I found probably the grail of my Eureka 7 collection...the Collectible cards. I bought an entire box and very thankfully managed to pull all of the SP cards alongside two entire full set of the normal cards💙 I'll post pictures of the other cards later!

Some Tweets Remember Keiji Fujiwara
Keiji Fujiwara died of cancer at the age of 55. The news was devastating for the seiyuu community. Many seiyuu are remembering and looking back on their times with Fujiwara and the impact he made on them. A lot of anime I’ve watched wouldn’t have been the same without Fujiwara. From Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood to Dr. Stone, he shaped a lot of characters that I look back and smile thinking about.

Taketatsu Ayana (Taketatsu and Fujiwara both voiced characters in Dagashi Kashi and co hosted a series of bonus videos released with the Blu-rays of the series)
Fujiwara Keiji-san.
When we had a photograph session together for a TV show, even though you said, "I'm shy, so I can't really talk much," after the session started and I was nervous you kindly threw me a lifeline and chatted with me a lot, and even at live events and such you've saved me so much.
I wanted to spend more time with you.
I wanted to thank you directly.
_______
Seki Tomokazu (Seki and Fujiwara both voiced characters for the same series several times including PSYCHO-PASS, Sengoku BASARA, and Hajime no Ippo)
The way you looked when you came to the studio with your script sticking out of your back pocket was so cool, and I often copied you. When we went to karaoke together, I would put on a song that had a video of your acting as a prank and put you in a bind so many times. I wanted to play around with you again. This feels too soon... Fujiwara-san. Truly, thank you for everything.
_______
Ogata Megumi
I've had the honor of working with you on various, many sets but... my strongest impression, is actually not from an anime, but from the drama CD "Radical Hospital".
Dr. Sakaki... Please say it's a joke like you always do...?
Fujiwara Keiji-san. Truly, thank you for everything. Please rest peacefully.
_______
Ise Mariya (Ise and Fujiwara both voiced main characters in HUNTER X HUNTER, and Ise references Fujiwara's role as Leorio in this tweet)
What I remember is His white shirt and the sunglasses he wore His gallant figure standing before the microphone His bashful smile when having friendly conversations His stylish behavior when everyone goes drinking Both his voice and his acting were so cool Everything about him was wonderful
Keiji-san really felt like Leorio to me I have so many pleasant and fun memories Thank you so much
_______
Shimazaki Nobunaga
Fujiwara Keiji-san, I pray from my heart that you rest in peace.
_______
Morikubo Showtaro
The tears won't stop.
_______
Inoue Marina
His voice, his acting, his smile, I loved them all.
_______
Park Romi (Park and Fujiwara both voiced important characters in Fullmetal Alchemist)
He just recovered...
Be it with Hagane, or Muji, or FA he was everyone's older brother...
He truly was Lieutenant Colonel Hughes.
Early Far too early...
Kei-chan You fought hard against what ailed you... Please rest well...
Your casual comments Even now I treasure.
Tonight I honor you...
I pray you rest in peace...
Notes: I'm not positive, but I believe in regards to the second line
"Hagane" likely refers to the first airing of Fullmetal Alchemist in 2003 that used the title 「鋼の錬金術師」 (Hagane no Renkinjutsushi).
"Muji" seems like it refers to Zoids, the first Zoids anime series that is often referred to colloquially as "Muji Zoids", "No Label Zoids", to differentiate it from other Zoid series. In this series, Fujiwara voiced Irvine, a main supporting character and older brother figure to the main characters.
"FA" likely refers to the second airing of Fullmetal Alchemist in 2009 that used the titled 「鋼の錬金術師 FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST」 and thus is sometimes referred to as "FA".
_______
Hanae Natsuki
This is too sad...
_______
Toshiyuki Toyonaga
My heart aches... The words won't come out...
_______
Inoue Kazuhiko
Eh, Fujiwara Keiji... No way. It's too early. I remembered well the times we worked together in the studio. It's too early. I'm so saddened.
_______
Kaji Yuuki (Kaji and Fujiwara both voiced characters for the same series several times including Magi and Shingeki no Kyojin)
Keiji-san. I wanted to talk with you more. Wouldn't it be wonderful if I had a father like you, if I could become a man like you, that kind of stuff, always, I thought to myself... I should have told you so. I wanted to talk with you more. I'm full of regret. I want to see you.
_______
Yasumoto Hiroki
Words don't suffice. He was cool. Truly. We had talked about him visiting my place and drinking some unopened wine.
_______
Nakata Jouji First tweet, and reply
He was shy and gave off the impression that he didn't like superficial relationships, but when I tried talking to him he replied with a bashful smile, that's what I recall. When I heard he returned to work and was doing independent work, I thought on my own that he was doing well, but... You must have had it hard, huh. However, you weren't the kind of person to say that out loud... You stayed true to yourself until the very end. I pray for you.
I wanted to meet with you and talk with you again.
_______
Konishi Katsuyuki
No way. When I was a fledgling, because his place was in the neighborhood he invited me for a meal, and I was really happy about that. I wanted to meet with you again.
_______
Shouta Aoi
I can no longer meet you again. By all means, I wanted to meet you again.
Just how much encouragement I received from the acting of that wonderful voice I grew accustomed to hearing from a young age.
From now on and always that wonderful voice of yours will remain in our hearts and ears.
Thank you for all the wonderful times you gave us.
_______
Ono Kensho
Fujiwara Keiji-san. He really is cool, and he is someone I look up to. We have the same birthday, and on my own I felt like we had an affinity... I pray from my heart that you rest in peace.
_______
Hidaka Noriko
Fujiwara-san...
I thought I could meet you again someday at the studio, truly unfortunate.
Thank you for everything. Please rest in peace...
_______
Tanaka Rie
Fujiwara Keiji-san...
The last time we met was during the recording for the Granblue Fantasy game...
I pray from my heart that you rest in peace.
_______
Inoue Kikuko
Kei-chan, I'm so sad.
You fought against illness for a long time... You truly gave it your all. Please rest well in heaven.
I won't forget your shy, bashful, and kind smile.
_______
Koshimizu Ami (Koshimizu and Fujiwara both voiced important characters in Eureka 7, and Koshimizu references her role as Anemone and Fujiwara's role as Holland in this tweet, as well as Tsujitani Kouji who voiced Dewey Novak in Eureka 7 and passed away in 2018)
Dewey and Holland, please stay a little longer.
I want you to stay. I wanted you to stay.
If you're not there, we can't fly freely...
Because you were there, we were able to live freely.
Thank you but I still don't want to say goodbye.
Sorry that Anemone is like this. If I could say one selfish thing please come back...
_______
Han Megumi (Han and Fujiwara both voiced main characters in HUNTER X HUNTER, and Han references Fujiwara's role as Leorio in this tweet)
Just last night, during HUNTER's rebroadcast, we just saw off Leorio as he departed for his trip, Fujiwara-san.
Family and comrade, always thinking of his friends and a warm man, a perfect fit, my beloved senpai.
Always with the message title "Miss lovely forehead"

Forever, and ever...
_______
Arisa Komiya
Fujiwara Keiji-san. I had the honor of working with you for 1 year on Go-Busters, you were always so cool on set, it was my first dubbing experience and I learned so much from you. I wanted to work with you again. I pray from my heart that you rest in peace.
_______
Ryotaro Okiayu
I participated in "Hoshi Koe" at the Saitama venue last year, and you attended, Fujiwara-san.
I read your letters.
The last time I met you was back stage there.
It had been several years before then.
That's how it goes.
Thanks so much for everything.
Note: Hoshi Koe is the name of a series of events held in Japan by AIR AGENCY, a talent management and production company founded by Fujiwara Keiji in 2006.
_______
Kenjiro Tsuda
His white shirt His light colored sunglasses His cynical smile His casual way of walking into the studio His unshaven face His still shadow at Planetarium His husky voice His retreating figure as he left His appearance in a coat when he slowly spoke in his last moments
was cool
Thank you so much
Note: Planetarium is likely also referencing Hoshi Koe, which was held at planetariums in various cities in Japan.
_______
Yamamoto Nozomi
We acted together for the first time in UN-GO, and a while later when I greeted you at another set, you remembered me, saying, "I've met you before, right?" After that, when on the set for Utawarerumono you noticed my Ironman iPhone case and chatted with me, I was truly happy about each and every thing. I pray that you rest in peace.
_______
Kondo Kanako
I can't believe it. I really liked your cool roughness. Fujiwara-san. I pray that you rest in peace.
_______
Kudou Haruka
Is it because of the air pressure that my head hurts, or because I cried too much that my head hurts, I can't sort out my feelings. However, more than these sad feelings, I want to say so many times, "thank you."
Fujiwara-san.
We were together for my seiyuu debut work "Honey and Clover", and from there with "Noein" and "DEATH NOTE", our work together continued. I didn't know my right hand from my left, and you gave me so much advice.
On set you always spoiled me, listening to my trivial chatter with a smile.
I entered college, and even when I cut off all ties to the industry up to that point and distanced myself from work, every half a year you would send me a message asking "Are you doing all right?"
I entered my fourth year of college, and when I said to you, "I want to return to work!" you got a little angry, but you earnestly heard me out. Even though I caused trouble to a lot of people, you saying "Welcome Back!" with a smile has always supported me.
4 years after returning to work, when I was worried that I wasn't doing as well as I had hoped, you said "It'll be all right!" and gave me a push on the back, and I was able to move forward.
I really have been spoiled by you for so so long.
You taught me so many things, I couldn't hope to write them all out. About acting, about movies, about novels, about life.
Even now I still have the novel I received from you right on my bookshelf. From now on, every time I watch a Kubrick or Victor Erice movie, I feel I will remember you.
The fact that there will no longer be replies to my messages, and the fact that I can no longer see you, really really make me sad, but you will always be in my heart. It's all right. I'm an adult now, too. I want to become an adult like you, someone who is loved by many, and someone who can guide others.
Thank you so much.
_______
Harada Hitomi (Harada and Fujiwara both voiced characters for Senran Kagura, and Harada references Fujiwara's role as Kiriya in this tweet)
Keiji-san. Kiriya-sensei.
I've been helped, so much by you. Thank you so much.
_______
Tomita Miyu
Fujiwara Keiji-san, I had the honor of acting together with you for the first time in Kotobuki Hikoutai. Warm, and yet mischievous, I truly loved acting with that voice of yours.
I pray from my heart that you rest in peace.
_______
Hatano Wataru
Fujiwara Keiji-san. Across various works, I've been in your debt. When you called me for "Hoshi Koe", I was really happy. The warm advice from a senpai I look up to, and the smile after a recording session. I couldn't possibly forget. I pray that you rest in peace.
_______
Abe Atsushi
I've been in your debt since when I debuted. I see... We can't act together anymore...
_______
Mimori Suzuko
I'm thankful that I had the honor of working on the same set as you. Thank you so much.
_______
Tanaka Atsuko
It's a sad sunset...
_______
Suzaki Aya
I'm truly saddened.
_______
Ohara Sayaka
It's a lie
_______
Imai Asami
............
_______
Hirakawa Daisuke
Keiji-san... Keiji-san... I'm so sad... I want to see you... Keiji-san...
Hirakawa Daisuke
_______
Akao Hikaru (Akao and Fujiwara both voiced characters for Back Street Girls, and Akao references this in this tweet)
I'm still in disbelief even after a new day has dawned and I can't quite get the right words. I feel like a hole opened up in my heart. Since I was young through anime you showed me this fun world and as a member of Gokudols, I looked forward to the day I could meet you again.
I pray that you rest well.
_______
Ishikawa Yui (Ishikawa and Fujiwara both voiced characters for Shingeki no Kyojin, and Ishikawa references Fujiwara's role as Hannes in this tweet)
[Yui] That voice that I heard so many times when I was a child. Shingeki's Hannes-san was also, rough, cool, and warm... I loved him. Fujiwara Keiji-san, I pray that you rest in peace.
_______
Yukana
I wanted to act together with you more.
Thank you so much...
I pray that you rest in peace.
_______
Okamoto Nobuhiko
Title: I'm sorry
I was planning to talk about trust and play today, but I hope you'll allow me to do that tomorrow.
I had the honor of doing my first radio show with him. When I was unable to speak well, he laughed at me. When we were recording for the Ao no Exorcist movie and from the start all I was capable of was shouting, he laughed at me. When I kept wearing the same clothes on the set of To Aru, he laughed at me. When I look back on things, it might have been sarcastic laughing, but I only remember the figure of him laughing. And, I'm sorry for causing you so much trouble.
His appearance as an actor, the way he thought about and interpreted the script, what he brought forth, I received so much encouragement and experience from him.
Keiji-san, Truly, truly, thank you so much. I really I love you.
Thank you for everything.
I pray from my heart that you rest in peace.
Notes:
The radio show Okamoto references I believe is "Sorairo Radio", a radio show promoting the anime "Sola" that aired from 2007/3/30 to 2007/7/27 for 19 episodes. During the month of July Okamoto and Fujiwara co-hosted the show.
Okamoto and Fujimura voiced Okamura Rin, the protagonist, and Fujimoto Shiro, Rin's adoptive father, respectively in Ao no Exorcist.
Okamoto and Fujimura voiced Accelerator, a main supporting character, and Kihara Amata, something of a mentor figure to Accelerator, respectively in To Aru Majutsu no Index.

Title: The carnation that arrived at my house 2 weeks ago ☆
At my last place, even plants said to be robust I ended up letting die (>_<) However, ever since I started living at my new place my plants have been really lively! My care for flowers especially has gotten better! Proper ventilation and sunlight really are important after all (laugh)
https://www.mizukinana.jp/blog/photos/2020/blog/nana_phot_20200416.jpg
I found out about Fujiwara Keiji passing away. I had the honor of working together with him for various works, during my first public performance at Tokyo Dome he provided wonderful narration, and at the planetarium in my home prefecture I had the honor of performing together with him... Truly I was blessed with so many irreplaceable experiences. I pray from my heart that you rest in peace.
Notes:
The performance at Tokyo Dome is referencing NANA MIZUKI LIVE CASTLE 2011, a series of live concerts performed at Tokyo Dome by Mizuki Nana on 2011/12/3 and 2011/12/4. Fujiwara provided narration for a short film called PLANETARIUM "Princess Nana of the Heavens" (PLANETARIUM「天界の奈々姫」) which was shown during the concert on both days.
The performance at the planetarium is referencing when Fujiwara and Mizuki co-starred in a Hoshi Koe performance held on 2016/4/24 at the Matsuyama City General Community Center Cosmo Theater. Matsuyama is the capital of the Ehime Prefecture, and Mizuki Nana was born in Niihama, Ehime. Mizuki had also made two blog posts about enjoying rehearsing for the event with Fujiwara and celebrating the successful completion of the event.

Morikawa Toshiyuki
Title: Fujiwara Keiji-san...
Fujiwara Keiji-san... I pray you rest in peace.
It's too sudden. My mind is a mess. Even though I'm someone who works at my own pace... ... Right now, I'm overcome with feelings of loss.
From the time when I was a newcomer, we've been walking together through the ages for over 30 years. As an actor, and as a president, you were truly a friend... Since you were young you were shy and cool, overflowing with chivalry, an existence that even men were charmed by that is "Fujiwara Keiji"
..., It's so painful... the words won't come out. I'm sorry.
I feel that you really must have had it tough fighting against your illness. Now, please rest well.
And, the letters you sent me I will always cherish.
Morikawa Toshiyuki
_______
Hino Satoshi
Title: Keiji-san...
Keiji-san... It's a lie, right...? It's a joke, right...?
This... is too sad...
Keiji-san as a person, as a man, as an actor, you were someone who I respected from the bottom of my heart.
Everything about you was cool, you were someone I admired.
I wanted to learn more and more about various things from you.
Even now I clearly remember the time when on the set of the anime "Shakugan no Shana," as the role of the father, Kantarou, you kindly covered up for and accepted my terrible acting.
Keiji-san, "Dad, thank you so much for everything up to now"
While reflecting on each and every thing I learned from you, I will devote myself towards the sake of the future of the seiyuu industry.
I pray you rest in peace.
Note: Hino and Fujimura voiced Sakai Yuuji, the protagonist, and Sakai Kantarou, Yuuji's father, respectively in Shakugan no Shana.

Title: Letter
I hate the idea of something getting overshadowed without anyone knowing about it, so I will write about it here.
Since we first met when I was 19, I've been in your debt for a long time. Since before we started having work together, you'd hear out my concerns and give me advice, and go along with my selfish requests to take me along for drinks. Even though you'd always say, "Waddaya want now, Tattsun," you'd always keep your promises. Whenever we met at the studio you'd always be giving off a pleasant, lazy mood. When you were the sound director you'd say things like "Tattsun, you're the only person I can ask for this," things that I couldn't tell if you were being serious or not. It's only now that I can say this, but I took you seriously every time, and every time I was seriously happy you asked me. The fact that you said those things to me.
Sometimes I'd tell you about how people say that our voices or our acting are similar, and even though you'd reply by saying stuff like, "What? That's gross," behind your sunglasses I could see that the look in your eyes always softened happily. I like chatting in the smoking area, so anytime I'd spot you I'd head straight there. When you'd say, "Yo!" to me, it was a little embarrassing, but I was always happy you did.
I won't talk about acting. That's something I'll keep locked away in my heart.
I know you had it tough. However, I stopped talking about it. Since you hate that.
All I can remember, is you always saying, "Yo! Tattsun," every time you saw me. Gimme a break, let me remember something else, too.
Thank you for always listening to my selfish requests. Thank you for always listening to both my trivial ramblings and my serious talks.
I always thought you were an annoyingly cool old man. You were always the best. You were always the strongest.
Everything about you is cool. So I envy you.
When I go over there, I'm gonna have a ton of stories for you. Before I do, please make sure to find some good sake and tobacco over there. It might take a while, but I'm definitely going to have, a ton I want to talk to you about.
It's about time I wrapped things up. This is a letter that will never be read by its recipient, after all, so there's no point in going on for too long.
Let's meet again with a smile. Anytime, anywhere.
With love.

This is my Gundam Build Divers OC-
Alright, I’ve already jokingly made an OC- Leo Greatfang, who pilots a straight build Leo and knows the 48 Killer Moves- Finishing Move 01, Finishing Move 02... etc. They’re all wrestling moves, if you still haven’t caught the referen-
Anyway, Gundam Build Divers episode 23 had a really bad fight scene between two mooks and Riku, where Riku loses his full armor to a surprise attack, gets called selfish, curb stomps the mooks, and then cries- implicitly promising he won’t destroy GBN, and explicitly promising to save Sarah. And I thought... how could we make that better, without changing anything else about the show? I mean, it is an isolated mook fightscene, so this is one area we can change without affecting anything else. Also, my muse is telling me to write, and I want to write about mobile suits.
Well, the easy answer is, make the fight more animated- with less “stills,” less beams. But that would add to the cost of production, so let's presume they’re saving their budget, and assume any fight scene we do make can’t be that well animated. A better answer would be, have the Tequila Gundam we saw in, like, episode 4 show up and have the pilot go “can’t let you do that kid...” This allows Riku to curbstomp an enemy he had troubles fighting at the start of the show, showing his growth, and allows the Tequila Gundam pilot to show that he too cares about GBN- which makes sense considering how much he worked to rank up.
But, that’s still fairly shallow. The ideal fightscene would have an opponent who really truly cares about GBN, but who isn’t too hamfisted about it. So let me introduce my Gundam Build Divers OC-
Daryl Lorenz. Well, not the real Daryl Lorenz, but rather, someone with his face. We only ever see him from the chest up, and he doesn’t wear the Zeon uniform. Thanks to the Colasour easter egg, this doesn’t interfere with the narrative at all, especially for kids who probably have not watched Gundam Thunderbolt. Anyone who has watched Thunderbolt can connect Rommel’s line about “some people can only walk in GBN” if they think about it hard enough, but as this is already simply a reference, it becomes a “Eureka!” moment for discovering it, and not hamfisted characterization/moralization.
Anyway, let’s handle the fight scene. Daryl doesn’t speak all that much, no “you’re being selfish” to undermine his point. And we only see his face when he gives a battle cry near the end of the fight. But I’m getting ahead of myself.
Daryl pilots a Zudah painted Orange and Yellow. You could call it the “living dead” Zudah, as the Zudah is likely an MS that would be used by the living dead squadron, but if I had to give it a name it would be the Pheonix Zudah. All the standard armaments of the Zudah, plus it appears to have two Vulcans coming from the chest. More on that later.
If there’s anything Star Wars Episode 7 taught me anything, it’s that mooks who defy being cannon fodder are cool. And so, Daryl gets Riku’s attention by shouting “You!” at him, before landing on the ground with a thud and throwing his ranged weapons aside. He pulls out a HEAT Hawk, and assumes a stance. One-on-one baby. Not only is this cool to me, a melee freak, it implicitly gives Riku a choice- to try and run past a mobile suit with no ranged options, or to fight him. Logically, if he wants to “win,” he would try to avoid getting bogged down. However, that would go against the whole reason to have a force battle- to let the Gunpla decide things. And so, Riku fights. And by that I mean, lands and draws a beam saber before we cut to a different scene.
Now, as an aside, I said this scene wouldn’t change anything else about the show, but if the creators planned all this out ahead of time- you’d see the brightly painted Pheonix Zudah in the background as part of the big Coalition Battle against the Break Decal users that happened earlier in the series. This would cement Daryl’s passion in the “You!” he shouts, as he had seen the wings of light firsthand. It also adds a layer of perceived betrayal. That is, if you sifted through the series with a fine-toothed comb.
Back to Riku’s scene- a still where Riku and Daryl are having a beam saber-HEAT hawk clash, and Riku is able to keep Daryl at bay. So, after Daryl jumps back, we see the Zudah freeze (gotta save that animation budget) in a “DBZ powerup stance,” and then the afterburners kick in- the Zudah engine roaring.
Now, Riku doesn’t know much about the more obscure mobile suits, that’s Yuuki’s domain; but he is smart/intuitive enough to recognize when someone is about to go all out. We hear his thoughts (because he’ll likely vocalize it), as contemplates whether to use TRANS-AM to counter, but decides against it, as using it too soon would make winning the force battle impossible. However, while he’s contemplating, we see the Zudah swing his arm back, flipping out the blade on top of the shield, and charging straight at Riku. Ideally, we’d see a still of the Zudah flying straight ahead, with the legs “obscured” by the body- more on that later, the shield blade lodging itself into the 00 Sky’s full armor, and then a cut to Riku’s cockpit.
Now, we know there is one technique the Zudah can use in GBN that would be too prohibitively expensive to use in Gunpla Duel. That is, the nature of the Zudah to self-destruct due to the engine. This choice of mobile suit, then, furthers Daryl’s characterization two-fold. He is grateful to GBN, because it’s the only place where the Zudah can realize its true potential, so he is willing to use his mobile suit to the fullest and sacrifice it to protect GBN. This is in stark contrast to Riku, who would refuse to use TRANS-AM if it “hurt” the mobile suit- and still wears a scar in memoriam of the 00-Diver.
Speaking of Riku, he’s a smart lad. Intuitively, he knows that trading 1-for-1 in this situation effectively makes it his loss. He‘s realized, or at the very least, can assume Daryl’s plan is to self-destruct and jettisons the full armor, allowing him to escape the blast zone as it goes off. Riku starts to apologize, but then we see Vulcan fire dispersing the smoke cloud.
Meet the Raptor, the lower half of the Pheonix Zudah. It’s basically a cockpit with legs. And, of course, those two chest Vulcans we mentioned earlier. That’s right, we using Bawoo technology with this custom! Except, the Bawoo had the legs be the automated part, and gave the legs a hilariously stupid name. Anyway, the cockpit does a minor transformation, folding out forward to look less like a brick on legs and more like a wingless bird. If you want a reference to visualize this, look up MechAssault’s Corvus (not, ironically enough, MechAssault’s Raptor). Anyway, the cockpit now is glass, or at least see-through, and we (and Riku) see Daryl’s face as the smoke clears.
Another scene switch. When we come back, we see 00-Sky shrugging off Vulcan fire like it’s nothing. You see, a big problem I have with the Coalition Volunteers is that they often aren’t characterized (recall that Rommel’s men are cut down without so much as a voiceline earlier in the episode) and when they are, they come off as cocky, so sure they’re going to win. As much as it pains me to say, Riku is a top pilot of GBN, and many of these Volunteers should be desperate in fighting to stop him. And so, we see Daryl’s desperate fighting spirit, using a walker whose only armaments are a desperation weapon that, in many Gundam series, can barely even scratch a Gundam. This is also where we hear, and see (because we’re zooming into a cockpit view to save animation budget), Daryl giving a battle cry. Because he doesn’t just have the Vulcans.
He has his legs. That’s right, after some fancy footwork used to avoid fire while charging, Daryl goes for a running kick- hell make it a running kick combo. If you haven’t guessed, I really like “walker”-esque mechs, and love it when mobile suits actually run instead of just flying 24/7.
“But Businessman,” you may be asking, “how can your characterization be so grossly hamfisted? Isn’t this taking the whole ‘only walk in GBN’ thing a bit too far?”
You are like little baby, listen to this.
How, do you think, is Riku going to win this battle? Is it with a beam saber? With a rifle? Or with the sky leg guards, and a “shoot” kick that sends the Raptor flying? Obviously, the last one says something, but I am not entirely clear about what it says. I think this one might be something left up to individual interpretation. Anyway, now we can have Riku crying, now that he’s earned those tears after seeing someone go all out to stop him, even if he does not over analyze the fight as much as I have.
Now, while I may have called the original fight scene bad, it wasn’t really that bad- too many people seem to love to hate Build Divers- I just wanted to see if I could make it better.
Or, at the very least, premiere my own completely original character Baryl and his cool as heck ace custom that I wish I could make-

Non-Idol Manga List
Mod Hina: I’m a heavy manga reader, so I’ve at least pursued probably 75% of this list... /sweats
Mushishi’s not on this list at all which makes me a little sad but if you’re into really well drawn manga about supernatural fantasy I’d give it a read! It’s mostly episodic and slowly reveals more info about the enigmatic protagonist over the length of the series. It’s really really good.

Berserk - 2
Bleach - 2
Mod Hina: I’ll admit, I didn’t read much of the manga.. But I did skim the last 40 or so chapters after I heard it was ending.
Bloom into You - 1
Boku no Hero Academia - 10
Mod Hina: I’m really into BNHA right now! One of the manga I keep up with on a weekly basis.
Overhaul is.. my favorite.. So is Dabi.. It’s me, Trash Lover Supreme.

Mod Hina: I also love BSD?

D.Gray-Man - 2
Death Note - 3
Mod Hina: CLASSIC. This is like one of the first manga that I finished completely. I read it all in middle school too.. My weeb phase...
Don’t talk to me about the Netflix movie.
Doraemon - 1
Dorohedoro - 1
Doukyuusei - 1
Dragonhead - 1
Fairy Tail - 3
Fate series - 1
Franken Fran - 1
Fruits Basket - 1
Mod Hina: Ah. Like Death Note, I also read Fruits Basket in middle school. This is such a nostalgia bomb for me because Fruits Basket was my first manga, iirc.
Fruits Basket actually introduced me to the idea of online scanlation groups too. I couldn’t find the last few volumes in any libraries around me, nor in any bookstores. So I resorted to downloading them online after finding out about the translations.
Fullmetal Alchemist - 1
Mod Hina: Fullmetal Alchemist is one of my all-time favorite manga and I’m very sad that it only got 1 nomination out of all of the nominations.
FMA is very poignant and deals a lot with the consequences and reality of war. It’s very good and it’s very amazing. Please read it if you can.
It’s a longer series and while I did start reading this one in middle school, unlike the others, I took longer to finish reading this. I think I finished sometime in high school.
I think this manga still holds up to the test of time, as well.
If you’re more of an anime person, the anime is really good too! I’d recommend watching the original FMA first, and then FMA:B because of the fact that FMA:B’s beginning is rushed, because it assumes that you’ve either read the manga or watched the original FMA.
The original FMA deviates from the manga canon, which is where FMA:B was made to fix that.
Please appreciate Greedling he is my favorite character of all time.
Fuuka - 2
Gakuen Babysitters - 1
Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun - 4
Mod Hina: A good, wholesome manga! I love GSNK too and it’s hilarious.
GIRLS und PANZER - Ribbon no Musha - 1
Golden Kamui - 1
Haikyuu!! - 4
Mod Hina: Another weekly read for me! I love everyone in Haikyuu so much? What a good cast, and what good character development. Even the less significant characters get a chapter or two dedicated to their character arc.

Kitchen Princess - 1
Koe no Katachi - 1
Mod Hina: I highly recommend this manga.
Another moment where I’m sad that this didn’t get that many recommendations.
It’s very realistic. Like, you’ll end up hating some characters, but that’s because they’re written to be realistic. There are people who did something wrong, who have character flaws, who know that they’re flawed, and some of them will try to change themselves, while others will disregard it because their life is fine, like in real life.
Overall the story is extremely poignant and touching. The ending is open-ended, which some people might not like, but I really enjoyed this because it’s so well written. It reflects real life, in my opinion.
Kuroshitsuji - 2
Kuzumi-kun, Kuuki Yometemasu ka? - 1
Liar Game - 1
Mod Hina: I started reading this manga years ago. At some point, the group translating it dropped the manga so there was a one year gap before anyone picked it back up, I think.
I need to finish this because I stopped at the gap, but I haven’t read it in years so I’ve forgotten what happened. My plan is to reread the whole thing, but it’s quite long so I don’t know when I’ll get around to that.
Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid - 1

Rouroni Kenshin - 1

Sakamichi no Apollo - 1
Shokugeki no Soma - 5
Mod Hina: Another weekly read for me. I mostly just like the art of food. The plot is kind of weak to me, and I legitimately got mad at the plot armor for one of the main protagonists once, haha.
Shuuen no Shiori - 2
Mod Hina: I’ve read a bit of this! I don’t think a lot of it is translated so I haven’t read beyond that.

I love Junji Ito a lot? He’s amazing and I’ve read all the works I can find from him that are translated..
Except Gyo. I have this abject rejection of Gyo for some reason.
I absolutely love the beginning of Uzumaki, although the end gets kind of weird for me.

The Chariot: Issue VI
Original Publication: 19 December 2018
The Competition Intensifies: How the Asian Age is Changing the Film Industry By: Aramis Giordano
It was the most awaited and most watched Ross Awards since it first showed in 2014. Celebrating its fifth ceremony on December 1, this year's Ross Awards was packed with celebrities gracing the prolific era known as the Asian Age. Releasing 33 films this year alone, the Asian Age solidifies its title as the most important and successful generation in the industry, warranting a very competitive awards ceremony this year. The Ross Awards did not fail to recognize the hard work these new artists have contributed into making the many movies released this year, so the committee decided to increase the number of nominated candidates for each category.
The Best Picture category had eight nominees while Best Actor saw an unprecedented seven nominees. The battle for the spot to be recognized as one of the first five Ross Awards winners was very tight, and it was clearly visible from the names listed in each category.
With 24 artists nominated for the acting categories, only two nominees were of non-Asian descent (Best Supporting Actress nominee, Persia Chapman; and Best Actor nominee, Caleb Adams). For the first time in the award ceremony's history, Vanessa Harding was not nominated for the Best Actress category for her role in In Peace and War, ending her four-year nomination streak [The Regnancy (2014), 1906 (2015), A Woman's Crusade (2016), and 1872 (2017)] - the same number of nominations as Caleb Adams [Harry Potter (2014), The Eureka Moment (2015), Devil in the White City (2016), and Valley of the Kings (2018)].
Keira Kuyama and Joanna Park solidify their careers within the industry by being nominated two years in a row - Joanna Park being nominated twice for the same role as Oh Yeonjoo in W (2017) and its sequel W2 (2018).
The rest of the nominees were given the platform to make a name for themselves this year during the rise of the Asian Saga and Tales from the East releasing eight and nine films, respectively. The prominent main actors being Lee Changnam (7 films), Beijing Lee (6 films), and Meili Wang (5 films).
The final quarter of the year saw the attempt of Hollywood Studios to release contenders for this year's Ross Awards with Valley of the Kings, Man, the Unknown, and In Peace and War. Hollywood Studios president Lawrence Harland faced criticism earlier in the year after releasing a mainly-White cast for the adaptation of the Japanese anime Tokyo Ghoul, which Lawrence eventually removed from the Ross Awards' nomination process to avoid further backlash.
Meanwhile, Lawrence's main studio rival, MC-Wylde, created a sub-studio called Cygna Entertainment to release non-Asian films, with Immortal Life being its first film, which saw itself nominated for Best Picture.
Jeong Minhyuk, having starred in eleven films this year, took home the title for Best Supporting Actor for his work in While You Were Sleeping. Girl group Caviar's Malivalaya Leechaiyapornkul was recognized as the Best Supporting Actress for her role as Saito Kyoko in The Perfect Justice.
With seven phenomenal nominees for Best Actor, Yoon Jaehwa eventually took home the crown for his debut role in Feral. Following Jaehwa's recognition, River Johnson came out to award the subsequent Best Actress winner to an announcement that the media "will pit all of us against each other". She wished for the nominees to understand this annual tactic and to know their worth - that they're great artists with or without the Ross Awards - before handing the award to Death Note: Zero's Riza Yuki for her role as Misa Amane. As expected, Riza's win was met with criticism - mainly, disappointment. The other contenders had greater chance and far more impactful portrayals in W2 (Joanna Park), Chicago Typewriter (Meili Wang), While You Were Sleeping (Moon Yoona), Meteor Garden (Jiang Yunyue), and The Town Without Me (Keira Kuyama). Riza's critics argue that Ross Awards winners are culturally-important; and Riza's portrayal of Misa Amane was the most forgettable in the sea of amazing actresses nominated in the same category as she was, the same argument used against River Johnson’s Best Actress win last year.
Death Note: Zero continued to gain more recognition in the night after its director, Itsuki Nakamura, was awarded Best Director, alongside Accidentally in Love winning Best Picture this year.
After the ceremony, critics discussed the results of this year's Ross. They argued that Heath Roux's Man, the Unknown was a solid contender for a Best Actor award, though it was released at the wrong time - the time when Asian entertainment is dominating the industry. They also mentioned how the Ross Awards mainly snubbed the non-Asian films, such as Immortal Life, In Peace and War, and Man, the Unknown with no acting nominations at all.
What is it about the Asian Age that makes it the most prolific and most influential generation of all?
With four generations (Golden Age, Post-Golden Age, Music Generation, and Stagnant Age) preceding this current one, Davis Wylde devised a formula that would prevent viewer fatigue from seeing the same actor playing the same recycled story as used in the past generations. The release of the Asian Saga and Tales from the East proved that Davis knows what he is doing - actively avoiding Spencer-McKinley Syndrome, or the recycling of the same main actor over and over. He introduced new actors for each movie so the viewers are constantly intrigued on getting to know a new celebrity once in a while. This new phenomenon lead to Asian Royalties, in which the top Asian celebrities get to top the billings for each movie that corresponds to their ethnicities. These are roughly the Chinese Meili Wang, the Korean Beijing Lee, the Japanese Mishima Kenshi, and the Indian Samar Chopra. These four royals are becoming the new and fresh faces of MC-Wylde following the rise of Keira Kuyama, Park Jungmin, and Evan Tanaka in the early days of the Asian Age.
It does not seem like the Asian Age is approaching its near end, as Davis Wylde confirmed more movies to be released earlier in 2019, such as A Chinese Ghost Story and Memories of the Alhambra. He has discussed the possibility of diverting the main goal of the new generation from producing a large number of Asian films to focusing on the production and the cultural value of each film to be released next year. "We're gearing towards quality more than quantity this time around," Davis adds.
Perhaps, this will give Lawrence a more-leveled playing field to release his contenders for the next Ross Awards; and, maybe, both Caleb Adams and Vanessa Harding might finally be recognized as Best Actor and Best Actress.
The Chariot's People of the Year By: Aramis Giordano
It has been a very important year in the film industry, and The Vanity Chariot wanted to recognize the three most influential people who contributed to the advancement of this generation in entertainment.
This award was first given to Clapton Robinson as the Generation's Phenomenon Awards and Breakthrough (GPAD) in June 10 and 30, 2012 for being the most successful artist to ever grace the industry, then. At the time of the second recognition, Clapton was recognized as the Generation's Legend for having the most albums released (4), most singles recorded (18), and most concert performance (171). The industry has advanced since then, especially with the current prolific Asian Age, which sees the rise of artists in both the film and music industries.
These are Vanity Chariot's People of the Year:
1. Davis Wylde - for pioneering the Asian Age. Davis started his career as the creator of Carlsburgh Mysteries, which premiered its first episode on February 24, 2014 as a mini show. The show later ran for two years, producing 17 seasons and two movies, even naming Chad Dylan Cooper as the first Best Actor winner of the Ross Awards. Following the end of the show, Davis released Dandridge, which continued Carlsburgh Mysteries's storyline while introducing more diversity to the story. His strive for diversifying the industry opened the door to release Sword Art Online, which lead to the rise of Keira Kuyama and the Japanese obsession, which subsequently drove the release of Death Note and Your Lie in April - both recognized by the Ross Awards for Best Picture and Best Actor (Park Jungmin, Your Lie in April) respectively. Davis later created and promoted two film series, Asian Saga and Tales from the East, that showcase Asian history, culture, and language to increase more Asian visibility in the industry. His increasing presence became the reason as to why all of the 2018 Ross Awards winners were influenced by Asian stories. Davis also wants to further incorporate all stories into the industry, not just Asians, which lead him to open Cygna Entertainment, a subsidiary of MC-Wylde. The goal of Cygna Entertainment was to play a role on telling the stories of the people neglected and forgotten by history, debuting its first film Immortal Life, telling the story of Henrietta Lacks, a Black woman whose cells were stolen by scientists to study cellular research and create vaccines and medicine.
2. Keira Kuyama - for contributing to the Asian obsession. Keira was the original face of the generation, starting the wave of Japanese obsession after starring as Asuna Yuuki in the Sword Art Online series and Kaori Miyazono in Your Lie in April. Following her hiatus, she focused mainly on releasing YouTube videos reacting to Korean pop music videos, discussing Korean dramas, and introducing her viewers to Asian food with mukbang and Asian sceneries with her travel vlogs. This piqued the interest of the mass audience, which lead to the release of Korean drama adaptations, such as Descendants of the Sun, W, and Boys Over Flowers. Keira's ways of normalizing and celebrating Asian culture worked well alongside Davis's meticulous planning to create a powerful generation that does not seem to be slowing down.
3. Evan Tanaka - for introducing Asian music to the world. Evan's musical career is unprecedented, where even Clapton Robinson himself would not be able to replicate the success he has accomplished within the past year alone. Since his musical debut, Evan has released 13 albums and 170 songs by the release of his most recent album, Ikigai: Rangaku, and having performed 285 shows by the end of his current world tour, Operation Downfall. His musical success paved the way to two girl groups, Caviar and Dames' Day, and his Chinese counterpart, Luo Weiyang.
The Struggle with Acquiring Tokyo Ghoul By: Aramis Giordano Original Publication Date: 26 December 2018
Earlier in the year, Lawrence Harland released a Hollywood remake of the Japanese anime, Tokyo Ghoul, based in Tokyo about normal citizens in Japan co-existing with ghouls who feed on human flesh. The adaptation was met with harsh critiques following the all-White casting of the main characters, especially of Ken Kaneki (Alexander Avanda), Touka Kirishima (Riella Harland), and Hideyoshi Nagachika (Romeo Foster). The results of the whitewashing incident prompted Hollywood Studios director Lawrence Harland to assign a limited release for the movie and pulled it from the nomination pool for the 2018 Ross Awards.
Since Tokyo Ghoul is a cult classic - both the manga and anime having a large following - the audience has been putting pressure on Lawrence to remake the movie with an all-Japanese cast. 2018 was a slow year for Hollywood Studios, only having produced 5 of the 33 movies released this year, in comparison to producing all of the movies released prior to 2017, the year Davis Wylde started taking over the entertainment industry. With this, Hollywood Studios has been struggling to keep up with the amount of movies produced and released by its main competitor MC-Wylde, in which Lawrence focused more of his time on the future reputation and the cultural significance of its films; remaking Tokyo Ghoul would take away time and resources that would prevent Lawrence to create a redefining movie, such as In Peace and War and Valley of the Kings. Lawrence believes in quality over quantity with his films, which is the complete opposite of Davis Wylde’s current values; although, he has discussed diverting the values of his company to match that of Lawrence Harland’s for the upcoming year.
Davis Wylde, the director of MC-Wylde, could not see himself passing on from this opportunity of a lifetime. He legally challenged Hollywood Studios to transfer him the production rights for Tokyo Ghoul, in which Lawrence adamantly rejected. This ensued a year-long legal battle between the two monster companies. As the 2018 Ross Awards were drawing to a close, Lawrence released three movies as contenders for the award show, while Davis focused his attention on acquiring the rights for his future movie series.
Following the announcement of three additional Sword Art Online movies coming within the next year, Davis secured his title of being the most influential person in the history of the entertainment industry. He found that focusing on accurate cultural and historical representation of all his films triumphs focusing on the future reputation and cultural significance of a piece. "The discussion has to be now and let time tell its reputation", Davis comments. "I find focusing on how big the cult following of a movie in the future to be a bad idea" citing that the themes presented in those movies may not resonate well with the current audience, he adds.
The legal battle for the acquisition of the rights for Tokyo Ghoul ended after Christmas this year, when Davis Wylde won the series for production under MC-Wylde. With the announcement of the acquisition, he officially declared the remake of Tokyo Ghoul and the sequels that will ensue following the second adaptation to be released in 2019. Production for the first film, renamed Tokyo Ghoul: Unravel commenced following the official announcement, with Death Note’s director Itsuki Nakamura helming the newly-revived film series, following his recognition of Best Director for Death Note: Zero in this year’s Ross Awards and last year’s Best Picture for Death Note, for an official release of February 15, 2019. Davis has kept most of its original cast, replacing the three whitewashed actors. The audience voiced their agreement and celebration following the casting of The Red Moon’s Mishima Kenshi as Ken Kaneki, replacing Alexander Avanda.
No comments have been made from Hollywood Studios at this point.
