The Bowers Gang: Ship #15 - Henry Bowers
Request: hello i would like to request a ship, if you don't mind +_+ i'm not really tall, average build, really long dark hair. i'm fond of formal office wear and in general prefer dark colors and non-revealing clothes, if that makes sense. as a person i try my best to be a good friend though at some times i'm a bit too caring and at others times i care less than i should bc i'm sick or busy af(i easily get sick.). i tend to be anxious and even a bit paranoid bc of some kind of ocd i dunno ( i get all those unnecessary thoughts like "i should leave the bus immediately bc i've got a bad feeling about this dude" and then i should look 10 times to the left and 10 to the right to calm myself somehow ._.) my hobbies is reading (mostly scandinavian detectives), watching films and playing tabletop role-playing games. also i secretly like date sims. in society i try my best to be polite and patient(i'm this person who takes all the shit goin my way to stop conflict from happening), but with my friends i can be more open and even impulsive. that's it. i hope it's not too much and my english is okay.
First and foremost, it’s kind of astonishing that you were even able to befriend The Bowers Gang at all - let alone start hooking up with their leader
Their reputation (+ Hockstetter’s hardcore creeper vibe) kept your paranoia on high alert for a long time - so much so that it was all you could do not to drop the few classes you had with specific members of the group
... And it was that insane, animal fear that would eventually cause the guys to target you later on
Hey - you were walking down the hall one day, saw the guys standing around Belch’s locker, and instantly turned on your heel to avoid them
I can’t help the fact that Patrick saw you do that
And I can’t help the fact that that gave he and the guys reason enough to start messing with you
Wound up resulting in a super adorable relationship with Bowers though, so yay (and genuine yay this time - not yay with a question mark attached to it)
Joins in whenever the guys make fun of your “office wear” proclivity (and they make fun of it often)...
... but secretly kind of likes the fact that you prefer non-revealing clothing
Mostly because he’s a misogynistic bastard who doesn’t want the girls he dates “on display” for everyone else, but still - Bowers is down with the corporate causal aesthetic
Sometimes lets you read to him, which is one of the most endearing thing I’ve ever heard
Was originally something you only did when Henry got sick (he was in a fever-coma once, and you figured some quality Scandinavian literature couldn’t hurt), but now it happens basically every time he wants to get his mind off of something
... And Bowers wants to get his mind off of something a lot
So it’s not uncommon for people to catch you reading to him while he carves into things with his knife, puts his head in his arms and “sleeps,” etc.
Generally tries to look like he’s not paying attention to the story, even though it’s obvious he’s invested (i.e. glances over at the book for a second when something surprising happens, tends to open his eyes during intense parts when he’s had them closed for a while ...)
Aka: One of the most dangerous people in the city of Derry is becoming a hardcore reading buff, and that’s 100% because of you - congratulations
Makes all the guys check up on you whenever you get sick
... Seriously, it’s so cute - you’ll just be sitting at home, all stuffed up and gross, when suddenly you’ll get a random knock at the door
... at which point you’ll open it to find either Belch, Victor, or Patrick standing there with the rest of the guys waiting in the car behind them
Just let that imagery sink in...
Have you fully appreciated how adorable it is?
Okay, then.
Sometimes you get a Victor Criss care-package complete with aspirin, tissues, and suckers to keep you going (hence why you tend to hope it’s Victor when you hear that knock on your door), but it usually has something Hockstetter-esque added to it in the few instances when Patrick gets to bring it to you
... He once switched out a little book of poems Criss gave you with a pocket-sized copy of the Kama Sutra
Just had that on him for some reason - pocket-sized copy of the Kama Sutra
Regardless though, Henry never comes to the door (even though the guys always show up on his orders) because he’s too macho to show he’s concerned about your well-being even though it’s painfully clear he’s concerned about your well-being
Have fun with that even mix of ice and passionate care
*Somewhat triggering, but kind of lighthearted side-note*
Patrick is the single worst thing that has ever happened for your anxiety issues, and he loves every second of it
Sometimes physically interferes with your compulsions, because he doesn’t want you to be able to calm yourself (holds your face still when you try to turn your head back and forth a certain number of times, will block your exit if you start to feel overwhelmed in a specific setting, etc.)
Also actively triggers a lot of your intrusive thoughts (”You really feel safe right now, princess?” *Ultra-specific Hockstetter smirk created to make you doubt yourself* “Really?”)
Also sits behind you in one of the classes you share together, and constantly does things to fuck with your hair
It’s not really important, I’m just letting you know
Sometimes keeps a lighter under the ends just long enough to create that “singed” smell, twists a few locks around his fingers, etc.
Basically just wants to remind you that he’s there (right behind you) as often as he can, and has always liked your long dark hair, so that’s the route he takes
I’m so sorry for the paranoia in you; truly
*Somewhat triggering, yet kind of lighthearted side-note over*
You, Belch, and Victor are arguably the most tight-knit friends in the gang, and it’s kind of amazing on every level
Ya’ll share 3/6 classes together (without Patrick or Henry), so you really got used to being your authentic selves around one another over time
Nerdy inside jokes, deep talks, genuine “this is me” moments - you guys have it all (and, to be honest, you’d all be super down to arrange a hangout without the other guys if any one of you had the balls to suggest it)
Low-key very similar to The Losers’ Club when it’s just the three of you, but we’ll pretend I never said that
Victor came to one of your table-top gaming sessions once
Only attended the one time (because cold-blooded reputation/genuine lack of skill), but he befriended some of your nice table-top gaming compatriots, so good job being a positive influence
... Alright... now get ready for some pretty legit unpleasantness
Henry unloads on you often because he knows you’re willing to take it, and sometimes the kid just can’t help himself
You know that scene from the movie where he yelled at Belch to shut up (when he was cutting Ben)?
Yeah - that type of rage-filled Bowers energy has been directed at you in the past
Low-key one of the most unhealthy aspects of your relationship, but you tend to default to radio-silence at the first sign of Henry starting to lose it on you (what with your dislike of conflict and such), so it typically never escalates past one hardcore outburst (like Belch’s “shut up!”)
Never outright apologizes to you for it, but tends to try to get physically close to you after he calms down as an indirect way of saying he’s sorry
I.e. Will sit down next to you without saying anything, will come into a room you’re in and awkwardly walk around without acknowledging you, etc.
Basically just tries to let you know he was wrong with his actions rather than with his words
... And if you want a future with Bowers, you’re gonna’ have to get used to accepting apologies you never got like that
Sorry - it’s just the way his broken brain works
Overall though, a great relationship, and one that works well with the rest of the guys
They all love you, dude - you’ve been accepted. Just feel that

ppl i think regis would get along w/ really well despite never officially meeting them (not counting yen or ciri bc obviously regis would get along w/ them):
note: under read more due to length
eskel:
they’re both level-headed & are very familiar with the feeling of being the only sane person in a room. now when geralt or lambert say something incredibly absurd, they just give each other the look™
because of how similar eskel & geralt are, regis immediately feels at ease around the witcher. they were different, of course, but many of the fundamental principles which endeared regis to geralt could also be found in eskel. their friendship comes across as quite natural despite having not known each other for long.
regis is delighted to hear about what geralt was like as a child. eskel tells a bunch of stories, reminiscing upon their childhood & all the trouble the two wolf-school witchers got into. pretty good times all around.
they also both like animals so eskel introduces regis to his goat, lil’ bleater, while regis introduces eskel to his... ominous conspiracy of ravens. eskel’s admiration of regis increases tenfold after that.
when eskel returns to the path at the start of spring, he fondly notices that he has three ravens trailing him every now & then. he starts feeding them seeds & grain when he stops in villages for supplies/lodging. the ravens return the favor w/ gifts, starting w/ giving him dead mice or shiny pieces of metal & ending w/ runestones & other witcher-related supplies (likely at regis’s behest).
they also exchange letters every now & then thru the ravens, which eskel enjoys more than he’d admit out loud. unlike his usual clipped speech & monotone, eskel is much more expressive & open in his writings, to regis’s pleased surprise. there are a few times where eskel’s letters are even longer than regis’s--a feat, truly.
one full moon, the wolf school witchers (eskel, lambert, and geralt) get so incredibly intoxicated on mandrake hooch that they bet regis that they’d be able to land at least one hit on him as a trio... in regis’s giant murder bat form. humoring the three men, regis complies and transforms in the courtyard. lambert immediately passes out at the sight of regis’s teeth. geralt suddenly recalls a vivid memory of regis’s attack on stygga castle & in the case of self-preservation, forfeits entirely by dropping his sword. he then throws up in a nearby bush & joins lambert on the ground. eskel drops his sword but not out of fear--instead, his animal-loving nature comes out full-force and he ends up drunkenly patting regis’s head and scratching his chin. regis gives a happy churr of approval in response.
when vesemir wakes up early the next morning, completely unaware of the previous night’s events, he finds it odd that the keep is so quiet, but goes on w/ his routine. when he goes to the courtyard to check on the horses, he instead finds the 3 witchers asleep--with regis, /still/ in his bat form, acting like a fluffy pillow for the 3 men, one wing wrapped protectively over them as they slept. upon closer inspection, he sees that lil’ bleater is wrapped up in regis’s other wing, sleeping soundly.
vesemir:
rocky start at first bc uhhh why is there a higher vampire in our keep, geralt? but after actually getting to know regis, vesemir becomes quite fond of the vampire. being a fairly old witcher, he enjoys being able to chat w/ regis about things that were popular in their youth. at one point vesemir realizes that regis was actually the same vampire he’d heard of back when he was first starting out on the path--that vesemir had even seen contracts for the vampire’s head but he ignored them bc while he was young, he wasn’t idiotic enough to actually go after a higher vampire (lol @ geralt). they even share a laugh about it.
old slang words!! they both get to use ‘em in colloquial speech w/ each other & laugh at their jokes while the other witchers just roll their eyes.
regis helps update the keep’s knowledge on both higher & lower vampires, penning his own bestiary of sorts on his species, but focusing on techniques & concoctions that could keep witchers safe from harm.
regis’s curiosity regarding the trial of grasses becomes apparent & vesemir gives the vampire whatever books still remain on the process. regis is delighted to see that witchers did have vampire genes in them (from bruxae tongue, specifically).
bonus points for vesemir trying to “sweep up” all the vampire-hunting paraphernalia the keep has, attempting to hide the (lower) vampire skulls, fangs, tongue, claws, etc., that they had displayed like trophies. regis isn’t all that offended to begin with (his inner scientist was actually intrigued by the vampire parts that the witchers kept preserved), but he does break into a fit of laughter when he stumbles upon vesemir trying to shove an entire stock of black blood potions into a cabinet & ends up dropping all of them at hearing regis approach--the room smells horrid to regis for weeks after tho.
“did you... did you really think geralt never drank black blood in front of me? he was contracted to hunt down a higher vampire.” “...i just didn’t want you to think i was worried about you attacking us.” “hmm, the more i learn about witchers, the more i wonder how your reputation as heartless monster killers has persisted over the centuries.”
priscilla:
it’s an immediate friendship that blossoms between them. dandelion feels a bit jealous that regis feels comfortable to laugh & joke about his nature in front of priscilla when it took regis months to even reveal he was a vampire to the hansa in general. regis reminds him that the first time he so much as smiled and showed his teeth, he had let out a scream and nearly fainted.
regis does his barber-surgeon magic™ and provides priscilla w/ a medicinal concoction to add to her hot tea every morning. it helps incredibly well and lets her speak/sing for longer. similarly, regis also gets a salve for priscilla to put on her scars that help them heal a bit more. eventually, she no longer wears a scarf around her neck and regis is thrilled at the sight.
regis is a big fan of priscilla’s singing. as he himself is not the greatest singer, he finds that he loves listening to her singing as he journals/reads/etc. one time he even dozed off, having been so relaxed, that when he wakes, he finds that priscilla had draped a blanket over him & even managed to prop a pillow behind his head w/o waking him.
priscilla confides in regis when she first thinks that she may be pregnant. given his abilities, he was able to smell the change in her hormones & was able to give her the good news. he goes into barber-surgeon mode™ rt after tho & gives priscilla (and dandelion, once he gets over the shock that he’s becoming a father) a bunch of notes on what sort of diet, exercise, etc., she should do while pregnant. dandelion goes to oxenfurt at regis’s behest to ‘borrow’ more accurate anatomy textbooks and they both pour over the info., wanting to make sure that if he was for some reason predisposed when priscilla was giving birth, dandelion could at least handle it/know what to expect.
shani:
they’re both practicing physicians & it’s a shame cdpr didn’t let them meet (even if they were in diff dlcs).
both get to teach each other different medical-related things!!
regis is more self-taught (but i do headcanon that he learned a lot of his abilities as a barber-surgeon while in the Humanist’s company) & relies on a mix of experience, textbooks (some even written by other higher vampires), and general word-of-mouth (i.e., herbal remedies he’s learned from different villages along his travels) in his practice, tho his specialty is surgery... and haircuts lol
shani actually attended medical school at oxenfurt academy so her knowledge is much more /by the books/ so to speak. bc of this, she’s able to help regis ‘catch up’ on human anatomy terms that aren’t as commonly used by higher vampires (which is where regis got most of his knowledge). also, what shani lacks in experience she makes up tenfold in skill and problem-solving. for instance, she’s able to show regis a sewing technique to close up a wound that she created to save thread since she worked on battlefields for the most part
they both enjoy academia and learning in general, so besides medicine, they also chat about things ranging from politics to philosophy. shani eventually becomes the dean of medicine at oxenfurt in the series, so it’d be nice to imagine that this decision was influenced by regis, who noted that she would make an excellent professor/researcher
regis normally gave haircuts to men, but got the chance to give shani a haircut when she lamented that her bangs were falling into her eyes too often during surgeries and she didn’t want to wear a headband (they shared a laugh thinking about geralt and the headband he used to wear).
anyway, they remain great friends and shani even manages to rope regis into giving a few guest lectures at oxenfurt after she becomes dean. while he frets a little about the possibility of the students, all curious and bright, realizing he isn’t human, the lectures end up being a big hit. and regis can’t deny that he enjoys the attention... it’s not everyday that he gets to ramble about medicine & certain surgical procedures and have a full lecture hall of students eagerly jotting down his words.
#emiel regis#witcher headcanons#eskel#vesemir#priscilla#shani#lol enjoy even tho literally no one asked for this

Additional Characters: i can’t say, it’s a surprise
IC
Character Name: Adrian Ivashkov
Character Age/Birthday: 27/August 3rd
Character Species*: Wizard
Character Faceclaim: Max Irons
District of Origin: District One
Strengths:
- Charismatic: Blessed with a conventionally attractive face and raised with the need to lie to get attention, Adrian is sensitive to the personalities of others and can manipulate their weaknesses to get what he wants from them. Though he’s never felt the need to use his charm for malicious means, he knows he has this trick safely tucked in his belt for safe keeping if the need should ever arise.
- Compassionate: Though it may be hard to get through Adrian’s careless and often emotionally disinterested exterior, the man has a heart that often leads him into trouble. While he may be flirty and laid back in first encounters, once he actually cares about someone, Adrian cares with his entire being. He would go to great lengths to keep the ones he loves happy and alive, even if that meant giving up his own life.
- Wizardry: Being the only safe haven he had ever had away from his home life (excluding his aunt), Adrian had excelled at Hogwarts and mastering his magic in general. Being a pureblood had offered opportunities that perhaps some of his peers had lacked, and Adrian had taken advantage of each and every one thrown his way. His O.W.L.s and N.E.W.T.s hadn’t had the best of scores, as standardized testing had never been his forte, but his proficiency in Defense Against the Dark Arts and Charms had been promising, and he’d been allowed to advance in his studies to graduation at seventeen.
- Bravery: Adrian hadn’t followed the footsteps of many in his district, and his parents had never forced him down the path of the Careers. This left him less than physically capable in fights. But his physical limitations had never stopped Adrian from, maybe a little recklessly sometimes, jumping into any situation to do what he believed was right. It is still one of his defining characteristics to this day, even if the people he’s being brave for don’t necessarily want him to be.
Weaknesses:
- Mentally Ill: While he’s never been properly diagnosed, Adrian suffers from severe depression and issues of self-loathing. On good days, he can see the beauty in the world and can find it in himself to believe those that say they love him. On his worst days, it’s hard to be alive. Hallucinations, however brief, are not uncommon during these bad episodes, and sometimes he can flip from good to bad like a switch.
- Addiction: Medication and counseling for said diseases had never been considered by Adrian. Having only ever seen his mother’s method for dealing with the madness, he began self-medicating with alcohol and, specifically, clove cigarettes, at a very young age. While they often only really brought numbness to his mind and no real relief from the onslaught of pain, the break from feeling anything at all was still a worthy trade-off, no matter how often he’d get in trouble at Hogwarts or at home. Living under Paylor’s strict rules is difficult, and without his ‘medication’, Adrian finds himself relapsing and having violent episodes often.
- Physical Weakness: Adrian may be well-versed in the abilities of magic and its usefulness in battle, but it’s very easy to catch him without his wand. Having had no Career training like many of his counterparts in the Nut, and no basic combat training period, Adrian would be dead in the water in any real fight. While this may not have caused him so much trouble in his youth, having come from a wealthy family in a wealthy district, the world they live in now calls for a much different set of skills. One that Adrian, unfortunately, does not possess. Not that he’d ever admit that.
- Empathy: Maybe due to his illnesses, or the lack of said weakness he was shown in his childhood, Adrian has a sense of empathy that is hyper sensitive. He feels everything, from everyone, whether he wants to or not. His ability to relate to people goes beyond just compassion – it’s as if he’s living the exact events they are, experiencing the same emotions as those he’d try to comfort. In the end, it’s often him that’s being comforted, instead of the other way around. And, eventually, those feelings too get shoved behind a wall of numbness brought on by several drinks and, occasionally, a nice woman.
Biography:
Adrian Ivashkov had grown up in what many would consider a cushy life. Having never had to fear starvation or homelessness left Adrian with a distinct advantage over many of his peers, and he’d never taken it for granted. However, this headstart on life hadn’t meant that his had been easy. Adrian had learned the hard way that not all parents were loving, and that the people meant to care about you the most often would be happier with you gone.
Nathan and Daniella Ivashkov had gotten married too young, and had made one too many mistakes along the way. Their biggest, perhaps, had been their only son. They’d made no attempt to hide their regret over his life, and the only love that had ever come Adrian’s way as a child had been from his great-aunt. She had been the only one he’d striven to please, and subsequently, for all intents and purposes, it had been Tatiana that had raised the boy. Adrian may have lived with his mother and father for the duration of his childhood, but it had been his Aunt Tatiana that had attended extracurricular activities, birthdays, and, when his Hogwarts acceptance letter arrived, purchased his supplies and saw him off on the train. She had been the only one he’d miss away at school, and she was the only one that ever cared enough about his studies to praise him when he did well – despite their whole family being pureblood.
Adrian’s first few years at Hogwarts had been pleasant. Easy, even, for a child that picked up on new subjects relatively quickly. Gryffindor had been the house he’d been sorted into, and he’d quickly charmed his way into the hearts of most of his professors. As classes picked up after his third year, however, he began slacking. Adrian became lazy, often dozing in the middle of classes or ditching them altogether, assuming that he’d be able to ride by on physical skill alone for the rest of his academic career. This, of course, was not the case, and despite his proficiency in the actual act of casting spells, his written grades suffered. Enough teachers had taken pity on him to allow him to proceed on to graduation, but many were frustrated with his lack of commitment and refused to recommend the man for any job opportunities beyond the school. But Adrian had already known what he was going to do with his life after Hogwarts, and the impact of said professors had little effect.
Leaving the place that had given him a home away from his parents had been difficult for him. But with his family’s wealth, and a new sense of living independently, Adrian had rushed directly from his graduation to the Capitol to live closer to the only other thing that had ever made him feel remotely worthwhile – his aunt. He knew of her going-ons in the Capitol, knew what her purpose serving under Voldemort was. He knew of the tortures and of his great-aunt’s involvement. But growing up with only her love had left this deep attachment to her that Adrian couldn’t quite shake, and he lived peacefully knowing that for every life she’d taken, or had a hand in taking, she’d helped him heal his own and had stayed with him through all of the mood swings and emotional upheaval his parents had caused in him. Eventually, years later, when she passed and Voldemort had been brought down, this too would be his undoing.
Adrian had ended up in the second arena, alongside all of Coin’s ‘trusted followers’, as one of Voldemort’s supporters. While at first this had been chaotic, he’d formed a few friendships among those trapped and had earned their trust through their mutual hatred for President Coin. This allowed him safe passage out of the arena with the others during their escape, and he’d quietly stayed with them through all of their moves since, knowing that he and his family were now seen as pariahs in the world outside of this group of rebels. The only real friend he’d kept in contact with (or, pestered, as she’d put it), Rose Hathaway, was now in the Capitol and unable to reach back to their base. Knowing she’d be the only person that would vouch for him on his bad days, Adrian mostly keeps to himself to keep from being seen as a threat when he feels his moods becoming unstable.
Comments/Changes: i bumped his age from my original app bc in the books he’s 5 years older than rose annnnd if i kept his original age now he’d be younger than rose in the rp so… lel
HE’S ALSO A WIZARD NOW NOT VAMP just to keep it closer to like.. VA’s original idea
