༊࿐ gemini’s often get hated on because a lot of people hate themselves but don’t realize it. gemini’s are mirrors. they try to relate to you as much as possible. this is also why they’re so charming. they match people’s vibes. long term though people tend to dislike them since they don’t wanna meet themselves/be around people like them. this isn’t always the case of course. when low vibrational there is definitely gemini’s that are fake since the sign is associated with gossip. there is times when they will be nice to your face and then talk bad about you behind your back. however, high vibrational ones put their energy toward their interests and don’t gossip, but instead have better communication skills and are direct with people

Personality:

The newly titled young witcher DeColorina, is a somewhat shy but enthusiastic lady. A person who usually looks at the beauty of things and can find charm and inspiration in the most common things; Unlike Dogday who grew up surrounded by the typical culture of witchers, Crafty grew up in a family that disowned them to the point that she ran away from home as a child just because she couldn't adapt to what they demanded of her.

She even finds it difficult to admit or carry the attitudes of a witcher such as using her magic so sporadically or the ability to cope with her treatment, which causes her to accidentally manifest her magic in a somewhat explosive way, but not harmful.

She is someone quite cultured, sometimes being a voice of information, translation or presentation in a complementary or alternative way to Bubba; and when she gains trust with someone she can talk about her love of art and plants, feeling freer to be able to use them without problems in the comfort of her studio or talking with people she truly trusts. She's Not only is she good at painting, but she is very skilled at creating sculptures and acting (although she is terrible at sewing)..

Although she is an affable and calm person, she has moments where she usually makes me very emotional, aggressive or explosive. Especially when it comes to things like duels or conflicts(being a recurring gag how he gets too involved in a situation like a sports game or a chase that he ends up helping one of her friends.).

Around half year before the events, the newly titled Witcher DeColorina, trained by the Witcher of "Crow" (Dogday's mother) in everything she could, went to Main City in search of repaying the kindness of the Sunnyhowl family to her.

Since she arrived in Main city, she works in a local kindergarten (because she cannot live on art alone, yet) where she works as a teacher with a group of 10 sisters who each work teaching a different subject; getting along better with the only one of the sisters who is also a witch, Poma Delight.

Depending on the situation, she works 5 days a week from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and on Saturday mornings.

In her free time she will spend it at her house (which she uses as a workshop) or at the restaurant. the piggyA recurring joke is that if it comes suddenly it is full of paint or leaves.

Magic data (and other skills):

Unlike Dogday, she has good combat skills, in addition to that she can defend herself in these ways:

- Quite fast analysis of situations.

- persuasion in difficult situations.

- if things get tense, a stick is also a good option to defend yourself.

- also be careful with his kicks; They are literally hard hats.

as a witcher, she has good handling; but not perfect of it. She still often has the habit of losing control in small ways.

Her title in magic is based on the 'orchidae die Decolorina' or 'Decolorina flower', a variant of the 'Salvae Terrae' or 'plant of salvation' from witcher mythology.

The 'orchidae di decolorina' is also called "royal bloom" because in ancient times it was considered the opposite of poppies and due to its rarity in its color palette it was considered more valuable than diamonds.

The uses that she gives to it are=

#1 plant flowering: this is the most common use you can give to your magic. but it can only give growth to plants that have flowers and fruits; Sometimes it is usually bigger than I expected or it is the wrong plant.

#2 tracking with flowers: she can perceive people through flowers; She can't see them literally, it works more like a radar for "presences."

#3 manipulating and giving life to plants by giving them small commands: similar to Dogday and probably learned from Mrs. Sunnyhowl; Crafty can give life and small commands to plants, although her command is "can you help crafty with...?"

#4 give life to the paintings: as an extra skill with his love of art and his somewhat tight economic situation, he realized that by using crushed flowers and fruits, his paintings have a more striking finish, and sometimes when they continue cool ones react to your mood (scaring someone once you made them angry or scary)

(funfact: For Picky's birthday he decided to take a portrait for her; However, while painting her, she had been scared after watching a movie by a certain "Tomie" and the painting of her unconsciously took on a similar appearance. Bubba thought her gift was in bad taste, but Picky was so delighted with it that she insisted on paying her a miniature version of theyself.)

Unlike Dogday, she has not yet mastered the voluntary form of overflowing, so she never resorts to that form... yet.

🔥Rengoku Kyojuro

🔥 His body temperature is ALWAYS (and when I say always i mean ALWAYS) WARM. It dosn't matter if it's literally freezing outside, he will still be warm (imagine hugging him during a snowy day omg)!

🔥He started styling his hair that way since he was a kid because he wanted to look like his dad since he admired him so much (the same thing happened to Senjuro actually)

🔥 During Hashiras meetings he ALWAYS says some type of dad jokes to like relieve some of the tension yk

📢Uzui Tengen

📢 He asks his wives help to paint his nails and sometimes he also lets them pick the colors (Suma and Makio often end up fighting over wich color to pick lol)

📢 Him and Rengoku are best buddies so Uzui always tries to find Rengoku a wife or atleast a girlfriend! I feel like Tengen has at least once tried to convince Rengoku to go to the Entertainment District

📢 I feel like overdressing for casual occasions is his favourite pastime (he's so flamboyant)

🍡Mitsuri Kanroji

🍡 Pretty sure she will do eating comps with other Hashiras. I think that Uzui would be the first to challenge her saying something like "Despite your flamboyant look, Mitsuri, I'm sure I can beat you in an eating comp-" he never stood a chance. Like ever.

🍡 Aside from her bubbly personality, I feel like on the inside she's very insicure about her appearence. I feel like she would like to gain a bit of weight but it's just kind of impossible for her. She never talked to anyone about her insecurities.

🍡 I think she would LOVE to have a 'girl's night' with Shinobu. During the said 'girl's night' Mitsuri would enjoy cooking (especially eating what they cooked after ^^), doing make-up or skin care, talking about boys and other girly stuff like that!

🦋Shinobu Kocho

🦋 When she was younger she got bullied SO BADLY for her height, and that is the reason why she's always on the defensive when someone mentions her height, it dosn't matter if the person is doing it to make fun of her or not.

🦋 Her favourite butterfly breed is the Purole Emperor!!💜

🦋 I feel like whenever she gets a compliment from someone she gets SUPER flustered. I think she gets flustered easyly for some reason. She'll try to hide her blush with her hands or by looking towards another direction and say something like "Fufu you're going to make me blush silly!"

☁️Muichiro Tokito

☁️ Even if he tends to forget people's names easyly, i feel like he would remember the names of the ones who kind of gave him some type of lesson, like life lesson or smth.

☁️ I think he's not very close to none of the Hashiras and that is another reason why he tends to be more shy and stoic. I also think that he would actually enjoy spend time with someone kinda like him (if you get what I mean lol) like cloud gazing with someone or sharing toughts about whatever is around in that moment.

☁️ In my opinion, among of the Hashiras, Uzui and Rengoku are the ones he likes the least. The main reason is because of their loudness, like let's be honest, they're 100% the loudest ones of the group. Muichiro prefers to be around quiet people.

🐍Obanai Iguro

🐍 The reason why he loves Mitsuri is because she is the complete opposite of him. Like she's lively, bubbly, caring, cute and all that stuff while he's stubborn, grumpy, reserved, diffident etc.

🐍 I feel like his humour would be based in sarcasm. I also think that he would be the type to say "no" when somebody asks him to hand them something but then proceed to pass them what they asked for. And ofc dark humour. He will try his best though to not use that kind of humour when around Mitsuri!

🐍 His favourite places to stay while relaxing are high places like trees or roofs. He likes how people can't quite notice him when he's up there and he secretly kind of enjoys scaring other Hashiras sometimes lol!

🪨Gyomei Himejima

🪨 He is super sweet, kind and caring towards children. Like imagine this: Gyomei is peacefully walking on a village's path when two random kids bump into him. The two kids start frenetically apologizing when Gyomei crouches down before placing his large hands on the two kids' heads. "Don't worry, little ones, go ahead and continue playing" He says with a gentle smile on his face (OMG I JUST LOVE HIM LOL).

🪨 He enjoys helping other Hashiras out with everyday chores, like getting something from a shelf that is too high or other stuff like that! I think he's kind of a big brother figure to all of them.

🪨 For some reason I feel like he loves cats just as much as Mitsuri does! And that is why sometimes they hang out together and go in search for cats to feed and pet! ^^

🔪Sanemi Shinazugawara

🔪 Even if be tries to act tough, he deeply cares about other Hashiras. He sees them as family and since he lost most of his real family, he dosn't want to loose his second one.

🔪 He's not experienced AT ALL with women and that is why he gets SO flustered around them (just like his brother Genya i love them sm) but unlike Genya, he's great at hiding it. Also I feel like not many women could be attracted to him, not because he's not attractive as a man, but because of the kinda scary gaze he gives them when they approach him, he dosn't do that on porpouse though!

🔪 Just as he does for the Hashiras, he DEEPLY cares about his brother Genya and he feels kinda bad for everytime he didn't mention him to the other Hashiras or for whenever he avoided him (they deserve so much better ngl!)

🌊Giyuu Tomioka

🌊 He dosn't fully understand why the other Hashiras don't like him and that actualky hurts him. I feel like somtimes he just zones out thinking about why the others don't like him and stuff like that.

🌊 Sometimes he tries to start convos with other Hashiras but it always ends up being awkard ^^'. I also think that he tried to like hug someone atleast once but it all ended up being weird LOL. He probabily tried hugging Mitsuri, not because he is interest in her romantically or smth but because she's kind and sweet to everyone so she would have probabily agreed to hugging him! The only issue was that while he was awkwardly hugging her, Obanai appeared out of nowhere and started chasing Giyuu until nightime while Mitsuri was just standing there confused as hell.

🌊 Oppositely to Rengoku, i feel like his body would be perpetually cold, it would warm up though if he was near a fire or near something warm.

​                          Disastrously Good Intentions

If it hadn’t been for Adam’s unnaturally quick reaction time, you would’ve surely hit the ground trying to stagger backwards away from the unmanned cart full of presents that careened past you. The sight before you was something you hadn’t quite expected. Balloons of all pastel shades were strung up--though many popped, from various railings and beams. There was a banner that read “WAR”, which, from the letters you saw scattered on the ground at one point, must've said “BABY WARLOCK”. It was kinda fitting though. The battlefield aspect. Especially when your eyes landed on the cake that looked like a literal bomb had gone off inside of it. Icing was everywhere. Literally, everywhere. 

“This wasn’t what I had envisioned when I learned about pregnancy customs from your planet.” Adam sighed in defeat, both of you watching as Drax accidentally collapsed one of the table legs while trying to steady another. “We wanted to surprise you with a baby shower. I wanted to surprise you.” 

You rested your hand on the swell of your stomach. Seven months with two to go. Life had been pretty boring since you had to take a step away from missions. Gods, you missed it. What point was it to be a Guardian when the most excitement you dealt with was settling petty disputes between Knowhere’s citizens? Your baby’s health and safety was of the utmost importance and you’d do anything for her, but you couldn’t help but feel a little envious whenever Adam returned for duty and told you what the team had accomplished. But now, for the first time in awhile, you actually felt something. Small as it was. 

“Oh, I am definitely surprised.” You assured him, amusement finding you as Groot popped more balloons than he managed to reattach. “And you did all of this? For me?” 

“Yes! Well, everyone assisted of course. Peter was of the greatest use. Last time when you both visited your grandfather, he brought those magazines? You know from that place where you can pay and they do the imaging of the baby? What we do here, but much more complex and thorough.” 

Ah, the sonogram place. Not a doctor’s office, but one of those companies where you could go with your loved ones and see your baby on the screen. You’d taken your grandfather a few times so he could witness his great grandchild’s heartbeat first hand. See her wiggle and even get a few pictures as a keepsake out of it. Peter tagged along each time making it a Quill family affair. Though you never noticed that he borrowed the waiting room’s only literature…

“I see…” You nodded, trying to hide your smile as you caught sight of Kraglin getting after Cosmo--who had given into her dog nature and had taken to enjoying some of the fallen cake. “I like the decorations.” 

“Mantis and Nebula. Well, Nebula after a great deal of convincing from Mantis. She wanted to make it clear that she wouldn’t do this for just anyone and that you better be grateful. I’m certain she meant that with love. You know how she can be with words. She’s just well…she’s Nebula.” Adam said with a smile. “Do you like the colors? Rocket picked those.”

“Rocket?!” You snorted, stunned by the news. “...I never pictured him being someone who’d be into color schemes.” 

“Well, Drax wanted to go full black and grey, but Peter informed him those were the opposite colors from a celebration like this.” Adam sighed, his mouth curving into a small frown. “This was supposed to be perfect. Just like in the magazines. And I’ve failed, Y/N…”

Out of the corner of your eye, you saw your brother running with a bucket of water. You weren’t sure if you wanted to know why. Rocket was making wild gestures at Groot who had somehow managed to get the banner strings wrapped around his branches. Nebula seemed to have just given up on it all as Mantis haphazardly juggled a tower’s worth of presents. And Drax…well, that table would never be of use again. At least Cosmo was enjoying herself. 

“Hey.” You turned so you faced Adam completely. Resting your hand on his cheek, you made him look at you. “Sweetheart, you didn’t fail at all.”

“But, your party. It looks like…” 

“Not like a normal baby shower? Yeah, that’s true.” You smiled, chuckling softly. “I mean, it’s wild. Chaotic. A big mess. But that’s what we all are. This party, all of it.” You gestured around you. “When I see this sight around me. I see my family. Not some boring, structured thing. You couldn’t give me or…” You took Adam’s hand and placed it on your stomach feeling your baby move from within. “Her a better celebration. I love this. All of this. And I love you.” 

You leaned up and kissed Adam gently. His eyes lit up and his smile returned. Both of you looked to the wreckage that was your party, though it felt wrong and yet silly calling it that. 

“I have an idea.” You said with a grin.

“Oh?” Adam inquired, an eyebrow raised. 

“How about we go over there and help poor Mantis before those presents topple over. I’d kinda like to see what is inside.” 

Adam smiled and placed a kiss on your forehead. “That, my darling, sounds like a glorious idea.”

Setting the Board Up

If you are not on Twitter, or not on the right side of it, it is possible you missed this theory. According to this theory, the creator of which I don't remember sadly, ATEEZ represent black chess pieces. We can tell this by the way they mirror each other's positions perfectly on the D-1 poster except for Hongjoong and Seonghwa, who are the king and the queen respectively.

The MV further reinforces this theory. Here I will discuss each team by linking their appearances in the MV and the diaries to chess itself. I took a lot of my information from https://www.chessstrategyonline.com/ so a big thank you to that website since I barely know anything about chess.

Yunho and Mingi: The Rooks

Rooks are strongest when they protect each other. They do this by being positioned along the same line. In the diaries we see them coincidentally sit together at the plane. This may mean something, it also may mean that I am slowly losing my mind and finding meaning in every detail.

A good rook strategy is leaving one rook a little behind the other rook who charges ahead to attack for protection. We may encounter this behaviour in the future between Mingi and Yunho.

Rooks are defensive pieces, making them take part in actual action before mid-late game is not considered a best practice. In the MV however they seem to do quite the opposite. Mingi goes around with his set of "pawns" and does the most damage done: he sets the furniture on fire and breaks the car window. Yunho is the other effective member, being the one who threatens the doctor.

Being defensive pieces, the rooks rarely lead the game and are used to protect others that lead it. In the MV most leadership roles belong to our rooks with the mob leader Mingi and Yunho seemingly being the overall leader of the group.

Rooks are usually not used in early-game. In fact, rook pawn openings are considered as some of the weakest openings in chess. Starting the MV off with Yunho in this sense is risky: they either have such a great strategy down that they don't worry about this or they are playing a very bad game.

In late-game rooks get a chance to make good attacks: one of them charges ahead to enemy lines and starts taking down pieces, still backed by the other rook. This way it may even pull checks.

Not exactly theory relevant but Yungi being called "Twin Towers" and portraying rooks here is just so funny to me

San and Jongho: The Knights

"The knight is a master of surprise, and can hop in and out of the most unexpected locations." (I sure as hell was surprised by San in the MV.)

Knights do the bulk of action and are best positioned in the center. In fact, due to their tricky mobility, it is risky to position them on the sides. In the MV we see Jongho often isolated in the study that is literally on the top floor near the window, literally the furthest position from the center, from where he tries to direct the action.

The knights are prone to get trapped since they don't have many movement possibilities in a single move. Especially on the sides it has the risk of running out of squares. If trapped in enemy territory it could take a miraculous move to save it from there, or the knight will have to be sacrificed to focus on a more strategic move. Food for theorizing.

Yeosang and Wooyoung: The Bishops

The bishops move along opposite colored tiles, one on black and the other on white. Starting with this arc we see opposition between Wooyoung and Yeosang, which makes their roles so fitting.

Strategically, there are more ways to use bishops than I am equipped to tell. Since we are not yet very well set on their roles in the group I'd rather not speak on strategical uses.

Except... bishops are usually not kept in the center of the board (where the bulk of action happens) for long. They attack when they can and quickly go to the sides. However, in the choreo Wooyoung takes the center position for this song.

Unrelated but I want to say I love the usage of the classic ATEEZ pairings for these, whether it was intended or not. Also bros really suck at chess.

Seonghwa: The Queen

The queen is mostly an offensive piece and has weak defence. In the MV, Seomghwa is almost always surrounded by "pawns", a fitting protection. However, we must also consider that these pawns are dressed in all white except for black ski masks.

The queen is especially vulnerable when it is brought out too soon. A good tip to note.

A lost queen is as good as a check. Seonghwa is as important as Hongjoong in this conflict.

Hongjoong: The King

Apparently the rooks protect the king well.

Practically the weakest piece with the least mobility but it has the highest importance.

In the MV we see him isolated. Except for group sequences and a quick shot (related to the group sequence), HJ is seen totally alone in obscure corners of the villa. This is good for the protection of the king since it is harder for the enemy to reach those corners, but it also means that there is no one protecting the king. We can take Wooyoung the bishop as his protector if we take the black and white photos flashing into consideration.

Playing a Bad Game

Looking at their actions and positions in the MV, we see the black pieces are following a risky strategy. In fact they take so many risks all at once that we can say their strategy is actually... bad. Nobody is protecting the piece he should be protecting, the pieces that should be in the sides are in the center and the ones that should be in the center are at the sides. But is this necessarily a bad thing?

In Part II of this analysis series we had established that black represents Counter-TEEZ in this era and white represents our normal ATEEZ. rahhhh, I was having so many thoughts about them throughout the years!! (I've been into fnaf since 2014, but started developing a foundation for the au back in 2021, I think? ANYWAYS!!)

With Michael it's pretty mediocre, the usual thing for most of the Afton family interpretations in fnaf AUs. His father not being the best parent, Michael being mama's boy, his mom trying to search for good qualities in him, Elizabeth being competitive with Michael, etc, etc. I think the main difference here is that his motivation is somewhat complex? I mean, he was (sorry to say that) an unplanned kid for Clara and William and Mike knows that his father's attitude towards him is based only on that thing (before the accident); Michael knows that his father despises him for William's very own mistake, the man unwilling to acknowledge that, and Michael despises William in return, in a "it's not even my fault!" kind of way. and he's right. but something about wanting to get some attention from a father figure, the same attention Elizabeth and Evan are getting regardless of what they do, is pushing him into being bad news. His father acknowledges his existence when Michael gets in trouble? He'll get into some more trouble, out of spite, only for William to give him some attention, even if it's a negative one. That's also the main reason why Michael gets into a bratty friend group at school, where boys are daring one another to do stupid shit like getting into fights, getting onto someone's property, pulling harmful "pranks". because these guys get him, they give him shoulder pats and he feels included in this environment.

Jeremy (I know I'm talking way too little about his lore. And this huge essay-like post is the first one to even mention it, LMAOOO) was originally from California and his family had a pretty decent life there. His dad got a promotion and a good job offering at some town in Utah and it was a good chance for Fitzgeralds, so they moved out without any doubt. Jeremy's mom was a really strict mom, a disaster bound to happen, but his father balanced it out with his sweet personality. He showed Jeremy different genres of music, especially the 60s beach rock, and Jeremy started exploring the field ever since, even after his father's death (I didn't come up with a cause of death yet) :[

When Jeremy's father died, everything sort of just went downhill and they moved to Hurricane, of all places, running low on money, his mother also going through emotional turmoil and addictions after her beloved husband's death, with Jeremy's older sister (Janet, she's 3 years older than him) replacing the mother figure in boy's life. he is chill and laid-back, though, and didn't give up even when Mike's bully crew chose him as one of scapegoats for the jokes, standing up for himself. he even once went as far as fighting Michael 1×1.

They just work together, after becoming friends and Mike apologizing, because they are, quite literally, the opposites. I looove writing opposites. Jeremy has a strict mom drowning in grief and being a bad parent to him and his sister, yet he had a wonderful and warm experience of being loved by his dad. Michael doesn't know what it's like to get approval from his dad, but he has a kind and loving mother. The mother issues/father issues parallels. Michael overthinks and is very affected by the image of him people around him have, Jeremy, on the contrary, acts too recklessly and never thinks about others' opinions on him. The orange/yellow color scheme, the purple/brown color scheme, I love these guys, their dynamics makes me want to kick feet and shake like a chihuahua.

Physically restraining myself from giving a way too historically accurate detailing of what masquerades specifically would have been like at that time. I read way too much about them, and I’ve decided I like the more fantastical, stereotypical version we usually tend to think of. Or I guess more accurately, the Venetian version over the early 18th century Viennese style. It was much more formal and complicated at that time, and it hurts my head to even think about all the etiquette. So I’ll just stick to the typical dressing up in costumes while wearing masks, which they did in fact do! Though I guess maybe they’d be very stuffy and formal for most of the part in Austria, and then “go on formal business” down to Venice to have more fun with it hehe. Imagine them wearing opposite colors as their costumes hahaha.

My first thought is that Fernando would absolutely love the plausible deniability that wearing a mask and non typical clothing would give him. Though don’t tell him, but…everyone except him is pretty aware that it’s him. I’ve talked a bit about this before, but he is much more comfortable being affectionate or more down to earth if it won’t affect his carefully crafted image. He really believes in the idea that a monarch should be a lofty, untouchable figure. Even if his identity wouldn’t be completely unknown, it still gives him a level of secrecy and freedom he doesn’t have the chance to feel almost all of the time. Especially if they were guests in another city! I feel like both he and Seb expect each other to cavort with other strangers who they could never be around otherwise. Yet they drift towards each other. Seb likes this Fernando, a Fernando that isn’t hyper aware of his surroundings at literally every moment. A Fernando who acts like the flirty, wild playboy who Seb had heard he was in his youth. He’s usually so stiff and formal with couple dances, but now he’s grabbing Seb’s hand more than is socially appropriate, brushing his waist. Seb thought he had just been an awkward dancer before, someone doing it just because it had to be done. But now he can see Fernando’s passion, his genuine enjoyment. They don’t talk, they just dance the night away, pretending to be two strangers enamored with each other.

I like when they can have these moments where they’re in their own little bubble. Where Fernando doesn’t feel the need to hide his true self away, and Seb isn’t compelled to tease him about every little thing because of it. They’re just them for once, no formality, no expectations, no spectators, no judges of character. Meanwhile everyone is watching them and is like, awww the royal couple is getting along so well!! So they leave them be. Imagine them the next morning though, not outright talking about what happened. “So, that was some ball,” says Seb, “did you find manage to find yourself some company?” Fernando replies, “yes, and he was quite a fine dancer,” and sips his tea while trying to hide his fond smile. Seb has to look away so Fernando doesn’t get spooked by how big his grin is.

Reading from left to right, the characters are as follows. Rewind, Knockout, Arcee, Soundwave, standard Vehicon, Bulkhead, Optimus, Bulkhead, Ultra Magnus, Shockwave, Megatron, Predaking.

Breakdown and Ultra Magnus are practically the average height of most bots, although the upper class consider Bulkhead & Optimus the best heights.

there are many different casts, with most of them being middle to low class. Each cast has unique physical qualities that help with their work. example: orian pax as an archivists would have multiple pairs of arms and a higher processor power, Megatronus as a miner would have heavy armor and longer rang comms.

bots are born without any special paint color, they may have colored metal but only the upper class have specialty finish (unless your job requires it then you may get it). The less bare metal you have showing the more rich you seem, the more plain metal you have to more people look down on you. Along with that, the more armor over the spark chamber the more secure you are supposed to be. Bots like Breakdown & Shockwave are the peak of this concept, with Soundwave being the literally opposite.

OOH OKAY!! Find it really interesting that a Convoy like Optimus’ height is considered the best, I would’ve expected sleeker, smaller frames since large frames are typically used for working, but height as a show of status is a really cool concept!! Love how tiny Rewind is, poor guy just like me fr! Average being breakdowns size is understandable, though I wonder what the ratio of mechs in castes is (what’s the biggest caste, how does this impact the average?) PREDAKING IS MASSIVE, GOOD FOR HIM KING. Though I guess it makes sense on the evolutionary scale you last sent!! Soundwave being on the shorter side is just mwah, he packs quite the punch. THE SPECIALIZED FRAMES FOR THEIR JOBS!! (Would love to se Orion with multiple arms) and it makes a lot of sense especially for medics (I’m surprised that lower castes like miners get anything 😭) This especially makes me wonder about all the special abilities and quirks that some of the characters have, like did they have blasters integrated BEFORE the war? THE COLORS!! Okay okay this is so so cool to me and I feel it makes sense. Idk if Prime Megs was naturally grey but I feel he is and I like how that’s reflective of the coloring idea, makes me think a lot about how much “skin” they’re showing. Are the rescue bots included in this also? (Pre-Earth they were all solid metallic colors, makes me wonder about being a rescue bot)

I was gonna turn on anon but I decided against it, would it be okay if I actually asked you a question? Since I know you write reader insert fics yourself I thought you would maybe relate to what I’m feeling and if so I wanted to see how you deal with it. I absolutely love writing x reader fics, I get really attached to my favorite characters and I love pouring that love into writing form for myself and others to enjoy but sometimes I still feel embarrassed/ashamed/anxious about it and about how others might perceive it. I know there used to be a big stigma behind it and I got made fun of for it for a while and even now when I’ve gained enough confidence to start posting them to public places I still get a little worried that someone is sitting being the screen and thinking “wow this is cringe” especially because it’s most of the content I write and I don’t often write about ships or storylines like a lot of other people do. It’s a bit silly because so far most people have been nothing but nice to me but I still feel a little bit anxious about it especially as I keep writing more and more of them and wonder “oh man is this getting irritating for people”

I apologize for the slight vent, I just found it a little difficult to articulate the emotions in a more simple way. Have you ever felt like when you write fanfic? And if so what helps you kinda push through it and start accepting your writing more?

I don't really write for myself, I mostly write for the people who want to read it. I have a small audience but from the few people I have talked to, on here and from my ao3 page, they like it, so I write it for them.

The thing about the stigma is I still feel it. Not for x reader specifically but for fanfiction and fandom in general. But I just have kinda gotten used to it so I just kinda live in it now. I mean I keep my tumblr to myself and of course y'all on here, but that's it. I don't talk about my fics to people I don't trust not just because of the stigma but also because I write some batshit crazy stuff.

I'll tell you this, I don't think people r going to read something that they think they're not going to like. Especially if you label your works right the worst thing they're going to do is scroll away. (But if u do get a negative comment @ me and I'll find them :) ) Also I think my own work is cringe and I've just accepted that it is at this point so I'm kinda immune to someone telling me that I'm cringe or that what I do is cringe because I am and that's just how it be man. I am one with the cringe and the cringe is me. I've lived too long past my experation date to be worried about some default settings incel telling me my Haunted Mansion fanfiction or tumblr blog is cringe. Like uhm ya of course it's cringe? Man that's a big question, uh Ig I can say that for a long time it felt like a joke to myself that I was writing fanfiction. I was writing it seriously but it didn't feel serious/real to me. I'll say this, I accept the storyline and that I came up with it, but I don't accept the way I'm write it. Because I beat myself up for typos, bad flow, not good enough dialog, not enough descriptors, too many descriptors, too short chapters when I have writers block, not good enough, that kinda stuff.

2) Describe your pronouns. What are they, and why?

She/Her and He/Him! I'm bigender, in my case being male and female. (I got called "Cis+" as an insult in an NB group once, but honestly that's not a bad way to look at it - both of my genders are binary, but they coexist rather than being mutually exclusive opposites.) I don't really prefer one pronoun set to the other; rather, I prefer to be called by both interchangeably!

To that extent, please, please don't refer to me by they/them pronouns (unless you just forget/don't know my pronouns and do it out of respect, in which case that's totally cool!). Admittedly that was the catalyst for the Cis+ comment (something to the extent of "Lol you claim to be nonbinary but your genders are binary and you're adverse to they/them? Looooool you're literally just an indecisive cis person"), so I've been especially sensitive to that ever since 😅

21) What are your favorite things about being multigender?

I'm gonna be corny here: I just love knowing who I am! I kicked around being bigender in high school, but ultimately decided I was my AGAB with tomboyish tendencies. But throughout adulthood, the signs that it was more were always there: I've always identified more strongly with male characters in media, and as a writer, I find it easier to write from a male POV. I've always love being perceived as male; I have short hair and look fairly androgynous from the back, so at work customers would sometimes get my attention with "Excuse me, sir?" They'd apologize profusely when I turned around to reveal a baby face and a sunflower hairclip, but I'd be on Cloud Nine all day and I could never quite explain why.

At the same time, I never thought I was trans. I've always been perfectly happy being a girl. I spent most of my life shunning my femininity (my formative years were smack-dab in the middle of the Not Like Other Girls trend), but in my early 20s I began really embracing it, letting myself wear makeup and dresses and bright colors, and I've loved it ever since! But I could never shake my ties to masculinity. I couldn't explain it.

Last year I finally got fed up and did some soul-searching with friends; they suggested maybe I was a demigirl or demiboy, but those labels didn't feel right, because I'm not partially either, when I dig down deep. When asked who exactly I am, "I'm a woman" and "I'm a man" both feel right, but suggesting I'm more/less one than the other doesn't. "Bigender" came back up, and I was like "Oh. Maybe 17-year-old Peaches really was onto something."

ALL THAT TO SAY: My favorite part of being multigender is being able to understand and embrace myself to the fullest. I'm not a girl with masculine tendencies and I'm not a guy in touch with his femininity. I'm a man as I am a woman. Discovering that has been life-changing.

Always a fan of the dramatics... It seemed that some things never changed.

Whether that would be for better or for worse, however... would remain to be (unfortunately...) seen. There was nothing to be done about it, anyway, especially since Urahara's already here. What could he have possibly done-- chase him out? Tch! That was something only a moron (and mayuri wasn't even close.) would believe in. Optimism, once upon a time, was welcomed within the Twelfth's barracks -- perhaps, when someone other than Mayuri was rudely taking up space, hmm... -- but those times were long gone.

They were lost to the metaphorical sands of time, only capable of being drenched up by those that were bold enough to remember. Some may wonder, too, where did Mayuri stand on this so-called "spectrum"?

Well, the middle, obviously.

"No," he responded after allowing for a few moments of silence to drift by, occasionally intercepted by rapid plonking of fingers to keys. Not once did Mayuri bother to look up from his spot (what's the point? urahara's going to do whatever he wanted, and who was mayuri to say anything? it's not like he was captain or anything, tsk...) nor did he truly work to engage any further. "Instead of pondering on something with an answer..."

Hands would pause then, freezing in an instant. Even if the blond were to attempt to (thinks about cutting him off, metaphorically with his words but, also, literally with the sprinkler that was found a mere, few inches above his head.) to respond, Mayuri deemed it worthy enough to ignore, anyway. It wasn't anything out of the usual, honestly-- if anything, he was offering the other man a little too much leniency but... whatever.

It didn't matter nor would it matter in the long run.

"Shall I look it up for you?"

Be it out of the kindness (invalid. unknown query. 404 error.) of his own heart or, rather, because Mayuri wished to end this meddlesome interaction, he's already proceeding to "look it up". Fingers remained within their stilted, rigid position as his head raised. It was only by a few centimeters, but those with a keen eye should've been able to catch on. Why wouldn't they? Some of those "people" had already decided that breaking and entering was completely fine, after all.

No, he wasn't angry. A little aggravated, yes... but not angry.

That comes later, if Urahara decided to push his luck.

Illuminated by nothing but the bright, neon blue hue of his largest monitor, honeyed eyes were abrupt in how they rolled up into the back of his skull. All signs of white that were found upon his body (his paint, the whites of his eyes, his gums...) were subtly tinted, fading into a color that attempted to mirror his LED. All that remained, now, was beats' worth of silence that was occasionally cut in by the gentle whirring of some machinery that was nowhere to be seen and yet... was audible, as clear as day.

A few wheezes of air here... and a few clinking of data flashing on screens there... All of that was nothing more but ambiance, serving as what remained of the captain's latest projects. When those were finished, he'd merely begin anew with fresh eyes, fresh ideas, and fresh methods. Who's to say, too, that he hasn't thought to start more already? Answering a question better akin for a debate class held very little weight in comparison and, quite frankly, Mayuri thought it within his right to grow offended.

Whatever it was that Urahara Kisuke had to gain from this, surely it wasn't worth the amount of time Mayuri was (and he'll admit. it was on purpose.) wasting. Rummaging throughout the vast nothingness known as the "world wide web", of course, took some time. He was sure that his little, uninvited guest wouldn't mind.

Ultimately, he did ask a question, so... the polite thing to do was to answer it. That was basic cause and effect, honestly. Mayuri would simply hate to feed him misinformation. In some ways, with that in mind, he was actually doing him a favor.

Perhaps he ought to thank him after all was said and done.

Time was hard to track, especially with all sources of telling time facing the "misfortune" of suddenly shutting down. That wasn't meant to happen, no... no, obviously not. It certainly had nothing to do, either, with how the scientist appeared to be having trouble "finding" (he's found it since a while, now, and has been holding onto it.) an answer most befitting to Urahara's standards.

His monitor's grown a bit darker since, dimming in its brightness as it steadily strayed into its sleep mode. Contents of its screen (basic data entry; mayuri was busying himself with... ah, "busy work". basic inventory, in layman's terms.) remained visible but barely legible, with its translucent, white text on top of a blue backdrop. Its scheme was meant to nauseate, to discomfort-- it was something meant for Mayuri's eyes only, and the defense mechanism was simple, easy, and clean to script.

What made it reliable, too, was that while it was a beginner's task to script, it was best suited for the so-called experts (he's seen a few attempt. none cracked the code as of yet.) to decipher.

Lower lip quivered in subtle twitches, implying that an active search was still in progress. At this point in time, though, all that Mayuri was done was casually scrolling through the rest of the results that popped up. Some were mildly laughable, others somewhat plausible, while some... well, the rest were hogwash.

"... Ah, here it is. I finally found it," he suddenly chimed in, irises revealing themselves in mere seconds right after.

Fingers resumed their typing as his head lowered, seamlessly continuing from where he last left off. Teeth bore in a faint grimace (he hoped it was as annoying for urahara as it was for him to put up this stupid, childish façade.) before, with a cluck of his tongue, he proceeded.

"Hmmnn... The majority believed that it was, simply put, a signature; nothing particularly special. The School of Athens was commission work, proffered by none other than a pope-- Pope Julius II, if you were a stickler for that particular detail... not that it matters, seeing as he's long dead now," he pauses to lean away from his work, entwining his fingers and straightening his arms in order to entice a long, drawn out yet much needed crack out from his knuckles. "Mainly painted as a decoration... hence its eccentric location... it was also intended to "praise" the church, because-- well, I'm sure you know why."

All of this effort, and Mayuri was well aware that it wouldn't bare much fruit. He's sure that he was doing this, majorly, for sake of Urahara's "amusement". Whatever the absolute hell that was, anyway.

"I stopped reading after a few paragraphs, because it was starting to grow repetitive," came the lackadaisical "confession", lacking in its expected remorse, "but, to be blunt, it was a blatant "self-insert", because how else would he include a signature? By signing it? Pfft... That would've gotten him executed, I'm sure, for being so bold."

Placing his hands back upon the keys, he straightened his back only to hunch it seconds later. There were no signs of discomfort arising (why? he's fine like this.), and he'd most likely be here for some time to come.

"Is that all? Any more asinine questions?"

In spite of the retort, Mayuri doesn't wait for a response. A certain shopkeeper's overstayed his welcome, and it was time he took his leave.

As if to encourage a hasty retreat, the sprinkler above the man's head springs to life (the clocks, too, returned to normal. it was as if nothing happened-- besides, well, showing that ten minutes had passed.) and immediately drenches him in water.

"Oops. I suppose not."

He huffed a sigh and hung his head. Stopping in his ministrations, he rubbed his lips together (how annoying.) before raising a hand, snapping its fingers twice in rapid succession.

"Now then, if you'd be so kind as to--"

Without warning, the sprinkler's increased in intensity (it can go further, too, if mayuri wanted it to.) and narrowed its focus, almost like it honed in on Urahara and Urahara only.

this is one of the most brain-rottingly terminally online posts i’ve ever seen in my life to the point where when i saw someone screenshot this and post it on twitter talking about how terminally online this is i genuinely felt compelled to look it up and add my annoying and autistic commentary to it, my literal lifelong special interest, and then log off. i was surprised to see this person is 24 and not like, 18 but honestly even the gap between someone in their mid twenties and someone like me in their late twenties feels massive these days due to the rise of the internet and the speed with which social media has grown.

matt stone and trey parker and the greater south park team have been dealing with absolute puritans like you people trying to campaign to get them off air and drain their fanbase by writing shit like this since quite literally before you were born. the fact that you do not comprehend satire or comedic devices such as “crossing the line twice” is not their problem, nor is it their problem that like 1% of their fanbase is stupid enough to delude themselves into thinking that this show is agreeing with them and reinforcing their beliefs. that’s a phenomenon that’s going to occur with every single comedic and satirical show that ever has or will be on the air, because those people view this show through pretty much the exact same lens as people like you, just in the opposite direction. the problem here in both cases is the unbelievable lack of nuance and and inability to engage in critical thought. south park is and always has been an outlet for matt stone and trey parker to poke fun at objectively ridiculous shit and current events, and when you’re on the air for as long as they’ve been you’re bound to get some shit wrong. their goal has never been to outright offend, it’s to be funny. offending people is a byproduct. and 9 times out of 10 if you’re the person who’s getting offended by this show, you absolutely should be, and you’re just big mad that you’re the exact type of person they're talking about. but the difference between south park and the other shows of it’s generation is that as the years and seasons have progressed they have been more than willing to admit when they were wrong, and write episodes poking fun at their absolute dumbassery from years past. they have never been above apologizing with the comedic tools at their disposal. i’ve even seen people try to label these guys as conservatives and republicans which is a baffling take for anyone who’s ever watched more than 2 episodes of the show and has 2 braincells to rub together, ESPECIALLY in recent years.

this franchise has spawned 26 seasons and counting, multiple specials, two videos games and a movie. it paved the way for matt stone and trey parker to write and produce the book of mormon, which is another long-running absolute phenomenon on broadway. they literally just held their 25th anniversary concert for south park at red rocks in colorado and there were 12k+ people there from all over the country. the crowd was absolutely losing their minds, and when the camera turned to the crowd you saw a melting pot of people of all kinds of demographics. people in the crowd were screaming and crying and throwing up and shouting “THANK YOU TREY!!!!!!” until their voices were hoarse. they still write, record and animate the show in-house with a 6 day turnaround time, as opposed to almost every other adult animated show that takes 6 months to write 15 episodes and then sends their scripts to a studio in south korea to be animated for cents on the dollar. you’d be hard pressed to find any bad or negative stories from people who’ve worked with these guys that didn’t come from a scientologist posing as someone in the industry or a scientology smear website.

this is not the show you think it is. the creators are not the people you think they are. gay people love south park. trans people love south park. people of color love south park. disabled people love south park. neurodivergent people love south park. there is a reason why this show has such lasting power and why nearly everything these men touch turns to gold. the world at large does not agree with you. it is one of the most popular shows in the history of adult animation, maybe in the history of television, for a damn good reason. and writing a little tumblr post like this is not going to change that fact.

Snowflakes and berries at the Nightingale Nebula

It’s winter berry season at the Nightingale Nebula, so us campers are meeting up with the Epiphany to try their seasonal berries as well as enjoy the snowy season. Maybe it seems kinda weird that we’re eating ice cream in the cold, but it’s surprisingly fitting. There’s a reason why these berries are a well known local specialty after all!

The berries that are in season right now are limboberries, clamshells, ameplums, and milky citrus. Limboberries are the most common and can be used in a lot of different things. There’s seasonal specialties like limboberry jam and limboberry milk tea, and it’s often used in pastries. The taste is sort of like a cross between a raspberry and sweet grape. When you freeze the berries, the flavor improves by a lot as it really brings out the sweetness. Seriously, there is such a huge difference between frozen and not frozen.

Clamshells are the second most popular and it’s named that because they’re literally shaped like that. I have seen a lot of people take pictures with them because they do look so unusual, like it’s unreal. Seriously, they look kinda like those plastic beads that sometimes comes in fun shapes like seashells. As for the taste, it’s sweet with hints of a citrusy tartness to balance things out. You can eat it fresh or as ice cream, which is often served in a brioche bun.

Ameplums is basically amethyst and plum because of its pretty purple color. They really do kinda look like gems, especially when chilled as they become super shiny, almost like sparkly. These berries are really sweet - like candy sweet - so unless you like that, you need to freeze them. Basically the opposite of limboberries. They’re used exclusively for desserts and sweet wine.

Finally, there’s milky citrus, which is an unusual berry that’s citrusy and milky. I don’t know why, but I find the flavor kinda weird. I mean, creamsicles are a thing, though I don’t think this tasted anything like that, more like someone poured milk into a glass of orange juice. Maybe that’s not the best way of describing it. Anyway, I don’t exactly dislike it, especially in ice cream where the milkiness shines, but I wouldn’t gravitate towards it for anything else.

As for the Epiphany Crew, quite a bit has happened since I last saw them. The main thing is that Jewel’s recovered and chose to stick with the crew, which Laufey and Landry are happy about. I was worried about her after we just barely saved her from sinking to the bottom of the Mosaic. In terms of physical recovery, she’s not quite out of the woods yet, though it’s nothing too serious that would leave lasting complications. As for the mental and emotional, it’s safe to say that she’s doing a lot better, but it’s also complicated. Just gotta take it one day at a time.

Jewel revealed a bit about what had happened that led to her walking into the river. She said her sense of time after serving her prison sentence has become a bit hazy, most likely because she stopped caring about pretty much everything by that point. From what she can remember, she ended up blowing almost her entire fortune for various reasons, the legal stuff basically being the final nail in the coffin. I recall Laufey mentioning that as a debt collector she was pretty loaded and took pride in that, so to find out that Jewel later became destitute was a shock for her.

Although Jewel had some emergency savings stashed away by the time she was released, she either gambled it all away, or it just wasn’t enough to keep her afloat. Either way, she just aimlessly wandered to various places until she completely ran out of money and began living out on the streets. Sometime later, she started feeling sick and instead of getting better, she realized that she was getting worse. And since she couldn’t afford to get medicine, Jewel felt that her death was inevitable and decided to speed things up.

It’s a good thing we saw her when we did, or else Jewel wouldn’t be here today. She had been hoping to see me again so she can thank me in person and apologize for the trouble, which she didn’t have to, but she insisted. I mean, she was a low point and we saw her falling. Maybe some people would rather turn away when someone’s sinking, even if they’re right next to them, but I don’t think I can do that. If I saw someone falling and they’re within my reach, I would try to help them, do whatever I can within reason to stop them from falling to the void. That’s the least I can do.

After she got pulled out of the water, Jewel spent about 8 days in the ICU because of pneumonia. Since she had been ill for a while and being submerged exacerbated things, the doctors were worried about potential complications. Her lungs and heart are okay, thankfully, but she said there’s apparently some issues with her kidneys that should hopefully resolve itself. So she’s been going in for regular checkups and she’s slowly regaining her strength.

As for how things are for her emotionally and mentally, Jewel summed up her ordeal by saying she fucked up big time. Just as Landry suspected, Jewel began going through an existential crisis after the Acapella incident, which led to her demotion. Back then, she was a ruthless debt collector who was willing to play dirty to get the job done, even if it means ruining other people’s livelihoods over matters that have absolutely nothing to do with the present. The way she and her former colleagues saw it, being a debt collector was a necessary job to keep the economy going, which allowed them to sort of detach themselves and see people as numbers rather than actual people. Not really a nice way of viewing the world in my opinion.

Jewel herself had a reputation for being two faced and admits to being good at backstabbing to the point that it scares her. The incident at Acapella and her subsequent demotion made her realize what she was becoming and she hated herself for it. That’s why she went down the path of self sabotage. Even if she didn’t get fired, the Interstellar Factions debt collector department shut down anyway because it was inherently a corrupt system - and according to Jewel, they probably went bankrupt with all their legal troubles they’ve built up over the centuries.

Having been a debt collector for pretty much her whole life, which she explained as predetermined fate, and revolving her whole life around that, Jewel didn’t know what else to do after getting fired. She can’t go into detail for legal reasons, but she basically joined some sort of gang/cult and got into even more trouble. Then things escalated to the point where she finally got arrested and imprisoned.

When she woke up in the hospital, Jewel admitted that she was disappointed. Laufey said she was listless, kind of like a robot on autopilot. Fionna said it was the same for her when she woke up from her coma. You expect the sweet release of death only to find yourself pinned rock bottom and forced to live with the fact that you’re alive - meaning, you have no choice but to face the consequences of your decisions.

They say that dying is considered an easy way out, but is it really?

The crew held a meeting and it was pretty much unanimous that they wanted to take in Jewel if she had nowhere to go. While Jewel didn’t refuse, she questioned why they cared about what happened to her. The way she saw it, she didn’t deserve to be alive, though she also didn’t want to come across as ungrateful to those who risked their lives to save hers. Landry made it pretty clear that the offer wasn’t a transactional thing and that she should only accept because it’s what she wants, not because she felt that she owed them. In other words, she has to decide for herself, not what she thinks will make others happy.

Having been in the same position herself, it makes sense that Fionna would be able to reach out to Jewel. Although she wasn’t actively suicidal, Fionna was at such a low point where she didn’t care whether she lived or died because her troubles were piling on and she didn’t know what to do. Instead of dealing with their problems, they ignore them, preferring to run away rather than admit their mistakes. It’s a dangerous downwards spiral that’s difficult to get yourself out of, especially because you don’t realize that you’re in trouble until you’re in too deep. To some, they fall into this trap that they’re always doomed to fail because it seems like there’s no way out of this mess.

That said, even if it seems endless, and even when you yourself caused your own misfortune, your troubles will eventually pass. To quote a certain fortune teller, “Bad times are just times that are bad.” Sure, your problems won’t go away overnight, but no matter how bad a situation is, there will always be some sort of solution. Of course, depending on the situation, you have to work at it, and that’s often easier said than done. Some people just don’t want to work at it, preferring an easy way out so they probably don’t have to think too much about the consequences of their actions.

Fionna was given two choices when she woke up, which were, to put simply, live or die. At the time, she reluctantly chose to live, not just by breathing, but also by rebuilding her life from the ground up. She’s emphasized that she got lucky with things like a reduced sentence in a prison that’s actually more like a rehabilitation center, along with a good support system that really wanted her to pick herself up again. It became clear to her later on why they chose to send her there rather than some actual prison, and she’s grateful to them for that.

Even after serving her sentence, Fionna chose to stay as a staff member because she found meaning in her life over there and wanted to help others like they did for her. She might have overstayed her time there, but that’s another story. She mentioned that she was a flighty person back then, which contributed to her inability to put much effort into things because she just didn’t see the point. In other words, when the going gets rough, she gets going in the opposite direction.

It seems like Fionna’s heart to heart did Jewel a lot of good. She admits that she’s still on the fence about whether or not she wants to live, so she’s taking Fionna’s advice and playing it by ear. Laufey noted that after that talk, Jewel began acting more like her old - real - self and her recovery drastically improved. Her reasoning was along the lines of “I’m tired of fucking things up, I just want to do something right for once.”, which I think is a good reason to keep on going. Take control of your life rather than have it control you.

Along with the berries, there was another reason why the Epiphany’s visiting the Nightingale Nebula. A couple years ago, one of Della’s friends was murdered and her case had been unresolved until now. However, there’s been speculations that have been going around for a while that one of Della’s former superiors from the Eagle Stellarons is responsible. It wasn’t until during a recent fight with her old man that he accidentally revealed some things about the former captain that could potentially open up a can of worms, so to speak.

Della’s friend was basically killed for criticizing the Eagle Stellarons. As for how she met Della, it started out as an online friendship, then they found out that they weren’t too far from each other, so started hanging out in person. Marina was the one who opened Della’s eyes to her faction’s glaring faults and it was clear that her colleagues did not like that.

According to Yang and Della, it wasn’t like Marina was strongly opposed to the Eagle Stellarons, nor was she trying to be an activist, she just had some opinions and wasn’t afraid to voice them online. She didn’t have any ties to certain organizations or higher ups, she was just an ordinary person from an ordinary family, so the chances of her murder being a random occurrence was highly likely.

Since Marina was her only friend outside of the Eagle Stellarons, it makes sense why Della wanted to get to the bottom of this. She had a nagging feeling that she might have been responsible, though she couldn’t figure out why. She tried to reach out to Marina’s family, but aside from her mother, the other family members didn’t see the point in trying to get closure, which she doesn’t blame them for.

And not surprisingly, her colleagues were saying things along the lines of, “Why do you care about some nobody?” I think the appropriate response would be along the lines of, “Because they are somebody, someone who was once living and breathing just like we were.” Believe it or not, we do mean something to at least one person - it’s not like we exist in a vacuum.

So it turns out that Della’s former captain is a fucking creep for various reasons, and he apparently might be a serial killer. Damn. Della said he could never take criticism well, but she didn’t think he would resort to silencing those who he didn’t see eye to eye with. Out of all his known victims, only two aren’t affiliated with the Eagle Stellarons in any way - he only found out Marina and the other person through stalking his subordinates on social media.

There’s obviously a lot more to it, but Della has no interest in finding out more. She never saw eye to eye with him on pretty much anything, not to mention that he was often bullying and harassing her. Whatever happens to him, she doesn’t care as long as he rots in hell while his victims get the justice they deserve.

Now with that out of the way, Della’s been working up the courage to visit Marina’s mother again, preferably with the two of them alone. She was understandably hesitant because of her ties with the Eagle Stellarons, which is understandable. After all, around these parts the view of the Eagle Stellarons were somewhere between neutral and somewhat critical.

While we got a head start on picking berries, she went off on her own. A couple hours later around lunchtime she returned in much better spirits. Marina’s mother was alone and she was understanding of the whole situation, as well as grateful that Della came all this way to see her. As it turns out, she had been following the news of the Stellarons downfall and was aware that Della played a role in that. Now that’s one less thing weighing on her shoulders.

The berry picking was a lot of fun! Since they grow on really tall trees, we have to ride towering snowbeasts to reach the branches! Just as the name implies, they are massive! You have to get on a super tall platform into order to get on, and for a shorty like me, I needed a small ladder to get a bit of a boost. Along with being tall, they’re also wide enough to seat two people as well as small baskets for us to collect the berries.

As for the view up above, it was amazing! I was afraid that since we were on an animal it was gonna be wobbly, but it’s surprisingly steady. Obviously you can feel the platform move when it walks, and even then it’s not too terrifying. Plus, we have to stop to pick berries. It was a little scary being so close to the branches because you’re basically screwed if we move and something gets caught. Fortunately, nothing of that sort happened and it didn’t take long for me to get used to it.

Overall, it’s a totally unique experience that I would highly recommend if you’re comfortable with heights, as well as getting up close and personal with a bunch of trees, which I think is worth it for the berries they have to offer!

4. Fav character/subject that’s a bitch to draw:

Zhou Ying from Tai Sui!! I know he's literally a book character with no specific canon appearance, but I accidentally created a massive challenge for myself in designing/drawing him lmao.

I really like the face I've landed on for drawing Xi Ping from the same novel, and since he's supposed to be beautiful in a sharp, overbearing type of way, I tend to draw him with a thinner face and a very prominent chin and cheekbones. And I think that look suits him! The problem with that is that Zhou Ying is supposed to look a lot like Xi Ping, especially in the lower part of their faces, except, especially early in the novel, he's also notably thinner and frailer. He's also got his sort of spooky, all-knowing placid eyes. Yet he's supposed to be beautiful! How do I take a face that's already 70% chin and cheekbones, make it even bonier to an unhealthy degree, give it unsettling eyes, and yet retain the sense of beauty? I haven't quite figured that out yet lmao.

I also struggle a lot with either emulating Jun Mochizuki's art style or translating her character designs to my own, which I why I rarely draw fanart for VnC despite absolutely adoring the series. I'm trying to get better at that though!

7. A medium of art you don’t work in but appreciate

Two answers here. The most immediate and obvious one is digital art in general, since I work pretty much entirely traditionally. I'm always so impressed by the kinds of lighting and color effects that I see in work by people with access to things like photoshop layer adjustments. I know "digital art" is almost an absurdly broad category, but god there are some very impressive pieces out there done entirely with my good friend the computer.

Also, I adore papercraft/papercut art. Every time I see something really intricate made out of cut paper, my brain just, like, short-circuits in awe. It's so cool!! Speaking of Tai Sui, one of my all time favorite pieces of Tai Sui art is this Xi Ping by Yutaan here on tumblr. If you really want to see some really cool papercraft, Yutaan's stuff in general is incredible imo.

17. Do you eat/drink when drawing? if so, what

Not really, no. Since I'm almost entirely a traditional artist, I'm really paranoid about food getting stains on my paper 😔. Even stuff you think is stain free, like, say, a pretzel, can result in unexpected grease spots if you're not careful. So I generally try to keep snack time far away from whatever I'm drawing.

I do drink water when I draw, since I'm pretty much always drinking water no matter what I'm up to, but I have to be careful to keep the glass somewhere that I'm confident can't spill onto my paper. I've definitely gotten water stains on a lot of sketchbook pages in the past lol.

21. Art styles nothing like your own but you like anyways

I was just talking about this with some friends last night! One of my oldest and dearest friends is the artist troubled cryst, which I find hilarious because our art processes are exact polar opposites lmao. I am an incredibly slow artist, prone to spending hours inking fairly simple drawings as I fuss over line weights and try to perfect tiny details in pencil before I ink them. I lean hard into the fussy and painstaking side of things. I also just adore black ink and will fit about as much of it into a drawing as I can. The ink is very much the main character for me, and color's just kind of a bonus.

Meanwhile, my bestie Meg Troubledcryst is, in the best possible way, kind of fast and loose as an artist. Her pieces are full of color and movement, with an emphasis on that expressive motion, and her lineart tends to be on the free and sketchy side. I know from talking to her that she hates to spend too long fussing over any one drawing or any one part of a drawing if she can avoid it. She can probably crank out two fully colored, good-looking pieces in the time it'd take me to do one effortful round of lineart lmao. But I love her stuff! I think it's really cute that we're such different artists even though I more or less started learning how to draw as a tween because of her art.

I also adore paintings that do a lot of work with light and color, despite the fact that I am, as established, a black ink girlie in my own art. Current obsessions are these sky paintings by autoneurotic and these oranges by itsc.

Anway, as a bonus for being nice enough to send me an ask, here's a little sneak peak at a couple of my wips.

ok you ask so i Will Be Elaborating. i have notes, wikis open, you know. the shit. i could probably give citations to most of those claims, but some of them are just based on vibes. maybe headcanons. i am honestly unsure at this point.

let's start with the obvious: yes, in my brain Wriothesley is Phoenix Wright-coded, while Neuvillette is Miles Edgeworth-coded. let me explain that first.

their appearance seems to match; both pairs have this "polar opposites" thing that i'll be coming back to frequently, but you can see it first in their design. while narumitsu goes for the funky blue-magenta, wriolette is classy white&blue-black&red (i know they both have greys/blacks but it's about the Themes).

well, Wriothesley and Phoenix might have an opposing color scheme, but they're actually kinda similar. the artstyles wary wildly, but in my head their hairstyles have at least the same vibe. i honestly think if we put a hat and a tracksuit on Wriothesley he would look very similar to Phoenix in Apollo Justice. they are both very much dog-coded (Wriothesley is a fucking cerberus or a werewolf or whatever. Phoenix is a golden retriever. unless you count his Apollo Justice era. then maybe like an evil dingo or smth)

they were both connected to law somehow since they were children (as, respectively, a murderer/convict and... uhh a kid who was accused of stealing some money? but you know, the tonal difference has to be there, Wriothesley is much more of a tragic character since the beginning, but Phoenix gets some more fucked up lore later). they both had hard experiences that left them with trust issues that they both cope with through humor and general snark.

Apollo Justice era Phoenix reminds me the most of Wriothesley here: they are both seen as criminals even though their situations are quite nuanced. their morals are quite flexible and they both do things that aren't really "by the book" for the greater good or to satisfy their own morals, even if they prefer not to. both Wriothesley and Phoenix survived a lot of physical trauma and have good pain tolerance/endurance.

they are both seen as laid back, dependable, sarcastic and sometimes kind of goofy. they are both big softies at heart and like children a lot, neither of them runs away from a bit of kids' tomfoolery. sometimes they even seem/act a bit fatherly (Wriothesley mostly to Sigewinne/the fortress occupants at large; Phoenix towards his little family of misfits and Trucy, ofc). what connects them especially is the general guard-dog vibe they give off - i don't think they could stop it even if they tried, and that makes them especially fucked up.

Neuvillette and Edgeworth are both seen kind of like dignified older men (even when Edgeworth really isn't). they are always seen in elegant clothing and they both even wear a jabot!!! also they both have an old person hair color. Neuvillette's design is funkier, but Edgeworth also dabs in some aristocratic details (at least in his von Karma era).

they are both kind of old souls (more or less literally) - seen by others as serious, unfeeling and stately. they are both largely unfamiliar with the more emotional and empathetic parts of themselves, or rather they don't have a great understanding of them, even though they both clearly feel A Lot. they are generally seen as complex, aloof and awkward.

they are both mostly referred to by their last name (did you know that no one knows Neuvillette's first name?), they act distant and cold because of... reasons. they are both in clear positions of power in the court of law, and Neuvillette even investigated/prosecuted a few times.

but i think that their most important similarity is: they both have a silly little hobby! Edgeworth loves Steel Samurai, while Neuvillette enjoys water tasting - i think both of those make them seem more... like real people. humanizes them.

both relationships have this "polar opposites that need each other to work at all" theme; narumitsu, of course, as defense vs prosecution in court of law, meanwhile wriolette is more of judgement vs correction as two parts of a whole - after one person sentences, the other manages the prisoners, tries to rehabilitate and have them rejoin society... or whatever Wriothesley is cooking honestly.

it couldn't be said that they met in the same circumstances, but just as narumitsu, wriolette first met during the trial in which Wriothesley/Phoenix was accused. both pairs have deep personal relationships forged on trust. there's also that theme of fighting for each others reputation, though flipped (Neuvillette for Wriothesley's title as the duke/Phoenix for Miles' as the Demon Prosecutor)

(i think its also funny how the four characters kind of uhh. fit together? we have a defense attorney, a prosecutor, a judge and a prison warden - no doubles! all roles taken!)
