“people think eddie’s gay because of his bad relationships with women and that’s problematic” is honestly the most bad faith interpretation of why people headcanon and/or think of eddie diaz as queer.

the way his relationships with women have been is a factor in some of those headcanons (especially when discussing compulsory heterosexuality but that’s a whole different can of worms) but it’s far from the only one and it’s not even the main one for a lot of people, it’s just one of the easiest to point to. (esp the way eddie and ana were written, imo, however not so much with marisol and the whole kim situation, which is clearly about shannon and how he needs to get over this big bump in his life, but i digress).

i just get tired of people deciding everyone who thinks there’s a good case for eddie being queer must be Problemtic™️ or only thinking about their otp or whatever.

the fact of the matter is some queer people do have really complicated shitty relationships until they come to terms with their sexuality and it isn’t problematic or harmful to say that. hold people accountable, for sure, but people - even queer people - are complicated and messy and confused and shitty and implying that it’s problematic or even homophobic to headcanon/think of a messy, complicated, confused, broken person as queer is, quite frankly, offensive.

also it’s so interesting to me that it’s problematic to think Dating A Man might do some good for eddie, if he’s queer, but it’s okay to think dating tommy has helped to heal some parts of buck, that figuring out this part of himself actually did help heal him.

because shockingly, figuring shit out about yourself can help heal you.

it’s the same problem i have with people talking about eddie’s isolation and how some of the discourse around that makes me feel weird because why is the only way for eddie to heal to be isolated away from everything he loves but that’s never been the case for literally anyone else on the show.

idk man. some double standards exist around eddie and it’s weird. if you don’t think eddie is queer that’s fine but it’s insulting to trying and twist queer eddie headcanons into some kind of problematic thing because some of us actually relate to him and the reasons why we think he’s queer are because of that. so.

˗ˏˋ  ( kim jiyeon “kei”. twenty-four. cisfemale. she/her. ) lee aejeong (aya) is a ‘95 liner + has been at so!ar entertainment for ten years. they are the main dancer, lead vocalist + visual in the group impulse. they are known by their fans to be assertive, perceptive + clever but they can also be materialistic, standoffish + vain. i hope that they can make it in this industry. backstory

the middle child of the Lee family, aejeong was never really the center of attention unlike her one older sibling and one younger sibling. 

her grandmother was relatively the only one that favoured her, so the young female always stuck with the elder

has a relatively large family since her parents were divorced; aejeong prioritized material items, seeing as her biological parents both would constantly gift her items for satisfaction.

newsflash: she began to equate love with materialistic gains

the few happy memories she has are when she first discovered ballet and  begged her mother and her father to let her enroll

she worked tirelessly and arduously to catch up with the people of her age, having missed out on starting early and therefore, she was considered a late bloomer for classical ballet

she craved to learn more than just classical, keen on joining contemporary ballet & dance

thanks to her previous works in classical ballet, it made her ascent into the new classes much easier to learn

her nana encouraged her to audition several entertainment companies, having already sent a couple of recordings to Cube, Source Music, So!ar, and DSP, except only So!ar had been the one to accept her as if they sensed potential in her abilities

at age of fourteen (c. 2009), she began her trainee life at the courtesy of her grandmother, who was always by her side

a struggling vocalist, aejeong once again endlessly worked hard to be able to appeal to the directors of so!ar entertainment, in hopes of making her wish to become an idol true

a cold & distant trainee is who she was, regarding everyone as competition and only making friends with those who may be helpful to her; really cared for her appearance and definitely used charms to her advantage

two years later (c. 2011), a sixteen year old aejeong was given the cute name of “Aya” and told to have a cute fairy-next-door concept for her group, finding out she was debuting with impulse !

around this time, she began playing nice with her new members, having a complete 180 degree personality change

becoming a popular group and having tour after tour was exhausted for aejeong as she was away from her beloved grandmother for periods of times

she trusted her members to an extent, but never enough to divulge her background. she would always change topics or lie about her life back at home, esp. in interviews

though, she did begin to open up to them more throughout their years together, treating them as her family, except there are moments where she is unused to much attention where she snaps/makes snide remarks at the

around these years, her visuals made her renown and dubbed as the nation’s fairy for her ethereal and fae like looks

unfortunately around the time of promoting PERCENT, her nana passed, causing her to a miss a little of the promotions. she tried to keep herself composed on the scene, but would be so cold and silent behind the scenes

with their new single released, aejeong absolutely despises the new concept, so used to the cute concept that cemented with her, and feels sort of betrayed by the entertainment for letting it go, but she keeps her mouth shut and deals with it

The Lights on Knockbridge Lane by Roan Parrish

Garnet Run #3

 Smiling now and many times as I read this charming, heartwarming, delightful, holiday romance. Once begun I could not put this book down and it will linger with me for a while.

 What I liked: * Adam Mills: single father of an inquisitive eight-year-old, newly returned to Garnet Hills after breaking with his partner, photographer, working in a hardware shop, excellent parent, honest, kind, loving, tender, emotional and perfectly charming.

* Westley “Wes” Mobray: loner, scientist, well educated, creator, lover of unique creatures, has some anxiety issues, interesting backstory, fascinating, perfect for Adam & Gus.

* August “Gus” Mills: Adam’s daughter, honest to a fault, outspoken, inquisitive, loving, accepting, understands Adam well, protective, adds a great deal to the story, and one of the major reasons I smiled so often throughout the story.

* River: Adam’s sibling, manager of a cat rescue, helpful, there for Adam and Gus, interested in finding out who they will end up with in a future book of the series

* Bram: a man met at the Christmas tree buying that I thought about and wondered if he might show up in a future book.

* Getting to see how Charlie and Rye are doing (from book two of the series)

* Seeing Marie and wondering what her story is

* That both Adam and Wes were willing to open up to one another and were open and communicated as adults.

* The relationship that grew between Adam and Wes

* The relationship that developed between Gus and Wes

* Finding out about the backstories of Adam and Wes

* The lights and how they played a part in the story

* The scientific bits and the menagerie at Wes’ house

* Hoping that I will see this group again in the next book in the series

* That it made me think, and feel, and care, and was filled with the joy of the holiday spirit

 What I didn’t like:

* That more than one character had parents that caused pain in their lives

* Having to say goodbye to the characters in this story

 Did I enjoy this book? Yes

Would I read more in this series? Definitely

He focused on Gus first. She was all in one piece and was even smiling. It was her I did something bad and delightful smile, but a smile was good—at least when on a child who seemed to have been forcibly dragged home by an irate stranger.

“Where is your coat?” is what came out of Adam’s mouth.

Sometimes he tried to remember what it was like when he talked about things like the composition of his next shot, which restaurant’s tiramisu he pre­ferred, or the latest cozy mystery he was reading.

Now he said things like “Where is your coat” and “Don’t take that apart” and “If you don’t stop mak­ing that sound I might have to throttle you.” Okay, he didn’t say the last one so much as think it. Often.

“It’s not that cold,” his wonderful, brilliant daugh­ter said, her lips only vaguely blue.

Adam counseled himself to breathe.

Once he’d determined that Gus was all in one piece and frostbite wasn’t imminent, he turned his atten­tion to the man who’d brought her home.

“Um,” he said intelligently.

Westley Mobray was tall and severe, with shaved dark hair and strong dark eyebrows over piercing blue eyes. Those eyes were narrowed slightly, ei­ther in anger or—if the neighborhood rumors were to be believed—because he never went outside when there was the slightest bit of light still in the sky, as it would, of course, burn him to ash.

“She broke into my house,” he said. His voice was low and rough with disuse.

“She’s eight.”

I absolutely love your longer stories recently. When there is a lot of plot to get into and lose yourself in. Seven days is still living in my mind rent free. It just gives you a lot of time to root for them you know? And really fun characters. It really felt like you are on that adventure with them.

Very excited to see where the seungmin story is going to go in the next chapters, too ^-^

oh my goodness thank you so much! 🥰🥰i really do feel like there has been a shift and suddenly i'm having a hard time writing anything shorter than 10k LOLLL esp when it came to seven days which was so opposite of many things i've written i'm so happy that ya liked it!!🥰 i had soooo much fun writing the side characters for seven days like my girls Katya and Marisol :') a h i like the longer stories too bc i feel like they give me a wider ranger for a narrative and that sweet, sweet buildup teehee if anything, when writing, I really love for it to be immersive for the reader so i'm so glad that it reads like that!

and the seungmin story 😈i can't wait to share what's coming too! i will say that my self indulgence with the au *really* takes over the next part hehehehehe

NATHALIE KELLEY, CISFEMALE, SHE/HER — have you met fidelia marisol medina yet ? the thirty one year old is known for being both cunning and sedulous, but also very contentious and brutal. born in new york city, lia now lives in westminster, a classy criminal who sends "brb gotta sin" texts at least three times daily.

fidelia was born and raised in good ol’ new york city ! she was born to a relatively more lower class family . with two younger siblings , her father eventually skipped town on their family when he decided he didn’t want to deal with them anymore 

she was only ten at the time and had to watch as her mom continuously struggled to provide for her and her siblings . 

tw: drugs. at the age of thirteen , lia finally had enough and started getting involved in some shady drug shit just to help her family make ends meet

tw: gang related. she eventually got involved with a notorious new york gang where she worked as a dealer . at the age of twenty , her mom got a prospective job offer that would change their lives so she moved with her and her little siblings to london . from that point on , her mom and her little siblings lived a happier and more comfortable life

tw: gang. but lia fell back into her old ways and ended up getting involved with the north gang ( the underworld plot ) because that’s all she’s ever known really 

tw: drugs. she’s worked her way up the ladder after years of allegiance to the gang and is now the head of the drug smuggling/trafficking operation there .

personality wise , she’s very smart , street wise at least . very head strong and independent , she gets what she wants , always . lia is very closed off , it’s not easy for her to open up to people . she’s always known a very lonely life esp since she was forced to grow up so quickly . she can be very aggressive when she wants to be . lia comes off as v ruthless and scary but if ur on her good side , she’ll be infinitely loyal and look out for u always

DIEGO LUNA, CISMALE, HE/HIM — have you met rafael lorenzo valdivia yet ? the thirty six year old is known for being both conscientious and well-meaning, but also very abrasive and argumentative. born in los angeles, raf now lives in camden, an actual dad who cracks way too many dad jokes for his own good, that is when he's not being a hardass detective.

tw: sex crimes. works with lolana as a sex crimes detective . he’s always wanted to work in law enforcement and he ended up in the sex crimes department as a temp when they were down a few people but wanted to stay there after realizing that this was his calling . 

he’s got a six year old daughter that means the world to him and an estranged wife that he loves just as much . but he tends to always put work first which has made things messy his entire life

he’s a good guy like genuinely such a dad type . the kind of guy to like pick you up if you sound drunk over the phone and make sure you’re tucked into bed with a glass of water and aspirin on the bedside table for when you wake up .

he can be a total hardass though because he takes things very seriously and god he just needs to lighten up sometimes ! but he sees some pretty dark stuff while working which kinda factors into that 

personality wise , yeah total dad . makes super lame dad jokes and gets offended when people don’t laugh with him . very caring and empathetic , wants to change the world and thinks he’s doing his part by working in sex crimes . he’s very blunt and constantly speaks his mind , argues a lot , gets him in trouble at work . 10/10 an actual pup .

wanted connections : people that he works with , best friends pls !!! he needs some good ol friends in his life , a crush ( but it’d be more so one sided bc he’s hung up on his wife even though they’re separated ) , his family ( i pictured him having one younger sister but cousins and things work too ) , someone who wants to get into the law enforcement and he kind of acts like a mentor ? anything yawl !

based off of spencer reid from criminal minds .. wow i just love my fictional characters ! 

grew up in the care of his mother , never knew his father because he skipped town on his mom when she got pregnant . he never felt the need to find him or contact him because he’s always seen him as a piece of shit for leaving his mom

tw: schizophrenia. his mother’s got schizophrenia so he often spent his childhood trying to take care of her , he ended up putting her into a mental facility when he turned eighteen because he thought she needed to get professional help . he visits her every day

he’s a fucking genius . got an iq of 186 and an eidetic memory which means he can remember basically everything he’s ever come across . graduated high school at 12 and went on to get phds in engineering , math and chemistry . he has his ba’s in psychology and sociology . 

he’s always been very interested in the human mind and how it works which is why he became an agent at the nca ( national crime agency ) as an analyzer/profiler . he helps put together profiles of potential subjects in cases etc 

takes his job seriously and loves it but it often takes a toll on him because again he sees some real dark stuff 

personality wise , he’s super fucking socially awkward . he fumbles over his words when he’s just casually talking to someone , sometimes doesn’t know how to make conversation yet when he’s talking about a case or just something he has knowledge on he can go on long tangents without fumbling . he’s got a good heart . he’s definitely more introverted and on the shier side , he’s also real laid back . he sometimes doesn’t get like millennial things . social media ? wtf is that .. twitter ? is that a type of bird ? he can get real sassy and rude if you ever test him though . he’s not the one sis !

wanted connections : people on his squad ( they’d be profilers/analyzers also ) , best friends also just someone who he’s actually not awkward around and he’s fully comfortable with , he gives lectures at local universities and stuff about criminology and psychology and sociology so maybe some fellow lecturers/professors or even students , childhood friends who would probably know about his mom and stuff , crushes ?? idk anything honestly

tw: death. born in germany as bernadine schneider , she had a joyful albeit short lived childhood . her parents died in a car crash when she was 5 years old which she survived . stolen from the hospital , she was admitted into the “academy” . which is basically where she trained to become a deadly spy 

she’s now known as beatrisa schulte , but only goes by tris . few know her full name , none know her real name .

tw: death. at the age of eighteen , she graduated at the top of her class . her final assignment ? to shoot a man dead in front of her professors , as an initiation of sorts . 

from then on , she was given a number of assignments which mostly involved her collecting intel for the german government on the low . but eventually she was captured by british forces and instead of prosecuting her , the mi6 decided that she was much too valuable and put her to work . 

she basically does the same , collects intel on things like terrorist threats, etc etc but she also cleans house for them . meaning she takes on the dirty jobs that the government don’t want to dip their hands into . but to unsuspecting public , she’s a temp at a law firm .

personality wise , she’s flirty and charming . she can sweet talk her way into getting anything she wants . a bat of her lashes and a sultry smile and intel is basically thrown into her hands . but she’s deadly . if her charm doesn’t work , her violence sure will . tris isn’t afraid of anything really , especially not death . she’s strong willed but can come off very emotionless sometimes . beneath that however , she’s still very vulnerable . she was forced into this life but she’s always dreamed of living a normal , happy one . who knows if she’ll ever get that ! 

wanted connections : people she works with ( whether it be in the mi6 or just at the law firm she works at ) , people who live in her building ?? maybe they just see each other from time to time but never got the chance to really bond , friends ? but she’d never let them get too close so that could be a point of interest , random hookups ?? maybe it happened one night and she’s avoiding them like crazy bc she just can’t let herself get involved etc , anything !!

NICOLA PELTZ, CISFEMALE, SHE/HER — have you met fleur yvonne giraud yet ? the twenty three year old is known for being both charismatic and elegant, but also very self-destructive and pessimistic. born in bordeaux, flo now lives in westminster, a damaged socialite with a bad addiction who thinks her darling smile will fix all her problems in life.

and now we have fleur , aka flo . born to rich socialite parents , she lived the most part of her life in the luxurious hills of bordeaux , france . 

on the surface , her life seemed genuinely perfect . she had the charm and grace and the materialistic things , she had everyone eating out of the palm of her hand . but her family life was very poor . 

her parents became estranged when she was young so she grew up watching her father being unfaithful to her mother while the two constantly got into screaming matches . as an only child , she found no solace in siblings . 

tw: drugs. when she got to high school , she fell in with the wrong crowd and started using hard drugs as a means of escaping her life . she quickly became hooked and to this day she still is , however she manages to keep it under wraps fairly well .

she moved to london when she turned eighteen , taking a chunk of her parents money to do so . she lives the infamous socialite life here , getting into scandal after scandal but she seems to handle it with elegance .

personality wise , she’s very effervescent . she carries a charismatic presence with her and the room lights up when she walks in . with a honey voice and a darling smile , this girl spills from the brims with grace and elegance . but clearly she has very self-destructive tendencies and real deep rooted commitment issues . she’s the biggest fucking pessimist you will ever meet but she manages to make it cute™ by smiling after basically ripping things to shreds . 

wanted connections : fwb and it could be like with feelings or not but she just got commitment issues , party buddies she needs a million , just cute best friends who can handle her messy ass , maybe someone who runs in the same circle as her so they’re just constantly pictured together and hanging out and people are like oh are they dating who knows , something like almost is never enough ? like she kind of fell for this person and was close to actually opening up and settling down with them but then something happened and it fell apart , anything !!
