Fun fact: I actually wrote a fic about them adopting children (well Jerza, Nalu, and Elfever) if anyone is interested in that :)

Nalu

Lucy is literally stressed out the whole time

Natsu is pretty chill but his protectiveness has tripled

Lucy is the strict parent and Natsu is the fun one, but he will back Lucy up when needed

Unfortunately because of his heightened senses, Natsu really struggles with the baby crying. It's way louder for him and even hurts when he's holding the baby (too close to the ears)

Natsu struggles to sleep too. One because of the baby waking him up, but also because he is super protective and wakes up multiple times a night just to check on the baby (Lucy also doesn't sleep through the night but Natsu more so)

Lucy cheats and summons her spirits to help look after the baby. It really helps the new parents get time to rest (and also her spirits love the little baby so its a win win)

While they take turns working, Lucy usually stays home more. She knows Natsu needs to get out all his energy and she has no problem being a stay at home mom (at least for a little bit)

Gruvia

Juvia is literally always crying. Everything the baby does causes Juvia to burst into tears

Gray is in love. He's literally always cooing over the baby

They fight over who has to be the strict parents because both of them wanna be the fun one. Usually Juvia ends up as the strict one

Gray worries so much about the baby that he spends most nights sleeping in the nursery. Juvia keeps a spare blanket and pillow in there now, just so he can be more comfortable

The entire house is covered in toys (and other baby things). It has completely taken over their lives

Neither of them wanna work because they want to spend as much time with their baby as possible (unfortunately they have to so they take turns and only take simple jobs)

Juvia knits cute little onesies for the baby. She makes little dolls too. The dolls match the onesies. Its adorable

Jerza

Erza is super prepared and can literally handle any baby issue (throw up, diaper, teething, etc). She's got everything

Jellal on the other hand is always panicking. The baby hiccups? He's freaking out about if he has to go to the ER

Erza bought so many clothes for the baby. She treats them like a little doll and is always playing dress up

They are both the strict parents. Not terribly but they raise their child to behave (tho both are known to give in to the puppy dog eyes)

Jellal cries a lot. He cried when he found out Erza was pregnant, cried when the baby was born, cried when they brought the baby home, etc (he never thought he'd have a life like this)

For the first couple months after the baby is born, Jellal tries to do as much as possible because he wants Erza to rest (she did do all the hard work for nine months so it's only fair that he steps up after birth)

Somehow their home is always clean and they both always look well rested (well Jellal has permanent eye bags but that's just his normal sleep depravation). No one knows how they are so put together with a newborn

Gajevy

Gajeel is that dad that is always talking about his baby. He's always showing pictures, will turn any conversation into a baby story, and in general cannot go five minutes without talking about his baby

Levy did so much research before the baby was born. She bought literally anything and everything the books recommended

Unfortunately that means when something happens that wasn't in the book, Levy panics

Gajeel also has issues with his heightened senses. Levy takes pity on him when it comes to diaper changes (Gajeel has thrown up from particularly foul ones)

Gajeel tried to do that thing where you make the baby listen to music in the moms stomach, but it was his singing. Levy would come up with every excuse in the book for this not to happen

He does sing to the baby now, but Levy finds it adorable and likes to listen (his voice is more suited for lullaby's)

Levy reads to the baby every night. Her book picks vary from actual kids books to textbooks but the baby doesn't know the difference anyway

There are a lot of things I will NEVER forgive the fairy tail creators for and a lot of things that I would've personally changed about the series. But right now, I'm gonna focus on one, and that is our darling Michelle Gonzalez Lobster Heartfilia.

When her betrayal was revealed and her story just ended with her going back into doll form. I literally cried my eyes out and my heart broke, and I still do every time i watch those episodes. THIS WOMAN JUST WANTED HER SISTER AGAIN!!!!😭😭😭😭.

By some magical miracle, Michelle came back to her human form, and it became a Pinocchio situation. How, you ask? I have no freaking idea, but it's fairy tail, they have magic, and almost nothing make sense.

Michelle comes back to life, and she joins Fairy Tail. She still has magic to transform into imitatia and works alongside Mirajane at the guild. Michelle becomes roommates with Lucy, and they both become real genuine sisters and Michelle starts developing her relationships with not just Lucy but everyone in the guild. She also trains with Lucy and sometimes will join Lucy and her team on quests to earn money. Michelle also learns to grow on her magic with Erza and Mirajane, and imitatia becomes one of many forms that she has. She now becomes a strong member of Fairy Tail and changes her name to Michelle Gonzales Heartfilia, little sister to Lucy Heartfilia

Imagine Team Natsu has to rent a vehicle or something and they require actual legal paperwork like a birth certificate and address or something like that (more than just “guild business! Gonna need this!”). Lucy doesn’t want to rent it because there is no way she’s going to be responsible for the inevitable damage. Erza, being the leader and a good friend volunteers. A few minutes later she comes back out, puzzled.

Erza: “why would they need a birth certificate? Shouldn’t me being present be proof enough of my existence?”

Gray starts snickering in the background. Natsu goes in next but comes out even earlier than Erza, cause at least Erza had a probably legal address at Fairy Hills, Natsu on the other hand lives in a house in the woods.

By the time Wendy goes in the receptionist is exasperated. “Yes I understand you are with Fairy Tail but that isn’t until page three of the paper work. None of you have made it past the first page.”

Gray finds this all very amusing.

Lucy: “Since you find it so amusing why don’t you go register, Gray!?”

Gray: mutters something

Natsu: “What do you mean you’re legally dead?!”

Cause you know, Ur just found a kid (the only survivor) and just decided to keep him. Oh, no official rescue crews didn’t show up until two days later? My kid now :)

The search and rescue teams never found any survivors in Gray’s old town so everyone was pronounced dead. The magic council or whoever is in charge of that stuff is also disorganized enough that no one realized that Gray Fullbuster is both a famous wizard and supposedly dead. So, just, Gray technically being considered legally dead the entire time he was at Fairy Tail.

Also, the slayers all going out on a job together(the dragon slayers had to drag Gray). The job turns out to be a trap (surprise!) and the floor just opens up revealing a giant vehicle.

Dark mage: “Ha-ha! I have bested the dragon slayer! The most powerful mages-“spots Gray just chilling, perfectly fine and not motion sick. “what are you doing?” Cause the guy was planning to capture dragon slayer, not whatever a demon slayer was (the dark mage didn’t even know demon slayers were a thing). Gray defeats the dark mage but holds it over Natsu’s head for a week.

After that anytime a large group of dragon slayers takes a job together they take Gray along for “extra security during transportation” or just extra security in general.

I also head-canon that each type of slayer magic has its own unique weakness. Dragon slayers get severely motion sick. God slayers are claustrophobic. Demon slayers cannot handle sweets. If Gray gets even a whiff of cake or any other dessert his gag reflex acts up and he gets really nauseous and other stuff like that. He of course hid it at first (he was afraid Erza would disown him) but eventually everyone learned about the weakness of demon slayers. Natsu teases him about it but never pushes it too far to the point of accidentally making Gray really sick.

Anyways, sorry for the long ask. Feel free to expand on anything. Always love some good slayer bonding head-canons and just Fairy Tail head-canons in general. <3

Oh, you have no idea how often ive though about Gray being legally dead, my personal favorite scenario is him trying to fix it and prove himself alive but cant

“How the fuck would i know my social security number??? i was eight years old! i had no reason to know!!!”

There was no dna or finger-print records of him or his family so he couldn’t prove it that way either. Apparently, declaring someone born or dead is easier than someone ‘resurrected’. To the law Gray of Isvan is dead and although Gray of Fiore bares similarities, they are two different people.

But ALSO to the law Gray of Fiore doesnt exist bc he has no birth certificate. And while hes adamant, he has no real proof beyond his word he is Gray Fullbuster of Isvan.

So basically, According to the law, Both Gray Fullbuster of Isvan and Fiore are dead and never existed, respectively.

tbh this sounds like an identity crisis waiting to happen, but what else is new with him

Erza probably tried to fix it after she was told bc she legally didnt exist for a minute either (never was filed as a real person, she was able to file for a late birth certificate on account that she wasnt claiming to be a ‘separate’ person and also Makarov did it for her) (dont ask why he didnt for Gray, i like plot holes). But quickly realized their situations were very different, him waiting over a decade to check in as a survivor with the proper authorities definitely weakened his case considering he was running around free before he decided he needed a birth certificate.

But hey, as long as he doesn’t need to rent something, or get a license or id, or work somewhere beyond Fairy Tail, or get married, or, god forbid, die again, he should be fine!

i wonder if he would be considered a ‘john doe’ if he actually died again since they have ‘no’ birth records

i love everything to do with the ‘dragon slayers + gray’ dynamic

‘Extra security’ just turns into Gray babysitting a bunch of rambunctious dragons for hours. seriously, get this guy a reward for how he hasnt killed or maimed any of them yet.

Imagine them trying to convince Gray to walk to their destination instead of taking the train

and thats the story of how one Demon slayer ended up having to babysit 4 very pitiful looking Fairy Tail Dragon slayers on a train. Dude had to drag them off it once it stopped too.

His side career of ‘Dragon Slayer Babysitter’ only gets harder when they realize holy shit! cold compresses can help nausea! and what do they have? a walking cold compress.

Taking a train trip with them just means second hand nausea AND embarrassment, and absolutely no personal space. A dream come true.

Tbh i like the irony of Dragon Slayers being motion sick because, yk, dragons can fly, so my hc for side effects for God Slayers and Demon Slayers were along the same lines

God Slayers being wide open space or flying since Gods are like the epitome of freedom? all knowing and have complete reign over everything, But claustrophobia works so much better for that same reason. It would cause extreme panic and rash decisions

And Demon Slayers was the dark because demons are supposed to be these evil creatures who thrive in the dark n stuff? basically it would send a Demon Slayer into a paranoid spiral.

But sweets being a weakness instead is such a silly thing that im gonna take it and run

Gray never cared for sweets in the first place, gave him a stomachache, but now he has to walk away from Erza mid conversation if she decides to indulge, which is almost everyday. She was absolutely heartbroken and devastated when the weakness was revealed, it was such a dramatic reaction one wouod think she was the one with the new weakness

When Gray pokes fun at Natsus motion sickness he’ll go on about how Gray is gonna have the lamest parties since he cant handle even the smell of sweets, especially cake.

A terrible realization for everyone involved with him, on par with when Gray realized he wouldnt be able to have ice cream comfortably again, thats like a staple for ice mages

Like how funny is that? Everyone is talking one day about Mystogan and Laxus can’t say anything because he knows that the bastard was the best goddamn actor in the world. But, Jellal’s been dealing with the consequences of Mystogan’s actions for a few years now. The two share a look. They both understand. That man left a legacy and only two people know about it.

you find him alone at a stone bridge, staring up at the sky, while everyone else is partying at the guild

"everyone was wondering where you went, gray. i was worried."

if you can believe it, gray is putting on his usual nonchalant demeanor.

"you should be at the guild having fun with the others," he says. "i just came out for some fresh air. those lunatics drive me up the wall sometimes..."

you refrain from letting him know he is also one of those "lunatics"

snow begins to fall and you nudge yourself closer to his side, staring down at your moonlit reflections in the water

"you know, y/n..."

gray reaches down for your hand, bringing it up to rest on the side of the bridge beneath his own

"i'm glad it was you that came after me."

he runs his thumb over the back of your hand, running delicate circles over it as if you may break with anything other than a feather-light touch

somewhere in the distance in magnolia, fireworks shoot up high into the sky and burst, reflecting their warm light unto the both of you

cheers can be heard from the guild in the distance and gray raises your hand to his cold lips

after planting a chaste kiss there, he takes his free hand and runs it through your hair, shooting a questioning gaze paired with an irritating smirk

"well?"

the fireworks don't cease as you pull him in, and he only pulls you in tighter, lips meeting and sending a shiver all throughout your body

your hot breath mingles with his in the crisp winter air, stirring up small clouds between you

gray pulls away, pressing his forehead against yours with parted lips. "we should probably head back soon, huh? bet they're wondering where we are..."

you hold onto his torso and glance off at the guild hall in the distance. "they can wait."

erza scarlet...

the guild hall is bustling with activity--a lot of it coming from the booze, but fairy tail is just naturally eccentric

the new years party had been going on for hours and, honestly, you were exhausted. it was a wonder how some of them had the energy

everyone seemed to be accounted for--except miss erza scarlet

it only took a walk upstairs and onto the balcony and there she was, leaned up against the railing with a smile on her face, a plate of strawberry shortcake in one hand and a fork in the other

she turns to look at you with a look of surprise.

"oh? what brings you up here?" she asks

"i could ask you the same"

erza places her plate down on the railing, placing all her attention on you.

"i simply wanted to eat my cake in peace, that is all. they're getting rowdier by the hour and I don't need another mishap."

you cringe as you remember what happened the last time her sweets ended up splatting on the ground.

erza takes your hands in hers, her grip strong and firm, tilting her head with a genuine smile. "of course, i don't mind if it's you who pays me a visit."

you both turn to look, hand in hand, as fireworks grace magnolia's sky. one of them, the biggest and brightest of them all, was a beautiful, deep red--the very color of her hair

illuminated by the scarlet glow, erza shifted her eyes to look at you, bright as ever. "i couldn't wish for anyone else to stand beside on this occasion. perhaps it was fate that you found me up here?"

gently, she pulled you into her embrace and planted a kiss at the corner of your mouth. even with such a faint touch, you could feel her smile through the act.

when that wasn't enough, you pull her in for a deeper, more passionate kiss that would leave your mouth with the lingering taste of strawberries.

she was visibly flushed at your surge of confidence and managed to stumble backwards, knocking her cake off the balcony

maybe another kiss will distract her from the emotional damage.

It is. Mainly because I don't know of any otger Tower of Heaven. That and the Fairy Tail one stuck out. Majorly. Also I imagine that if anyone tries and says they can go destroy the Tower for Yuu's peace of mind they might actually stop them, not only out of fear for the person's LIFE, but also out of fear that the cultists would use the slaves as living meat shields.

Glad that was confirmed :) Anyways, no, I can see them storming the tower for Erza!Yuu to destroy the tower. Yuu is just like: N-No?? Please don't, they're going to use my friends and family there against us.

I'm sure that most of them would understand, but the more empathetic ones (Lilia, Kalim, Deuce, etc.) would still feel uncomfortable about leaving innocent people stuck in the tower.

But it’s not like they’re not planning to attack the tower. At least, not yet.

For you see, Lilia is a general :) and he knows his way around hostage situations. Also his connections would probably make it easier

They’re villains, right? So they’re going to use everything in their powers to plan and prepare for the onslaught. Maybe even team up with Yuu's guild to increase their chances of saving the people from within.

But at the end of the day, they're just trying to help Yuu, and make the world a better place. It'll be worth it, to save innocent people. And trust me, they're going to be planning for anything that'll go wrong.

Even if Mal has to become a dragon to drag the cultists out :)

I love your headcanons so much! What careers do you think Team Natsu would pursue if they lived in our world?

I feel like obviously Lucy would still want to do writing. Maybe a bit of journalism (especially in regard to standing up for groups of people) on the side while also doing some modeling or influencing since we've seen her do it in the show and manga.

Gray I picture doing something artsy especially when you look at how artistic his magic can be. Maybe something like Sculptor. Just imagining him being in his art student years being an absolute heartthrob while he is being emo and artsy. I would imagine some fashion as well because he always has the best fits of fairy tail (when he hasn't stripped it off lol).

I'm not sure about Erza and Natsu yet.

But I would LOVE to hear your headcanons of what you think?

I can't believe I've never thought about this

Lucy is a fashion influencer as well as a booktoker. This popularity really helped her when she got her first novel published since she already had a huge fanbase

Now Lucy does both. Her passion being writing but her main source of income is influencing

Natsu is a firefighter. It's mostly volunteer work tho

He makes his money being a jackass level daredevil on the internet. Natsu does wild stunts and goes on all types of crazy adventures (sponsored by redbull of course)

Gray def has an artsy job. He doesn't have one set job and instead does a bunch of odd jobs here and there

He's a graffiti artist, ice sculptor, muralist, ceramist, and many other things

He also does nude modeling for art schools and helps Lucy with her fashion influencing. He's very popular on her page but is too busy to make his own account (Tho he does get requested to walk on runways)

Erza works in security. She's done pretty much every security type of work but prefers body guard work for celebrities. But that's mostly because she likes going to all the fancy parties and such

Her dream is to open a bakery one day, but she isn't sure how to go about it so she just does it on the side for her friends

Wendy is already taking classes to help her get into medical school. That girl will be a doctor and she will save many lives

IT MAKES ME SO HAPPY😭😭😭😭 I LOVE THEM I can just imagine the three of them having their “fights” but they all know it’s all good between them, and Makarov coming between them like “NO don’t fight!!!😨😨😨 STOP IT.
