You feel a chill in the air. It isn't quite autumn yet, but the days grow shorter and a somnolence begins to settle over the world. Time to retreat to your cozy little cabin in the woods. 🌲🍄🍂

A transformation of Ravenhurst in Rivenspire – something I've wanted to do ever since I saw that wonderful waterfall view in the back.

The Hills Have Eyes Choso who first sees you through his binoculars as you are running for your life across a dusty open field.

Eso and Kechizu were leisurely chasing you, hooping and hollering taunts. Little did you know you weren't running towards the road but deeper in the desert towards the caves and their encampment at the old abandoned military base.

While Choso wasn't one to usually deny Eso and Kechizu their fun, they weren't the best trackers and would surely lose you or worse if you ran into the caves. With a sigh, Choso agiley descends from his perched outlook post to cut you off before you can reach the cavern opening.

You were a good distance ahead of him but this is his land, he knows it well, and still manages to cut you off right as you reach the entrance.

Choso's big looming figure stands in your path.

"Oh thank god!" Yet instead of terror in your eyes, Choso is taken aback as you look to him like your savior. Upon seeing him and his seemingly normal features you practically throw yourself into his arms, so happy to run into someone who was not a mutant.

Utterly touch-starved, this kind of embrace from a pretty girl was something extremely new for Choso.

Your small arms are littered with scrapes and oozing cuts that look far too painful for you to be desperately clinging to him to the degree you are. Fully pressed against him, the intense heat radiating off your body amplifies that of the scorching desert and for a few moments Choso feels dizzy as you sob harder into him.

You're babbling, words nearly nonsensical as they spill out of you:

About your tour bus getting lost in this desert two days ago, how the spiked wire placed in the middle of the road shredded the tires, and finally how mutants attacked your bus.

They'd ruthlessly killed the driver and scattered your friends across the desert leading you here to find him now.

Choso says nothing.

What can he say?

You'd find out sooner than later you were the only one remaining from that tour bus still alive. Instinctively comforting you despite your impending doom, Choso drapes his arms around you bringing you into his embrace. His hands, stained with the dried blood of all your friends, weaves into your hair and grips your soft waist.

Grasping your strands between his dirted fingers, Choso can't resist inhaling deeply.

You smell nice.

Of vanilla and sugar, simple flavors he had forgotten about until the scent of you stirred the comforting reminder.

The smell of his home.

The smell of his mother.

Her face flashed before his eyes and he pushed away the terrible memory he thought he'd buried deep enough it wouldn't resurface again.

But now Choso finds himself clinging to you just as desperately.

The child in him from all those years ago empathizing with the fragile lil desert dove that had flown so broken into his arms. An intense need he didn't fully understand surging through his body.

He'd protect you.

He'd be your salvation.

Unfortunately for you, it wouldn't be the rescue you wanted and Choso wasn't the hero he appeared to be.

Too distraught and broken—you don't notice this. Nor do you notice flesh caked to the machete at his hips or even question what a man looking like he'd been in the desert longer than you was doing out here—still alive.

None of the pieces fit but you are too grateful to question anything. Until you hear a twisted voice cut through your sobs and ring in your ears.

The chilling words leave you paralyzed. "Ha! Brother Choso! Ya caught 'er for us!"

Kechizu cheers.

Your eyes are now bulging out of your skull and by the time you attempt to push away from the man, you finally realize his hold isn't one of comfort but containment.

To your horror Choso whips you around, both his arms now wrapped around your midsection as the mutants who were chasing your—who you now know to be his brothers approaches you.

"She looks so tasty too! She'll cook up nice. All that runnin' n' cryin' making her nice and tender, I bet."

Eso quips, licking his lips at you.

You felt queasy, the overwhelming nausea that accompanies your despair making you retch. It's only the dehydration from being hunted in the desert for the past two days that keeps the bile in your stomach from rising to your throat when you realized the intentions of these mutants.

They were cannibals.

Not only were you going to die.

You were going to be eaten.

"Now, now...Eso, Kechizu—stand down, you two."

Choso's words are cheery yet chiding words of a kind older brother, which prompts the collective child-like groans from his two very grown mutant brothers—brothers who look nothing like their far more handsome, normal looking brother.

"We're going to keep her."

Choso now only holds you with one arm, yet it might as well be a muscular iron band welded across your waist. No amount of your squirming can make him budge an inch.

His free hand comes around to press the flat edge of his well-used machete against your exposed navel—instantly stopping your escape attempts lest the weapon cut into your flesh.

Choso's gruff heady voice puffs into your ear causing a chill of terror to quake down your spine as your sobs are renewed. "You'll be good for us, right ma?"

You sat on the edge of the bed, your heart racing, feeling the weight of anxiety settle over you like a heavy blanket. Miko was packing her bag for her upcoming tour, and each item she folded and tucked away felt like a reminder of her impending absence. The thought of her leaving made your stomach twist with fear.

Miko glanced over her shoulder, sensing your distress. “¿Qué pasa, bebe?” she asked, her voice gentle yet curious. She walked over, kneeling beside you, her hands resting on your knees.

“I just… I don’t want you to go,” you admitted, your voice barely above a whisper. “What if you don’t come back? What if—”

“Hey, hey,” she interrupted softly, her gaze locking onto yours with an intensity that melted your worries. “Look at me.” You met her eyes, feeling a bit of the tension in your chest ease. “I’m not going anywhere forever. This is just a tour, and I’ll be back before you know it.”

You took a deep breath, trying to steady your racing heart. “But I’ll miss you. I hate feeling like this.”

Miko nodded, her thumb brushing softly against your thigh, a soothing gesture that reminded you of her warmth. “I understand, ma. It’s okay to feel scared. But remember, you’re not alone. You have me, siempre.” She leaned in closer, wrapping her arms around you, pulling you into a comforting embrace.

The scent of her perfume—sweet and familiar—wrapped around you, and you melted into her arms. “Promise you’ll call me every day?” you murmured into her shoulder.

“Te lo prometo,” she replied, pulling back slightly to look you in the eyes. “And I’ll send you videos of all the crazy things I’m doing. You’ll be right there with me, even from afar.”

You let out a small laugh, picturing her in a crowded venue, her wild energy shining through the screen. “Okay, that sounds nice.”

“Just remember, mami,” she said, her fingers brushing against your cheek, “no matter where I am, you’re always in my heart. You’re my home.” The sincerity in her voice made your heart flutter, dispelling some of the anxiety that had clouded your mind.

“I know,” you replied, feeling a bit more grounded. “It’s just hard.”

“Then let’s make a plan,” she suggested, her eyes sparkling with determination. “How about we pick a day for me to come back and surprise you? We can do something fun, just the two of us.”

You smiled at the thought, your heart lifting a little more. “That sounds perfect.”

“Good,” she said, her playful grin returning. “And while I’m gone, you can be my cheerleader. I’ll send you updates, and I expect you to hype me up.”

“I can do that,” you agreed, feeling a warmth spreading through you. “I’ll be your biggest fan.”

“Eso es,” she laughed, her eyes lighting up with mischief. “You better be ready to scream my name when I get back. Miko is going to rock that stage for you!”

You chuckled, the tension in your body easing further. “I can’t wait to see you shine.”

As she stood to finish packing, you felt a wave of gratitude wash over you. Even in the midst of your fears, Miko had a way of making you feel safe and loved. And as long as you had her by your side—whether physically or in spirit—you knew you could face anything that came your way.

“Remember, baby,” she called back to you, a teasing lilt in her voice, “I’m just a call away, and I’m always thinking of you.”

With a newfound sense of calm, you nodded, knowing that no distance could ever truly separate your hearts.

Explanation: The core of the Milky Way is rising beyond the Chilean mountain-top La Silla Observatory in this deep night skyscape. Seen toward the constellation Sagittarius, our home galaxy's center is flanked on the left, by the European Southern Observatory's New Technology Telescope which pioneered the use of active optics to accurately control the shape of large telescope mirrors. To the right stands the ESO 3.6-meter Telescope, home of the exoplanet hunting HARPS and NIRPS spectrographs. Between them, the galaxy's central bulge is filled with obscuring clouds of interstellar dust, bright stars, clusters, and nebulae. Prominent reddish hydrogen emission from the star-forming Lagoon Nebula, M8, is near center. The Trifid Nebula, M20, combines blue light of a dusty reflection nebula with reddish emission just left of the cosmic Lagoon. Both are popular stops on telescopic tours of the galactic center. The composited image is a stack of separate exposures for ground and sky made in April 2023, all captured consecutively with the same framing and camera equipment.

The cartel was in need of new workers, the last few proved to be distrustful and spies where not welcome, so new applications where in order. Narco Home held up a signed contract for his face, grinning as he saw the name written down of his newest asset. Vaquero, who had been more or less persuaded under stress to sign his free will and human rights away. If only he knew-

He carefully put the important documents away, hiding it in a carefully selected place.

As long as he had these papers none of his staff would stay out of line, these where legally binding contracts, all in his own favor. And if someone still acted up he had other more painful means.

Narco Home stood up from his desk as he heard his guest arrive. He opened the door for Y/n, like a gentleman but his actions where calculated and firm as he invited them in his office. It wasn't so much as a invite as it was a demand.

"Me alegra que hayas venido con tan poco aviso, cariño."

(Glad you could came on such short notice, darling.)

"Yeah... no worries, anything for our boss."

He dismissed their uncomfortable chuckle, used to it from them.

Narco Home was a towering figure (a puppet not a sentient house in this au), decked out in a black cowboy suit that matched his intimidating demeanor. His fiery red hair peeked out from beneath his black cowboy hat, and his piercing green eyes struck fear into the hearts of his enemies. He knew he could come over as intimidating.

Y/n on the other hand, was a bumbling member of the cartel. They had inadvertently stumbled into the criminal life as they too had been desperate for a job unaware it would be anything like this, dealing in illegal substances and drugs.

They zoned out slightly as their bossy boss was starting off a whole story in Spanish, the language spoken by everyone here.

Everyone that wasn't YOU.

Y/n has always done their best to blend in, not to stand out in either a negative or positive way. They had accepted the fact they couldn't leave this cartel, the only way that was possible was in a body bag and they preferred to stay alive breathing and well. So they just did what they where told, nodding along to conversations they did or didn't understand and hoping for the best. Their biggest struggle in life really was the language barrier.

And somehow no one knew about it. Their lack of understanding even when whole business meetings or appointments where given or shouted in Spanish. All cause they where good at faking they understood it all (and secretly using a shitty translator app when no one was looking).

Y/n got snapped out of their daydreaming as Narco Home's eyes pierced though them, slightly frowning as he was getting suspicious they weren't paying attention. And he didn't like that.

"You got it?" He said condescendingly.

"SI- I so got this! But uhmm if you could just repeat that last part, that be soooo amazing." They nervously smiled, as they frantically moved their hands unsure where to keep them.

He looked unimpressed with their statement but gave in, repeating his words, still in spanish this time.

"Dije que mostrarás alrededor a mi nuevo trabajador Vaquero, su primer día fue bastante... desordenado y creo que podría usar un recorrido extra y una presentación. ¿Puedes encargarte de eso, verdad?"

(I said, you will show around my new worker Vaquero, his first day got quite...messy and I believe he could use a extra tour and introduction. You can handle that, can't you?)

"Of course, sure thing..."

Well that's useless, you hardly understood that.

Thankfully they did overhear Poppy talk about comforting someone new here with the name Narco Home also mentioned.

So it was up to them to probably give instructions to the newbie or to show them around.

"Vaquero right?"

Y/n curiously eyed up the newest addition to Narco Home's crew. Vaquero was a breath of fresh air, clad in a vibrant blue cowboy blouse that matched his blue pompadour hairstyle. Though he seemed a bit unwell and shaken up (must have had to do with why Poppy had to comfort him) but overall like a sweet, naive person. Someone to be exploited by their boss for sure.

"Sí, ¿y me dijeron que eres Y/n, ¿verdad?"

(Yes, and I was told you're Y/n, correct?)

They nodded to hearing their name, even while oblivious to what he was saying. Why did he have to reply in Spanish as they addressed him in English? WHY?!

Without further ado and to avoid looking stupid they just started walking, motioning for him to follow.

Some time went by and Vaquero might have been still not all there considering what transpired the first time he arrived here but he wasn't stupid. He noticed Y/n's odd behavior of one word response with either si or no or replying in English while heard everyone else around here use Spanish, more often than not.

"You know... if you aren't good at Spanish, you can tell me."

"What are you talking about, I am... absolute great in it. What gave you that idea." They tried to gaslight him, as they once gain moved their hands around unsure how to hold them as didn't want to look defensive or nervous but it was creating the opposite effect.

"Está bien. Así que por favor, repite esa oración de nuevo pero en español, debería ser bastante fácil."

(Alright- So please, repeat that sentence again but in Spanish, it should be easy enough.)

As he spoke he could tell they didn't understood him, it was very clear now he payed close attention to their face. His eyes also drifted to the phone they clutched behind their back, as it translated his spoken words but not very proficiently.

The situation was almost silly.

And for a moment he forgot about the traumatic incident that had been on his mind for a while, letting out the slight chuckle as he feigned a look off disappointment.

"Oh come on, you really are bad at hiding it, just admit it, you didn't understand a word I said."

...

...

"Fine! I'll admit it! I suck so bad at Spanish, for the life of me, I cannot comprehend it. Like some words, yeahhh but most of it no way! It's embarrassing I know but you can't tell the others."

"You know it's a bit worrying, how did you even manage hiding that? Won't you get in trouble if you misunderstand your given assignments or deals that take place here?"

Vaquero joked but he clearly seems genuinely baffled and concerned.

Y/n felt their own face heat up from humiliation.... and somehow also flattered he seemed to care for them.

"Just please, I beg you, don't tattle about this. I'll normally just wing it and improvise, I cannot stress enough that the others can't know. Please. Por favor!"

They looked at him pleadingly as they put their hands together in a prayer.

"Por favor? Is that the best you can do? Have you even tried learning the language, I'm sure there are many ways to learn it online."

Of course, it's all an allegory to engaging our feelings, our hearts, and the best of us in our life, how we do that, and with what interventions we wake ourselves up, and engage. That's countered with the theme of saying goodbye, and how powerful they are, when you say them for one last time. It's something you can't forget.

the new Housing Tours are up on the ESO PTS. I'm loving it! I submitted my top 5 houses.

I managed to view about a dozen so far. There's over a hundred already! It's only been a day. There are so many that are so good! Some of them are a bit, bought the furnishing pack and put in my favorite houseguests, but they are cozy. A few are obviously just jokes. One called 700 tainted blood, cleared out the entire place, and buried 700 vials of Tainted Blood. The place looks empty, but the furnishing inventory is full. lol

The only annoying thing so far is I have to use the same process every single time to go tour a new house.

I go to a house I own. F5 for housing settings. Then go to the Settings tab. Then click on Home Tours. Then select Browse Home.

it's not too much, though, because it took me an hour to get through 12. Some are very big and full of little details, like my Coldharbour which now has a hidden Aquatic area in the back on the lower balcony.

All in all 9.9/10, Would Recommend, I'm looking forward to it going live!! 💜

APOD December 1, 2023 Milky Way Rising The core of the Milky Way is rising beyond the Chilean mountain-top La Silla Observatory in this deep night skyscape. Seen toward the constellation Sagittarius, our home galaxy's center is flanked on the left, by the European Southern Observatory's New Technology Telescope which pioneered the use of active optics to accurately control the shape of large telescope mirrors. To the right stands the ESO 3.6-meter Telescope, home of the exoplanet hunting HARPS and NIRPS spectrographs. Between them, the galaxy's central bulge is filled with obscuring clouds of interstellar dust, bright stars, clusters, and nebulae. Prominent reddish hydrogen emission from the star-forming Lagoon Nebula, M8, is near center. The Trifid Nebula, M20, combines blue light of a dusty reflection nebula with reddish emission just left of the cosmic Lagoon. Both are popular stops on telescopic tours of the galactic center. It was fitting. I am glad he is gone. The refugees from Valthume I welcomed into my fold, I hope they are at peace now.

On Morokei: Only in death would he ever be parted from his staff… fitting, hm? He once ruled Saarthal, you know. His mal briinah and himself were the last of their line. He swore to defend Bromjunaar no matter the cost… and I learned much of my magecraft from him. Rest well, zuwuth fahdon.

On Zahkriisos: I remember them, the Sword-Blood. They were my favorite of my acolytes, because they kept to themself. Quiet, calm, as I was. I… do hope they were not punished for taking my side. Farewell, Zahkriisos. Say hello to Rahgot for me, hm?

On Rahgot: I suppose I should not be surprised. If any of us were to last so long, it would be them. To see what they did to Forelhost to keep it from falling, what their people did… I am glad you put it to rest, Dragonborn. They are with Zahkriisos now.

On Suleyk (OC): …He earned his name, I give him that much. I gave him Heart Stones from the depths of Solstheim for his Mask, as a show of allegiance. I admired him. Where is he? His city, his people- where have they gone? Is he merely a memory?

On Britfaaz (OC): Ah. I remember her. She requested Stalhrim from Solstheim for her Mask and robes, you know. I said I would give it to her, but the price I suggested was… in poor taste, even if I was joking. When she… showed me the error of my ways, I knew she had earned her Stalhrim… I hope her death was as merciful as she.

On Nahlot (OC): The Silent one, hm? Do you know of them, Dovahkiin? Even their legacy is silent. They had their Mask and robes made of ivory to move quietly. Not once did they speak, but their presence in all things was felt. I enjoyed their company, if only for their quietude. May their soul be silent now, as well.

I wish follower miraak was canon so i could hear what he has to say about places in skyrim and also his opinions on the other dragon priests you can find
