As you were typing out your message to the groupchat, your phone buzzed. You looked up at the message, a smile spreading on your lips.

You closed your phone, shutting your eyes as you swallowed a squeal of excitement.

The thrill of talking to Paige was almost overwhelming, but in the best possible way. You'd thought she was attractive since you'd first gotten into basketball back in high school (yes, it was because of your ex but that's besides that point), and it was surreal now that she was not only talking to you ─ she was hitting on you.

It had been a few weeks since you'd began talking to Paige and since then, you'd exchanged phone numbers and were talking every single day. She was sending you good morning texts, she made sure to do an fit check every morning, and you found yourself eagerly awaiting each message from her. The thrill of talking to Paige hadn't faded; if anything, it had only intensified as you got to know her better.

However, you knew since the season was beginning she wasn't going to be as free as she was before. You didn't mind, of course ─ you were just happy you were able to talk to her at all. These last couple days had been busy for her and you hadn't been able to talk to her, but this morning you'd gotten something in the mail that you were sure you didn't order.

You ripped it open to reveal Paige's jersey, and it was even signed at the bottom. You couldn't believe it, your heart swelling with warmth at the unexpected gesture from her. Holding the jersey in your hands, you couldn't help but smile at the thoughtfulness behind her gift.

As if on cue, your phone began buzzing in your pocket and you pulled it out. You quickly accepted the Facetime, a grin on your face as you answered.

"Oh my god, you're insane."

"What? You got the jersey?" Paige feigned shock, a mischievous glint in her eyes as she grinned at you through the screen. "I have no idea how that got there."

You chuckled, shaking your head in disbelief. "Yeah, I got it. Thank you so much, Paige. It's... it's amazing."

Paige's smile softened, her eyes warm with affection. "You're welcome. I just wanted to show my appreciation for you, you know?"

You felt a swell of warmth in your chest. "Well, it definitely made my day. Thanks, P. I really mean it."

Paige smirked as she took you in through the Facetime. "So, I guess you'll have to wear it to my games now, right? You can't let this signed jersey go to waste."

"Is that an invitation, P?" You teased, raising an eyebrow playfully as you grinned at Paige through the screen. The idea of attending Paige's games in her signed jersey filled you with excitement, and you couldn't wait to cheer her on from the stands.

Paige chuckled, her smirk widening. "Yeah, you down? You know our first game's on Thursday night, I'll get you floor tickets and everything."

You didn't think she was serious but the more you thought about it, the more you realized she might actually be serious. The excitement bubbled up within you at the thought of attending Paige's game, especially with floor tickets.

"Are you serious?" you asked, a hint of disbelief in your voice.

"Well, uh. I know it's a long flight but I wanna see you. I'll fly you out, I'll show you around and we can spend some time together, and stuff." Paige's usual confident demeanor was replaced with a touch of nervousness, her eyes searching yours for a reaction.

"Paige, are you sure?" you asked, your voice barely above a whisper. The idea of spending time together in person was both thrilling and nerve-wracking, and you couldn't believe that Paige was offering to fly you out just to see her.

Paige nodded, a shy smile tugging at her lips. "Of course, I would. I mean, if you want to."

"Yeah, of course I would. You're sure?" You spoke softly but earnestly. Flights were expensive, especially when they were as last minute as this.

You blushed slightly as you nodded, taking the jersey as you walked up the stairs of your house. You couldn't believe it ─ you were flying out to meet Paige in less than a week. You were going to meet Paige Bueckers in less than a week.

Paige kept her eyes on her phone as she nodded slowly, as if it was the most normal thing in the world. She tried to keep the whole nonchalant thing going up but her friends could see right through it.

Paige couldn't help but smirk at KK's shocked reaction, though she attempted to maintain an air of nonchalance. "Yeah, she is," she replied casually, her fingers tapping away on her phone.

"She's coming to watch us play, like on Thursday?" KK repeated slowly as she tried to process the information, her eyes still wide with astonishment. "Seriously?"

Paige shrugged, a small smile playing at the corners of her lips. "Yeah, seriously. Why is it so hard to believe?"

Ice, who had been lounging next to KK, chimed in with a smile. "Sounds like you're getting serious, P. Bringing her to a game? That's basically a relationship milestone."

Paige rolled her eyes playfully at Ice's comment. "It's not like that, Ice. We're just friends."

"Don't worry, we can ask her Thursday," Ice teased as she leaned back in the bed, her grin widening.

You were incredibly nervous and the noise of the crowded stadium didn't do much to calm your already frayed nerves. It was your first time meeting Paige in person, and the anticipation had been building up inside you since the moment you boarded the plane to Connecticut.

The plan was to originally go to a pre-game dinner but it didn't really work out because of the traffic and the hectic schedule leading up to the game. Instead, Paige suggested meeting directly at the stadium, where she would give you a tour and introduce you to some of her teammates before the game started.

As you made your way through the crowds, your heart pounded with nervous excitement. Thoughts raced through your mind, wondering if Paige would like you in person as much as she seemed to over text, if you would have enough to talk about, and if you'd be able to keep your nerves in check. You were a nervous wreck, your stomach twisting in anxiety.

You couldn't help but feel a knot forming in your stomach as you scanned the crowd, searching for Paige among the sea of faces. Suddenly, you spotted her standing near the entrance to the court, her eyes scanning the crowd with a look of concentration. Your breath caught in your throat as you made eye contact, and a wave of relief washed over you.

God, she was even more attractive in real life. Her hair was in her signature braided ponytail and had worn some light make-up, her lashes long and her cheeks pink with blush.

"Yeah, I wanted to show my support," you replied, trying to keep your voice steady despite the fluttering of nerves in your stomach. "Plus, it's pretty comfy."

Paige grinned, her smile widening at your response. "Well, you look amazing in it. Maybe even better than I do," she teased, her eyes twinkling with mischief.

You couldn't help but laugh at her teasing, your blush deepening as you looked up at the taller girl. "You're such a flirt,"

Before you could reply, you felt a tap on your shoulder. You turned around to meet the gazes of two girls and a boy, their expressions nervous and excited. "Oh my god, we are such big fans!"

The trio's faces lit up with excitement as they nodded eagerly. "Yes, please!" one of the girls exclaimed, her voice filled with excitement.

"Can she take the picture?" One of the girls asked as she gestured toward Paige. She looked like a deer caught in headlights, her hands in her pockets as she exchanged a glance toward you.

You and the fans gathered closer, posing for the picture as Paige stepped back to frame the shot. With a quick press of the button, the photo was taken, capturing the moment. As the fans thanked you both and walked away, chatting animatedly amongst themselves. You glanced toward the blonde as she began laughing, shaking her head.

"What?" You asked as she drew closer to you.

Paige shrugged. "I just kinda forgot you're like famous, or whatever. It kinda gives me like... an ego boost, not gonna lie."

"She talks about you too, like nonstop." KK began before she earned a shove from a very flustered Paige.

Ice continued, "We thought she was lying until we watched your episode with Tana and Brooke, then we were confused cause you like Paige?"

"Why are you saying it like that? Paige?" Paige mocked Ice, earning a laugh from you and KK.

"Cause Y/N's like a whole baddie, like a 20/20 and you're just like... mid at basketball," Ice explained as Paige sent her a playful glare. "People are gonna be really confused until they see how much you make, then they'll be like ohh,"

"Shut up, bro," Paige replied, but there was a fondness in her tone as she exchanged playful banter with Ice. "It's not about basketball skills, it's about the person."

"Sure, sure," KK chimed in with a grin. "We all know you're a catch, Paige. But hey, if Y/N's into it, who are we to judge?"

You laughed at the girls banter, exchanging a smile with Paige as Ice and KK did the same. "Y/N, we have a question."

"Oh no, bro," Paige groaned as KK nudged her slightly, telling her to be quiet as you nodded, laughing softly.

"Can you get us tickets to Tana and Brooke's shows? Please, we really really wanna go," KK asked, her excitement palpable.

KK leaned in with a mischievous grin. "Oh, we know what you mean, Paige. You're just too scared to admit it."

"Okay, well. Thank you so much, Y/N, you're even more stunning in person. I'll leave you guys to it, now," Ice smirked as she grabbed KK and began walking off the court, toward the team.

Paige let out a sigh before she turned over to meet your eyes, a softness to softness to her expression that made your heart flutter. "Sorry about them, they're like that all the time," she said with a chuckle.

You shook your head with a smile, feeling a sense of contentment settle over you. "No, no, they seem really sweet. They remind me of Tana and Brooke though," you laughed as Paige nodded.

"Uh, sure!" Paige teased as you shook your head in amusement. "I need to go take a shower but um, maybe you can come over?"

Your smile widened at the request as you nodded. "Yeah, sounds like fun."

Again, her hand found the small of your back as she led you toward the team. She was soon reminded of a team celebration they were planning on doing later and the girls insisted on bringing you, she realized that you had become their favorite, too.

But she couldn't blame them, you were perfect.

ope I just realized a big reason I was feeling really frustrated/angry on behalf of Evan with the discourse surrounding if K asked for consent or not to fix Evan's arm was because as an autistic person, Evan reads very autistic to me. So when I see people say K asked for consent and then go back and watch the scene and the words "can I try to fix that poorly healed bone," are not explicitly said, I think about all the times I have been harmed by people being vague (both on purpose and not) and not saying what they really mean. The amount of times people have said that I gave consent for something when I very much did not, because they interpreted what I said as consent to fit their narrative and actions is much too many, and for so long people wrote it off as me being naive, turned it around on me, made it my fault when I was the one harmed, the one with my boundaries violated. Oof.

I have had this happen with malicious people and I've had it with non-malicious people, and that's important because K is not malicious, I think they just care so much that sometimes they don't know where to put all that love and care. Also, I read K as neurodivergent/could see them being neurodivergent too, so this isn't me saying they were acting like a neurotypical person, I just think that even neurodivergent people sometimes get really wrapped up communicating in their own ways and forget that for some of us our understanding of language is deeply literal and reading between the lines/interpreting our words differently than what was explicitly stated can be really, really harmful for all parties involved. (sometimes I can hurt people too with my literalism! it's not all black and white obviously)

Like I said, I feel deeply for K because deep down at their core I truly believe their actions aren't about seeing people/things as objects needing to be fixed (despite it coming off that way sometimes), I just think they see themselves as inherently worthless if they are not always using all of their energy trying to help. I get that, and how it feels like you're drowning when you're not giving yourself away to people and causes because theres too much, always too much, love and care and concern and it makes you feel like you're going to implode. One of the hardest lessons I've learned is that sometimes my need to help, to fix, to care, to give, is a little bit more about having control than it is just wanting to help. When you grow up with chronic instability you claw and scratch at anything that might anchor you, and often it's the need to feel like you have worth, you mean something to other people, and you're willing to give yourself away as long as it means you have stable footing beneath you. All of that is to say that I do not blame K (or other people with similar circumstances to mine) for having an unhealthy relationship to control, it's just that in learning so many of my actions are also attached to deep insecurity I've been allowed to finally start healing the way I deserve to heal, and I just want that for others too.

Anyway I need to get my Sam post out before the next episode because I didn't finish it and then watched last nights episode and that was a huge mistake because now I have even more I wanna write about. She is such a complex and beautiful character and every single one of her actions speaks to who she is at her core and I just wanna give her a hug. Truly feels like the peak example of being alone doesn't always mean you're lonely, and being lonely does't always mean you're alone.

But this video is anything BUT respectful! She went silent for almost 5 to 10 days after her Livestream only to make an EVEN worse response not only that but the fact That now she's trying to turn the whole thing into a race issue when race was NEVER even mentioned by Jo or anyone EXCEPT Nondi! Nondi was the ONLY one who said anything about her skintone but now I'm starting to realize something

At this point this isn't even about the AI anymore Nondi is just being a straight-up bully and slandering Everyone involved specifically Jo painting her in a TERRIBLE TERRIBLE Light(whilst now Nondi fans are also now sending Jo hate comments and a few were DEATH THREATS)

Not only that but in the description to her animatic not only is she "Not sorry" she made a lengthy doc(and yes I read every single word) where she fails to take accountability and passes blame onto the critics and Jo and making excuses for her behavior and adding extra things that are half-true, not relevant to the situation, gaslighting fans, and downright lies of which she claims is the "truth"

I am 100% on Jo's side of the drama

Jo said that nondi was entitled to her opinion and was not calling her bad in ANY WAY Jo was rightfully upset about how nondi portrayed her in the Livestream(she hasn't seen the Animatic yet) and for some reason nondi and her die-hards decided to attack her when Jo just made a harmless statement and even said not to harass anyone at the VERY beginning of her video plus she Cannot be blamed for who saw the video she is not in control of what the algorithm shows us as she said that her intended target for the video were people who WERE actually aware of the situation WITH the exception of a FEW new eyes NOT 200,000(now 400,000) new eyes and she did apologize for that and I do agree if people did not watch Nondi's ai stance video and then Jo's video(even though jo DID say to watch Nondi's video first to get the full context)

(Note: I watched Nondi's full ai stance video before Jo uploaded hers) and just saw Jo's video(depending on how much you watched of Jo's video) and just relentlessly attacked nondi are also in just as much of the wrong telling her to "Kys" is not helpful and making her more stubborn and while I don't agree with her deleting comments that DO know the full story those critiquing her with no context are 100% justified beacuse context is EVERYTHING however Nondi's reactions and responses are NOT justified whatsoever she is a GROWN ASS WOMAN who knew DAMN WELL what's she's doing especially when she went live with that slander video, Twitter posts and even TODAY'S video and the fact that people are still defending what she's done are also the problem she is not the victim she is the perpetrator and when other people did what she's done now they were called crazy, were ridiculed or nearly lost or DID their careers entirely)

When this youtuber(Colleen Ballinger) made a video pinning blame on the internet for banding together, calling her out on her predatory behavior and made a ukulele musical as a response(in Nondi's a fucking snl skit) her response was seen as the worst youtuber apology/statement videos to date

(Note: this is not an attack on Nicki, Doja nor Meg as I love and respect all 3 of these artists however I can't say the same thing for Colleen as she is a terrible human being)

And while people are saying "omg the art community is so sensitive" and you know what? You're right the art community can get sensitive over everything and anything but that that's not the case people are rightfully upset at nondi she montitezed her ai Playlist Made by a company who's under fire for stealing unauthorized audio and using it but now she's attacking fans and critics who were trying to tell here what she was doing was WRONG

AI is a dangerous practice and a very controversial topic that is threatening not only art but jobs in general if ai was not being trained on stolen work and being seen as a replacement then maybe I would have a different opinion the problem is its not being seen as a tool but as a REPLACEMENT for human artists whist stealing art from them and creating entirely new images for the stolen work and people keep Making excuses for ai if "get with the times" mean I have to just let ai steal my work then I rather be left behind

I don't go looking for spoilers, but sometimes they come looking for me. I generally try to view them as Slander™ and Lies™ because I trust nothing online, but there is one teeny, tiny element that I feel I must address.

Now... the single digits familiar with my proclivities will understand why I might be a teensy bit bothered by the concept of Alastor being beholden to Rosie.

Don't get me wrong, this is a perfectly reasonable direction in which to go and makes (almost) perfect sense.

We will address the "almost" later.

After all:

This is exactly the kind of "we can't have nice relationships" edgelord dynamic a middle-schooler would come up with and then have to reverse engineer to preserve. And this can be done perfectly well! No shade to the tweeny-boppers who want to dominate their own creations. You do you.

It keeps the cast nice and tight. No new and weird elements to throw things off.

It fits well with the "something surprising about Alastor" tease made in interviews. That said, I take issue with a comment I saw about no one coming up with this theory. I have seen this theory mentioned at least twice, although not in a super-serious way.

Assuming this spoiler is true, there is an assumption that Rosie owns Alastor's soul. Which she might! However, soul ownership is not a necessity to have a binding deal (see Alastor and Charlie). It's heavily implied that Rosie operates via favours, which is a particularly insidious form of deal making. Although it would be easier to just have a lien on his soul until he fulfills a bargain, I think it would be just as fair and more interesting to view it as a form of indentured servitude: do one favour and ensure that every measure made to pay that favour back requires another favour so that the debt is never paid.

When was the deal made? Alastor started taking down Overlords almost overnight. Was that his idea or did Rosie want him to get rid of the competition (in any way he saw fit)?

If the way he saw fit gave him too much notoriety and power, it would make sense for him to be ordered off the air for a period of time until his influence was diminished.

It would explain why Alastor doesn't appear to have a physical territory: none of his deals are his own (except for two). He's a broker on Rosie's behalf. I think only Husk and Nifty are bound to him personally for reasons I don't want to type up right now.

With that in mind, it would make sense for him to be sent to the Hazbin Hotel. Why wouldn't Rosie want the princess of Hell to be indebted to her? It's also an excellent opportunity for Alastor to play both sides of the board. Charlie's power level is far above any Overlord's. She can definitely make good on a favour large enough to clear a debt.

Assuming Alastor cares about Mimzy, it would also explain the way he brushed her off. He wouldn't want her to come back to the hotel if he didn't want her involved.

It re-contextualizes the way Rosie treats Alastor. Playful barbs and teasing with names and terms that are confusing ("ace in the hole" - which Alastor is in every sense of the term) is something that good friends do... but is also exactly what Alastor does to Husk. The difference is, Alastor doesn't expect Husk to act gracious or happy about it.

About Alastor and Charlie in Cannibal Town: I always found it odd that Rosie jumped on the proposal so quickly. I chalked it up to doing business with someone familiar and the fact that there were only eight episodes, but honestly... what if the whole display was prearranged? I don't think Alastor's deal with Charlie was on Rosie's behalf. That favour could have been for him. But he could have also dug his own grave a little deeper by asking Rosie to join the fight against heaven ahead of time in order to curry Charlie's favour and bolster her power/confidence. This would put the debt on him, with a hope to clear it through Charlie, rather than having her directly indebted to Rosie. (Which she still might be, but let's have some intrigue.)

No little QPR nest I have made for myself has ever NOT been shat upon by canon, so why should this one be any different? Heaven forbid my anhedonic ass scrape up any sort of comfort from media.

I'm sure there were more points that my brain came up with while at work, but I am in front of an active document now, so of course they are gone.

Now we will address the "almost".

Sensibly, this turn of events could make practical sense. However, what gets to me is the

this causes.

I don't care how good a performer Alastor is, Season One has shown him to be absolutely livid and on the verge of a total breakdown over the fact that he's constrained by some sort of deal.

And yet...

The only times he's drawn with what looks like a genuine smile of joy or pleasure is when he's in Rosie's company. Like, it's been pointed out elsewhere that he's even drawn softer and fluffier when he's around her. And sure, maybe Rosie doesn't tolerate back-talk or whatnot, but there's a wild difference between "pleasant and polite" to avoid repercussions and whatever this is:

So anyway... if this is a turn of events that I get pissed off about, it will be because of the absolute tease of close friendship because this is not a situation in which such a thing can be maintained. I will then be left with only two options:

Ignore it and write whatever I want, as per the grand tradition of fandom.

Become cruel and write absolute horror.

Aegon and Helaena were overweight too (baby Helaena liked sweets my little baby and Aegon genuinely had a bigger appetite and to top it all off he was abed for a whole year drinking milk of the poppy every 3-4 business seconds) but I rarely see people joking about their bodies, I mean yes I've seen people write alarming stuff regarding Aegon after he was basically crippled irremediably but my argument stands, if you wanna hate on characters hate them for what they actually had control with.

You know what would be a terrific change of pace for season 6?

Not having a villain to defeat every single episode.

Lila is cunning. Lila doesn't need to rely on powers to pull strings.

She can definitely use the miraculous, of course, but in secret and only to boost the effectiveness of her lies. She akumatizes herself in different ways to try to bring down Marinette or to slander Ladybug, only it never works...

Because, in a strange twist, instead of Ladybug saving the day, Marinette does. Marinette works together with her friends to restore the reputations of people that Lila tries to destroy.

Maybe Lila spreads misinformation, maybe she creates fake videos, maybe she gives herself the power to spread rumours that people will believe, etc.

But also, maybe season 6 should be about Adrien and Marinette being heroes without using their masks as much?

Ok Deflagration is back, I’m a day late, but I literally do not care ok? I was having a rough day and put mental health first, and this show is not mental health for me

Anyways I’m keeping this review concise because this episode was actually pointless.

Like no joke, genuinely fucking pointless! It’s just as bad as the first half of Kwamis’ choice, where for some reason it’s alright to give up the miraculous for your love life (because being able to date is so much more important then the safety of the universe), the identity rule continues to pretend to matter (tho I will say the tracking on the alliance rings is smart) and no one has a personality outside of the love square, and everything in the end of the episode reset, to the point they make tongue in cheek jokes about it

…yep you can see why people are slowly giving up on this show (myself included)

I think if anything, my main complaints about this episode are these:

1. No one gives a shit about ladybug and chat noir quitting

This connects to how Alya and Tikki were always like “yeah marinette is right to quit so she can date adrien” but literally no one gives a shit! For something as huge as Ladybug and Chat Noir quitting after over a year of constant fighting, and giving the miraculouses to complete amateurs there is literally no reaction! Everyone is just fine with this change, make a quick tribute and even make tongue in cheek jokes about how they must have quit in order to date, which in general just shows how the show doesn’t actually care about the heroic part of the story? Like this is just the love square show, with ladybug worshiping sprinkled in.

(Also the way the only indication of the Kwamis and holders missing each other was Adrien, who was basically a background character this episode, being sad for unexplained reasons and Tikki saying she missed marinette)

But I digress next complaint

2. The way… this episode was just Chloe Slander/Zoe worship.

I…SWEAR TO GOD!!! Listen I don’t hate Zoe, she doesn’t do anything to make me hate her, and I do realize Chloe is not a good person, but the show shoves it in your face so much! Like every single moment this episode being like “omg Zoe is so kind and sweet and better then Chloe look how awful Chloe is hate her” when Zoe is (no offense Zoe) so bland, that her entire personality consists of being better then Chloe and being in love with marinette!

And as for the Chloe slander, I swear to god! The show goes out of its way to have this entire scene where Chloe tries to humiliate marinette (which is so tactless and dumb? Like it really felt like the show just needed to remind you that Chloe sucks you guys hate her guts please) and makes Plagg rant to Zoe about how awful and irredeemable Chloe is and how he should cataclysm her (like he speaks of Gabriel, the literal terrorist) and has Chloe willingly accept an Akuma (as if she didn’t fight the akumas a couple seasons back)!!!

So all of this together, we just have another Lila on our hands! The show is legitimately arguing that Chloe and Lila (stereotypical 14 year old bully characters) are as bad if not worse then the terrorist plaguing Paris and being an abusive father on the side, and justifies that by making them increasingly worse to the point where it’s just unrealistic and laughable!

Honestly the only two upsides for this episode is that at least we didn’t see Marinette whining over her crush on Adrien (which sprung back out of nowhere), and that Adrien got to show up his dad by taking the ladybug miraculous away from him (the resistance is nice, the names are weird but it’s nice)

All in all? Kwamis’ choice was Completely pointless, and everything is back to the status quo except LOVE SQUARE OooOoOoO

i feel like season 11 was clearly crafted just for the fans which is why it was so ooc:

the CONSTANT debbie slander (every. single. episode. it made me like some of my favs a bit less tbh).

the franny scenes (don’t give me wrong, she’s my girl, i LOVE her, but i feel like they used her for their anti-debbie propaganda and also she had such a big role compared to liam (1-7) which i LOVED because liam’s change annoyed me but also it was odd).

okay now that i'm done watching shameless i am going to share every single thought i have about it. first thing first, season 11 was terrific and sometimes painfully cringe to watch and made me want to throw something at the screen but ya. the season finaly sucked and i kinda hated the ending cus it was so vague and lame in a way? like the only thing i liked was that when frank died he got flashbacks of memories with his kids which made it feel more emotional and like we've been with them for a big part of their life (which we basically have watching them grow up) and i guess it also made me feel like he somewhat cared about his children? it gave a whole nostalgic feel to it. i also didn't like all the plot holes and open endning situation, like i want to know if carl and arthur bought the alibi, and how kev and v's lives changes after they moved and what everyone else do with their lifes. LIKE did lip and tami have another baby and did debbie and that crazy woman heidi who got introduced in the last two epidodes run away to texas? AND LIAM, actually so so mad bc they have done his character so dirty and he's been forgotten so many times. i did like the scene where he could feel franks prescence in the alibi right when he died, but like then what? he was going to live with lip and tami i think? ian and mickey are probably going to be fine in their new apartment but yea kinda meh. ALSO don't know if people noticed but in the first episode of season 1 frank introduced his kids in the same kind of way he said goodbye to them in the last episode of season 11. kinda liked that little detail. THERE AREE ALSO SO SO MANY CHARACTERS WHO HAVE JUST DISAPPEARED AND NEVER REALLY GOT AN EXPLANATION AS TO WHY, LIKE MANDY- what happened to her ? i miss my girl and i wanted her redemption arc after all that shit shes gone through😭

anywho, i still have no idea of who my favorite character is because it is constantly changeing, like i love-hate almost all of them yk? but some of them are definetely at the top, like kev and v for example AND LIP fucking love lip. AND SVETLANA I LOVE HER SM. i also miss sheila she was a girlboss </3 carl and ian are also in the top 5 for sure and i ABSOLUTELY LOVE liam and wish he could have gotten a better storyline sooner. debbie is a very hated character which is understandable to a certain point, but a lot of her bad behavior just like many of the other gallaghers come from their parents, which many people seem to forget when it comes to debbie? the way fiona treats debbie in the later seasons also play a big role in her change i think, but thats what kinda makes me angry when it comes to the debbie slander. people forgive fiona and say that her behavior is from needing to take the parental role at a very young age and from the abuse frank and monica put her through, which is true, but that last part is also the case for debbie ? and the other gallaghers as well. i just think its strange how people only seem to forget that when it is about debbie yk? then again she has made many horrible and bad desicions which makes her character unlikeable and i totally get and agree on that. one last thing i have been thinking about and can't really understand is why most of the gallagher siblings think that frank is a better parent than monica just because he's been more physically present? like that makes no sense, because most of their trauma comes from the alcoholic abusive dad who's never been there for them mentally or physically, but since monica left completely and frank "stayed" she is portrayed as this monster of a mother who left her kids. now i am not saying that she was a good mother, but she has not put the kids through close enough as much as frank has, and that is why i'm confused as to why they hate her more.

Tbh, this is me internally when someone insults one of my favorite characters. ESPECIALLY Phoebe Terese.

"She's too quiet!" So? You got a problem with introverts?

"She brings up her old school too often!" My good sir/ma'am/whatever, Phoebe is a transfer student. And she transferred from a normal class to a class with one of the most eccentric teachers in the world. Her "at my old school" catchphrase is just her way of making observations about the Friz's field trips.

"Where's her personality?" Right here: kind, empathetic, a bit sassy, a passionate nature lover, a young activist (looking at you, desert-themed MSB episode), nervous, has "weird little girl" energy.

*someone makes a fanfic or post where the other kids are jerks to Phoebe* Me: They would not fucking do that. Every single member of Ms. Frizzle's class is a card-carrying member of the Phoebe Protection Squad.

"She's annoying!" That argument has been overused so much that it holds no weight. Also: Phoebs is a kid. Being a kid automatically means being some degree of annoying.

Disclaimer: These are mostly things I've seen on websites besides Tumblr, but every time I see an anti-Phoebe take, I get somewhat angry. (I never resort to arguing with the perpetrators of those takes, so I just vent about it on a post like this.) Awww thank you for this sweet ask! 🥰 I know you’re not a Star Wars person soul, but I’ll be using these asks to help uplift Jedi that continuously get slandered in light of the anti-Jedi clownery going on in the fandom these days. So for this next ask, I’ll be choosing my lady, the luminous Master Luminara Unduli for this post, so thank you for giving me the freedom to brag about one of my favorite ladies 💚

2- A Canon or Headcanon Hill I Will Die On

That Luminara LOVES Barriss!!! I have made plenty of posts on this topic that disapproves all the nonsense the fandom continues to project, but I’ll say it again. In every single piece of Star Wars that has these two interacting, it is always a loving one and it’s a damn shame we didn’t see more of them in the Clone Wars series. The fact that these two can fight in complete sync with each other proves how in tune they are with each other and I seriously doubt you would be able to do that with someone you did not care about or hated. Also if you take the time to notice Luminara’s body language and voice whenever it comes to the topic of Barriss, you just know that’s a proud Mominara right there and when her girl is in danger, she hurts real bad. It’s also a crime we don’t see Luminara in the bullshit Wrong Jedi arc but I’m sure there would have been massive heartbreak. It event states in one of the canon Star Wars books that after Barriss is arrested for the Temple bombing that Luminara just buried herself in work. Again…you wouldn’t have such a strong reaction if you didn’t love somebody. Luminara loves Barriss and Barriss loves Luminara, end of discussion 💚💙

3- Obscure Headcanon

That Luminara is a thrill junkie and loves a good speeder bike and that she may or may not have a thing for Obi-Wan Kenobi. I mean her interactions with him are so flirty 🤣

4-Favorite Line

There’s a line of hers in the Legends book “The Approaching Storm” that has and continues to stick with me. I feel this quote really captures Luminara’s spirit and shows that underneath her cool exterior that she’s very genuine and grounded.

“Always remember where you’ve hung up your courage Barriss.”

Luminara is saying this to Barriss after her Padawan expresses to her that she feels that her Master never gets scared whenever there’s danger to which Luminara immediately disagrees. She tells Barriss that of course she gets scared when they’re in life threatening situations but as Jedi she has to appear fearless for the sake of the lives she’s protecting. Luminara is teaching Barriss that it’s okay to have these feelings and address said feelings later but when people need her, she needs to be brave and being brave doesn’t mean you have no fear or feelings. Luminara is often seen as “cold” but this along with many of things she says and does that she is very down to earth and has a big heart. She understands and she cares.

5- Best Personality Trait

Her ability to self-reflect which is a trait that is RARE in people. Luminara isn’t perfect as no one is but she’s able to take a step back and take ownership over her mistakes and make amends if need be. The perfect example of this is in the Clone Wars episode “Cloak of Darkness” where Luminara apologizes to Ahsoka for thinking she can take Ventress on her own and dismissing Ahsoka’s offer for help. Not only does Luminara apologize but she offers high praise to Ahsoka which again is not something a lot of people can do. Most people would rather sulk and be bitter and never take ownership for their mistakes, but not Luminara and I absolutely adore her for that 💚

10-Best Moment On Screen (Or In A Book)

By far, Luminara’s sand dance as described in the Legends book “The Approaching Storm”. An indigenous tribe asks Luminara, Barriss, Obi-Wan, and Anakin to entertain them with a talent of theirs; Luminara chose to levitate herself in a sphere of sand (using the Force) and perform a dance. It sounds absolutely beautiful and I’d kill to see this on screen.

17- Quotes, Songs, Poems I Associate Them With

Everytime I listen the tracks “Master Luminara” and “Twin Moons” by Kevin Kiner because they’re such gorgeous and serene tracks that to me is just her. It’s who she is; she’s serene despite the chaos around her and she rises above the tragedy and heartache she faces later in life which is beautiful. As for quotes and poems, I sadly think of her whenever it’s a quote revolving around grief and sad poems because again, she has such a tragic life despite doing her very best.

23- If They Were A Scented Candle, What Would They Smell Like?

Luminara to be is the picture of serenity and calm so I feel that her candle would be a scent that would be equally calming like lavender, mint, sandalwood, etc. Just something that puts you in your calm, happy place after a very rough day.

27- Their Guilty Pleasure

With all the stress she’s under, I feel like Luminara would either be a caffeine junkie, a wine lover, a gambler, a pot head on occasion or a racer. Just anything to take the edge off 🤣

So uh this is prob gonna come off as rude. but like, I understand that Marinette has done a lot (and I mean a lot) of questionable things. But like, she’s well-meaning and always apologizes in the end once she realizes the flaw in her actions and the ppl who it has hurt??? Yes, she shouldn’t have done a lot of things that she did, but 1) when she attempted to break in to Adrien’s house (again not at all okay, but maybe if the firefighter had done his job and told her off, it wouldn’t have happened at all) she was genuinely concerned about Adrien’s safety because she didn’t know how far Lila would go yet. And when she sent the video confessing on the same day Adrien’s mother died, she acknowledged this was an awful idea (“today is the worst day to do it, Tikki!”) but Tikki had convinced her otherwise. So again, not intentionally hurtful.

I just think that if you’re gonna give Marinette a lot of flack for the mistakes she made and learned from and made up for, you could at least acknowledge the stuff Adrien has done, didn’t learn from, and didn’t make up for (sexual harassment (and assault), enabling, etc, etc.)

You’ll probably ignore this but I just wanted to throw that out there.

Honestly if you want to see blogs where Adrien's shortcomings are acknowledged than you should just search the Adrien salt tag. I do think most of the blogs are dogshit because they flanderize the worst parts of Adrien to the extreme in an obsessed desire to circle jerk about why they hate him so much, but they do feature that kind of stuff if you feel like that its a problem you have with Adrien. I could try to compromise and include this stuff, but I don't want to, mainly because that would compromise on the prompts I make focusing on Marinette.

On that note, I want to go on record and say that I made this blog because aside from my personal hatred of this character, I did as a "fuck you" to all the adrien salt blogs where there are millions of posts about how he's a sexual stalker (even though I think its complete dogshit and those blogs only came about because of Adrien's high road comment from oblivio because "OH HE DIDNT IMMEDIATELY SIDE WITH MARINETTE SO HES BAD") but never a single post about why Marinette is also a shite character.

I made this blog specifically for that reason. To make posts about Marinette and her bullshit in the same salty format people do for Adrien, though admittedly even I failed to make the characters as OOC as other salters have done. So pardon me if I didnt want to make posts about Adrien, there are enough of those already.

And to counter you post saying that Marinette is "well meaning", let me say this:

Marinette has been a creepy stalker type character since her first episode. She had a planner tracking Adrien's every move (which was then hastily retconned 4 seasons later when it was pointed out as being a planner for all her friends) and has made multiple plans to try and seduce (or woo) him without so much care for his actual input in the matter, yet cant for the life of day simply ask him out. On that note, she would often go out of her way to prevent other girls from being with him, and even though some were rat bastards like Lila, it sure as hell wasn't care for her friend that inspired her to slander Lila in front of Adrien as Ladybug, causing her to cry and run away in Volpina. It got to a point where Marinette's desire to try and romance Adrien actively fucked over other characters, such as Juleka in Reflekdoll and the boys party in Party Crasher. She didn't HAVE to break into his house in Oni-Chan as she could have called him (or ask Nino if she could call Adrien) and warned him about Lila, but no she did it her way because fuck the rules when Marinette wants Adrien.

No I do not care season 5 is out, they are only stopping it so we can have some fake reverse love square drama bullshit that will be undone by the end of the season I SWEAR ON IT.

Even putting that aside, Marinette is also just a shite hero. Aside from some moral obligation to be a hero and being smart, there's nothing about her that remotely heroic, and most times fucks things up whenever the villains even get a single brain cell since most normal akumas are morons. She relies on others to help her win fights yet can be fucked to try and trust others and make the team work beyond demanding people to be her meatshields, to the point where even her partner that she worked with for 3+ years was getting fed up with it. Yet the second she messed up and cant rely on someone to save her sorry ass from a mess up, all she can do is cry like a bitch as some villain makes off with the entire miracle box. 3 years of hero experience and she ends up crying like a bitch.

But it doesnt matter anyway because everyone loves Marinette so much that they easily forgive her alter ego despite her MAJOR FUCK UP. Everyone in the show is obsessed with Marinette and Ladybug, to the point where they are even obsessed with her getting together with the supposed boy of her dreams, EVEN HER FUCKING EX WHO SHE BASICALLY GHOSTED FOR HALF THEIR RELATIONSHIP. As Ladybug its even worse as everyone is so happy and trusting to her (minus the villains) despite the fact she failed for 3 years to catch the one dude making all the butterflies, not because she was bad, but because she didnt try tracking him down, only confronting him when the villain himself stuck out his neck and got greedy.

I could talk about other stuff I dislike about her, but im just gonna sum it up and say that she's a Mary Sue in a world where there's no main protagonist to replace. If any other character was the main hero, she would be that character in a SI fanfic that ends up overtaking the main hero with her bullshit powers. THERE I SAID IT

On that note, im not changing my mind about how I feel about Marinette despite how much EVERYONE ELSE in the fandom wants to coddle her, and if you wanted Adrien salt in a MARINETTE SALT BLOG you should just look somewhere else. Also I didn't ignore your post so there's that I suppose.
