Tw: mentions of past death and murder, suicidal ideation
Alabaster sighed, trying to ignore the gurgling of his stomach as he patrolled through Manhattan's desolate streets. It was empty, had been empty for one and a half years. The wreckage left from a long won war loomed over him like a phantom, the ghost city judging him with every step he took.
Abandoned buildings towered over the entire city, lifeless save for the occasional Monster Donut shop still crackling with vibrant lighting. The sweet smell was tempting, but no doubt an employee would report to Lord Kronos that he took a food break during his patrol.
Alabaster took a shaky breath, wedging his cane out of the crack on the asphalt it got stuck in.
His mother had finally gotten a throne. Nothing else mattered.
Maybe if he said it enough he'd start believing it.
The silence was deafening, with no signs of New York's infamous uproar.
He wondered whether Morpheus was pleased that he'd put down 'the city that never slept'.
Well. Almost put down.
Annabeth Chase, of all people, stood in front of him. Her hair done up under a scarf, her face scratched and scraped. Interestingly enough, she wore a Camp Half-Blood shirt. It seemed to barely hold itself together, with different coloured stitches and patches made of vastly different materials plastered on the fading fabric, but sentimentality and all, Alabaster supposed. Didn't matter it was small for her frame, not when it might as well be the only camp shirt left.
It looked more comfortable than the satin chaffing against his skin anyway.
"Torrington." She acknowledged, spinning her knife in her hand, eyes glaring daggers.
He really really didn't want a fight. Not only was he tired and hungry, but this was Annabeth. They knew eachother, once.
A traitorous part of him whispered; you knew Sherman too, didn’t stop you from driving your sword right into his heart, did it?
An acrid feeling stabbed the back of his throat.
"Are you mapping out where to stab me or just plain checking me out, Chase?" Alabaster forced out a cocky smile.
Her eyes flashed, "Why are you here? You're not welcome, General."
"Routine patrol." He shrugged. "I should ask you that question, technically."
"Not your business." Annabeth circled him, holding her dagger between them the whole time. Alabaster didn't attempt to move an inch, to draw his sword from where it hung on his back. "But someone needs to keep watch on Olympus."
Alabaster glanced to the side. Empire State Building stretched towards the skies, deader than Zeus’s chopped up pieces resting beneath the deepest part of Tartarus.
"You're wasting your time," he murmured, "you lost. Your gods abandoned you. They aren't coming back."
Annabeth growled behind him. She could very well strike and stab him in the back with their current positions, but Alabaster found he didn't really mind the possibility.
"Maybe try out the remains of Camp Half-Blood instead? I heard the weather is real nice there at this time of the year," he mused, shifting his weight onto his cane more, "I'm sure Grover will be fine. Never took you or Jackson as the gardening type, though."
It was quite hard to miss the giant tree growing out of an apartment fire escape. Even if it hadn't been an open secret that Perseus Jackson and Annabeth Chase took refugee in the former's home.
The truth was neither of them were worthy of being considered a threat by his lord anymore.
Or so Lord Kronos said and who was Alabaster to argue. Less work for him.
A whooshing sound... and a cold metal pressed against his throat while a body pressed against his own.
Annabeth hissed into his ear, "If you think you're scaring me—"
"I just hear what people say about me, that's all." It would be so easy to lean forward, to finally be able to sleep for more than four hours for once. To rest as his blood spilled all over the asphalt. The brand on his back flared up as if his Lord heard and disagreed with Alabaster from the throne he sat upon kilometres away. "Monster of Mount. Tam, was it?"
"You're no monster," Annabeth sneered, backing off and clearing her dagger with her shirt as if it touched something dirty, "You're a dog if anything. Wandered far away from your owner, did we? Lost your leash, Torrington?"
Alabaster flitted his gaze to the ground, shame curling inside his chest. Always trust Annabeth Chase to find the words that hurt the most. Hadn't changed a bit from when they were eight. "Go home, Chase. I do not want to fight you."
"You would lose," Annabeth slotted her dagger inside the hilt strapped to her belt. She declared, "I don't know you."
Fast, devoid of any attachment. Just like ripping off a bandaid.
"No," He agreed, a grim smile on his face as he pushed past her, "and for Titans's sake, don't get out of the house when my Lord knows I'm here."
"Coward," A scoff made him stop on his track yet again, "I hope you die in a ditch."
Alabaster stared at the hand he was clutching his cane's handle with. It was harder to see under the black nail polish, but the dried blood was there, sitting atop his nail beds and laughing at him. Just like the green magic staining around his veins in splotches, just like the feeling of never being able to wash away the blood on his hands. Just like the screams and pleas for mercy plaguing his nightmares.
"You and me both, Chase. You and me both."

Warning: a 13 year old dies
Alabaster shifted from one foot to other, trying to relieve the ache, not that it did worked. His vision was getting blurry, his spine was on fire. He hadn't consumed anything for almost a day. Perhaps more? The council meeting had started somewhere around mid-noon yesterday and he hadn't left the side of Kronos's throne since, hadn't been allowed to. He had no idea what the time was. They were still arguing.
His mother sent him a brief sympathetic smile from upon her throne and went back to ripping apart Hyperion with her words. If he didn't know it would anger his lord, Alabaster would hold onto the throne's armrest to stop his legs from wobbling.
His head snapped up as the throne room's doors bursted open. A scrawny child with torn clothes and a thin jacket stood at the entrance, cursed loudly when they realised where they got in. Alabaster's throat constricted; the child couldn't be older than thirteen, might even be one that he had took captive, the faces had all started to blur together months ago, he wouldn't know. They probably found an opening to escape and took it, and gotten lost due to not knowing Othrys's layout.
'Run' he mouthed. Above him, as the top of his head barely reached the edge of the armrest, Kronos shifted. Alabaster stilled as he felt a hand placed on his head, standing at attention.
"What’s the saying, what the cat dragged in?" Kronos hummed, "An intruding rat."
The kid made a peeping sound, clearly terrified, eyes darting across the council members frantically. They held their dull blade between Kronos and them, chest raising and deflating rapidly as they breathed out loud.
"My lord," Prometheus raised his hand, "if I may?" He didn't wait for an answer.
"If we can not call mortals rat.. Of course some of them may be quite like them but I'd want to inform that I've worked hard on them and—"
Prometheus shut his mouth as Kronos raised his hand. Alabaster sighed quietly at the relief of the pressure on top of his head being gone. How nice of Prometheus to draw all the anger at him in his attempt to boast about his creations. Hopefully Kronos would remember that and take his frustrations out on Prometheus this week? Call him selfish but Alabaster didn't have a desire to inquire his lord's wrath.
"I am not a rat!" The kid cried out. "I will- I will get out of here and we will end your reign!" They pointed their blade straight towards the main throne.
An intense dread filled Alabaster up as Kronos tilted his head. "How cute... How naive. Demigods," he sighed, " always the same. Always acting like I didn't warn them: Pledge loyalty or die."
A few of the Titans chuckled. Alabaster's gut twisted as the kid inched on themselves, trying to back away, only for the doors to close with a crackling slam.
"You're a demigod!" The kid begged to him. "Why are you doing this? Why are you helping him?"
The kid was young, as young as his littlest sister.
They wouldn't be the youngest person he had killed.
"Torrington!" Kronos bid, waving a hand as if bored.
Alabaster pulled his sword out of his scabbard, watching the kid's eyes grow wide with increasing terror. He took a step forward—
Alabaster stared at the dark marble floor mortified as he collapsed to all fours when his knees gave out. The low chattering cut off. He could feel the scrutinising eyes on him. Kronos broke through the silence.
"Up." He commanded, like you would to a pet.
Alabaster helped himself up with the intricate carvings alongside the throne, but shamefully swaying on his feet even after that. Kronos clicked his tongue, and pushed him down to his knees with his two fingers. Near the back, Atlas howled with laughter. Alabaster stayed put, bowing his head, averting his gaze to not see the pure unadulterated disgust in the kid's eyes.
A gust of power breezed through the room. After a loud thud, and the following silence, the argument over the sacrifices re-began. Alabaster lifted his head slightly to see the kid's crumpled body near the wall, laying in a pool of their own blood.
At the sound of finger snapping, Alabaster rose to attention once again.
They had won the war, both of the camps were gone. His mother finally had the throne she deserved. He was as miserable than he ever had been.
I'll elaborate if someone asks or maybe later but for now ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Since I finished the Percy birthday fic, I can once again focus on my other wips. However, I'm going to take it slow. In the meantime, because I hate (/j) myself and need something as distraction at all times;
I'm willing to answer questions/write drabbles/doodle up things for my Titans win au

First, that was very poetic, get peer reviewed.
Second; the Au's main premise is basically Kronos winning the war as obvious by the name, it's as much as @phoenix--flying s au as mine tbh (hi phoenix!) Tw for torture, murder
Ethan almost falls like he did in canon during the throne room fight but Percy catches him last minute, gets pulled down too, Grover catches him, also gets pulled down, Annabeth catches him—
They all fall off, leaving Kronos alone with the thrones. Luke dies for what's basically a second time pretty painfully, he burns up to the point not even his soul goes to the Underworld as Kronos reaches full form.
Ethan, Annabeth, Percy and Grover get saved by Blackjack. Kronos destroys Olympus, Apollo and Artemis run away to Delos, Hera runs to Greece and Hades, Persephone and Demeter hole themselves up in the Underworld and barricade it so the Titans won't reach them. Demeter also takes in Hestia there. Atlas is still under the sky due to Kronos being mad at him for the TTC fiasco.
Ethan. Ethan my boy. He thinks everything is his fault. Obviously, he should have died during BoM and the trio shouldn't have saved him. If he died Kronos wouldn't have won etc etc. He also can't stop thinking about Al and if he even knows who he is anymore.
Alabaster, with Ethan gone, has to fulfil the role of two people. He's both Kronos's bodyguard and general. The Titans often forget (or don't care) that he's mortal so he spends so many time not eating, drinking, sleeping. He's bone tired. He's getting overworked to death. Part of the reason he occasionally uses a cane is the fatigue.
What happens to the other demigods? Well, the Romans actually won their side of the war before the Titan army at Manhattan marched back to Othrys. The demigods that have not been captured are getting hunted down by... ding ding ding, Alabaster!
Alabaster's powers are near unmatched, no one who has been his target has ever lived. Well, Kronos asked him to kill Ethan and Lou a few months into Ta's victory. Alabaster refused. Kronos tortured him, thus breaking Alabaster's belief that they're the heroes. Kronos won the war, he has no reason to keep Alabaster loyal. He needs obedience now. Besides where else would he go? Manhattan is a ghost city, mortals are getting killed. It's not like Alabaster can run to the people he's hunting down and seek refuge, he's trapped.
The current timeline is approximately 3 years after TLO, putting Ethan and Alabaster around 19 old of age. Nico is the prophecy child. Also because of the names have power thing, Alabaster has a lot of nicknames he's called by the former campers: Monster of Mt. Tam, the General, Kronos's attack dog... Take your pick.
There's more, like, a lot more. So if you want more info feel free to shoot an ask

SCREAMING CRYING THROWING UP
AfdffghhthfhhjkkkkGHHDSDHHJKKPKJJHGJKKJKJJKKKHBBdhdhhhjkrt
First and foremost, I absolutely love you op, please keep going, you are sustaining my life right now
Second of all, this has so much potential. Holy shit. The inherent tragedy of slowly murdering yourself over the things that were supposed to keep you alive. The angst that springs from the guilt of simply surviving. Once I get my thoughts together, I have to write/draw something about this.
Oh, and I certainly can’t relate to these characters and obviously don’t find comfort in thinking about them because I’m a totally normal person with no issues whatsoever. I’m not even joking even if it sounds like it, I feel pretty miserable and I use them as a form of escapism because I refuse to get any actual help. But let’s not get into that.
