Howdy! I saw your post about having done some transcription of interviews, and I'm wondering if you know of any transcriptions of the text of HWBM or WKTD? I own both the games and I'm using them as texts for a project on queer posthuman postsacrificial bodies, and I'm tryin to get the text in a document so I can quote & search it easily. If you know of a way to extract the text from the game files that would also be helpful!! No worries if not, just thought I'd reach out. Thank you so much for running this blog, your updates did help me get my hands on a glow-in-the-dark CAMP IS A FUCK shirt. Hope your day is going well!

As far as I am awear there is no way to get the text from the game in any download-able sense or way to extract the text.

I do have the downloadable sprites and background images used in wktd and some form hwbm but that doesn’t sound like what you’re looking for.

Very glad you got a shirt!

I’d ask a game dev if they know of anyway of extracting the text from the games.

i absolutely agree with what you've written about the psychiatric system. was wondering if you had any ideas about solutions to it? (besides the incredibly broad "we need to replace capitalism")

so there’s no way for the specific causes of mental suffering under capitalism & the pathologisation of inability to work / the biologisation of symptoms under capitalist psychiatry to be “solved” without getting rid of capitalism (or else w/o the occurence of a major shift in capitalism that would likely leave something just as bad in its wake). what it would take to overthrow capitalism is obviously a huge question w/ many answers (some of which I’ve talked about before) & is beyond the scope of this ask, but there are nevertheless ways to help mentally ill people / people who are parsed as mentally ill here and now. off the top of my head:

opposing ideology that supports biological models of mental illness

donating to / volunteering at local abuse shelters (since disabled people have a dramatically increased risk of being abused)

donating to mentally ill people w/ online donation campaigns who are trying to make ends meet / people who are trying to escape abusive situations

bringing up issues of ableism & disability within other groups & movements

setting up local services & volunteer efforts to help mentally ill & physically disabled people to get groceries, prescriptions, & whatever else they need (that whole “mutual aid” thing that I keep going on about)

supporting mentally ill people (and others!) in your very own life, making time to cultivate spaces that serve the possibility of love and emotional connection in the midst of capitalist isolation & alienation
