I have a couple of things I need to address before they get out of hand. There’s also some updates in this mix. ༘⋆♡⸝⸝💌⊹。°˖➴

I’m endlessly appreciative of the people who are supportive; the plethora of asks I’ve received that have been sweet and thoughtful have warmed my heart.

I’ve gotten a few messages that go something along the lines of “do ___ or I won’t read your IF” or “thanks for making ___ change, I’ll still be reading” and it’s pissed me off enough to address it.

It’s physically impossible for me to please everyone. Do not send me messages like this. You will be blocked. Yes, even if you’re saying you’re still reading my story. Because you’re not saying it out of interest and out of love for the world I’m creating, you’re saying that because you got your way.

I have different options of approaching my interactions on here. I would prefer to be transparent with you all in my writing process; I also don’t want to create false expectations by not updating you all on ‘major’ story changes. Authors change elements of their story all the time. It's part of the game.

That being said, I have the ability to just write my story and post updates when it’s necessary. There’s no obligation to be interactive. Not ideal for me and my personality type, but if it saves me stress and prevents me from receiving rude, entitled messages, then so be it.

If I need to, I'll turn off anonymous asks for the time being.

To everyone that's sent in their thoughts on MC stat checks or romance routes, I did read all your messages and thank you for your opinions! I didn't respond to all of them, but they are appreciated.

The V romance isn't working and i have to remove them as a triad RO. It's like putting a square peg in a round hole and hoping no one notices. Polyamorous people or people who want to experience a healthy, equal triad relationship deserve better than what the V romance would turn into. With that in mind...

V-type poly with V and MC dating Zero and not each other still works just fine. Any and all MC's can romance Zero, can still fight with V and gain friendship/rivalry with them.

If V is removed as a RO outside of the v-type poly, that means I would add another as an official RO. I'm between Carter and Delphine. Leaning towards Delphine because she's gorgeous and sapphic and I adore her. She would be introduced a few chapters in. Carter and Maggie would remain as flings/possible additions to the group scattered throughout. That would make the official RO's A, C, D, X, Z.

No MC stat checks to initiate any of the RO routes. If there are some incompatibilities, that will be a conversation with the RO and you might get more of a slow burn romance (ex. stoic MC's with C) There might be personality/stat checks to initiate certain moments in the romance (ex. if you're a very sarcastic MC, your RO may not think you mean your affections and you'll have to put in the work to convince them)

I'm gonna get to everyone's asks!! (eventually) I work during the day and I'm writing essays for my medical school applications which take up a lot of my time. So if it's been a while since you've sent your ask, don't worry. I'll get to it! Especially if it's a RO reaction or lore related, those take me much longer to write and cost more energy. But i do love chatting with y'all, so I try to carve out some time for that.

Our Happy Ever After- A fairytale themed vn! The love interests are based off of fairy tale characters. The protagonists, the side characters, and even the villains! But how'd you get to these worlds?

Jondi: Jondi is the first doll you ever made. She's a joyful, loyal and sincere doll. She cares a lot about you and her other doll friends. Her hobby is making her friends smile and laugh.

Aiden: The second doll you made. He's a sweet and gentle plant lover. It's rare to see him without his dearest plant. Often checks up on you. You're one of the people he can speak to without getting super nervous.

Bao: The timid astrologist. Quiet and shy in front of others, talkative in front of the stars. Want to get them to speak, ask about anything space related.

Bartholomew: A mystery. They're quiet and don't talk a lot and the others are kind of scared of them. Ehren's older brother.

Eevi: A clown! They LOOVE making people laugh. Her and Jondi have a playful rivalry. Gets upset when it doesn't make people laugh but it will NEVER give up.

Hello there! Welcome to my rules post! These rules are password protected so please keep an eye out for it! You can send me an ask or DM me the password so I know you’ve read them and want to interact. This is a side blog so asks/follows will come from @sleepytime-muses, url for other blogs will be specified.

General roleplay etiquette applies. No god modding, no controlling my characters, etc. Literate roleplays are my go-to unless they are crack/joking with others and dash commentary. You are not obligated to match my length and vice versa, but do put some effort into the writing! I use icons as well that I make myself and format my lettering. If you want to write and find my formatting difficult to read, just let me know and I will happily use plain text. Also, if you are new to roleplaying/writing on Tumblr, I probably won’t write with you. I also prefer people who use XKit to trim posts and make them better to read. Do not approach me for strictly 18+ roleplays. Do not ask me to write characters for you that aren’t on my muse list, unless so prompted or we’re close. Do not ask me to write your harem for you.

Plotting is important to me, but not absolutely necessary. I enjoy knowing where to push the plot towards for better and more efficient writing. However, I am very capable of spur of the moment interactions so feel free to do either. If we’re mutuals, always feel free to send in ask memes and such I’ve reblogged even if we haven’t interacted before.

With my muses coming from all types of moral backgrounds, please don’t take anything said as beliefs or morals of the mun (Me.) Sometimes bad guys say bad things, sometimes good guys say bad things. If you write a character from a franchise I’m not familiar with, I’m also less likely to write with you. I hate going in the dark when it comes to writing partners. A bio page is a great start for anything oc or non-canon related. Also, I have no issues with people who make self inserts, but I do not write with them at all. Please don’t approach me if your character is a self insert.

Triggering content will be tagged, if you have specific triggers that are uncommon I will tag them for you with a tw [CONTENT] tag. I try to pay attention to other people’s rules and general discomforts, so if I write something you don’t want to see, I’ll do my best to tag. I’m not perfect though, so let me know if I need to do something.

I love shipping. Anything NSFW will be taken to my nsfw blog. This includes adult cartoons or triggering characters that I want to keep off my main. First, I just wanna say that I’m honored that you’re asking for my opinion🥲🖤 Second, thank you so much for reading Growing Strong! That is very sweet of you to say😊 And third, congrats on taking the leap to write! Just this time last year, I had yet to be active on here, so I know the leap can be scary, but it has also been super rewarding.

I could probably go on and on about all the stuff I’ve learned, but I’ll try to keep this short and succinct so it’s more digestible to read.😅 But if you have any follow up questions, or want me to address something more specific that I didn’t mention, please do not hesitate to send me another ask, or even message me. I will gladly talk til the cows come home if there’s even a chance something I say could be of use.

1) Before I mention anything else, in case this resonates with you as much as it does me, my most important piece of advice is this: comparison is the thief of joy. I’m 100% guilty of looking at the stats of other fics on here and AO3 and internally putting my own works down or just feeling bad about myself because of it. It might be tempting to look at other fics to kinda gauge where your own in standing in terms of interaction from others, but I really recommend not doing so if you can help it.

2) On the flip side of number 1, don’t be afraid to look at other fics and see what works. Before anyone @s me, I’m not talking plagiarism. But concepts. For example, an Aemond X OC enemies to lovers fic? That would probably be received well, since it’s a popular trope in a popular fandom right now. But even more technically, don’t underestimate the power of tags. See what tags other authors are using for similar fics in the fandom. That’s gonna be the best way to get the fic out there and seen, especially here on tumblr.

3) Edit and proofread. I’m sure this is an obvious one. But (coming from a reader perspective) this can be a uch an underrated asset to a fic.

4) Don’t get yourself feeling down if there’s not an immediately overwhelming response to your posted fic. If there is, that’s great! If not, that doesn’t mean anything at all, I promise! Depending on the fandom, where the fic is being posted, and how frequently updates for ongoing stories are being uploaded, it can take some time to get a following for it. This is also something I’ve been guilty of. But, if your fic is out there, eventually, people will find it.

5) Respond to comments/asks/even reblogs with commentary. (Unless they’re downright negative and counterproductive. I would not recommend entertaining any of those with a response. Fortunately, I don’t think things like that are frequent much at all.) But if someone leaves a compliment, reply back, even if it’s just to say thanks!😊 When I leave a comment on a fic I really enjoyed, and the author takes a moment to respond, it literally can make my day.

6.) Make some mutuals. A lot of the earliest friends I made on here were authors writing in the same fandom, and even just fellow readers. This is not a requirement by any means, but I can’t understate the value of having people to talk about fandom things with. You can bounce ideas off one another, etc. Plus, friendships formed from a mutual love of something is just👌🏻🖤 And if you already have some mutuals, ask them if they’d like to take a look at what you’ve got going on and if they would be willing to provide some feedback😊

7.) Write for yourself. This is probably related to several of the points I’ve already made, but it can’t be said enough. If you want to write because you truly want to, I believe it’s best to do it for yourself. You might end up spending a lot of time writing something, so it might as well be something that makes you happy. If you only write for likes (nothing against people who do) you might get burned out, and be unable to take any joy from it. But if you write something you love, anyone else who also enjoys it will be icing on top of the cake, since you already made yourself happy by writing it.

8.) Have fun with it. Life is too short not to.

You are NOT overthinking it. Because it truly haunts some of us. I love Keeley. And I love Jamie x Keeley. I love jeeley.

But! I think she has run hot and cold with him. Which isn’t a diss. You are allowed to have complicated feelings about your ex who became kind of a friend who ghosted you before reappearing suddenly to ask advice.

But when he did appear, she was happy to have him back in her life. He said he always thinks of her when he thinks of having talks. And she appreciated that she’d helped him make that change.

Which is why this scene hits a little funny. Because obviously she can’t talk whenever he wants. And player hours are different hours than everyone else’s hours. So a firm boundary is fine to set. It would be good to set.

But she doesn’t do that. She walks him to Sharon and says this is a person who is paid to listen to him talk about his problems. Cause she isn’t paid to do that.

But when you have someone as obviously neurodivergent as Jamie is? That is sending a way different message. He takes things so very literally. And someone who is ostensibly his friend doesn’t say that there is a time or a place.

No, she says that his complaints should only be addressed by someone paid to do so.

And I could be way offbase here. I’m not gonna watch 1.5 seasons to confirm. So please let me know if I’m wrong!

But the next actually meaningful interaction the two have is him saying he loves her and then apologizing for telling her. (“Do you know what you’re sorry for Jamie?”)

The next actually meaningful conversation is his apology about the leak. (“Do you know what you’re sorry for Jamie?”)

And after that? Keeley does as Roy asks and tries to unfuck Jamie’s brain. But she doesn’t ask what’s wrong. And he has learned his lesson about talking to her about his issues. So it goes very off the rails.

The only other times we see him actually addressing issues he has is A) with the coaches about Zava (and they are paid to listen to player concerns); & B) with Roy about Zava (who is, again, a coach so is technically someone paid to talk with Jamie about his playing issues.)

Ted asks what’s wrong when Jamie is visibly freaking out mid-game. And he gets half answers. But it’s still about his game play.

He learns, over and over, that the only thing about him that matters is what he can give to the club. It’s reinforced again and again. Is everyone as haunted as me by “I know you have me best interests at heart. Or the club’s anyway”?

Cause to him they are one and the same. Ted said he had to be a team player so he full on embraced that with his whole being. Which is why he addressed the Zava issue. Which is part of why he took on extra, unpaid training time, to improve his own play.

Not to say he doesn’t have pride and arrogance or a self-involved perspective. But that isn’t all he has. And that comes down to him putting in the work in therapy. So Dr. Sharon isn’t a joke for him. She was a life-raft. A guide. Someone who helped him navigate a time that was hard and confusing. It would be for anyone. But it was especially hard for our little neurodivergent bean.

But, yeah, she was paid to listen to his problems.

remembered how jamie being brought to sharon’s office was treated as a joke / comedic moment. idk. i think we should’ve seen it as a more important scene that wasn’t treated lightly considering how,,,, very evidentially mentally ill and traumatized he is
