I honestly think that was exactly the point. I don't know which vision has the Fandom but i personally think leaving Leo alone to featch for himself was exactly the idea. That way he would have learned about taking care of himself and defending himself and especially about how he is alone in the world and no-one loves him. That way his self-love and self-preservation would be mostly zero and his sacrifice in the war would be almost sure. I even think that all his bad experiences with the social services and foster homes are a work from the gods so Leo would be the one deciding he has to die. Because, at the end of it all, who's going to miss him? No one cares about him. He's something for people to use and then throw away. A weapon.

P.d. I could talk about this all day, I definitely love the concept.
