Picket Fence
A/N: No thoughts, only rant fic about being aroflux, especially on Valentine’s. This is purely self-indulgent. I wrote this in about three hours so...there’s that lol. Anyways, I hope you like it regardless. Oh btw, Arion is non-binary and uses they/them pronouns, hope that’s clear.
A/N2: Please excuse any grammatical errors. / Trystan Thorne belongs to Pixelberry; Arion is mine.
Book: Crimes of Passion
Pairing: Arion dela Rosa & f!Trystan Thorne (Platonic)
Song Inspiration: I Don’t Wanna Fall in Love - Addison Grace
Word Count: 632
© 2023 writing-not
Trystan Thorne’s eyes graze over their body; eager, but not enough. Arion lies in a sea of gnashing waves of white silk, hand to moonlit eyes. A storm rages outside; the rain banging its fists upon the windows of their apartment, ignored. It shouldn’t be. It should’ve been loved for what it was. It should’ve been known.
This isn’t about the rain.
“Leave me alone, Trystan.” Arion moans, rolling onto their stomach.
“And let this migraine take you? I refuse.” She replies pointedly, gesturing to the cup of chamomile tea in her hands.
Trystan steadily lowers herself on the panel of the wooden floor bed. She reaches for Arion but her hand abruptly stops, withdrawing back into her lap. For a moment she’d forgotten how they didn’t like to be touched; she scolds herself for it. And her worry grows.
Up and down, there and back again. Arion’s back arches as their breaths are muffled by a pillow squished between them and the mattress.
“Chocolate actually gives me migraines; have I ever told you that?” Arion says quietly. Trystan only catches their voice like the wind, gently yet out of reach.
Trystan lets the minute escape and lets the moment play like a movie. (It might as well have been.) The porcelain cup she’s holding melts and becomes one with her hand as she forgets its presence, its warmth subsides like embers in a hearth.
“And here I thought that you were some kind of impenetrable robot, but no!” She laughs, setting aside the cup on their nightstand. “You and I are the same after all, hm? Heart, bones, cartilage, and all. I’m surprised.”
“Is this supposed to be romantic?’
“Whatever you want it to be.”
“Haha, very funny.”
Trystan slowly arches an eyebrow. “I mean it.”
Arion turns their head, half of their face still buried into the pillow. They also didn’t know. It was hard not knowing what they felt, especially on Valentine’s Day (well, even on any day really), given that their romantic attraction ever so fluctuates during the span of a day. In the morning they could fall head over heels for a long-haired man with a turtleneck on the train, in the afternoon they could despise love and all its oddities, in the evening they could feel nothing towards that ever-pervading emotion. It was all perplexing and ambiguous. Day by day, Arion falls into a spiral and it never ends.
“Do I have to know?” Arion frowns, clutching the pillow closer to their chest. “Do I need to know?”
And Trystan’s heart crumbles.
Arion purses their lips before responding. “Am I not a “freak” in your eyes as mamà says?” They kept a smile with no warmth. “She told me so after demanding a grandchild yet again. She told me I was selfish and cold. I did nothing wrong, Trys.”
Trystan’s heart falls, it’s all it can afford to do. Falling. Falling. Falling.
“I’m sorry.” Her eyes shift to the window, she looks to some kind of distance she tries to find; it doesn’t exist, neither does the answer. All she has is reassurance and hopes that it will be enough. (It won’t be but… she tries.) “For what it’s worth, whatever your mother told you earlier, she was wrong about all of it, alright? She didn’t deserve to tell you all those things.”
A tear falls from Arion’s eye. No reaction.
“What can I do for you now, hm? I’m right here if you need me.” Trystan whispers.
They sputter before the words finally fall out. “I– Is it ok if you can just stay here. You don’t have to do anything. I just need to know that you’re here. You’re on my side.”
A look comes in passing.
Bedside, the tea sits cold.

The Destruction Of Israel By Rome In 136 CE Was An Error We, The Successor States, Must Correct, Lest Civilization Is Not Defended Anymore
We are extremely close to all-out nuclear war in the Middle East. The origin of this is the call by all too many authorities for the annihilation of Israel, as a particular religion has advocated since 632 CE… Those who call for the extermination of some enemies immediately create moral advocacy for their own extermination. Another reason for calling for the extermination of Israel is that Israel…

As a Targeted Woman, do you feel that your home is being illegally bugged and that your private conversations are being shared with others?
Do you feel that you are being electronically harassed, or cyberstalked?
When you write a post or an e-mail, do you constantly have to re-edit, as someone comes in and changes your spelling and alters your grammar, in attempt to discredit your narrative and your credibility?
When you review online posts in the community, do you notice these same types of errors, while other posts appear articulate and correct?
There's a red flag right there. Our own community of those trying to help others is of course being monitored and manipulated.
In addition to Federal protection, there are also state laws that will protect you as well.
California is a two-party recording state. If you don't live in California, look up the laws for your state.
Two party states require the recording party and the party being recorded must both consent.
Federal Law and Interstate Recordings
Generally, if both parties are within the same state, the state law will apply. When one party is in California and the other one is outside the state, the two-party consent rule applies to actors outside of California, if they are communicating with people in California who have not given consent. Essentially, California protects those in the state from being recorded without their consent even where the out-of-state actor is in a state which permits “one party consent.
California Wiretapping Law
California's wiretapping law is a "two-party consent" law. California makes it a crime to record or eavesdrop on any confidential communication, including a private conversation or telephone call, without the consent of all parties to the conversation. See Cal. Penal Code § 632. The statute applies to "confidential communications" -- i.e., conversations in which one of the parties has an objectively reasonable expectation that no one is listening in or overhearing the conversation. See Flanagan v. Flanagan, 41 P.3d 575, 576-77, 578-82 (Cal. 2002). A California appellate court has ruled that this statute applies to the use of hidden video cameras to record conversations as well. See California v. Gibbons, 215 Cal. App. 3d 1204 (Cal Ct. App. 1989). (Digital Media Law)
This is a Federal crime and just one of many these groups commit on a regular basis.
The FBI has separate divisions assigned to each of these.
Not to mention a state of California crime. If you live in another state, look up the laws that apply.
Law Enforcement, you are being asked to do your part.
Break this damaging cycle of events. Arrest and charge them now, and then clearly enforce such violations when and where they occur in the future.
The journey always begins with that first small step

CAD Tips
CAD Tips
For those who are in the design departments this section contains a few tips on improving graphical communication. Our main concern is that a drawing contains all of the necessary information to construct the part. Clear and accurate drawings help ensure that each customer gets the product they are expecting. An analysis of previous nonconformance, reworks and rejects has shown that a significant source of errors is due to poor or incomplete drawings. A poor drawing can take as much as five times longer to process than a good drawing. To get more news about cad tips and tricks, you can visit shine news official website.
Due to the number of people and steps involved in the manufacturing process, the drawing should stand on its own and not require verbal ancillary information. Hansen Industries can provide a service to bring drawings to standard or refer the customer to a third party CAD provider. The manufacturing time and part quality can be improved further if the drawing is transmitted electronically or provided on diskette. This section describes a set of drawing standards, which, if followed, will improve the chances of receiving a part that could be used in production on the first run. All drawings should be 3rd angle projection, according to North American standard. If a drawing is in 1st angle projection (usually from European customers) it should be noted on the drawing. With most parts a minimum of three views should be given (i.e. top, front, side). An isometric view with hidden lines removed will aid in the visualization of complex parts. Provide a general assembly drawing for multi-part assemblies. When dimensioning parts, please adhere to these guidelines: For CAD drawings, always draw full scale with true size for holes, cutouts, special shaped holes (i.e. single and double 'D') and DB cutouts.
Use ordinate dimensioning with a common datum between views. Dimension all hole diameters, including PEM fastener holes. Use hole charts to reduce clutter. Fully specify all hardware (i.e. f0.137 +0.003"/-0.000" for FH-632-8 4 PLCS THIS SIDE). Show direction of projection in other views. Dimension radii of all rounded corners and cutouts. Use text heights of no less than 0.090". Provide additional views to avoid over-crowding. Dimension corner notching clearances. For a grid pattern of holes, provide row and column spacing rather than dimensioning every hole. Please do not dimension off of center lines unless symmetry is indicated. For counter sunk holes, dimension the ID and OD as well as the depth of the countersink required and specifies the screw (imperial or metric) that the countersink is intended for as well. Indicate critical dimensions on the drawing for inspection purposes. Although we are a precision sheet metal shop, try to relax tolerances as much as possible. An industry adage is "adding a zero to tolerance adds a zero to the price". Welding details specifying weld location and type of weld should be given. Clearly indicate whether flange dimensions are inside or outside. Outside dimensions are preferred. Dimensions should not converge to a non-measurable point

Okay gonna rant coz I already did all this math for something else and I'm mad anyway.
Minimum wage in my state is $10.10
Many places used to do the thing of saying part time and then having it be like .1 hours under what is considered full time but they can't do that any more due to new laws saying if your average weekly hours are above a set amount for a 4 week period they have to give you benefits so rather than do the math they just hire at 15-20 hours a week
Which means to get full time 40 hours a week you need to work two or three jobs and hope the schedules don't overlap and if the schedules do overlap hope the places don't go "show up or get fired"
Now for math! If you are lucky enough to get 40 hours a week at minimum wage you're making $404 a week, or let's say $808 every two weeks as is the usual pay period
Keeping in mind that's before taxes come out; after taxes according to a calculator found on my state's official .gov website that's $632 every two weeks, or about $1,264 a month
The average one bedroom/one bathroom apartment in my area runs $1,000 a month on average and that's without utilities
On top of that, unless you have someone to cosign for you since they still have this outdated image that your rent should be no more than 1/3 of your income if you're not making at least $3,000 a month they will usually deny you
So to afford a one bedroom/one bathroom apartment you either need to share with 2 other people or work 120 hours a week at 9 different jobs without scheduling errors; keeping in mind there's only 168 hours in a week, so that work load leaves you 48 hours per 7 days [about 6.8 hours a day] to sleep, eat, shower, transport yourself to work, clean, do laundry, go grocery shopping, etc.
And let's say you do manage to find 2 people that you're willing to share a single bedroom and bathroom with [assuming you're just working 40 hours a week] so the rent goes down to $334 per month [rounding]
Of the $1,264 you've made that just leaves $930 per month to pay for a car/gas or transport like Uber since my area has 0 public transport, utilities [since those aren't covered in the rent], internet and phone bills, an groceries.
My last roommate's car bill was $300 a month, gas to get to and from his job that was just a 15 minute drive was nearly $100 a month. And can't forget car insurance, which you need to be able to legally drive! The cheapest car insurance in my state is about $80 a month, so there goes $480 leaving $450 behind if you're lucky to have a job that's so close by and not a 30-45 minute commute like my mom had when I was growing up
Utilities averaged around $100 a month and the internet $80 for stuff that didn't shut down the second we were both trying to watch videos on our computers, so let's say that's $180 divided by 3 people coming out to $60 a month which leaves $390
The current cheapest price I can find for cell phones is $30 a month through Cricket. Yes other places offer cheaper, including Mint Mobile at $15 a month, but those places only come at that price if you pay multiple months [usually 3-12 months] in one big lump sum. So let's take the $30 a month, leaving now $360 a month left over
I shop for myself, and my grocery bill averages $70 a week right now because of inflation. That's with me buying store brands, buying stuff to cook myself if the component ingredients are cheaper, doing meal prep, buying stuff that's on sale, having access to my house mate's store card that gives discounts on store brands because he works there, coupons, and every other money saving method that's reasonable for me. So $280 a month for groceries, and let's bump that up to $300 to account for times you gotta buy things like laundry detergent, deodorant, shampoo/conditioner, and things like that. We're down to $60 a month
$60 a month that you get to set aside to have savings. No going out to dinner, no subs to streaming services or your favorite video game or whatever, no accounting for pets or renters insurance or random expenses or your roommates eating your food or health insurance [since your jobs will likely fight you on providing it] or doctor visits or needing maintenance on your car or anything else
Working 40 hours a week with at least two jobs, often three, will leave you $60 a month to spend on non-bills if you share a one bedroom/one bathroom apartment with 2 people and the rent and utilities are paid equally between everyone and you have no surprise expenses
And people wonder why my generation and those younger have just given up on everything. This is the kind of shit that's happening to us and we get blamed for being lazy or not wanting to work but the reality is we know it doesn't matter; even if we do work we won't make enough and when we say we're struggling we'll still be called lazy when it's not our fault our government benefits too much from corporate greed to do anything meaningful about it. And why I'm just....tired. So, so tired.

The Quran: Revelation or Forgery?
By Goodreads Author Eli Kittim
——-
Did Muhammad Exist?
Before we embark on a brief criticism of the Quran, it’s important to note that there is “very little biographical information” (Wiki) concerning the historicity of its founder, Muhammad:
Attempts to distinguish between the
historical elements and the unhistorical
elements of many of the reports of
Muhammad have not been very successful
(Wiki).
(see: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Historicity_of_Muhammad#Views_of_secular_historians).
Of course, this opens up the possibility of whether or not the unknown author of the Quran invented the Muhammad tradition to bolster his credibility. In order to determine the answer to this question, it is crucial to consider the evidence of *intertextuality* in the Quran, that is to say, the literary dependence of the Quran on earlier texts and sources.
——-
How historically reliable is the Quran?
Firstly, with regard to source criticism——that is, the sources that the Quran’s message is derived from——there are some very serious issues involved. For example, there are well-known parallelisms between the Quran and the extra-biblical, non-inspired book of Talmud (e.g. Surah 5:32; cf. Sanhedrin 37a) as well as borrowing from Christian apocryphal works that were written hundreds of years after the purported events and which claim to be legitimate Christian gospels but are not. Case in point, The Infancy Gospel of Thomas:
The Infancy Gospel of Thomas is thought to
be Gnostic in origin. . . . Early Christians
regarded the Infancy Gospel of Thomas as
inauthentic and heretical. Hippolytus
identified it as a fake and a heresy in his
Refutation of All Heresies, and his
contemporary Origen referred to it in a
similar way in a homily written in the early
third century. Eusebius rejected it as a
heretical ‘fiction’ in the third book of his
fourth-century Church History, and Pope
Gelasius I included it in his list of heretical
books in the fifth century. While non-
canonical in Christianity, the Infancy Gospel
of Thomas contains many miracles and
stories of Jesus referenced in the Qur'an,
such as Jesus giving life to clay birds (Wiki).
So, the Quran clearly employs Jewish and Christian apocryphal works that were never accepted as canonical or as “inspired” either by Jews or Christians. Thus, at least some of the sources of the Quran are highly dubious.
Secondly, in 632 CE, following Muhammad’s death, the Battle of Yamama ensued where a great number of those who had supposedly retained the Quran in their memory (hafiz) actually died. How then can Muslims claim the preservation of the Quran through memory and oral transmission?
Thirdly, the New Testament is the best attested book from the ancient world as well as the most scrutinized book in history, and one which has a critical edition. By contrast, the Quran has not been critically scrutinized rigorously in the same manner, nor does it have a critical edition, nor is the manuscript evidence made available to scholars for serious study. There’s a secrecy surrounding it that seems to prevent scholarly investigations. For example, because it lacks a critical edition, there are no footnotes in the Quran to notify the reader about manuscript evidence or textual discrepancies or omissions, such that “(some verses eaten by a goat; Ibn Majah, Book of Nikah, p.39) or that (Umar records the missing verses; Bukhari 8.82.816 & 817).
Fourthly, Orientalists have often questioned the historical authenticity of the Quran by charging Uthman ibn Affan (the 3rd Caliph of Islam) of consigning variant copies of the Quran to the flames during his reign.
Fifthly, the controlled transmission of the Quran makes it impossible to know what was the original. Hence its textual integrity is seriously compromised. By contrast, in the case of the New Testament, for example, since no one person controlled all the manuscripts, it would be impossible to uniformly corrupt all the documents. In the case of the Quran, however, the text was in fact controlled by one person, the khalifa, as attested by Uthman's authority to recall and uniformly revise all the manuscripts. Therefore, it would have been extremely easy for the Quran to have been uniformly corrupted in a textually undetectable manner. For example, the “Sanaa manuscript,” which contains earlier developments of the Quran, demonstrates textual variances that diverge from the Uthman copy.
In conclusion, the Quran doesn’t allow us to come any closer to the original text than the Uthmanic Revised Standard Version 20 years removed from Muhammad. Any errors which found their way into the URSV would be permanent and uncorrectable. And, unfortunately, historical accounts from early Islam tell us that such errors existed!
——-
The Quran is Based on Dubious Sources
Besides the numerous and traceable Judeo-Christian apocryphal works that the author used within the Quran itself, he also got a lot of his ideas from a group that was an offshoot of the Ebionites called the “Sabians,” variously known as Mandaeans or Elcesaites. The Sabians followed Hermeticism and adored John the Baptizer:
Occasionally,
Mandaeans are called
‘Christians of Saint
John’ . . . the ‘Sabians’
are described several
times in the Quran as
People of the Book,
alongside Jews and
Christians (Wiki).
According to Origen and Eusebius, the Sabians used an extra-biblical book that they claimed was given by an Angel (maybe another idea adopted by Muhammad?) to deny portions of Scripture as well as the writings of Paul! So, this idea of challenging Christianity and claiming to have received a new revelation from an angel is quite common in ancient times. It is not unique to Islam. Others had made similar claims. Thus, without completely rejecting the possibility of *revelation* in at least some portions of the Quran, the majority of its theological narratives are largely based on dubious and questionable sources, derived from spurious texts that were under the radar of heresiologists across the ancient world!
——-
Two Apocryphal Works Employed by the Quran to Deny the Crucifixion of Jesus
//Second Treatise of the Great Seth is an apocryphal Gnostic writing discovered in the Codex VII of the Nag Hammadi codices and dates to around the third century. The author is unknown, and the Seth referenced in the title appears nowhere in the text. Instead Seth is thought to reference the third son of Adam and Eve to whom gnosis was first revealed, according to some gnostics. The author appears to belong to a group of gnostics who maintain that Jesus Christ was not crucified on the cross. Instead the text says that Simon of Cyrene was mistaken for Jesus and crucified in his place. Jesus is described as standing by and "laughing at their ignorance”// (Wiki).
//The Gnostic Apocalypse of Peter is a text found amongst the Nag Hammadi library, and part of the New Testament apocrypha. Like the vast majority of texts in the Nag Hammadi collection, it is heavily gnostic. It was probably written around 100-200 AD. Since the only known copy is written in Coptic, it is also known as the Coptic Apocalypse of Peter.
The text takes gnostic interpretations of the crucifixion to the extreme, picturing Jesus as laughing and warning against people who cleave to the name of a dead man, thinking they shall become pure. Like some of the rarer Gnostic writings, this one also doubts the established Crucifixion story which places Jesus on the cross. Instead, according to this text, there was a substitute:
He whom you saw on the
tree, glad and laughing,
this is the living Jesus.
But this one into whose
hands and feet they
drive the nails is his
fleshly part, which is the
substitute being put to
shame, the one who
came into being in his
likeness. But look at him
and me// (Wiki).
This is attested in the Quran:
That they said (in boast), ‘We killed Christ
Jesus the son of Mary, the Messenger of
Allah’—but they killed him not, nor crucified
him, but so it was made to appear to them,
and those who differ therein are full of
doubts, with no [certain] knowledge, but
only conjecture to follow, for of a surety they
killed him not—nay, Allah raised him up unto
Himself; and Allah is Exalted in Power,
Wise (Sura 4:157-158, Yusuf Ali).

A Possible Forgery: Is Muhammad Copying Augustine?
Muhammad (570 – 632 CE) seems to have modelled his conversion on Augustine of Hippo (354 – 430 CE), who was without a doubt the greatest theologian and philosopher of his day! Case in point, in 386 CE, Augustine converted to Christianity from the pagan Machanean religion. Similarly, in 610 CE, Muhammad converted to Islam from the “Jahiliyya" religion, which worshipped Allah as the creator god as well as the Kaaba in Mecca. About 224 years earlier St. Augustine had heard a voice that told him to “take up and read,” a line which became very famous and reverberated through the centuries:
As Augustine later told it, his conversion
was prompted by hearing a child's voice
say ‘take up and read’ (Latin: tolle, lege).
Resorting to the Sortes Sanctorum, he
opened a book of St. Paul's writings (codex
apostoli, 8.12.29) at random and read
Romans 13: 13–14: Not in rioting and
drunkenness, not in chambering and
wantonness, not in strife and envying, but
put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no
provision for the flesh to fulfill the lusts
thereof (Wiki).
By comparison, Muhammad appears to have used a similar line to claim that he, too, heard an Angel’s voice repeatedly say to him: “Read.” Given that Muhammad was presumably familiar with Judaism and Christianity (and especially with the foremost leading authority of his day, the African Augustine of Hippo), it seems very likely that he modelled his conversion on the latter. And, if true, that would certainly constitute a forgery!
——-
Are Allah’s Oaths Self-contradictory in the Quran?
The aforementioned textual criticisms are further compounded when we realize that the Quran contains further theological discrepancies. For example, there are numerous verses in the Quran where Allah is swearing by created things that are less-than-God, thus committing “shirk” (i.e. the sin of ascribing divine status to any other beings beside Allah). Here’s a case in point. In sura 81:15, Allah says: “But nay! I swear by the stars.” Another example is sura 91 verse 1: “I swear by the sun and its brilliance.” When God supposedly swears by something which is less than himself the truth value of his assertion is obviously weakened. By definition, an oath is meant to buttress an argument, not to decrease the weight thereof. Therefore, the truth value of an oath is equivalent to, and connected with, the truth value of the one who declares it. As such, Allah’s oaths (swearing by created things) directly contradict his so-called divine status. By contrast, the God of the Bible swears by Himself, since there is nothing greater to swear under (cf. Gen. 22.16; Isa. 45.23; Heb. 6.13). By definition, an oath is a solemn attestation of the truth of one's words. In this case, how can Allah’s oaths be trustworthy if they appeal to something that is less than himself? Answer: they cannot! It appears, then, that the aforementioned oaths in the Quran are reflecting a human rather than a divine author.
——-
Is Muhammad the Prophesied False Prophet of Revelation?
During the Early Middle
Ages, Christendom
largely viewed Islam as a
Christological heresy
and Muhammad as a
false prophet (Wiki).
In short, following the Arab conquest of the Middle East and due to the *military expansion* of Islam into Europe and Central Asia since the 700’s (toppling one country after another), Muhammad was increasingly seen as a possible candidate for the office of the *false-prophet-of-Revelation* (cf. Rev. 16.13; 19.20; 20.10): https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Medieval_Christian_views_on_Muhammad
——-
Conclusion
Muslims claim that the Quran is neither corrupted nor influenced by Judeo-Christian sources, and yet upon further scrutiny the book clearly incorporates passages from both the Jewish Talmud and from various Christian apocryphal works. Plagiarism abounds, and so does forgery. Therefore, it is extremely difficult, if not impossible, to maintain that it’s a “revelation” when at least some of the sources of the Quran are highly dubious!
Moreover, Islam has nothing new to offer by way of revelation. Its doctrine could simply be classified as a modified theological redundancy of the Judeo-Christian tradition and the Biblical heritage that preceded it. The main difference between Islam and Christianity is this. Unlike the Quran’s singular witness and source——given that it was only revealed to *one* man (Muhammad)——the revelations of the New Testament were imparted to many different people, thereby authenticating its message by multiple attestations and witnesses!

hi!! my multipleresizer tends to not gif portrait sized gifs (e.g videos from ig stories, portrait videos) cuz when i click the second gif in the chrome editor it tends to go out of bounds with the video and whenever i input the code at avspmod it dosen't seem to get the right size :( is there any way to fix this?
Hello I am super sorry for the late response. Please forgive me! Yes that is a bug unfortunately. All you have to do is right click somewhere on the gray background and click "Reload Frame"
The resizer should go back to normal for that video and you can resize and crop normally. Reloading the frame won't mess with settings you made for other scenes! Make sure you do this for all the scenes that look weird in the resizer.
*NOTE: Try to make sure that the width and the height in your output code are even numbers to avoid errors. Example: if the code is resamplehq(353,629,srcmatrix="TV.709") or debilinear(353,629), try to resize your video to something even like resamplehq(354,632,srcmatrix="TV.709") or debilinear(354,632)*
I hope that this helps!
