Good morning! I hope you slept well and feel rested? Currently sitting at my desk, in my study, attired only in my blue towelling robe, enjoying my first cuppa of the day. Welcome to Throwback Thursday!
On this page, ‘Throwback Thursday’ is going to be about memories.
So, what do you remember? If I was to say the word SEA, what immediately comes to mind?
For me, the first thing that comes to mind is a birthday party in Denmark. He was an old family friend and the party was at a holiday home literally across the road from the sea. It was a crazy virtually all-night party; a lot of drinking and wobbly dancing and, at whatever time in the morning, they brought some mattresses and sleeping bags downstairs, and people slept on the lounge floor. In the morning, the birthday boy decided he wanted to swim in the sea, so we all got up, crossed the road and began running towards the sea. I suddenly became aware that, as people were running, they were taking off their clothes, so I did the same. When we all hit the sea, we were all naked, and that early morning water woke us up good and proper! And then we came home for breakfast!
On this Throwback Thursday, what kind of memories does the word SEA conjure up for you?
Yesterday, I posted a photo of my lunch. Don’t do that often but, around Easter, certain traditions must be observed. It was merely two slices of buttered bun and several slices of cheese. The comments were hilarious and it just goes to prove what Errol Dunkley once said, “Every man do his thing a little way different.”
Michael Angol said, “Friday morning, Lindsay.” He’s clearly a traditionalist and felt I should wait for Good Friday. No chance, mate! Shakatak bass player George Denniston Anderson wrote, “Bun and cheese yes man, but with butter??” George, in my house, we love butter! We even put butter in cheese on toast! FeEmpress L-g said, “ That bun deserves thicker cheese slices than that‼️” To be fair, Fiona, there were lots and lots of thin slices. Miriam Rosier said, “Needs a home made pickle onion.“ Erm, Miriam, no! It’s not a Ploughman’s Lunch. Nick Hosier wrote, “Hope it’s an extra mature cheddar.” For me, Nick, it’s got to be extra mature, but to each their own. While Sheree Brooks wrote, “Long queues already in Brixton for this!” Not me, sister! WMT (white man time) beat the queue!
Yesterday, I went out again and bought some sliced hard dough bread and some sweet potatoes. The Trouble and I are working from home today, and she will require her bacon sarnie around 1.00. We’ll have salmon on Good Friday with roast sweet potatoes. Deee-licious!
Tonight, I’m giving a Zoom seminar to some young students based in Sutton. It’s called ‘How To Build A Social Media Presence’. This I can help them with. We’ve been doing this for decades, haven’t we? Remember MySpace? That was 20 years ago!
Have a throbbing and thrusting Thursday (with hopefully a few thrills through your thoroughfare?) I love you all.
