More finished up EFNW doodles!!  For those of you who don't know, this year at the vendor hall they had Twilight's Book Nook, which was a very wonderful collection of published fanfics. I bought three of them myself!! While I was doodling I thought the idea of Twilight reacting to learning just what books were in her book nook was hilarious. Soooo here we are!! Also first time drawing Spike like... ever iirc??? From memory too.

do you have any good fluttercord fic recs?

OH BOY DO I. In no particular order (except of when I thought of them):

1: Non-Entity by Captain Wuzz: An AU in which, instead of being turned to stone, Discord was shot in the head with a magic arrow that takes away his sentience and magic for a 1,000 years. Fluttershy mistakes him for a wounded animal and brings him home. I loved it so much.

2: Chaotic Neutral by C-Puff: The magic is starting to fade from Equestria, and the Main 6 and Discord go on an adventure to find out why, and reverse it. A bit of AU, in the sense it was written before the show was done, so it diverts in some places because of that. Super sweet, and I love the character development here.

3: Time is Taller than Space is Wide by Dott. Can also be read on Ao3 if you prefer. Soulmate AU (?) fic with a Groundhog Day style twist. I rarely see fics play with the idea of what if Fluttershy and Discord's friendship had started when they first met, so this is fun.

4 & 5: Blank and it's sequel Reconnection by @geekcat. Can also be read on fanfic.net. AU in which, before Discord can choose friendship over ruling Equestria, Twilight remembers a "reformation" spell. He is stripped of his free will, and Fluttershy does her best to bring him back. If you don't like the idea of Twilight being a villain, you might not like this one, but I think her villain arc in this is done in a perfect way for her character. It's super heart wrenching in many places, but in a good way.

6: Our Fair Lady of the Chaos Lord, also by GeekCat Can also be read on fanfic.net. Fairy tale inspired AU in which Fluttershy is a princess who's father is pressuring her to marry noble knight Sir Big Mac. Wanting to be sure he's a good person, she makes a deal with the Chaos Lord, letting herself be "kidnapped" so she can test his character. You can guess who she falls for instead. Honestly I've enjoyed all of GeekCat's fics, so they're getting an extra mention. Check out the rest of their fluttercord fics if you like any of these.

7: The Draconequus with the Dragon Tattoo by A M Shark This is a major case of, strange premise, kick ass results. Basically an AU based off Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Steig Larsson, with Discord as Lisbeth, and Fluttershy as an amalgamation of Mikael and several other characters, but focusing more on the murder mystery aspect of that book, and less on the...everything else. If you're familiar with GwtDT, don't worry, there's no rape scenes. Again, it's more about the murder mystery part. If you're not familiar with GwtDT, then don't worry again, because you don't need to know the original to enjoy it. It's just Discord and Fluttershy playing detective and solving a murder together. It has two sequels, but I haven't read them yet, and it didn't feel right to rec something I haven't read.

8: The Corpse Bride by Bad Horse. Dark fic. No relation to the Burton movie. Fluttershy dies in a tragic accident, and Discord brings her back from the dead as his zombie wife. Her friends (sans Pinkie) are horrified. Has a fantastic twist ending. If you like some of the darker stuff, def worth a read.

Bonus: Comic rec: The Last Adventure by Eveeka. Taking place after the final defeat of Tirek, Cozy, and Chrysalis, Discord gets into a depressive funk after shouldering the hatred from Ponyville citizens for his latest actions, but also because his friends seem to never be available anymore. He starts to think maybe Equestria would be better off without him, as he can't seem to exist with out making everyone miserable, and decides to hide away in the Everfree forest. Fluttershy, worried when he doesn't show up for tea, asks her friends for help, only to discover there's a monster running lose there he and the rest of Equestria might be in danger from. This fic has two endings, so keep reading even when it seems like it's over. You've got one more ending left. This one nearly made me cry.

so firstly! i know theres a couple people coming from off tumblr sites to check this out (( hi jay!!! )) so ill explain somethin real quick!

All of my comics have hand written text! now sometimes these can be hard to read, and so if you press this button ( image below ) and ive wrote out all the text in there for your convenience! make sure as well to read the body of the post and also the tags! usually i have some post upload thoughts or feelings i talk about there - some add context and some are fun!

normally i would recommend going through my archive and searching for "mlp infection au" or "cutie pox chronicles" but you wont have to do that here - but for nontumblr users if you want to check out other blogs i recommend that method.

now before reading there is a massive trigger warning: on all posts with these topics everything is tagged as "tw (topic)" and so i would recommend blocklisting ones that make you uncomfortable or understand what youre going into! triggering contents include: blood, gore, body horror, eye horror and eye trauma, child death, dismemberment, and cannibalism.

CLOSING THOUGHTS:

i really never thought this comic would get me as far as it did, seince i started posting i went from having 100 followers to about 210, thats more than double! thats insane. i wont lie i am SOOOO ANXIOUS to have such a following!!!!! usually my posts prior wouldnt get more than 5 notes but now!! almost all of them ( at least of this comic ) have over 30 on every one!!! thats just, so crazy. i hope everyone continues to look forward as i begin preparation on chapter 2, and what else i have to offer on here - i have a whole lot more story to tell and im excited to!

after everfree northwest my next zine is going to be Susan Taxpayer focused i think. i wanna make it like a combination of the Pop Team Epic compilation books and those newspaper comic strip compilation books

Discord And Fluttershy!

They're going to become one of the main couples of the AU, and generally the main focus..

This is Discord, he takes Fluttershy's place in the main 6, he's technically the element of kindness, but focuses more on chaotic magic (and he's having a hard time keeping to his element). He can't particularly speak to animals either, sure his chaos magic may help, but he kinda has to guesswork it.

Like Discord, Fluttershy is a draconequus; she looks a bit different and she has a lot of inspiration that I drew from (comics, forms, etc). She resides in the everfree forest away from the ponies; as in this universe, she hasn't been turned into stone or any other imprisonment. She is plotting something, but she's good natured at heart (and has a HUGE cave).

My Little Pony Generation 6 What Ifs🦄🌈

What if MLP G6 brought back The Rainbow of Light locket thing that Megan had in G1 and the device Sunny used in G5 as a source of power for Earth ponies, Unicorns, and Pegasi to thwart off bad guys similar to how The Elements of Harmony work by saving the day with rainbow lasers?

2. What if MLP G6 brought back characters from G2 because G2 ponies need love too! They keep getting mistaken for the ponies in My Little Pony Tales from 1992 (which is actually just G1.5) or they're just forgotten COMPLETELY! They need more recognition!

3. What if MLP G6 had Spike the Dragon return but this time it's actually a genderbent version? It wouldn't be the first time a franchise would genderbent a supporting character, but it would make for an interesting outcome.

4. What if MLP G6 brought back G4 creatures from the IDW Comics and develop on their culture such as King Aspen, Prince Bramble, and the rest of the deer who live in a kingdom deep within The Everfree Forest? What about the Umbrum ponies (shadow ponies) who were an ancient race of wraith-like beings who used to terrorize The Crystal Empire? What about including Bat Ponies seeing as how they didn't get much material to work with?

5. What if MLP G6 treated alicorns as legends? The ponies would have so many stories, theories, and speculations about them yet they've never seen a single one! What if alicorns were able to dreamwalk like Princess Luna and ponies were able to see them that way but wouldn't believe it was real? What if alicorns regularly rushed to a pony's aid in their time of need for only a moment until they disappear into obscurity?

6. What if MLP G6 focused on an ordinary pony who didn't have any magic far from any pony lands but lived an ordinary life as a real-life horse at a petting zoo or the stables who would then make friends with either an Earth pony, Unicorn, or Pegasus who'd tell many stories of the magical pony lands inspiring our main character to join their new friend leaving the ordinary stable life behind while finding a new purpose in life? (This idea was mainly inspired by @bubamarra after learning of their ideas on G6 and this wonderful art piece is theirs as well).

7. What if MLP G6 had a TV special where ponies discuss what they believe the true magic in ponykind is while going over every previous generation seeing how they each use their own magic to stay together as one as they defeat many threats/obstacles along the way? What if they discussed the different magical devices that were used in previous gens like The Rainbow of Light (G1), Princess Rarity's Crystal Rainbow Wand (G3), or The Elements of Harmony (G4)? What if they talked about different characters from previous gens mentioning what they like or don't like about them? What if G6 ponies feel insecure that their magic might not measure up to previous gens?

8. What if MLP G6 had a one-hour special or the length of a TV movie where the ponies have to save their friends from getting kidnapped by humans who witnessed their magic and plan to use them for profit so they coincidentally bump into Megan from G1 and team up to rescue their friends? Maybe Megan's younger siblings (Danny and Molly) can join in to help too? I feel like kids would gladly take the opportunity to help magical talking animals on such an adventure!
