Kobusch summited Mera Peak as part of his acclimatisation period for his fourth solo winter Everest attempt via the West Ridge. This year, he is aiming to reach an altitude of 7,500 meters. Currently, Kobusch has just reached his 3rd camp at about 6,800 meters according to the live tracking feature on his website.

Has Everest climber Sandy Irvine been found after 100 years?

It’s considered one of mountaineering’s greatest mysteries. 100 years after his disappearance, a foot in a sock and a boot believed to belong to Andrew “Sandy” Irvine have been discovered by a National Geographic documentary team made up of director and photographer Jimmy Chin and filmmakers Mark Fisher and Erich Roepke working on an upcoming documentary. 

The discovery was made on the Central Rongbuk Glacier below the North Face of Everest. 

“I lifted up the sock and there’s a label that has ‘AC Irvine’ stitched into it,” Chin told National Geographic. “We were all literally running in circles dropping f-bombs” 

The discovery could help resolve the century old mystery of what happened to Irvine aged 22 and his climbing partner, famous climber George Mallory aged 38 and whether they managed to reach the 8,849 metres summit before their demise which has long been debated by historians and climbers. The two men were last seen on June 8th 1924 around 245 meters from the summit while they were attempting to become the first people to reach the peak, a journey known to be hazardous and dangerous. It’s unknown if they succeeded but they did that would make them the first to do so almost 30 years before Edmund Hiliary and Sherpa Tenzing Norgay reached it on May, 29, 1953. 

In 1924 Britain had lost its place as world leader of global exploration after losing out in the race to the North and South Poles. Mount Everest was seen as a chance to regain their position. Before the 1924 expedition other ascents had taken place led by Mallory, a former schoolmaster in 1921, 1922 and 1924. The 1921 climb mapped out 12, 000 square miles of the unexplored Himalayas, creating a basis for future expeditions that is till being “used and updated today” according to Jamie Owen of the Royal Geographical Society. Irvine joined Mallory in the last three attempts. 

The 1924 expedition was poorly planned and marred by illness but despite this they went ahead with their climb. Mallory wrote in a final letter to his wife “It is 50 to 1 against us but we’ll have a whack yet & do ourselves proud”. The men were last seen by a fellow climber Noel Odell, who reported seeing two black dots on the ridge. On June 19th 1924, the Mount Everest Committee received a cablegram from expedition member Colonel Norton saying: “Mallory and Irvine killed on last attempt. Rest of party arrived at camp base all well.”

A memorial service was held for them at St Paul’s Cathedral and was even attended by King George V. 

The discovery of the supposed remains was reported to the Royal Geographical Society- who organised Irvine and Mallory’s 1924 expedition with the Alpine Club. 

The finding is the biggest breakthrough in the mystery since the discovery of Mallory’s remains in 1999 by a climber during the Mallory and Irvine Research Expedition, which sought to find out whether the two had reached the summit. “It’s the first real evidence of where Sandy ended up” said Chin and he hopes the discovery will help explain what happened and bring closure to Irvine’s family and the climbing world. The remains were examined and revealed deep rope marks that could indicate a fall caught by a rope wrapped around his waist- suggesting that Mallory and Irvine were roped together before they died. 

His right leg was broken and his left leg was laid delicately over it. Snow goggles in his pocket indicate a possible evening fall and the photo of his wife he had planned to leave at the summit was missing leading to speculation that the men had succeeded. His camera which could hold proof of if they reached and maybe even what happened was lost.  

The sock and boot were found at a lower altitude than Mallory’s remains. 

After the discovery of the boot, Chin said one of the first people he contacted was Irvine’s great-niece, Julie Summers who has written a book about him, published in 2001. 

Members of the Irvine family have volunteered to compare DNA test results with the remains found to confirm his identity.

Cadeon Woede, Dark Desires After Dusk. Cade has been pegged often, he's into it, and Holly is down for it even if she has drink some margaritas beforehand.

Conrad Roth, Dark Needs at Night's Edge. Conrad and Neomi do it, they enjoy it, it's kinda therapeutic, they cry, and he for sure rips the strap off her and fucks the shit out of her. Every time. I can see how this would be written, and it is vivid.

Lothaire Daciano, Lothaire. NOT AS HIGH AS YOU WOULD THINK!!!! Obviously, Ellie pegs Lothaire, duh. But do I think it's a top priority? No. However, I also think that Ellie and Lothaire's sex life is very dependent on this idea that she's a brat and he just can't handle her and then he snaps, so like. There are OTHER acts that probably suit them more. When they do it, I imagine much blood is shed and sheets have to be burned.

Thronos Talos, Dark Skye. Obviously, Thronos was raised by the Magical Mormon Angels, so he has some religious conditioning to unpack, but Lanthe is about it and we know canonically that Thronos ate his own cum out of her on the reg so. I'm sure it's a regular thing.

Bowen MacRieve, Wicked Deeds on a Winter's Night. Bowen and Mariketa have one of the earlier sorta of semi-femdom scenes in the series, the first time they have sex when Mariketa uses tree vines to magically restrain Bowen while they're fucking because he's in Beast mode. I think EVERY werewolf has been pegged, because they're inherent pleasers. I think BOWEN has been pegged while the Beast is out, with the help of Mari's magic.

Nikolai Wroth, The Warlord Wants Forever. I think Myst has a pretty dominant energy, and I'm sure it's come up and been tried because Nikolai actually isn't that experienced. Do I think it's enjoyed? Yes. Do I think it's routine? No.

Sebastian Wroth, No Rest for the Wicked. UMMMM I think that's a yes. However, I actually don't think they do it often, because Kaderin is like... yeah, she chains him up and sucks him off while he's chained, but Kaderin is surprisingly into his big unexpected shows of dominance. So when it does happen, I think he flips the game on her and starts riding it.

Munro MacRieve, Munro. One of the least toxically masculine IAD heroes, for sure Munro was pegged before he met Kereny (because he was a slut) and he would be pegged after.

Sian Infernas, Wicked Abyss. Sian is someone who I feel like probably said something homophobic about pegging in the past, but he learned, got better, and is ultimately a simp.

Lachlain MacRieve, A Hunger Like No Other. I think that Lachlain is probably not SUPER into pegging, but I also think that what Emma wants, Emma gets. Like, Emma is def getting pregnant before this series is over, whether or not Lachlain wants to wait until after the Apocalypse. If she pegged him while drinking his blood, I think he'd be SUUUUUPER into it.

Declan Chase, Dreams of a Dark Warrior. I think DC has a lot of trauma and control issues surrounding that trauma, but I also think Regin is into it, he's into getting beaten up by Regin, and he'd probably be down if it was REEEEEEEALLY kinky. Like, restraints, blindfolds, gags, she's telling him an elaborate story during.

Uilleam MacRieve, MacRieve. Obviously, MacRieve has a lot of sexual trauma, and I do think he's very control-based, but once he finds his zen with Chloe he seems really loosey-goosey about sex, soooooo. I'm sure it's happening. Buuuut it didn't happen before Chloe, because I think it's canon that after he grew up, MacRieve only had sex doggy style in full Beast mode until her. He didn't even EAT PUSSY until Chloe. He was a LOST MAN. That's why all the other werewolves looked at him with SADNESS and PITY. He was the Rudolph of Clan MacRieve, but instead of being a red-nosed reindeer he was the one who had not performed cunnilingus with VERVE AND PANACHE.

Garreth MacRieve, Pleasure of a Dark Prince. OBVIOUSLY. OBVIOUSLY. Garreth has been pegged, and he will be pegged again, but I actually don't think he and Lucia do it often because like... Lucia is reeeeally subby with Garreth. And you can be submissive and peg someone, but I just feel like their dynamic is very "you're tired, I take care of you", and I don't think they do it much. Not because of a lack of desire, but I think that Garreth and Lucia have like, extremely passionate yet interestingly vanilla sex. But it's so weirdly emotional that it somehow seems kinky. Trehan Daciano, Shadow's Claim. Eh. I don't think Trehan is that adventurous, and I don't think Bettina's that curious. Give them a while.

Malkolm Slaine, Demon from the Dark. So Malkolm, I think, would be potentially open to it? But he's very very traumatized from the abuse he suffered as a child, and I think it would be too stressful.

Rydstrom Weode, Kiss of a Demon King. Yeah so Sabine is very much too lazy to do this, Rydstrom would never trust her to care for sex toys or lube so it's a lot of work, and I'll be honest, I looooove Rydstrom, he is a TOP hero for me, but lol, Rydstrom is NOT down for that.

I do not mind, im not picky or selective at all! Just dont be a piece of shit (trans/homophobe, racist, sexist, yk the drill.) and i’ll be happy to roleplay with you.

3. NO godmodding. Please. Ik we all love to have silly ocs and character fights but do not just make your character the most powerful mofo ever and impossible to fight. Muses who have gods as their muses, i do not mind, im aware my characters stand little chance in a fight, but otherwise please be fair and make this enjoyable for both of us :)

Info: Everest, despite appearing as a simple siamese breed of Cat mobian, isnt exactly all he seems to be. Infsct, Everest is a Darkling/Black arms offspring. Just like Eclipse and the Darklings, however during the crash Everest was separated from the others, and the alien escaped into a large forest park, growing and maturing much faster then the darklings did due to hunting mobians that would cross his ‘territory’ while walking the hiking trails of the park. Over time, Everests body evolved to fit in with the environment around him and look more like the ‘prey’ he hunts. However overtime, Everest has slowly domesticated himself. Living like any ‘normal’ mobian who lives in a cave in a forest park. With cannibalistic urges and a distaste for veggies. And, not to mention, a massive wolf boyfriend known as Crescent.

Info: Sabaton is a ‘noodle-like’ Dragon breed with massive, glorious wings that sprout from his back covered in fur&feathers, the rest of his body is scaley and rough to the touch, with fur growing out of the sides of his face, top of the skull that acts like hair that grows alll the way down to the tip of his tail, & around his neck. The dragon is incredibly bratty in nature as he was raised in a wealthy household, making him insufferable to the ‘common people’. Hes as annoying as he is gorgeous and will flaunt it any chance he gets.

Info: Osore is.. odd. They’re a mix of so many different species of mobian, its just safe to call them anything but one specific creature. Sprouting massive deer antlers sprouting from their skull&Bunny ears, with a heavy jaw almost like a crocodiles that causes them to look like they always have an uncanny smile on their face. Osore has no pattern or decor on their fur, they are a pure jet black besides their pure white paws. They’re.. odd. Hard to talk too, but they always seem to know a thing or two about you before you can even introduce yourself. They dont know everything. But its pretty creepy when they say your name before you can tell them what it is.
