I recently completed a data science course, and I'm looking to work from home in that field. I'm using multiple monitors, cloud services, and lots of video calls.

I have two problems I'd like to beg your assistance on, one specific and one general:

I have shitty Time Warner Cable wifi. My laptop does not have an ethernet port. How can I make my wifi connection stronger?

How can I assess whether a source offering tech advice is trustworthy or not? Alternatively, what are your go-to trusted sources?

as much as i feel like technology is getting worse i feel like you people are going full "reject modernity embrace tradition"

if i had to use a computer or a phone from the early 00s i'd kill myself. technology is clearly better more convenient and more in depth than its ever been.

im so sad my laptop has 4 ports which all can transfer data, interface with ethernet, hdmi, displayport, pcie, power delivery, audio (most laptops also still have a 3.5 jack as well), HIDs and more which can be in any orientation and configuration or order which every device now required to have a port to easily interface with it.

like say whatever you want about phones, i think most of the complaints are dumb, but computers and laptops these days are no fucking contest better than theyve ever been.

windows sucks however.
