This is nonsense! | @everafrost
@everafrost
Once again, Jane couldn’t sleep. She turned and turned on her bed, punching her pillow because it was too uncomfortable, kicking the blankets because they were too hot, and then desperately bringing them over herself it was suddenly too cold.
Once again, in the dead of night, the motor of a military truck could be heard in the block. Her heart skipped a beat, and against her better judgment, Jane jumped out of her bed, threw a blouse over her shoulders and ran downstairs, not bothering to turn on any lamps.
Tumblr media
Once again, she watched by her doorstep as the vehicle passed right on her street, turning right at the corner. One of the soldiers gave her a sad smile.  Her father wasn’t coming home that night.
And once again, Jane sat in the front yard, hugging her legs as tears streamed down her face. It was snowing, but she didn’t quite notice it. It was always empty hope, she knew that, but it was also the only thing she still believed in.

16 to 22, ooc and 1 muse of your choice?
Thank you! ((Tea asks))
16. Hibiscus tea: What is a song you can always hear?
Lately I’ve been listening to a couple songs on repeat - Fuel to Fire by Agnes Obel, Smokestacks by Layla, and Stay Alive by Jose Gonzales are a few that I can play constantly without getting bored.
17. Flowering tea: What is a movie you can always watch?
There are actually very few movies I usually feel motivated to watch - I’m one of those people who says they don’t want to watch a movie because it takes too long and then proceeds to binge watch five straight hours of a tv show.  How to Train Your Dragon is probably my favorite movie, with Big Hero 6 as a close second.  As far as shows, I’m literally always in the mood to watch Pushing Daisies, Star Trek, Steven Universe, or Warehouse 13. Psych and Eureka are also comfort shows for me; they’re the ones I go back and watch a lot when I’m not doing well.
18. Pu-erh tea: What is a book you can recommend to others?
Ocean at the End of the Lane by Niel Gaiman.  It’s beautifully written and a quick read, definitely one of my favorite books. Neverwhere and The Graveyard Book are also 11/10 always recommend. Just anything and everything by Neil Gaiman okay
19. Turkish tea: What is your favourite cake?
Oh man this is a tough one… probably molten chocolate cake topped with fresh raspberries and whipped cream
20. Green tea: What was the first movie you saw in a cinema?
I have some vague memories of going to a theater with my dad when I was like four and being terrified.  I can’t remember what movie it was though.  The first one I actually really remember was Toy Story 2.  I was still a smol young thing but it was considerably less scary that time.
21. Blueberry-Muffin tea: Tell me a memory, which makes you smile.
My first semester of college, the day before thanksgiving break.  I was going to be staying in the dorms for the break, while everyone else was going home.  it was a bit of a lonely prospect.  My friend (who would one day become one of the closest friends I’ve ever had) came down to my room to say goodbye and borrow some books.  She had a long bus ride ahead of her, and I always had a well-stocked bookshelf.  We talked for a little while, and she brought up the prospect of us being roommates someday, when we moved out of the dorms.  We hugged, tight - she was one of few people I was ever really comfortable being touched by, and she gives fantastic hugs.  Like, holding someone so tight and nuzzling up close to them simply because you love them to pieces and just need to wrap yourself around them.  That kind of hug.  At least, that’s how it always felt to me.  I watched her leave, and realized in that moment just how much I was going to miss her.  It was mostly an unimportant and uneventful kind of moment, but it stuck with me for a long time.
In the years that followed, we did become roommates, and the best of friends.  We shared so many wonderful moments together, so many good memories.  She helped me through some of the worst times of my life and she’s always going to mean the world to me.  We’re no longer living in the same town and staying in contact has been difficult and complicated by a lot of stuff, so the memory is more bittersweet than happy.  But it still makes me smile, and I miss the good times we had together more than anything.
22. Panda tea: Do you have pets? Which one?
Yes! This is my leopard gecko, Jack. She’s a sassy little lizard and I love her dearly. (Fun fact - she inspired a character on this blog, my smol gay pirate queen)
1. Rosehip tea: Which book did you love when you were younger?(Going for a modern verse here) Melissa would have loved The Salamander Room (which may or may not have also been the mun’s favorite picture book). It’s this super cute story about a boy who wants to turn his room into a forest so his newly adopted salamander friend can be happy. She also would have been one of those rare few who actually really loved The Giving Tree and didn’t just see it as sad. As she got older, she adored Harry Potter and definitely dressed up as Hermionie on more than one occasion.

@everafrost Hallow wasn’t one for the warmer months. He much preferred the colorful leaves and spreading frost, and when the days grew short and cold, he enjoyed having the chance to see Jocelyn Frost spread her own unique magic over the earth. Sometimes, though, he wanted more than to just observe. Perhaps he’d be able to talk with her this time?
Hallow took about two false starts before he finally jumped to a branch on the tree where he’d actually be visible.

@everafrost liked this for a starter
Aileen was studying this new girl practice at Camp Half-Blood. It had been a while since the Hunters had gone to stay at Camp Half-Blood, but Aileen and Sasha had been hunting monsters and they could use some luxury for a few days. The dark haired girl wasn’t particularly bad, but it was easy to spot she had not been there for long, or that she was behind training.
Tumblr media
Aileen got up from where she had been seated and made her way to the dark-haired girl who was practising her archery. “Hi. Your hold on your bow isn’t correct. Your thumb shouldn’t be behind the handle, your hand has to be behind the handle,” Aileen commented as she came standing next to the girl. “That’s why you have the ‘kick’ to the bow when you shoot.”

As nervous as Alice had been to move and travel all the way from England to America to start a new life, she was in love with their new home.  It was a quaint cabin near a forest, with flower fields surrounding it on all sides.  The fresh air was always filled with the smell of sunshine and daisies.  It had only been a few days, but Alice already knew she would spend hours playing among the flowers, counting butterflies and daydreaming until the sun went down.
When her father was falsely accused of committing fraud in his business - taking money for his own personal gain - it quickly became dangerous for Alice’s family to stay in England.  They were receiving threats from his coworkers, their neighbors, and even people they had considered friends.  It was clear that the accusations weren’t going to fade away or become less hostile, so they had packed up their things and taken a ship to America, seeking freedom and peace of mind.
Alice had enjoyed being on the boat, standing on the deck and letting the salty breeze blow through her hair as she looked over the side, trying to catch a glimpse of mermaids or sea monsters. But she knew how anxious her parents and older sister were.  Sometimes she overhead her mother and father whispering, their voices full of worry and uncertainty about the future.  It made Alice sad if she listened too long or allowed thoughts of doubt to creep into her own mind, so she tried her best to comfort her family by remaining hopeful. With determination and optimism, she turned her fears into laughter, until even her parents had to smile at her enthusiasm.
It was with this mindset that Alice spent the duration of their trip and the first few days upon arriving in America, where they found a home and finally settled down.  She knew then that it had all been worth it.  All the tears she held back, all the times her dread kept her awake for hours into the night.  All the times she looked out the porthole in her room when she was unable to sleep, watching the moonlight reflect on the water and wondering whether everything would be okay.  It had been worth it, and the joy and excitement she felt now was real and thrilling in every way.
Tumblr media
This day was like every other day had been so far - the sky above the cabin blue and boundless, the trees of the forest swaying in a light breeze, teasing Alice with the unexplored depths beyond them.  She hurried through her chores and ran into the field when she was done, saying goodbye to her mother as she tugged on her boots.  Like always, she took a moment to lie in the grass and watch the clouds as they passed by, daydreaming until she came up with an adventure to have for the day.
It didn’t take long for her to think of one. She had often seen the silhouette of a young girl in the window of one of the houses nearby. Alice had been too nervous to wave or introduce herself the first few times the girl appeared.  After all, she’d always been seen as strange by the children in England, with her peculiar ideas and tendency to explore her way into trouble.  But today she was determined to let go of all that and see if the girl in the window wanted to play.  Perhaps they could even be friends.  Alice knew that was a bit of a stretch, but she could always hope this time would be different.
Besides, she couldn’t back out now. An unexpected noise had made its way through the fog of her thoughts, the source of which turned out to be the girl coming out of her home. Alice took a deep breath to calm her nerves. She gently placed the ladybug that had been resting on her dress on a daisy, then stood up slowly, not wanting to draw too much attention to herself. Right, step one complete.  Now all she had to do was figure out how to make her legs move in the right direction.

Frost blue, tea orange
tea orange: what is something that your muse is fascinated with?
She’s very fascinated with the world from aman’s point of view. She often wonders what life would have been like if shewas born a male and not a female. Merida is sure that her mother wouldn’t caretoo much when she sneaks out to join her father’s hunting parties, eavesdrop onhis battle planning and ditches classes on history for classes on swordfighting if she was the other gender.Merida has been known to spy on the lessons the triplets get. She’s also beenknown to get them into trouble because she’s slightly jealous that they don’t havethe harsh upbringing that she has for being the example and future clan leader. If you ask Merida she would saythat being able to defend her clan was more important than looking pretty andbeing able to pronounce words properly.Hell when was she ever going to use sewing---- oh.But, yeah, she is fascinated with many things. She wishes that she could joinin the training that the Young Lords go in. She also knows that if she pesteredher dad he would let her but that would simply put King Fergus in Queen Elinor’sbad books! Sometimes it’s not worth it. But, Merida will teach herself thesethings.King Fergus does help though. He teaches her when she persists but… they haveto hide it from Elinor. So if there was something that Merida was fascinatedwith and wanted to learn more about it would be that. Just because she’s anatural with a bow and a formidable sword fighter doesn’t mean it can’t beimproved upon. Give her the chance, Elinor! Let her be the leader she can be!

“I promise that I did not kidnap a tooth fairy.” He maneuvered the suitcase behind his back as the being in question fluttered happily around his head. Newt tried for a sincere smile belying his innocence, but all he managed to convey was awkwardness. It was difficult to lie, even more so, when ice and snow kept nipping at his heels. “She chose to follow me home.”

Calli had always loved the snow. No rhyme or reason to it, no deep memories or associations. Just ‘it looks pretty’. There was a sense of peacefulness to watching thick, wet flakes drift gently to the ground. The calmness of it all, a constant in an ever changing and always busy world.
However, she thought sourly as she glared at the storm brewing beyond the glass of her window, there were always exceptions. Dark clouds hung heavy against the sky, the snow falling so thickly Calli could barely see past it to her greenhouse. Icicles were already forming on the overhang above her window and she could feel the biting cold through the glass.
Oh, she loved the snow. But when a certain mischievous lover of winter proceeded to make one of the biggest snow storms this decade appear 3 days before Valentines Day, well, that just wouldn’t do.
Turning away from the window and chaotic swirling just beyond it, Calli spared Jo a fraction of a look before pinching the bridge of her nose and taking a deep breath. It’s fine, she reasoned to herself, I’ll have to work day and night to make sure we stay on schedule, but this is fine. Jocelyn didn’t do it to be difficult, and you cannot take your frustration out on her.
Annoyance {temporarily} stored, she finally gave Jo a sour look. “Just.... why?” she asked after a beat, gesturing helplessly to the near biblical storm that was just barely getting started outside.
