It’s always been weird to me that while the Fab Five (Dick Grayson, Donna Troy, Wally West, Roy Harper and Garth) are rightly too old for the Teen Titans and have all “graduated” so to speak, the same seemingly isn’t the case for the New Teen Titans generation as well? Like Cyborg, Starfire, Beast Boy and Raven should all be in their early twenties at least? Vic and Kory moved on in the New 52, but Gar and Raven seem perpetually stuck where they started, when frankly I’d rather see how they could work in other team dynamics - say, Raven in the Shadowpact/Justice League Dark and Beast Boy with Justice League International. What do you think?
I think almost EVERY Titans fan at least that i know off can agree it’s high time for Gar and Rachel to be alongside Dick, Kory, Vic and the other guys in being part of their teams instead of being relegated to the YJ Generation and younger.
So seeing those two in those respective teams would be something of a godsend for them

Kintsugi
Set between season two and three of Young Justice. Kaldur goes to talk with Blue Beetle after he messes up a covert mission.
Kaldur walked out of the late meeting to find Jaime sitting awake on the couch. It was one-forty three in the morning. He opened his mouth to say something but Jaime noticed him, and quickly pressed a finger to his lips. Warning Kaldur to stay silent. As he walked around, Kaldur could see why.
Lying down with his head Jaime’s lap, Garfield lay asleep. His green tail twitched as he dreamed, a dazed frown crossing his expression. Kaldur sat down on the couch next Jaime so they could talk about what went wrong on the mission without waking the boy.
Jaime began. Before Kaldur could even open his mouth, the words started slipping out one after another, like a waterfall.
“He had a nightmare. We all do- me, Bart and Garfield. About The Reach. Being taken. What they . . . what they did to us. We’re all affected but it hit Gar hardest, I think. Maybe because Bart and I have families to run to, but for Gar, the Cave was home. He was supposed to be safe there.”
Jaime’s tone held an accusatory note.
And Aqualad, realised suddenly, that the Blue Beetle’s performance issues had nothing to do with cockiness or vanity. It was the fact that when push came to shove, Jaime couldn’t really trust that Kaldur had his safety or wellbeing in mind when he ordered them to do something risky. The kind of trust you had to have in a leader. In a club like this.
“If there’s anything i can do” Kaldur offered. Jaime shrugged.
“I think that sometimes when you break something you can work to repair it. Glue it piece by piece. But sometimes you break something and . . . it’s broken.”
Garfield muttered something incomprehensible in his sleep.

The Teen Titans and their taste in Music:
@heaven-ecologist gave me the idea and I couldn’t stop thinking about it, so here you go.
Beast Boy: Used to have a rave and dubstep hyperfixation but Raven blew up his speaker for playing it too loud. Now he listens to popular white boy music, like Bastille, Ed Sheeran and Billie Eilish. His favourite band is Gorillaz and wants to cameo in a music video as Murdoc’s second cousin.
Starfire: She’s a Taylor Swift girlie. Cries every time she announces an album release. Listens to Lizzo and Doja Cat when she’s working out.  Listens to Mitski when she’s sad.
Raven: Has a ferocious need to have the most alternative music taste in the room. Absolutely My Chemical Romance. A little bit of The Crane Wives. Listens to classical music while she’s meditating. Regularly says stuff like “Tiktok is ruining the music industry” and “No-one makes good music anymore.”
Terra: She and Raven bond over Penelope Scott. If Cyborg hands her the aux, she will only play Mother Mother. Has about twelve “Villain playlists” saved on Spotify and also loves Will Wood.
Robin (Dick Grayson): When he’s with people, it’s white boy pop. It’s Harry Styles, it’s Justin Timberlake, it’s Elton Joh. When he’s alone, it’s Adele or Regina Spektor and he pretends to be in a sad music video. Will unironically lean his head against a bus window for the drama even though the vibration turns his brains to gravel.
Cyborg: He listens to rap. I can’t give you specific examples because I don’t listen to rap.

Here’s the link to my Beast Boy fic inspired by this  post with @undertheknightwing
It’s 3k words, following the Titans team in the 2017 Judas Contract movie which has perhaps been my favourite Teen Titan line-up thus far.
Summary.
The Teen Titans are left in a bad situation when they're captured by an unknown enemy. Even as they equip themselves to escape, an old secret of Beast Boy is spilled- one that can never be unseen again. But despite his true form, will be accepted by his team?
I really enjoyed writing this fic and I hope to get to another one-shot soon. Or even a longer one, if i can manage to buckle down and finish it.

My #1 post of 2022
A fun angst thought I have, is that the body Garfield Logan generally inhabits is not his own. It’s him shapeshifting into the “human” animal, a conservative guess of what he’d look like if he’d remained a normal person and grown up. He’ll never know exactly, what he’d look like at fifteen and thriving, and even that question is tainted by the thick shade of green that washes over everything. But it seems to mollify the crowds that flock to watch the Titans fight, and that’s enough.
His true form is covered in a thick layer of fur, a long green tail and pupil-less eyes, long sharp claws and long sharp teeth. Its a form that reveals how far removed from his personhood he is, how much he truly changed. It’s a form that only a power inhibitor would reveal, or a deep coma. Beast Boy often wonders what he’s more ashamed of; the form, or the fact that he hides it.

bbrae week 2022 | day two | nighttime/movie nights
title: bewitched rating: T/Teen and Up word count: 2,563 ao3 | ffn
SUMMARY:  “But one day, it was like a flip had switched, and suddenly Raven was all too aware of the heat of Gar's body next to hers, the rise and fall of his chest during lulls in the plot, his increasing involuntary movement during climactic scenes, and…something else, every time there was an onscreen kiss.”
Tumblr media
It was, Raven insisted, a mutual decision reached by her and Kori. She would never – not on her life – have suggested a romance film for team movie night if she was staking her own aloof-girl-persona on it, so it was undoubtedly nice to have her bubbly, hopeless-romantic best friend to fall back on. Plus, Raven defended herself adeptly to the boys, it was a film based on one of the finest pieces of literature ever written, and if they paid attention throughout the whole thing, they might even learn a thing or two.
           “Are there any fight scenes?” Beast Boy wanted to know, sinking down into the couch as though he were being subjected to the cruelest form of torture known to man.
           “Define fight scenes,” Raven said drily, checking to see if her tea was fully steeped.
           “Blood and guts?” the changeling said hopefully, waggling his brows at the empath seated next to him.
           Raven shot him a dark look. “No,” she replied simply. Beast Boy groaned.
           “Ra-ven,” he complained, “how do you expect me to get through this entire chick flick without any violence?”
           “I didn’t say there wouldn’t be violence,” Raven said, rising from her seat to deposit her teabag in the nearest trash can. She felt more than saw his interest pique at this, and couldn’t resist smirking as she delivered the fatal blow. “I mean, on-screen violence, no. Actual violence if you don’t shut up and sit still during the film…probably.”
           Gar scowled. “Not cool, Rae.”
           Satisfied with herself, Raven carried her mug back over to the couch with her, and the rest of the team came filing in behind her, laden with the gratuitous snacks the occasion necessitated. Against the background chatter of Starfire convincing Robin that mustard was a suitable alternative to butter in popcorn and Cyborg loudly demanding full custody of the Twizzlers, she resumed her spot next to Beast Boy, despite the sullen air that had fallen over him. She sighed as she settled in.
           “Look, there’s at least…verbal sparring,” she said to him in a conciliatory manner.
           His confusion, she saw, somehow deepened.
           “Banter?” she clarified, quirking a brow pointedly.
           “Like arguing?” Gar pressed, and she nodded. Gar huffed. “Don’t I get enough of that from you in real life anyway?”
            “For the record,” Raven said with a small grimace, “that was me extending an olive branch — and you're a jerk.”
           Gar seemed to consider this for a moment. “Aw, I’m sorry, Rae,” he said finally. “You know this just isn't my scene.”
           “And B-list, made-for-TV sci-fi movies are not mine, and yet,” Raven quipped, but there was a small smile playing on her lips.
           “I know you secretly like watching them alien guts explode everywhere,” Gar teased, and Raven was about to remind him that if real-life exposure was the metric, she’d probably had enough of alien guts, too, when Kori commanded the attention of the room with a loud clap.
           “Friends!” the Tamaranean cried, a joyful smile plastered on her face. “It is now time to commence the viewing of the film chosen by Raven and I as an act of female bonding.”
           “Azar,” Raven muttered into the brim of her mug, trying to ignore Gar’s shit-eating grin.
           “Raven and I have partaken of this film experience on many occasions upon the evenings of our bonding rituals,” Kori went on explaining.
           “Sleepovers,” Raven clarified to the room of puzzled faces.
           “Many occasions, huh?” Gar whispered. Raven chose not to respond.
           “It is the tale of the passion! The secrecy! The treachery!” Starfire was proclaiming at the head of the room. She lowered her voice. “It is the story of the pride,” she paused to seek Raven’s approval, “and the prejudice.” Raven gave a terse nod and Kori squealed, immediately finding her seat beside Robin. “Please, friend Cyborg, allow the film viewing to commence!”
           Cyborg uttered a syllable of disbelief around a mouthful of Twizzlers. He swallowed as he began configuring the TV, muttering, “I don’t know why y’all act like you don’t know how to press a button.” Raven and Gar exchanged conspiratorial smirks as Vic loaded the movie. “Rae?” Vic called to her, and the empath telekinetically lowered the lights.
           As curtain rose on Elizabeth Bennet’s leisurely morning stroll, Raven found herself grateful for the “no-talking” rule the Titans had instituted for team movie nights. The team had quickly discovered that they were all equally opinionated when it came to the fine art of cinema — though some, Raven had to admit, had more sophisticated critiques than others — and after putting their heads together, Raven and Robin had jointly decided that interrupting a film viewing with an ill-timed quip would be punishable by dish duty for a month. No one wanted that (especially after Starfire had used the kitchen), so they all did their best to abide by the code. But expecting Beast Boy and Cyborg to remain silent for any extended period of time — especially where action movies were concerned — was perhaps a bit too idealistic, so the rule was quickly modified to allow for one (1) outburst per Titan per film, and they must formally request the film to be paused first. More often than not they independently concluded that their contribution was not worth stopping the entire film, and thank Azar for that.
           All this to say that Raven was currently putting up a silent prayer that Gar would not use his one time-out to offer commentary on Pride and Prejudice. She didn’t know why (she was honestly kind of afraid to peer too closely), but in recent weeks, she’d found enduring romance films and sex scenes while seated next to him particularly excruciating. She was hardly squeamish about that sort of thing, although she was also woefully inexperienced, to be sure. But one day, it was like a flip had switched, and suddenly she was all too aware of the heat of his body next to hers, the rise and fall of his chest during lulls in the plot, his increasing involuntary movement during climactic scenes, and…something else, every time there was an onscreen kiss.
           When it had come time for Raven and Kori to choose a movie, she had agreed with Kori’s suggestion perhaps a bit too quickly. What better way to test her own tolerance than in a controlled environment like watching a movie she had seen a million times over and could recite front to back?
           She was, naturally, regretting that now.
           She steeled herself when Bingley and his entourage entered the ballroom, but quickly relaxed as she remembered that Gar was probably bored out of his mind and therefore very unlikely to pick up on any kind of romantic tension between Darcy and Lizzy. She tried very hard not to monitor his facial expressions out of the corner of her eye, and mostly succeeded. When Lizzy arrived at Netherfield in her muddy skirts, and Darcy rose as if panicked from his seat, she couldn’t help but notice a faint blip of emotion from Gar.
           She put her hood up.
           To an outside observer, a casual viewer, someone who was acquainted with the world of Jane Austen but by no means a fanatic, it may have seemed that Raven had more time. Darcy’s proclamation of love to Elizabeth was some ways off, and their only onscreen kiss was quite literally at the end of the film. Ostensibly, then, there was nothing to worry about now. Just relax and use this time to prepare for the real drama later on, right?
           Wrong.
           Everyone who knew anything knew that the most electrifying part of Pride and Prejudice (2005) was the hand-flex. The hand-flex, whereby the dashing but aloof Fitzwilliam Darcy could find no other way to react to touching the bare hand of the strong-willed Miss Elizabeth Bennet than by flexing his hand as if to ascertain his own existence, was delivered to the audience only twenty-five minutes into the film…via close-up. There was no way to ignore it. And so Raven could only hope that Gar (indeed, all of the male Titans) would simply have no idea how romantic it was.
           Raven was also acutely aware that her own hand was resting flat on the sofa cushion, mere inches away from Gar’s. One pesky twitch of a finger could land her skin clearly on his own (of course he had to be ungloved tonight). She knew that she should rest her hands in her lap, tuck herself inside of her cloak, and evade perception for the evening. But her right hand was feeling rebellious, apparently.
           As the scene in question approached, all the muscles in Raven’s body were decidedly mutinous, yearning to be in motion. No — to be nearer to him. She gritted her teeth. Where was this coming from, anyway? He was just a boy. A stupid boy. And this was just a movie. And she did not want to hold his hand.
           The sound of Gar clearing his throat sent a noticeable jolt through Raven. He shot her a questioning look, which she dutifully ignored.
           Raven kept her eyes somewhere beyond the screen as Darcy helped Elizabeth into her carriage, but she couldn’t miss the moment their hands met, their clandestine glances. She couldn’t help imagining what it would be like to touch his hand that way, something so small yet meaningful. Maybe that was what drew Raven to these stories. She was ever-cautious. She couldn’t risk a lapse in her control. But Azar, she was lonely. She craved touch. She didn’t need a kiss or a long-lasting embrace. She could be sated with something as unassuming as this — the brush of a hand.
           The brush of his hand.
           Which, she was realizing, was really real. She wasn’t imagining it. She looked down to find his pinky twining gently with hers, and nearly gasped from the shock.
           She didn’t pull her hand away because she wasn’t sure she was strong enough to. His touch was warm, comforting, and yet undeniably disconcerting. She was grateful for the shelter of her hood. She didn’t dare meet his eye.
           Raven kept her gaze fixed firmly on the floor, her emotions tumulting inside of her. What was happening? She couldn’t be doing this. He couldn’t be doing this. And who had initiated it? Surely him. But why? Was he teasing her? She suppressed a swell of indignation at the thought. He wouldn’t dare. But then why?
           As these thoughts were consuming her, Gar’s hand was creeping over, abandoning its light caress of her pinky finger in favor of locking hands completely. Raven blanched, every nerve in her body in overdrive. She stared at their coupled hands in disbelief, watching his thumb traipse lazily over her skin as though it were familiar territory. She shuddered, and so did the far window, threatening to shatter. Her gaze flickered over to Gar’s, whose eyes were widening with concern. Abruptly, she removed her hand, rising from her seat.
           “Pause,” she said loudly, almost a plea. Her other teammates looked on in confusion, but Cyborg obliged, pausing the film. “I’m…not feeling well,” she proclaimed, her eyes flashing to Beast Boy for half a second. Well, it wasn’t entirely a lie. He had completely disrupted her emotional homeostasis. “I think I’m going to call it a night. You guys have fun, though.”
           “Okay Raven,” Dick said, apparently unconcerned. “Feel better.” Starfire nuzzled more tightly against him, obviously eager to resume the movie, and Vic offered her a pitying smile as she swept away before hitting play again. So they were fine, everyone was fine — except for maybe Gar, whose eyes she refused to meet again.
           In the hall outside her room, she let out a shaky breath. Raven considered herself something of a wordsmith, and was proud to be able to express most sentiments sans profanity, but—
           “What the fuck,” she wondered aloud, contracting her affected hand involuntarily. If this was a joke, it was a cruel one, and she had never known Beast Boy’s sense of humor to involve intentional cruelty. But nothing else made sense. Why her? Why tonight? And why did it make her feel so…so…
           “Raven?”
           She froze, identifying Gar’s presence behind her.
           “What?” she demanded, her tone perhaps not as icy as she would have liked.
           She heard him scuff his feet. “Are you…okay?” he asked. “I mean, are you…did I…make you uncomfortable?”
           She still hadn’t moved, so he took the initiative, overtaking her and then planting his feet right in front of her. She looked up, arms wrapped around her torso, and saw genuine concern in his expression.
           “I wasn’t expecting that,” she told him honestly. His mouth ticked upwards in an apologetic grimace.
           “Yeah,” he said sheepishly, “sorry, Rae. I should’ve…I mean, you deserved a heads-up for something like that.” He shook his head. “I don’t know what came over me, Raven. I’m sorry.”
           Raven nodded, lowering her hood to offer him a gentle smile. “It’s okay,” she said. “I didn’t not…like it.”
           Gar brightened, a grin spreading across his face. “Wait, really?”
           Raven blushed. “Really,” she admitted, biting her lip to hinder her growing smile.
           “Cool,” Gar said eloquently. He cleared his throat, wringing his hands together awkwardly. “So, maybe when you’re feeling…better, you know…you and I could finish the movie together? Like, just the two of us?”
           Raven raised an eyebrow, examining the changeling with scrutiny. “You want to finish Pride and Prejudice?”
           Gar shrugged good-naturedly. “Well, sure, yeah,” he said. “It’s something I know you like. Plus, it’s not half bad from what I can see.” He paused for a moment, apparently considering something. “You know what I think is interesting about it? They don’t like each other at first, you know? They really don’t get along. Because they’re closed off and stubborn and have all these preset ideas about one another. But then,” he braved a step closer, but wisely resisted the urge to take her hand again, “they overcame all that, because they found out there was more to each other than met the eye.” He held her gaze for a long moment, and she found breathing a bit difficult. “I like stories like that,” he said softly.
           Raven swallowed, resting one hand gingerly on his upper arm. “Of course,” she whispered. “I would love to finish the movie with you, Garfield.” Their faces were very close now — too close for Raven to manage in her current state — so she stepped back, making for her bedroom door. “Now I’m going to bed,” she said. “I’ll see you tomorrow.”
           “‘Course, Rae,” Gar called, his voice brimming with happiness. “Night!”
           As Raven was preparing to cross the threshold into her bedroom, something occurred to her. She stopped, turning to face Gar’s retreating form. “Beast Boy?” she called after him.
           He turned, his face aglow and hopeful. “Yeah, Rae?”
           Raven crossed her arms, steadying herself against her doorframe. “If you’ve never seen the movie before, how do you know how it ends?”
           Gar blanched, a few bleating chuckles escaping from him. “Ah…eh heh, lucky guess?” he tried, inflection rising. Raven gave him a self-satisfied smirk, and he quickly turned to conceal his reddening face. “LaterRavenseeyouinthemorning!” he blurted as he rounded the corner.
           Raven sighed, making her way into her bedroom at last. “Well,” she muttered, “guess I can’t meditate myself out of this one.”

BBRae Week 2021 - Day 1: Unconventional Kiss
Raven had been dancing around the issue for weeks now, and both she and Gar knew it. There had been a few near misses after a date gone well, a few breathless close calls during training, and one precipitous moment in the kitchen that fell apart when the smoke detector signaled their distraction.
They had been good dates. Very good dates, to be quite honest. Raven had expected that they would go nearly that well, and that had been why she had held off for so long. With all the emotional vulnerability and insightful talks and fantastic company and so many other things that came with dating someone you had been attracted to for years, she knew that the other shoe would drop, and she would have to just plunge in headfirst. And Gar had been patient – he wasn’t one to rush, especially with her. But he wanted it. And, god help her, she wanted it, too.
A perfect first kiss. The First Kiss, for both of them, hung up on each other for so long that they had never made any real attempts to find anyone else. Kori’s magazines had promised that the first kiss was always awkward and had to be refined by, hrm,repeated practice, but that was only a small part of the fear that gripped Raven when she thought of actually, really putting lips to lips.
It wasn’t Gar. She fully expected him to be just as bad as she was for a while (and likely longer given how quick she could pick things up). It wasn’t even what might… come after. Not as such. It was just… just… it was Important. Capital “I” Important – that things go well. Despite the promise of a bad first kiss by seemingly everyone who had ever kissed, it had to go right. Too wet or too dry, wrong head tilt, wrong duration, whatever – but she wanted to kiss him and do it over and over again and what if he didn’t want to or what if there was no chemistry or what if she sneezed or got so nervous she vomited or any number of things that would, according to all her latest nightmares, put him off wanting her the way she wanted him.
And he seemed so damn blithe about it. Like he couldn’t be less worried, even though she had felt his pulse race and could practically hear his internal monologue turning into a full blown soliloquy. He had that placid smile and those sparkling eyes and smelled like warmth and pine and it was so stupid how he wouldn’t just admit how nervous he was so they could be nervous together.
No, she had to be the mature one and feel all the butterflies for them both. She could practically hear his corny joke about never getting butterflies because he was vegetarian. Stupid Gar and stupid kissing.
It would happen. She would make it happen. And it wouldn’t be perfect, or probably even a very good kiss, but it would be right. Eventually.
____
There was an awful lot of noise and fleeing civilians for an evening out, even at the pier.
Nightwing sighed from atop his favorite ride at the boardwalk, the Ferris Wheel, as he retrieved his communicator and alerted the team. “Titans, we’ve got work to do. Something big is causing trouble at the east entrance. Star and I are on our way and will meet you there.” With that, he stood up in the precariously rocking carriage and Starfire lifted him by the arms, taking off in the direction of the disturbance. Cyborg, heretofore incognito on a date, immediately excused himself and waded through the crowds, shedding his holo-disguise. He was alerted to his passing teammates by a green blur, and called out to Raven as she passed, asking for a ride on one of her ink-black levitating discs. She obliged and they took off after Changeling’s racing avian form.
Gar was the fastest one to respond in these situations. Superhuman reactions and mobility got him to the trouble faster than any of his teammates, and he was proud of it. It meant that he was the first one to  engage the enemy, which was a dangerous gambit when he didn’t know what the enemy was, but someone had to be first on the line when every second was a danger to innocent people. In this case, it was more an annoyance than any real threat. Kitten was throwing a very public and destructive temper tantrum, as she tended to do within a few weeks of release/escape.
Her on-again, off-again boyfriend, Fang, was nearby and suffering the brunt of the auditory assault while a swarm of mutated grubs ate their way through stalls and prizes alike. Kitten was waving the control device as she gesticulated wildly, and the chance to end the whole debacle in one fell swoop was too tempting.
Without waiting for backup or giving away his presence, Changeling darted forward as a seagull, beak agape as he neared the remote. He had timed it perfectly, if not for Fang’s suddenly outstretched spiderleg. The blow sent him tumbling into a pile of cheap stuffed animals and he transformed back into himself. The arguing couple immediately turned their ire on him without ever stopping their argument.
“And now look what you’ve done! Your stupidity got this idiot involved! Why couldn’t you just win me a stupid teddy bear like a normal boyfriend?” Kitten raged as she hammered at the controller, causing the grubs to turn their attention towards the dazed and prone Changeling. Fang launched webbing at him, working at cross purposes as the grubs and giving Changeling just enough time to roll out of the way.
“This is not my fault. You know these games are rigged! Why would I give the money I stole to these scam artists?”
“Because you are supposed to! It’s what boyfriends do! They do stupid stuff because I want you TO!” Kitten screamed and threw her remote onto the ground where it cracked and fizzled. Instead of the expected de-metamorphosis from vicious gnawing grubs to harmless caterpillars, there was a rumbling from deep inside the snack stall and a mass exodus of larvae from the vicinity. Gar had just gotten to his feet when a much larger, toothier, and more armored wriggler burst from the shoddy wooden confines, writhing and shrieking even more shrilly than Kitten, and headed directly towards her and Fang in a headlong charge.
Apparently Kitten’s shouting was enough to distract both of them from their imminent death by squirming tank, and Changeling had to make a tough split-second decision – let them suffer the consequences of their own stupidity, or put himself in harm’s way to save them.
It wasn’t much of a choice. Leaping forward, he transformed into a rhino, a fast moving locomotive of heavy armor and muscle and slammed headfirst into the tank sized larva, diverting it and being whipped aside by the unexpected followthrough of the tail end of the grub.
Raven’s disk touched down just in time to see his head collide with a thick support post that held up the boardwalk, and the sounds of argument fell silent as Kitten and Fang wordlessly assessed the situation and fled. Cyborg called out “Get B. I’ll get the worm,” and launched after the creature.
Raven raced to Garfield’s side, seeing the heavy gash and road rash from sliding across the wood. She assessed him as quickly as possible, noting the broken ribs, bleeding, and, most concerning, the lack of breathing. She channeled her power, reaching her soulself into the unmoving shapeshifter on the ground, and urgently repaired his most vital injuries.
The head wound would wait, they always bled more and looked worse than they were. First the broken ribs, eased out and stabilized enough to hold for a little while. Then the badly punctured lung. As the trapped air was removed and the hole patched, she expected him to cough, sit up, and make a dumb joke. Instead he just lay there, silent. His pulse was fine, and there was no reason for him to be so still.
She did all the steps that the Titans’ first aid training laid out for her, making sure his airway was clear, no pressure preventing his breathing or hidden wounds that would cause more damage, then started mouth to mouth.
It only took a few breaths, as if his body had simply not realized for some seconds that he was able to breathe normally again, before the first unassisted rasps began. Raven let out a sob of relief, feeling like his breath resuming was directly connected to her own oxygen. She continued healing him, clearing his head of blood and strengthening the broken ribs before his eyes opened with a groan.
“Did ya get the license of that truck that hit me?” he said, weakly.
Raven nearly hit him. “That was by far the stupidest thing I have ever seen you do. What were you thinking, charging in like that?”
“Aww c’mon, Rae. I had ta’. And I’m sure you’ve seen me do stupider things.”
“None of them had you puncture a lung and stop breathing, you fool. You didn’t need emergency resuscitation when you tried to do a standing backflip.” A jolt of power zapped him with an icicle of cold to the chest, and he coughed.
“At least I stuck the landing this time, heh. I think I can sit up. Thanks for fixing me up, Doctor Rae.”
She glared, and kept glaring as Nightwing checked in. Fang and Kitten had been apprehended almost peacefully by him and Starfire, and Cyborg had incapacitated the grub easily. She reported the situation, not once taking her eyes off her idiot of a boyfriend.
He rolled to his feet, only a little gingerly, and retrieved the broken pieces of the remote control for Cyborg to repair and reverse the changes to the swarm.
As he stooped down to pick up the last pieces, he stopped, and a look of realization dawned on him.
“Wait, you gave me CPR? Like, mouth-to-mouth?”
“Of course. You weren’t breathing and you needed oxygen before any working brain cells died.”
“Y’know,” he said, sitting back down beside her, “I think that counts as our first kiss.”
Raven went still. It couldn’t. It wasn’t even a kiss, it was legitimate medical treatment. But then again, it wasn’t very good, it was at a weird angle, and there was even the terrible fear that she’d vomit out of worry. It checked all the boxes for the perfect terrible first kiss.
He interrupted her musing, “Too bad I don’t remember it. Maybe we could see if trying again might jog some memories.” He reached his arm across her shoulders, waggling his eyebrows.
“Oh shut up,” she said, and pulled him in for a completely butterfly-free second first kiss.

20 and 63 from the mashup list!!
(...possibly bbrae if you want because thats what i'm dying to see in Titans Academy, but i give you freedom of whichever ship you choose <3)
Sooooo BBRae you say.... *wink* (two of my fave tropes EVER!)
20: Everybody Knows/Mistaken for Couple AND 63: Teacher AU TWO OF MY FAVORITE TROPES EVER!!
I hope you like it!!!
I take wayyy too fucking long to write sooo im sorry about the delay on the prompts my friendos!!!
AO3!
Everyone knew it. It was no secret. Even if it was, it wasn’t at all, a well kept one. And the best part was, everybody was talking about it.
And it was NOT a good thing for two particular professors at the Titans Academy. Every time they were together, be it standing together, or sitting together or even when they had a joint class together. Whispers, whispers, whispers. Someone had even drawn a heart with a marker on their photograph that had somehow appeared next to each other in every single Academy yearbook that had been distributed! Of course, Nightwing planned to “go to the bottom of the mystery” being the master detective he was, but for reals, everyone knew he was the one of the two people who might have done it. The other being Victor Stone a la Cyborg.
Raven didn’t find it hard to block out the whispers and the voices. She was an empath, and would hear people’s emotions and thoughts quite regularly, and blocking them out was a sort of regular thing for her. Whispers were also easy to drown, especially when they didn’t carry any weight as such.
Beast Boy on the other hand, Raven often noticed, got unnerved when faced with things like this. He was a nice, high spirited, cheerful goofball, who didn’t really fare well at hiding emotions. If he was frustrated, flustered, annoyed, angry, or rather anything except happy, it’d show quite easily on his face. It was one of the things Raven loved the most about him, he was perfectly transparent, not like other guys who liked to keep their emotions bottled up, and not in a way like Raven’s where her emotions overloading might end up in her demonic powers getting out of control, but rather, a case of being “Wayy too cool to have emotions or be nice”.
Raven had a strong dislike for boys like that, boys who faked how they felt, and were actually really manipulative and shrewd. Beast boy was definitely not one of them. And that was one of the many reasons why she didn’t mind the whispers. If people around the academy were shipping her with someone, she was glad it was Beast boy.
She had just started grading the term papers in the teacher’s lounge, when she suddenly realised there was a question in the paper about adaptibility to adverse conditions, a question that she, Raven Roth did not put in her section of the paper. And honestly didn’t know the answer of either. Starfire had wanted the questionnaires to be set by the entire staff together, or if that was not possible with a lot of bickering, then with all the professors sending their respective questions to her, the headmistress, who could compile it into a perfect question paper that would set a challenging questionnaire for the heroes in the making.
And the teachers were allotted a group of students whose papers they had to check, whether they knew the questions or not. “You can use the help of the friends and the other teachers of the school to help you with the questions that you do not the know” she had said sweetly, “it will only make the bonds of your accord and companionship grow the stronger”
Nobody had a heart to refuse.
The first six questions were easy, and two were not from Raven’s subject of Enchantment and Charms, but simple stuff, that Raven could mark with ease, but question no. 7 was something else entirely.
“Beast boy will know the answer to this” raven muttered and got up, taking a sample paper from her desk, and dashing out of the door, knowing she’ll be back in a few minutes with some in depth knowledge of the subject.
On the way, she scanned the paper for more questions to ask Beast boy, while she was at it, so she wouldn’t have to run again and again. In the paper of forty questions, she found 8 she couldn’t do without his help.
He was standing in a classroom drawing some stuff about some animal characteristics on the white board, when Raven arrived.
“Hey” She said, standing in the doorway, beckoning him.
“Hey!!” he replied back cheerfully, and the entire class, which had been listening attentively, suddenly burst into hushed whispers.
“Beast boy I need some help” she said, blushing a bit, feeling some of the whispers reach her...
“Oh!” He blushed just as she did, it was a reflex action that happened any time she said anything to him. He scratched the back of his neck, “um mama— I mean raven, I’m a bit busy, but what happened??” No matter how busy he was, he would always make time for her.
“Umm class, try seeing the patterns in the leopard, and how they take care of their young ones, and I’ll be back in ten” he said, in his most serious voice, but the entire class burst into excited whispers again.
“Hey Rae!” He said, still blushing, still flustered, as he came out into the corridor to face her.
“I wanted to ask you some stuff” she said, handing him the paper, “first off, question seve—” before she could complete her sentence, Gar interrupted her.
“Hey, umm Rae can I ask you something?” He said, a little hesitantly, and Raven stopped short, “Sure Gar, what happened?”
“Actually… I… uh. The way you, the way you pulled me out of the classroom… won’t help with the… the whispers…” he said, a little flushed.
Raven understood. Beast Boy was again having trouble with dealing with what people said behind his back, and students, in general, can be quite mean.
“Oh” was all she said, and Waited for him to continue, but he didn’t.
“Gar?” She asked, gently, once again, placing a hand on his shoulder, “why do you worry so much about what people say about you and me?”
He gulped, “it’s not like… it bothers me…. It’s more like…” he struggled to find the right words.
Raven didn’t need to use her empathic powers to know what he wanted to say, because deep down, in a place where she rarely let her emotions wander, she felt the exact same way.
“It’s more like you *want* them to be true.”
Garfield Logan looked at her for a long, LONG minute, trying to understand what she had just told him, and it took him a hot second, but his blush went up about a thousand times, as he realised.
“Are you… saying… that… you also… want… those whispers to be… real?” He stuttered nervously, and Raven smirked. Just like she had imagined it in her head countless times.
What was that other thing she had imagined?
Oh yes.
“The whispers… I think it’s time enough that we give the smoke a flame to brag about” she said, pulling him by his collar, closer, and softly planting a kiss on his lips. Her lips softly brushed against his, preciously, delicately, like the tiny, fluttering wings of a butterfly, just long enough that he could inhale her breath, feel the warmth of her skin, let his heart skip a few beats, before it was over, way too soon, and left a taste of her lipstick lingering on his lips.
“I’ll ask you about the term papers later” she winked playfully, spun around on her heel, and left, leaving a stunned, more red than he was green, Beast Boy who was basically at this point stranded on cloud nine, with no bounds of his joy.
Of course, this would NOT help the situation with the rumours and the whispers, and the fact that everybody knew that this was bound to happen at some point in time or another.
Beast Boy was jerked back into the present by the sound of a window pane breaking as the the entire class practically attempted to stay inside, while at the same time get as much of a view at the professors, to gawk at their conversation in the hallway through the glass windows of the classroom.

DC Street Racing AU — Bart Allen’s Backstory
alright, i know practically nothing about cars. i’ve also never even seen a Fast and the Furious movie, but SOMEONE has gotta fill the void on lack of DC Street Racing AUs, and i’m gonna do it. (if there are some out there though, please let me know! i can barely find ANYTHING, and i’d love to see stuff for this kind of AU!)
so,,, i’m just saying,,, the Teen Titans and Young Justice Crews as Street Racers.
we’ll start off with the characters that sent me into this spiral in the first place: Bart Allen and Wally West.
again, i know practically nothing about this kind of stuff. i know nothing about street racing, or cars, but i’m just saying… i really love imagining Street Racer!Wally being Bart’s inspiration for wanting to race.
even though Iris was never approving of Wally’s racing (she’s supportive, but extremely concerned for his safety), Wally would occasionally bring Bart along to the races that he’d have with friends. sometimes Bart would sneak his way into going without Wally realizing, but either way, Bart would come along.
after years of growing up and watching Wally race, Bart decided he wanted to race too. (note: to save myself a headache since this is No Powers AU and Time Travel doesn’t take place, we’re just gonna pretend that Barry and Iris adopted Bart. i want to say that his parents were close family members of Iris and Wally. perhaps one of the parents was another cousin of theirs, but both Bart’s parents ended up dying in some sort of accident. since then, Bart’s been living with Barry, Iris, and their newly born twins.)
i have so much more to say about this AU, but i want to warn you because this is about to be a VERY long post. however, if you wanna know Bart Allen’s Street Racer AU backstory and more about Wally (and his racing group, The Titans), please read more!
      (TW: small car accident — completely non-graphic, no injuries involved, everything is okay, but it does happen)     Bart’s been interested in racing for YEARS. ever since he was a kid, he’s always craved to know what it’s like — to feel the wind in your hair, the rush of adrenaline in your veins, the feeling of your heart racing as you watch the speedometer go up and up and up. the exhilaration filling your lungs as some part of you realizes “this is dangerous”.
he wants those feelings. he wants that experience that makes Wally’s eyes light up like there’s pure lightening rushing through his veins.
he wants to go Fast.
when Bart was thirteen, Wally let him sit in the driver’s seat for the first time.
Wally didn’t let him drive it, of course. Bart wasn’t tall enough yet to reach the petals even if he wanted to, but he was excited nonetheless. Wally had laughed at him as he grinned, asking how to work everything.
the car wasn’t on — Wally wasn’t dumb enough to give him even the slightest chance of trying to start it. it was a good choice. Bart would be a liar to say that he wouldn’t have instantly tried to drive it. instead, Wally let Bart mess with the gears and pretend he was in a race of his own. he’d adjust the mirror to try to see himself. he was too short to fully be seen in it, but if he sat up tall enough he could see his eyes.
years later, Bart would do the same. he’d look into his reflection and see his eyes, sparkling with that same determination that he had all those years ago.
Wally had explained everything to him. Bart started off by eagerly pointing at things (like the gear, the numbers, and all the weird symbols he could see) and ask questions, and Wally would answer every one. Wally explained other things too, like what made Wally’s special car better for racing than some random car. Bart hung on every word, trying his best to imagine all the pieces, even if he didn’t know what some were at all. he tried to commemorate every bit of information to memory bc maybe one day, he could make himself a cool car too.
the first time Bart actually drove a car was a disaster.
he was barely fourteen. it was hardly even a few months after Wally had verbally explained to him how to work a car.
no one expected him to put that knowledge to use so quickly.
somehow he got ahold of Iris’ keys. he would never explain how he got him (they were RIGHT THERE on the counter. how was he supposed to say no when they made it so easy?), but somehow it happened.
his joyride didn’t last long enough. for a short moment though, he was beyond excited to be beyond the wheel. after lots of adjusting the seat and awkwardly shuffling to sit as close to the wheel as possible to be able to see over the hood, Bart started to drive.
he managed to get down the street. he was a little slow at first. the car wobbled in an unsteady line as it trudged down the road at barely 10mph. Bart’s eyes flickered constantly between the road and the mirror, his small hands gripping the wheel like a lifeline.
the anxiousness he felt subsided as he reached the end of the neighborhood. there was no sign of Iris in sight, and he managed to drive just fine. stunned laughter bubbled from his lips as his eyes flickered back down to the road ahead— he was doing it! he was really doing it! he was driving!
with a newfound confidence urging him on, he turned onto a connected street to keep going. he started pressing on the gas pedal more, trying to gain some speed. the car started going from a slow crawl to a decently safe speed. Bart started pressing down on it harder and harder, going faster and faster. he remembered laughing in delight. the windows were cracked halfway, allowing the air to rush in. it tousled his hair, and for a moment he felt like he was flying.
until he wasn’t.
he hadn’t really considered the thought of other cars. he hadn’t considered a lot of things actually, such as the fact it was the middle of the day and people would be driving.
he didn’t crash into anyone, but it was a close call. when he started getting closer to the main road and noticed the cars zooming across, he panicked.
he hit the brakes. he did what Wally said. he didn’t slam them, but he was still going too fast. the cars were getting closer! Bart pressed his foot door harder and finally, stomped on the brakes altogether.
he yanked the wheel away from the road, shutting his eyes tight.
the wheels spun. he went off the road into the grass, tire skidding rough tracks across the grass and dirt. he didn’t hit a car, but he did hit the stop sign at the end of the street.
it was a miracle he didn’t get hurt, or worse. he ended up a bit banged up hitting the wheel and the seatbelt yanking too tight, but he was overall fine. unfortunately, Iris definitely wasn’t happy.
Bart didn’t drive for a long while after that.
occasionally, Wally would still take him on drives though.
some of Bart’s best memories are riding in the passenger seat late at night. along barren backroads and empty highways, Wally would race through the streets. with the windows rolled down, the two of them would laugh, voices carried through the wind that whipped their hair like reckless flames.
under the passing lights, Bart would grin wide and holler his excitement into the night sky without a care in the world.
the world would need to try pretty hard to catch them.
Bart would also get to attend a few of Wally’s races. it isn’t as often as he used to with Iris and Barry watching him more closely, but he still got to go some times.
he’d only really watch Wally race against friends.
they called themselves the Titans. Wally said the name wasn’t planned, it just happened to stick. Bart assumed it was more because as time went on, they really did become like the titans to beat if you wanted to prove yourself as a racer.
it was who made up the team that once surprised him.
Dick Grayson, Wally’s best friend of many years and infamous son of Gotham’s Bruce Wayne, was the unofficial leader of the group. The Dick Grayson, with his car as dark as the night. the darkness of the car was only disrupted by a few brilliant blue decals. the most memorable one was always the striking blue silhouette of a bird on the hood. (“Nightwing,” Dick affectionately called the car.)
Koriand’r, an incredibly kind woman with hair that was almost more fiery than Bart’s own. her car was a vibrant purple with flames racing along the sides as if it’d caught fire. (“they call me Starfire”, she told him once when caught him fawning over the car, awed as ever. “i like to imagine that if i drive just fast enough, i can see flames.”)
Victor Stone, who indulged all his questions and answered every single one with the same enthusiasm. he’d lost an arm to an accident, but replaced it with an amazing cybernetic one. his designed his own car to have similar robotic style. incredibly futuristic and constantly updated with the best parts he could find. (“someone called me Cyborg,” Victor told him once while working on the car. he let Bart sit in the garage with him, occasionally offering whatever help he could. “i think it was an insult at first, but the name sort of stuck, kind of like with the Titans. so i made it my own.”)
and at last, Garfield Logan, the youngest of the group. with his dark green hair and toothy smile, Garfield was always quick to make him feel welcome and make him laugh with an endless amount of dumb jokes. his charisma and bright personality showed in his car. like his hair, it was a deep green. when he turned it on, the underneath glowed a neon green. black pawprints walked along the sides towards the end of the car. (“they’re actually tiger pawprints,” Gar corrected him once, looking excited as ever to explain. “there’s a few other animals too. i wanted it to look like the animals were really here, or like maybe i’m the animal? i dunno. i told everyone to call me Beast Boy, so i guess this would be my beast.”) they had another friend, Raven, that never raced with them. dressed in black with dark hair that he swore shone purple in certain lights, Raven was much more quiet and reserved than the rest of the group. Bart enjoyed her rare company, despite it being more of a companionable silence. he’d take it none the less. sometimes if Bart was able to hang out with Wally and the group outside of racing nights, he’d occasionally he’d bring along homework, a book, or a comic to read if Wally was meant to be busy at some point. he’d end up hanging out in one of their apartments while they were busy, and sometimes Raven would be there. they’d quietly read in each other’s company, never having to say a word. he’d asked Wally once why she didn’t race too. Wally had only laughed. (”we’re lucky that she doesn’t,” Wally told him, “if Raven raced, we’d all be doomed, trust me. you should never underestimate her.” Bart figured that meant that Raven was an undeniable part of the group too. he hoped he’d see her race one day.)
all of them were amazing, but Bart was a little stunned by each of them had their own unique style. they all had their own story and reason for being inspired to race. the one thing they all shared though was that same spark in their eyes Wally had.
needless to say, Bart would try to spend as much time with them as possible to try and learn from them.
his dream was to race, but his other dream was now to become just like them. he wanted to be a Titan.
he was too young at that time, but he would aim to prove that he could be good enough to join them one day. he would be a Titan.
or at least, he’d be close enough to being a Titan, he’d decide upon meeting a few other faces around his age, but that’s a story for another day.             ...and that’s all we have for now, folks!
if you’re wondering why i chose only those Teen Titans, i didn’t want to make the group too big. i originally considered the OG Young Justice group, but found that i really wanted to save Superboy (Conner Kent, my beloved) to be apart of Bart’s friend group later. (not to mention, i REALLY wanted to talk about Street Racer! Kori existing in this AU. Beast Boy’s another favorite that i just HAD to include, thus we have the animated Teen Titans team, just with Wally and Dick having the same kind of friendship as kids like in YJ.)
let me know if you want any more from his idea! i’d love to know what you guys think of all this so far. if you ever want me to talk about anyone in particular, please feel free to ask! i’d totally be up to come up with more ideas! i’d also love to know if anyone has any thoughts about other characters might be like from this AU!
i really just came up with all this on the fly, but i’m honestly becoming attached to this AU already, so i’d be more than excited to talk more about it!
thanks for reading!!

Year of the cow, or how I stopped worrying and loved the meme (BBRae)
Beast Boy's and Raven's relationship is truly one of the most subtle and emotional ones I have seen. There are lots of fantastically written fics which dive deep into characterisation and their nuanced, complicated emotions, showing complex colours of the spectrum of love.
Unfortunately, you have made a mistake clicking on one of my fics.
This is a birthday present for my buddy, ZekkKiray, and it revolves around a meme which I really found irritating... And I wondered how other characters might have reacted to it. Happy birthday, man!
yes, still half hour till midnight in my time zone, made it.
BBRae, 4k, E, (Ao3)
==========
As the Sun slowly hid on the horizon, Jump City, just like every city and town in the world, was slowly preparing for a glorious celebration. People were ready to welcome the new year with dances, parties and optimism encouraged by copious amounts of alcohol.
But not everyone was interested in partying and throwing caution to the wind. Five superheroes traversed the town's rooftops, watching over many celebrations, and ideal breeding grounds for crime, big or small.
Robin, Starfire, Cyborg, Raven and Beast Boy set out to patrol the city, to ensure that this momentous occasion won't be disturbed by any wrong-doer...
And quite quickly decided to join the party. Well, some of them. Robin sighed when he realised that his team has disbanded to join the crowd of onlookers, cheering and applauding the band on the colorful stage, that would soon be replaced by another group, hired just to play one or two hits for some quick cash.
Raven stayed to the side as well, keeping her eye not only at her friends, but the crowd, though her attention was suddenly caught by the dancers on the stage. Three women, dressed in black-and-white horned costumes, performing a synchronised dance, much to the delight of the audience.
- Er, and what exactly is that? Some sort of fad...?
- Oh, no, friend Raven! - Starfire was eager to explain - Robin has told me it's a Chinese calendar! And the Chinese have chosen an animal to represents each year, and...
- Oh, yeah, right. - Raven interrupted her - And lemme guess, this year's a cow?
- Ox, technically. - Robin chimed in - And it's not even started yet, it's based on a lunar one, so it will be somewhere in February.
Raven looked at the women in their silly costumes, dancing and playfully jiggling their fake udders and cow-bells to the beat of the music.
- Meh, whatever, it's gonna be over soon. Oh, by the way, this guys was pickpocketing. - Raven spoke nonchalantly, her shadow coiling around a burly man's throat.
By January fourth, however, Raven was seeing cows everywhere. Television, billboards, the internet... especially the internet. She felt as if it was a single-themed Halloween party that somehow stretched to a week.
And the boys weren't helping. While Robin remained reasonably level-headed, Cyborg and Beast Boy were having times of their lives, enjoying every single appearance of the costumes in real life, or in any media.
The worst thing was, Raven wasn't even sure why the fad irritated her so much. There were much more asinine things out there. But something about that fad was driving her nuts.
At the very least, there was Starfire, who sometimes was able to understand her.... or so Raven thought until she returned one day from the market with plastic cow-horns on her head a bell around her neck.
Raven groaned at the sight of his friend and stormed out of the common room, pushing away few streamers, still lingering after the new year's party.
She closed door to her room behind her and embraced the darkness and silence that allowed her to meditate and focus her powers...
And then she heard the faint jingling of the cowbells from behind the wall.
The purple flames on the candles around her shot up to the ceiling, as Raven tried to control her irritation.
She barked and grabbed her mirror, disappearing into her private void that extinguished the flames she ignited.
Raven walked down the floating rocks that paved her dimension, encased in darkness, illuminated by just few stars and distant galaxies. The ravens flew away in fear, as she glided forward, hoping to find some peace and quiet here...
- Hiya!
But of course, in this realm, she was never truly alone.
A woman dressed in pink jumped from behind a nearby rock, causing Raven to cease her movement just for a while, before she promptly decided to ignore her own emoticlone.
- Oh come on, you haven't been here for ages! - the jovial embodiment of happiness continued - We've been having SO much fun here!
- Great. Leave me alone.
But before she could react, Pink grabbed her and steered her off-path, flying down a different route, loudly announcing their presence.
- Hey guys. looks who's here! - she shouted, waving the arm she wasn't using to maneuver Raven between rocks.
- Oh, great, our big sister... - the Orange mumbled from behind a couch-shaped rock
- Have-have we done something wrong? - the timid Graphite pulled over her cloak
- Judging from your prolonged absence, something extraordinary must have happened. - Yellow interjected, eyeing Raven with curious stare.
Raven let out another groan.
- It's nothing. Leave me-
- Oh, is it about you-know-who?
Violet's sly and suggestive voice prompted Raven to pause mid-turn. her eye twitched.
- Ooh, very brave of you to tackle the most common problem of your visits! - Green added at once. - He can be annoying...
- I've said...
A blast of energy erupted around her, as Raven turned away, but couldn't finish her sentence. There was one emotion left, and she knew very well what can summon her, and it was already too late.
- Come on, say it.
Red spoke, gleaming with a subtle, yet unmistakeable triumph in her voice.
- I'm done with you. - Raven answered and continued her walk, before being predictably stopped again
- Oh sure, is this why you have almost brought me back? - she sneered - And for such petty reason...
- Ooh, tell us, tell us! - Pink chimed in, before being brought aside by Yellow
- Let me do it...
Red spoke and spread her arms, giving the other emoticlones chance to glimpse into what little she have seen.
- That... that is quite an insignificant reason to bring back *her* - Yellow judged - Are you sure it's adequate?
- I'm just afraid this will backfire... - Graphite meeped from behind her
- But I was right - Violet added - It is about him...
- ENOUGH!
Raven burst with energy, silencing her living emotions.
- We just want you to say it, so we can... help you.
The Red emoticlone stood in her way, finally making her stop. Her presence cast a shadow of fear on the lesser creatures of this realm, and even some other emoticlones that dared not to approach her. Red's voice was strangely polite, though Raven knew she must have an ulterior motive behind it.
- And you know what the answer to your problem is.
Anger reached her arm and waited for Raven's response. She couldn't meet her eyes. She was right, of course, but at the same time, embracing the violent and unpredictable part of her nature, reminding her of her father's legacy filled her with disgust...
- But you will not be alone with it. - Violet suddenly joined.
- And while it may look odd, this might be an opportunity to broaden your horizons. - Yellow continued.
- And let's face it, you've done weirder things, but you never cowered away! - Green shouted.
- Besides, it's gonna be so much fun! - Pink smiled.
Raven lifted her hood and looked at the other emoticlones, all awaiting her decision.
Knowing she's delaying the inevitable, with a heavy sigh, Raven made her decision.
===============
Garfield knew better not to interrupt Raven. He has made that mistake a few times in his life, and he still had his life only because Raven was his friend.
Still, seeing her angry was painful, thought not as much as the silent treatment he was getting from her. Beast Boy hesitated for a moment, and just before he was about to knock on her doors, he stopped himself.
With a sigh, he turned around and returned to his room, finding someone already inside.
At first, Garfield thought he was dreaming. But after a few blinks, he realised that the marvellous, dreamy sight in front of his eyes was real, and it made his heart skip a beat.
Raven's trademark, dark-blue attire was gone, replaced by a white costume dotted with black-and-brown spots. Her long legs were covered in fishnets with the same pattern, and as his eyes travelled up, he realised what was exerting the gravitational force that was pulling him that way...
The skin-tight costume had changed his perception, perhaps, but even then, Raven' nipples were just a fraction of an inch away from slipping, as her breast were simply too big to stay hidden in any article of clothing.
And when he looked at her horned head again, he noticed a faint smile on her face, contrasting so much with her demeanour over the past few days. She shifted her legs, spreading them slightly, giving him just a small tease of what was to come, and with her eyes fixated at him, she spoke.
- Moo, I guess.
- Oh, momma!
And before she knew it, Beast Boy leapt onto her with the grace and agility of a frog, diving between her enlarged breasts, and feeling the delicate, cushioning texture engulf his head almost entirely. And at the same time, with his fingers digging into the material, he freed Raven's breasts, hungrily kissing each square inch of her body as if his life depended on it.
- Gar... - Raven moans, feeling her boyfriend wriggling against her bosom
- I see someone has changed her mind...
- You can say that... - Raven replied, hiding the moan that was about to escape her lips.
- I guess you took Starfire's approach and visited the market? - Beast Boy joked, between his kisses - Or, wait, no, you ordered it online so no one will know, right?
- Let's just say I didn't have to order it...
For a moment, Beast Boy pondered the meaning of her words, until he realised that he has seen her outfit once before. Well, without the black-and-brown blots. And as the realisation dawned on him, he let out a gasp, as Raven's eyes glowed white.
Only one of the spots was brown. There was a pink, yellow, green one...
Her most powerful form, the combination of all of her emotions sat on his bed, emanating raw magical, warm energy that could easily vaporise him if she wanted to. Beast Boy suspected the horns weren't plastic either, and that he has just made a few snarky jokes to a demonic sorceress orders of magnitude more powerful than him.
And yet, she was still smiling.
- I just... - Raven swallowed - Couldn't stand you ogling all those cartoon anime girls on-line, in their stupid cow costumes. So I had to fight fire with fire.
- Aww... - Beast Boy cooed - Is my Raven jealous?
- YES. - the demon spoke in deep, rumbling voice that shook some of the objects on the shelves.
The spots on her White costumes suddenly glowed with ominous, red aura, as blood in Garfield's veins froze.
Her face was inches away from his, and only when she felt his hastened breath, she calmed down, and her spots returned to their original colours, just as the red aura disappeared from her eyes. She reached her hands and cupped his face, glad that he did not back away, as her anger overtook her. Their lips met, and Raven poured her apologies into him in a long, delicate kiss.
- And you will have to pay for it. - she smiled, giving Garfield clear sign she was everything under control, including him.
- Rae... - Garfield whined - You-you know I'd never... they... they don't mean anything...
- Then prove it.
Raven used the moment of hesitation to engulf him and with one sharp move of her hands and her magic, she ripped his clothes to shreds and brought her lover closer to her. With his shorts gone, Raven's eyes fixated on his cock, and had to restrain herself from licking her lips, as its head came closer and closer to her face. But of course neither of them would settle on just a blowjob, given the magic Raven cast upon herself.
Beast Boy jumped onto her breasts again, peppering them with plethora of hungry, ravenous kisses. Knowing already her bosom by heart, he know had a whole new territory to explore, and he did that with impeccable dedication. But as his lips closed around her nipple, he received a taste of something unexpected. His eyes widened, and met hers, as sweet substance made contact with his tongue. The sly smile on her lips remained, but as Beast Boy began lapping her milk, her face was torn with a new grimace he hasn't seen yet, and Raven was more than eager to experience.
Garfield moved from one nipple to the other, wishing he could transform into some creature with two heads. As Raven squirmed and moaned underneath him, he wondered what will happen soon, and with his hand manoeuvring between her thighs, he was determined to discovered that.
Her back arched, as his fingers reached her wet spot and slipped underneath her costume, just as his tongue coiled around her nipple again. Though she was trying to contain her emotions, the spots on her costume glowed in violet with each kiss and delicate move of his fingers against or inside her sex, and soon, Raven was thrashing underneath him, ready to burst.
And when she did, it was not with energy, but with milk that filled Beast Boy's mouth, in an act that surprised both of them.
Raven quaked for a few more minutes, coating his fingers with her juices he now lapped as eagerly as the new one she produced for him. Beast Boy made sure to wait until she was looking at him when he licked his lips, tasting both.
- Come'ere, I'm thirsty too... - she huffed, and settled herself amongst the pillows, ready to invite him.
Beast Boy let out a dreamy sigh, as his cock slid between her breasts, engulfing him completely with the delicate, heavenly texture only her breasts could provide. And when Raven gently pushed her mounds together, she added the missing part of friction, making Beast Boy throw his head back, even though he hasn't moved an inch.
But as he looked down at his girlfriend, he met her unusually frisky eyes, and with that, he flexed his muscles. Next thing she knew, his hands were on her horns, and he pushed his hips forward, diving deep into her bosom.
His action was a bit sudden and Raven's eyes opened wide when she realised that her head was pulled forward and that his twitching tip was now a fraction of an inch from her lips. And as she was about to open them, he pulled back and began his thrusts, mewling and moaning with each one, as pleasure slowly engulfed him.
He was in trance, brought by the alluring sight of his girlfriend and her magically enlarged bosom and thge reward they were leaking. And as Raven promised, she wanted one of her own: now, with every rapid thrust, her tongue lapped a drop or two of his pre-cum, in turn only generating more samples of what was to come. Raven was pretty sure what was his plan, but she opened her lips wide anyway, hoping to catch at least some of his oncoming climax.
- Rae...Rae... I LOVE YOU!
And with that proclamation, beast Boy dived balls-deep between her magically enlarged breasts, letting her warmth and size cover them as well, which only strengthened his orgasm. Raven yelped when the first stream of his seed flooded her mouth, and closed her mouth just in time to suck a bit more, even though she knew what was the sight he wanted to see.
As he pulled back, his cock was still twitching, spurting more and more of his virility in the valley between her mounds, until it slowly started to spill down, glazing her breasts with the sticky proof of his devotion.
And just as he thought he has seen it all, Raven dragged her finger across her breasts, hoping to catch as much of his cum as possible before it all drips to the bed. she parted her fingers to show the sticky strands between them before she closed her lips around them and made him collapse to his back from the simple act of tasting him.
- That was fun - she spoke, as most of his seed made it to her lips. - But you know what every cow needs, right?
Raven asked, lapping the last bit of cum from her tits. She leaned forward and with the same low, salacious tone as before, whispered the words that Beast Boy already had on his mind.
- Her bull...
His green body grew in a split of second, transforming him, but not in the form of the animal Raven expected. While his head became elongated and grew bovine horns, his torso and arms remained human, though much more muscular, and only the addition of hooves on his legs and a tail truly made her realise what he was now: a minotaur.
But of course, hooves and tail was not what piqued Raven's interest the most, as her eyes looked down at the figure towering over her.
This time, she could not stop herself and her lust; Raven licked a small droplet of drool that formed on her lips, and reached her hand to experience the enormous, throbbing organ whose glistening head was now once more inches away from her lips.
But her lover didn't want another blowjob. As steam-like cloud escaped his nostrils, Beast Boy grabbed her and effortlessly slammed her onto his cock, watching as the sorceress lets out a silent moan.
When he went down on her, Raven tried to maintain at least some dignity. But now, as her sex was filled completely with his monstrous cock, she threw all of the pretence away and babbled her lover's name, while the blots on her costume pulse violet each time his cock reached her depths, time after time, depraving her of common sense, as bliss slowly overtook her mind.
But not until she has managed to speak one last wish.
- D-Do what you are supposed to!
Raven screamed, her voice vibrating with the erratic thrusts her entire body was subjected to.
- Mate me! Breed me!
Another roar escaped his mouth, and Raven took a gasp of air just in time to expel it, as Beast Boy shoved himself deeper inside her throbbing pussy that before, firmly positioning himself as far as possible, right against her core, he now bathed in first deluge of his seed. And with his thick, monster cock forming an air-tight seal, not a drop of his virility could leak out, and was forced up into her womb. What would have been impossible for any other man became a child's play for him, letting Raven experience the impossible.
And with the flood of his warm seed filling her, came her orgasm, making Raven thrash around his cock, as if she was a puppet on his mercy. With each wave that flooded and promptly overflowed her sex, came a new sensation of being filled and claimed, and in turn, each simultaneously extinguished fire in her loins, and set it anew...
At some point, Raven fell back to the bed, feeling her pussy pulse with each after-wave of her climax, while Beast Boy's seed oozed onto the bed. She wasn't sure how long her after-glow lasted, but she knew what brought her back to her senses.
Her breasts were kissed again, with the same tender and care the minotaur would never learn. Beast Boy was his regular self, taking care of her body his monstrous form has neglected, listening to her breath slowly becoming less and less erratic.
She looked up and their eyes met, while Garfield locked his lips around her nipple again, drinking her orgasm.
- Hey.
- Hey. - she replied - I guess people were right, those cow costumes do work.
- Rae, you could dress like a platypus and you'd be sexy.
Raven smiled, and her hand reached to her lover's cheek, prompting him to leave her nipple.
Their lips met again, and though she thought she would be tired by now, she welcomed him again, especially as his hands now roamed her thighs and ass.
She let out another moan, seemingly far louder than a moment before, but maybe it was because her voice wasn't drowned by the beast's low grunts, but Garfield's borderline cute huffs.
And even though he was now much shorter and thinner than before, somehow Raven felt fuller than when a giant minotaur ravaged her. Maybe it was his kisses, dotting her breasts and lapping her milky fluid, maybe it was his delicate, but steady grip of his hands on her thighs... or maybe it was the unspoken promise they mentioned...
As they kept coming closer, the empath suddenly grabbed his cheeks and pulled him against her, not to kiss, but to find emotions raging in his mind. And she found them - those of love, protection, dedication and responsibility, which easily pushed her to the edge...
She cried out his name just as he flooded her again, this time with his essence, and even though Raven knew it was impossible, she somehow felt the difference in warmth that filled her sex.
As the two breathed in the same air, Raven gently moved her hand between her body, feeling the warmth of his body above her, and his cock and seed inside. She could undo the spell right now, and change their lives forever... And she had to admit, it would be a very apt moment... but then again, she would rob them of many, many heated moments like these.
It's a good thing she buddied up with Yellow as much as with Violet for this ride.
The two lay ion each other's arms for quite some time, savouring each other's scents and warmth, until Raven found strength and motivation to speak.
- So, got any more silly internet memes trending?
Beast Boy smiled and reached for his phone.
=============
Winter this year was snow-less, rainy and mild, like for the past half a decade or so. But that only made the New Year's eve less cumbersome, as it meant less time traversing through mounds of snow. Plus, it meant the Titans' Tower rooftop wasn't off limits.
- I thought this place, at this time would be the worst to meditate. - Beast Boy spoke - The whole sky's gonna be on fire in five minutes.
- Yeah, but maybe I wanted to watch.
He sat next to her, listening to far-away sounds of concerts and premature celebration. He scooted a few inches closer to her, and let out a short meep when her cape covered him.
- I wonder what this year will bring us. - he spoke, ruining the quiet, charming moment.
- I do - Raven answered quickly. - This year is gonna be of the tiger.
Raven spoke and undid a button of her cape that joined the two, freeing her breasts. Beast Boy swallowed loudly, seeing the moonlight shining onto her skin, and making her bosom look bigger with no additional magic required.
- Why don't we practice, kitty?
And with that, the night's air was filled with a powerful roar of a predator cat that has just found its very willing prey.

“Nightmares”
@rachel-goth
My first DamiRae fanfic. Short and maybe a bit too soft and cheesy but it’s always nice to read those
SFW
---
The day had been rough. Wake up early, cook breakfast, train, patrol, train, eat dinner, meditate, spar with Damian – rough, but standard. Nothing special had happened really. The streets of Jump City were calm lately, and this had the Titans worried. Worried that something big was being prepared, scared that if they let their guards down, they’d be attacked and that they would loose. And they were all too proud to let this happen. It was their duty to protect Jump City, so they had to stay prepared.
That meant training and regular patrols. Gar and Cyborg, Starfire and Raven, Damian by himself.
The usual.
Lately though, things had seemed to switch. Damian had changed the schedules. It now read “Gar and Cyborg, Starfire, Damian and Raven”. Everyone was surprised, Damian included.
One day, Raven was sitting on the couch, and Kori sprang behind her, making the younger girl jump and close her book with a grumble. She turned to look at Star, a small frown on her grayish figure. “Yes, Kori?” asked the girl, her book levitating away and resting on the closest table.
“Do you have the feeling of love for Damian?” the ginger woman asked, and Raven choked on her saliva. Cheeks red under her hood, hidden by the shadow cast by the latter. “Don’t be stupid, Kori. I could never like that brat” she mumbled and got off the sofa. “I really don’t know where you got that dumb idea” she mumbled, and walked away, not even taking her book with her.
This has happened a couple weeks ago, two months maybe. Slowly but steadily, the two of them had grown closer to one another. Nothing big, they could easily be taken for friends. But for Raven, who showed pretty much no emotions, and for Damian, who pretty much hated everyone, it was a big thing.
3 weeks ago, Raven was on the roof, as the run rose. She was meditating, and in the Tower, the roof was pretty much the only place where she could have the calmness she needed. The raising sun gave a fiery color to the sky, and hints of pink and purple could be seen in the fluffy clouds. The birds sang, the cars roared, and it was very nice outside.
She had been interrupted by a certain someone.
“Didn’t know you woke up this early” talked a familiar voice. One that made Raven grumble, her eyes opening. She pushed back the hood and stood up, turning to the one people called a “demon brat”.
“I do, Damian. Every day – I meditate. And you ruined it” She said and crossed her arms over herself. She was wearing her usual attire, her uniform, if you will. She stared at Damian, a light frown over her figure.
“Yeah, I figured. Say, you wanna spar?” he asked, seemingly out of nowhere. Raven frowned some more, visibly confused.
“You mean – here? On the roof? Right now? It’s like 6 am” she answered. Damian grinned, borderline smirked “Yeah. You got that right – must be the meditation helping your brain grow”
Raven practically shot lasers through her eyes and unclipped the hood from herself, letting it fall down to the ground. “Bring it on, Birdie” she said, a small grin on her lips. They both moved closer to another, and Raven did the first move. They fought for a bit, no one seemingly winning, until Damian pinned Raven to the ground in an awkward position – he was sitting on her legs to prevent them from moving, his hands pinned her wrists and his face stood inches away from hers. Their eyes crossed for a second, and they stared at each other, before the cheeks of both demons turned pink and they glanced away. After ten seconds, Damian sat up, dusted himself off and cleared his throat.
“Good fight, Raven” he stated, quickly leaving. Raven sensed his emotions for a second – he seemed troubled, nervous. She shook it off and put her cape back on, keeping on with her days.
A week ago, after Gar, Jaime and Kori left for a patrol, Raven and Damian were left to themselves. They watched a movie, and slowly, they inched closer to one another. For some unknown reason, they had kissed just as the team got out of the elevator. They had promptly separated, like if nothing had happened. Kori giggled, Gar seemed a bit jealous, and Jaime smirked. The two lovebirds left to their quarters for the night.
Back to tonight. After a long day, Raven had taken a shower and headed to bed. She and Damian were a bit awkward towards one another, but they were slowly getting closer to one another. Really, it was cute. Adorable.
After getting changed, Raven slipped under the covers. She closed her eyes, and just as she fell asleep, a nightmare hit her, full face. It felt so real. Like most of her nightmares, it was about her father, Trigon. And her as well. He managed to make her break, make her loose control of herself. She went berserk, and she killed the ones she loved. She killed Kori, Gar, Jaime… she killed Damian.
“Good job, daughter dear… Raven, I see you have finally embraced your true nature, the reason you have come to this earth… to cause chaos, for the Armageddon-“
Raven woke up with a sharp inhale, screaming “No!”. She was sweating, shaking, her heart and her head throbbed. She did not have the time to take a breath that Damian cracked open the door and slipped in the room, green eyes looking over at Raven, concern shining in his face. Raven was about to cry, and Damian quietly made his way to the bed, sitting on the side, one of his hand resting on the girl’s back, rubbing it ever so slowly and softly, trying to be comforting. He was not good at this; he had no idea how comforting people worked.
Raven stayed silent for a little bit, and so did Damian. They both had no idea what to say. It was… awkward, slightly. But Damian didn’t want to go, and Raven did not want him to leave neither.
“I had a nightmare” she said quietly, in a whisper. “I went berserk, I killed everyone.” She added, in the same voice. She gazed away and caught Damian’s eyes. She stared into them for a moment, feeling a warm feeling washing over her. She looked away. She was scared she’d hurt him. Scared she’d see the light in these beautiful eyes fade one day. Scared it would be her fault.
Damian could see the sadness in Raven’s eyes. He stopped rubbing her back and every so gently pulled her into a tight hug, one hand behind her head, pressing her softly into his chest, into his embrace. Raven threw her arms around him, stuffed her face in his shirt and felt a couple tears go down and being absorbed in the white fabric. She closed her eyes, let out a soft sob. Damian played with her hair, rubbed her back.
“It’s okay Raven. It was just a nightmare. It won’t happen” he whispered in her ear, letting his chin rest on top of her head. He rocked her slowly.
“Don’t go away” the girl replied, and Damian nodded “I won’t. I promise I won’t leave you if you don’t leave me. Promise me” he answered.
“I promise” she said. Damian nodded in approval, and gently laid her on her bed. He slipped under the cover with her, pulling her closer.
“You’re the little spoon today, and I’ll be next time” he whispered, her hair in his face, tickling his nose. He wrapped his arms around the girl and pulled her into him until every part of their bodies touched and merged as one. He closed his eyes, and so did Raven.
“I love you, my beloved”
“I love you too Dami”

Honey 9
Well well well this series of disconnected one shots is getting a little meat to it lol
Raven tries running a million solutions in her head as she flies quickly to her teammates.
She could teleport the sparring pairs to different locations but her brothers could always teleport back.
She could form a solid dome around the sparring pairs but holding an impenetrable barrier that wide for too long would leave her incapable of doing anything else to help the situation.
She could try to come up with a spell to counteract Malchior’s spell but that could take hours and they didn’t have the time.
She could-
Her thoughts are cut short when one of Starfire’s light beams zaps a couple inches in front of her nose and knocks down a tree several feet away. She curses. Barrier it is.
She plants both her feet on the ground and closes her eyes.
“Azarath. Metrion. Zinthos!”
The barrier isn’t the strongest, and she’s pretty sure she sees one of Starfire’s light beams break through just as she erects it but it’s better than nothing.
“Titans, the park’s not empty!” she barks out through gritted teeth, stretching the barrier as Wrath tumbles away from Starfire. She would have thought they didn’t hear her seeing as they didn’t pause at her announcement but Starfire immediately stops using light beams and Cyborg retracts his cannons back into his body. They were clearly trying to revert to hand to hand which would slow the damage made to the park. But this also made them vulnerable to her brother’s energy blasts.
“Terra,” Raven calls through gritted teeth .
“On it,” Terra responds, already working to block off any energy blasts with mounds of Earth. Raven puts her whole body into maintaining a solid dome. The energy blasts that Terra doesn’t have time to block keep hitting her barrier. She feels like a rope that’s slowly being pulled apart string by string.
“Beast Boy?” Terra gasps when she finally finds herself close enough to Raven to ask. Raven, who was working on making the barrier around the group tighter, tries to determine whether soothing Terra’s concerns is worth the momentary lapse in concentration. She digs her heels harder into the ground.
“With Aqualad,” she finally responds, the muscles in her neck tense with the strain. She doesn’t have time to interpret the look Terra shoots her as Wrath’s giant body bulldozes into her force field. The dark energy vibrates around the whole team like a thin piece of metal. Raven bends her knees, clenches her eyes shut and pushes her hands out in front of her. She’s biting down so hard that she’s sure her teeth were going to sink into her gums.
“Agh!” she cries out, feeling as her energy is strained out of her through her skin. She knows she’s going to collapse but usually during battles she can measure the exact moment it will happen. This time it comes to her abruptly. Something breaks through her shield and instead of straining to fill the gap, all that black energy just collapses back into itself. It’s sucked back into her body all at once. She imagines this is what throwing up backwards would feel like. She falls into the ground, scrapping her palms with pebbles as she tries to soften her sudden descent. Her skin feels paper thin. See-through. Her insides exposed. She gasps for breath, bringing her knees to her chest. She gasps again, trying to clear the black spots from her vision. Her teammates are a blur of colors forcing her to close her eyes.
She feels a stabbing pain sprouting from her ribs; the pressure makes her cough and gasp. She rolls over on her back hoping to get more air in her lungs, only to have someone sit their full weight on her stomach, pinning her elbows with their knees.
“Charming little makeshift amulets you made for your little friends,” Malchior hisses, tapping the jewel on her forehead. She turns away from his touch so abruptly that her world spins. Where’s Garfield? She tries to move her head to look for him but Malchior grabs her chin roughly. She wiggles beneath him.
“It’s something I would have thought of myself in my beginning years of mystical practice. Of course I probably would have noticed how ill equipped those charmed amulets would be to protect my nonhuman friends. Cruel of you to leave the green one so exposed to your brothers’ manipulation.”
Raven stills.
“Changeling is human,” she mumbles mostly to herself. Her amulets would protect him. Malchior grins, his eyes squinting with incredible mirth for such a dark soul.
“Is he always dear?”
Raven clenches her fist so hard that she’s sure she breaks skin. Her throat is tight with the urge to punch the “dear” right out of his mouth.
“Yes,” she bites out. Malchior sucks his teeth, looking at the sun above them. He looks back down at her and her stomach turns.
“You’re still so naive. It makes me want to devour you,” Malchior says, running a finger down her neck. She wiggles away.  He smiles, moving his hand away. “I knew what I wanted when you found me in that book. I wanted out. And then you opened yourself to me. And at first, I took simply to satisfy my basal carnal desires for flesh. A man gets lonely after being imprisoned so long.” Malchior looks towards the sun again, his smile fading in thought. After a few moments, she tries to move her head again to look for Garfield, but he snatches her chin roughly.
“I still had every intention of getting out. But you, my dear, would have been nice to have too. The last piece to my puzzle,” he says, running his thumb over the corner of her lips.
It is the last straw for her.
He touches her so wontedly. As if she was an extension of his body.
She is tired of the condescending speeches.
The way he looks down on her but still trailed his eyes over the curve of her breast.
She feels a scream locked tight between her clavicles.
He kneels above her now, a physical embodiment of the weight she’s carried since she was fifteen.
A shame that should have never been hers.
He looks like a giant from this angle.
She stills completely, looking him directly in the eyes.
“You will not pin me down any longer,” she says, and her eyes grow hot with power. Something in her mind just aligns, like all her emotions have come to the center of her mind to get this man off of her. She propels his body into the air, pinning him down at each limb.
“Eripe animam, flere sanguine venire ad me, et ponam te in somnum-” Malchior’s eyes widen, his lips part. “Et stabit de domino vestro, aliquis. Et stabit de domino vestro. Audite vocem meam.”
And suddenly he’s unconscious and she is clutching a clay figurine tight in her hand. She opens a portal and his body is swallowed up beneath her.
She closes up the portal and her knees sink in the soft grass where his body once was. She digs her palms into the earth and breathes. Deeply, fully.
Painfully.
What did she just do?
“Now is not the time for silent contemplation!” Terra digs her fingers into Raven’s arm dragging her to her feet. “You said he’d be protected! Now help me do whatever the fuck it is you just did with the dragon.”
Terra gestures wildly to the scene in front of them. Raven’s limbs grow cold as a pained roar practically rumbles the ground beneath them. She looks up just in time to see Nightwing’s weapon dislodging itself from the Beast’s shoulder. Chunks of flesh and blood spurt out of the wound, matting his green fur.
“The Beast,” Raven mumbles. Terra shoves her. Raven can feel Terra’s hot anger like it was an iron in her own core.
“No fucking shit. Aqualad passed out. It took your boyfriend two seconds to take this thing out of Gar. You know how fucking hard it is for him to keep that under wraps!” Terra yells, her finger digging into Raven’s sensitive chest. Raven backs up, more overwhelmed by the waves of distress coming off the changeling’s girlfriend than threatened. Unshed tears make Terra’s eyes shine like crystals. They don’t fit with the crumpled paper that is Terra’s expression.
Raven side steps Terra with the intent to join the fray.
And then she sees the destruction all around them.
Her lips part.
Her eyes land on the crisped back of a man. There is no telling what age he was. He is laying on his stomach. Raven almost thought he was a rock. His skin is textured and misshapen, bits peeled off to reveal sensitive pink flesh underneath. He is charred, the only color on him is the remnants of his blue shirt that didn’t burn off of him. The rest melted into his skin.
Raven puts a hand over her lips and takes a couple instinctive steps towards him.
Terra grabs her elbow gently. Raven looks towards her.
“I checked him already,” Terra says. Raven has trouble pinpointing what Terra is feeling. The anger is still simmering inside of her, but her sadness and defeat is also heavy on Raven. And then she feels something really soft and tender, right in her heart...Terra’s empathy. Raven throat is blocked. She can only mouth the words ‘I’m sorry.’ Terra nods.
 Raven resumes her jog towards her team.
“Who was next to him? Wrath?” Raven asks over her shoulder.
“The long haired one.”
“Envy?” Raven asks, looking over her shoulder with one eyebrow cocked. Garfield certainly had his bursts of jealousy but envy is much more deeply seated in people.
“Yeah if that’s the long haired one,” Terra says, keeping up with Raven’s pace.
“You should stay back, the Beast is unpredictable.”
“Oh like I did before?” Terra asks sarcastically, her red hot anger poking holes through what Raven can sense is a remarkable effort to be respectful. Raven pushes forward.
She’s near the Nightwing and Changeling when the world gets tilted sideways. She hears a crack as her shoulder bangs painfully against the ground. A suffocating weight lands on top of her. The little breath she has in her lungs escapes her quickly.
“The end is near sister,” Wrath says, pinning her. She phases through the ground and moves herself behind him. From the corner of her eye she sees a flash of blonde hair. Terra is engaged in her own tussle with Lust.
Where’s Starfire?
“Your friend is unconscious. For now. She is a formidable opponent and an impressive warrior. She’d make a great addition to our plan. She just needs someone to tap into that thinly veiled anger in her.”
Raven clutches the clay figurine in her hand very firmly.
“I’ll never join you,” she says, her voice even despite having no time to catch her breath. She’s taking gulps of air but she still doesn’t feel the oxygen travelling through her body. Her shoulder is burning, bringing tears to the corners of her eye. “So what is the point of all this?”
Wrath’s face is even. He holds his arms behind his back and stands with perfect posture. Nothing about him indicates that Starfire put a dent in him but Raven is certain they were an even match. She clenches her fingers around the clay figurine tighter as irritation begins to bubble beneath her skin. She knows the exact moment Wrath can sense it because his lips curl on both ends.
“Because I’m angry,” Wrath says. She doesn’t even see his chest rise when he breathes. He doesn’t move an inch.
She thinks of the body behind them.
A man who was just enjoying the nice weather at the park. Maybe walking his dog. Hopefully not with his family. And now there were pieces of his skin, shriveled up like crumpled up straw covers hanging off of his body.
The worst thing is that Wrath didn’t have to manipulate her.
She screams.
It comes straight from her chest, rips through her inflamed throat.
 She can feel herself lifting off the ground, propelled by the black tentacles that have emerged from beneath her cloak. She towers over her brother.
“You pathetic imbecile. Trigon will never respect you,” she booms, feeling her anger diffuse through her, solidifying into dark energy that surrounds her in clouds.
Wrath doesn’t move. Even when one of the tentacles whips towards him and wraps itself tightly around his neck. Raven squeezes it tighter.
“I can snap you.”
“You think us terrible. Pure evil. You think the world would be better without us,” Wrath says, even tone, looking like he might as well be in a cradle even though Raven’s grip is making the skin of his neck red. “There are some humans we do not even have to touch, sister.”
“And there are some that you do.”
“And there are some that we do,” Wrath agrees in a low voice. “Some people are good because they are good. Some people are good because they fear what will become of themselves if they do something bad. We only serve to make people forget the consequences. We give them free will. Isn’t that what everyone deserves?”
Raven feels herself shrinking back to her regular height, her grip on her brother’s neck loosening.
“Asking people to make decisions when they have a distorted view of reality is not meritable.”
 “Is it distorted? Can you  honestly purport that this is your reality when there is another side of you vying to be at the forefront? What if you are the one with a clouded view of reality?”
Raven lowers him completely. He’s wrong. She knows it.
“Your red headed friend is awake,” Wrath says, his hands resuming their position behind his back. He smirks a perfect slant. “And she’s angry.”
Of course I probably would have noticed how ill equipped those charmed amulets would be to protect my nonhuman friends. Malchior’s voice rings in her head.
Shit. Raven thinks turning just in time to see Starfire, hunched over, running towards the pair at full speed. Her red hair billows behind her like a racehorse. Raven has always known that Starfire is well trained. She is probably the physically strongest of the group. But knowing is different than seeing the muscle of her thigh flex underneath her skin as she runs at you full force.
Raven assesses what she can now understand is a broken arm. She still feels off center from her momentary lapse in control with her brother, like all the molecules in her body are vibrating at a different frequency. This is going to be fun. She bends at the knees, summoning whatever is left of her dark energy to her fingertips and braces for impact.
But Starfire veers left when she reaches the pair.
She hits Wrath at the knees with the full weight of her body.
“You touched her! Who do you think her anger was directed at, imbecile?!” Lust bellows from across the field. He’s distracted enough for Terra to literally rip the ground from underneath him. Raven hears a crack as Lust falls on his head.
“Go!” Terra yells, gesturing to the Beast. Raven looks around, making sure all her brothers are evenly matched before running towards Nightwing and Changeling.
She hears a yowl as she approaches causing her to quicken her pace. Nightwing is crouched down, one arm extended toward the Beast. Nightwing looks ready to pounce, one had on the ground as if he is regaining energy from it. There is a long scar across his cheek that’s bleeding down his neck.
The Beast’s fur is charred and matted in many spaces. Patches of fur are missing on his abdomen. He tears out the throwing star Nightwing swung at him and gives a full chested roar that almost makes Raven tumble backwards. Glistening sharp teeth are bared. Saliva stretches from one lip to the other.
And then the pair are charging at each other.
Raven puts herself between them, erecting the biggest force field she can.
“Raven get out of the-” Nightwing begins, the sentence dying on his lips as the Beast takes an open clawed swipe at Raven’s side, causing her force field to collapse back into her for the second time that day. She falls to the ground, out of breath. Tears fall down her cheeks as sharp pain shoots down her broken arm. She can hear as the Beast paws hit the ground but can only see the outline of his blurred green figure pass her through the spots in her vision.
She wants to lay down.
She’s tired.
Her entire body hurts.
She wants to lay down.
She wants to lay down.
She gets up with her good arm and blinks a couple of times.
Her cloak is tattered.
There are three long stripes on her side, oozing thick warm blood that stains her leg. She winces. Gritting her teeth and ignoring the resistance from her broken arm, she rips off the end of her cloak and ties it around her waist, covering the wounds as best she can. She gets up on her knees, her legs shaking beneath her. Inhaling deeply, she gets up fully and wobbles towards Nightwing and the Beast again.
“Raven-” Nightwing warns, noticing her from the corner of his eyes. Raven ignores him, walking slowly towards the Beast who is just getting up from whatever it was Nightwing just threw at him. The Beast sways briefly as he gets up on his legs. He shakes his head, putting a paw to it. Then retracts it to reveal blood. The Beast snorts, nostrils flaring. Giant green paws touch the ground again.
“Raven-” Nightwing warns again.
And then the Beast is charging.
Raven stands still waiting for him to get closer.
Then she summons whatever energy she has left and forms a force field around them.
The Beast is stunned, pausing mid run to look at the black bubble around them. His mouth closes and he lets out a little whimper.
Then he looks at her.
His chest expands. A roar rips past his lips as he lunges towards Raven.
He stops when he’s just half a foot from her. Raven stands still, trying to pull herself past the screeching pain in her side.
He’s on all fours. She looks down at his muscles which are tight beneath his fur. Drool dribbles down his jaw. Many of his wounds are still bleeding. Some of them still have bits of the metal Nightwing launched at him still stuck in them. He’s breathing heavily.
“Neither of us can go on like this for much longer Garfield. You’re going to have to fight this urge.”
The Beast roars again, and Raven feels specks of saliva hit her face. Her hair blows back at the forces. Her ears ring. The Beast sticks its chest out, his claws digging up chunks of the ground.
“I can’t go into your head. I don’t have the energy,” she says, looking into the Beast’s eyes. They’re completely black and small, overshadowed by his thick furry eyebrows. Raven can see herself in them. Tears push past her lower lids again as she painfully raises her wounded arm and puts her fingers in between his eyebrows. Her blood stained fingers get lost in his green fur.
“I’m in a lot of pain right now Garfield,” she says very softly, not used to the tremble in her voice. “I won’t be able to help the team much longer. Please...we need you.”
She holds her breath, her fingers twitching.
It’s silent
And then the Beast howls again, long and loud. She flinches as she hears bones cracking and watches as Garfield’s muscles shift underneath his skin. The Beast’s body shrinks. Raven breaths out, falling to her knees as Garfield does. His body shivers back into its human form. He’s on all fours still, head turned towards the ground. His howl turns into a scream.
“Changeling,” she asks, her hand is on the top of his head. She removes her wounded arm with a soft yelp. Her other hand reaches out and runs behind his ear and underneath his jaw. She lifts his head so he can look at her.
His eyes are pink and watery. His face crumples up in a wince as he sits back on his feet. His uniform is tattered and she can barely see any purple underneath all the blood. A breath passes her lips as she hovers her hand over all of his wounds. He peeks at her through one eye. Then this ridiculous, completely misplaced grin stretches across his face.
“Garfield?”
“Do you think Nightwing is going to take this out on me during training?”
She wants to yell at him for joking.
She really does.
But suddenly her head feels very heavy.
She blinks a couple of times.
Garfield’s face goes out of focus.
Her chin hits her chest.
She feels herself falling forward.
And that’s all she remembers.

How to slide into DMs
Oh boy. This is the longest one-shot I have ever written. Would have wanted to break this up into chapters but eventually decided not to and just gave it my all. This is a story best consumed whole - all 85k+ characters of it.
I had the best time writing this.
~~~
Raven knew that drinking one margarita too many was a recipe for disaster. And as she would later reflect on the turn of events, Raven knew she was partly to blame for the disaster that would unfold thanks to all the alcohol. But right now, it was Karen’s birthday and it was rare for the girls to come together – unless the world was just about to explode and end. So, Karen demanded that they celebrate in style.
And drink Raven did.
So here they were, a couple of superheroines dressed in skimpy bikinis on a yacht far out from Jump City’s bay (how Jinx even got one was beyond her), drinking frozen margaritas, mojitos, and tequila shots. They looked like an image straight from every young teenage boy’s (or hot blooded adult, really) wet dream – superheroines in skimpy bikinis lounging around on the boat, draped over beanbags and recliner chairs, and sliding ice cubes between the valleys of their breasts trying to fight off the sweltering heat.
Some Ke$ha was playing in the background, thanks to Starfire – who had Jinx to thank for her latest music genre obsession.
Raven cracked an eye open as Jinx passed by her and plucked her empty margarita glass out of her hand. A frosty glass quickly slipped into her hand she eyed the frozen drink with a slight frown.
“Live a little, Raven,” Jinx winked and adjusted the straps of her strappy black bikini before plopping down into the cushions next to Karen. Her mojito dangerously sloshed around in its glass because of her jerky movements.
“Exactly,” Raven sat up and took a sip from the deliciously cold alcoholic beverage and found some relief from the sweltering heat. She wondered if it would be best to just dump the whole frozen margarita over her head. “I want to live.  And not die because of liver failure,”
“Pish-posh,” Karen took a healthy swig of her margarita. “We metabolize this shit faster than we drink it. Hit me up, Jinx,”
Raven was impressed that Karen still knew what metabolize meant as she watched the curly haired woman dump half of her margarita down her bikini top. “Of course we do,” she said.
Starfire ambled back onto the deck with a pitcher of frozen margarita and mojito in both of her hands. Karen and Jinx cheered at the sight of more alcohol and Kori clumsily set out to top everyone up again. Raven eyed her drink absently wondering if Kori snuck in a shot of mustard into their drinks.
“So, Kill, Fuck, Marry,”
Raven cringed. Leave it to Jinx to come up with the crudest games. Karen howled and Kori leaned forward curiously, obviously already familiar with the game. Jinx grinned widely as she eyed the girls.
“Oliver Queen, Barry Allen, Bruce Wayne,”
Raven made a face and Karen cheered while Jinx chuckled lecherously. Kori looked as she was genuinely mulling her answers before downing her margarita and taking a generous sip out of a mustard bottle. Raven felt her stomach roll. “I shall go first!” Kori announced.
“Marry Bruce Wayne, Fuck Oliver Queen, and Kill Barry Allen,” announced Kori while filling her margarita glass to the brim.
Karen made a face. “You’d marry your future Father-in-Law?”
Kori shrugged and sipped her mustard-laced margarita. “Better than sleeping with him, right?”
“Huh, that makes sense,” Karen shrugged.  “Okay. I’ll Fuck Bruce Wayne, Marry Barry, and Kill Oliver,”
Three sets of eyes curiously turned to Raven. Jinx leaned forward and grinned mischievously. “C’mon, Raven,”
Raven rolled her eyes and thought of her options. “Fine,” she huffed and downed the rest of her margarita. If they were all getting drunk, she might as well join the party. “Fuck Oliver, Marry Barry, and Kill Bruce – sorry, Star,”
Kori was now lounging on her side across some throw pillows that made her boobs stick up more. Waving her hand that she honestly did not care, Kori continued to listen in on the conversation and drank her poison of choice.
“Still not a fan of the Bat?” Karen whistled. They knew about Raven’s history and how originally Batman had been apprehensive of her and her origin.
Raven rolled her eyes and had her powers top up her margarita glass. “Oh, I’m over that,” she shrugged and leaned back in her recliner. “I don’t think I can handle Bruce’s brooding and secrecy. I got enough of that already,” Raven said. She quirked and eyebrow at Karen. “Besides, have you seen Oliver Queen?”
Karen rolled her eyes. “Have you seen Bruce Wayne?” She clumsily threw both of her hands up in the air and drew them out, dousing Jinx in some of her margarita. “Those broad shoulders!” Kori hummed loudly in agreement.
Jinx looked incredulous. “What’s wrong with all of you?” she all but gasped. “I’d Fuck Barry Allen in a heartbeat – hello, The Flash! His body vibrates!”
Raven raised of her eyebrows at the thought and they all shared a brief look. Karen leaned forward and placed her chin into her hand. “Well, Raven and I are marrying him, so he can vibrate for us all day, every day,”
Crossing her legs, Raven had to agree with that logic. She raised her glass in agreement. Kori looked thoughtful and tilted her head towards Jinx. “Perhaps I should change my answers,”
Karen laughed. “No take backs,”
“Okay, this one,” Jinx nursed her mojito. “Cyborg, Nightwing, Changeling,”
Raven rolled her eyes. “Kill Changeling, Marry Cyborg, Fuck Nightwing.” She shrugged. “Easy. Sorry, Kori, Karen,”
Karen waved her hand dismissively. “Same answer, easy.”
“Marry Nightwing,” Kori smiled at the thought but then paused as she mulled over the other two. “Perhaps Fuck Cyborg, Kill Changeling,”
Jinx looked exasperated at the girls. “Really? Have none of you seen Gar lately?”
Raven threw her a withering glare. “If you’re going to say anything about his transformations and sex will push you off this boat and drown you.”
Jinx rolled her eyes and waved her hand with her mojito glass. The mojito sloshed around and spilled over her leg. “When did Gar get an those chiseled abs?! Delicious. That’s all I’m saying.”
Raven wrinkled her nose. “Eh.”
“Oh, I know,” Kori sat up and helped herself to some more margarita from the pitcher. Karen watched in disdain as she added a splash of mustard to hers. “Jason Todd, Tim Drake, Richard Grayson,”
“Duh.” Jinx said. “Fuck Jason Todd,” she paused to take a sip from her drink. “Eh – I guess Marry Richard, and Kill Tim,”
“I’d go for Fuck Richard,” Karen turned to Kori and sent her an apologetic grin. “I’m sorry Kori, but that ass,” to which Kori gave her a drunken thumbs up sign. “Marry Jason, Kill Tim. Same logic – Marry Jason for those thighs,”
Raven was starting to feel the buzz of the margaritas on her brain. She had to agree that all the Robins were good looking. “Fuck Jason, Marry Tim,” It seemed that they owed a lot of apologies to Starfire. “Sorry Kori, Kill Richard,” Dick had gotten on her nerves lately with his complaints over their training drills. Might as well hypothetically kill him and fuck and marry his brothers so he could roll in his grave.
“You know while it's totally fun to objectify the men ones in a while and talk about who we want to sleep with, Imma go for a pee break. Hold on for one second. Keep those thoughts of Dick’s ass and Jason’s thighs on your dirty little minds, ladies,” Jinx stood up and stumbled away.
“You better not jump into the ocean and pee,” Karen called her out with an amused laugh, to which the pink head raised her hand and sent her the middle finger.
Raven rolled her eyes in exasperation. Eyeing the empty pitchers of margaritas and mojitos, she wondered if she should offer to go and make another round. Jinx had made sure to stock enough of alcohol to light a bonfire – or at the very least light the whole yacht on fire.
Realizing that Kori was rendered useless right now as she lay sprawled over the pillows and it would be rude to have the birthday girl prepare her own drinks, Raven sighed and grabbed the two empty pitchers. She was surprised how fast they went through their drinks.
“I’ll make us something more to drink since we’re drinking this like water,” Rave announced and walked towards the minibar.
Karen smiled up at Raven. “Thanks, Raven,”
Raven threw Karen a rare smile. “You’re lucky it’s your birthday. Happy Birthday, Karen,”
“I’m back, what did I miss?” Jinx appeared from below deck and she rejoined the group. Seeing how Raven was busy with their drinks, she grabbed Karen and Kori and pulled them up. “C’mon, let’s take some photos. We need to put these sexy bikinis to use,”
Kori giggled. “For the ‘graham, yes?”
“For the ‘Gram, Kori. For the ‘Gram,” Karen grinned.
Pushing them towards the boat’s railings, Jinx grinned. “You can send some photos to Dick, Kori. I’m sure he’ll appreciate them,” She wiggled her pink eyebrows. “Get the blood flowing,”
Karen rolled her eyes. “And here I was thinking you can’t get any cruder,”
Kori gamely handed Jinx her phone. “I believe Dick would like them,”
“Of course Dick would,” Jinx grinned and winked before telling Kori where to stand and how to pose.
Raven joined them with their drinks levitating behind her. Handing Karen her drink, she eyed Jinx and Kori in amusement. “Please don’t tell me we’re having a photoshoot,”
Karen tilted her head and tried to ignore Jinx’s instructions to Kori (“Those bewbs look awesome, Kori!”). She gave Raven a small laugh and took a sip of her margarita. “More like take photos for your boyfriend shoot,”
“Photos for Dick!” Kori chirped, happily slurping her mustard-laced margarita and cocking her hips to the side as she leaned against the railing.
“Photos for the dick!” Jinx grinned, throwing the two exasperated girls a dirty grin. “What? Like you never sent dirty photos to your boyfriends.”
Karen downed her drink in one go. “Not saying anything,”
Jinx stopped snapping photos of her and Kori and threw a wide grin at the retreating birthday girl, watching her get another drink. “I knew it!”
Karen returned with a particularly full margarita glass. She eyed the amused Jinx in exasperation. “I’m just saying if that’s what you and your partner do in private, that’s fine. No need to make a big deal out of it,”
Jinx waived her mojito around in agreement. “Exactly. We’re all adults here, right?” She pointedly ignored Raven’s raised eyebrow at her. “If we wanna spice up our relationships with sexy photos that get panties wet and boxers tented, then we can do so. What we do in our private lives is our business. No judgement,”
Raven made a face, looking scandalized. Leaning against the yacht’s window, she eyed the pink-head. “And then they get leaked,”
“If he leaks them, we magic their dicks into pickles,” Jinx shrugs nonchalantly.
Karen hoists herself up onto the railing, and expertly balances herself on the silver railing despite the number of margaritas she just downed. Her curly black hair whips around her as a gentle hot breeze brushes over them. “Sexy photos shouldn’t be the be all and end all of a relationship. But if you mutually want to show your junk to each other on photo and videos, there better be a lot of respect in that relationship and no pressure,” she said before taking a healthy drag from her drink.
“Like, if that’s how you want to improve your sex life, go for it,” Jinx shrugged and took Karen’s phone to take a few photos of her on the railing.
“Richard sends pics of the dick,” Kori suddenly announced, casually leaning against the railing and sipping her margarita. “They’re very exciting,”
Jinx laughed loudly, delighted at the revelation. “I bet they are,”
Raven shuddered. “Thanks for that mental image, Kori.” The idea of Richard taking photos of his crotch was not a pleasing thought. Raven downed her drink in one gulp. She was not too drunk for this.
“You’re welcome,” Kori chirped.
Jinx chuckled and stumbled past Raven. Refilling everyone’s drinks with her magic, she gabbed Raven’s phone and pulled out the camera app. “C’mon, Rae. Let’s take some photos of you,”
Raven frowned. “No,”
Completely ignoring Raven, Jinx grabbed her hand and pulled her towards the railing. She nearly knocked off Karen, who in turn drunkenly laughed and barely caught her balance. “Stand there, for the love of god, try to look sexy so we can post something on your painfully boring Instagram account,” instructed Jinx.
Raven frowned, taking offense. “My Instagram is not boring,”
Karen frowned and looked up from scrolling through her phone. “Girl, your last post was literally just a picture of a cup of tea,”
Raven glared and tried to ignore as Jinx took a couple of photos of her. Leaning against the railing, she took a long drink from her margarita glass. “I don’t see the point –”
“Point, shmoint,” Jinx waved her off. “Point is your hot. Hotter than your lousy, boring cup of tea that only got,” she looked over Karen’s shoulder and sent Raven a look of disdain. “Four likes – two of those are pity likes from Kori and Victor. Live a little, put that scandalously bikini-clad body on your Instagram because @RachelRoth needs to spice up the lives of your,” she paused again to look over Karen’s shoulder at Raven’s depressing Instagram account and her face fell a little. “24 followers. Seriously, 24, Rae?”
Crossing her arms under her breasts, Raven sent them a look of annoyance. “Who would I possibly add outside of our circle of friends?”
“I have over 600,000 followers on Instagram,” commented Kori, looking over Karen’s shoulder eyeing Raven’s social media account.
Karen grinned. “Of course you do, Hun. When you’re the fiancé of Richard Grayson, everyone wants to know what you guys are doing,”
Jinx furiously tapped on Raven’s phone. “Your online presence is depressing,” She gave her a pointed look. “You don’t even use dating apps,”
Raven looked incredulous. “Why would I use dating apps?” She downed her margarita and went for another one. “Do you have any idea what our jobs are like?”
“Girl, even your DMs are boring,” Karen looked utterly disappointed. Jinx, Kori, and Karen ignored Raven’s complaints and moved back to the lounge area, bending over Raven’s phone.
“Oh sure, go through my private messages.” Raven joined them and grabbed the pitcher of margarita. When had it become “Humiliate Raven Day” when it was actually Karen’s birthday? God, she needed more drinks
“It’s not like you’re sexting anyone,” Jinx rolled her eyes. “Have you not heard of sliding into someone’s DMs?” With the hand holding mojito glass, Jinx pointed an accusing finger at Raven. “This is why you are single.”
Raven threw her hands up in the air, sighing loudly. She staggered to her feet and grabbed both unsurprisingly empty pitchers. “You know, fine, whatever,” Raven, as she would later reflect on the turn of events, would realize this is where her mistake truly began. “Fuck it. Do whatever you want. Your yapping is annoying. I’ll go get us drinks.”
Jinx let out a little squeal and all three girls ducked over Raven’s phone. Jinx furiously typed on Raven’s phone and the three women shared a short laugh. Somewhere, in her lime margarita addled mind, Raven knew that this was a huge mistake. But she’d take care of her mistakes later, like the responsible drunk that she was.
After a few minutes of mixing drinks and making sure that she had refilled Kori’s disgusting bottle of mustard, Raven ambled back with the ice cold pitches and mustard bottle, and deposited everything on the glass table in the middle. Draping herself over a few lounge pillows, she eyed the amused ladies in front of her in disdain. “Give me back my phone,”
Jinx offered her a lecherous grin and tossed Raven her phone back. Thanks to her drunk reflexes, it slipped out of her hand and landed on her breasts before falling into her lap. “You’ll have to thank us,”
Raven grabbed her phone and quickly looked through her apps. “You better not have signed me up on Tinder,”
Her phone pinged a couple of times and Raven eyed her phone apprehensively. “What did you do?”
Jinx waived her hand as Kori and Karen giggled. “Nothing to get your panties bunched up,”
Her phone’s notifications went off a couple more times and Raven frowned. Ignoring the girls as they made plans to take a quick swim – which was also a recipe for disaster considering how drunk they were -  Raven focused on her phone and the notifications that kept on popping up.
Frowning, Raven opened up her Instagram and eyed the notification for new messages. Feeling a headache coming along – and not because of the margaritas she had downed – she opened up her DMs and her frown deepened.
“Why hello there,” @ImAliveJTodd sent her a reply. Raven warily eyed the wink, volcano, eggplant, and water droplets emojis.
She was torn between crushing her phone in her hand or screaming bloody murder at Jinx. “Fuck you, Jinx,” she said loudly, which she assumed the pink haired woman in question heard when Raven heard a faint cackle in the distance and a loud splash.
Jinx sent a photo of Raven in her black skimpy bikini to Jason Todd and what she could only guess a couple of other people in her friends list. Raven felt her head throb as she eyed the photo Jinx took of her. She wasn’t looking directly at the camera, probably at Karen, holding her margarita glass with her right hand and her hips leaning against the boat’s railings. The blue ocean behind her was a beautiful backdrop and somehow seemed to highlight her pale skin and bounce around her full curves. Raven wasn’t ashamed of her body, and she had to admit that it was a really nice picture, but she was not thrilled to have her photo so widely circulated. An innocent “Hey there” with a wink emoji accompanied the picture.
Growling as Jason sent her a string of emojis with some more volcano and eggplant emojis, she promptly sent him a message to fuck off and quickly deleted the conversation.
“Fucking Jinx,” mumbled Raven as she ignored the latest emojis Jason sent her. An eggplant and peach. And promptly blocked him.
Ignoring @GarTheBeast’s “Dude!” (with a fire emoji) and @VStone’s “Put some clothes on!”, Raven promptly replied to @RoyHarper’s GIF of a cartoon wolf whistling with a GIF of cartoon monster biting a man’s head off. Jinx had sent the photo to Garth, who had yet to reply. @WallyW sent her a couple of fire emojis, which she basically just ignored.
She event sent one to @BruceWayne. Fucking Bruce Wayne. Thankfully, he had not yet seen the message and Raven hastily deleted the picture. She was going to kill Jinx.
@ClarkKent had seen the image. Totally mortified, Raven quickly sent a brief apology and explanation to Superman.
“How many margaritas did you have?” @RGrayson sent her a reply.
Raven rolled her eyes. “Just enough for me to murder Jinx in a drunken haze.”
“Make sure to dump the body further out at sea since you’re already out there. Good luck.” @RGrayson sent her a thumbs up emoji. After a few minutes he quickly sent a follow up message. “Though, seriously. Don’t.”
Sighing loudly, Raven eyed her phone in disdain. Sliding into someone’s DM’s was too much work. She decided to block Speedy after he sent he a string of annoying GIFs. Eyeing her notifications, Raven discovered that Jinx had also posted her photo on her Instagram account. Her bikini-clad body stood out from all her admittedly boring content of coffee mugs and books.
As Raven’s phone vibrated ones more, she was just about ready to throw it into the ocean and hopefully hit Jinx over the head with it.
“Uhm, hi?” @TimDrake replied.
Raven groaned. Did Jinx send her picture to all the Bat Family members? Ready to just give Tim a piece of her mind, Raven furiously began to type a long essay that basically told him to piss off.
“Did somebody hack into Rachel’s account?” @TimDrake sent another message. At least Tim was smart enough to use her alias.
Raven paused and blinked, her finger hovering over the send button. Deleting her intended reply, she quickly sent her answer. “Hi. This is Raven. Jinx hijacked my phone. There might be murder later.”
“Oh. Well, good luck with that.” Tim replied.
“Hah.” Raven leaned back into the plush recliner. She stared at the screen as Tim seemed to work on an answer.
“Hide the evidence.”
“We never had this conversation.” Raven replied.
“Right. Never.” Emoji with lips zipped shut.
Raven felt her lips curl just a little bit as relief swept over her. Finally, someone sensible in this shitstorm. “Thanks.”
Raven dropped her phone onto her lap and took a hearty swig from her margarita. She was already drunk anyway – what was the point of slowing down now. In the distance she heard loud splashing and giggles from Kori and curses from Jinx. Raven silently hoped Kori somehow managed to drown Jinx. Eyeing the ocean from her spot under the shade, Raven decided not to join them.
Feeling herself relax just a little bit as the yacht rocked with the waves and the sounds of the ocean gently wrapped around her, Raven leaned back into the ridiculously comfortable recliner chair. Hearing the shrieks of laughter from her friends in the background, Raven bristled slightly at how Jinx thought she was boring. She ignored her phone as it vibrated against her sweaty thigh. So what if she liked posting tea cups and books on her social media feed.  Her margarita filled brain told her she could do exciting.
Picking up her phone, she ignored Jason’s text message (“Did you block me? Lol. Unblock me, Rae!”) and looked surprised as she got another message from Tim.
Opening up her DMs, she felt her lips curl lightly as she stared down at the image of a huge swimming pool surrounded by a lush garden she guessed found at the Wayne manor. “Not as amazing as the view you have there, but this ought to do.” The text below the picture read.
Taping her finger thoughtfully against her phone, Raven contemplated if she should send Tim a reply. Deciding that she really shouldn’t think too much about it, Raven took a photo of the lounge area in front of her, catching the nose of the yacht, the pitchers of drinks, colorful lounge chairs and pillows, and her right ankle and newly pedicured toes into the frame.
“That’s a lot of drinks!” replied Tim.
“It’s Karen’s birthday. Jinx has been plying us with alcohol.”
“Sounds like fun,” Raven snored at the GIF of drunk girls.
“Until one drunk girl drowns.” Raven replied. “May or may not be Jinx.”
Tim sent her a photo of a cold beer bottle he held up in front of the camera. “We live for danger. Cheers!”
Taking a photo of her own margarita glass, Raven sent it to Tim. “Cheers.”
She had met Tim a several times and among all the Robins she had met, he was perhaps the one of the most pleasant Robins to talk to. Except of course for Richard, with whom she still shared a special bond with. Jason was an explosion of emotions, and Damian still had so much to learn (and had such intense emotions for a 10-year-old). Tim was a welcome calm presence whenever they met and she truly enjoyed talking to him.
And, while this maybe the margarita talking, she honestly enjoyed the gentle press of interest she felt from Tim over the last couple of months they met on occasion. Raven took a long swig of her margarita, downing it, and she thought of Tim. As much as Jinx would like to tease her, she wasn’t blind and stupid as much – she knew what the gentle prod of emotions meant. And she actually enjoyed it.
Raven eyed the half empty pitcher of margarita in disdain, cursing at how open she felt. Fucking alcohol.
Her phone pinged and buzzed against her leg. Placing her empty margarita glass clumsily on the side table next to her, she picked up her phone and opened her DMs. And openly stared at the image of a smiling Tim Drake in the ridiculously huge Wayne pool, head and torso wet and leaning over the pool’s ledge. His muscular arm was folded over the ledge with this chin propped over it while his other arm was stretched out to take the photo. His long hair fell into his bright blue eyes and Raven’s lips pursed as the thought of wanting to push some of his hair out of his face crossed her mind.
“Time for a swim!”
Raven contemplated over what she should reply – and if she should reply at all. She eyed the photo a bit longer than she should have, taking in whatever defined muscle she could see. It was ridiculous how all the Wayne kids looked like magazine models.
“Enjoy!” she replied. She heard the girls’ drunken laughter in the distance and wondered if she should join them.
Her phone vibrated in her hand again and she stared at the profile picture of a smiling Tim Drake in a plain polo shirt. “Won’t you go swimming?”
There was a splash in the background and a shriek. Raven wasn’t all too sure if she wanted in on the drunken swimming. “Maybe later.”
“Okay. I’ll do a few laps for now. Enjoy your day, Rae.”
Raven locked her phone and placed it on the table in front of her. She heard a couple more splashes and shrieks in the background. Eyeing her phone momentarily and her thoughts slipped to Tim Drake in the Wayne Manor Olympic-sized swimming pool. Feeling a bit warm, and Raven honestly blamed the heat, she stood up and decided to go for a swim. Perhaps that would help her cool down a bit.
“Get a lot of DMs?” Jinx grinned wildly after Raven gracefully slipped into the water joined them in the water.
Raven swam over them and sent them a withering glare. “You sent Bruce Wayne my photo!”
“I’m sure he likes younger women,” Jinx shrugged nonchalantly.
Karen laughed. “I’m sure he does.”
Raven gave them a nasty look as if they were crazy. “You’re out of your minds.”
“Well, you obviously took your sweet time, so I’m guessing you got busy sending out replies.” Jinx wiggled her eyebrows.
Kori giggled in the background. “Who did you slide into, Friend Raven?” she asked.
“Slide into his DMs, Kori! Damn it. I did not slide into anyone!” Raven sent an exasperated look at an amused Kori.
“But someone might be sliding into Raven soon,” Jinx laughed.
Raven groaned and splashed a cackling Jinx with some water. “Jinx, stop it!”
Karen swam closer and laughed, narrowly avoiding a splash from Jinx. “But seriously, girl. Don’t leave us hanging. Did anyone reply to the messages we sent out?”
“Jason sent a string of eggplant emojis, if that’s what you’re asking,” Raven looked extremely annoyed as she swam in the warm water. Jinx and Karen laughed loudly.
“Eggplant emojis? Did he send you dick pics?” Kori sent her a look of surprise.
Raven looked scandalized. “Damn it, no, Kori! I thought we updated you on pop culture already,”
Jinx sent Kori a sly look. “Eggplants are dicks. But dick pics are dick pics, which you, sexy mama, are getting a lot of,”
Kori nodded. “I am,”
“Can we not talk about Richard’s penis?” Raven deadpanned.
Karen laughed and her sparkling brown eyes focused on an annoyed Raven. “Anyone else reply?”
“Roy sent a couple of GIFs and Wally a few fire emojis,” Raven rolled her eyes. “Apparently grown men cannot use words,”
Karen chuckled. “You’re too hot, Rae.”
“And no one else replied?” Kori eyed her curiously. “Not even Bruce?”
Raven flicked water at Kori. “No, god no. Bruce did not even see it,” she paused and shrugged. “Tim replied.”
Jinx lurched forward and her wrinkly hands wrapped around Raven’s arm. “Oh, ho, ho, ho.” She gave the annoyed woman a sly grin. “Tim Drake replied?”
“He slid into you?”
“Damn it, Kori. No!”
“I bet he will” Jinx winked at Raven.
Raven pushed some of her wet hair of her face in annoyance. “There’s no sliding into anyone. We just talked, that’s it.” She paused and frowned before pressing on with her margarita addled brain. “And besides, I don’t think he’s interested in me that way,”
Karen grinned and swam a bit closer to her. “And you are?”
“Tim is nice to talk to,”
Jinx rolled her eyes. “Then keep talking to him!” The pink haired woman groaned. “Do we have to take more hot photos of you and do everything for you? I swear, I’m gonna do it,”
Raven frowned. “Just drop it,”
With the sun slowly setting and after few more rounds of teasing and gossiping, the three women decided it was time for more alcohol and some of Karen’s birthday cake before they would head back to the island. Jinx and Karen led the way back to the yacht, climbing up the boarding ladder of the yacht and disappearing out of sight. Raven helped the uncoordinated Kori climb up the ladder before climbing up herself. Hoisting herself up on the transom of the yacht, Raven turned to climb up the ladder careful not to slip and potentially kill herself by hitting her head. As she reached the top of the small ladder, she stopped and frowned as Jinx and Karen had once again accosted her phone and took some photos of her as she struggled to safely climb back on board.
“What are you doing?”
“Tim Drake sent you a photo of him in the pool. Did you see those arms? You need to send something back,” Jinx said and snapped a few more photos.
“I’m sending you back in a body bag,” Raven announced as she frowned and pulled both her legs back on board and sat on top of the ladder. “Stop it,”
“Girl, your hot. You obviously like to talk to him, and he obviously likes to talk to you. And you’ve both been sending photos to each other.” Karen waved her hands around as emphasis. “Might as well have some fun. My spidey senses are tingling, I’m sensing something good,”
Raven frowned. “You’re a bee. And the only thing that’s tingling is your head from all the alcohol,”
“Send him one of the pictures I took. A photo of you wet is gonna make him wet,” Jinx tossed Raven her phone, which she clumsily caught in between her wet hands.
Sending Jinx a nasty glare, Raven ignored the comment and sank into one of the pillows as the rest of the girls busied themselves in getting more drinks and Karen’s birthday cake. Browsing through the photos Jinx took of her, she silently wondered if she should send Tim one back. He did send her a photo of him swimming – and it would be only fair to send in a quick update of her swim as well. Right? Of course her margarita brain agreed.
Picking the one where she sat on top of the ladder with her looking at the camera with a neutral expression (all others had her frowning at Jinx) and with a full view of the ocean and the sun setting behind her, she sent the photo to Tim. “Went for a swim.”
Dropping her phone on to her lap, Raven watched as the girls returned with more drinks and a chocolate cake. Depositing everything onto the glass table, they all gathered around the table to grab more drinks and a few slices of cake.
Raven was half asleep and half listening to Jinx narrate her recent undercover mission where she had to “seduce a rich asshole” when her phone pinged and vibrated against her leg.
Picking up her phone, Raven pulled up her DMs and blinked as she stared at the little heart emoji on her photo she sent to Tim. “That’s a really beautiful view.”
Did he mean just the ocean and sunset behind her? Or was that a compliment that included her? A shiver ran down her back. Was he flirting?!
“Aww,”
Raven locked her phone and glared as Jinx leaned over her shoulder to steal a glance at Raven’s DMs. Pointing her finger at Raven with the mojito glass still in hand, the mojito sloshed angrily around the glass, Jinx wiggled her finger. “I told you, he’s into you.”
Raven dropped her phone next to her. “He’s into girls that look like drowned rats in a bikini,”
Karen rolled her eyes in exasperation and picked up Raven’s phone and tossed it back at her. “From the way you’ve been talking, it doesn’t seem like he’s just talking to because you’re in a bikini. And besides, you know Tim – he’s actually nice. You’d Marry him in our Kill, Fuck, Marry game. I don’t see where the problem is.”
Jinx shrugged and helped herself to another mojito and a cake slice. “And if he sends you photos, you have the choice to respond or not. Do whatever the two of you enjoy,” she paused and took a sip. She sent Raven a wink. “But you should send him more pictures to make him hot and bothered. Because it should be fun to make him squirm just as it should be fun for you to get your panties wet with his photos,”
Leave it to Jinx to make the crudest advice. “Whatever,” Raven mumbled and tuned out them out as they started to make plans to head back to the bay. Placing her empty margarita glass on the table in front of her, Raven turned to her phone and turned it on again. Looking at Tim’s reply, she pondered if she should take on Jinx and Karen’s advice and continue talking to Tim and if this was all worth her time and energy. In her drunk mind, Raven reasoned that she did like him, so it was well worth a shot.
“Thanks!”
Dropping her phone next to her and listening to Jinx haphazardly commandeer the yacht back to the Titan’s Bay, Raven leaned back into the soft cushions. Her phone buzzed softly against her thigh and she eyed it momentarily before picking it up again. Opening up her DMs, she decided to see where this would take her.
~
Raven groaned as her alarm clock blared loudly and she fought the urge to blow it up with her powers. While her demon heritage easily burned off most of the alcohol from yesterday, she still felt some of the side effects of drinking countless margarita pitchers that could easily induce alcohol poisoning to regular human beings. Slipping out of her bed, Raven made quick work in getting ready before grabbing her phone and heading into the kitchen.
“Morning,” Dick sent her an amused smile over his breakfast cereal. He grinned as Raven scowled. “Did you have a good time yesterday?”
Raven went on puttering around the kitchen, set on getting herself some toast and her herbal tea. She threw Richard a quick uninterested glance. “We had enough alcohol to drink an entire army under the table, we had cake, we were out on a boat miles away from Garfield, so yes, I had an excellent time,”
Dick chuckled. “And the DM?”
Raven rolled her eyes and sat down across of him by the counter.  Looking around the kitchen briefly, she assumed everyone was still asleep. “Jinx thinks she can make me ‘slide into someone’s DMs’,” she said before sipping her tea. “I shouldn’t have allowed her to take my phone.”
“Ah, the poor choices we make because of alcohol,” Dick tutted. Placing his elbow on the table and propping his chin into his hand, he grinned at her. “So, did anyone slide into your DMs back?”
Raven frowned, not liking where this was going. “Some replied. Most were just a string of eggplant and water droplet emojis.”
“Why do I have a feeling I know who sent them?” Richard quirked an eyebrow. “Jason said that you blocked him on several platforms.”
“How do you know about that?” Raven eyed him curiously while she nibbled on her toast.
Dick held up his phone and waved at her. “We have a chat group. He’s been raving over your photo that Jinx sent out,”
She snorted. “Of course the BatKids have a chat group.” She silently wondered if Tim mentioned anything on the chat group. Standing up, she picked up her mug and headed towards the door. “I’m going up the roof to meditate. I’ll see you at training,”
Not waiting for Dick’s reply, she walked out of the kitchen and down the hallway. She felt that most of the tower’s occupants were still asleep. Once they got home from their day on the yacht, they still had a small celebration for Karen back at the tower organized by the boyfriend, Cyborg. It lasted well into the night with more drinks and poor life choices.
Opening the roof door, Raven welcomed the gentle dawn breeze from the harbor and sat down in a lotus position by the ledge of the tower. Fishing out her phone from her jean’s pocket, she eyed her phone with mixed emotions. She and Tim continued to exchange messages and a few photos through the party.
Switching to her DM’s she was surprised to see a message from Tim so early in the morning. As she recalled yesterday’s events, and the poor drunk choices that came with it, Raven winced as she went through her exchange with Tim. She unconsciously stopped at the last two photos of the night they exchanged – a blurry picture of her in her camisole buried in her pillows looking both less than glamorous and incredibly sleepy (a picture she sent as a reply to his “Aren’t you going to bed?”) to which he sent his own picture in bed, shirtless with his tousled long hair falling into his eyes, giving her an incredibly dazzling sleepy smile. “Good night.” Raven would admit that the picture of a shirtless Tim Drake jolted her awake briefly. She stared at well-defined shoulders.
While she was pretty sure that their whole exchange was innocent enough, Raven felt like it opened a floodgate of so many scenarios that she may or may not be ready for.
“Good morning!” Tim had sent her a photo message of Gotham City’s skyline as the city sprang to life with the bright orange glow creating silhouettes of skyscrapers and other buildings. Gotham, despite its dark secrets, was still a very beautiful city.
She smiled at the picture. Picking her camera option, she took a picture of the Jump City bay as the rising sun created a rainbow of colors across the sky and ocean. “Good morning.”
“Hungover?”
Raven smiled. “Metabolized almost everything. Perks of being half-demon.”
“Such perks.”
“I’m going to meditate. We have training soon.” She told him.
Her phone vibrated softly in her hand and she looked down at Tim’s reply. “Don’t beat up Dick too much.”
The corners of her lips quirked in amusement and she placed her phone next to her. Feeling warm and content, Raven slipped into a calm meditative trance. As she centered herself and felt herself calm and her emotions settle down around her, she couldn’t help but think how talking to Tim Drake wasn’t all too bad.
~
Raven sat on top of a modern commercial building and eyed the alley below her in complete boredom. Dick had them on stakeout for the past three hours to crackdown a human trafficking cartel in the city and so far they had not even heard a mouse breathe. Apparently one of the buildings in the district was one of the common trading grounds of the cartel but save for rats running around the alley, there was zero movement in her zone. Either someone must have tipped the cartel off or there was no activity that evening.
“Anything?” she heard Dick as through their comm device.
“No, man.” Victor replied sounding as tired and bored as her. “I think we should call it a night.”
“No action in my end,” Beast Boy said. He tried and failed to hide a yawn. “This is boring.”
“Nothing on my end too,” Kori said. “Perhaps we should move out, yes?”
“Raven?” Dick asked, ignoring the rest of the team’s silent please the abort the mission tonight.
Raven’s purple eye’s slipped down into the alley once more. She watched in disdain as a couple of dogs dove into a trashcan. “There are dogs eating trash down here,” she said.
They all heard Dick’s frustrated sigh. They had been trying to track the cartel for a few days now and it’s been grating on everyone’s nerves. Raven could feel Dick’s frustration press into her. “Fine. 30 more minutes and let’s head back to the tower. Nightwing out.”
Their comm line went dead and Raven sighed softly into the cool evening air. She eyed the alley below her, trying to catch any suspicious activities. She watched as the dogs started to tear apart the trash and drag some foodscraps through the alley.
Bored, Raven turned her attention to the bright Jump City skyline. From where she sat on top of the building, the city was alive with lights at two in the morning and the moon shone brightly above the silhouette of buildings. Taking out her phone, she took a picture and sent it to Tim. They had started a habit of taking photos of sceneries and things they found interesting – she quickly learned that Tim seemed to enjoy photography and also appreciated her pictures of tea mugs (hah, take that Jinx).
“Nice! Still on patrol?”
Briefly looking down the alley to check for any activities. “Yes. Stakeout. Nothing has been happening for the past three hours.”
“Sounds boring.”
Her phone vibrated in her hands and she looked down at the image he sent back to her. She inhaled softly as she stared down at an image of thick muscular legs tightly wrapped in black pants and heavy combats boot dangling from what could possibly be a skyscraper. Past his legs and feet, she could see the bright traffic down below. It was actually a nice aerial shot. She stared at the telltale signs of his Red Robin costume and frowned as she saw a few injuries on the side of his right thigh. Their messages were encrypted so they could send messages to each other without worrying about being compromised.
“You’re hurt,”
“We saw Bane tonight.” He replied. “This is just a scratch.”
Raven heard the loud rustle of a garbage bag being torn open. She looked down at the alley and frowned. “That’s going to get infected.”
“It’s just a scratch,” He repeated. “Unless you want to come over and heal it?”
Raven stared at his message and felt a warm tingle run down her back. He always did this, Tim Drake had been doing this for a while now since that afternoon they had started messaging each other so many weeks ago – he’d find ways to slip under her skin. It was innocent enough. But still – Raven stared at the message and felt an excited shiver run through her.
“In your dreams, Bird Boy.”
~
Raven loved Kori dearly. She was her sister, albeit a complete opposite from her, but still her sister. But, as she stared at her reflection in the mirror at one of Jump’s most upscale wedding dress stores, Raven wondered if it wasn’t too late to cancel her friendship with Kori. She stared at the monstrosity of her Maid of Honor dress they had her try on and Raven felt herself suffocate in the sheer amount of lace, frills, and pink.
“Let’s see!” she heard Jinx snicker outside of her dressing room.
“No,” Raven snapped and struggled to zip up the dress from behind, trying to find the tiny zipper in the sea of lace and ruffles.
“Let us see your Flornarp dress,” Kori’s excited muffled voice drifted through the doors of her dressing room. She heard the sales lady ask “The what?” to which Karen hastily replied “Maid of Honor dress. Kori’s Finnish,”
Fishing out her phone from her bag, Raven pulled up her camera app and took a photo of herself in the mirror. She sent it to Tim. “Help.”
“Is there a cotton candy monster on the loose in Jump?”
“Funny.” She replied.
“C’mon, Rae!” Jinx sounded a little drunk. Which also wasn’t that much a surprise since the shop had offered them several bottles of champagne. “For the Wayne-Anders wedding only the best,” said the store manager.
“Yes, yes, calm down,” Raven mumbled and threw open the doors of her dressing room and all but stumbled out. Hearing Karen and Jinx poor attempt of stifling their giggles, Raven frowned and grabbed her champagne glass. She took a long swig while the rest of the girls studied her in the pink lump of a dress.
Kori stared at her. “Perhaps it’s too big, yes?”
Raven sighed and tugged at the frilly neckline. “Perhaps a dress that doesn’t look like it’s eaten me alive?”
Karen snorted. “Maybe something that looks less like Silkie?”
Finishing her champagne glass, Raven placed it back on the small glass table. Offering Kori an assuring smile, sensing that her friend was growing worried over their dress choices, “I’m sure we’ll find something better, Kori,”
Looking slightly relieved, Kori smiled and nodded. “Something with less ruffles?”
“Less frills and lace too,” Raven added kindly before slipping back into the dressing room. She heard Jinx say something about finding a hotter dress that showed more bewbs.
As she struggled to get out of her dress, Raven’s phone pinged. Letting half of her dress drop around her waist, she picked up her phone from the cushioned seat and opened Tim’s message. She felt her cheeks warm significantly and her heart jump against her chest as she stared at the image of Tim Drake in an impeccable tuxedo. His hair was tousled and fell into his amused blue eyes and he grinned into the camera as he took his own picture in the full length mirror. The boys were also at their own fittings, trying out tuxedos in Gotham City. Raven took a minute to drink in his broad shoulders and how his white shirt stretched over his chest.
“That’s not fair.” Raven hastily replied in a flurry of emotions.
“Lol. Why?”
Raven felt body warm as she snuck another glance at Tim’s picture. “You look better. I look like chewed up bubble gum.”
“Oh?”
There was a pause and Raven watched as Tim started typing again, three dots dancing across the bottom of her screen. A thrill ran down her naked back. She was sure Tim was doing this on purpose.
“So I look good?”
~
Raven was at her favorite tea shop one rainy afternoon drinking ridiculously expensive tea from a tiny tea cup. After a morning of accompanying Kori for some more wedding preparations, Raven decided to take some time off in the afternoon and relax a bit. There was just so much excitement and stress she could take.
Taking a picture of her blue ceramic tea cup and tea pot, she absently sent the picture to Tim. She took a sip of her Belgian Mint Tea and idly looked around the empty tea shop. Kori’s wedding was a several weeks away and the stress of having to deal with Kori’s stress was, well, stressing her out. Raven relished comfort the tea and the steady beat of the rain brought her.
Her phone vibrated against the old table and she carefully placed her tea cup down into its dainty saucer. Picking up her phone, she stared at Tim’s reply in amusement.
“Fancy.”
“Just very fancy mint tea,” she replied.
Tim sent her a picture of his half-empty Batman coffee mug. “Just very plain coffee on my end.”
Leaning back in her chair, Raven crossed her legs and settled back comfortably. Her lips curled in amusement. “Nice mug though,”
“The finest Batman mug in town.” he replied. “I know a guy who knows a guy. I could get you one.” Tim sent her a bat emoji.
Raven looked out the shop’s window briefly and stared as the rain beat against the glass window of the shop. She felt herself warm at the exchange. She tapped the side of her phone with her finger thoughtfully, mulling over her reply as her heart fluttered suddenly. Looking back down at her phone, she smiled. “You know how to win a girl’s heart.”
A day later a neatly wrapped up red present waited for her on the Titan’s kitchen counter with the rest of the day’s mail.
~
Despite the throbbing pain her right thigh and a splitting headache, Raven sat comfortably in her bed. She leaned heavily against her dark pillows and tried to enjoy the book Victor blindly pulled out of her bookshelf to keep her in bed. Tonight’s fight with Slade ended with her getting shot in the leg and fracturing her femur. Raven argued earlier that except maybe the gunshot wound, she was generally alright. But Dick and Victor would hear nothing of it and removed her from field operations until she fully recovered.
Her phone vibrated next to her thigh and she dropped her book into her lap, careful to avoid her bandaged left thigh. Opening up her encrypted messages, she saw Tim’s latest message.
“Are you alright?!”
“Yes.” She replied and leaned back into her pillows trying to get more comfortable. Her leg throbbed in protest. Fucking Slade.
“Dick said you got hurt?”
Trust the BatFam Group Chat to spread the word. Raven rolled her eyes. She took a picture of the book in her lap and her bandaged left thigh. Not really caring how short her shorts were and how revealing the shot actually she was, Raven sent the picture to Tim. “I’m fine.”
There was a pause as Tim typed out an answer. Raven watched as the dots danced on her screen furiously. Perhaps in hindsight, as she stared at her legs and the sliver of skin between her book and shorts and the curve of her thighs against her dark sheets, sending that a revealing photo wasn’t her best idea. She wished she had a margarita to blame her poor choices on.
“Nice book.”
Raven raised an eyebrow at his answer. The book was in Latin, and while she knew that Tim was smart, she was sure he did not know Latin. The corner of her lips twitched in amusement.
“I didn’t know you knew Latin?”
“Fine. You caught me.” He sent her a blushing emoji.
“Hah.”
There was a pause and Raven thought that Tim might have ended their conversation. Not really minding the silence, Raven started to turn back to her book when her phone vibrated again. She stared at Tim’s reply.
“I was worried.”
A warmth that she definitely did not allow ran down her back. Raven felt her cheeks warm at the soft affection and she smiled. “Thanks. I’m fine.”
“Just be careful next time, okay?”
~
Victor had her do therapy, which in Raven’s opinion was completely unnecessary. So sure, the bullet shattered her femur (worse than the initially thought), but with a little more healing, she would be fine. Victor would not have it though and demanded that she still did therapy – which was a bitch.
“One more, you can do it,” Victor watched Raven dangle on the dip station as she finished up her vertical leg raises. “Quit complaining – you’re tougher than that,”
Raven felt her abs and thighs burn as she swung her legs up once more. Her fingers curled tightly into the handle bars as she struggled to finished the set. She hated this exercise and her legs and abs were on fire. “Fuck you,
Victor laughed loudly and approached her. “I love you too,”
Raven hopped down from the machine carefully. She staggered a little as her legs touched the ground. Gasping to catch her breath, she glared at Victor. “This is completely – ”
“Unnecessary, I know. Humor me, will you?” Victor threw a towel in her face. “We’ll make tomorrow’s session our last. I just want to make sure there’s no muscle damage once you completely healed,”
Raven rolled her eyes in annoyance and wiped her face. “I’ll be fine,”
Victor shrugged and he briefly looked at her left thigh. Save for a shadow of a scar where the bullet had entered, there were no other signs of injury left. “Looks like you’re all good,” he smiled and looked down at her. “Just one more session tomorrow, Rae.”
“Fine,” Raven mumbled and turned on her heels sharply. She walked to the side of the gym room where she left her phone and water bottle. “After tomorrow I’m burning that machine,”
“Hey, no hating the Dip Machine,” She heard Victor tap the machine lovingly. “I’m going to make us some dinner. See you in the common room,”
Raven made a noncommittal sound and picked up her water bottle. Taking a long drink of water to cool herself down, she absently picked up her phone and checked her notifications. Ignoring some of the annoying memes and GIFs Garfield sent to their group chat, Raven pulled up Tim’s latest message.
“Still doing therapy?”
“Yeah, just finished.”  She replied. “Dead tired.”
“Good job!” He sent her a thumbs up emoji. “Did a workout too.”
Raven coughed loudly as she choked on her water and allowed it to dribble down her chin and chest. Inhaling sharply, she clumsily placed the water bottle next to her on the bench and stared at the photo Tim just sent her. Looking up at her from her phone was a sweaty, grinning Tim Drake dressed in nothing but a pair of gym shorts. His disheveled hair fell into his blue eyes that practically burned into her. He took the photo in what she guessed was his gym at his apartment. She stared at his flexed bicep as he took a photo of himself in the mirror and her eyes swept over his arms and chest. She felt a shiver of excitement run down her chest and pool low in her stomach. She inhaled softly again and swallowed as her eyes followed the dips of his abs. She could see scars dance across his chest, arms, and stomach and she faintly wondered how it would feel like to –
Holy shit.
She inhaled unsteadily through her nose and frowned. “That’s not fair.” She furiously typed and sent back to him. Why did he always tease her? Her body tingled and she stole a quick glance at his photo again. Damn it.
“What is?”
He was teasing her again! Raven felt her cheeks flush and her stomach tingle in excitement. How Tim Drake managed to so easily slip under skin and stir so man emotions and flirt with her, all through her phone, was beyond her.  Her emotions purred inside of her, enjoying the attention.
“Tim!”
“What!”
She felt a flurry of emotions and she body practically hummed. She could blame the margaritas of so many months ago for this. But, honestly, this was all on her. She really had no alcohol to blame, except for her emotions that were practically burning her skin. Pushing herself off the bench, she exhaled loudly and marched towards the mirrors.
Still incredibly disheveled from her therapy session, Raven took a photo of herself in her workout clothes – a pair of rather short gym shorts and a sports bra. Looking into her phone as she took a photo of herself, her lips curled just a little bit in amusement. She hit send. Her heart beat loudly against her chest as she sent her picture – two could play his game.
It took a minute – just as long as it took for her to take in Tim’s picture – before Tim replied. Raven felt a satisfied tingle run down her spine.
Heart emoji.
~
While Raven was busy filing that evening’s report, Tim randomly sent her a picture of Gotham City’s park. She paused in her typing and stared at the beautiful picture of Gotham City alive at night with buildings illuminated by the moon and the enchanting shadows danced across sprawling park. Despite its grit and crime, Gotham City was beautiful.
“That’s beautiful.” She replied.
“Patrol is boring tonight. Thought you might like a view of the park.”
Raven smiled at his thoughtfulness. “Thanks. We stopped a bank robbery today. I’m filing reports.”
“Sounds exciting.”
“Thrilling.” She replied. She looked at her laptop, her Batman mug filled with tea, and some of the case files on the table, nothing really was worthy of a picture. “Nothing really as beautiful as your park to take a photo of here, really.”
“You could take a picture of yourself?”
~
“My mother was from Gotham,” she told him one evening after he sent her another picture of Gotham City’s skyline while he was on patrol.
“Oh?”
“Yeah.” she replied while sitting on top of the Titan’s tower and looking out at the bay. Something stirred in her as she waited for Tim’s reply.
“Do think you still have relatives here?”
“I don’t think so,” she answered. “I don’t know.”
“We could find out?”
We. Raven stared at the ‘we’ and felt a warmth blossom that had been brewing deeply inside of her for so long. She smiled. “I’d like that.”
“We could go to some of your mom’s favorite places,”
She heard the whisper of an unspoken promise. Raven felt her heart fluttered softly against her chest. Her hair tickled her chin as a soft warm breeze swept past her. She shivered with anticipation. “I’d like that too.”
“It’s a date then.”
~
“Are you busy?” Tim asked one afternoon while she was hunched over on her bed engrossed in painting her toenails. It was a secret guilty pleasure she eventually developed after one too many girl nights with Kori.
Raven dipped the little brush back into the dark blue nail polish and grabbed her phone as she waited for her toenails on her left foot to try. “I’m painting my nails.”
“Really?”
Before she could reply or send a photo as evidence, her phone rang loudly and it slipped out of her hand as it vibrated. The black phone landed on her lap and continued to incessantly vibrate against her bare leg. She looked down and watched as Tim’s name appeared on her screen – incoming video call.
They had recently started talking on the phone on a few occasions – mostly when Tim was bored and wanted to tease Raven. She’d admit that she secretly enjoyed talking to him over the phone. It brought a thrill down her spine. She wasn’t all too sure what was happening between them but she liked the feelings that blossomed within her.
Her phone buzzed angrily.  Looking down at her attire, she was dressed in one of Victor’s oversized t-shirt and nothing else, and thought that it would be enough. Picking up her phone, she placed it on her nightstand next to her bed for them to see each other and answered the call.
“Yes?”
Tim’s smiling face appeared on her phone’s screen. “Hey!”
Raven blinked in surprise as she took in Tim’s rather wet hair. “Why are you so wet?”
He was clearly holding his phone with his hand as his phone shook unsteadily while Tim combed his sopping wet hair with his other hand. Shaking his head a bit to get water out of his long hair, he looked back at her. “I was riding my motorbike and it started to rain, so yeah.”
Raven shifted on her bed and hunched over her feet. She hummed softly as a promise that she was listening. She began to paint the toenails on her right foot. “Where are you?” she asked while keeping a steady eye on her foot.
“At the mall. Buying some last minute wedding stuff,” she heard his reply.
Throwing an amused look over her shoulder, she watched as Tim’s face became a little blurry as he moved through some aisle. “Doesn’t the Wayne household have a delivery service to get their shopping done or something?” she teased.
“Hah,” Tim chuckled and his grinned at her through the camera. “Funny.” He explained the last minute items Alfred had him buy.
Turning back to her right foot, Raven shifted and bent her knee, drawing her foot closer to her. Her t-shirt around her thighs fell lower into her lap and pooled around the swell of her hips. She heard Tim pause briefly in his detailed explanation of his table napkin quest and inhale softly. He coughed and she could hear the distinct quiver in his voice.
“—so, yeah. Uh, table napkins. We don’t have enough,”
Raven briefly looked down at how her shirt pooled around her hips. Smirking, she threw him an amused look. “Troubles?”
Her emotions purred softly and a thrill ran down her spine as she watched Tim briefly glance down at her legs before looking back at her. They stared at each other for a moment before Tim smiled and shook his head. “Ah, no,”
“So, table napkins?” Raven cocked her head to the side and watched as Tim continued to walk through the dark aisles. It didn’t look like he was in the dinning section of the mall.
“Yeah,” Tim said. He was busy looking at some items in the shelf in front of him. His face disappeared from the frame a couple of times as he reached and rummaged through the shelves.
“You called because of napkins? That’s what was so important?” Raven asked with a lilt in her voice.
She heard Tim chuckle as she continued to paint her toenails. “Actually, no. I wanted to ask what you’re wearing at the dinner party on Thursday?”
Raven turned back to her phone and sent him a curious look. She watched as his face was busy staring at whatever was on display in front of him. “What I’ll be wearing?”
Dick and Kori’s wedding was, finally, less than a week away. Bruce was hosting a dinner party for everyone before the wedding. It was mainly just all members of the Titans from the different teams and Justice League members and whoever else who belonged to the circle, just so everyone could celebrate without worrying about trying to hide their identities. Raven was honestly thrilled that the wedding would be over and done with soon – Kori was stressing her out.
“Yeah,” Tim chimed. “What color is your dress? Help a man out here.”
Raven furrowed her eyebrows in confusion. What was he getting on with? “What?” She cocked her head to the side as Tim busied himself with the shelf in front of him.
“What color is your dress?” he repeated.
“Dark blue,” she replied in pure confusion. “What’s the point?”
Tim made a satisfied noise in the back of his throat and his face blurred out as he reached for something in front of him. “Like this?” he showed her a rather expensive looking dark blue silk tie.
“Kind of?” Raven frowned. “Why?”
Tim sent her a soft smile and shrugged. “Thought it’d be nice to match your dress?”
~
“So, you’re telling us you’ve been flirting and talking and sending each other pictures, and may I just add pictures that are borderline sinful, to each other for close to four months and you’ve never met up?” Karen shot Raven an incredulous look as they drove towards the Wayne Estate in Gotham City for Dick and Kori’s pre-wedding dinner party slash ridiculous gala dinner Bruce Wayne organized. Removing her eyes from the road momentarily, Karen looked utterly disappointed at Raven. “How could you have not met up?”
Raven looked annoyed in her seat. “I don’t know. Maybe because we live in different cities, we have jobs, he practically runs Wayne Enterprises, and we’re all trying to save the world from impending doom every week?”
“Saving the world my ass.” Jinx scoffed and leaned into the space between the two front seats. As she leaned towards them, the neckline of her red dress dipped dangerously, momentarily flashing both Karen and Raven with her breasts. She shot Raven an amused look. “I’m sure in between all that, you could have still squeezed in some sex time,”
“I could squeeze your neck anytime,” Raven shot back. Her purple eyes dropped to Jinx’s cleavage in disdain. “Your tits are out.”
Jinx laughed and slumped back into the backseat of Karen’s car. Adjusting her red slinky dress around her chest, Jinx sent Raven an amused smile. “I bet you your tits are gonna be out too later tonight,”
“Why am I friends with you again?” Raven stared at Jinx darkly through the rearview mirror.
“Pretty low standards?” Karen mused loudly as they rounded the corner.
“Hey!” Jinx looked indignant. “We’re on the same team!”
“Look, you like him, and from the way he’s been flirting with you, he’s hot and heavy about you too,  hold it, wait!” Karen briefly raised a perfectly manicured finger into Raven’s face as the purple haired woman was about to protest. “Don’t even deny it. Tonight you’re going to see him after all of whatever it is you two are doing over the phone,”
“It’s like you’re dry humping over the phone,” Jinx said dryly.
Trying to be the more sensible friend, Karen completely ignored Jinx and briefly cast the annoyed Raven a quick glance. “You can’t just keep on talking over the phone. What are you going to do, Rae?”
Raven frowned at them, her emotions stirring slightly. Smoothing out her dark blue dress around her legs, she frowned. “I didn’t say I’d go and avoid him, I highly doubt that would be even possible,” she said.
Karen shot her a curious look. “How are you feeling about all of this?”
“Hot and bothered?” Jinx chimed from the backseat.
Raven rolled her eyes at Jinx. Leaning back in her seat, she crossed her arms defensively under her breasts. “It’s a lot to take in,” she said. She cast Karen a quick glance, briefly admiring her in the long deep yellow dress she was wearing.
“We’re not telling you to jump him, Raven,”
“Though you totally should,” Jinx said. “Or he should jump you, whatever works your kink.”
Raven let out a long suffering sigh. “I’m going to see him and we’ll see where it goes. Maybe he just likes talking to me over the phone and things change when he sees me,”
Jinx rolled her eyes. “When he sees you in that dress, he will not take you out of his sight. I promise you that. We picked the right dress,” She sighed dramatically. “I’m so proud of you. You did well in slipping into his DMs.”
“Just have fun tonight, Rae,” Karen said, completely ignoring Jinx in the backseat.
Raven made a non-committal sound in the back of her throat. “Kind of hard to do when I’m still on Maid of Honor duty for Kori,” as if on cue, her phone vibrated in her black clutch. Fishing it out of her bag, Raven eyed Kori’s text. “She just sent me a messaging asking us to buy her a liter of mustard. Why would she want a liter of mustard?”
“Why doesn’t the Wayne household have liter of mustard? It’s a fucking manor.” Jinx gave Raven an incredulous look.
“There should be a 7/11 or a supermarket nearby. We can make a quick stop and get the bride her mustard,” Karen said while trying to spot a supermarket along the way. She shot Jinx a quick look through the rearview mirror. “Be useful. Try to find something on your phone. It’ll be faster that way,”
Raven’s phone vibrated again. Opening up her messages, Tim’s headshot smiled up at her. Ignoring the feelings that stirred in her chest, Raven opened her encrypted messages.
“Are you here yet? Where are you?”
“We’re still downtown. Kori just texted. She wants a liter of mustard.” She replied. Jinx and Karen argued in the background where to take a turn. For superheroes, it was grossly disappointing how poorly they could operate Google Maps.
“Oh, okay.” Tim replied. She watched as the dots danced across the bottom of her screen. “The party is starting.”
“We’ll be there in a bit. Trying to find mustard.”
He sent her a photo of the brightly lit ballroom (it’s ridiculous how they had a Grand Ballroom – but it’s Bruce Wayne) that’s filled with beautifully dressed superheroes dancing or feasting on the buffet tables. She could see Garfield dance with Terra in one corner of the picture. “Hurry!”
They had stopped at a gas station. Jinx and Karen had volunteered to go and get the mustard. Lifting her phone to the window, Raven took a photo of the gas station. “Mustard run. See you later.”
“I’ll save you a dance.”
~
The Wayne Estate was breathtakingly beautiful. Raven forgot how beautiful it was up until tonight. On the handful occasions she was here because of work, she remembered how quiet and dark the mansion was. But tonight, she could feel how the mansion was alive with emotions. Raven heard laughter and loud music drift through the halls, the sound of silverware hitting fine china tinkled softly.
They were a bit late after their Great Mustard Run of 2020. When they stepped into the foyer Alfred was ready to welcome them and take the one liter of mustard out of their hands (it painfully clashed with their dresses).
“The three of you look stunning. Thank you for the mustard,” Alfred smiled kindly at them. “I’ll take this to the kitchen. I trust that you know your way to the ballroom?”
“It’s wonderful to see you again, Alfred,” Raven smiled. She hugged the man briefly before leading Karen and Jinx towards the ballroom. She could hear Victor’s loud laughter carry through the hallways and she smiled.
“There you are!”
Victor all but barreled into them, his bright blue tuxedo stretching across his muscles as he hugged all three girls at the same time.
“Easy there, Sparky,” Karen laughed and pushed her boyfriend away from them.
“Thought I’d have to send out a search party for you three,” Victor grinned. He handed Karen his champagne glass. “BB and some of the older Titans are at the table over there,” he pointed at one of the center tables in the brightly lit ballroom.
Wrapping her arms around Victor’s left arm, Karen looked around the ballroom with bright eyes. “Wow, I didn’t realize there’d be so many people,”
“Leave it to Bruce Wayne to throw a party,” Jinx commented, stealing two champagne glasses from Alfred as he passed them with a full tray.
Taking one of the champagne glasses from Jinx, Raven surveyed the ballroom. Modern jazz music drifted through the air while people were busy talking, dancing, or eating. All of the Justice League and their sidekicks, Teen Titans and the original Titans were in the room. It was impressive to see so many heroes dressed to the nines in such a relaxed and normal environment. She spotted Clark talking to Lois and Diana by the bar and waved when he caught her eye.
“Clark Kent fills out a suit so nicely,” whispered Jinx into her ear.
“Don’t,” Raven rolled her eyes and gently pushed Jinx away. They followed Victor into the fray of the party, waving at some of friends and the younger Titans.
“Friends!”
Kori in her flowing lavender dress hugged Raven tightly out of nowhere. The smaller woman stumbled back slightly before hugging Kori back and gaining her footing. Looking over Kori’s shoulder she saw a highly amused Dick looking stunning in his tuxedo. Pushing Kori away gently, Raven smiled. “Hi, Kori,”
“Thanks for the mustard,” Dick laughed as they all gathered by the designated table for the older Titans.
“It should be crime how hot you two look,” Karen commented dryly, eyeing Richard and Kori in mock disdain. Kori was dressed in a light lavender gown that dipped dangerously down the down the front and back and flared around her hips. Dick matched her dress with a lavender tie and undoubtedly expensive tuxedo.
“You look stunning, friends,” Kori said, smiling brightly at them.
Jinx was dressed in a slinky red dress with thin straps around her shoulders and a neckline that was close to scandalous while Karen was in a rich yellow dress that hugged her curves. Raven had initially protested in getting a new dress, but Karen and Jinx had essentially held her at gunpoint and they bought midnight blue dress with a deep neckline, which according to Jinx, “helped accentuate her tits.” The dress had a long slit run up her right leg, exposing her thigh as she walked.
Kori leaned into Raven’s personal space and gently pocked her in the ribs, much to her annoyance. “Tim has been asking for you.”
Raven blushed and she felt her heart jump into her throat. Looking away from Kori’s amused look, she pulled away, and turned to Karen. “I’m hungry,” she said hastily. No way was she going to subject herself to more teasing. “Let’s get some hors d’oeuvres.”
Kori giggled. “I’m happy for you, Friend Raven.”
Raven felt her emotions warm her. Throwing a soft smile over her should as she maneuvered Jinx towards the buffet stations, Raven caught Kori’s eyes. “Thanks,”
“So you’re not going to look for Tim?” Jinx asked as they pocked around a wide array of canapés. She absently waved at Wally on the other end of the buffet station. “Don’t you want to push him into one of the dark corners of this mansion and have your way with him?”
Raven eyed her in disdain. “How about I push you off one of the balconies here and make it look like an accident?”
“You’re no fun,” Jinx snorted. “Just have fun tonight. I’m sure he’s looking forward to seeing you and potentially ravishing you,”
Ignoring Jinx, Raven briefly scanned the room in the hopes of maybe spotting Tim. When she did not spot Tim, she turned back to her cucumber canapés ignoring the slight twinge of disappointment in her chest. She followed Jinx back to their table and they joined the rest of the old team.
The party seemed to slowly get into full swing as Roy joined their table and placed a few bottles of expensive wine and whiskey in the center of the table, much to the delight of Victor and Jinx. Ignoring Garfield’s bad jokes, Raven stood up and told Karen she was getting more champagne. There was no way she was going to fall into Roy’s trap of getting everyone wasted.
As she walked towards the bar, she waved at Dick and Kori as they were dancing slowly in the middle of the room with a Clark and Lois and a few other couples. They happily waved back before wrapping themselves into each other’s arms again. Raven felt the warm brush of their emotions against her and she smiled. She was glad her friends finally got married.
“Raven,”
“Constantine,” Raven wasn’t all too surprised to see Constantine by the bar. Taking one of the ready champagne glasses she joined him leaning against the bar and eyed his tuxedo in amusement. “I am pleasantly surprised to see you out of your trench coat,”
Constantine knocked back his whiskey and poured himself another shot from the bottle next to him. “Z threatened to hex me if I even thought of using my old coat,” he shrugged with a hint of disdain in his voice. He waived his whiskey glass at her. “You look amazing, by the way.”
Raven hummed her thanks and took a sip of her champagne. She briefly looked around the party, watching in mild amusement and awe as superheroes drank, ate, and danced through the party. She smiled briefly when she saw J’onn awkwardly dance with an amused Diana. Her eyes drifted towards the side of the ballroom and she inhaled softly when she finally spotted Tim talking to Commissioner Gordon. Ignoring how her heart seemed to beat loudly in her chest, she placed her champagne glass back on the bar and fished out her phone from her clutch. She felt her lips curl in amusement as she opened her phone’s camera and took a quick phot of Tim. Quickly tapping on her phone, she sent him the picture she took and dropped her phone back into her clutch satisfied.
“Didn’t know you were much of a stalker,” Constantine commented in dryly as he sipped his whiskey. He eyed her curiously.
Raven shrugged and grabbed her champagne glass again. Out of the corner of her eye she could see Tim pull his phone out of his pocket. Turning back to Constantine, she leaned against the bar with her left hip and offered an amused smile. “Picked up a new hobby,” she told him.
“Hah,” Constantine laughed. He tipped his glass at her and grinned. “Z told me to pick up a new hobby too,”
Raven snorted and raised an eyebrow. “That isn’t drinking?”
“I’d like to think mixology is an excellent hobby,”
“With you, I wouldn’t go as far as to call it a hobby, John,” Raven countered.
Spotting Zatanna and a few other female members of the League re-enter the ballroom, Constantine pushed himself away from the bar and offered Raven shrug. “Z’s back from her bathroom break with the rest of the ladies, why do you need to go in groups?” he asked absently. “I’m going to back to our table. Nice seeing you, Raven,”
“Bye, John,” Raven waved at the warlock’s retreating form. Taking a sip of her champagne, she felt a warm presence behind her. A warm tingle ran down her back as she felt the faintly familiar press of emotions against her.
“You still owe me a dance,”
Raven laughed and turned around, an inexplicable warmth spreading across her chest as she stared up at a highly amused Tim Drake leaning against the bar. She felt her lips curl into a smile as she stared into warm blue eyes. “Oh?” she breathed, a pleasant thrill ran down her spine as she watched his eyes appreciatively sweep down her figure before settle back on her face. “Didn’t you say you’d save me a dance?”
“Hmm,” Tim hummed and tilted his head lightly in amusement as he looked down at her. Raven felt his emotions tickle her. “You’re right, I did.”
Feeling like she could drown in his blue eyes, Raven tore her eyes from his and looked at his tie. Dark blue. She inhaled softly and felt her heart beat loudly in her chest. “Nice tie,” she commented and titled her head up at him.
Tim let out a soft laugh and leaned his left elbow against the bar as he fully turned to her. Raven watched as his other hand smoothed over his tie and she absently thought how handsome he looked in his tuxedo. It was ridiculous how distractingly handsome he was. “Thanks,” Tim said and offered her a gently smile. “You look beautiful, Raven,”
She felt her cheeks color and she shifted her weight under his gaze. It was absurd how flustered she felt after all those weeks of flirting with him over the phone. And now here he was, looking like that and looking at her in such a dangerous way that shifted the air around them and had her slowly go weak in the knees. She wondered if she had too much champagne. “Thanks,” she breathed.
She watched the corners of his lips curl as he continued to look at her. “Do you…” he trailed off and tilted his head towards the elaborate patio doors that lead to the Wayne Estate gardens. He tapped his whiskey glass thoughtfully while waiting for her reply.
“Oh,” her eyes darted from the patio doors to back to Tim’s gaze. She smiled and nodded. “Sure,”
Grabbing her champagne glass and tucking her clutch under her arm, she slipped past his gaze. Gently touching his elbow, she walked past him and headed towards the patio doors. She felt Tim next to her as they navigated through the crowd and shared amused smiles at each other. When they reached the door, he opened the door for her and gently paced his hand on her lower back and lead her outside. The touch sent a warm shiver up her body.
“How did your mustard run go?” asked Tim as they walked out of the grand patio and into the beginnings of the Wayne Estate garden. They stopped by the elaborate stone banister and stood next to each other, elbows touching and leaning over to look at the sprawling garden in front of them. They were alone and it was much quieter outside compared to the partying inside. They could still hear the muted dance music drift through the air.
“It’s sorely disappointing how Gotham City has so very few stores that carry one liter bottles of mustard,” Raven said followed by a soft chuckle.
Tim snorted. “Does it warrant a strong worded letter to the Gotham Supermarket Association?”
“I think Wayne Enterprises should definitely make this a priority,” Raven teased, throwing him an amused look before turning back to the rose bushes in front of them.
Tim laughed and took a sip from his whiskey. “I’ll make sure to bring it up at work on Monday,”
Raven hummed. A soft breeze swept past them, rustling the trees and bushes in front of them. Her purple hair tickled her chin and she pushed it behind her ear again. “So,” she breathed. “Are you enjoying the party?”
Tim cast a curious glance behind them as a loud round of cheers and laughter from erupted from a table close to the windows. He threw her an amused smile. “I’ll admit it’s a bit unnerving to see so many superheroes drunk,”
Raven let out a soft laugh. “You just wait until Jinx and the others make their way through all the alcohol they brought over to our table. It’s going to be very interesting,”
Running his free hand through his hair, Tim laughed. “I feel like I should be worried,”
“Victor and Karen are with them. They’re the designated drivers. So if anything, they’ll keep everyone in check,” said Raven. Her purple eyes twinkled as she looked up at Tim. “Or the very least, keep Garfield from drunk transforming,”
Tim raised an eyebrow. “And that’s not something we want to see?”
Raven tilted her head with a wry smile. “Unless you want to see him accidentally rip through his tuxedo and transform back into his human form naked,” Her lips curled lightly around the corner as she watched him make a face.
“Maybe we should ask Alfred to send them some water?”
“It’ll be okay,” she assured and turned back to watching the garden in front of them. She stared the garden thoughtfully and thought it would be nice to meditate here. “The Wayne Estate has a such a beautiful garden,”
Tim stared at her and smiled. “Yeah. It’s pretty breathtaking,”
Raven felt the warm brush of emotions against her and she caught him staring at her. His emotions were warm and she was sure he did not mean the garden right now. She felt herself flush. Raven leaned in just a little bit into his space, seeking just a little bit of the warmth of his emotions.
“That’s why I brought you outside. I thought you’d might like to see the garden,” Tim continued and shuffled just a little bit closer to her. His eyes were searching hers. “Have you been to the manor before?”
“Just a couple of times, all for work. This is my first time to really appreciate the manor,” she replied and absently fiddled with her empty champagne glass.
Tim raised his eyebrows in surprise and he smiled brightly. “I’ll need to show you the library later then. I know you’ll love it,”
His smile and energy was infectious. A thrum of emotions ran down her spine and Raven returned his smile. “That’s two promises you’ve made with me, Tim,”
Tim chuckled and tutted loudly. Placing his whiskey glass on the banister and unceremoniously plucking her champagne glass and clutch out of her hands and placing these on the banister as well, he reached out and took her left hand. “I’m not one to break promises, Raven.” he told her, blue eyes twinkling mischievously. His warm hand squeezed hers gently and tugged her closer to him. “Would you like to dance?”
“Here? Now?” Raven heard surprised quiver in her voice and she breathed in slowly. She briefly looked around them, making sure they were alone and no one caught this rather embarrassing moment. Her heart leapt into her throat. As if in cue, the band inside the ballroom began to play a new slow song with violin notes drifting through the air. She felt his warm hand squeeze hers again and pull her closer.
“Yeah. C’mon, Raven,” Tim tugged her hand and gently guided it towards his shoulder and allowed his hand to ghost over the side of her body and settle on the dip of her waist and his other hand curled around her right hand. “I promised I’ll save you a dance, didn’t I?”
Raven realized that the playful, flirty Tim Drake over her phone was vastly different from the playful, flirty Tim Drake that stood in front of her. Tim Drake practically enveloped her in his emotions. Where she thought she was prepared for whatever Tim might reveal tonight, she simply found herself slowly wrapped up in a warmth of emotions that were both his and hers. She felt her own emotions purr and a shiver ran down her spine. Allowing him to slowly lead and sway them to the soft violin music, Raven smiled up at Tim. “You’re strange, Tim Drake,”
Tim laughed, his blue eyes bright, as he continued to sway them to the soft violin music. He gently tugged her a little closer as a more comfortable air dropped around them and his hand slipped around her waist just a little firmer. “I live to please,” he told her softly.
She felt his chuckle against his chest and Raven unconsciously leaned into him more, chasing after his warmth. She could faintly smell his aftershave, sandalwood, and Raven inhaled softly, feeling drawn into his presence. Relishing the soft press of his body against hers, she absently wondered if Karen and Jinx were right and she had really nothing to worry about over whatever this was.
“So,” Tim continued, his voice low and soft. His fingertips pressed gently into her waist as he pulled her just a little bit closer. Raven could feel his heartbeat against her chest, a fast thrum as he continued to sway them to the music. “I – I,” he paused and let a soft laugh. His hand squeezed hers and he looked down at her in amusement. “Sorry, I’m – uh –maybe just a little bit nervous?”
Raven looked up at him caught his sheepish smile and she stared into blue eyes she could drown in. And she felt it, the warm press of his emotions – want, lust, nervousness, excitement – pressing into her. She titled her head and her lips curled into a smile. “Oh?”
“I’m glad you’re here, Raven,”
“Out here?” she asked. She felt her own emotions tingle under her skin and she slipped her hand from his shoulder down his chest and behind his back. Raven was sure she wanted to wrap herself around his warmth more just as a cool breeze swept past them.
His hand wanders a little further around her waist and presses gently into the small of her back. Blue eyes steadily hold her gaze and he continues to smile down at her. “Yeah, here,” he repeats.
Raven hums. “I’m glad too,”
She felt him shift against her and his hand travels just a little up her back, fingers splayed confidently across he back. She looks up at him curiously. “I know we’ve just been talking over the phone, but –“ he pauses and lets out a soft chuckle and looks at her. “I really like spending time with you,”
She felt a warm rush of emotions spread all over body and Raven felt something shift between them. She felt herself go just a little breathless and she smiled, her purple eyes twinkling just a little. “Oh,” she whispered. The corner of her lips threatened to copy his own infectious smile. “I’m not boring you?”
Tim laughed and dipped his head a little, blue eyes dancing in delight. Raven inhaled softly as he pressed himself closer. Raven was sure everything just seemed to melt away and the air still seemed so alive around them. “Far from it,” he whispered.
“Good to know,” Raven mumbled. She watched as Tim smiled, looking pleased. His gaze dropped to her lips and she felt her breath catch in her throat. She unconsciously shifted closer, heartbeat thrumming loudly in her ears.
“Raven?”
“Hmm?”
“I’ll kiss you, okay?” His breath fanned her face and Raven was sure she was intoxicated with the emotions and electricity that seemed to wrap around them.
“Okay.”
She heard him release a soft laugh before he pressed even closer and kissed her. Raven felt her emotions roar and she released his hand, grabbing onto his arm to anchor herself. The kiss was gentle but needy as his lips worked against hers and drank her soft sighs. She felt his other hand curl around the side of her neck and gently tilt her head to provide better access. Her fingers curled into his bicep as Tim pressed into her further, silently seeking for more.
It was like a floodgate of emotions opened and headily wrapped around her as Tim coaxed her lips open and groaned softly into them. Raven was sure that his lips, tongue, hands, and emotions were burning her – and she desperately chased after his heat. Sighing softly into Tim’s lips, Raven allowed herself to be wrapped into their heady want and relished his eager kisses.
After a few more long, desperate kisses, Tim gently pulled away and inhaled shakily. Pressing his forehead against hers, his hair tickled her cheek and he grinned at her. “Wow,” he breathed against her. “I’ve been wanting to do that for weeks now,”
Still reeling from the press of emotions around her, Raven held on to him. She let out a softy breathy laugh and the corners of her eyes crinkled. “Really?”
“Really.” He pressed a soft kiss against her lips again and pulled her flush against his body, hand sliding down low and stopping at the just at the swell of her ass. Pulling away again and inhaling shakily, he looked into her eyes and his thumb gently swept against her cheek. “Be my date to the wedding?”
Raven chuckled in amusement. “I’m the Maid of Honor. I’m already there,” she teased gently.
“Well,” Tim breathed softly and chuckled. Pressing a kiss to the corner of her lips, he looked at her in amusement. “I’ll save all my dances for you then,”
“I’d like that,” Raven whispered into his lips and kissed him once more.
Hands sliding over her sides and leaving a hot trail down her back, Tim pressed into her. “You know,” he whispered against her lips and Raven felt his fingers curl into her sides. “I need to thank Jinx for sending me that photo,”
Raven chuckled and pressed into him. “Shut up and kiss me, Tim Drake,”
“Gladly,”
You’re Green???
Beast Boy x Reader
Prompt: Ok so Beast Boy Soulmate AU, consider the classic: you see color when you touch your soulmate. You could be a new member of the team or just someone who knows the titans. Somehow you just haven’t come in contact with him. Until one day you do and the colors go everywhere and it’s this magical moment but you’re just like “wait...you’re green???”
Note: I’m in love with Garfield Logan now??? Yeah. Yeah, I think I am. Thanks, Ryan Potter. Also, thanks for the prompts!!! This is so up my alley, you don’t understand.
Warnings: None?
Word Count: 1.3k
Tumblr media
Like the vast majority of the population, you were one of the people who was unable to see color. At all. The magic of the rainbow was a mystery to you and every other person who, like you, hadn’t yet met the person they were destined to spend the rest of their lives with.
Unlike the rest of the population, you were a little…different. Since the time you hit puberty, which hadn’t been all that long ago, given that you were a high school senior, you’d been able to create flames out of thin air. It was a dangerous, scary ability that had forced you into hiding your powers, which had led to the outing of your powers to your entire school, which had led you to where you were now, in the back of the T-Car.
“It can be scary at first, for sure.” Cyborg reassured from the driver’s seat, Raven sitting on his right.
“That’s what we’re here for.” Raven agreed. “The safest thing for everyone involved is that you learn how to use your powers, how to control them.”
“I couldn’t agree more.” You pulled your hoodie further over your head and stared out the window as the city rolled by.
It wasn’t long until you finally got to the tower, lugging your duffle bag over your shoulder.
“I’m Robin. Nice to meet you. We set up a room for you down the hall this way.” He pointed and then started walking. You read the names on the doors as you passed.
Raven, Robin, Victor, Starfire, Garfield, and finally…a blank door. Huh. Figured.
Robin tapped on the blank one and it slid aside, revealing a plain room with a few throw pillows on the bed. It would suit your needs nicely.
“Sorry it’s so…empty. You can put whatever you want in here. We figured we’d let you get settled before we—”
“It’s perfect. Thanks so much.”
“Cyborg’s making a plaque for your door. We just figured we’d see if you like it here first.”
“I get it, yeah. Thank you.”
“Of course.” Robin stood there for an awkward moment. “I’ll, uh, let you get everything unpacked, then. Holler if you have any questions.”
“Will do.” You stepped inside and set your bag down. Unpacking only took a few minutes. You hadn’t been able to salvage much after everything had happened, and you were still in the process of getting the rest of your things back from your house. Your parents loved you, sure, but they knew it was safer for you to be with the Titans. They knew how to handle people like you.
God, why did everything have to be different now? Why couldn’t you just be normal?
“Knock, knock! Welcoming committee is here!”
You turned around to find the famed Beast Boy and Starfire standing in the doorframe. Beast Boy, who had pointed ears, and a little fang that jutted out of his bottom lip, was holding a cupcake.
“It is most glorious that you’re joining the team!” Starfire sang, flying over to you and pulling you into a tight hug. You awkwardly hugged her back. “We hope you find it to feel like a home!”
“Thanks…I, uh, think I’ll fit in pretty well around here.” You giggled. Once the strong alien girl let you go, Beast Boy handed you the cupcake.
“I hope you like it. We baked them this morning. Tried to bake a whole cake, but…well…”
“Given that I have fire powers, I can definitely understand a baking mishap.” You giggled. “Thanks so much. I’m…really looking forward to getting to know all of you.”
“Speaking of, we’re having a movie night tonight! Your pick!”
“My pick. Wow, I feel special.” You smiled at the genuine kindness on their faces. You’d been apprehensive about moving to the tower, admittedly, but so far, everyone had been really nice. You were glad you’d made the decision you did. “I’ll be there. But only if there’s popcorn.”
“Would it be movie night without it?” Beast Boy joked. “See you there. Come on, Star. Cy said we’ve gotta clean up the kitchen.”
And then they left you in the quiet of your room. You sighed, turning to look out the gray window at the gray sky, blotted with gray clouds. Taking the wrapper off of the dark gray cupcake, you took a bite. Chocolate. Huh. It was good.
You had a feeling you’d like it here. A really, really good feeling.
***
Later, when dark fell, the Titans gathered in the living room. You slowly emerged from your room, tentatively walking down the hall until you found the source of the chatter, where the rest of the team was.
“Oh, sorry. I hope I didn’t keep you waiting…”
“Nonsense. Come on in. There’s a spot over there next to Gar.”
“And Gar is…”
“Me!” Beast Boy grinned, waving you over. “We don’t really use our real names with the public, I guess.”
You walked across the room and sat down next to him. “So will I get a codename, then?”
“We can figure that out later. Right now, we just need to get you settled in.”
“Alright.” You nodded, smiling.
A few minutes later, you’d picked out a movie. Gar set a bowl of popcorn between the two of you. You took a handful and happily watched along. That is, until you reached in for another handful, your hand inches from his, and the loudest siren you’d ever heard in your life went off, lights flashing.
“What the FUCK?!” You slapped your hands over your ears.
“Trouble!” Robin stood up and the others all ran out the door. It was Gar that turned around when he noticed you weren’t with them.
“Well, are you coming?”
“Uh…yeah, I guess I am?” You got up and followed him and the others. By the time you got to the scene, the city was in chaos. People were running and screaming, and in the center of it all? A giant lightning monster.
Robin lead the charge, dodging the panicked civilians and diving right into action. Cyborg hit the thing with his Cy-Cannon, but that only seemed to supercharge it.
You watched in awe as Starfire took to the sky, followed quickly by Raven, leaving only you and Gar on the ground in front of the massive thing. The gray boy next to you changed into a rhinoceros and charged.
Seeing that you were unsure of what to do, the lightning monster shot at you, blasting you with a bolt of pure electricity. It knocked you off of your feet. Oh, that was a mistake. A big mistake.
Fire boiled in your veins, hands heating as you scraped yourself up. “I haven’t had the best week, buddy. You shouldn’t have done that.”
You launched into battle with the others, adrenaline overriding every other emotion, all of the shock and confusion washed away and you felt something click inside you. This. Yes. This was what you were meant to be. A hero.
***
It felt like hours later that the threat was finally contained. You were covered in dirt and soot, your jeans even more ripped than they had been before. You huffed a sigh, sitting on the street. Before you could move to hoist yourself up and brush yourself off, a gray hand stretched out in front of you.
“Need some help?” Gar asked softly.
You nodded and slipped your hand into his, but the second you did, a jolt zapped up your arm and your eyes stung sharply. You squeezed them shut in an attempt to make them feel better, but they didn’t, not until you opened them again to find a colorful, colorful world all around you.
Looking up at Gar with wide eyes, you watched as his knees wobbled, a similar look of shock on his green features. Green. He was green.
“Holy shit, you’re green?!”
“I’m—what?” Gar looked at his hands, laughing. “I…I am! And you’re…you’re my…”
You scrambled to your feet and stood in front of him, admiring each facet of his handsome green face. “Took me long enough to find you,” you whispered.
He opened his arms, inviting you with an earnest smile, and you hugged him tightly. “I knew there was something about you…” he murmured into your ear, chuckling to himself. “Welcome to the team.”
TALES OF THE TEEN TITANS #45-47 AUGUST - OCTOBER 1984 BY MARV WOLFMAN, GEORGE PEREZ, MIKE DECARLO AND ADRIENNE ROY
SYNOPSIS (FROM DC DATABASE)
Aqualad is seriously ill and drags a dying Aquagirl into Titans Tower. He struggles to bring her to the pool to get fresh water into her system, but passes out mere inches away.
Across town, Changeling is still having difficulty coping with the death of Terra. He busts up a group of arms dealers and nearly kills them in his anger. Cyborg shows up and tries to talk to Gar, but Changeling tells him that he is through talking. Nobody was around for him when he needed help, so he has no interest in confiding in his teammates.
Meanwhile, Dick Grayson attends an extremely uncomfortable bachelor party being held for Terry Long. Terry's inebriated brothers hire a stripper for him who jumps out of a giant cake.
At Manhattan College, a boy named Steven tries to bond with Raven whom he has developed an interest in. Raven politely rebuffs the boy's advances and gets into a car with Jericho.
On Paradise Island, Donna asks Queen Hippolyta's blessing to marry Terry Long. Traditionally, if an Amazon chooses to reside permanently in Man's World, they must forsake their Amazonian powers. However, as Donna is not a true Amazon, Hippolyta does not feel the need to enforce this restriction. As a wedding gift, Donna's "sister" Diana gives Donna a new set of magic bracelets.
Later, everyone regroups at Titans Tower where they discover the dying Aqualad and Aquagirl. They quickly submerge them in a special water solution and carefully pump fresh sea water into their systems. When they revive, Aqualad tells them that the H.I.V.E. has attacked Atlantis. Nightwing is tired of the H.I.V.E. and wants to put a stop to them once and for all.
The Teen Titans, along with a revitalized Aqualad and Aquagirl travel through the Atlantic Ocean to the coordinates of the H.I.V.E.'s undersea station. As they approach the base, the H.I.V.E. Mistress consults with her Council of Seven about Operation: Waterworks. Aquagirl and Aqualad tear up two stalagmites and hurl them like mini-torpedoes at the base. The projectiles tear a hole through the station and dozens of H.I.V.E. agents wearing deep-sea diving suits spill outward. While the Titans engage the agents in their T-Sub, Aquagirl swims through the airlock and onto the base. She begins interrogating one of the H.I.V.E. agents, but another one gets the drop on her and stuns her with an energy weapon. Aboard the T-Sub, Raven telepathically feels Aquagirl's shriek of pain and teleports onto the base. Suddenly, the evil influence of her demonic father Trigon overwhelms her and she viciously begins slaughtering every H.I.V.E. agent in the room.
Back in New York, Vic returns home to find his grandparents, Maude and Tucker, waiting for him in his apartment. He is not thrilled to see them, and still resents them for the fact that they failed to attend his father's funeral. Vic angrily tells them to leave. Maude fires back at him and after a few terse words, they finally make up.
Elsewhere in the city, detective Lt. "Tank" Sherman is called to the scene of a potential mugging. The would-be victim gives her statement and tells Sherman that her attacker was nearly mauled to death by a savage green tiger.
Back at the H.I.V.E. base, the Titans board the station and regroup with Aquagirl, Aqualad and Raven. Jericho uses his powers to take control of one of the surviving H.I.V.E. agents. They fight their way through a blockade of armed men and travel deeper towards the command core of the station. From her central meeting room, the H.I.V.E. Mistress seals off the access tunnel where the Titans are located and jettisons the entire chamber into the sea. Once the pod is far enough away from the base, she activates a trigger which causes it to explode.
Believing that the Titans have been destroyed, the H.I.V.E. Mistress offers a toast of victory. However, they soon discover that Raven saved her comrades from the explosion by enveloping everyone inside of her soul-self and teleporting aboard the H.I.V.E. station. The Titans begin fighting through another throng of H.I.V.E. shock-troops and Starfire is injured when her body is stunned by electrified cables that drop down out of the ceiling. Jericho takes control of her body and presses onward deeper into the H.I.V.E. base.
At Titans Tower, Changeling returns home, still lamenting the loss of Terra. Cyborg enters the room and the two have a heart-to-heart. Gar's spirits are lifted by the arrival of an old friend - Jillian Jackson. Jillian was once Changeling's high school sweetheart.
Back at the H.I.V.E. base, the Titans continue fighting their way through an endless morass of soldiers until they come to a torpedo bay. They discover that the H.I.V.E. intends on destroying Atlantis as a show of power in the hopes that their reputation will enable them to blackmail world leaders into surrendering to them. The H.I.V.E. Mistress launches the torpedo, but Aqualad manages to disable it before it reaches Atlantis. Realizing that the battle is lost, the H.I.V.E. Mistress murders her Inner Council then takes her own life. With the battle won, the Titans wave goodbye to Aqualad and Aquagirl, board the T-Sub and return home.
REVIEW
Perhaps it was clear at the time of publishing, but it isn’t now. We are supposed to finish all original stories from “Tales” before starting to read the Baxter series. As a result (possibly to avoid confusing readers), Raven is going to be absent from most stories in “Tales” (as she has quite the character development in the first arc of the Baxter series). This is also not that clear when you reach the end, as it pretty much ends where the Crisis starts (but by then, the Crisis was 8 issues in). So when are you supposed to read the Baxter series? After issue 58 for sure. But be sure to read the first arc before Crisis.
Now that it is clear, we finally see the end of this iteration of H.I.V.E. and to be honest, I only care because I couldn’t stand them. Their mission was never that clear, and even in this one, destroying Atlantis doesn’t align that much with their idea of blackmailing countries... the whole plot feels half cooked.
I enjoy every time we get an Aqualad cameo, and in this case we also get Wally West cameos. The Monitor’s satellite at the end makes sense... but unlike earlier cameos, I have to assume that by this point in history, Wolfman was already aware of what he was going to do in the Crisis. But I don’t know. Monitor and Lyla were very active in the few months preceding the Crisis and I am not sure how many writers were in the know. I know Cary Bates knew a year in advance that he had to end his Flash run, so that would make it October 1984, the month issue #47 came out (technically there is a two-month difference, but it would be the same amount of time). So to me, by this point, they had to have Crisis all plotted out. Maybe that is why Aquagirl appeared in this story.
I give this story a score of 8
Sing
Out of the 5 residents of Titans tower: Cyborg was arguably the most musically-inclined. Knowing all the lyrics to countless songs, he made it so that all other members of the team knew them too. However, another titan was also, arguably 'harmoniously gifted.'
Robin was treating Starfire to a date at the zoo, knowing how much her child-like curiosity loved seeing all the amazing and interesting creatures, earth had to offer. Cyborg was out of town visiting a 'contact.' It didn't take the world's greatest detective to deduce that 'contact' = 'date.'
Under the impression he had the tower to himself; Beast Boy took to the lavatory. An urge had hit him (No, not that kind) and he couldn't hold it back any longer, he had to let it out.
The green bean locked the door, dumped his purple and black doom patrol uniform on the laundry basket in a disorganised heap and twisted the faucet. Feeling the hot water trickle down his green skin; the wall of sound and steam the hot shower created, was heavenly. The excited teen stepped into the heated drizzle and began to sing.
"Sing, sing like there's no-body wat-ching. Sing, sing like there's NO-body wat-ching. Sing, sing like there's NO-body list-en-ing. Sing, sing like there's no-body list-en-ing. Sing!" Beast boy sang, gayly under the warmth and comfort of the downpour. Raven, who also believed herself to be alone in the tower, was taken aback by the sudden harmonious outburst. Her room was directly adjacent to the bathroom he was singing ever-so loudly and proudly in. The muffled noise was nothing but an unpleasant distraction to the Empath's reading of 'Myths of the nether-realm.' Promptly slamming her book closed, the sorceress decided to act on the matter by politely asking Beast Boy to shut the hell up. Leaving her room, the empath marched up to the bathroom and began to bang her fist on the door, loud enough for the changeling to hear.
"Beast Boy, I can't hear myself think! Could you pipe down for Azar's sake?"
"I feel like I'm sin-king, I feel like I'm reaching-" Gar was in the middle of the first rap-like verse, completely oblivious to any knocking on doors the empath was doing, by a combination of his own voice and the running water.
"Beast Boy!" The demoness exclaimed once more, to no avail. "Don't make me come in there, Garfield." She threatened, though hadn't fully realised the extent of what she had to just put forward. Even though she was the only one who heard herself, the idea of 'accidentally' seeing Beast Boy naked in the shower, made her cheeks flush redder than the ripest of tomatoes.
"NO-body LIST-EN-ING-" he continued to sing.
"Look who's talking…" she ironically deadpanned to no one, mildly amused with her sarcastic comment, enough so to warrant a tiny smirk to grace her face. She pondered for a moment; it was ironic that of all songs to sing out loud, it was a song about singing as if nobody were watching or listening, yet she was clearly listening, through no choice of her own, and was also contemplating 'watching' him in the shower… kind of. She audibly groaned. "Fine, if this is the only way to get you to shut up..." The empath swiftly teleported through the steel and other various materials and matter the bathroom wall consisted of, within milliseconds she was in the same room as Gar, naked, in the shower, singing his little heart out.
"Sing, sing like there's no-body watching. Sing –"
The sorceress glared through the copious clouds of steam, at the silhouette cluelessly gesturing behind the cyan shower curtain, attempting to scrub himself whilst 'dancing' to the song he was singing, as if he were performing on stage. She couldn't speak for two reasons: one, he might hear her and that would be a situation best to be avoided, two, when devoid of the disturbance and the muffling through the Tower's walls; Garfield Logan had an amazing singing voice.
Raven floated in silence. Floored, she just levitated, listening to him, well… sing… like there was nobody watching or listening. As far as he knew, that was the case. She was in awe at his hidden ability, stunned he hadn't let it slip somewhere down the line.
"SIIIIIIIING-" Gar held the note perfectly, he had reached the bridge of the song, the part with a beautiful choir in the background. He managed to sing parts of the song where there were counter-point melodies, switching between each melody with incredible precision, an impressive skill. "No-body… No-bo-dy... sing." He melodically concluded. After finishing reciting his current jam; the shapeshifter twisted the faucet, turning off the water. Raven panicked yet didn't deny that curiosity almost got the better of her: slightly wishing she could have seen Beast Boy completely exposed. However, she came to her senses and quickly teleported back to her room after her brief spying operation.
Landing on her purple, cushioned bed, she grabbed her book with haste to look as if she wasn't doing anything suspicious or out-of-character, just in case Garfield were to walk in for whatever reason. Still adjusting to the jarring change in atmosphere from the steamy bathroom to the cool air of her bedroom; Raven heard the distinct sound of the bathroom door unlock, open and then close again. Upon hearing the familiar thud of one of the titan's bedroom doors closing, the demoness eagerly put down her book, with a much different agenda now on her mind.
Saying he had piqued her interest, was an understatement. She had to know what song he had recited so beautifully. Looking up the lyrics she had heard from his lips, on her phone; eventually, she found it: 'Nobody's watching' by Hollywood Undead. She eagerly plugged her earphones in to listen to the original, non-BB cover. Just when she thought she couldn't be any more surprised today; the enchantress was blown away by how flawlessly he had performed a song he had no hand in creating. It also helped that she too was a fan of the song, having listened to it 5 times on repeat, now. Raven had decided on something: she was determined to learn the lyrics.
3 days later, the resident devil daughter found herself alone in the tower. Raven deduced that she needed to bathe. The enchantress floated silently to the bathroom, ensuring the door was firmly locked behind her. She removed her cloak, leotard and undergarments, placing them on the laundry basket in a neat pile. The empath outstretched her hand towards the faucet, prepared to feel the heat from the oncoming torrent. The room filled with immense concentrations of steam from the shower; Raven stepped into the aqua cascade.
The sorceress began to mix the shampoo in with her flawless, purple hair. She took a deep breath, trying to repress the butterflies in her stomach. She had spent the last 3 days learning the lyrics off by heart. She was confident. She was going to do it, nothing and no one could stop her.
"Sing, sing like there's no-body wat-ching. Sing, sing like there's NO-body wat-ching. Sing, sing like there's NO-body list-en-ing. Sing, sing like there's no-body list-en-ing. Sing-" Raven's singing voice was incredible, there was nothing quite like it. She hit every note with ease, immaculately reciting a song she had grown to love over the last few days. "-NO-BO-DY…sing." The empath proudly concluded, satisfied that no one was around to hear her performance. The now musically-inclined sorceress turned the faucet, shutting off the water. Stepping out into the foggy and silent bathroom; Raven was shocked to hear the silence broken… from outside. More surprising to her still; it was… clapping. It turned out: someone was listening. From the sounds of it; the demoness had a chromatically challenged fan club of one.
“it goes like this”
Here’s my contribution to RobStar Week Day 6: Children (which is more like a cameo hehe)
Summary: they’ve got superpowers, and you’re not talking about starbolts or ancient incantations
(Or: a look into Nightwing’s train of thought)
ao3 version ~ ff.net version ~
A/N: I’ve been taking these prompts pretty loosely and I hope that’s alright with everyone. Also it’s definitely RobStar but note that this fic covers a lot of ground with Robin and the other Titans so if that’s not your thing then by all means I’ll see you on day 7 for some classic RxS fluff
1.
It goes like this.
The morning light ebbs and flows through her hair like waves of fire, and you wonder how you got on with life before she started sleeping in your room, because waking up to this—a glorious configuration of golden skin and red hair and bright green eyes tangled in the sheets—seems like the only correct way to start the day. Her hand snakes out of the blanket and she runs her thumb across your jaw. There are fifty emotions on her face, and because you’ve been with her for some time now, you know she’s about to tell you something sad, and intimate, and honest.
“I believe leaving Tamaran was the worst thing to happen to me.”
That’s a new one.
“Really?”
She nods. “Because it was home. And now I’m here and Earth is home. I can no longer be in either place without missing the other. I fear I am going to spend the rest of my life in a state of yearning, regardless of where I am.”
This is a dilemma because you can’t relate. There’s no “yearning” going on when you think of where you grew up. Gotham is more of a ghost you can’t shake off than it is anything else. But then Kory takes your fingers and brings it up to her lips, and you’re reminded that right now she’s not looking for someone with answers. She’s looking for you, here, sharing the same pillow and breathing the same air while she chips at raw, unorganized thoughts bit by bit. For her this is good enough, and she deserves more than good enough but it’s only morning so there’s time to make it up to her.
And that’s important because Kory’s kind of the most beautiful thing in your life right now and it has nothing to do with her face or her body and everything to do with the life force thrumming inside her, pure and ferocious, and her vulnerabilities and her trust and her kindness that have all miraculously stayed alive despite everything she’s been through. They’re the foundations of the safe house you’ve been building for yourself inside of her.
You’ll have to get out of bed eventually. You both do. You have a team to lead and she’s got to play her part in it. But for now, you give yourself a pass to be selfish, and you cup her face into your hands and you kiss her so deeply you don’t even know who is breathing for whom. And that’s how you let your day begin.
2.
Sometimes you can’t even stand to look at him.
But you’d rather Garfield not know that, because it’s not his fault. So you take the mug of coffee he’s offering you like it’s no big deal and you lean back against the counter, pretending the way he hums commercial tunes while reading the back of the cereal box doesn’t make your heart ache.
You’ve maneuvered the big brother thing with Jason and Tim in the same style Bruce maneuvered fatherhood with you: with an awkwardness beyond measure and heaps of crippling self-doubt and a whole lot of mistakes to seal the deal. So sometimes Garfield terrifies you. Because there’s a brotherhood going on and you rank on his list of role models, and you just don’t want to fuck it up. You’ve seen what it’s like to have a kid so lost and disturbed it got it himself killed. Or the way grief can come down on everyone like a grenade. You know guilt in all its shiny forms, and the insidious way it unravels you with thoughts of what you should have said and what you could have done to keep that boy alive.
Garfield is nothing like Jason. But you’re not really interested in taking any chances. Because behind a screen of lame jokes and false bravado is someone who’s had a childhood much tougher than he lets on. Gar’s got the concealment of pain thing down. And if his powers have taught him anything, it’s how to adapt, how to get from one form to another in order to survive. That’s resiliency, and Garfield’s got it in spades.
He’s growing into something spectacular, and just please, please don’t fuck it up, Dick. Because you’re tired of lost potential, and you know you won’t claw your way out of darkness if it happens a second time.
Gar’s reading the nutritional value of Fruity-O’s on the side of the box and you can’t stop thinking how decent he is. There’s a leader inside him, he doesn’t even realize it yet. You’ve been waiting for the right time to start a new type of discussion with Gar, one about change and the future of the team and your intentions of making him a bigger part of it. Maybe the right time is today. So you stand there, rehearsing it in your mind.
“Dude, you ever wonder how calorically dense a booger is?”
Maybe not today.
3.
Raven’s got hawkeye vision because there is no other reason for you two to be sitting this far away from the mark. The distance is the span of the whole food court and the little girl looks like a tiny blip in a sea of Jump City consumers.
The mall as the venue is your idea, because it’s best to not make a scene, but you’ve tagged along in case things go sour since you never want Raven to be dealing with shit alone. Maybe it’s because she’s been inside your head, or because she’s got the bases covered with father issues and toxic vices and you can both struggle together, but for whatever reason, Raven knows you better than anybody. Better than Bruce and Alfred and Babs and Donna. Even better than Kory.
Maybe it works both ways, because you know what she’s thinking right now.
“They start them young, don’t they?”
The mark is barely a teenager, with a gaunt face and empty eyes and she’s scrawny and pale in a way she shouldn’t be. And there’s a story somewhere but all you need to know is that the system thoroughly failed her, and when people are that desperate and alone and marginalized, they tend to seek salvation in darker places.
Like a Trigonic cult, and Raven’s committed to not having that happen.
Because it’s against the rules of Raven to believe there’s nothing you can do to help those who’ve spiraled into darkness. Raven believes everyone—everyone—is redeemable. And here’s where Gotham rears its ugly head and mucks it all up for you, because you don’t know if you agree. You think you’ve seen irretrievable people before. But Raven’s got a faith in humanity so fierce it can shake your own beliefs and that’s also why you’ve tagged along. Because you want a revelation.
Raven looks at you. “Do you think people notice when I’m around?”
“I notice when you’re not. Does that count?”
“What if I’m not enough to change her mind?”
“Let’s find out.”
You see it well up in her face, the self-doubt. And suddenly she’s rambling to you in a quiet voice about how maybe she‘s not the right person for the job. It should be you. It should be Starfire. It should be someone with an actual joy for life to sell and I can’t do it, Nightwing and I’m too unengaging and Why do I feel like something’s missing in my life without you guys and you guys don’t feel the same about me? and Everything’s swirling away and I’m swirling apart—
Raven’s getting a little hysterical, so you grab her hand.
“I think it’s about time you save that girl.”
She takes the first step forward. And you’re mentally throwing all the strength you have at her. Raven doesn’t realize how much you’ve made her well-being a priority in your life. That you had secretly vowed long ago to keep her around forever.
4.
The team is sitting on a gold mine with this guy and it’s like nobody notices but you.
The end of the day hits and Cy’s got the foresight to wrangle you all up into the T-mobile, and before you know it you’re at the pier, watching Kory explain to the children on line for the cotton candy vendor not to be startled if it disappears in their mouths. Garfield’s got Raven by the arm, dragging her towards the Tunnel of Love with a sadistic gleam in his eye, and you just take it all in, amused out of your mind to witness Cyborg dip into the booth of a very, very pretty fortune teller.
Cyborg’s ironically the most human out of all of you, because he doesn’t forget to relax and if he sees you neglecting yourself he’ll shove relaxation down your throat as well, because he’s a no-man-left-behind kind of guy. Cy’s way passed dealing with his pain and that’s what makes him a success story. Maybe one day you’ll get there too.
Cyborg leaves the booth with a smug smile and the fortune teller’s number. He walks towards you, giving a subtle gesture of victory and you go in for the fist bump, grinning ear to ear. “Please don’t tell me you gave her the ‘I see your future and it’s me’ spiel.”
Cyborg looks at you like you’re not making any sense, and points to himself. “Look at me. You think I need a pick up line with shoulders like these?”
You can’t get enough of him. Of any of them. Because they’ve got superpowers, and you’re not talking about starbolts or ancient incantations. You’re talking about Starfire’s kindness and Garfield’s resiliency and Raven’s faith and Cy’s confidence and you know you’ve got to deliver too. You’ve got to make all this worth it for them. Because for some godforsaken reason the universe sent you a family you don’t deserve and you have no intention of giving it up anytime soon.
Starfire runs up and kisses you. She tastes like cotton candy, and you realize you finally have an answer for her. You want to tell her to stop seeing home as a place, and start seeing it as a group of people who have her heart. That way, no matter where everyone ends up in the future, every stretch of space between one loved one and another won’t seem so terrifying.
A few years ago you came to this city because you were running away from something. And look at you now, drawn in like a magnet.
You breath in rhythm with all of them, and it’s kind of everything.
—————————— Exceptional Human Beings
- Is this... Batman works with Oracle. It’s the same tech than Nightwing!
- Yes! These is Katana and Metamorpho! I already love Metamorpho facial expressions! The scene from the trailer! Santa Prisca, Bane’s island! They’re so efficient! (Yeah, I have in mind the first time of the Team on the Island...)
- Is it thanks to Jade’s intel? So they will save Tara? :D
- Victor Stone? So this is Dr Silas Stone! I saw the movie, I know Dr Stone wont have time to go... Oh! The Reach tech is back!
- And it’s Steel or John Irons. (Why every person choosing a English name comes with John?)
- Did... did Metamorpho just turn himself into a fart? Seriously? Katana in the background and the indignated face of Metamorpho xD
- Sex implied, definitely mature content... Is it really the time to talk about Dick? You know what I mean... Wait, was that a joke? Like a subtext joke?
- Training Time! Forager’s sounds are so funny!
- Violet fell because she was blushing and Brion uses his powers because he was blushing. They’re cute! :3
- Nightwing definitely knows Batman is on Santa Prisca already and knows Brion will likely get himself killed with his actual combat skills...
- Deathstroke in the place. Oh she’s Cassandra, Savage’s daughter (yeah a lot of Cassandra this season!)
- She knows Tara! Now she’s is used by Granny Goodness... And Cassandra seems to... like her? She is a different character than Scandal (who is lesbian) right? Because I don’t want our first rep to be a pedophilic rapist, thank you very much... We already had Slade for that in Judas Contract...
- “I have observed that.” Definitely thinking about her sister Olympia :(
-  Victor’s team! “I would ask Wonder Woman out!” “Me Black Canary” *Vctor rolls his eyes* Are we wasting screentime for straight idiots? (and I mean it in both ways) Just a question: do you think Victor could be gay with his reactions to the “straights comments”?
- “Cisco, a superhero?!” Well, Francisco Ramon will be a superhero one day (but I don’t know his powers yet.) Don’t worry my dear, a lot of people love Zatanna! He’s a Spanish speaker, from where?
- Victor don’t appreciate the bullying but not interfere :( But he’s so above their shit!
- Boo-yah is back! I can’t believe they also gave this easter egg!
- Batman or how burn someone with only words! xD
- “I always hated that name too!” Why don’t you change for you mother name, Arty? :(
- Violet Harper, I love how the writers connect the dots between the comics and what happens on the show!
- JADE! I love how she’s smiling, like she considerates it. We know she would love that. Why could hold her back? How could she think they don’t need her? Because of her father? Football... er I mean soccer is just a lame excuse! She’s crying! She definitely loves them! :’(
- Katana VS Lady Shiva! OMG Katana also uses a wakizashi (a short saber) with her katana like a samouraï :o
- “Bulletproof. That’s annoying” We already know that line but still funny xD So Metamorpho isn’t fireproof? That’s his true form!
- Oracle time!
- “No, no my guns!” Seriously Bane? Metamorpho just blows them a kiss xD
- Booyah! Someone is still using the goggles... Poor Vic :( “I see great things in your future” while showing a FatherBox. I don’t like it... I know the story but still don’t like it...
- Brucely! (Or Bruce Lee?) Such a good boy!
By the way, Katana never talks. She took a vow of silence after her sensei dies.
—————————— Another Freak
- First, I don’t like the title. I dislike even more the wiring from the Reach tech...
- There’s a bad father/son relationship (I mean with fights) each season, isn’t there? “Scene/seen. Now you’re boying me?” I love the dialogue! I know I could hate the wiring... The “dad” at the end broke my heart :’(
- “But Brion Markov’s attitude will soon change! :D” Forager knows what’s going on between those two. Forager is a Haloforce shipper! Human Forager is so cute!! “Be careful on the boys! They only have one thing on their mind!” “What one thing?” *embarassed Brion* “If we arrive with the councelor and the principal, all the other kids will love us!” My poor summer child... “No flying at school!” xD
- After gory Halo, here’s gory Victor :( And here comes the Fatherbox so bad news?
- “I’m so happy to be here it makes me sick” Violet is still dealing with human emotions. Stay whelmed! Or could it be the Fatherbox?
- Is that Terra with blue hair?? And... freckles? (she has the same character design that in the animated movie) Oh she’s Harper Row. My bad. The whole conversation was hilarious and cute!
- Victor’s still alive!
- Of course, access denied. Nightwing knows he would do it. He did it as Robin first! And of course Nightwing appears! And now they’re fighting...but with it Brion could speak his heart out.
- “How they could know us if they don’t interact with us?” I know Forager. Most human are most judgmental at first sight...
- “Are Violet and Fred freaks?” Oh no sweetie don’t think that :( “But Fred must look like a freak...” He refers to his human form. It’s logical. Would you feel like yourself in an alien form? “Freak is cool.” Exactly! “Two hands only” xD
- Victor is freaking out. Naturally. So... he goes... violet when the fatherbox takes control? Like he calls to be heal.  So the violet color has a reverse meaning for a fatherbow than for a motherbox, logical as they are the two faces of the same coin.
- Harper is so sweet!
- Whoa new aura: indigo (between blue and violet). So we still don’t know what blue aura does (and black aura, but I’m not sure it exists). What does it do? She opened a Boom tube?
- “I’m not an abomination. I’m a freak.” That’s the spirit. That’s my girl!
- Pleasedon’tmurderhalo! pleasedon’tmurderhalo! Yes! She’s okay!
- She’s healing him! Poor Vic, he’s so confused. “My work here is done.” Violet is so cute!
- Silas trying to find a common thing with Vic is sweet but yeah.. Vic would feel like a rat lab, ask Ed. “Can I go with you?” His voice was so heartbreaking :( Victor prefers to leave to not hurt his father again :( Yeah he’s angry, it’s understanding. At least, he’s alive right?
- Kind of ironic they boomed tube in a football field...
- Brion is finally moving forward! :D
- Lobo’s finger begins to morph. Slobo on the way!
—————————— Nightmare Monkeys
- Tork from Mars, seriously? xD M’Comm should be so pissed...
Was that the Wilhelm scream?
- “I have practice” My heart :(
- it’s Paul who played Conner in Hello Megan! What time had done to you? Gar’s look when they talked about Marie :( Paul is his godfather! And Rita his godmother. Steven is his stepfather? That means he was with Rita, right? He’s Mento? “Thanks God.” I think they both don’t like the situation but still try to play their part...
- I don’t know if this seashell alien is real or just a costume...
- We were right! Halo IS a Motherbox! What happen to the script? Now we can predict things :( She’s... the reincarnation of the dead Motherbox Doctor X and Psimon studied. So Queen Bee works with Vertigo, since Psimon works for Quee Bee. So Gabrielle Daou consciousness died, murdered by Bedlam’s minions and the Motherbox soul regenerates/resurected in her body because she needed a vessel. But Violet still has some of Gabrielle’s memories via the brain, but maybe not her thoughts or emotions?
- I love the Emerald Crown teasing! Was Gar talking about his mother(s) when he said queen? That needle doesn’t seem good...
- “And now he tells you to be patient...” xD
Sphere, stay whelmed! And... the Fatherbow is awake again... And... Conner is shirtless again... Halo has clearly no idea what she’s doing. So cute she calms Sphere down :)
- So that doesn”t sound good... Encino, what/where that could be?
- “He’s dead, Tom.” What that the voice of... WALLY??? And all the dead heroes in the grotto... I mean Watchtower garden.
- Great! Supermartian know how to communicate now :) “Alone time” Weren’t you have a “intimate” time in a bathroom two episodes ago? “Date night/Secret base” Yeah Wolf me too. They got the communication, not the understanding...
- “The Reach... I mean the Klamulons” seriously?
- Tula, Ted Kord, Jason, was that the chronological order? I thought Ted was the last one. That’s why in season Tim went to Jason’s hologramme. Ted Kord died during the Summer break and they were in February. So Tim was a really young Robin!
- Wally speaks to casually about their death. “Who’s next? Guess it’s me.” Does that mean he’s not dead yet? But could soon be? Wally’s death scene reminds me how good the previous style was... RIP too! “Cancel the show already?” I heard the 4th wall break down.
- DOOM PATROL GO! WHAT’S THE HECK?The 4th wall is collapsing in a firy explosion.
- Garfield also collapsed. AAAAAAAAAAAAAH!
Rita Aka Elasticgirl with Starfire’s voice. Chief with Robin’s voice. Robotman with Cyborg’s voice (more like Cyborg’s father xD), Negative Woman with Raven’s voice.
- Steve Dayton is indeed Rita’s husband; So Rita adopted Garfield when Marie died? She did!
- “Sorry your mom(s?) died!” The song. “Just say goodbye to your second mom!” Rita and Marie were together? Was Rita bi/pan? “Let’s die!”
- Of course M’gann save the day, back with her season 1 appearance. The whole Mento’s speech is how Gar sees the situation right? Not the truth right? “I was 14.” Wait, all of this (except Marie’s death) only happen last year?
- M’gann is there to save her brother!
“Sure you’re even born yet?” This joke could also work with Bart. Man, if Bart was in that episode...
- “Queen Bee wants her honey back!” That was a lesbian joke right? The first rep of this season would be Queen Bee? Being Bi? (Why in English bi is pronounced like by and not bee? Do you see the missed joke here?)
- “Let’s watch the episode you were in.” Season 2. The pieces of the 4th wall break again.
- “Shut it down.” “I can’t hear a heartbeat.” He meant the channel, not the heart, Wally. Wait, was it a death wish because Gar can’t handle with all the mourning happening in a few minutes?
- Reminder: Beast Boy’s metagene was activated by Martian transfusion and a bite from a green monkey.
- Mass conservation? Is it a clue for Wally’s return? Like his mass was conserved somewhere when he was desintegrated? A place where he can save Garfield from the Goggles? How can Gar remember Wally’s death if he wasn’t even there?! But he appears as the green monkey to show a parallel? Between the monkey and blood transfusion saving him and Wally saving him now?
- Come back as a hero my boy!
- “Are you real or is this all in my head?” Ask Dumbledore, kid.
- M’gann is in the place! White but with a green aura.
- Yes, I think it was a distraction to cope with all the trauma.
- “Ready to get back to reality. Ready to get back to the life.” hero life? It was both litteral and metaphorical.
- Perdita who don’t understand the Team’s slang :) Gar, did you teach anything to her?
- Garfield finally understand that Gretchen is a bad guy. But it feels off as we already know it. The Evolution episode should have happen after this I think?
- Emerald Crown is so cute! Their kiss was ok, but why M’gann are you doing the same in front of your brother?
- Haloforce kiss! After we finally understand who Violet is! But I would like to see the moment which brings to the kiss :(
- Sphere!
- Of course Wally won’t come back until part b or even the end of the season, will he?
—————————— True Heroes
- It’s Halloween! Halo and Forager are adorable as usual.
- Poor Vic :( Halloween cancel and Violet can’t come :( Forager drives bioship xD (Such a weird sentence...)
- Tara is 15, same age than Bart and Gar.
- Dr Jace had a little girl. who was taken from her. Was she meta? It’s thay why she started to work with Bedlam? To have intel to find her? Or did Bedlam blackmail her to make her work for him? That’s why she’s is so overprotecting with the kids?
- “You’re be my little girl for tonight.” That sounds creepy, right?
- “I know I said pretend I’m not here but I’m.” Yeah, Dr Jace, maybe not the best way to explain where the teenager hormones lead to...
- “Vulnerable” weaks the Fatherbox up. Great. And it’s because she is vulnerable, Dr Jace tries to be closer?
- Cameron (Icycle Jr) and the Terror Twins grew up so much... And not in a good way. I miss the Twins’ design in season 1. They get uglier each season, bad guy cliche. But Tommy could be the Bad Blue Beetle from Bart’s future, they have quite the same morphology and Queen Bee sold Chimmer to the Reach, why not him too?
- Holocaust?
- Wolf attacking the Fatherrbox.
Dr Jace just took a violet ray and if they’re like Halo’s yellow one she should be badly injured... Not just inconscious.
- Emotions turn off Halo’s powers? They just activated them!
- Earth VS FIre. Terra lost :(
- Stay Whelmed, Brion!
- Psimon out! Wait, did just Devastation called him baby?
- Tara is free!
- And Holocaust is with a Queen Bee’s minions.
- Family reunion!
- YJ is now a scary movie. Maybe it’s just panic which shut down Halo’s powers? Fight Vic! “The problem is I had too much.” So it was panic. Now save him!
- Yeah, go save the other kids!
- The conversation between Junior and SB is so chill (no pun intended) and funny. “She was my girl.” “But I was into her.” Dudes, it’s not a competition or a race, just let the girl decide maybe?
- “Maybe that means there’s hope for me too!” Redeem arc foreshadowing?
- “Ow.” Junior plays dead.
- Can we appreciate SB’s combat style?
- Princess speech!
- The Black girl speaks French? Who they could be? Anita?
- League and Team squads were successful” I wish we could have seen them :(
- Dr Jace activated Tara’s metagene on the blackmailing to kill her :o
- Princess speech! :D
- Violet cry of joy is so cute! :)
- “M’gann’s gonna kill me.” xD
- Wait, why is Dr Jace taking Violet’s, hair?
- “They’re ready for the Team!” We’re gonna go our children back! But maybe give Tara some rest?
- “I’m in.” So we go for the Judas Contract storyline? Or that is a mislead?
- Wolf in the Bioship!
5 months to wait now :(
