A redrew I did from Shokugeki no Soma OC Week but also my last members of Soaring Land Dormitory !!

Day 3 - Friends / Noodles / Crossover

I picked this theme for them because I thought it would be fitting for them! They are close friends, trust me. They see each other as equal and they actually help each other a lot! Have my 92nd generation for this prompt!

Day 6: Shokugeki / Central / Ice

I had to draw Team Central from my ocs!! These 3 chose to pick the side of Central because they were convinced that it was the better side. Plus, why would they rebel against them? Also there’s a lot of angst for them in this arc so it’s really fun for the dorm.

Also the other three pictures shows some of the shokugeki battles of this arc between my ocs!! Everlyn, Kaoru and Masae are all part of team rebels!! To explain the mechanics of how this went, it’s like an elimination match!! If you lose, you’re eliminated and you have to have a shokugeki with the next person!!

I really had fun with this?? Especially the expressions?? [I mean the last picture especially jkgbdfg] I hope you like it!!

Fun Fact 101: Everlyn Shea

One of my first ever Shokugeki ocs, and also the “Wonderland’s Guide”! <3 

Back when I made Everlyn, I thought of a lot of different things and I have done my research about topics which aren’t even connected and it ended up great. Her origin is all over the place, but this was what made her unique. She was actually based on British Culture, "Evil Eye”, British Superstitions and Religion

As we all know Everlyn- she is someone who’s usually misinterpreted by the people around her. The ideas I got from the culture of Britain is mostly about their communication and interaction with other people. 

First of- can we point out that Everlyn seems like someone who wouldn’t want to interact with others? Or even talk to anyone in general? But this is really incorrect. She does want to talk, but she’s much too anxious to do and she’s actually afraid of the people around her. One thing I based it on?

Although the British may appear on the surface to be reserved and perhaps even aloof, they are in fact friendly people and welcoming to foreign visitors.

She comes out as this person, and this is very accurate for Everlyn. She may seem aloof but she actually wants to gain more friends but because people get threatened by her appearance or find it disturbing, they don’t even try to bond with her.

There is also one other thing to take note about Everlyn, and it is that she tends to avoid eye contact a lot. This was mostly seen when people insulted her- she isn’t looking at them because she can’t but because she feels like she will actually end up being more threatened because from what I’ve read-

British people often avoid extended eye contact. They find it uncomfortable and intimidating.

This seems to be the case. I also wanted to add this about Everlyn because I do think that it might have been a concept that could have worked on her perfectly since I have designed her before i actually ended up researching about British Culture [I started with their superstitions and the concept of “Evil Eye” and I designed her from there then went to British Culture!]

Also I might have not written her all too much yet, but she does usually speak like this when she’s not around her fellow dorm mates

Most British are masters of understatement and do not use effusive language. If anything, they have a marked tendency to use ‘qualifiers’ such as 'perhaps', ‘possibly’ or 'it could be'.

She shows some understatement or even some hints of her being unsure. She usually uses this in her dialogue when she’s not yet fully comfortable with the person yet, but this is pretty rare because there are only a few people who talk to her currently.

My favorite thing I based her on culture would probably be the fact that she’s basically all the taboos in their culture!

Taboos

Do not rest your elbows on the table.

Do not stare.

Do not be overly familiar with people you do not know well.

Do not ask personal questions such as how much someone earns, who they voted for etc.

Do not speak too loudly or cut into a conversation.

She does none of these. The first one is pretty common, but yes- she does not like staring at people for too long. Unless she considers you as someone who’s close to her. She also never acts close to someone, and this is no surprise as we have already brought up the previous things about her culture and how her origin came from it. She also does not enjoy personal questions. At all. At all cost, she tries to avoid them and she tries her best not to ask about it. Also as we know Everlyn now, she certainly does not speak loudly- even Hang speaks louder than her. Her voice is rather soft spoken, and she’d rather stay quiet than to talk. 

Now, we have the concept of “Evil Eye” aka the main thing that started the design of Everlyn. I thought it would have been a nice touch to a design, if I were to be honest- so I did it. Before we go to all those superstitions and stuff like that, I’d have to tell you- Everlyn believes in a lot of those things. And maybe this is the reason why she sealed herself up and is one of the most conservative ocs I have, and that includes her face. Well, she believes she could be protected by it, so why not?

Okay back to the evil eye, in case that you don’t know it- it’s this.

The evil eye is a human look believed to cause harm to someone or something. The supernatural harm may come in the form of a minor misfortune, or more serious disease, injury — even death.

You might be thinking that she’s afraid to gain this harm- and yes you’re right. But it’s also because she doesn’t want to cause it. She believes that this superstition cannot happen unless if someone uses both of their eyes, and she has this extreme fear of bad luck- and that’s also one reason why she hates and dreads the day Friday the 13th so much.

The reason why she covers her eye in the design is because she believes this superstition is true. So it is mainly to protect herself and not cause harm to others. This is the superstition I made her fear most because I wanted to have a new kind of oc who believes in luck a lot, both good and bad- and ta-da! Everlyn happened. 

Now, let’s go back to Britain- but this time its superstitions. There are a lot of superstitions that they have in common with several countries, and I don’t think I have to mention all of it. So have a list!

Lucky to meet a black cat. Black Cats are featured on many good luck greetings cards and birthday cards in England.

Lucky to touch wood. We touch; knock on wood, to make something come true.

Lucky to find a clover plant with four leaves.

White heather is lucky.

A horseshoe over the door brings good luck. But the horseshoe needs to be the right way up. The luck runs out of the horseshoe if it is upside down.

Horseshoes are generally a sign of good luck and feature on many good luck cards.

On the first day of the month it is lucky to say "white rabbits, white rabbits white rabbits," before uttering your first word of the day.

Catch falling leaves in Autumn and you will have good luck. Every leaf means a lucky month next year.

Cut your hair when the moon is waxing and you will have good luck.

Putting money in the pocket of new clothes brings good luck. Unlucky to walk underneath a ladder. 

Seven years bad luck to break a mirror. The superstition is supposed to have originated in ancient times, when mirrors were considered to be tools of the gods.

Unlucky to see one magpie, lucky to see two, etc..

Unlucky to spill salt. If you do, you must throw it over your shoulder to counteract the bad luck.

Unlucky to open an umbrella in doors.

The number thirteen is unlucky. Friday the thirteenth is a very unlucky day. Friday is considered to be an unlucky day because Jesus was crucified on a Friday.

Unlucky to put new shoes on the table.

Unlucky to pass someone on the stairs.

[See there’s so much to do with luck] But all I can say is- it usually focuses on good luck and bad luck. Yes, she collects 4 leaf clovers and horseshoes. The most unique thing I heard about good luck from them is- black cats are actually considered lucky. From this, I took the concept and I actually wanted her to wear black most of the time but this is a small thing I wanted to mention.

Last but not least, religion. As people know, some superstitions can be countere by religions, that’s why there are cross marks on the bandages covering her face in her design! And also it also symbolizes something that is going on with the religion of Britain.

Britain is, however, becoming less and less of a Christian country with the numbers of people who consistently attend church service on Sunday diminishing with time.

Why else would I make a cross on bandages- a normal material that could be found in hospitals?

Well this is the origin of Everlyn and where her concept came from! I hope you liked it!

“Every time they cook together, I get to realize why their pair title is “Wonderland’s Festival”... They really are an unexpected pair.”

I wanted to draw these two and use the concept of their titles!! 

Everlyn Shea has the title of that becauser they say that her cooking isn’t something you could taste everyday and that each dish she makes is filled with wonderful yet mysterious things!! She actually really liks the title and she’s surprised she got something like it!!

Shizuya Olmo is also known as “Merrymaker” and it’s because the taste of the food he makes makes a person feel some happiness, and that’s what he places in his cooking!! His enthusiastic energy also seems pretty festive when he cooks, and he enjoys that title a lot!!

I’ll probably do more of this, it was much too fun gkjdfbg

Day 3: Generation / Autumn Elections / Storms

I chose to draw my ocs inside the Jewel Generation!! So this means that they all belong to the 92nd generation!!

I’ll add some bonus information about Autumn Elections!

The first two were in Block A, and the last two were in Block B!! Even if they weren’t able to get into the top 8 for their assigned blocks, they still had it pretty good! Eventually, this part was the time where they were able to warm up to some other characters!! 

Also, the one with the highest score would be 82, and that would be Everlyn!! Everyone inside their dorm was proud of her and tried to cheer her up because she cried over how she could have done better!!

Mi and Tatsuya, Kuga x Masse, Dai, Kaoru and Hanako, Lina and Emily, Everlyn, Yuliya, Michiko ovo (I'm a christmas fanatic)

Mi and Tatsuya

-Mi and Tatsuya are usually assigned in designing the Christmas Trees!

-Tatsuya buys the Christmas decors, and he doesn’t usually help in placing the designs.

-Not until Mi asks to carry her so she can place the designs on other places. He’s very irritated.

-This is the only time of the year where Tatsuya shows several emotions, and it’s all caused by one person

-After the whole designing thing, he decides to rest while Mi places some Christmas decors on his hair.

Kuga and Masae

-Kuga and Masae have a tradition on going to Winter Illumination every winter time! Masae really loves these places!

-She often offers a scarf or her hat to him because he easily gets cold, and she easily gets worried.

-In Christmas, they actually try and make some gingerbread cookies for everyone else.

-Kuga tends to spoil her a lot in Christmas since she stated that this is her favorite time of the year.

-Masae runs from every mistletoe, especially when Kuga is around because she doesn’t want anyone to see them kiss.

Dai

-Why Christmas is so Chaotic? It isn’t Santa or the Grinch. It’s Dai. Dai Adachi. It’s all his fault.

-Places mistletoes EVERYWHERE. In the dorm or in the school. He’s granting his own Christmas Wish.

-Every 11:11 in December, he wishes Nene & Eizan, Rentaro & Mea, Kaoru & Hanako or Masae & Kuga fo under a mistletoe.

-It’s… nearly impossible to not see one… but… 

-Dai please stop being your own Santa, you’ll kill all your friends by making them flustered.

Kaoru and Hanako(Hanako belongs to @polar-stars​!)

-Kaoru also loves Christmas! Since he doesn’t have any close relatives but Dao [who’s always busy], he tends to spend time with friends much more!

-Probably asks Hanako to go to him with the mall or something even if he’s wearing a Santa Costume

-Hanako, depending on how busy she may be- can agree or not agree to his offer. He’s going to ask again next week.

-The real reason why he wants to be with her is because he wants to observe and see what possible Christmas gifts she may want.

-He’s gonna buy it no matter how much it costs, he just wants her to be happy this Christmas.

Emily and Lina (Emily belongs to @polar-stars​!)

-Lina and Emily bake together every Christmas!! Lina always asks Emily if she would want to make sweets with her!!

-They probably go around school to sell some of their sweets/give their sweets to their friends!!

-They probably play snowball fights!! However, they should wear much warmer clothes if they do!!

-Emily probably makes some for Lina without Lina knowing and Lina would cry out of happiness.

-Lina, on the other hand, gives her several baking materials for Christmas and pushes her to go under the mistletoe with Mitsuru!

Evelryn Shea

-She doesn’t know how Christmas works besides giving gifts and mistletoes… She didn’t really celebrate Christmas too much??

-She likes hot chocolate and warm cuddles though! She’s easily cold and she’s much more clingy when it’s cold.

-Would make food for her friends, she doesn’t know what material objects they’d really enjoy, so she cooks their favorite food!

-She and Shizuya make snowmen together and they make an army of them in front of the dorm.

-She gets scared when all the snowmen suddenly have “DON’T SUPPORT MARYU?? DON’T INTERACT” signs near them.

-She cries and runs back inside the dorm, thinking they’re alive. Shizuya is seen holding a bunch of signs and telling her not to worry.

-Gets FRIGHTENED when she sees Shizuya holding the sign… thinks a snowman possessed him. Takes Shizuya 10 minutes to explain.

-She is okay now, she’s happy. She’s not worried anymore. They end up making the snowmen have snow forts too.

-Actually tries knitting a scarf for the people in the 92nd generation that she considers as a friend!

-So besides her cooking, they get a scarf too!! The Soaring Land Dormitory Students get some too!! And also gloves!

Yuliya Moroz

-She’s always been so busy for Christmas that she never really spent it with her family. So when she’s in the dorm… it’s her first time! Shizuya knows about this, but he pretended not to know. He’s always been her “Secret Santa”, after all.

-Tells the whole dorm about this and they turn into emotional tears and cling to her, saying the big sister better have the greatest Christmas month of her life.

-She didn’t know it would turn to “dress up tradition”, “mistletoe hallway” and “snowball war” month. She enjoys the exchange gift, though! That’s the best part!

-Ice Skates a lot! She’s really good at it, and she gets flustered when people point out that she’s great at it. She hides in her scarf when people compliment her about this!!

-The one who makes the hot chocolate, sighs but smiles every time she sees the whole dorm being how they are. It warms her heart.

-Helps in setting up the Christmas light, she’s someone who’d do anything to help her dorm mates.

-She actually still believes Santa is real despite how mature she acts around other people since she acts like the oldest most of the time.

-The whole dorm panics when they know this fact. Who the hell will dress up as Santa to make her still believe in him?

-The good kid who believes “If I don’t sleep, Santa will not come.” so they’re able to hide the truth behind Santa.

-Usually makes everyone make a wishlist and place it in a sock that will hang near their doors so she could get them what they want.

Michiko Marui

-She’s one of the people who’s the most excited for Christmas from the next generation! Christmas with her family has always been great!

-She’s the one to plan out everything. She always takes actions first. Wishlist? Check! Cookies and Milk? Ready! Exchange Gifts? Soon! She’s the calendar for Christmas.

-Probably the one who doesn’t want to go Christmas Shopping because the place is too crowded and she’ll rather study so she can give good grades to her parents as a present.

-Gets to go Christmas Shopping anyway because Sachi asked her to come, and she… can’t reject Sachi. She’s too close to her to reject her.

-They go gift shopping, and Michiko really enjoyed it!! She might have wanted to study, but being with her best friend is always the best!!

-Overthinks about what if something goes wrong so she usually reminds everyone else about the important dates.

-Also places the Christmas countdown on the front door so everyone will remember that they should be ready!!

-The type to not know what she wants for Christmas, but in reality- she just wants some books or more deer stuffed toys.

-Gets extremely pouty when Toshio tells her to wear something more Christmas like, but the schedule is too busy! and she likes her very cozy and warm clothes, thank you very much.

-Ends up wearing a Reindeer headband because of Hiro handing everyone something, and she takes a selfie with her and her favorite stuffed reindeer when no one was looking.

Rui Kofuru, Erina Nakiri, Zenji Marui, Isami Aldini

Thank you so much, I really enjoyed this!! 

The one under the cut is pretty long but these will include some explanations and headcanons [mostly Rui since we have yet to see more of her]!

Christelle would be close to Rui because Kaoru is friends with Mea, and Dai is actually a friend of Rentaro! She and Rui became friends, and I headcanon that Rui actually is a really good listener! So when Christelle needs to vent, she’s usually the one she goes to/ Bonus headcanon: No reason, I think Rui likes gothic lolita fashion and Christelle likes dresses so!!

Henrique holds a big responsibility, and if there was someone in the dorm who won’t ever hesitate to talk to someone who’s considered “strong”, it would be among these three: Henrique, Kaoru and Dai. Henrique actually respected Erina greatly, and they do have some little talks. Once the Central arc ends, they get closer! And being real, he immediately adopts Erina

Mi, surprisingly, loves reading books! No matter what genre! When she knew about Marui, they began talking about different books and at one point he allowed her to borrow some of his books. Now, every time she stops by the Polar Star Dormitory, she immediately goes to him to talk or give him some new books which she thinks will interest him! She just adds up to his library.

Everlyn and Isami do end up as close friends at the end! Some people lowkey judge Everlyn and wonder why she wears things on her face, but Isami actually never questioned it. She also likes huggable people so there’s that. When they see each other, they usually have a conversation which makes them both engaged! He talks to her about Italian Cuisine, while she talks about British Cuisine!

How does a typical morning in the dorm look like?

“Yeah. They’re a bunch of kids. It’s usually chaotic. I’m surprised we aren’t kicked out yet.”

Usually in the morning, it’s a mess! Henrique has to deal with all of this in the morning since he’s the oldest. Lina is being a Koala, while Mi and Tatsuya are being rivals again. Who knows what the hell Sung did? Yuliya is the one who reports problems to Henrique! 

Shizuya sleeps way too much, sometimes he thinks it isn’t enough even if he used his time making bookmarks or anything to do with t-shirt printing. Everlyn doesn’t place her accessories yet because she has to deal with her sleepy head of a cooking partner.

The 93rd generation are pretty pure! They sometimes end up sleeping in the same room just watching movies or musicals! They have their bonding time because of it. Sometimes, songs get stuck in their head. They end up walking inside the dining table holding hands while singing even if Lyron looks like he doesn’t enjoy it.

The 91st generation have this tiny arguments, but it’s usually just pulling Kaoru back! Dai is usually grumpy in the mornings, so Kaoru loves joking him a lot. They’re all in good terms though! In fact, they hang out in the morning and go to school while they talk to each other!!

What are everyone's future careers maybe? :0 Since I don't think I ever heard it in completion. Also for faves, going by generation: Lina, Hang, Yuliya and ahdhd honestly picking a fave from the 91st Gen is sorta hard because they're all iconic in their own right to me but idk, Dai makes me laugh so much so I guess Ill pick him.

Oooooo future careers!! A lot of them actually have joint restaurants because that’s how close they got together hfhgfgh but I’ll show the list!!

Also !! I’m glad you have faves for each gen !! Honestly hdfghdfg Dai is way too fun so fair

Henrique and Lina

Henrique actually took a business major once he graduated from Totsuki! Lina on the other hand started up her restaurant already in Japan! They had a long distance relationship for a while before Henrique came back and built... a restaurant literally besides Lina’s. They’re sort of teaming up in a sense because meals for his restaurant, and the sweets from hers!

Mi and Tatsuya

They made a restaurant together! However, their rivalry is still on in the kitchen. They always have a competition ongoing, whether it be the most served food or who can make a new menu better. Sometimes even the people in the restaurant can hear the banter and it... doesn’t upset them They’re interested on what they are talking about. [They acted married for some years before actually getting married]

Christelle Morin

She successfully built her own restaurant when she went back to France! She has a total of three restaurants. Two in France and one in Japan [in the request of Dai]. She actually also took college in an elite cooking school in France! [She went to Totsuki because in the France school, they were only offering it in college, not high school]. 

Dai Adachi

After he graduated from high school, he actually majored in education! Once he finished college, he decided to apply to be a teacher of Totsuki and he was accepted! He was one of the best people in his generation, and he was praised for his jump in skill once he came back. [He also wanted to see the children of his ships, but that’s just a bonus].

Kaoru Atitarn

He got to open the restaurant of his mother again, but after hearing the story of what happened to his family by Dao, he also opened his father’s restaurant as well. He’s currently managing and cooking for two restaurants, but they open alternately [so he does travel a lot]. He decided to go straight to cooking after he graduated from Totsuki instead of college.

Masae Milas

Before successfully getting the diner of her family because she still has to beat her father in a cook off, she spent some months in Greece itself so she can learn more about her specialty. However, she came back to Japan to learn more things about it too. After about 3 years after graduation [and studying about food in those 3 years], she became the lead chef of her family diner.

Everlyn Shea

She is the one who has the most branches for her restaurant. She has 5 restaurants in total. Three in Britain, and the two others in America. She’s one of the more busy ones and she’s keeping up with her family’s reputation of chefs! She decided to minor in Psychology and Business, but major in Culinary Arts.

Sung Yong-Chol

Despite what his family claims [and being a big disappointment to them], he still decided to become a chef. However, he also did follow what his family wanted. He doesn’t actually prioritize his restaurant, but he focuses on his acting career more. However, he does open his restaurant every Weekends! He has a famous restaurant in Korea which people can get in only through reservation.

Shizuya and Yuliya

Unsurprisingly, they have a joint restaurant together! They are also one of the first people in their generation to get married! They have a family restaurant in Ukraine and Shizuya is the lead chef and Yuliya is the sous chef but also the business head. Shizuya took a major in culinary arts and Yuliya took a major in business management!

The Whole 93rd Generation of this Dorm

They actually have a joint restaurant. No joke. These 4 are extremely close to each other and they didn’t mind the idea that Miray brought in! They’re their own family now. Ethan was the one who hesitated the most but he agreed at the end thinking his younger brother really deserved to be the chef of the family restaurant instead and he realized how... he wanted This more than the family restaurant. The other’s didn’t even hesitate in agreeing to this! 

Hang and Ethan took a culinary major! Meanwhile Miray took a Business Major and Lyron took a Chemistry Major!

“Oh my! I can’t believe I haven’t introduced myself to the Sir God Tongue over here!”

I FINALLY DREW THE CHILD OF EVERLYN AND SUNG!! Yes, this is her! <3 <3 Haruna Shea!! She’s part of the Soaring Land Dormitory and she’s actually the cooking partner of Koichi!! So let’s know more about this girl!!

She’s the oldest from two siblings and she’s the one expected to continue the restaurant of Everlyn! She specializes in British Cuisine but she does know about Korean Cuisine! She’s normally not... around the group but that’s because she’s usually too busy trying to perfect her recipes! But even if it’s not obvious, she tends to work REALLY hard and not a lot of people see her as such.

Normally, she’d happily socialize with literally anyone inside school and one of the people who went “!!! Interesting boy !!!” when Toshio introduced himself [a lot of people thought he was cocky, hated him... then there was her]. She’s also someone who doesn’t like judging people completely by one incident, and she actually loves hearing people’s first impressions on her.

She’s a lot like her father when it comes to things outside cooking such is her being a risk taker when it comes to some outside activities but she has a lot of confidence issues just like her mother, but this only comes up when it’s time for her to cook. She finds it really hard to relax when she’s cooking because she’s deeply afraid of failure and Koichi is usually the one who brings her back to her senses [he like flicks her forehead a lot and says it in a rude way like “Quit slowing me down by making me worry, Jesus.” but he means well and she knows that]

She actually doesn’t like facing other people by herself. She hides her anxiety by her smile and through talking and it works really well but once the day is over, she immediately looks bummed out and she like locks herself up in her room. She gets better the next day though!! She just doesn’t like getting disturbed when she’s not in the mood.

Surprisingly, one of the people who look up to her is Chiharu!!!! This is because she was one of the people who visited Polar Star Dormitory frequently back in middle school and Chiharu got to know more of her nervous side and vice versa- and even if Haruna is nervous, she’s still extremely good??? Plus, Haruna like compliments her cooking style all the time, but also tells her how to improve!! So they get along very well [she threats Naoki if he hurts her, she’s going to choke him with her ribbons and Naoki always goes “I WON’T HURT HER????”]
