Flowering into the autumn Solanum laxum 'Album' (white potato vine) is a fast-growing, semi-evergreen climber with twining stems. It will grow outdoors in a moist but well-drained soil in full sun or under glass in bright indirect light.

We had a green Christmas! Which is pretty typical in the lowlands west of the Cascades. I don't do winter well, so the perennial greenery is a nice boost to my mood through these short, cold days.

In the Cruickshank Botanic Garden, Aberdeen, Scotland, is the graceful tree Juniperus recurva (Himalayan juniper, drooping juniper). This has distinct drooping branches with waterfall of foliage. Beneath this coniferous tree the earthstar fungi, Geastrum species, were appearing.
