controversial take but just cuz jude is a nerd doesn't mean he gets beat up all the time. i feel like if anything he is the person who causes the most problems at school. idk if u ever watched donnie darko but the protag is p schizophrenic and ends up flooding the school due to one of his delusions. jude should be that kid that constantly ends up having the police called on him and getting suspended multiple times, and is generally known as the kid u should be cautious around.

YOI GET ME. he would not work in some high position like in the government or as any teacher of any kind. if anything hed barely be able to keep a job and the only jobs hed ever get would be like... janitor or cashier. constantly on the run from everyone he loves only staying in one place a few months at a time because he thinks theyre spying on him and trying to keep him away from the truth by putting him in the psych ward.

on judes school life: joey is bullied a lot iirc and i definitely think jude would be too. being transmasc AND being autistic in 1995 hes cooked. in his younger years hed be bullied a lot for the way he is and i think this would result in a lot of lashing out. hurting other students and being suspended a lot because of it. he does seem like a smart kid though. hed be the 'pleasure to have in class beside behavioral issues' type. eating lunch with teachers because nobody in his school wants to be near him because hes scary and weird. he wouldnt get beat up though if anything hes the one hurting other kids like i said. someone calls him weird and leaves with 2 broken bones and a target on their head for months.

i think part of the reason joey would be bullied is for her little brothers behavior issues. jude does get better with it as he gets older but he still has outbursts obviously. at around 11-12 he stops with his constant angry outbursts and after that they are rare but worse than anything he ever did as a young kid. shit like you said-- flooding the school, setting fires, getting into fights, getting the police called on him, ect ect. the police especially fuels his paranoia about government and authority figures. also the older he gets the more his delusions worsen-- as a young kid it was mostly because of his father leaving and his mother dying and his bottled up anger at his dad, but because nobody not even adults and people who are supposed to help him recognize that he continues bottling it all up and also doesnt have anyone to tell about his very obvious schizophrenia symptoms so he never gets medicated for it. im kind of running in circles but my Point is hes very heavily bullied in his early years and later on he still is but mostly everyone is too scared of him to do it directly. they talk amongst themselves when he walks by saying somethings wrong with him and he needs to be put in the looney bin and all of this only fuels his delusions that everyone is against him and out to get him even more.

also elaborating on his adult life-- i think again if he tries to fit in with normal people he would barely be able to keep a job and the only jobs that would take him would be like... cashiers at middle of nowhere gas stations or janitors for restaurants on edges of town that nobody visits because the employees are all strange. in his mind his *real* job is being a paranormal investigator, which he does VERY diligently. he investigates anything out of the ordinary-- haunted houses, alien and cryptid sightings, ect... if he goes full cryptid and fucks off from society he would live in a bunker in the woods. underground bunker only he knows of stocked up on canned food and growing his own fucked up plants to eat. comes out every 6 months to walk 10 miles to the nearest walmart and buy a shitton of frozen meat to last him the next 6 months. either built the place himself or refurbished an old nuclear fallout shelter. either way he paid for it all with cash that he stole from the half harley manor when he left. assuming hes 13 in 1995 he would be 27 in 2009 when the world ends. he wouldnt even make it to 30. i ALSO feel like he predicted 4/13. type of guy to dig through skaianet archives and documents that he found looking to see if aliens are real and finds a deadly prophecy that only worsens his delusions. he would already be terrified of end of the world scenarios but the very real threat coming in 2009 would make one of his delusions true and probably make him think the rest are too. if he was right about the world ending, it isnt a stretch to say people would be stalking him and spying on him and trying to prevent him from getting the truth out, right?

ive gotta watch donnie darko to fuel my jude autism even further... ive been told id like it but i havent watched it yet. i have to get on that soon. everyone start making donnie darko jude art NOW. and in general acknowledge judes schizophrenia more. my final message. good bye

DUDE YEA like people seem to hc jude like he'd be working in the FBI or with NASA like dude Jude is mentally ill as hell chances are hes isolating himself to the maximum, constantly visiting pysch wards for psychotic episodes, and can barely keep a job especially with his track record for delusions. not to say he cant have a job but i think itd be really fricking difficult. ideally he is surviving off the grid.

The hope aspect theory vs what i believe is reality:

One of the most irritating things I’ve seen almost everywhere in classpecting theories is that Hope means... not a lot. Most aspects have a few meanings, light can mean knowledge, luck AND money. Breath can mean freedom, literal wind, detachment, dissociation. Stuff like that, there’s multiple ways it can manifest in a character making the aspecting portion a bit “loose.”

But when it comes down to hope usually I see it summed up as “beliefs, optimism, positivity.” Which... is easy to do, but I really REALLY really don’t think it’s accurate. It makes sense why people think this though, in the way we see Jake manifest hope, and when we hear people talk to Jake about what hope “should be” that’s essentially what’s described. It’s warmness and optimism and never ending. But I also know those are usually described to Jake in comparison to things he’s doing wrong. Hope and rage specifically get a lot of morality pushed onto them in canon and in fanon because of stuff like this but genuinely we just need to give an objective look at the characters in the hope aspect.

Jake is fixated and obsessed on anything make believe, comic books, movies, tv shows, and in the epilogues we find out he’s a hoarder. Even as Jake Harley Jude/Joeys AND Jades entire houses are filled to the brim. Stuff, distractions, toys, things he can “escape” to. Jake also has a drinking problem, more escapism. Jake himself is the closest thing we get to a “pure” hope player, and even then he’s a page. We never see his full potential UNTIL Aranea hopesplodes him, and there we see BGD become real and quote a movie. Jake himself doesn’t seem to positive, happy, hopeful, any of that. He’s reduced to essentially an empty shell prattling off random quotes he’s picked up from living on an island and watching TV as his socializing.

Cronus’s entire personality comes from an extremely fictionalized version of greasers based off of, well, grease. His backstory is entirely based off of harry potter. Cronus’s role as a bard he tends to flip flop between rage and hope’s behavior. Being otherkin especially at the time he was created was often mocked as being escapism and a way to ignore real mental issues.

I won’t include Eridan all too much since his example DOES portray the whole “hope beliefs positive optimism” thing, but Eridans role as the prince is also reflected in a lot of his behavior. He mostly seems to hate anything too jokey or non serious. He likes magic and wizards but is extremely insistent on the fact that it is not real, doesn’t matter and doesn’t exist.

The hope aspect to me seems like instead of being about happy feelings and pure hope and belief, it feels more like it’s imagination. Anything that isn’t the reality in front of you. Whether it be escaping from your problems, focusing on religion/beliefs, being very fixated on fiction, having an over active imagination, or having a tendency to lie. Which would also parallel rages cynicism and acceptance of fear. I’m not saying Hope can’t be any of those things, but I feel like all of those things can’t JUST be the aspect. Then we’d have an extremely disproportionately positive aspect, that’d mean we’d just have one singular “inherently good” godtier. In my opinion it also fits all three hope players we’ve seen canon examples of. (I don’t include hiveswap and never will.)

Rage and Hope are two very hard aspects to write about in the first place because the only examples we have other than Jake in both those aspects are destructive classes, which ghost the opposite aspect and exist to examplify the negatives of their aspect. But I feel like a lot of hope theorizing came from before Jake English was as anything but a... “Maybe” character, like he ad some potential that wasn’t there but for the time being he’s just an annoying comic relief character. Instead of being full the way he is. Fanon was really hard on Jake especially like pre 2018, and I feel like that was reflected a lot in the way Hope’s written about.

any thoughts on jude harley you haven't shared

Nah, I haven't reached the treehouse in my replay yet. Putting aside that I only played like an hour today after a week of not touching the game, I'm spending a long time in each room to observe the art, since the juxtaposition of background elements is part of the storytelling. Slow going.

Most interesting tidbit from today was that the winged bear-clock is next to a portrait of a lion, both of which have their claws raised to strike. So I started wondering if the huge set of horns atop the frame of the painting were being compared to wings...? Especially since there's another set of horns on the other side of the bear, wide-flat moose horns that fan out in about as winglike a manner as horns can. Made me wonder if the Nitrams' huge horns are connected to their wings...? Even though that'd contradict the reading of Tavros’s intro where phallicized horns are (symbolically) the obstacle to feminine wings... another painting in the living room features a (dead, hunted) water buffalo whose horns look just like Pa's mustache, which seems to affirm the masculine association? More locally, I'm not sure if the mustache makes the depiction of the hunt gay (since Pa's game trophies are juxtaposed with blue ladies, the conquest is sexualized) or suicidal (the mustache-horns lets us read the buffalo as Pa's own corpse).

Neither of these would tell me much about Joey, who's being focalized here -- though I sort of suspect that Pa is functioning as Joey's shadow self, since her apparent rejections of his aggressive hobbies seem to function as duplicitous representations (repression? in the sense of dreamwork) of that same aggression. One Piece does the same thing, cluing readers into the symbolic status of a protagonists' artifacts through their assigned villain (ie the battle with Krieg indicates that Baratie was always an abstraction of a warship)

But yeah, nothing on Jude yet. I have a nibble of a hunch regarding what Hiveswap's doing with the X-Files references, but I'll wait until I actually reach Jude to lay that out...

Costume Shopping

Prompt Day 20 (mortal world) Costume Shopping combined with Day 18 (Elfhame) “maybe being a monster was my calling”. “I really fucking hate Halloween.” Cardan and Jude had joined Heather, Vivienne, and Oak on their search for costumes for the holiday, and this was the fifth time that Vivi had scared her girlfriend in the hour since they’ve been in the store. 

“I don’t,” Cardan grinned as he helped his future sister-in-law up from where she had fallen on the ground. “In fact, it might just be my favorite mortal holiday. Can you guess why?” 

“Because you can wear your tail!” Cardan shot Jude a look, not expecting her to have shouted out an answer that loud, especially when she wasn’t even the one being addressed. He shouldn’t have been surprised though, his darling Jude was always placing herself in conversations where she was unneeded, or unwanted.

He had to take a double take as Cardan looked over at his girlfriend, caught unaware by the mask covering her face. Half of the mask looked normal, just a face, pretty, but not in comparison to his Jude. The other half, however, was all bloody and ripped apart, a rubber knife sticking out where the eyebrow should be. It was probably the scariest mask Cardan had ever seen on his wife, the fear only accented by the assortment of weapons, all real, that Jude had strapped over her body. Of course, there would be no glamours for Jude in a Halloween store, when everybody would think that the weapons were fake.

As he stared at Jude, Cardan felt a tugging on his coat, and he looked down to find Oak staring up at him. “Cardan, doesn’t Jude look really scary? Doesn’t she look awesome?” At 11 years old, he was very excited to celebrate his third Halloween in the mortal world. Much like Cardan, Oak loved that he didn’t have to wear glamours covering his horns, and he could be himself without anybody giving him weird looks. It was the same for Cardan, who purposely chose costumes for this holiday that accented his tail. 

“Yeah, Oak, she looks just like a monster.” Jude pulled off the mask and stuck her tongue out at Cardan, even as she grabbed another monstrous mask, this one mimicking the clown from the mortal movie series, It, with Jude had dragged him to a year ago. 

“Maybe being my monster is my calling. It would certainly explain my affinity for weapons.” 

“Indeed it would, my sweet villain.” Cardan reached over to plant a kiss on Jude’s lips, as she hummed her approval. 

“Ew! Gross! Jude, why are you torturing me. I’m supposed to be your favorite brother.” Oak shook his hand, faking a gag even as he laughed. 

“You’re my only brother, you fool.” Jude laughed along with her brother, the sound filling Cardan with joy. He loved these moments, watching Jude relax and joke with her family, something she rarely does in Elfhame. 

“Hey Oak, look at what I found!” Vivi appeared from between a rack of costumes, holding up a superhero costume, Bat-something, but Cardan couldn’t be too sure. 

“Is that a Batman costume?” Oak asked excitedly. “That’s what I want to be for Halloween! Thanks Vivi, you’re the best!” Vivi smiled broadly, as Jude stuck her tongue out in their direction. 

Gods, Jude’s tongue. Cardan could think about that tongue forever, especially places where she could put it, places- Nope, this wasn’t the time or place for these thoughts. As Cardan returned to the present, he noticed everybody looking at him. 

“Did I miss something?” There was a glimmer in Jude’s eyes, but it was Heather who asked the question, from where she was standing, Vivi’s arm around her waist.

“What are you going to be for Halloween?” 

“Myself, of course, in all my wicked faerieness.” He smirked, mostly for Jude’s amusement. It worked, because she laughed, before moving to his side, the masks on the shelf forgotten. 

“Then maybe I’ll be myself, hmm. How does ‘Sexy Killer Queen’ sound?” Cardan certainly liked the sound of that. 

“As long as there aren’t any masks concerned, I’m in full support. Now, if you plan on wearing a mask, we might have to have a discussion.” Jude only pinched his ass, causing Cardan to flinch a little. The pain wasn’t unpleasant, and from the look on Jude’s face, she was certainly going to be using the move in the bedroom tonight. 

“Yeah, Viv, no scary costumes,” Heather said. “Let’s do something sweet, like peanut butter and jelly, or salt and pepper.”

“But Heather, salt is scary for me,” Vivi laughed. “Let’s join Oak and his super hero antics. Do you want to be Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy?” She hugged her girlfriend, a pout on her face, but a laugh in her eyes. 

Heather grinned, Oak yelling out in excitement over the fact that his second moms were going to join his theme. Cardan laughed, ruffling Oaks hair, feeling his little horns even though they were glamoured from sight. 

With costumes in hand, Cardan and Jude excluded since theirs were going to come out of their own closets, the group made their way to the register. Heather paid, being the only one with honest, mortal money and they exited the shop.

Oak sighed, “Vivi, can I wear my costume now? I want to be a super hero forever.”

“Sorry buddy, but Halloween is still a week away… You’ll have to wait so that it doesn’t get dirty or rip.” 

Oak hung his head, “Okay.” It was sad, and Cardan felt the impulse to give the small boy a hug. He did, of course, and Jude did too before they parted ways, Heather, Vivi, and Oak towards their apartment, while Jude and Cardan returned to Elfhame. 

One more week. Cardan couldn’t wait.

Xefros' Daymare

Well my dudes, I already wrote a fanfic about Dammek having a daymare, so this time Xefros is the one to have a daymare.

Some Background Information: This takes place after the events of Hiveswap, wherein Xefros and Dammek leave their lives on Alternia behind to start fresh (Joey is the one to persuade Xefros into coming back to Earth with her) and stay in Earth. They are now living at the Half-Harley Manor with Joey and Jude. Now that Dammek and Xefros don't have to do Dammek's rebellion, Dammek now devotes his life to spend time with Xefros and has learned how to treat him right (especially after getting yelled at by Joey).

Additional Notes: Dammek and Joey are kismesis, and Xefros and Dammek are no longer moirails, but matesprits instead.

Ever since Joey was able to convince Xefros to come to live on Earth with her and her brother, Jude, he has been much happier with his now matesprit, Dammek. The two were able to reconcile after Xefros broke off their Moirallegiance for a few months. They recently got back to dating and officially became matesprites. Xefros had flushed feelings for Dammek since the very beginning, but decided to never tell him in fear of being told that Dammek didn't feel the same and would reject him. So Xefros was extremely surprised (and relieved) when Dammek revealed to Xefros that he indeed felt the same. Since they're no longer having to rebel against Trizza, Dammek now treats Xefros right and they spend a lot of time together.

It was a peaceful night at Half-Harley Manor. Everybody was asleep and the manor was a quiet as can be. Dammek and Xefros share a room together and share a bed. Dammek was sleeping just fine, but Xefros was whining softly under his breath in his sleep.

Xefros: sure! what is it?

Dammek: so i've been thinking...

Dammek: about our relationship together.

Xefros' bloodpusher sank. Uh oh...

Xefros: oh... uh...

Dammek nodded.

Dammek: yes.

Dammek: i think...

Dammek paused for a sec, breaking eye contact with Xefros.

Dammek: we should break up.

Xefros covered his mouth in shock.

Xefros: what?

Xefros: w-why?

Dammek: xeFros, you know i like you a whole lot, but i'm not always gonna have time for you!

Xefros: b-but you said youd always have time for me...

Dammek: that was then, xeFros. things change, y'know?

Xefros' eyes started to well up, burgundy tears threatening to run down his cheeks.

Dammek: i'm sorry, xeFros, but we're done.

Xefros: dammek please

Xefros: dont you DARE leave me!

Xefros was full on crying now, grabbing Dammek by his hoodie sleeve. Dammek was refusing to make eye contact.

Xefros: i-i love you!!! im IN LOVE with you!

Xefros: please!

Xefros: i dont want you to go

Xefros: i love you, i love you, i love you, i love you, i love you, i lov-

Xefros was interrupted when Dammek suddenly yanked his arm out of Xefros' tight grip, which made Xefros fall backwards onto his back. Xefros yelped in pain.

Dammek was now crying as he leaned over Xefros' body currently on the ground.

Dammek: enough!

Dammek: i said we're done! what part of that are you not getting, huh?!

Dammek: just leave me alone, dammit!

Xefros was still laying on his back, looking up at Dammek with blurry vision. Burgundy tears are now violently falling down his cheeks and onto the ground below him. Xefros only whimpered in response to Dammek shouting at him.

Dammek: ...goodbye, xeFros.

Xefros' eyes widened when he heard this, swiftly jolting up into a sitting position, ignoring the pain in his possibly broken back. Xefros suddenly started to scream at Dammek's now disappearing form as Dammek was walking away from Xefros.

Xefros: DAMMEK!!!!

Xefros: NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO DAMMEK PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DONT LEAVE ME PLEASE!

Xefros stopped screaming when he realized Dammek probably can't hear him anymore. He lie back onto his back as he cried silently to himself.

Xefros awoke with a scream.

Xefros: DAMMEK!!!!!!!!

Suddenly, Dammek started moving frantically in the bed, jumping to his feet.

Dammek: xeFros?! what the Fuck happened?!

Xefros was crying.

Xefros: d-dammek?

Dammek turned around to look at Xefros with wide eyes. Dammek got back up into the bed and nestled next to his matesprit. Dammek grabbed Xefros and held on tight.

Dammek: yeah, i'm right here babe

Dammek: what happened?

Dammek: tell me everything, ok?

Xefros was still crying, but he felt a little better with Dammek holding him tightly.

Xefros: i...

Xefros: i had a daymare

Dammek pulled back from Xefros slightly, looking at Xefros with his beautiful eyes. He had no sunglasses on, which gave Xefros a good chance to look into his eyes, which were glowing green because of the pitch darkness that they are sitting in. Xefros is the only one Dammek allows to see him without his trademark shades on. Dammek is extremely insecure about his eyes, which is why he wears them, but Xefros thinks Dammek's eyes are beautiful. Xefros even prefers seeing Dammek without the shades on. "my eyes are only for you, baby," Dammek has told Xefros.

Dammek: a daymare? about what?

Xefros: y-you dumped me...

Dammek: ...what?

Xefros nodded.

Xefros: you said you no longer had time for me...

Xefros: i-i tried to atop you from leaving me a-and you...

Xefros had to gulp and take a deep breath. Dammek rubbed Xefros arms up and down in reassurance.

Dammek: it's okay. tell me more baby.

Xefros: ...y-you started to scream at me telling me to leave you alone and i screamed and screamed for you but you wouldnt come back no matter how loud i screamed...

Xefros: i just...

Xefros: dont want you to leave me!!!!

Dammek jumped at Xefros' sudden shouting, but quickly recovered and sat up a little and straddled Xefros' lap. Dammek put one finger underneath Xefros' chin, forcing Xefros took look at him. Dammek was scowling.

Dammek: hey.

Dammek: look at me, baby. listen carefully For me, ok?

Xefros nodded.

Dammek: xeF, you know that'll never happen. i'll always have time for you. i will not leave your side, no matter what happens.

Dammek: i am not perFect, but i really am trying. i love you so much, always have. even when i was treating you like shit.

Dammek: of course joey would try and convince you that i didn't care about you, and you believed her and you dumped me. you realized that we were meant to be together, so you came back to me and we started the relationship from Fresh.

Dammek: but joey was right about one thing. i was not a good moirail to you. sure i cared about you, but i was too caught up in that stupid rebellion to give you the time we should've spent together. i was selFish. i was bossy and put you through dangerous shit, not caring about the consequences. i hurt you so many Fucking times but you never realized it because of how much you looked up to me. i took advantage of that because i knew you'd always come back to me. jude helped me realize a lot of things, xeFros. he helped me realize that a TRUE Friend wouldn't do the things i did to you. i am glad i came to earth. if the portal wouldn't have activated, we would still be rebelling and i'd still be treating you like shit. hell, we wouldn't even be matesprits right now!

Dammek: so in short, i was a shitty person who didn't treat you right.

Dammek released Xefros chin, putting his hand on Xefros' waist.

Dammek: you are literally the best person in my liFe, you always have been. even back then.

Dammek: i love you so Fucking much, baby. you have no idea.

Suddenly, Xefros shifted and pushed Dammek down into the bed and into the mattress. Xefros was covering Dammek's face in kisses. Dammek laughed.

Dammek: xeFros!!

Xefros made his way from Dammek's face to Dammek's throat, splaying kisses all over there too. Dammek gasped a little, wrapping his arms around Xefros with a growl and bared fangs, as if to protect him. Joey and Jude didn't wake up to Xefros' screams. Dammek didn't really have a reason to growl and show of his fangs like that since Joey and Jude mean no harm at all. He still kinda thinks Joey means harm, but he guesses this is normal since they're now in a black relationship. But Dammek still does this whenever anyone harms his friends.

Xefros stopped kissing Dammek's neck. Dammek still has his arms around Xefros. Damnek buries his head in Xefros' neck, purring.

Xefros: thanks, dammek

Xefros: i feel so much better now...

Dammek's reply was slightly muffled, but Xefros understands him anyways.

Dammek: anything for you, baby.

Dammek and Xefros part.

Dammek: wanna go back to bed?

Xefros: sure

Dammek smiled as he got under the covers with Xefros. Dammek opened his arms for Xefros so they can cuddle. Xefros purrs and quickly accepts Dammek's embrace. Dammek pulls Xefros close to him, kissing Xefros on the lips. They locked lips for a few seconds before they broke the kiss. Xefros buries his face into Dammek's neck before finally closing his eyes and falling asleep. Xefros is so grateful to have Dammek in his life.

pa harley is an old old old man and i dont think it would be a stretch to say he is like atleast mildly homophobic because of it. he is clearly bisexual and so is jude but i dont think he really. acknowledges that? iirc jake harley has had relationships with men that never lasted as long as ones with women but i havent checked skaianet archives in a while so dont quote me on that. my point is i think jake has very internalized homophobia and passes that on to jude. jake is somewhat accepting of jude being a trans boy, because if joey wont be his son then he'll take jude. the thing is jake says to be a REAL man jude cant-- not seriously at least-- do any of that homosexual nonsense. jude wants to be a real boy so bad so he does everything his pa says like any kid would.

in short jude is gay and very in denial of it and has extreme internalized homophobia because of jake. he doesnt talk about it with anyone especially not his sister or babysitter so he doesnt really get any help for it. he is ALSO on the aroace spectrum but he doesnt even know the word for that. he just thinks hes weird for not being able to be attracted to women at all and also sometimes not even being able to be attracted to guys!!!

also another thing that helped me come to the conclusion that he would be in denial of being gay and aroace is joey's slight denial of her own sexuality. whether joeys a lesbian or bisexual she clearly likes women. but she seems to be in HEAVY denial she literally calls two gay women (tyzias and stelsa) gal pals.

however, this changed when she turned 16 

got more involved in partying, expirimenting with drugs and eventually hook ups too 

got the nickname ‘the real harley quinn’ for her rebellious and reckless behaviour 

was send to a boarding school by her parents shortly after they found out 

but at the age of 18 odette decided to sign herself out and apply for college

she applied to st jude’s to pursue a career in producing 

the last 2 years has calmed her wild side down a bit, but this is definitely picking up again now that she’s in college

she’s definitely a risk taker and loves to go on adventures

‘rules are meant to be broken’ is one of her mottos that she actually follows

does not want to be associated with her siblings nor her parents anymore

connection mackenzie (and sebastian): even when odette was compared to her older siblings a lot growing up, she used to be very close with them. mackenzie definitely understood and tried to shush the pressure on her, but it never really worked. so she was pretty shocked when odette changed her life around and got send to boarding school. ever since, odette keeps them on a short leash. whenever she needs something, she will show up and be a ‘quinn’, but the moment she’s got what she wanted, she’s back to her old ways.

For this one, perhaps Xefros is the partner/underling of Dammek, who’s a P.I. on an investigation into the Harley family and their fortune by one of their corporate competitors after the death of their patriarch. Joey’s in the middle of trying to shuffle her career as a ballerina and arranging all her father’s final affairs. As well as getting everything ready for the execution of his will. Especially since it was revealed Old Man Harley had another child he was taking care of off in some remote place.

The first meeting was... not great. As it was mostly Dammek harassing Joey in a cafe while Xefros did damage control as best as he could. And Joey annoyed at both of them while Xefros did his best to just hand her their phone number in case she could think of anything to tell them about Old Man Harley.

Leads to a scary night at one point where Joey calls their number because the cops are too far away and their office is fairly close to the house. Because it sounds like someone’s sneaking around outside the manor. And someone smashes in a window just before they arrive, but get scared off when the boys come a knocking. No one gets caught, so Joey begrudgingly hires them for their assistance in figuring out who’s sneaking about, because this has happened before and she’s worried about them going further now Old Man Harley is dead.

Dammek has shenanigans with Jude and Joey has her own investigation with Xefros, and they start catching feelings the longer it goes and the more dangerous it gets.

+Enredo: Na quieta mansão nos suburbios de uma cidade, os irmãos Jude Harley e Joey Claire estavam apenas por lá, brincando com o cachorro da família. De repente a monotonia é quebrada devido a um monstro meio salamandra meio serpente e sem olhos ataca eles em seu quintal. Então uma jornada para saírem da casa e se livrarem dos monstros que entraram em sua casa, Jude tendo subido na casa da árvore e Joey se trancando em seu próprio quarto(recheado de coisas). Nessa aventura, Joey vai passando pela casa enfrentando puzzles até chegar a seu porão sendo ajudada pelo seu irmão, porém ela acaba achando uma máquina estranha nas cores vermelha e lima. Mesmo com as advertências de seu irmão para não mexer na máquina, a mesma acaba ligando e a trocando de lugar com um alienígena-troll de mesma idade, Joey indo para a “”casa”” do ser e vice versa. Assim um pouco após a metade do ato até o resto é Joey interagindo com outro alien e presa na casa que ela foi parar nessa troca. Lá ela descobre um pouco mais sobre algumas coisas implicitamente, como que no planeta que ela parou eles chamam “”casas”” de Hives e etc. Mais puzzles são efetuados na casa do troll que foi enviado a terra, Joey interage com o guardião animalesco do troll e então consegue sair da casa, ajudando Xefros, o melhor amigo do outro alien e que ajudou Joey quando ela apareceu na hive. Eles se encontram e o ato termina com Joey e Xefros montados no guardião de Dammek(troll que a Joey trocou de lugar) e estão indo em direção a casa de uma fã/amiga de Xefros.

+Estilo de jogo: Como mencionado anteriormente, a aventura se baseia em um estilo de point and click(aponte e clique) e a partir disso temos os puzzles provenientes, algo que geralmente sempre acompanha o primerio gênero citado. A gameplay em si é interessante pelas interações de diálogos quando você clica em Easter eggs ou apenas em partes do cenário que te chamaram atenção, entretanto, de certa forma, demorada por certas dificuldades provenientes dos gêneros de puzzles e point and click juntos e pode fazer os jogadores ficarem facilmente presos em algum canto da narrativa. Particularmente isso é um ponto ruim pois o objetivo é contar a história seguindo o enredo, porém pode fazer com que os interesses dos jogadores que não são fãs dos outros conteúdos relacionados se esvaia. Uma parte boa da narrativa é a riqueza de detalhes, cenários bem vivos e com detalhes interessantes, porém há muitos textos e não simplesmente falas, já que os personagens não são dublados e só há caixas de textos para explicação e fala; este ponto pode cortar a energia de alguns jogadores mais sem paciência, porém vale a pena ler os balões da primeira vez que joga. Há combates por aqui também, porém apenas contra os monstros da primeira parte do ato 1, o combate em si não é exatamente um combate, diria que é mais um puzzle que você tem que se livrar dos agressores com ações do que uma luta realmente. Um ponto muito positivo disso tudo são as opções dos objetos, alguns podem ter mais uma opção do que simplesmente “pegar” ou “checar”,  já que na maioria dos objetos tem duas ou mais opções de interação, o que ameniza a jogabilidade e a deixa mais fluída. +Cenário: Correspondente a uma das tags, o cenário é bem recheado de coisa e de detalhes, além de ser bem diverso e por várias vezes colorido, até em palhetas escuras ou que representem a noite. A primeira parte se passa na terra na parte da noite e ao redor de vegetação e etc. Na mansão é uma parte bem caótica, cheio de brinquedos e objetos, isso torna o cenário bem difícil de se lidar com, pois é propicio a confundir mais os jogadores. A casa na árvore de Jude é um cenário igualmente caótico e pode ter puzzles mais difíceis que a Mansão, o interessante aqui é que revela detalhes pequenos porém importantes da personalidade dele. A hive de Dammek é bem mais vazia que a mansão e a casa na árvore, provavelmente por status sociais, porém a pouca coisa é bem bagunçada e desorganizada o que da a impressão de ser muita coisa. Por fim, o último cenário importante é a hive de Xefros, nesse local é algo mais vazio que os outros, talvez por status sociais no planeta alien ou apenas por ele ser o único realmente organizado dos 4 principais.  - Terra: Terra comum, com um cenário mais florestal já que a casa fica afastada da cidade grande.  -Alternia: Este é o nome do planeta alien que a segunda parte do ato se passa. Aqui podemos ver cores de grama diferentes e casas mais otimizadas do que as dos anos 90, com portas automáticas, tablets e etc. A vegetação aqui é uma cor mais escura do que a grama da terra, e Dammek aparenta morar em uma pequena vila ou cidade da parte baixa da hierarquia troll.

+Personagens: - _Principais:

•Joey Claire: Protagonista principal de Hiveswap, uma garota que aparenta ser energética e inteligente, sendo capaz de desviar e evitar os monstros em sua casa. Irmã de Jude e amiga de Xefros.

Joey:

•Jude Harley: Ajudante na primeira metade do ato 1(antes de Joey mudar de planeta) e irmão da protagonista. Um jovem que flui características de um jovem dos anos 90 com muita conspiração ao governo e referências Geeks. Além disso ele tem 3 pombos de estimação que são seus “filhos”, eles são importantes em parte do ato para ajudar Joey a sair da confusão.

Jude:

•Xefros Tritoh: Primerio membro da espécie “troll” que Joey conhece, Xefros estranha o comportamento de seu amigo do outro lado da tela mas mesmo assim decide ajudar Joey sem toda a descriminação de seu planeta. Ele é um garoto alien tímido e medroso, além de ter um toque por limpeza. Possui uma banda com seu melhor amigo, Dammek.

Xefros:

•Dammek [Sobrenome não revelado]: Não muito é sabido sobre ele, apenas temos o que Xefros comenta sobre ele e sua aparência. Aparentemente Dammek é uma pessoa muito protetora e realista, porém parece ser nocivo à seu melhor amigo. Possui uma banda com seu melhor amigo, Xefros.

Dammek:

_Outros(Terra): [Sessão que você pode pular se quiser]

•Pai: Pai de Joey e Jude, ele aparenta ser negligente com os filhos, contratando babás e raramente aparecendo em casa, ao menos isso é o que dá a entender. Aparentemente ele da uma vida “luxuosa” a seus filhos, porém a negligência é tanta que a comida é pouca e tende a acabar. Hábitos de caça e é o guardião proclamado dos irmãos humanos.

Pai: (sem foto)

•A.Claire: Falecida mãe dos irmãos, morreu entre 1983 a 1984, infelizmente não muito é relatado sobre ela, a não ser que Joey parece sentir muito sua falta em segredo.

A.Claire:

•Babá/Roxy Lalonde: A babá contratada pelo pai para cuidar dos filhos dele, ou ao menos chamada para favores, ou seja, sem dinheiro. Não muito é conhecido sobre ela, a não ser que aparentemente ela se dá bem com ambos, especialmente Joey.

Babá/Roxy:

•Tesseract: Leal cachorro da família e dos filhos na mansão, um grande canídeo com pelos brancos e um rosto amigável, é visto para ser uma boa companhia para as crianças além de ser brincalhão e divertido.

Tesseract:

•Frohike: Um dos pombinhos de Jude e o primerio a ser levado, ele é enviado em uma missão para entregar uma peça chave para resolução de puzzle para Joey, porém falha quase ao chegar na casa, sendo devorado por um monstro. (:’( Lágrimas...)

•Langly: O segundo pombinho a ser mandado e também um traidor. Jude depositou suas esperanças nele para enviar o item, porém ele abandonou sua missão e voou para outro lado pela escuridão da noite.

•Byers: O terceiro e último pombinho/mascote de Jude. Ele é amigável aparentemente, e é o único que obtém sucesso com a missão, cumprindo direito as exigências de Jude e entrega a encomenda. :)

Frohike, Langly e Byers:

•Cultos misterioso: Um culto que aparece em um dos cenários de fundo, Jude suspeita que eles estão bisbilhotando pela mansão Harley e são prováveis responsáveis pela aparição dos monstros. Outro ponto é que se acreidta que eles são os relsobevis pro portão no sótão.

•Monstros: Monstros compostos de uma substância negra como pele e dentro parece haver uma substância líquida verde vibrante. Aparentemente são indivíduos híbridos de animais ou conceitos visto que o primeiro é a mistura de uma salamandra e algo com 4 pares de patas, além de uma cobra.

Monstros:

_outro(Trolls):

•Trizza Tethis: Mesma espécie de Xefroz e Dammek, porém como é uma especie de castas, Trizza está na casta mais alta, consequentemente representada por imperadores e “o sangue mais alto”. Ela é dita por ficar muito nas redes e postar sua destruição/massacres nelas, além de postar memes e etc.

Trizza:

•Lusus do Xefros(Zoosmell): Lusus para trolls são seus cuidadores/familiares, porém ao invés de serem adultos da raça são na verdade criaturas domesticadas do próprio planeta para a tarefa. O Lusus de Xefros é parecido com uma preguiça, porém é gigante.

•Lusus do Dammek(Cornibuster): Lusus do Dammek, uma criatura que parece ser a mistura de um servo com algum animal carnívoro.

+Conceitos da história: Tendo em mente que Hiveswap: Act 1 é um material relacionado de outra coisa, sendo ela uma Webcomic nomeada de Homestuck, vários conceitos aqui são reutilizados e até aprimorados pelos desenvomvedores do jogo. Uma delas é a similaridade dos humanos, eles são representados com pele totalmente branca que nem papel e duas opções de cabelo, branco ou preto. Isso serve para os fans terem suas próprias interpretações sobre como é uma aparência mais real aos personagens, além de que é um artifício para a narrativa da comic original e ajuda no desenho. A raça dos trolls é mais complicada, ao mesmo tempo que são baseados em humanos e trolls de internet, estão cada vez se tornando uma raça mais única e exclusiva. Tendo em mente que trolls se auto dividem em castas por sua cor de sangue e por sua vez a cor determina características biológicas, as castas são representadas por signos, sendo que a mais baixa casta se inicia no signo de rust e a mais alta termina no signo de peixes, sendo a realeza. Outra coisa importante de se ressaltar é que os trolls possuem algumas características individuais que reforçam a exclusão, além de serem mais violentos que humanos e ter Morais diferentes e outras coisas diferentes. A comic original é algo voltado para comédia, por isso algumas cores são apenas vibrantes de mais e outras vezes o cenário é maioritariamente branco, porém, como Hiveswap é um jogo, logo algo mais sério, e isso remete a cenários e traços de personagens. Neste âmbito, cabe ressaltar a inspiração e referências diversas a cultura pop e cultura em geral nos anos 80 e 90, além de outras citações referentes a religião, tecnologia e etc. +Músicas e soundtrack: A música dos cenários é bem boa, porém não muito memorável a não ser pelas trilhas dos personagens principais. Os cenários tem temas como é de costume em jogos no geral, porém a OST do jogo não é muito levada em consideração, a música é alienadinha e nunca muito estranha ou fora do padrão. ---- ( ) ---- +Considerações finais: Hiveswap como jogo no geral é bom além de ser uma ótima porta de entrada para conhecimento da comic do criador geral Andrew Hussie, onde sua obra mais bem conceituada é Homestuck. Há muitas coisas boas no jogo, como cenários e música, as coisas ruins porém podem tomar os holofotes para aqueles que não fazem parte do grupinho que já conhece o material. O estilo de jogo pode ser por vezes monótono e persistente, algo que afasta pessoas novas e jogadores novos para o tema abordado no jogo, porém para pessoas que gostam de “aponte e clique” podem gostar do jogo justamente por como ele faz isso, não tendo só uma opção para um objeto como a maioria dos outros do gênero.
