship. And because Cole has done so well, Steve also entrusts him with the task force's leadership. Before Steve leaves to accompany Danny on his last journey, he hands Cole his credentials.

Steve and Cath stand next to each other at the airport and watch as Danny's coffin is loaded onto the plane. Then they board the plane together, ending with them holding hands as we know it. Fade out, season 10 ends.

How would it have continued in season 10? Danny's funeral would have happened off-screen, like so many other pivotal scenes. Steve would have maybe spent an episode or two mulling it over and then returned to Hawaii to hunt down Daiyu Mei with Cole and the team, which now included Catherine.

So much for Lenkov's wet dream, um, plan. However, because CBS knew that McDanno was the heart and soul of the series, they found this idea more than lousy and turned PL down. We could imagine that Alex also threw in that he would certainly not continue without Scott. There was a short back and forth, and it was decided to cancel the show. So we've come full circle to the sloppy, heartless execution of the last episode and the absolutely meaningless words PL put in Steve's mouth as a result. Due to lack of creativity and apparent lack of time, the deadline seemed to be predetermined, considering how quickly the soundstages at Diamond Studios were obliterated.

The crew was equally surprised when PL succinctly informed them that there would be no season 11. See the post from an angry crew member on IG.

Can we prove any of this? Nope, but it's the only reasonable explanation for why the show ended the way it did. Namely, completely illogical, with a Steve who was more than just off the rails. At the very beginning of the series, Steve gives completely different reasons for staying. If you do a rewatch, you'll see.

Everybody knows that you don't solve problems by running away. You don't get rid of the weight that you carry around with you. Steve may be a stubborn mule, but one thing he has never been: self-centered. And if Danny was really the most important thing in the world to him, as Mei said, then he wouldn't have dumped him in the end. Because that's what you do when you really love someone, you stay and fight against all odds. Especially when someone is in a bad place, like Danny, who has just jumped from the brink of death.

You don't suddenly go on a self-realization trip and kick the person who's already lying on the ground. But that's exactly what Steve did. At least the way PL wrote the part. The man must have really lost it when he wrote those lines. I'm sure he was enjoying pure schadenfreude.

And if you take a close look at the two protagonists, you can clearly see the reluctance with which they shared it all with the audience. There was no more room for any affectionate ad-lib actions that we knew from before. They could only stubbornly reel off what was in the script. PL would have done well to sit down with Scott and Alex and find a common solution instead of imposing his version on them and the audience. That's what people with integrity do, but the man never any.

In our opinion, the show's ending ranks among the dumbest and most unimaginative of all time. Rarely a person manages to drive a show against the wall in such a way and at the same time assassinated the main characters. PL shouldn't be proud of it. He should rather stand in a corner and be ashamed of himself.

And now you can go ahead and bash us, or just ignore the whole thing and keep on scrolling. Thank you for your time and for letting us share our thoughts with you.

‪So, I have many thoughts about the finale ending that I haven’t even sorted out my feelings about yet BUT posts on here have helped me see the positives in the ending...Yes I’m still bothered by some of the beach conversation and the TIMING of Steve’s temporary leave and the fact of what we see last on the screen despite knowing Steve will of course return, but I’m going to put that aside to focus on OMG WE JUST GOT AN ALMOST WHOLE EPISODE STRAIGHT FROM A FANFIC THAT I ABSOLUTELY LOVED. I know much of this has been discussed so I apologize if it’s repetitive, but a bunch of my favorite McDanno fanfiction tropes just actually happened in canon and I just...still can’t believe we actually got all of it? So I wanted to make my own list, and feel free to add on or expand or share your thoughts about any of these!! Let’s take stock (warning, this is long!): ‬

‪-Danny calling Steve in distress, Steve immediately leaving his important cipher mystery meeting to get to him. Can already see Steve starting to freak out before the gunshots ring out when he looks out the window and stutters. ‬

‪-Gunshots ringing out OVER THE LINE, and Steve very obviously starting to panic. Drives like a maniac (still confused on how going INTO oncoming traffic was supposed to help but I digress). Steve yelling Danny’s name repeatedly desperate to hear his voice‬

‪-arriving at a burning camaro, screaming Danny’s name (fun tip: play this bit in slow motion!), and STICKING HIS ARM IN A BURNING CAR/catching himself on fire when he thinks Danny could be inside‬

‪-You can hear the creeping desperation/emotion in Steve’s voice as he’s giving orders to HPD (“Detective Danny Williams-MY PARTNER-you know who he is”)‬

-Steve actually mobilizing the whole island to find his Danno. (Again, something I never really expected to see outside of a fanfic). “I want every person on this island with a badge looking for Danny Williams”‬

-Steve’s face when he walks into HQ with Cole and the tears in his eyes when Tani is showing him the kidnapping footage ‬

‪-Just the whole “An enemy of Steve’s uses Danny to get to him”!!!! I always wanted it but never expected it so explicitly ‬

‪-“I HAVE THE PERSON YOU CARE ABOUT MOST IN THE WORLD.” GUYS—IT DOESNT MATTER WHATEVER ELSE HAPPENS BECAUSE THIS IS CANON BABY. We knew it, everybody knows it, but now it’s confirmed. When rewatching the series, remember this<3 also part of me is like, will all the other criminals hear about this and try to do the same when Steve comes back since Steve put up no fight in giving in to Dayui Mei’s demands? Isthiswhyheleftsoquickly‬.

-video footage of Danny strung up and bloodied...fanfic come to life. Steve’s face when he sees this....‬

‪-Steve looking like he’s gonna simultaneously collapse, panic, and murder someone when Dayiu Mei is asking him what he will do‬

‪-Steve not hesitating to give into Mrs. Wo Fat’s demands bc any risk is too risky when Danno is involved‬

‪-The team trying to get Steve to give a flying fart about the cipher when Danny’s life is on the line and Steve still not giving a flying fart. ‬

-Steve finding Danny lying helpless on the floor. His whispered “Danny” when he first sees him (you have to listen close for this because the dramatic background music is super loud at this point).‬

‪-His little stream of soft, comforting reassurances as he’s getting Danno to the car. Danny holding onto him‬

‪-CRADLING BLOODIED, STRUGGLING TO-BREATHE-DANNO TO HIS CHEST IN HIS ARMS. My mom, who doesn’t ship McDanno romantically but loves their friendship, when this happened: “whoa! That’s a little much (gay), don’t you think?” Hehe, no, it’s perfect. ‬

-More tears from Steve as he’s holding Danny on the way to the hospital.‬

-Steve’s comforting reassurances and refusing to let go of Danny on the gurney until he’s absolutely forced to. DANNY REACHING FOR HIM, Steve’s reassuring pat. Steve’s face as he looks down at him fearing how dire this is.‬

‪-Steve’s face as he collapses against the wall when they roll Danny through the double doors, closing his eyes, trying to calm his breathing as he tries to avoid thinking about the unthinkable.‬

-STEVE BARGAINING WITH GOD FOR DANNY’S LIFE. After not seeing him pray before I don’t think? His face...that emotion...omg. He very obviously can’t imagine living in a world without Danny in it, and would rather die than do so. ‬

-Side note: Imo, Steve seemed closed off to the team—physically and emotionally—when he wasn’t sure Danny would make it. Almost as if we got a glimpse of the Steve he’d be without his Danno, if that makes sense. Notice how he’s turned away from them in the waiting room/chapel, how he didn’t even look at them when Danny was wheeled away through the double doors. How he didn’t give an eff about the cipher they were trying to get him to care about. Not that he doesn’t have beautiful Ohana bonds with the other team members because of course he does, but...it’s just different with Danny and I don’t know how he would’ve made it through this one, especially considering his already struggling state at the time. I think we kind of saw a glimpse of that, is my point. They both helped each other grow since first meeting, and it was almost like that part Danny helped bring out in Steve went away with Danny when Steve thought he might lose him. If that makes sense? More on this later? ‪

‪-Steve holding unconscious Danny’s hand❤️❤️❤️ Closing his eyes and letting out a deep breath right after taking his hand (anyone want to gif this moment? ;) )-side camera view of this moment so was hard to see but it’s there. Seeming to look at the machines for reassurances that Danny is alive, healthy. Scanning him over and likely feeling guilty for the marks on his body. Holding his head in his hands by Danny’s bedside.‬

‪-the whole conversation when Danny wakes up! Danny, probably a little doped up, all sweet and reassuring and cuddly and funny. “Why’d you stop holding my hand?” and Steve immediately taking his hand back and rubbing his forearm I think (this was out of the camera angle tho so idk for sure). Steve’s voice tinged with so much emotion when he says “Buddy.” And, Steve being emotionally vulnerable/open again bc his Danno is back!! This whole scene I just fhdisksml. ‬

‪-Steve’s smiling and squeezing and wrapping his arms around Danno like an octopus when he hugs him (I wish we had some additional slightly different camera angles of this hug-as was shown in the promo for example-but I digress again). Danny closing his eyes for a moment, seeming to savor it. Steve getting Danny to look him in the eyes to tell him he loves him. To me, this scene had a very “see you again soon” rather than “goodbye” vibe even though I wish there were parts of the dialogue that were different. ‬

‪-Steve slowing down, looking unsure, and turning back to look at Danny before he leaves. Anyone wanna analyze this? Maybe just a “I know I need to do this so I can come back and be the person I need to be for both of us but fuqqit imma miss you while I’m gone” or “I need to leave so no one can use/hurt him to get to me again right now.” Or just “hey maybe this isn’t the most genius plan.” Idk, but I would LOVE to hear Scott and Alex’s take on this scene. Also they filmed this scene before the show was ended by CBS so who knows how that factored into it. If they thought there would be a possible reunion later?

‪-Telling Eddie to look after Danno, which definitely means Danny will be keeping his house/bed warm til his hubby returns.‬

‪-fleeting thought I have that I might expore later: possible acting choices in the difference in hand holding/smiles between with Danny vs. Catherine?Notthepointofthispostthosoweskipfornow‬

‪-I might post thoughts on other things later but I mainly just wanted to compile this list of straight-out-of-fanfic moments that 100% confirms Danny IS the most important person in Steve’s life and OF COURSE he will return and text/call him everyday til then. Regardless of the end, which is really so open that we can do so many beautiful things with now, most of the episode served as a beautiful culmination of what Steve and Danny have come to mean to each other throughout the last 10 years, and we can rest peaceful and happy in that. ❤️‬ (this is also me still trying to convince myself to be okay with the way things were left on the beach/the conversation, etc)

Coming Out Fic + The Big Damn Kiss

Okay, so Steve says his goodbyes to everyone and heads to the airport. Danny is still sitting out on the beach and Tani comes out and asks him if he’s okay. He says no. There was a lot he didn’t tell Steve while he was here, because he couldn’t, and now Steve’s leaving, so he’s missed his opportunity.

Tani isn’t exactly sure what Danny needs to tell Steve, but she’s onboard. She says, “Not yet you haven’t!”

She gets Danny in her car, and Junior comes too and the put on the lights and sirens and haul ass across town to the airport. Danny’s still recovering from being shot, so he can’t run, but Junior gives him a piggy back ride and all three of them catch up to Steve just before he’s going to go through security. 

Steve’s like, “What’s going on, guys?”

Junior puts Danny down and he and Tani look at Danny, and Danny can’t figure out what to say, so he just grabs Steve and kisses him, right there in front of everybody.

Then Danny lets go and says, “That’s it. That’s all I had to say.”

Steve shakes his head and laughs and asks, “Is this you coming out, Danno?”

Danny says, “Sure, yeah. Whatever. Will you stay?”

Steve looks around for a moment and then says, “Yeah. I’ll stay.”

Give me a ship + two tropes and I’ll tell you how I’d mash them together.

McDanno in front of suspect's salad - every damn time:

• they have that Big Talk with a suspect but after every few sentences they feel a need to look at each other intensely

• a suspect sits in front of them and suddenly they feel a need to touch each other or they pretend they're arguing (cause it's sexy + it's a good excuse for some extra touching)

• they ask suspect about important things but after hearing the answer they suddenly have their goofy time together, they make jokes or just generally have fun, like "Hey, babe, do you remember how I threw that guy into a cage with sharks?"/"Oh yeah, hahahah"

• a suspect talks to them and they can hear/are focused but they're also so busy flirting with each other and/or are very very sweet to each other (say compliments f.e.) and all around is suddenly so sweet

• a suspect is still there (handcuffed or not yet) but these two dorks are now focused on their private life, like "Hey, how's Gracie?"/"Still sad that I couldn't watch that Barbie cartoon with her but I'm gonna make her the best pancakes ever so...". Or: "Ugh, my stomach!"/"Ha! I told you: don't eat this shit! But don't worry, babe. This time I WILL drive us to home and um, I'll give you a hot massage. I mean... I'll give your belly a hot massage, I, um, I will use hot stones!"

They usually talk about their Ohana and feelings (oh the episode where Steve comes back to Hawaii with Wo-Fat and Danny is like "Cargo pants! I knew it!" and "Steve. Did you miss me, babe? Ha?! Cause I missed you! Come on, hug me!" and Wo-Fat is like "WTF is happening here"). But it can be literally about everything: tickets for the game, medical appointment, shopping, weather...

I can't with our boys but especially with their suspects having the most confusing time of their life 😂 All these guys at first are like "Oh shit, cops!" and they expect some talking, all that serious police jazz, maybe some threatening but soon they all see and hear McDanno being McDanno and they're like "WTF? Are these cops serious? Is this some hidden camera show or what? Do they know they're at work and they should be professional? Do they remember about their suspect?!".

Suspect: Ahem. I'm still here, you know.

McDanno: *being McDanno*

Suspect: Hello? Officers? *Oh no, I'm like the air now, they don't see me* *Oh, fuck, they're doing this again! Come on men, it's too intimate, I don't feel comfortable you know. You need a room and I shouldn't be in that room with you, you get it?*

Oh and the episode where Steve and Danny played basketball with prisoners and prisoners were like "Yo, you're fucking married!"? Sure, they had eyes, they noticed it all. But I bet that they knew. They knew it before seeing our boys. All prisoners know - from other prisoners (guys booked by Danno and Steve). You go to jail = you hear about McDanno, they're legendary.

1. how long have you been into h50?

literally for only a few months, since around march i think. i saw a few episodes on tv, liked it and went to search it up. ended up binging the entire 10 seasons in the span of 3 months.

3. the character that makes your blood boil

catherine, hands down. she’s twisted, playing for her own agenda and despite her claims that she loves and cares for steve, i sure didn’t see it one time. she was cute in the first two seasons, but ever since i just saw her character rot more and more and ruin everything that could have possibly make steve happy. she fucked him up one too many times and that ending with her and steve all of a sudden appearing to be a thing again? no thank you.

5. favorite underrated character that you miss dearly

noelani! i feel like we didn’t get enough of her ever since she first appeared, and my god i miss her face so so so much! she’s adorable and not nearly enough in five-0 for my liking. i really wish she had more screen time, even though i know she did appear a lot in sister shows.

10. favorite episode

this is a tough one, because there’s just so many that were so damn good, but if i’d have to choose just one out of the many that are dear to me, it’s 07x08, grace’s winter formal. besides the episode being filled with the obligatory action, i love it because it shows danny as the worried dad he is, not just to grace but to will as well, and seeing steve care so much for danny’s and grace’s safety is so damn heartwarming and it shows just how much he’s an honorary williams just like the williams’ are honorary mcgarretts! plus the mcdanno ship almost sailing when everybody was saved... just too good to pass up on!

12. insight on h50 that you always wanted to share but were shy or unsure

i don’t think there’s anything among those lines since i’m pretty vocal ( more in ooc discussions than on tumblr ) about my opinions about the show, but the one thing that i think i never addressed in ooc convos is that catherine is a very overrated character in the later seasons and that her presence post season 4 seems just forced. it’s like the whole purpose of her character is just to stir shit up and once shit hits the fan, she disappears and just leaves pain and bitterness behind. her character as a whole could have been executed a lot better in my opinion.

14. mr pickles or eddie?

i very much want to protest about this choice because it’s impossible to make a choice! it’s the ‘ my heart says yes but my mind says no ‘ type of deal, where i as a cat person say mr. pickles, but eddie is such a cuddly good boy that it’s hard to say no to him! both. my choice is both.

21. something practical you learned from the show

the most practical thing i learned would be that hawaii is an incredibly beautiful place more than worth visiting and experiencing all the locations myself! other than that it’s that one should never piss off mcgarrett, or hang people off roofs. the last thing honestly isn’t practical but more a life lesson, and that family isn’t just our relatives. it’s our closest friends that know us better than we do ourselves, and that will stick with us no matter what happens.

23. favorite villain

the wright brothers. at first i thought that ian was just a one episode thing since everything indicated towards it, but the episode delivered and it’s such a twisted concept of your normal type of villain we usually got to see in the show. it was refreshing, and the way they brought the idea back in season 8 with aaron was very well done! 

32. your fondest fandom memory

i’m a person who tends to stay out of fandoms in terms of actively participating in discourse, be it on tumblr or or any kind of forum or social media platforms. in the years i’ve been on tumblr, ranging from the once upon a time fandom to the 100 ( albeit for a short time because holy jesus is that fandom toxic ), i’ve learned that the fandoms ( and here i don’t mean the rpc ) tend to go batshit insane when it comes to ships, certain characters and the likes, so for my sake i tend to stay away from such things in general. however, the one thing i hold dear to heart when it comes to the fandom is that it allowed me to find friends within the rpc who i can share ideas and thoughts with and swoon over characters at any given moment!

54. one hawaiian word you like very much

ohana. i’ve elaborated a bit on that in one of the previous questions and kind of touched on it in the second to last question as well, but ohana as a hawaiian word is something i hold very dear to my heart. i’ve met people on here that at this point in time i consider to be my ohana, people who i have connected with a lot and people who i know will always be understanding and never judge me for anything. i’m incredibly grateful for them!

i really enjoy the intimacy involved in acts of service, and there’s always something so small and treasured about shaving,,,the trust involved in letting someone that close to your face with a knife, the intimacy in being no more than a couple of breaths away from each other, the faith that the other person won’t fuck up your face by giving you a weird shave -- i just love the layers to shaving someone else,,,and i just had to make it buckytony. this is a really short fic (as most of my fics are) but i really love it

2. broken pieces (me and you) fit together perfectly - samrhodey, mcu, developing relationship, post IW, 1.5k, K+

AU-gust Day 5: Post Apocalyptic AU

i really enjoy samrhodey, i really enjoy the idea of Rhodey only being a couple year’s ahead of Sam and Sam having a big crush on him, i really like the idea of both of them bonding when they join the Avengers post AoU, i really like the idea of this simple, easy relationship developing between them in this very soft and understated way, but ive never actually written them before this fic - which is why im so proud of this fic, because i like the story ive weaved here

Thor Odinson, Crown Prince of the Realm of Asgard, Brother of Loki the Silvertongue, son to Frigga the Kind and Odin the Great, was known for a great many things.

He was known for his great looming stature, stranding tall and proud even for an Asgardian, with muscles that rippled and tensed as he walked. He was known for his illustrious hair, a thick blond mane that he'd taken a vow to never cut, braided and cascading down his shoulders in thick waves. He was known for his might on the battlefield, for the terror he struck through the heart of his enemies when he called lighting itself down to rain fire on those who dared oppose him.

He was known for being a gentle prince, for always having an ear open and the time for a pitcher of ale. He was known for the bond he had with his brother Loki - how the two of them had curled around each other at birth, his tiny fist clenched around his brother's equally tiny pinky, and never let go.

But more than any of that, Thor Odinson was known for never taking a Consort, in all his years.

AU-gust Day 9: Royalty AU

Ostensibly, this is a thortony fic, but i really like this fic because of the relationship i wrote for Thor and Loki. i do hope to continue this some day, to expand this verse into a couple of related one shots that show Thor and Tony’s relationship overtime, and develop more on Thor and Loki as brothers because i think we were really robbed of that in the mcu - but this is one of my better AU-gust fills, for sure

4. the things we tell ourselves in the dark - stevetony, emh, skrulls, angst, 1.1k, K

“Still,” he turns away from Tony, because he doesn’t want to hurt him, but if he doesn’t get this out, it might eat him alive, “I was with them for months Tony. Months. How did you not notice? How did you not know it wasn't me?”

this is one of the few stevetony fics ive written all year, because ive sort of fallen out of love with the ship but emh brought it back in full force. i wrote this entire fic in 20 minutes literally the second i finished the Secret Invasion episode because there was such delicious angst and it begged to be written, and im so happy with how this turned out. i personally, am always quite worried that characters sometimes sound OOC in my fics, but i definitely didn’t have that issue with this fic, and i just really enjoyed writing it

5. 1000 lives (for you) - buckytony, mcu, soulmates AU, tws compliant, 14.7k, T

On the 10th of December 1991, the Asset is taken out of cyro, and there is a name on his right wrist.

On the 16th of December 1991, he is sent out to shoot the tyre of a car, and then kill the man and woman inside.

When he returns to base, there is a boy, no older than 17, chained to the wall of his room, shivering and bravely fighting back tears.

It does not occur to the Asset until much later than these two events are connected.

this is currently my largest fic till date, and it is such a labour of love. i don’t think ive ever worked this hard, or this long on a fic, and it’s definitely the fic i am the most proud of from 2020. im having so much fun writing this, and im really hoping that everybody reading this is really enjoying it too because i have so many ideas for this verse and it’s possibly one of my favourite things ive written ever -- not just this year

“I know I say this a lot,” Danny’s voice is still gruff with sleep, and he peers at Steve with one eye, as if opening both is too bright for him. He’s half twisted so he can face Steve, and the show of flexibility isn’t helping with Steve’s mission to keep things PG-13, “but today - you are literally a pain in my ass.”

i very recently got into hawaii 5 o, but i truly love these idiots with all my heart and soul, and it’s been so long since i immersed myself in a new fandom or wrote for any other characters, so i wanted to celebrate that by choosing my favourite h5o fic from this year. the thing about mcdanno is that they really do write themselves, and there’s so much potential with them that a lot of what i write is stuff you can truly imagine just happens off screen on the show. anyway, Danny is always calling Steve a pain in his ass, and i just thought it would be funny if Steve was literally a pain in this ass, and then this small one shot happened

McDanno, pining Danny headcanon

Everybody is saying that Steve is IN love with Danny, especially because of the last episode, and maybe he is, but I also think Steve is the one who doesn’t want to talk about it because he can’t handle a romantic relationship. And Danny doesn’t want to push it, so he uses banter to diffuse the situation. 

Poor Danny has been worried sick about Steve for years, but Steve can’t accept it because he needs to do what he needs to do, and that means risking his life almost once an episode. If Danny really loved him, Danny would have left him, like Catherine did, like Lori, like his mom, even like his dad who shipped him away so he’d be safe. 

But Danny has stuck around, and it’s taken Steve years but he knows he needs Danny too, which is why he freaked out at the idea of Danny retiring. And maybe it’s selfish of Steve, but he can’t quite let Danny go, but he also can’t quite give him what he wants, because he doesn’t understand what it is to be loved, he’s scared of it, of being his mother, making people depend on him when he could disappear at any moment. 

It does crop up, from time to time. Danny telling Steve to pick a base after Steve rescued them at Grace’s prom. Steve chose hug. And Steve tries to express his feelings as best he can when they’re in life-threatening situations, but Danny can’t bear to hear it since nothing will change if they do somehow survive. 

All Danny wants is to grow old with Steve. All Steve knows how to do is work.

Hey, everyone,

This isn’t my first Tumblr, but I’m trying to do a new thing here: getting to know more people.

I am really bad at this in RL and I refuse to let that continue online as well.

This could get longer, so’ll put the rest under a cut 

Now, it’s not that I don’t have any friends, but the few I have are exactly that, very few, and recently they mostly appear in pairs :D I don’t begrudge them their relationship, but only meeting happy couples as a single get’s tiring as well, maybe someone knows what I mean, here.

And I want people to talk with again more, and fangirl about one of the many things I like! Which is hard to find with 28, I have to say. Sometimes it feels like I am the oldes Fangirl in history! (Which I assume isn’t true?)

Anyway, Tumblr seems to be like THE place to look for fangirls or boys?

Anyone out here to talk Marvel? Love Tony, among other. Hawaii Five-0? Suits (Am only in the third season so far v.v)? White collar? Lord of the Rings? Harry Potter? Brooklyn Nine Nine? Starsky&Hutch? Dukes of Hazzard? MASH? Star Trek? NCIS (Don’t know the whole show though). Hm, what else.. older Animes/Manga (I have to admit, I am really not up to date with the stories young ones read and watch nowadays in that category :D) I love the old stuff though. Like, uhm, Dragonball! loved that, or One Piece or Kenshin, Digimon, Beyblade or even Sailor Moon, yes, liked that too, it’s a classic.

Yeah ok, there is so more I like I swear, but total blackout right now.

I’m also become a shipper,something I would have never expected of me, but I know that’s not everybody’s thing, of course. so not talking about that is fine, too.

Ship though, there is McDanno, or Stony (even though Cap:CW threw a muddy blanked over my ship right now, I still like them very much (In story’s and stuff that don’t even mention Civil War :D)) I would also admit that I ship Tony with pretty much everyone Ok, well, not everyone, but a lot of people :D

Besides shipping, I don’t know why, but I lover brotherly relationships and also very much father/son.

There are of course also other topics to talk about, beside shows, movies and books, but well, that topic brought me here, so I don’t know right now what else to suggest :D But I’m open to talk about other stuff, of course :)

Oh, and I’m from Germany, so don’t look at my text to closely or the mistakes might kill you. Come talk to me in Englisch or German :) Other languages are also an option, but we’ll have to live with google translator, then :D
