Do you think Edelgard perceives herself as a victim? I’ve been thinking and I can’t decide myself, on one hand she clearly hates the idea of people being victims or helpless, and constantly reframes the victims of the war as “necessary sacrifices” instead of, y’know, tragic causalities of a war she started. She plays up her sad backstory to try to get Byleth to join with her in WC, but then she does all these things to concentrate as much power as possible on herself. On the other (other) hand, she pushes the culpability of the war on everyone except herself, and has trouble taking accountability. She’s obsessed with controlling everything but she doesn’t want to be blamed for the problems she’s created. What do you think?

I find Supreme Leader hard to write because of this, but in a way, I believe that yes, she does.

However, for all the flak Faerghus gets for "ToXiC mAsCuLiNiTy" and "Chivalry BaD", there's something very toxic with the way some Adrestian victims (often women... blame the writers I guess?) deal with their abuse.

I'm not going to spend a lot of time on Doro because I already typed a lot about her, but while she still sees herself as a victim from what she endured and suffered in her childhood, she adopted the toxic mindset of "this suffering is a thing of the past and I grew from that/beyond that to become the person I am now" - which we can also see in Manu who suffered from, roughly, the same traumas.

Petra also follows this pattern, being a hostage and treated like shit, but she grow "beyond" her status of a victim to become the strong person she projects and believes she is - it's only out of House that she realises more accutely her status within the Empire, the reality of her situation and, in Houses, refuses vassalage to Adrestia to make her country independent without having to "ask the Emperor".

It's the same pattern : "I was a victim" but "I became strong" so "I am not a victim anymore, this is something of the past".

Applied to Supreme Leader...

Well, trying to ignore the Agarthans and her dad's own infuence on her character (which is kind of hard, since the games try their hardest to make Agarthans responsible for everything BaD and we're not clear on how much they had an influence on her), I think Supreme Leader believes she was a "victim" of abuse.

But - through further abuse and surviving said abuse - she became strong* enough to "not be a victim anymore".

Which is why her line of "if the weak remain weak it's their fault" feels like it echoes part of her mindset : she was a victim but became strong enough, maybe by hardening her own feelings to become "strong", so she is not the same helpless "victim" she once was.

If she managed to do that, then everyone can do the same.

As for the "necessary sacrifices", since early 2019 someone theorised that "the people" she pretends the fight for as seen as some general "concept", much like the "greater good". So if some people are sacrificed, it's for her ideals - the goal and aim of her newfound strength - , and it piles on her drive, she must realise them otherwise those people would have died (and she would have suffered) for nothing.

However, despite acknowledging her past self as a victim, and because she's now "strong", she's not above using her past trauma (but actually, still present! Remember the rat scene?) to reach her goals, because, at her core, Supreme Leader is soemone who is very determined. Maybe it's her only drive to grow beyond the trauma, or her own illusions, or a mix of everything, but AM made it clear, Supreme Leader is not above, well, using herself if it means seeing her goals come to fruition : unlike Lobotogard from AG, AM!Supreme Leader willingly transforms in Hegemongard.

This is the cost she's willing to pay, so while the memes about Lord Farqaad were on spot, I still think that Supreme Leader is ultimately willing to sacrifice** herself for her goal (but only when there's no other way to ensure her future will come to fruition, and in a way, I guess she thought she would survive the Hegemon transformation, jury's out on what she meant to do in AM's finale, but imo, she still tried, even beaten and battered as she was, to claim Dimi's head).

Ultimately I think everything's a bit muddled by the fact that, as @fantasyinvader pointed out, Supreme Leader is a liar and knows the importance of maintening good PR.

She lies and manipulates the truth to reach her goals (which again, is a red flag when CF claims to want to restore the "distorted history" of Fodlan!) and for all the flak I give them, the devs managed to scrap enough material to give us a peek in Adrestia's mindset (or at least its top nobles), they're not people who self reflect, they are salty because they aren't ruling the world anymore, and they feel like they are better than the rest of Fodlan.

Put everything in the mixer, and you indeed have Supreme Leader (but also her court, especially Ferdie in SB who dares to say, as he is invading and trouncing people who don't really like and accept the idea of being invaded, that the fear those people feel are only in their mind, or something like that? Like, dude, you're rolling over their people and country, of course they'll fear and hate you!) giving her weird rhetoric lines (why are people opposing me if they are going to die?), victim blaming (something Treehouse swallowed like honey, if their lolcalisation is anything to go by, remember, it's Rhea's fault for not offering her head on a platter that is the reason why the War continues in CF!) and so on.

IDK if the devs wanted to bank that much on the Dany parallel with her "if I look back i am lost", but again, I don't know if her drive to make a "better Fodlan" is motivated by her trauma, Adrestian revanchism, Ionius telling her dumb things or Agarthans agarthaning, but her goal and vision are everything to Supreme Leader.

So she will do anythign to see them realised, even if it means sacrificing her people, starting a war, tweaking "the truth" or using her own trauma to motivate and recruit powerful people who might assist her with her goals.

To reply to your question, IMO she sees herself as someone who had once been a victim, but won't let that stop her from reaching her goals, even if it means creating thousands of "hers" in the process, because, in her mind, reaching her goal is more important than anything else.

*I know, she refutes Dimitri's claim that she is "strong" or laughs at it, but imo, it was more in the sense of "I was weak and became strong" so everyone can "become" strong.

**I don't think she wanted to throw away her life, but more something in the lines of "putting my life on the line" or sacrificing her precious (and to see how precious it is, just play CF lol) humanity.

In Chapter 40 Kunikida says his Ideal was born when he realised that someone dying right infront of him wasnt an ideal world. However he has his Ideal notebook (or variants of it) in Kunikida and Katai’s Magnificent Days which is set at least three or so years before the events of canon.

Limitations are minimal, but include two things.

For one, I will not accept submissions of proship pairings. This means no family x family, and no adult x minor ships. Family x victim is allowed. I would prefer no explicit non-con either.

For two, please only make content for the first two films and the 2023 game. I don’t know the others or their characters well enough to find everyone’s content if it is not at least focused on The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 1974, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre part 2, or TCM Game. This is to give everyone a fair shot at being seen.

More than 700 people were killed in the Gaza Strip in just 24 hours, the Health Ministry in the besieged territory said Sunday, as Israeli bombings escalated following a brief pause and wider evacuation orders stoke fears of wider displacement and carnage.

According to an Al-Jazeera dispatch:

Overnight and into Sunday, intense bombing was reported in Khan Younis, Rafah, and some northern parts targeted by Israel's air and ground attacks. "Everywhere you turn to, there are children with third-degree burns, shrapnel wounds, brain injuries and broken bones," James Elder, UNICEF's global spokesperson, told Al Jazeera from Gaza. "Mothers crying over children who look like they are hours away from death. It seems like a death zone right now."

The Israel Defense Force (IDF) has been dropping evacuation leaflets across the south of Gaza in cities that include Khan Younis, Rafah, and others neighborhoods where many had been told to flee by Israel prior to the recent week-long pause.

The IDF is now using a wholly invented "grid system" to tell Palestinians in Gaza which sectors might be safe and which ones will not, leading to reports of widespread confusion on the ground for those trying to keep themselves and their families safe from the indiscriminate bombing.

"What Israel is doing in Gaza right now is one of the most cruel tactics of war I've ever seen," said Rohan Talbot, director of advocacy and campaigns for the U.K.-based Medical Aid Palestine, on Sunday. "This grid system effectively means people are being chased from square to square, in constant mortal fear. Bombing happens both inside and outside 'unsafe' areas. It's terrorism."

"And they say it's about protecting civilians! People in Gaza are saying they hope to die just to be free from the fear!" Talbot declared. "I use the word terrorism in its specific sense: using violence to intimidate civilians for political aims. Israeli leaders don't hide that this is what they are doing."

In a statement on Sunday, U.N. Human Rights Chief Volker Türk called for an end of the new wave of bombardents and a return to the talks that saw Israeli and Palestinian hostages freed and an increase in humanitarian aid allowed into Gaza.

"Silence the guns and return to dialogue—the suffering inflicted on civilians is too much to bear. More violence is not the answer. It will bring neither peace nor security," Türk said.

"As a result of Israel's conduct of hostilities and its orders for people to leave the north and parts of the south, hundreds of thousands are being confined into ever smaller areas in southern Gaza without proper sanitation, access to sufficient food, water and health supplies, even as bombs rain down around them,” he added "There is no safe place in Gaza."

Last week, it was reported that the Israeli military is using artificial intelligence to help generate bombing targets, a situation described as "dystopian" and the "first AI-facilitated genocide in history."

Horrifying scenes were evident across Gaza over the weekend as witnesses shared footage of children killed by the bombings along with the heartbreak and cries of survivors:

In the north, the Jabilia refugee camp, the largest in the Gaza Strip, was bombed again on Saturday.

"More than 100 Palestinians were killed Saturday in a new massacre committed by Israeli occupation forces in the Jabalia refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip," the official Palestinian news agency Wafa reported.

The agency said an Israeli missile hit a residential building belonging to the "Obaid family in Jabalia camp" and that "dozens were injured, and many others are still missing under the rubble," in that strike alone.

Meanwhile, Medicin Sans Frontier/MSF doctors reported their rescue vehicles, despite being clearly marked, were targeted by Israeli tanks.

Jason Lee, the Palestine country director for Save the Children, who was in Rafah on Friday, told the Guardian newspaper that what's being witnessed is a fresh population transfer in a country where 1.7 million people—out of an approximate total of 2.3 million—have already been displaced, with most now frantically trying to find safety in the south.

"How is it possible for people to move again? For many, this is not their first evacuation. The scale and scope of this is unprecedented," he said.

Roxo opens his eyes, he finds himself in a void.

"What the hell am i doing here..." He groans, his voice echoes throughout the whole place...

He sits up, then stands on his two feet.

Turning his head around, eyes darting to different spots, looking for an exit or at least a path to follow, he finds nothing but more void...

It's until the 5 minutes– that felt like 5 hours– have ended, that he randomly spots a door. A familiar door in the middle of nowhere?

"The fuck? I know that door... Kinda." Roxo looks down on the floor, waiting for something... "Soooo when's the weird dream spotlight showing the path cliche coming up?"

As he said that, the spotlight did come up and lights the path towards the door. One by one, they turn on.

"I guess i'm a wizard now. Cool..." He spoke in a emotionless tone. He's got no time for jokes. Not anymore. Never again.

Never again.

Roxo walks up to the door, examining it closely due to it's familiarity...

It's the door to her bedroom.

"This is... This is Yutsi's bedroom door... Arceus no."

Roxo has no choice.

He grips onto the handle, and turns it around. Slowly.

"Please don't be what i'm thinking it's gonna be, please..." He repeats himself again and again while turning the handle around.

He closes his eyes and pushes the door open just as quickly, running inside. The door closes behind him the second he ran into the room.

He opens one eye a little, then both at the same time. Surprise surprise.

It's just a lone tv with a VHS tape player.

There's a tape on her bed. It's labeled "YOU MIGHT NEED THIS"

Roxo has no choice.

He grabs the tape and looks at it with disgust. So much disgust.

"I still hate you, y'know that?" Roxo growls to the tape as if it were alive and listening. It's not, but Roxo doesn't care. He stopped caring a long time ago.

He inserts the tape into the tape player and sits on the bed to watch.

It's 5 seconds of static before the screen is filled with blue.

In the middle of the screen, yellow IMPACT font text fades into view. It reads "AZYFORA DIAZEPAM"

"Wha..?" Roxo looks behind himself to find

Roxo stares horrified at the sight of the sight of his sister, mangled and brutalised, bloody and torn apart, her guts hanging from the gruesome opening in her belly and her heart held up by a mysterious yet familiar entity.

He screams in the horror of what he sees with his own eyes, and runs towards the door, pushing the undead floating body of his sister out of his way.

"WHY DO YOU RUN FROM ME, ROXO?" The body spoke, her voice sounding as if speaking through a phone, and her voice sounding masculine too, "IT'S JUST YOUR SISTER WHO WANTS A BIG WARM HUG~"

"SHUT THE FUCK UP!" Roxo yelled as he ran, only now realizing the void is not a void anymore, but rather a slaughter house, where he finds bodies upon bodies of exact copies of him, his sister and his cousins. Cut open, torn in half, flayed, decapitated, skinned, in pieces, lacking organs, bones in the sinks, hands and feet hung about just like the bodies, it's EVERYWHERE.

One body stood up in front of Roxo, making him jump, one of Sapphire's many bodies, holding a plate of CC limbs and brain on one hand and a fork in the other. "WOULD YOU LIKE A TASTE?" It spoke in a cheery tone, before shoving a limb into his mouth. Roxo spat it out and kicked the body away, "NO THANK YOU", and he continued running through the horrors and away from the floating body of Yutsi.

At the end of the line he finds a door, a white door as if from a mansion. He opens it and slams it shut the second he stepped foot into the other side, Yutsi having gotten dangerously close and thus her arm split from her body upon the impact of the door, falling onto the ground.

Roxo breathed heavily from the adrenaline and horror from it all, leaning on the door... The previously mentioned arm began to crawl and climb up Roxo like a spider, and soon after he screams one more time before it's thrown back down and stomped, killing the last threat.

He leans on the door once more before sitting down, again breathing heavily from everything, his eyes closed...

...

OPEN YOUR EYES, DARLING.

"I know who you are. I'm not doing that..." He says under his breath.

As he repeated the word, Roxo had reached his limit and opened his eyes to see the freakshow in front of him.

"Fuck do you WANT?!" He yells before realizing what he's looking at, and gasping.

He sits up awake on his bed, clutching his blanket and chest, breathing heavily as if he couldn't no longer.

He looks at his hands, and finds... Nothing. No blood, no flesh, no viscera, nothing. Nothing.

It was just a nightmare... Fuckin' dammit.

He chuckles, his hands on his face as the chuckling quickly turns into sobbing. Sobbing. Crying.

The sights he's seen will never leave his head, will they?
