Eriks x Baker!Reader Part 2
Eriks watched you from his seat, finding it hard to divide his attention between Lina and eye fucking you. After he had you quivering around his face, struggling to talk calmly to your remaining customers, he couldn't stop craving more.
You plagued his thoughts, every night he'd dream of you wrapped around his cock, screaming his name. It drove him wild, like an animal in heat.
"Mr Eriks, you haven't ordered your usual." Eriks blinked, realisation that he was face to face with your breasts. He jumped back, sitting upright as he hid his blushing face.
"I'm sorry, just thought you had it downpacted by now." He covered up the throb in his pants by laughing obnoxiously, only to quieten at your stern look.
"Mr Eriks, you have ten different usuals at best, I can't guess which one you crave by the way you stare at me." Lina snorted, concealing her laughter as Eriks's face turned bright red.
Lowering his head in embarrassment, he mumbled out his order. You nodded, mockingly patting his head as you walked away. Just that small action had him wanting to throw your body over the counter, fucking you covered in sweets and whipped cream. Instead his head hit the small bakery table, inwardly groaning at his inner turmoil. He couldn't stand another second without you, he wanted to rub himself against you, tickling your beautifully soft, plush skin with his peach fuzz, the smell of your arousal like an intoxicating drug as he ploughed into your sex.
Eriks wasn't listening to Lina anymore, distracted by the way you laughed along with a familiar older couple, he remembered you mentioning they were your favourite regulars. Though try as he might, Eriks couldn't stop staring at your ass, more filth filled thoughts swarming his mind.
Eventually it became unbearable, he couldn't take how you actively ignored him yet swayed your hips just that tiny bit more, or bent down to pick up some 'clumsily' knocked over paper cups. Every action was filled with purpose, knowing that Eriks gaze burned into you, knowing that he was struggling to stay composed. So when he abruptly rose from his seat, a blushing, flustered mess, you smiled. . . Innocently.
And that's what made him snap.
Apologising profusely to the couple you were talking to, that he so rudely interrupted, Eriks rested his prickly chin on your shoulder. That pleading, longing sideways glance he gave you had you giggling, patting his hair.
"I'll close up early, wanna wait upstairs for me?" He nodded, pretending not to notice the way Lina's glare drilled holes along his spine.
You gave Eriks a quick kiss to cheek, returning to your conversation, now bubbling with praised coos at your display of affection. While slinking off behind the counter, Lina stormed towards him, if looks could kill he'd be burning in hell.
"When were you gonna tell me you and Y/N were a thing?" She demanded, hands slamming down on the counter.
"We're not really a thing Lina, I just help them on some occasions ya know." If only Eriks was a better liar, maybe he could've spared himself from his friend's fury.
"You're so full of shit, Eriks! Not a thing? Then why did they kiss you? Don't lie to me, or I'm taking away donut day!" Eriks couldn't help the whine, pouting as faux tears streamed down his face.
"Perhaps, just maaaaybe we are a thing." His voice was so quiet that Lina had to force him to repeat himself a few more times before she could understand.
"Was it really that hard to tell me? Just be back by morning, now shoo." Eriks couldn't contain his excitement, nodding so rapidly that his head looked as if it would fly off.
Lina just shook her head, yet she couldn't help the smile on her face. It had taken the dork weeks, hell months even, for him to gain enough courage to speak to you. Now he was able to openly display affection towards you, eagerly waving a hello the moment you're in sight.
He was like some lost puppy, sulking until he's presented with a treat. Now he's run off again, chasing that very person who'd treat him like he was their own personal ray of sunshine.
Your moans were as addictive as a sirens song, spilling from your bruised, drool coated lips. How his name rolled off your tongue, eliciting tingling sensations down to the pit of his gut.
Eriks released your swollen tit with a lewd, loud 'pop' of his lips, face messy with whipped cream and chocolate sauce. Those beautiful eyes sparkled with clouded lust, staring at you with an adoring gaze.
"Taste...so good," he mumbled, a dopey smile on his face.
"That's because you insisted on covering me in whipped cream, chocolate and cherries." You chuckled, fingers tangled in those luscious blonde locks.
"Taste good without all that." His tongue lazily circled your perked nipple, the taste of chocolate seemed to infuse into your breasts.
Your lips parted, a soft gasp echoed through the quiet room. Finger nails dug into the scarred flesh of Eriks shoulders, back arched against him as he slowly rolled his hips, finally moving the cock buried deep within your warm folds.
Lapping up the last of the dessert that turned your body sticky with sugar, Eriks used his arm to hoist his body up. Starting of gentle and slow, his hips begun to thrust into you, stretching you around his cock. As if on cue your walls convulsed, clenching Eriks as he grunted.
"Mayfly, you gotten loosen up, you got me in a choke hold here." He whined, lips pressing themselves between your slightly bouncing tits.
You whined, the two of you weren't foreign to penetrative sex with each other, but everytime was still a struggle to adjust. Eriks genitals weren't normal and you were quick to discover that Eriks himself wasn't normal either, in more ways than one. So when it came to sex he was patient, allowing you all the time you need to relax against his foreign cock.
Finally releasing your death grip, Eriks sighed in relief, placing a ticklish kiss against your lips. Whispers of praise filled your ears, all of them melting that hard, mean exterior that you'd always put on around the blonde when on the clock. But in private? You'd turn into an absolute angel, one that captivated the heart of certain disguised gunman.
"Eriks," Those soft, bandaged hands brought him back from his trance, thumbs caressing his rough face. "I can't cock warm you all night."
Humming against those beautiful hands, the same hands he'd watch knead dough, or throw handfuls of flour at him. A few kisses placed against their palms, Eriks smiled down at you, eyes shining with something he could only describe as love.
With his arm now wrapped tightly around your hardy yet small frame, Eriks began thrusting once again, only this time more harder. He watched as you tilted your head back, mouth wide as sweet, sugery moans poured out. Those sounds were pure ecstasy, encouraging him to move at a faster pace.
Soft praises were murmured into your ear, with kisses pressed against your neck, teeth nibbling at your throat. Your clit throbbed as Eriks pelvis rubbed against it, feathers tickling against the nerve bud and your spread thighs.
That ball formed in the pit of your stomach began to ache, on the edge of bursting until movement pulled you from your sweet release. Eriks repositioned himself, turning you onto your side with a leg dangled over his shoulder. The new position allowed him to fuck you deeper, hitting that spot that had you arched until your joints ached.
Eriks chuckled, revelling in the sight of you quivering beneath him. You always looked so ethereal whatever the position be, voice singing his name like honey.
Only it wasn't his actual name.
"Vash."
Clouded eyes looked to him, confusion etching its way onto your blissed out features. "I'm sorry, can you repeat that?"
"Please, call me Vash."
It felt so taboo, saying his actual name, but he wanted to hear it. He wanted to hear you say it.
Your calls of the name Eriks soon faded, willingly moaning his true name. You didn't question him, demand to know why the most wanted man had openly lied to you about his identity for one and half years. You simple complied.
That itself brought tears to Vash's eyes, hiding his face against the leg bent into the shoulder missing its arm. Tears began to soak your flesh, sniffles filling you with alarm as you hoisted your body up, leg dropping to wrap around his waist.
"Vash? What's wrong, why are you crying?" For the second time that night your hands held his face, forcing him with gentle yet firm force to look you in the eye. Those soft blue eyes were filled with tears, and for the first time since meeting the mysterious man that showed up out of nowhere, you saw just how tired Vash truly was.
Offering a smile, you placed several kisses upon his face, leaning against his forehead as he wept. The pace of his hips colliding with yours never stopped, slowing down slightly as you caressed his features with love and care. Each touch graced his scars, lips kissing every one that you could reach. Perhaps you were a little harsh to Vash every other day, but here and now you treated him as if he were a cracked, fragile vase.
"You're perfect Vash, I love you so much." You whispered, looking into those tired eyes once again.
Vash shook his head, sobbing. "You shouldn't, if I stick around too long you'll get hurt. People I care for, they'll always get hurt."
"It's a good thing you're stuck with me then, no matter what I'll always be here, to love you, to kiss your scars and to bake you the best donuts in town." A quiet laughter filled the room, Vash's pace faltering. "I'm yours as you are mine, Vash the Stampede."
Vash bit his lip, holding back a fresh wave of tears. With one final buck into your hips, both of you came, lips pressed together in a passionate kiss.
As new tears filled his eyes, Vash nuzzled into your neck, soft cries echoing off your thin walls. You allowed him to cry, leaning back so he was laying on top of you. You both stayed like that for about an hour, listening the Vash's cries as you quietly soothed his shuddering shoulders by whispering lovefilled words in his ear. He appreciated every word spoken, every comforting circle rubbed between his shoulder blades, you were too perfect for sinner like him and yet you chose to stay, even after finding out who he actually was.
"I mean it Vash, I'll always be here to love you and make sure you know that you are loved." His grip tightened around your waist, as if scared you'd vanish after saying those words.
Vash didn't speak much, mumbling out shaky 'thank yous' or 'I'm sorry'. Yet you didn't mind, laying there with the man you loved tangled in your arms, it was all so perfect. And as Vash's tears stopped, sobs turned into sleepy whimpers, you knew he'd cried himself to sleep.
You cradled him in your arms, tugging a blanket over your naked bodies as you gave him a final kiss on the crown of his head. Mumbling a final "I love you" you soon followed as you drifted into sweet embrace of your lover and sleep.
AAAAAH I finally completed it! This was so fun to write and of cause had to sprinkle a small pinch of angst, hope you all enjoyed!

Previous Part
Eriks wasn't stupid by any means. When he saw that little girl running towards him on that day in the market, he knew who she was immediately. He could never forget that child's smile, and it helped that she happened to be holding a toy that he had bought for her a long time ago.
When she latched onto his leg, crying, calling him "daddy", he felt guilt settle in the pit of his stomach. He had never wanted to leave her behind. To leave you behind. When he realized what he had done to Knives, though, he was terrified that something similar would happen to you and Iris. So he left, making sure his coat was in a place where you could find it. He knew it wasn't a proper goodbye, but he figured that it was better than nothing.
As Iris cried and held onto his leg, he realized you weren't with her. He nervously began to attempt to gently pull his daughter off of him. He wasn't sure where you were, but he wasn't sure if he could keep his composure- or his secret identity- if he saw you.
"Iris!" He heard your voice in the distance. God, how he wanted to relish in the sound of your voice for a moment, but he knew how much you cared for this girl and, with how loud she was being as she called for him, he was certain you'd find your way to the two of them soon.
"Daddy!"
"Iris... Let go, please." He whispered as the child looked up at him and shook her head, hugging his leg tighter, "I found you! Mommy will be so happy-"
"Iris! Leave that poor man alone..!" There it is again, that voice of yours, but much closer this time. Eriks' breath hitches, his head immediately lowering so that he didn't have to look at you. He wasn't sure if he could handle seeing your face right now as tears already began to fill his eyes at the sound of his daughter's sobs.
He felt you pull Iris away. A lonely feeling washed over him as he felt his daughter's hands leave his leg. "Mommy, let me go!" The child screamed as you pulled her away. With every cry, he felt his guilt worsen. Maybe it had been the wrong idea to leave the two of you behind.
He was about to turn to leave, finding it would be a good idea to get out of here before he gave into her cries, when he hears footsteps coming towards him. Iris quickly clutched onto the front of his shirt and began to cry again, "I missed you! We both missed you! When are you coming home?"
Eriks could feel his heart shatter at her words. The urge to wrap his arms around her and hug her, tell her that he's sorry, tell her that he wanted to come home was so strong. He stares at the girl for a moment before he sees your hand begin to reach for her again.
"I'm sorry, sir... She lost her father. It's been-"
"It's okay," he cut you off quickly, slowly embracing Iris, "losing a loved one is... hard." Being able to hold his daughter was one of the things he had missed the most while he was off parading around with a new identity. Another thing he missed, though, was you. He slowly brought his eyes up to look into yours, his heart sinking a bit when he finally sees you.
You looked so tired. Dark bags had sunken into the area under your eyes, but he couldn't help but admire how you looked. He loved you so much, and looking at you right now made his repressed emotions sing with a need to comfort you.
When you look into his eyes, the face you make has him thinking for a moment that you saw through his new identity. That you knew it was him. A part of him desperately wished for you to call his real name, but you stayed silent.
"I'm sorry you lost your father," Eriks continues as he rubs his daughter's back, "I'm sure he... I'm sure he cared a lot about you," he looks back up at you again, trying to hide the strain in his voice "about both of you."
He heard a soft 'thank you' escape your lips as you reached forward, taking Iris by the hand and pulling her away again. Erik's guilt worsened as Iris began to scream and cry again. He quickly turned and began to walk away. He had to, before he did something stupid.
That night, he was restless. He stared up at the ceiling, his mind swirling with ideas of what to do. He had made up his mind about halfway through his walk to his current residence. He was going to come back home. He just had to figure out how to go about it. Should he do something grand or something subtle? Something lighthearted or something serious?
Would you be upset? You should be. He wouldn't blame you if you were. He reached into the collar of his shirt and pulled out a necklace that sat around his neck, his wedding band resting on the string. It was one of the only mementos of his past that he allowed himself to keep.
As he stared at the ring, his desperation to see you grew. He was going to go to see you. Now. He had already told Lina and her grandmother before they went to bed that he was going to be leaving. The two of them had helped him freshen up. A quick shave and a haircut and he was already starting to look like his old self again. It felt weird seeing himself look like Vash again instead of Eriks.
He quickly gathered what little belongings he had and made his way out of the house. He knew the way to your home by heart. It was a small place that you two had built together. He knew exactly where it was.
It took about an hour for him to arrive. It was well into the night by now. Would you be asleep?
He stood in front of the door for a moment, contemplating whether or not this was a good idea. He glanced through the window, seeing that there were still two seats at the table. Now, though, instead of the highchair that he remembered, there was a third chair with a booster seat.
He had missed two years of his daughter growing up. He had missed her first steps. He had missed her second and third birthday. He looked through the window for a moment longer before the lights suddenly flickered on. He sees you shuffle into the kitchen, your form enveloped in something. Was that his coat? He watches as you glance at the table, before you move past it and grab a glass to fill with water. He watches you move quietly. He hadn't seen you in so long, anything that you could do right now he would still find beautiful.
You turn and walk towards the table, sitting down and placing the glass on the wood before hugging the jacket closer to yourself.
He couldn't wait anymore. Seeing you hug the jacket like that when he was right here made him even more desperate to embrace you. He moved back to the door, rapping his knuckles against the oak quickly. It takes a moment before the door opens, your tired form appearing in the frame as you rub your eyes.
"What the hell do you want-" You cut yourself off as you look into familiar eyes. You examined him for a moment before your brows furrow. "Ugh, I'm dreaming again," You groan as you attempt to close the door. Vash quickly grabs the door before you can shut it fully, pulling it open again as you blink in surprise, looking at him again. He didn't know what he should say, so he just gave you a soft smile. He hoped that was enough.
At the sight of his smile, your heart skips a beat. You let go of the door and reach up to cup his face, your hands resting on either one of his cheeks as you stare at him.
"Vash...?" You ask carefully. He nods his head slowly, moving his hand up to yours, rubbing his thumb against you knuckles. You blink again before tears start to well up in your eyes.
"Is... Is it really you? I'm not dreaming?" You asked as you pulled his face closer to you, fingers tracing the mole under his eye. He simply continues to look at you as his own eyes begin to wet. He nods his head again and you let out a mixture between a laugh and a sob.
"Say something, please! I need... I need you to tell me that this is real."
He looks at you for another beat before he leans into you hand on his cheek, "I'm here, my love. I'm home."
Another strangled laugh-sob leaves your mouth as you pull him into a tight hug. You buried your head into his shoulder as you cried, holding him as if you were worried he would leave again. You stayed like that for a while, holding him and sobbing as he stroked your hair and shushed you. You pulled away from the hug after you were sure that this was real and that he wasn't going anywhere. You cupped his face again, pulling him into a kiss full of two years of love that he had missed.
You two spent all night like that, kissing and hugging and crying. Two years without each other was far too long.
In the morning, you have Vash gently wake up Iris. When her eyes opened and she saw her father, she let out a squeal of delight, leaping out of her bed and wrapping her arms around him. Similarly to you, it seemed she couldn't decide whether to laugh or cry as tears flowed down her cheeks despite her giggling. Vash smiled as he was finally able to give his daughter a proper hug, holding her tightly against him as he started to tear up a bit.
It felt good to have a full family again.

Eriks!Vash x Ex bounty hunter!Afab!Reader
Not proofread because who was time for that
I’m also not that confident in it lolol-
Warnings: Vash is in plant heat, monster fucking??, breeding??? (TEE HEE), weird plant biology in general????, overstim, mentions of fingering. Let me know if I missed anything.
Summary: Eriks typically helps out delivering rations to everyone in town, and he just can’t help himself from being drawn in by you. However, you find people truly insufferable.
“Hey Lina, why don’t you go help Eriks with the deliveries today?” Sheryl suggests, placing a hand on her hip as she stares down at her granddaughter. Lina gives her a mischievous smile and runs out of the bar, having no intentions of helping him. She’s a troublemaker, that girl. Even if she means well she’s still constantly endangering herself.
Lina runs out into the streets and chases after Eriks, grinning from ear to ear as she jumps up and smacks him on the back. “Found ya!” She giggles, following him around the town with a smile.
It’s the same thing every day. The same people, the same route. Everything.
Except for today.
Eriks looks down at the order list, raising an eyebrow when he reads a name he’s not familiar with. He bends down and points it out to Lina.
“Where is this person’s house?” He asks her, curiosity shining beneath his glasses.
“Oh you’re not gonna like her! She’s mean!” Lina laughs and points to the house, which is on the far end of town, away from everyone else.
“Really? How so?” He tilts his head. The house looks nice from a distance… surely it can’t be all that bad.
“The rumor has it that she used to be a big bad bounty hunter!” Lina explains, her expressions over exaggerated as she speaks. “She hasn’t spoken to anyone since she moved here years ago and only comes into town when she needs more rations.” She pauses, tapping her chin in thought. “I bet she’s happy to find that someone is delivering to doorsteps now.” She shrugs,
Eriks looks out at the house, curiosity striking him. “Alright thank you Lina, I’ll be on my way now.” He gives her a wave before picking up the box of rations and heading out towards the house.
It’s a good ways away on the outskirts of the town, making him wonder if this person really did hate the people that much.
As he approaches the door, he raises a fist to knock on it gently, shouting to let them know that their rations are here. He hears a grunt come from the other side of the door and smiles in anticipation, only to be met with your gloomy and indifferent expression.
“What do you want?” You ask bitterly, looking him up and down to see if he’s armed.
“Oh! Your rations are here.” Eriks points to the box on your porch, his eyes not leaving yours.
“Okay thanks.” You huff, slamming the door in his face only to hear an ‘ouch!’ come from him. You look down and see that his foot was between the door and the frame. What a dumb decision.
“H-Hey! I would actually like to talk to you!” He stammers, smiling nervously. You can tell he’s doing his best to hide the pain in his foot, and he’s actually doing a good job doing so-
Until you put your foot on top of his.
“Listen, partner.” You grumble, leaning in close to make a point. “All I know about you is that yer the sketchy fella that Sheryl took in. And I’m not about to let a stranger like you into my house for a little chit chat.” You poke his chest with an annoyed huff. “You got that Blondie?”
He looks into your eyes, surprised that you would be so bold. There’s something odd about it… about how cold you are… how you live alone and away from the town… it’s all so strange.
“Is what Lina told me true?” He blurts out the question, his hands quickly coming up to cover his face and hide the embarrassment he’s feeling. You pause and just look at him, unsure of how to answer.
After a long moment, you shrug and turn around, looking over your shoulder at him with a smirk.
“Anythin’s true if you want it to be, partner.”
“Eriks.”
“‘Scuse me?” You stop in your tracks, now turning your body around as you face him. He’s freakishly tall, and you nearly break your neck trying to look up at him, but you manage and continue to stare.
“My name. It’s Eriks.” He smiles and sticks out his hand, waiting for you to shake it.
You look at his hand and then back up at him, raising a brow as you cross your arms stubbornly. Behind him, the sky darkens and the wind begins to pickup, signaling that a sandstorm is brewing.
“Get inside.” With a grunt, you grab your box of rations and push him into your house, ignoring his questions as you lock the door behind you. Quickly, you close all the windows and shudders. The sirens blare outside, and you swear you could have heard someone shout that it was a class four storm, which would mean that you and Eriks would be stuck together longer than intended.
You turn around to take care of your rations, pushing past him and into the kitchen without a word. It gave you something to do, and something to take your mind off of the howling storm outside. However, it was quiet in the house.
Too quiet, given how talkative your guest had been at your door.
“Ey. You still alive out there?” You call, peeking your head out of the doorway to the kitchen to see if he’s out there.
“…yeah…” How odd. He seems much more reclusive than before, and seems to be keeping his distance from you. He’s in the far corner of your living room, his knees to his chest as his eyes glow brightly, watching you closely.
It’s unsettling, to say the least. You’re stuck in your own home with a man you just met, who, funnily enough, is acting quite strange.
“Are ya afraid of sandstorms?” You ask from the kitchen, almost done shelving your items. The sound of silence reaches your ears again, and you can’t help but lean back to check on him.
“No…” He mumbles, his eyes meeting yours once again. The look in his eyes sends a shiver down your spine, the unnatural glow causing goosebumps to spread across your body.
You take a step out of the kitchen and into the living room, freezing when you see him back away further. “Then why the hell are you in that corner?” The question sounds harsh enough, but it’s laced with curiosity as you take another step towards him.
“Stay back!” But you couldn’t. It was like you were being attracted to him, being drawn in by how… mesmerizing his eyes were…
“I said stay back!”
You had stopped moving closer now, but you were still looking at him. There was just something about him that you couldn’t quite grasp. And what was that smell? It was like a mixture between honey and some form of candy, which almost made you wonder if you had left one of your jars out.
You toss your curiosity to the side as the wind slowly dies down outside. “Right. Whatever. Get out of here and go back to Sheryl.” You do your best to sound as uninterested as possible, but it’s just so hard. Why was he luring you in? You hadn’t cared him before, so why do you care now?
Without a single bit of hesitation, Eriks stumbled out of your house, that look still in his eyes. He ran and ran until he was well out of town, making you wonder if he actually did have a death wish.
For a while after that, you didn’t see him around, not even with Lina or Sheryl. It seemed that he had disappeared from your small town entirely, which you didn’t mind, but you still felt… curious.
What was he? And more importantly… what was he hiding?
Oh you just couldn’t get it out of your head. That look in his eyes… the sudden urge to be near him… You didn’t know what had come over you in that moment, but you wanted to. You wanted to understand why he left so quickly, especially when the sirens hadn’t officially stopped yet. He was in such a hurry… but why? Was it you? Had you done something to upset him? You didn’t think so… but maybe he just had a thing for closeness…
Days had passed… turning into weeks where he avoided coming near your house, dropping your rations off at the porch and leaving without a word. It was odd, but then again, his whole existence was odd, so you didn’t really mind.
Until he knocked on your door at three in the morning.
It was dark, and the wind was howling outside again, signaling that another storm was on its way. When you opened the door for him, his striking blue eyes met yours, shining with such intensity that you felt a shiver run up your spine. He towered over you in your doorway, taking small steps towards you as you backed away. What in the hell was he up to?
“I haven’t… been able to stop thinking about you…” His voice is deep and seductive, his breath seemingly heavy as if he ran all this way to be in your presence.
You’re unable to say anything, words failing to leave your mouth as he locks the door behind him and the storm sirens go off in the background. It’s a class six. Dangerous and deadly.
“Please… let me ride out this storm with you…” He bends down and attaches his lips to your neck, not even waiting for your response. Your breath hitches in your chest and you freeze, slowly turning your head to look at the man on your neck.
It’s as if he’s snapped back to reality, fear filling his eyes as he presses himself against the door suddenly, guilt filling his tone. “I’m sorry… I… I need someone… for the night… or for a while…” Eriks whispers in a breathy voice. His hand twitches, wanting nothing more than to grab ahold of your face and take you. To claim your lips as his and ravish your body.
He can already feel himself losing control, but holds himself back, biting the inside of his cheek painfully as he waits for you to answer.
And you just can’t say no…
He’s drawing you in… and like a moth to a flame, you can’t turn away…
“You may stay.” You barely manage to get the words out of your mouth before his lips are on yours, his arms snaking around you and pulling you close. He seems hesitant… like he doesn’t want to hurt you… but he just can’t stop. He’s in too deep now.
Your movements blur together, and before you know it, your back is on the couch, your shirts tossed to the side as you both become a panting mess. His long blonde hair hangs down, tickling you as his face overs above yours. You can feel him shiver at the feeling of your fingers tracing lightly over his scars… closing his eyes to relish in the feeling.
It was amazing, really. Each scar told a different story, stories that you would never understand, but stories nonetheless. Each one held a different memory, one filled with pain and sadness, you were sure.
“S-Stop…” He whispered weakly, turning his head away from you in embarrassment. “I… won’t be able to hold myself back…”
Did it really matter if he was able to? You could tell he needed this, so who were you to deny him of that? He was just such a gentleman… it was simply intoxicating.
“Don’t then.” You grabbed him by the chin and forced him to look into your eyes. He was scared, the fear and nervousness in his eyes an image that you would never forget.
He leaned in to kiss you again, much more passionate and tender than before. His tongue was sweet against yours, something similar to what the gods would have called ambrosia. Oh it was amazing.
His tongue moved against yours, his hips moving in sync with your own as he dry jumped you. A low, primal groan escaped him, and you felt what seemed to be roots slowly curling around your body.
What the hell was this?!
You looked at him and at your body, squirming at how they were moving. It tickled, but in a weird way that sort of turned you on. However, Eriks pretended that it was wasn’t real as he practically tore your pants off of your lower body. He was antsy… it was obvious.
“E-Eriks…” You whispered, your eyes widening in shock when you felt him shove two fingers in you without warning.
“Vash.” His voice was deep, his expression serious. It made you writhe in anticipation.
“E-Excuse me..?” You stammered out, your breath heavy as you tried to focus on his voice rather than his fingers inside of you. He curled his fingers, dragging the tips along the sides of your walls, eliciting a low moan from your throat.
“Say it.” He leaned in and kissed your neck as he hurriedly unbuckled his belt, sliding his pants down to his knees before aligning himself with your dripping cunt.
“Vash-“ Without any sort of forewarning, he thrust in, sheathing himself in you with a moan. He threw his head back, as if to savor the moment, but you could tell he was purposefully holding back.
In the dark, you could see markings on Vash’s skin glow, weird, feather-like things sprouting from his body as he began to thrust into you. It was entrancing, almost hypnotic.
His pace was desperate, his moans high pitched and needy. Your nails scratched into his back, leaving red marks in their wake as he pounded into you relentlessly.
Two of the roots that had been curling around you now cupped your breasts, as if to pleasure you further. It was a strange feeling, but you couldn’t help but moan at the contact. He had you wrapped around his finger, your mind blank and his name falling off your lips like a prayer.
It seemed like hours later that he finally finished rearranging your guts, collapsing onto you with a huff. All of the weird features such as the feathers and the roots disappeared as his breathing calmed, his face buried in the crook of your neck and his breath warm on your skin.
You couldn’t think straight- hell you couldn’t even breathe. There were tears of pleasure in your eyes and your legs had been shaking since you had cum the first time.
“What… are you..?” You managed to ask after finally regaining your breath.
“You’ll find out in time…”
You patted his head gently and decided that he was some sort of angel. One that was never meant to be understood by the minds of humans. One with needs and desires so strong that they’re incomprehensible to the human race. You dubbed him a divine being of the highest authority, beautiful and powerful.
He was an angel. Just not in the way you would have thought.
“Your secret is safe with me, Vash the Stampede.”
The words hung in the air, and you felt him tense at the sound of his name. He hadn’t expected that you would have figured it out… but he didn’t mind. He’d worry about that later. All that matters now is this. This moment right here. Of his skin on yours and your arms wrapped around each other.
You swear you heard him crying softly, his shoulders moving occasionally as you rested.
All that mattered to him was now. It was all he needed, all he had ever dreamed of. Physical contact.
“Thank you…” His voice came out in a soft whisper as he lifted his head to give you a smile.
He sounded so fragile… so broken…
You couldn’t let anything happen to him, regardless of who or what he was. He’s yours and you’re his until he moves on to the next town.
Until then… you’ll just keep being drawn in by him, doomed to repeat your mistakes.

And I thought about Eriks Vash, fluff where fem reader is playing, brushing and braiding his long hair, and when they hug, to feel his stubble against her cheek or other places and If we could apply some bit of spice?👉🏻👈🏻👀 Also if Erics Vash could be really affectionate as well
Feel free to decline though, if not for your liking.
Thank you for reading my Daycare Snacks series! It means a lot! (I will upload the next chapter sometime next week. Work has been a lot lately). Also my first Eriks Vash! This will mainly apply to Trigun Maximum Eriks. Although this can also apply to Trigun Stampede Eriks so I hope this is to your liking! As for spice...that can be arranged~
Everytime We Touch
It was another windy day in the this small town you called home. You worked at the saloon so you knew all the locals that came by for a drink or a place to beat the heat. Sadly, there weren't too many people that occupied the place. Anytime you saw a fresh face come inside, they never stayed for long. Mainly because of the bounty hunters and bandits that showed up. So imagine your surprise when Lina introduced you to Eriks one day.
Eriks was one of the tallest guys you've ever met. He dressed causally with a simple beige button up. He had beautiful long blonde hair that hid those glistening blue eyes of his. When Lina told you that he would be staying at her place, a part of you was happy. Finally, someone new to talk to! Except, you didn't talk to him for weeks. Apparently, Eriks was put to work running errands for the most part. Thus, you only caught glimpses of him whenever you worked the front counter. A part of you wondered what he was like. What was his story? Why stay in this town? Who were his friends? What did he like? Questions like those would constantly plague your mind whenever you had down time at work.
One night, a group of bounty hunters and rowdy men were having a party. Your hands were practically full from taking care of everyone's orders. Even your boss was trying to make sure no one waited too long on a drink. Once the party ended, you were left with a mess to clean up. As you were stacking the plates up, you tried your best to balance them before heading towards the kitchen. The sound of footsteps hitting the wooden floor were heard near the entrance.
"Hey there. If you can't tell from the mess here, we're closed," you called out. As you turned around, you caught a glimpse of a peculiar tall blonde standing inside.
"Hey Eriks, what brings you here?" you asked.
"I was heading home after finishing some errands. Then I saw you by yourself while I was passing by," he explained.
"Oh don't mind me. I'm just cleaning up here. We had a big party tonight. I gotta get this mess cleaned up before tomorrow morning," you replied as you lifted the stack of plates up. Halfway through, you heard the clanging and clinging of tableware from behind you. You turned around to see Eriks was cleaning up a table.
"Eriks, you don't have to worry about me. Go home and rest," you insisted.
"Let me help you. It'll be faster to clean up," Eriks offered as he carried the dirty silverware to the kitchen. As he put the items in the sink, you sighed at the man before you. Well, you were curious about him for the longest time and now he's here helping you clean up late at night. Both of you managed to clean the saloon in an hour. The dishes were spotless, tables were organized, and the chairs were set up.
"Wow! We actually finished before midnight!"
"I told you it would be faster if we cleaned up together," he replied.
Well I appreciate you stopping by and offering a helping hand. Since you went out of your way for me, I got something for you," you added. You brought out a platter of sandwiches that you made earlier for the party.
"For me? Are you sure Y/n?" he asked eyeing at the food.
"Of course! Consider it as my way of saying thanks," you explained as you gestured him to the front of the bar.
"Thanks, I shouldn't though," Eriks reasoned. Before anyone could get another word in, Eriks' stomach growled loud enough for you to hear. Eriks was taken aback as his body betrayed him.
"Eriks, sit down and eat before you pass out," you commanded as you gestured him to sit down next to you. He did what he was told as he sat down and started eating. You could tell he enjoyed the food as he smiled with every bite. Then you noticed Eriks would push away strands of his hair before taking another bite.
"Hold on a sec," you told him as you went into the kitchen and grabbed your bag. Eriks eyed at you as you held a hair tie and brush in your hands.
"Turn to your right for me," you spoke.
"What are you doing?" he asked.
"Keeping your hair out of your face," you answered. You gently grabbed part of his hair to start brushing through. Slowly and gently, you combed out any tangles from his hair that might have been ravaged by the desert winds. Surprisingly, his hair was silky soft as your fingers ran through his locks. Once you brushed all of his hair, you started tying his golden hair into a smooth ponytail.
"And done! What do you think?" you asked as you pulled up a mirror near by. Eriks looked in awe at his new look as you smiled at your work. You left most of the shorter parts of his hair alone to perfectly frame his face, while the rest was tied up to where it wouldn't bother him. Finally, you got a better look of Eriks' face and his pretty blue eyes.
"Wow! I look great! Thanks Y/n! I'll give you your hair tie back when I'm done eating!" he thanked you while feeling his new hairstyle.
"Nah you can keep it. I got tons of those back at my place. Besides, you need it more than I do," you insisted. It was then Eriks flashed you a cheeky smile to show you how much he appreciated the kind gesture. As he continued eating, you couldn't help but smile at the man before you. You were slowly finding out more about the kind of person Eriks was. From that night forward, Eriks would continue to see you.
The next morning, you woke up to the hot sun. You decided to tie your hair up to help cool you off. As you walked to the saloon, you saw someone waiting at the front entrance. Stepping closer, you recognized the long blonde hair swaying with the wind.
"Y/n! Glad I could catch you this morning!" Eriks waved.
"Hey Eriks! Nice seeing you too! Did you need something?" you asked. You already knew he was always busy with errands first thing in the morning. So seeing him at the saloon was a bit out of the blue. Not that you were complaining.
"Uh, if it's not too much to ask...could you tie my hair again? I tried to do it this morning but I can't seem to get it right. Plus, it would help if my hair wasn't in the way while I work," he asked. You could tell he was fidgeting when asking you this. He was rubbing the back of his neck and you found it cute that he waited for you.
"Oh not at all! Come on in and I can do your hair real quick," you motioned him inside as you unlocked the saloon. Eriks eyes gleamed as he followed you with excitement. You offered him a seat as you grabbed your brush and mirror. You combed through his lustrous hair piece by piece. As you brushed his hair, you noticed his ears were pink. You figured the heat was getting to him and would bring him a cold drink. Gently, you tied his hair into a ponytail like last night.
"And done! Let me know if it's too tight on you. I want to make sure the ponytail could hold all day while you're comfortable," you said as you handed him a mirror. You walked away briefly to grab some water as Eriks looked at himself in the mirror.
"No this is perfect! It feels great right now. My ponytail looked nothing like yours," he complimented you as you smiled at his answer.
"I'm glad you like it! Sometimes I tie my hair a little too tight since my shifts can get hectic," you explained. Then you handed him a glass of water.
"For me?" he asked as you nodded.
"Yeah, I noticed you were a bit red earlier. A little something to help cool you off," you replied as you put away your brush and mirror.
"Oh, I appreciate it Y/n. I owe you big time for today! I'll finish this before I take off," Eriks thanked you.
"Like I said, no big deal. Just know you're more than welcome to stop by the saloon anytime," you told him. Before he took a drink, you noticed his face was slightly red. Hopefully he can stay inside and avoid the brutal desert heat outside. Once he was done drinking, you took the empty glass as Eriks got up.
"Thanks again for today Y/n! I'll see you later!" Eriks waved as you waved back. Sure enough, he was true to his word.
~*~
For weeks, Eriks would wait for you by the Saloon each morning. He always asked that you do his hair. He insisted that you did a much better job compared to him and Lina. You found it hard to believe, especially since you showed Eriks how to tie his hair one day. Nonetheless, you could never say no to him. You loved his company and it was a great excuse to play with his beautiful hair. Any time you finished styling his hair, Eriks never failed to compliment your work. Hearing those compliments made your day.
Plus, he would pass by the saloon when he was doing errands. Some days he would wave at you while you were on the clock. Other times, you would catch glimpses of him talking to the locals. Whether it was the elderly or adults he always volunteered to help anyone out. When he was with children, he would entertain them to where they cheered with joy. It was these moments that you learned Eriks was a kind soul. He brought joy to those around him, and you enjoyed his company.
One night, Eriks visited you at the Saloon before closing time. Things were slow, so you were lounging next to him as he was eating. You were braiding your hair as you noticed you had a couple of stray hairs that bothered you. Once you were done, you noticed Eriks stopped eating and was staring at you. You gave him a questioning look as he lightly touched your braid.
"Can you do this to my hair too?" he asked. You were taken aback by his question. You looked at his hand holding a piece of your hair and then at him.
"Sure, can I ask why?" you asked.
"I think it's really pretty! Plus I want to match with you," he answered casually. That answer did a number on you. Your heart was pounding and a blush crept up to your cheeks. Eriks sure knew how to surprise you as you tried to compose yourself. Once you steadied your breathing, you nodded as you took out your brush and a smaller hair tie. The blonde's face was filled with pure joy as you motioned him to get closer. You grabbed small sections of his hair and started braiding away. Despite how much you were concentrating on braiding his hair, you could feel his eyes boring into yours. After a few minutes, you securely tied his braid with the hair tie on you. You handed him a mirror to see what he thought.
"Y/n, I don't know what to say," he started. Panic set in as he said those words. Did you mess up? You cursed at how shaky your hands were. Before you could say anything, he continued speaking.
"I love how this looks on me! Thank you so much Y/n! You're the best!" he cheered and pulled you into a hug. You never knew how built Eriks was until now. You could feel his biceps squeezing you as you felt his chest. Furthermore, you felt his stubble rub against your cheek. Eriks was warm to the touch as you slowly reciprocated the hug. As he let go of you, the warmth left you. Yet, the smile he gave you could give the sun a run for it's money. His smile was comforting and contagious as you smiled back at him. Afterwards, he offered to help clean up and walk you home.
~*~
Another week passed by where you practically saw Eriks every day. You always did his hair, wave at him from afar, eat at the salon, and walk you home. Not a day wen by where he wasn't on your mind. Even your boss and Lina commented about how much time you and Eriks spent together to where you both could pass as something more. You waved off their comments, as you didn't think he saw you that way. But a small part of you wished he thought the same of you.
One afternoon, you were running errands for your boss. The saloon was running low on a couple of items. On your way back, you stumbled upon a bounty hunter. You tried to avoid him, but the clanking from the beer and wine bottles gave you away.
"Hey what's a cutie like you doing out here?" the guy asked.
"Sorry, I'm running errands and I really need to head back," you answered trying to get past him.
"What's the rush? It wouldn't hurt to spend time with the toughest hunter in town," he insisted.
"I appreciate the offer, but if I don't hurry back my boss will yell at me," you explained trying to walk back.
"Hey, where do you think you're going sweetheart," he questioned. The man roughly grabbed your wrist. The man's grip was enough to send a sharp shooting pain. You could practically feel his nails digging into your skin as you tried to break free.
"Stop! You're hurting me!" you cried out.
"Maybe if you just followed what I said I wouldn't have hurt ya," he sneered as he squeezed your wrist.
"HEY LET HER GO!" someone yelled. As the man turned around, a rock hit his head. He briefly let you go, but you felt someone else pull you away.
"RUN AWAY! We'll hold him off for ya!" someone else called out. You looked to see it was Lina shouting as a few other kids were throwing rocks at the man.
"Come on! This way!" a familiar voice pleaded. You turned to the sound of the voice to see Eriks was pulling you along. You ran with him as he led you away from the bounty hunter. As you ran, you could hear yelling not too far away from you. Eventually, Eriks led you to a small building inside. He then pulled you inside a dark storage room that hardly had any space to move in. You felt Eriks pull you close as he held you protectively with one hand on your back and another on your shoulder.
"Don't make a sound until I say so," he whispered in your ear as you felt his breath tickle your neck. His stubble would rub on your cheek and close to your ear. Your face was right on his chest along with your hands. You tried to put distance, but failed miserably with the lack of space there was. Thankfully it was dark and he couldn't see how beet red your face was right now. You then heard heavy footsteps making their stride outside. Eriks held you closer as you stood frozen. Both of you strained your ears to hear what was happening outside.
"I know you ran through here somewhere!" a voice shouted. You heart raced as the footsteps grew closer. Suddenly, you heard something fall from a distance. The man yelled and then ran away as his footsteps sounded distant. One second became five seconds. Then ten seconds, until finally Eriks whispered to you.
"I think the coast is clear." He slowly opened the door and checked that no one was in the vicinity. He let out a deep breathe and led you out from the room. You could hear your heart pounding in your ears from the adrenaline and the situation you were just in. You were lost in your thoughts until Eriks put his hands on your shoulders.
"Are you okay Y/n? Did he hurt you?" he asked with worry. You looked at your wrist the bounty hunter grabbed you previously and saw how red it was. When Eriks followed your gaze, his eyes widened. He frantically looked for something to help your sore wrist. He found an ice pack and gently placed it on your wrist. The chilling feel helped reduced the pain as you let out a sigh of relief.
"I should have done something earlier. If I finished my job earlier, I could have prevented this," Eriks spoke. You could hear the regret in his voice as you furrowed your eyebrows.
"Eriks, you helped a whole lot! If you didn't intervene, he probably would have done something worse besides hurting my wrist. I can't thank you enough for helping me today and getting that bounty hunter away from me. Besides, I would rather take a sore wrist any day than getting taken by some guy like him." you emphasized as you tried to get him to look at you. You gave a reassuring smile as Eriks looked at your face with his blue eyes. You then felt his hand caress your cheek and brush his thumb slightly. He then pulled you to a hug as he held you delicately. Almost as if he was afraid you would break.
"Thanks, I'm just happy you're safe," he answered back as you smiled.
"If you really want to keep me safe, help me deal and explain this to my boss later. He's probably wondering why I'm taking too long," you added. That was enough to get Eriks to let out a hearty chuckle. You loved the sound of his laugh as he gave you a thumbs up.
"Leave it to me Y/n! You got nothing to fear when I talk to him. Whenever you're ready, I'll walk you back and make sure no one lays a finger on you," he grinned.
A/n: Hi! Thanks for reading this far! I hope you like it. I know I left this kinda out in the open, but if you want more spice I'd be happy to write a part 2 if there's enough demand :) I didn't want to write a whole lot past 3k words and make this a long read :')

NSFW below, 18+ only, minors do not interact!
Vash holds your hand through the rickety, quaint house, helping guide you as you walk, avoiding the floorboards he knows creak louder than the others. As much as Granny and Lina adore you, he didn't feel like explaining why he was sneaking you in so late at night. Not only that, he didn't want to explain your relationship to them just yet. After all, the two of you haven't even gotten the chance to properly talk yet, about what your reunion after his two year absence means for you both.
Vash finally guides you into his little bedroom, quietly shutting and locking the door behind you two. He cringes at the how the door hinges creak loudly into the hallway, hoping it wasn't enough to wake anyone.
"So 'Eriks', huh? Did you pick the name all by yourself?" You tease him as your eyes dart around the room, taking in the space your lover has been living in these passed two years. Or... he was your lover. Is he still your lover? For all you know he found someone else during his time here. No, wait, that can't be right. He just snuck you into his bedroom.
Vash chuckles quietly, his gaze never leaving you. "Yeah... guess I did."
You can feel his eyes burrowing into you. His gaze follows you as you curiously take in the room, as you pat the bed draped in old linens, as you look out the window, taking in the scenery, the stars and moons illuminating the sky above. You've always had a tendency to look up at the sky.
God, you're as beautiful as he remembers.
He's pulled out of his own thoughts when you speak again, realizing he's been staring at you the whole time.
"Nice little spot you have all to yourself. Sheryl and Lina are both so sweet. They really do love you, I can tell. They're like family now, hm?" You say as your eyes finally meet his, your voice remaining soft, yet a hint of somberness weaving its way in. "You... You have a good life here."
You feel your heart start to beat faster, your head filling with a million questions that you're almost too scared to know the answers to. What if there was no room for you in his life anymore? What if he wanted to leave everything about his old self in the past, including you? What if, what if, what if...
You start to absentmindedly pick at the skin around your nails and rubbing your palms, subconsciously trying to calm and ground yourself. You're starting to lose yourself to your own mind, horrible thoughts filling your head like a poison.
Vash immediately notices the change in your tone, the subtle, shaky uncertainty in your voice, the way you anxiously play with your hands... Old habits die hard, huh?
"I do. The people here have been very kind to me. It's mostly quiet, apart from when I get myself into trouble. I'm grateful every day for it."
He takes a step towards you, his arms outstretched slightly.
"But, my life here is... incomplete without you by my side, mayfly."
He wants to hold you, feel your body against his, remind himself that you're really here, but he hesitates. What if you despise him for abandoning you? For leaving you behind to think he was dead? Worse, what if you hate him for the sins he's committed? For destroying July and taking the lives of its people? Not that he could ever blame you if you did. He hates himself for it. It's the whole reason he left you behind in the first place. How could he ever face you again after he became the walking demon with the 60 billion double dollar bounty on his head? He deserves every bit of venom spat his way for the things he's done, every bit of the nickname 'The Humanoid Typhoon'.
Yet, despite how much he knows he doesn't deserve you, he wants you so bad. Every moment without you had been agony. He didn't know where you were, how you were doing, if you were even alive. Hell, he wondered if he killed you in July too. So when he finally saw your face again, he swears he felt his heart beat for the first time in two years.
"Mayfly, I... I don't deserve you. I don't. I'm a monster." He takes another step towards you, trying to bridge the gap between you both. "...but I can't live without you. I... I need you. Here. With me."
He's fighting back tears, trying desperately to keep himself together. His vision is blurring from the tears pooling in his eyes, and all he can see is your wide-eyed expression. You're so beautiful, even if you might be about to break his heart.
"If you don't feel the same, I understand. If you want to hit me and yell at me for all I've done, I won't put up a fight. If... If you hate me-" Vash's words are cut short when you rush towards him and plant your lips against his in a feverish kiss, throwing your arms around his shoulders and clinging to him desperately.
Vash stays motionless and rigid in a moment of shock before he's flooded with relief at the feeling of your lips, your body, just you. His prosthetic naturally encircles your waist, pulling you in closer as his flesh hand tenderly cups your cheek, tilting your head to meet his lips with a practiced touch that makes it feels like you were never apart.
You became a shell of a person the day you watched him fall from the sky, like an angel stripped of their wings. You spent the passed two years believing, convincing yourself he had to be alive, or else you would have been lost completely.
With his lips finally pressed to yours, you feel whole again.
Vash can feel your lower lip tremble against his own, your tears mingling with his against both your faces as you each pull the other closer, closer, until there's no space left between your bodies, his stubble scratching your chin.
Your lips meet again and again, each kiss more desperate than the last, pants and sobs and the sounds of lips smacking filling the otherwise dead silent room.
"I missed you." You breathe against his lips, voice cracking from the overwhelming feelings of relief, love, and pain flooding you.
And Vash whines in turn, prosthetic tightening its grip around you.
"I missed you too. So much. Every day I thought about you." He whispers back, his voice strained, flesh hand pulling your face closer by the back of your neck. "I love you, I love you, I missed you."
"Love you too. Missed you so much..." Your voice comes out as a sob, trembling and broken. Your hands tangle into his soft locks. His hair is much longer now, the golden blonde mixing with dark raven.
You feel his tongue tease your lower lip, the warm muscle begging for entry, and you're happy to grant it. When your tongues entangle, he feels himself shudder with want, his body heating up as he gets reacquainted with the taste of your mouth. His hands move down your body, sliding down your waist, past your hips, and hooking themselves beneath the plush of your thighs. He lifts you up with ease, encircling your legs around his waist.
It's not close enough. He needs you closer.
He carries you to the edge of his bed, gently lowering you and as he towers over you, broad shoulders caging you in beneath him. He pulls himself from your lips and holds his weight on his hands, palms against the mattress beside your head. His face is flushed, lips wet with your kiss.
Vash is silent as he looks at your face, tears still staining his cheeks, his gaze reverent and adoring, yet filled with tragedy, like he almost doesn't believe you're real. His flesh hand cups your face again. His thumb traces your lips, your cheekbone, your jawline, his palm resting against your cheek. He takes in your features, committing the way your face has changed over the past two years to memory. You have new lines around your eyes, signs of how time kept passing for you, even without him around, signs of aging that he knows you won't see on his face. Fuck, he's lost this precious time with you, years he'll never be able to get back. Gone, just like that.
He'll be damned if he loses anymore time with you.
His hand trails down, thumb sliding along the side of your neck, down to the bit of your collarbone peeking from under your shirt. His breath hitches at the feeling of your soft skin beneath his hands, how your legs stay wrapped around his hips, your arms clinging to his shoulders like a lifeline. He can feel your body heating up at his touch, like it remembers him. He's missed you. He's missed your touch. So much.
"Please, I- I need to see you. Please." He begs, voice already breathless and needy.
"N-Need to see you too. I need you so much." Your voice comes out as a pathetic whine, but at this point you don't care. He's here. You have him again. You need him.
Vash wraps his prosthetic around your waist as he gently lifts your upper body up enough to pull your shirt over your head, tossing it aside. With your shirt finally off, you can feel contrast of his arms on your body, the cool metal of one, and the warmth of the other.
"I missed you. I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry for leaving you, mayfly. I'm so-"
You stifle his apologies with another hot kiss, your hands weaseling between your bodies and working quickly to take off his white button-up. Your fingers fumble with the buttons until his shirt is open, exposing the scarred muscles beneath. His hands leave you for just long enough to push the fabric off his shoulders. When his shirt is finally off, both his hands move to the back of your neck, pulling you in for another heated kiss, making you both groan into each other's mouths.
Your hands trail along his chest and back, tracing over the myriad of rough, raised flesh. Your touch is gentle, as though you're trying to heal him. He wishes you could. He wishes your touch could take away his 150 years of anguish, only made worse in your absence, and heal this body he's so carelessly destroyed. Yet, he knows he deserves every bit of it for what he's done. If nothing else, at least your touch is a momentary reprieve from it all, a moment for him to just be.
His hips twitch when he feels your hands trail down his chest, over his abdomen, to the hem of his pants, fingers working to undo his belt and buttons, working them off his body.
"M-Mayfly..." Vash mutters, his breath hot against your face. He works the rest of your clothes, practiced hands swiftly unclasping your bra before moving to peel off your pants, tossing the garments somewhere in the room, leaving you both in just your underwear.
Vash gently pushes your shoulders, moving you slowly like you're made of glass and laying you flat against the bed. He sits back on his knees to get a good look at you, propping himself between your thighs, his half-lidded eyes practically glowing as he drinks you in.
You're suddenly filled with this overwhelming shyness as you're laid almost completely bare in front of him. It's been so long since you've been looked at like this, and you can feel the heated rising to your face. Your body has naturally changed since he's last seen you, and the thought that he'll be disappointed weasels its way into your head, flooding you with insecurity. Without thinking about it, your hands move up to cover yourself, draping your arms over your chest and stomach.
Vash's gaze break from your body before darting up, his eyes softening when he sees your blushing and flustered face.
"Oh, sweetheart..." he coos, bringing himself down to pepper your face with soft kisses, stubble grazing your face. "Come on now. Don't hide from me. Please? I want to look at you. I love looking at you." His large hands gently wrap around your wrists, trying to coax you to uncover yourself. "Please. Let me see you. I missed looking at you so much."
Oh, how silly you are to think he'd look at you with anything but pure adoration and worship. He's only ever shown you love and acceptance, just as you have shown him. Vash can't even fathom the idea that you'd see yourself as anything other than breathtakingly perfect. Your body is his place of worship, every sound you make a prayer.
So, with a quiet whine, you let him pull your arms from your body, his hands gently pinning your wrists next to your head flat against the mattress.
"There you are..." Vash whispers adoringly, pressing a chaste kiss to the tip of your nose before leaning back again to look down at you.
He takes in the sight of you beneath him for the first time in two years, his hands letting go of your wrists and tracing up and down your curves slowly, savoring the feeling of your warm and soft flesh. The world hasn't been kind to you in his absence, your body baring new scars he knows weren't there before, and he hopes to God you didn't get all those looking for him, sacrificing yourself for his unworthy soul.
"So beautiful, mayfly." Vash purrs. His hands trail up your middle, up your sternum, before parting to grope your breasts, thumbs rolling over the perked buds. The act sends a wave of heat straight down between your legs, your hips involuntarily writhing against the bed. In turn, your reaction makes Vash suck in a breath, his hips gently grinding against the plush of your thigh, letting you feel his hardened cock.
You both need this. Badly.
"Mmph- you like that, huh, baby? That feel good?" Vash whispers, voice hoarse with desire as he circles his thumbs over your nipples again, this time rolling his hips right against your clothed sex.
You howl at the pleasure, hips bucking to meet his own. You bite your lower lip to muffle your cries, nodding your head up at your lover. "M-Mhmm!"
With a lewd grunt, Vash brings his head down, pressing his lips to your inviting body. He sucks on your neck, nibbling and licking slowly and sensually, finding the spots he remembers would make your breath hitch, your back arch, and your grip tighten around him. He lets out a deep groan against your neck when you react the way you used to, your voice pitching up to a needy, wanton moan when he sucks on your neck just right. You tangle your fingers in his hair as shivers dance up your spine, rolling your hips up against his.
He leaves a trail of kisses along your form, giving special attention to any scars he comes across along the way, just as you had done for him countless times before. His lips reach your chest, kissing along your sternum before moving his mouth to one of your breasts, his skillful lips enveloping your perked nipple, tongue circling the peak. His hand moves up to massage your other breast, kneading the soft flesh in his palm.
And you can only do what your body tells you to, your voice quivering into what only comes so naturally to you when he's worshipping your body like this.
"Vash." His name leaves your lips as a broken moan, but they hit him like a typhoon, shattering him to pieces.
Vash's body tenses, all his actions pausing as his lips part from your nipple with a quiet smack, his hot, ragged breaths against the wet skin of your breast. He tilts his head up, bringing his face closer to yours, letting your noses brush and his forehead press intimately against yours. His beautiful baby blues drink you in, eyes upturned into a longing, pleading stare. His eyes captivate you, trapping you under his gaze. From this close, you feel like you could drown in them.
"Please... Say it again." His voice is raw, fragile, and begging.
You have to blink yourself out of your trance, completely ensnared by him. Even though he's the one begging you right now, with that look on his face, you'd do anything he asked. So, without hesitation, you say it again.
"Vash."
And he whimpers.
A name he hasn't heard in two years, lost to his new life. A name that, despite the heavy weight it carries now, was gifted to him by someone very important. A name that has always rolled of your tongue with a softness he never felt he deserved, that he used to hear you cry out over and over when your voice was pulled taut with pleasure. His name.
He didn't realize how much he missed hearing it, and especially how it sounds leaving your lovely lips.
"Again. Please."
"Vash."
"One more time. I beg you."
"Vash."
Vash groans again, his eyes fluttering before pressing his lips to yours again, catching your bottom lip between his teeth as he pulls away.
"Mmph... Fuck, mayfly. The things you do to me."
His lips capture yours in a hot, wet kiss, tongues tangling, his hips undulating against yours and seeking out that little bit of friction between your bodies. He can feel the heat coming off your core against his hard cock, and his mouth waters as he thinks about how wet you must be right now.
"Need to taste you, mayfly."
Vash pulls back before he stands up between your legs and pulls you by your hips to the edge of the bed, grinding himself against your thigh again. His fingers hook to the elastic of your panties, his eyes not missing the wet spot forming on them already before meeting your gaze again. "Let me take these off you, baby."
And fuck, you are absolutely reeling right now, barely able to form a thought as he continues to handle your body with so much care and deadly precision, like he know it better than you. And really, he does. Despite the time you two have spent apart, his confidence in his knowledge of your body and his desire to please you is naturally weaving its way back into his mind like it's pure instinct. You can't tear your eyes from him as he stares down at you with the darkened, hungry eyes of a man that looks like he's just found his first sip of water in days on No Man's Land.
He tilts his head as you stare at him silently, taking in your half-lidded, hazy eyes. His fingers unhook from your panties, palms resting against your thighs.
"Mayfly? Do you want me to? I won't do it unless you tell me to."
You whimper needily, shifting your hips back and forth, unintentionally teasing him as your body begs for more of him.
"Please. Please, Vash. I need you to touch me." You beg, your voice shaking. You need him right now, both body and mind begging him to do something, anything to ease the ache between your thighs.
With a smirk that flashes his sharp canines and sends another shivering wave of heat to your core, Vash swiftly pulls your panties down your legs, letting them drop to the floor.
With you completely exposed to him now, Vash hooks his hands under your thighs, pressing your legs up and opening you up to himself, spreading you out on the mattress before him and watching as your slick drips from your sex as he practically folds you in half.
"Breathtaking." He purrs, staring down at your sweet flesh. "And so wet already."
"It's... It's because of you." You say back, your voice a pathetic, high-pitched whimper, feeling yourself pulse with anticipation.
Vash chuckles breathily, his eyes never leaving your sopping cunt as he lowers himself to his knees, propping himself between your thighs.
"I know it is."
With a soft sigh, Vash presses his tongue against your cunt, taking his time as his licks his way from your dripping entrance all the way up to your clit, gathering your sweet juices on the flat of his tongue with an audible eagerness. His mouth presses a fiery kiss to your clit, his lips wrapping around your little sensitive bud as his tongue flicks it with a skillful precision that is downright deadly, like it's all muscle memory coming back to him in this moment, as though his place in this world is right here between your thighs.
For Vash, you truly are an oasis on this desolate planet. In a life that's been so lonely and so filled with tragedy, you have been a solace that he never felt he deserved, yet he selfishly let himself indulge in. After being by his lonesome for so long, how could he ever turn away from your open arms? You unconditionally loved and accepted his broken mind and tattered body, and he was never able to deny your affections, no matter how much he told himself he didn't deserve them.
You are the only piece of heaven he's ever had.
"Mmmh... Taste so good, angel." He coos against your sex, licking his lips of your slick before tonguing another stripe up your cunt. "It's been too long. I'm absolutely parched for you, baby."
"Oh fuck, Vash!" You gasp out, your hands moving to tangle through his two-toned hair, holding it back and away from his face. You can feel his stubble grazing your plush folds as he eats you.
"Say it again, mayfly." He mutters against your cunt, the vibrations from his voice sending shocks of pleasure coursing through you.
Your mind is a pleasure-filled haze. You're barely able to think as your lover positively devours you, gorging himself on your dripping sex like it's more for his own pleasure than it is for yours.
"Ahh... w-wha-?" You manage to mumble, barely understandable.
His head pops up from between your thighs, hungry baby blues staring back up at you.
"My name. Say my name again for me, angel. Please."
"V-Vash..."
He growls as he dives back down to your cunt, his tongue teasing your entrance as his nose presses against your clit.
"Say it softer. Please."
"Vash..."
"Say it louder."
"Vash!"
His hips rut against the mattress as he pleasures you, pathetically rubbing his still-clothed cock against the old linen in tandem with his mouth. He can feel his boxer-briefs soaking up the pre-cum from his engorged tip. His body is aching for you, but he'll be damned if he doesn't make you come on his tongue at least once before he fucks you. He needs to taste you as you come.
His right hand slowly trails up the soft meat of your thigh, fingers dancing along your hot skin until they reach your pulsing flesh, swirling his fingers over your wet heat. Then, he gently presses his middle finger inside you, the long digit curling and pressing against your warm walls, gently stretching you as he takes you apart from the inside out.
You have to throw your hand over your mouth to keep yourself from crying out in white hot pleasure, hips undulating against his mouth and hand, seeking out more of the pleasure he's giving you.
"This okay, mayfly? Feeling good?" Vash whispers before circling his tongue over your clit again.
You don't trust yourself to speak right now, instead nodding your head frantically as you moan and wail silently against your hand.
Vash groans hoarsly when he sees just how well he's taking you apart, eyes fluttering closed as he focuses entirely on your pleasure. When he feels your body relax around his finger, he slips in a second digit, his dexterous middle and ring fingers meticulously and lovingly abusing that sweet spot inside you until he has you seeing stars behind your eyelids.
Your hand gently tugs at his hair, biting into your palm and clenching your eyes tight, your thighs trembling against his head. You pull your hand away from your lips just long enough to call out to him, your voice breaking, your body ready burst, "Vash! M' gonna c-come..."
He growls against you when he hears his name leave your sweet lips in a such desperate tone, tongue lapping away at you more eagerly, your juices dripping from his hand.
"Yes, baby. Come. Come all over my tongue. Wanna taste you..." he grunts, panting as he fucks you with his tongue and fingers and grinds himself against the mattress. Fuck, he's gonna come all over himself if he doesn't reel it back.
His mouth devours you, digits pumping faster into your fluttering cunt as he chases your high.
When Vash feels your body tighten and convulse against his fingers, your sweet whimpers filling his ears, he moans louder than you, as if your pleasure is his pleasure, and it takes every bit of willpower in him to not come along with you.
Vash has always denied himself the pleasures in life, deeming himself unworthy for the sins he believes he's committed. But when it comes to you, to your pleasure, he's always eager to let himself indulge, his tongue lapping away at your sex like your come is a reward for his efforts until his mouth is dripping with you.
When he feels your body relax, your muscles unflexing, he licks one last strip over your cunt before pulling his mouth and fingers away. He licks your sweet cream from his digits, his other hand removing the boxers that have grown unbearably tight from his lower half. Slowly, almost like he's reluctant to leave his place from between your thighs, he raises himself up and towers over you again.
"You're so perfect, angel." He whispers, voice hoarse with desire, and you can see his need from the way his cock twitches as he stares down at you, his big hands holding you by the softness of your thighs. He brings his pelvis forward, gliding the hard length of himself along your dripping pussy, coating himself with a mix of your come and his own saliva.
"Vaaash~" You call to him weakly, your head still fogged from your intense orgasm, but your body craving him. Your hips rise to meet his own, and he grinds against you more desperately.
"You want this, angel? Wanna feel me inside you?" His tone is breathy and light, almost teasing, but you know more than well enough that what he's seeking right now above all else is your consent. How you got so lucky as to find yourself such a caring and thoughtful man (plant) is beyond you.
"Want it more than anything, angel." You purr back, using the loving nickname he's given you back at him as your hands reach for his shoulders. Because let's be honest, if anyone is deserving of the nickname, it's him.
A soft smile crosses his face when he sees you reach for him and, like a moth to a flame, he leans down towards your touch. One of your hands clasp over his shoulder, gripping him and pulling him closer to you. The other traces your thumb over his cheekbone, your finger dancing over that adorable birthmark under his left eye.
"Don’t go stealing my words now, mayfly." He teases back before his lips cover yours. When he pulls away, you feel him pant against your face, his body shaking and his cock gliding over you folds. Despite how much he's been holding back, putting your pleasure far before his own, you can feel now just how badly he wants this. He's at his limit.
Still, a pang of concern crosses over his handsome features, always thinking of you despite the agony he's in right now.
"If... If it hurts, I want you to tell me. Tell me and I'll sto-" You shush him before he can keep going, your thumb quickly moving from his cheekbone to his lips.
"You won't hurt me, Vash." You whisper tenderly, trying to ease the worries undoubtedly forming in that pretty head of his.
Hìs face softens again, his expression changing from one of concern to one that can be described as nothing short of reverent. His eyes might as well be hearts from the amount of love you see in them. With a shaky sigh, he nods his head once, and you move your hand from his face to his other shoulder, holding him tightly against you.
"Alright." He places doting little kisses to your temple and cheek, his hands on your thighs gently parting your legs further. "Let me take care of you, mayfly."
One of his arms weaves its way between your bodies, grasping his cock and aligning himself with your inviting entrance, placing a gentle pressure against your core with the tip of his cock. Vash's gaze never breaks from yours as he slowly sinks himself into your tight heat, the head of his cock splitting you open as he sheaths himself inside you, his mouth falling agape with a mewling whimper as he feels every inch of your sweet warmth.
Your breath hitches as he presses himself inside you slowly, your body taking him inch by sweet inch until he gently bottoms out, your nails digging slightly into his broad shoulders. You can feel him stretching you out on his thick cock, a mixture of the sweet sting and pleasure filling your entire body. You take in deep breaths to calm and relax yourself, your eyes fluttering up at your lover.
You're everything he's ever wanted, everything he's ever needed, everything his soul craves and begs for. He caresses your thigh and whispers between gasping breaths, a sweet smile on his face as your catch your breath, "You're okay, mayfly. Relax. Take your time. Tell me how you feel. I'm here with you, all the way." He coos, peppering your cheeks and neck with soft kisses as he whispers gentle words of praise and encouragement. His expression is one of pure love and adoration, seeing your body relax as you adjusts to his, your walls moulding to his cock, your breath slowly coming back to you.
"A-Ah... I need you to move, Vash. I think I'll explode if you don't move right now." You whine, hips bucking and writhing against his own, begging him to fuck you already.
His adoring smile never falters, chuckling breathily as you beg for him.
Fuck, he's missed feeling needed.
"Well, we wouldn't want that now, would we?" He teases with a shit-eating grin that splits his perfect face. He places a tender kiss between your brows before gazing back down at you.
"Hold on tight now," he purrs against the shell of your ear, tightening his grip on your thigh, his prosthetic palm pressing against the mattress by your head. He's trying so hard to keep himself together, but you can feel his arm shaking from the sheer euphoria as he supports his weight.
Gently, he pistons his hips against yours, his cock gliding along your inner walls at a sweet and tender pace and giving you the chance to adjust to the feeling of him stretching you out. As fogged as his mind is right now in a haze of lust and need, he is still acutely aware of you, and it would break him more than anything if he hurt you.
Vash stares down at where you two connect so intimately, watching how your body engulfs his cock over and over and coats his shaft with your arousal.
"You feel so good, mayfly. Taking me so well, like your body remembers me," Vash praises you sweetly, his face falling to the crook of your neck.
"V-Vash..." you mewl, thighs gripping his waist tighter, cushioning his hips as he pumps you full of himself. "Feels so good. M-More, please. I need you more."
"Of course. I'll give you more," he whispers, his voice dripping with tender affection as his hands move to your thighs, lifting them up and hooking your legs over his shoulders, folding you in half again. You moan wantonly at how deeply he can reach in this position, the head of his cock kissing your cervix.
Vash increases the pace, his thrusts gradually growing more deliberate and quick, pumping into you so deliciously that he wrings out every sweet sound you can make from your throat. He rocks his hips, his muscles tightening and relaxing as he pushes himself all the way in and pulls back out again, letting himself feel every inch of your velvety walls. Every pump of his hips has him pulling himself out to the hilt, leaving just his hot tip inside, giving you no time to breathe before he pushes himself back inside again, fucking you deeper and harder than before. Every time he pulls out, he sees your lips part slightly as you wait for him to ram back inside. And he does, over and over, making both of you moan louder as the room fills with the sounds of skin slapping.
"I love you, I love you! P-Please, please don't leave me behind again. Stay. I need you!" You cry out in rapture, tightening your grip around him and pulling him so his patchwork chest is against yours, your breasts squeezing and bouncing against his pecs.
"I'm here, mayfly. I'm right here. I'm not going anywhere. I can't- I'd die without you. I love you too much." He grunts against the side of your face, the sound of his labored breaths filling your ears.
He thrusts into you faster and harder now, the withered bed creaking and groaning beneath you both along with the sounds of your pleasured cries.
"Mmm~ Vash... Feels too good. Gonna come. Gonna make me come."
Your words break the last bit of restraint in his lovedrunk mind, grunting loudly against your ear.
"Fuck, say it again. Say it- Say it like you missed me. Like you thought of me every day. The way I thought about you."
"Vash!"
You can feel your body quivering and pulsing around him, and it only makes Vash moan louder, your pussy practically sucking him back in every time he pulls away. He moves a hand from your thigh to thumb at your swollen clit, desperate to feel you come undone around him.
"That's it. That's it! Mmm fuck~ I can feel it. Say it as you come all over me, baby. Please. Please."
Your orgasm hits you like a sandsteamer, your back arching harshly off the bed before you even have the chance to cover your mouth, crying out his name with a melodic and broken moan.
"Va- Vash!"
He's quivering, his grunts and breaths shaky as he feels your pussy clench around his aching cock like your body is trying to milk him for all he's worth.
"Ahh- S' too good... M' gonna c-come, mayfly. Gonna come with you."
Vash bites his bottom lip, trying to stifle the sounds of pure agonizing rapture, only for your name to leave his lips like a beautiful song to the heavens as he spills himself deep inside your heat. His hips stutter as he fills you with his hot come until you feel like you're bursting, hips slowing and gently rocking into you as you both ride out your highs until they gradually come to a stop. He feels his muscles go limp, pressing his weight down on you more than he means to as he collapses against your smaller frame. He covers your temple and cheeks with weak, tired kisses, whispering sweet words of affection until you've both gathered your minds a bit more.
"I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you." He chants over and over again with every breath like a prayer, eyes closed, relishing the feeling of euphoria filling his body.
He stays inside you well after you've both come down for your climaxes, cockwarming you on his thick shaft like he can't bare the thought of ever being separated from you again. But when he feels his cock softening, he carefully pulls out of you with an almost pained groan, disappointed at the loss of your warmth but his body completely satisfied and drained regardless. When he sits back on his knees and sees his seed spilling from your dripping hole, he groans, cursing under his breath. The sight is enough to get him hard all over again.
_________________________
After a night full of round after round of hot and passionate lovemaking, your exhausted bodies lay beside each other. The sheets are wet and tangled, your bodies slick with a mix of your arousals, but you're both far too content and tired to care about the mess right now, enveloped in each other's embrace.
"Mmh... bed's comfy. I see why you like it here," You coo against his head, his hair tickling your nose.
"Having a bed to sleep in has definitely been nice. Beats sleeping out in the desert," He mumbles and pulls you in closer to himself, nuzzling his face into the crook of your neck, his stubble scratching at your skin.
"But this bed might as well be a bed of sand if I can't sleep in it with you, mayfly."
"Always such a smooth talker," you chuckle at him. Then, your smile turns to a look of reluctance as you gently raise your head. "But I should probably go, huh? Don't wanna explain to Granny and Lina what I was doing here in the morning."
"Well, you were doing me." Vash snickers back at you, eyebrows wiggling teasingly.
"You're hilarious," you scoff with a deadpan stare, but you can't help the little amused smirk forming on your lips, "I'm glad to see your sense of humor hasn't gone anywhere."
He chuckles against the hollow of your throat, his lips ghosting over your skin.
"I know, I know. It's just one of my many charms."
"You won't need to say anything to them. I'll do all the explaining for you." His grip tightens around your waist, any thoughts of leaving the bed vanishing from your mind. How could you leave after everything that's happened? After you've both finally found your ways back to each other?
"Besides, they might already know you're here. We weren't exactly... uh, quiet." He chuckles nervously, and you can feel his face heating up as he thinks about just how much noise the two of you were making. You feel your own face heat up too. Yeah, the morning's gonna be a bit awkward.
Vash grips you tighter, his warm body flush against yours, clinging to you.
"Stay, mayfly. I need you."
Your body settles back into the bed, cuddling yourself up against the man you love most, and the world feels a little brighter.
"I'm right here. I'm not going anywhere."

Hi, I wanted to ask how you think Vash from Trigun Stampede 2023 and Vash from 1998 would react if the person they like gave them a big kiss? I’m curious :3
Okay Here it is :3
How would Vash from 1998 and 2023 react to receiving a kiss from someone they like?
Vash from Trigun Stampede 2023 and Vash from 1998 have slightly different personalities, but both are known for being very kind and a bit clumsy when it comes to romance.
Vash from 1998: This Vash is more playful and has a very comedic side. If the person he likes gave him a big kiss, he would probably be extremely surprised and embarrassed. He might even trip or fall, with a shocked look on his face, followed by a goofy smile. He would try to hide his embarrassment with a joke or a funny comment, but deep down, he would be very happy and maybe even a little emotional.
Vash from Trigun Stampede 2023: This Vash is a bit more serious and melancholic due to the darker tone of the series. If he received a big kiss from the person he likes, he would probably be equally surprised, but his reaction would be more restrained. He might blush and even stutter a bit, not knowing exactly how to react. However, his eyes would shine with happiness, and he might give a shy smile. He would cherish this moment, keeping it as a precious memory in his heart.
Both Vashes have a huge heart, and despite their differences, they would both be deeply touched by such a direct gesture of affection. :)

Elysium (Dad!Vash fic) - Chapter 1
A/N: Hi everybody! So, I felt kinda beat up after Tumblr wiped my requests, but then I randomly got inspiration to write a Dad!Vash fic. This is going to have multiple chapters (no idea how many yet), but I'll be writing it as I can. I've cross-posted it to AO3 here.
Story Summary: Vash the Stampede remains in hiding after the disaster of Julai city. In the year since the disaster, you and Vash have had children and are living a quiet life in town, until one day, the arrival of bandits threatens to rip away the life you and Vash have built together. What will Vash give to protect his family?
Warnings: Reader is AFAB in this work, referred to using she/her pronouns and "Mama" by the kids, explicit mentions of pregnancy, childbirth, and violence
Chapter Wordcount: 5.8k
Chapter 1: On The Horizon
"Mama? Mama, wake up."
A little voice called from the side of your bed, and you groggily registered the feeling of little hands tugging on yours as your eyes fluttered open.
All you could see were two pairs of identical blue eyes, both wide open as they gazed at you curiously and somewhat impatiently. As soon as you awoke, two sets of identical grins broke out on your children's' faces.
"Mmm? What is it, my loves?" You asked groggily, sitting up in bed with a big yawn as you rubbed your sleepiness from your eyes. It couldn't have been later than 6 or 7 in the morning, but your twin children had always been early risers, much like their father.
"We brought you something!"
You watched as the boy, Nicholas, and his sister, Rem, came into your room with a tray they were holding. On it was a plate of food, as well as a cup of water and some beautiful flowers.
"Oh? Did you two make me breakfast in bed?" You asked, your heart warming at the sight of your babies doing this for you, "Thank you, my loves! I love it."
You took the tray from your children and placed it beside you on the bed before leaning over and enveloping both children into your arms, hugging them close and kissing their heads, causing them both to giggle happily as they hugged you back.
"Love you, mama!" Nicholas chimed happily, with Rem nodding her head in agreement and echoing her brother's sentiment, "Yes, mama, we love you!"
You chuckled happily as you hugged your children close, feeling their small bodies against your own. As you glanced up at the doorway, you felt your heart flutter at the sight of your husband smiling at you and your children.
Vash couldn't help but feel his heart swelling in his chest as he watched his children, your children, hugging you and giggling happily as you held them close in your and his shared bed, his smile only growing as he watched the scene before him.
In the past, Vash never would've dared to let himself hope that he'd ever experience happiness like this. He never would've let himself dream that he would have a family, have children and a spouse that he loved more than anything in his life. And yet, against all his expectations, against all his beliefs, happiness fell into his lap the day the two of you realized you were expecting.
You had found Vash shortly after the disaster at Julai city, when the entire city was turned into a crater in the ground and 90% of the population had been wiped out when Vash fell from the sky. Vash had been a broken man, unable to even speak from the grief and the shock of what had happened when you found him. His memories surrounding the incident were muddy at best, but eventually, they returned to him and Vash slowly began to work through what had happened.
During that time, a kind woman by the name of Sheryl and her only living grandchild, Lina, had taken you both in and gave you refuge as you and Vash recovered from the Julai incident, with Vash taking on the name "Eriks" as you both hid from the world. Many nights were spent with you comforting Vash as he wept from nightmares that plagued him constantly, or Vash holding you close and protecting you as memories tried to pull you into their dark depths.
Those nights together brought you and Vash closer together than ever before - the two of you had always been fast and good friends, but this... being each other's anchor when one was caught in a storm of grief and sadness and anger... it brought you two together in a way neither of you had anticipated.
You two had both chosen to silently let whatever bond the two of you had develop and become whatever it was going to become. However, after one particularly bad nightmare where Vash had dreamt of losing you and woken up crying, only to find you looking at him worriedly and with such warmth and tenderness behind your eyes, Vash couldn't help but blurt out those three words.
"I love you."
Vash had fully been crying as he said those words to you breathlessly, as if desperate to get them out into the real world, desperate for you to understand how much you meant to him. He had clutched you desperately to him, his face buried in your hair as he took in your comforting, familiar scent between sobs, mumbling over and over again.
"I love you. I love you, (Y/N), I love you. You're everything to me. P-Please... don't go."
Your heart had broken for him that night, before being set alight when you realized what Vash had said to you. He loved you. You wanted to scream with joy, but instead, all you could do was pull the man you loved so much closer to you, burying your face into him as you held him tighter than ever before as he cried against you.
"I love you, too, Vash. So, so much."
After that night, you and Vash were inseparable, and it was clear to anybody who saw you and Vash together that the two of you were in love and nobody would ever come between you. Grandma Sheryl and Lina had been kind in helping you both find a home to call your own in the town. A beaten-up, neglected old house on the outskirts of the town that desperately needed some love and care eventually became your new home, a home where neither you nor Vash needed to hide.
One day, out of the blue, you had suddenly realized your body was changing. When Vash had placed his hands on you, your belly had begun to glow with faint plant runes, much like the markings on Vash's body whenever he tapped into his Plant abilities and powers. As you looked at him curiously, you watched Vash's eyes widen and his jaw drop open.
"(Y/N)... you're pregnant."
"Woah, woah, woah, what do you mean "pregnant"?" You replied immediately, frowning at him. "That's not possible... is it?"
Vash looked down at you and replied softly, his eyes trained on your stomach, "It's possible. Just... extremely rare."
Your mind had began to spiral as your hand pressed to your belly protectively, as if to shield the life that was growing within it from the world.
"I'm pregnant," You repeated, clearly stunned, your hand beginning to mindlessly rubbing circles over your belly, tracing the plant markings that announced your pregnancy.
You and Vash had to sit down and discuss how everything was going to change now that you were pregnant, and at the end of that conversation, Vash had taken your hand in his and stood up before guiding you towards town.
"Vash? Where are we going?" You had inquired, gazing at him as he continued walking ahead of you, almost as if in a hurry.
He didn't answer you, instead just borderline dragging you through town until he stopped suddenly before an unassuming building. You had raised an eyebrow at him, clearly asking for an explanation.
"Marry me."
You blinked.
"What?"
Vash had grinned at you, his smile warmer than anything you'd ever seen from him before.
"Marry me, (Y/N). You're pregnant with my child, and I want you to be assured that no matter what happens, I'll always be there to love you and our child and protect you both for as long as I live."
You continued to stare at him as if he had grown a second head, failing to take in exactly what Vash had asked of you. Once it sunk in, your eyes widened and you had begun to splutter.
"B-But, Vash, what if you have to go on the run again? I can't be the reason you're held back! That's not fair to you."
Vash had stepped forward and pulled you to him, his large hand splaying over your abdomen protectively yet incredibly tenderly. His voice was low and gentle.
"(Y/N)... I don't care. You and this child are my family, now. And I swear to always protect my family. I love you both so much, and I refuse to let any harm come to either of you. I'll be damned if I leave you and my child unprotected. The best way for me to ensure your safety is by staying by your side. Forever."
You felt yourself moved to tears as you looked at Vash, who was simply smiling down at you with such love that it made your heart flutter in your chest. You pulled him down by the back of his neck and kissed him with everything in you, trying to show him just how much you loved him through your actions.
"Okay," You whispered softly once the two of you had broken apart, "I'll marry you."
Without another word and grinning like he had just won the greatest prize on the planet, Vash took your hand in his much larger one and guided you into the building, where the two of you signed a marriage license and exchanged vows and rings to symbolize your commitment to each other.
After that day, you and Vash prepared for the arrival of your child. You had managed to create a nursery, crib and all, and awaited nervously for the day your child would arrive.
Your pregnancy advanced more rapidly than that of a regular human, given your baby was half-human, half-plant, and you found yourself struggling to carry the baby as your pregnancy progressed. Your body had to adjust more rapidly than anticipated, and Vash was terrified for your safety as time went on. He refused to let you do anything that potentially risked your safety or the baby's, constantly stepping in and taking over whatever task you were trying to accomplish.
"(Y/N), be careful," Vash would admonish you gently, "Don't want anything to happen to you or the little one."
It got to the point where Vash would've wrapped you in bubble wrap if he could've, and it drove you gently insane.
"I swear, Vash, if you don't let me do this, I'm going to scream."
Eventually, your waters broke about 4 1/2 months into your pregnancy and you had rushed to the medical clinic in the town. With several hours of screaming various profanities, pushing, and nearly breaking every bone in Vash's hand, you had managed to bring your baby boy into the world.
"Nicholas," You had uttered the moment you saw your little boy, panting heavily as the nurses took him away to get him cleaned up and swaddled.
"Nicholas?" Vash asked gently, clearly fighting off tears as he gazed at the little blue bundle in the nurse's arms. "After Wolfwood?"
"Yeah..." You replied, gazing at Vash with a warm smile as he held your son, "I think it fits."
"I-It does," Vash choked out, tears beginning to pour down his face as he held little Nicholas close and nuzzled the little baby's cheek with the tip of his finger, "Our little boy. Our Nicholas."
Vash looked over at you as he began to weep completely, "Oh, (Y/N)... thank you. Thank you for giving me him. Thank you for giving me my family. I love you so much. You two are everything to me."
You had smiled and opened your mouth to reply when another crippling contraction ripped through you, tearing a scream from you. Vash jumped and immediately came over, reaching out to you, fear evident on his face.
"Mayfly?! What's wrong?!"
You couldn't even answer him, groaning and crying out in pain as contraction after contraction wracked your body, your hands gripping the sheets for dear life. The doctor and nurses came sprinting in, and after a minute or two of careful assessment, the doctor promptly announced.
"There is another baby, it's coming now."
"Another?!" You shrieked, looking at the doctor and then at Vash, who looked positively stunned, his mouth open and his eyes owlishly wide.
"Yes," The doctor confirmed, "It seems you were carrying twins. The second baby is coming now."
Thankfully, this baby came quicker than its older sibling, and within a couple pushes, another little wailing sound filled the air as your daughter announced her arrival into the world.
You were completely exhausted, unable to even keep your eyes open as the nurses brought your daughter back, cleaned and swaddled to rest on your chest. As your energy slowly returned, you managed to open your eyes and look at your daughter for the first time.
Both she and Nicholas had wisps of Vash's blonde hair, and the same big blue eyes he had. They even had matching birthmarks under their right eyes, complimenting the one Vash had beneath his left eye. Near carbon copies of their father.
"(Y/N)..."
You glanced over at Vash and you could see him sobbing almost hysterically from joy as he leaned down and kissed your forehead.
"Mayfly... oh, Mayfly... they're perfect. They're perfect. Thank you. Thank you, thank you, thank you..."
Vash sat by your side and held you and your children close. The little girl yawned on your chest before dozing off promptly, much like her twin brother was sleeping happily in Vash's arms.
"What should we name you, little one?" You whispered gently, caressing your daughter's soft cheek with your fingertip.
You and Vash sat there quietly, just gazing down at your newborn babies, reveling in how things had forever been changed when Vash suddenly whispered.
"What about "Rem"?"
""Rem"? Like your adoptive mother?" You asked softly as you gazed at your daughter.
Vash nodded, wiping away his tears gently, "Yeah... is that okay?"
"I think it's perfect," You answered softly, reaching out to hold your husband's hand gently, squeezing it as you spoke.
"Nicholas and Rem," Vash repeated back, gazing down at the little bundled blankets in his and your arms.
He gave a watery smile as he looked back up at you, tears silently streaking down his face.
"My family, (Y/N). Our family."
Vash let out a shaky laugh before continuing, "I never thought I could ever be this happy. I feel like I swallowed a box of fireworks. I love you, (Y/N). I love you more than anything, and I... I love them. Little Nicholas... little Rem... I love them. Do they know just how much happiness they bring with them? Do they know I'd do anything to protect them?"
You couldn't help but laugh a little, your own tears going down your cheeks as you kissed Vash's cheek.
"I'm sure they'll know as they get older. I love you, Vash. I love our family, and I'll do anything to protect you, to protect them, too."
Vash slowly scooted into your hospital bed, sitting next to you and holding you close as he continued to hold Nicholas and as you continued to hold Rem. This was your family, now.
Rem and Nicholas proceeded to grow up pretty quickly due to their being half-human, half-plant, and within a year, they were already the equivalent of a human 4 year-old, able to walk and talk and tell stories and do things, like making you breakfast in bed with some help from their father.
"Thank you, my love, for making sure they didn't burn down the kitchen."
Your voice snapped Vash from his revelry as he stood in the doorway, and he looked up to see you smiling lovingly at him from your shared bed, your breakfast tray next to you and your children still hugging you tightly.
"Oh, my pleasure, Mayfly," Vash chuckled as he walked in and hugged you and the children, all of you giggling and laughing together. A moment of complete and utter happiness.
"Now, what should we do today?" You asked playfully, pressing a kiss to the top of both Rem and Nicholas's heads, before glancing up at Vash with a warm smile.
"How abouuuut...." Vash drawled playfully, before snagging Rem and Nicholas under their arms and pulling them into him as they squealed and laughed happily, "We all go see Grandma Sheryl and big sister Lina?"
"Yes!" Nicholas cried happily, clapping his little hands together, "Grandma Sheryl! Big sis Lina!"
"I wanna go!" Rem cried out, echoing her brother's sentiment as she tugged on Vash's shirt, looking up at him with the same big blue eyes he possessed.
You couldn't help but laugh at the sight of your family, and you exclaimed, "Alright, then! We'll do a field trip to Grandma Sheryl's and big sis Lina's! Papa's gonna go call Grandma Sheryl to let her know we're coming, but why don't you two come tell me what you made me for breakfast?"
Nicholas and Rem beelined right back to you, quickly crawling onto the bed and pointing at the different things they had made you for breakfast as Vash headed downstairs to call Grandma Sheryl.
"I made the eggs!" Rem said, a proud smile on her face.
"I made the pancakes!" Nicholas chimed in, crossing his arms over his chest.
"No, Papa made the pancakes!"
"No, I did!"
"No, you didn't!"
You couldn't help but laugh and pull the twins into you, hugging them close to stop their bickering, "Now, now, fighting won't get either of you anywhere. You both worked very hard to make me breakfast, so thank you, my loves. I love you both very, very much."
"Love you too, mama," Nicholas replied, burying his face into your tummy, as Rem snuggled into your side with a mumble of "Love you, mama."
You sat there as you slowly ate your breakfast, chuckling as the twins took pieces of food themselves from your breakfast tray ("Just to try, mama!" Rem assured you as she put a piece of pancake in her mouth).
Once you were done, you sent the kids to get dressed and ready to go see Grandma Sheryl while you took the time to shower and get ready for the day yourself. As you came out of the bathroom, you were greeted by the sight of Vash sitting on your shared bed, a frown on his face. He seemed lost in thought.
"You alright, Vash?" You asked softly, coming over to stand in front of him.
Vash quickly snapped out of his thoughts as he glanced up up at you, a small smile appearing on his lips as his hands came up to grab your hips before tugging you closer to him.
"Nothing, Mayfly. Just..." Vash trailed off, clearly trying to find a way to explain whatever was bothering him.
"It's okay, Vash," You encouraged him, cupping his face in your hands and making him look at you, "What's wrong?"
Vash sighed heavily before saying softly, "Grandma Sheryl says bandits have been wreaking havoc in town over the past couple days. Sounds like they've been behind all kind of trouble. I don't think we should still go see her. I don't want to risk your safety, or Rem's or Nicholas's. I don't want anything happening to you."
You frowned as you heard this, and you thought to yourself for a few moments before speaking up, "Well... why don't you and I go into town first and see how bad it is? If it's truly dangerous, we come straight back and spend the day home, instead. If it's okay, then we can bring the kids along and go see Sheryl."
Vash just gazed at you, carefully taking in your words and your expression before exhaling softly, "That might be the safest approach. Although, I don't think you should come either."
"Why not?" You asked, looking at Vash with a frown on your face.
"Because I don't want you in any danger, (Y/N)," Vash answered simply, pulling you into his lap and hugging you close to him, nuzzling his face into the crook of your neck, "And I don't want to leave the children home alone if bandits are in the area."
You sighed as you felt Vash press a soft kiss to your neck, and you knew he was right - if bandits were nearby, causing havoc in town, it was best not to leave Rem and Nicholas alone, unprotected.
"Alright..." You conceded, looking down at your husband, "I'll stay here with the kids. But, you need to be careful, Eriks. Promise me you'll come right back here."
You shot him a look as you used his fake name. He was never "Vash the Stampede" anywhere except within the four walls of your home; instead, he was "Eriks Saverem".
You had originally thought him using his adoptive mother's last name wasn't the best idea, but Vash argued that he needed a last name and Rem's last name was as good as any, given she was his mother in every way that mattered.
"Besides, who else would recognize that last name?" Vash had asked, a small smile on his face as he remembered his adoptive mother.
"Your brother, all the individuals who work for your brother, Brad and Luida..." You had listed off, counting them off on your fingers, which caused Vash to whine.
"(Y/NNNNNN)..."
"Alright, alright," You had conceded in the end, sighing with a roll of your eyes, "But don't come crying to me if you have to go on the run again."
In the present, you pressed a soft kiss to Vash's lips before you stood from his lap, patting his back gently.
"Be safe out there, my love," You whispered gently, "Come home to us. Come home to me."
"Always, Mayfly," Vash replied with a warm smile, "I will always come home to you. I swear it on my life."
"Good," You retorted, "I'll be keeping you to your promise."
"I'd expect no less."
Vash grinned at you, before taking your hand in his and pressing a kiss to your wedding ring - a way of sealing his promise to you.
"I love you, Stampede," You whispered to him, reaching out and brushing a strand of his now-long blonde hair out of his face, tucking it behind his ear tenderly.
"And I love you, (Y/N)," Vash replied softly, catching your other hand in his and kissing your palm tenderly in return.
"Alright, off with you," You chuckled, stepping away from your husband and turning to head downstairs, "That way you can be back sooner."
All you could hear was Vash chuckling as you went downstairs, finding Rem and Nicholas playing in the living room of your small home. When you appeared, both of them looked up at you and smiled.
"What is it, Mama?" Rem asked suddenly, cocking her small head to the side as she studied you intently, almost exactly the way her father did.
You quickly forced a smile as you came over to where your children were sitting, joining them on the carpet.
"Well," You began softly, "Apparently, it's a bit hard for us to go see Grandma Sheryl and big sis Lina right now. Papa's gonna go take a look and see if we can still go."
Nicholas and Rem exchanged looks, and Nicholas now piped up, "Hard, mama?"
"Yes, my love," You answered, continuing to explain, "There are some bad guys in town, and neither Papa nor I want anything to happen to you two."
"Bad guys?" Rem asked, her eyes filling with a bit of fear. "Are they gonna hurt us?"
"No, my love," You replied immediately, "Papa and I will protect you two, we won't let anything or anybody hurt you. I promise."
Rem quickly scrambled over and hugged you tightly, and you could feel your daughter trembling in your embrace. You quickly held her close, stroking her hair gently.
"Mama's got you," You whispered to her gently, "And Papa's got you, too. Always."
Nicholas slowly came over and joined the hug, and you held both of them close. Suddenly, you felt an additional set of warm, muscular arms wrap around you and the twin, and you heard Vash's voice speaking gently.
"Mama and Papa will always protect you two. Always, my loves."
Rem and Nicholas shifted slightly so that they could hug both you and Vash at the same time, and you all held your group hug for a few moments before Vash finally pulled away.
"Alright, Papa's gotta go on a little adventure," Vash said gently, patting the children's heads, "I'll be back soon. Promise me you'll protect each other and Mama if anything happens."
"We will!" Nicholas exclaimed immediately, standing up straight, "I'll protect Mama and Rem!"
"No, I'll protect Mama and Nicholas!" Rem retorted, nudging her brother.
Before the twins could get into another small spat, Vash laughed heartily and pulled them into another hug.
"That's my girl and boy! I'm relying on you both, okay? See you both soon. I love you two."
"Love you, Papa!" Rem and Nicholas chimed in unison, and you mouthed to Vash as he glanced at you, "I love you".
With a final kiss to the top of the twins' heads, and a gentle kiss to your lips (met by loud "EWWWW"s from the twins), Vash stepped out of the house and headed into town.
Grandma Sheryl's warning had proven to be true - as Vash walked through the town, he noticed multiple buildings that now had holes in the wall, windows that were shattered, and that the inside of these buildings were filled with debris and torn to shreds. Vash could see smoke coming from some other part of town, and a feeling of dread began to take root in his chest.
'Oh, Gods... should I tell (Y/N) to get the children ready to move? Should we run? Should we go somewhere else, to a different town?' Vash's thoughts began to go wild as he carefully treaded through town, keeping an eye out for any sign of trouble. 'What if (Y/N) gets hurt? What if one of the children get hurt? What if-?... No, Vash, no, don't go there.'
Vash was snapped out of his internal panic by a cry from not too far away, and as he looked up, Vash saw a couple bandits surrounding an older gentleman who was laying on the ground, curled up in the fetal position as he tried to protect himself from the blows of the bandits. Vash recognized the older gentleman as the town doctor, the same doctor who had helped you deliver Nicholas and Rem about a year ago, a kind man who many looked to as the town grandfather.
"Hey!" Vash immediately shouted, his body moving before he could make sense of the situation, "Leave him alone!"
Vash managed to intervene, getting the bandits away from the doctor and helping him to his feet. The poor doctor was bleeding from his face where he had no doubt been kicked or punched, and one of his eyes were turning black.
"If ya know what's good for ya, get outta here!" One of the bandits, likely the leader of this particular squad, sneered at Vash. The other bandits circled around their leader, no doubt waiting for a sign to go after Vash and the doctor.
"Sorry, but no," Vash replied coolly, gazing at the bandits and trying to ascertain how much of a threat they posed. "What reason could you possibly have to attack the town doctor?"
"Because he said something I didn't like," the bandit leader retorted snidely. The bandit leader squared himself and approached Vash, getting much too close to him for Vash's comfort.
"I'll say it one last time - if ya know what's good for ya, leave. Now. Or we won't hold back on ya."
The bandit leader's eyes blazed as he said this, poking Vash hard in the chest in an attempt to intimidate him into backing off. However, Vash just shook his head once more.
"Sorry, guys, but violence doesn't fly with me. I'd suggest you get out of here before things go badly for you," Vash replied, even going so far as to smile at the bandit leader.
This, however, incensed the bandit leader, and he immediately swung at Vash, who easily dodged his attack and moved fast enough to flip the bandit leader onto his back and slam him into the ground.
"Aww, come on, guys!" Vash exclaimed, "There's no need for fighting! Just leave the doctor alone, simple as that!"
The other bandits came at Vash, but not one of them managed to get close to him as Vash swiftly dodged and evaded their attacks and used their attacks against each other. Within moments, most of the bandits lay on the ground, moaning softly and stirring a bit as they tried to regain their bearings.
"Mr. Saverem, thank you so much!" The doctor cried, shaking Vash's hand enthusiastically, "Your assistance was greatly appreciated!"
Vash went to answer the doctor, but he noticed how the bandit leader was now gazing at him, a look of pure and utter hatred on his face. Vash felt his heart fall to his feet - this wasn't over yet.
"S-Saverem, eh?" The bandit leader wheezed out, slowly getting to his feet and shooting Vash a wicked grin, "Good to have a name for the man whose ass I have to kick."
Vash sighed tiredly, "Look, buddy, I'm not in the mood to fight you again. Can you please leave so I can get on with my life, as can the rest of the town? I'm pretty sure you guys got everything of worth from here, anyways."
"We'll see about that," the bandit leader replied coolly, grinning once more at Vash and the doctor before holding something up in his hand. Vash felt his heart twist violently in his chest as he realized what it was - a picture. The picture Vash always carried on him in his pocket.
Of you, Rem and Nicholas.
Where did he get that?!
"My, my, she's a beauty," The bandit leader mused, his eyes filled with fire as he traced your smiling face in the photo. Vash had never felt such a strong urge to burn a picture before as the bandit leader traced over your face and then the faces of the twins, "And look at them. They look just like you, Mr. Saverem. You're a lucky man."
Vash suppressed a shiver as the bandit leader said his name with emphasis, and the smirk that grew on the bandit's face made Vash want to sprint home and hide you and the twins away from the world, somewhere where nobody could ever hurt any of you.
"Although..." The bandit leader continued, still smirking at Vash as he spoke, "I wonder at what point your luck will run out."
Vash had to bite his tongue, instead desperately fighting to remain calm and seem unbothered by the bandit leader's faintly veiled threats towards himself, towards you and the children.
So, instead, Vash merely shrugged and answered as if he didn't understand the threat the bandit leader was making, "I'm not sure."
The bandit leader's evil smirk only grew bigger as he crumpled the picture in his fist and threw it down on the ground, "Guess we'll have to find out."
With that, the bandit leader turned on his heel and stormed off, his lackeys trailing behind him as best they could as they ran off from where Vash had fought them off.
"Mr. Saverem..." The doctor spoke quietly, looking mortified, "I-I'm so sorry, I- I didn't think-"
"Don't worry, doctor," Vash responded kindly, picking up the now-crumpled photo off the ground before helping the older gentleman stand up a bit straighter and guiding him over to a bench nearby, "I think that guy was gonna find my name out one way or the other."
"You need to get home, son," the doctor spoke softly, looking at Vash worriedly despite his own wounds, "He made a threat to your family. And there's plenty of bandits in town. God knows what they might try to do. You need to go home. Now."
Vash shook his head, the fear beginning to seep into his veins as he replied, "I can't just leave you here, though. What if they come back?"
"Somehow, I don't think they will," the doctor answered, the smallest smile appearing on his lips. "Now, go home. Go to your family."
With a final nod, Vash quickly took off towards your home, going from a walk to a jog until he was full on sprinting towards the house. His panic was beginning to overwhelm him as he sprinted back towards his home, where his family was hidden. Hopefully, you'd still be there, playing with Rem and Nicholas, none the wiser as to the threats made against you and your children because of Vash's actions.
'Please, please, please, let them be there. Let them be alright,' Vash pleaded in his mind, unsure of who he was pleading to as he sprinted home.
Right away, Vash felt a sense of relief when he saw your shared home. None of the windows had been smashed, the doors were all closed, and your home looked completely untouched. No sign whatsoever of any kind of break-in.
'Thank the Gods,' Vash breathed a deep sigh of relief as he raced up the steps and opened the door, coming into his house, fully prepared to pull you and the twins into a tight hug and not let go of any of you for quite some time.
"(Y/N)? Mayfly?" Vash called as soon as he entered the house, quickly looking around to try and spot you or the children.
However, nothing answered him except silence. The house was eerily quiet.
"Rem?! Nicholas?!" Vash called, his voice growing louder as he walked from room to room. There wasn't even the slightest sign of any disturbance having occurred in any of the rooms - everything was perfectly in place.
'Where are they? Did (Y/N) take the kids out somewhere?' Vash wondered, continuing to look around until he had searched the house from top to bottom for some sign of where you and the children might've gone.
As Vash came back downstairs, he was at a complete loss of where you all might've gone. The panic and fear from before began to reappear, taking root once more in Vash's stomach as his mind began to race.
Where could you have gone? Where were Rem and Nicholas? Were you alright? Were you alive?
Vash's mind swirled with so many questions that he nearly missed the piece of paper lying on the kitchen table, alongside something glinting in the bright sunlight - your wedding ring, next to a piece of a broken children's toy that both Rem and Nicholas had treasured.
As Vash picked up the note, staring at your ring and the broken toy, he felt his heart shatter into a million pieces before it began to thunder in his chest from fear and horror as he read the unfamiliar handwriting on the note.
"Your luck has run out. Check the abandoned school building."

Can we get a short drabble or hcs of reader having their first kiss with Eriks? Imagine your hands in his hair, his stubble tickling your jaw..: (I’m so normal) IMAGINE HIM HESITANTLY PUTTING A HAND ON UR HIP (HANZ IM SO NORMAL)
✦- Eriks x gn. reader
✦cw. none, 98 Eriks coded but also trimax coded as well, just some kissing that's all
✦note. thank you @chris-continues once again for feeding me Eriks content :). we're so normal about this man I swear. there's some small little headcanons at the end about how kissing him would be like and stuff, enjoy.
✦word count- 629
••
Oh absolutely there’s so many possibilities but lemme throw a little back thought I have before the kissing <3
•Nervous. so so nervous. That's all I will say when it comes to giving your first kiss to the guy you’ve been infatuated with for over two years. There had been a confession said to Eriks with it being reciprocated but nothing more happened as he had left to finish something important that needed to be done. That had been months ago but now here in front of you stood a tall dark haired man claiming to be the man you loved which left you utterly confused because your eriks had long blonde hair the last time you saw him. Your suspicions are quickly shut down though when the man quietly utters the nickname that you were given before Eriks had left.
• Anyways. Now onto what you came for :)
•In all honesty, who wouldn’t be nervous when having their first kiss, it could be from being excited because you’re giving it to someone you care for or whether the first kiss would be good or bad. Both of those were part of the reason for your nervousness but the main reason was because of how incredibly handsome Eriks was being in such close proximity with you, especially now that he no longer sported the long blonde locks you were used to him having and instead now had short raven hair.
•The buzzing of blood rushing to your ears distracts you from hearing what the raven haired man says to you before he’s swooping you up into his arms and pressing a soft kiss to your lips that’s warm and inviting but as soon as it’s there it’s gone. It’s honestly the most gentle and sweetest feeling you’ve ever felt before and it’s the utmost purest thing ever and it leaves you wanting more. As soon as he begins blubbering out an apology you’re quick to silence it as you tug him back down to your lips for another kiss, your arms winding around his neck and into his pitch black locks bringing a surprised noise from him in response.
-
•I feel that when Vash finally decides to settle down with you back in the town where he met you he’d probably start going by Eriks once again. He’d keep his hair short but maybe would let it start to grow out again as time passes and gradually begins to grow stubble again and will let you maintain it to how he likes
•As for kissing he’s always going to be kissing you in some sort of way at almost every hour of the day and is always saying how your kisses are his source of energy to get through the day and that it’s vital that he gets at least 20 kisses a day. And as annoying as it may sound you always give into his request and smother him with his kisses he oh so dearly needs.
•I know for a fact that he would teasingly rub his stubble against your cheeks or even neck when he kisses you, the prickly feeling sending you into a fit and trying to get away from his attacks
•His kisses are always warm and inviting and are the softest, they can leave you feeling bubbly when you least expect it. He’s almost always going to have himself wrapped around you somehow, whether that be his arms resting around your waist or around your neck, there are times where he likes to mix it up and dip you while he kisses you.
•Loves to blow raspberries when he kisses you, especially when the two of you are laying down with you on top of him.

Cooking mishaps
Eriks x GN Reader
Synopsis: you’re the cook at a local diner and a girl named lina demands you help a certain someone with his skills
Warnings: none
A/N: okay so TECHNICALLY this isn’t vash but i wrote it for a friend so don’t blame me (also why do yall literally have no content of him HELP)
─── 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
"Goddddddddd."
You slammed your head into your pillow, forcibly trying to make your brain stop working. If only he weren't so handsome. How different things would be if he weren't the sweetest man you knew. You flopped onto your bed again, groaning loudly. Stupid fucking brain.
It was a little past three, but you couldn't even be bothered to care at that moment. The thoughts had been haunting you all day, and no matter what you did, you couldn't get rid of them. You hated this. You hated this feeling of being so desperately infatuated with someone but knowing it would never work out. It was the cruelest fate the world could give, and you were tired of being its strongest soldier. A deep and heavy sigh left your chest as you eventually dragged yourself out of bed to get ready. Putting your clothes on felt like a chore, and at this point, it kind of was. To wake up every day and not have him with you felt like the end of the universe itself. Dramatic? Sure. Heartbreaking? Always.
But nonetheless, you walked towards your door and plastered on a fake smile before opening it. And there he was, right on the opposite side, leaning against the wall. Eriks smiled as he gave you a sheepish wave. "You ready to go?" He looked as unkempt as always, his long blonde hair framing his face like a cloak. But it was a rugged type of unkemptness, which only made him more desirable. Ugh, stop it.
You linked your arm through the crook of his and nodded. "I'm not the one who'll be paying for everything this time, right?" He chuckled as you stepped out of the house but quickly stopped after he saw you glare at him. Your last grocery excursion resulted in him forgetting his wallet and profusely apologizing to you all the way back home. It wasn't as if you would've minded had it not been for the catastrophe he left in your kitchen while attempting to make bread for the first time. You could still smell the smoke when you entered the room sometimes.
"Don't worry, I brought money this time," You swatted his arm, and he yelped, scrambling to finish his sentence. "Yes, enough to pay you back for damages as well."
These trips with Eriks were simple pleasantries, but you cherished them all the same. You were pretty surprised when he asked you one day if you could teach him how to cook. Well, coerced into asking you would be more fitting. The two of you met when he had just shown up in town; that girl Lina had dragged him into the diner where you worked, demanding that you help him.
"He's hopeless; you're the only one who can help him. PLEASE help him."
Sure, being the line cook gave you some skills, but enough to teach somebody else? Absolutely not. But then you noticed his face: gaunt with sunken cheeks like he'd been through hell and back. It was this that persuaded you to go along with Lina's plan and nothing else. Not because he was handsome with his stubble or because he had given you the most pathetic and charming smile you'd ever seen. Not at all.
The two of you walked out of the store after half an hour of you dragging him through all the aisles, picking up household necessities and groceries. You insisted on carrying most of them, claiming he was too frail to pick them up. But as you struggled to walk the last few steps back to your house, he swiftly picked up the bags and walked inside. You stared at his back, your mouth falling open slightly. "Well, if you could've done that, then you should've done it to begin with, you bitch!"
Love was a horrible thing. You offer your entire being to someone and make yourself the most vulnerable you could ever be, only to pray that they don't smash you apart. Such a horrible gamble, but you indulged in it nonetheless. Being in your kitchen, giggling as you helped him learn to properly chop produce and not oversalt food. Watching him out of the corner of your eye, at his kind expression as he laughed along with you. Because in your heart, even though you knew he didn't feel the same, you loved this. Sometimes, he would stand over your shoulder, looking down at your hands, carefully kneading dough. The warmth of his body would overwhelm you and make you start blabbering and pushing him away out of embarrassment.
"A-anyways! Did you see how I didn't overwork it? That's because..."
It was almost childish how naïve you were acting, but you didn't care at this point. Anything to be closer to him.
As the two of you finished your lesson, you sighed happily, dusting your hands off as you watched Eriks pull the finished product out of the oven with mittens. Giddily walking up to him, you softly punched him on the shoulder. "See? Not so bad, is it? Now you know how to make pizza all on your own!" You went to take the pan out of his hands when he suddenly snatched yours.
Your face was instantly on fire as he stared at you from the top of his glasses with a gentle but stern look. "You can't just go touching hot metal things; you'll end up hurt." He let you go, and you slightly stumbled back, your hand still tingling from the sensation. You had always been the more touchy-feely person in this dynamic, making a point to hit him whenever he did or said something dumb. But he'd never done anything back, like a true gentleman (you supposed). While it made you swoon, part (most) of you wished for him to reciprocate. For some sign that maybe he possibly felt the same. And now that he had, your mind was running laps. God.
You tried to smoothly recover, covering your mouth as you coughed nervously. "I would've been fine. If anything, I'm surprised you didn't end up nuking the kitchen again."
Eriks let out a laugh, and you held your breath as he leaned down to meet your gaze. His eyes crinkled with amusement as he softly smiled at you. "That's so mean! But ya know, it's because I had an amazing teacher. You really are talented."
The way he was looking at you... God, why did he have to be so oblivious? Were you simply not forward enough? Or could this all be a game to him? No, that was unlikely. As smart as he was, he could be a bonafide idiot at times. Maybe you just needed to be more direct. You exhaled sharply, drawing up your nonexistent courage, and leaned in closer, your faces inches apart. "So kiss me."
There was complete silence. "Huh?"
"You heard correctly. Kiss me."
He stared at you for what seemed like ages as your knees started to go weak with anxiety. You couldn't tell if he was actually opposed to the idea or not. He had always been an enigma in that sense. Even from the first time you met, you could tell he was hiding something. His expression was kind, but it lacked depth; like everything he was showing was only surface level. So it made this even more complicated because the two of you were just looking at each other, and more than anything, you just wanted to grab his stupid stubble-covered face and-
You froze as he closed the distance, his lips gently pressed against yours. He was hesitant at first, like he was worried you would hit him again out of embarrassment or disgust. But as he felt you relax, he sighed in relief as he gently pushed you against the wall, holding your wrists above your head with one hand. You clenched your fists, trying to calm yourself, but it was impossible. His barely grown-out beard scratched against your face as his finger trailed down your cheek to catch your chin, tipping you closer to him. It was everything you'd imagined and more, and whether it had been minutes or even hours didn't matter. He was here, here at last. And as he pulled away, taking deep breaths of air, he quietly whispered against your mouth. "You don't know how long I've been waiting to do that. Thank you."

Could you please write something short about Eriks eating reader out? His facial hair is driving me insane.
I've been adoring these eriks x reader short fics and I've been obsessed. Please this man needs more short fics about him.
TW: Oral (f!receiving), slight exhibitionism, reader owns a bakery.
~ Prequel ~ Part 2 ~
Your legs wobbled dangerously, arms struggling to keep your weight. It was hard being quiet especially, as the last customers of the day filtered out of the bakery, waving a final goodbye to you.
You desperately wanted to slam the closed sign against the door, but a strong arm kept you in place, holding you against the counter.
Cursing the man, you squeezed your thighs hard around his face, only for it to backfire as Eriks only mouthed your clit harder. Knees buckling as you faltered, the man beneath you grunting as your weight crushed him somewhat. Yet it didn't stop his relentless abuse of your pussy, hiking your cute dress up a little further to tease you as you quickly pulled it down.
"Bastard! The close sign isn't up yet, quit being a pervert!" You yelped, feeling the prickly sensation of his stubble brush against your plush folds.
"Can't help it, you're so cute when I can fluster you." The vibration of his words were agonising, leaving you to release a few moans you had been holding back.
The bell to the front door rung as he squeezed your ass, jolting at the sight on Lina. Now you two were deep shit.
"Hey Miss Y/N, sorry to bother you but have you seen Eriks? He's been gone all day and the last place he said he was heading off to was here." You swallowed, muffling a particularly loud moan that almost slipped through.
It was hard to think of an excuse, especially while you were still being eaten out by the man in question. But you managed something, despite it being suspicious by the constant stuttering.
"So-sorry Lina, Eriks did come through, but he-" another harsh squeeze of your thighs against Eriks skull, a silently warning to stop teasingly flicking your clit. "But he left a while ago, haven't seen him since."
Lina looked at you suspiciously, but thankfully didn't question you further. She thanked you as she turned to leave, opening the door.
"If you wouldn't mind Lina, can you flip the sign for me please?" She raised a brow your way, obliging as flipped the sign and left.
Sighing, you glared down at the blonde man beneath you, still happily writing his name with his tongue on your bud of nerves. You were going to kill him.
But that would have to wait, as once he got your orgasm crashing over you, collapsing on him as you moaned his name. Eriks yelped, tapping your back to try and get you off him.
Eventually you did shift your weight, leaning against the counter, panting heavily. You looked at him, massaging his neck as he gave you the biggest puppy eyes ever, your cum painted over his face.
"I think you strained my neck." Eriks whined, adjusting his neck until it cracked.
"Not my fault you wanted to eat me out in the middle of work, should've waited until after I closed." The giant man only gave you a childish pout, hugging your legs.
"But I couldn't wait that long, besides I promised Granny I'd be home for dinner this time, I wouldn't have made it if I waited for you to finish." He gave you wide puppy eyes, smiling as you knelt down to wipe his face with your apron.
"I love you, but geez you piss me off," You placed a tender kiss to his forehead, helping him stand up. "Now hurry up, before Lina comes back and catches you."
Eriks smiled, placing several feathery kisses to you face. "Can we do this again tomorrow?"
You shooed him out the door, locking it behind him. Fuck, you felt as if you were babysitting a giant Labrador at times. But you'd be lying if Eriks didn't make your core shiver at the idea of him between your legs, beard scratching against your cunt as he ate you out.

It had been 2 years since you lost your husband. He had done something brave. Something that helped a lot of people.
But he had left you behind.
You had cried yourself to sleep a countless number of times after you found his coat, but not him. The hope that he was still alive had subsided after maybe your ninth night of laying in bed, cuddling his coat close to your body and crying into the rough material. This coat had meant so much to him, there was no way he would've left it. There was no way he could've left you. And...
"Mommy?"
Iris. She was in the doorway again, looking at you with a worry and sadness behind her eyes. He wouldn't have left her.
She shuffled towards you and climbed in bed with you. She looked at your sniffling form for a moment before an idea popped into her head. In an attempt to make you feel better, she handed you the toy that her father had picked out for her while you were pregnant. The memory of buying that toy with him filled your mind and, even though you knew she was trying to help, you couldn't help the deep sobs that rattled your body as you pulled both her and the stuffed rabbit closer to your shaking form.
He was really gone. There was no way he would have left Iris behind. He loved that girl so much. He always talked about his hopes for her life.
Another shaking cry left your body as Iris started to sniffle as well, clutching the front of your night gown. You hated when she saw you like this, but it seemed inevitable these past few nights.
It was about the sixth month after you lost him that you began to come to terms with the fact that he wasn't coming back. Your endless nights, sitting up and holding back tears as you looked out the window for him were fruitless. The conversation with Iris where you told her about how her father wasn't going to be coming back was heartbreaking. Watching her small face distort in confusion, then sadness, filled you with guilt. You knew it wasn't your fault, but you couldn't help the filling that overcame you when you saw her so upset.
Now, it marked the two year anniversary since his death. It was a hard day for you, but you decided to go to the market with Iris, who walked next to you, holding her stuffed rabbit as the two of you maneuvered through the crowd. You were hoping to get some things to make a treat for the two of you. God knows you deserved it.
As you were sliding in between two people, you felt Iris' hand leave yours. You turned quickly, but she was already gone from your sight as more people tried to move past you.
"Iris!" You called as you pushed through the people. Panic settled on your skin, a nauseous feeling overcoming you as you searched for her. You weren't going to let the universe take another loved one away from you.
You continued to shove your way through the crowd, until you see a flash of blond hair and you freeze.
"Daddy!" You hear Iris cry as you move towards her voice. You break out into the small opening, where a tall man with shaggy blond hair and stubble stood there, nervously trying to pry Iris off of him.
"Iris! Leave that poor man alone..!" You raised your voice as you reached forward, pulling her off of the stranger. She let out a loud scream and began to thrash in your arms, tears falling down her cheeks.
"Mommy, let me go!" She yelled as she slipped from your grasp again, running forward and grabbing the man again. Her small hands clutched his shirt as she cried, "I missed you! We both missed you! When are you coming home?"
Your face flushed in embarrassment as you went to pull her away again, "I'm sorry, sir... She lost her father. It's been-"
"You're okay," He says quickly as he wraps his arms around the small child, "losing a loved one is... hard." He says softly as she looks down at her, before glancing up at you.
You couldn't blame Iris for thinking this man was her father. When his eyes met yours, you almost let out a cry as well. But there was no way that this man was Vash though. If he was alive... he would've come and found you by now.
"I'm sorry you lost your father," the man said as he rubbed your daughter's back, "I'm sure he... I'm sure he cared a lot about you," he looks back up at you again "about both of you."
You blinked away any tears that had formed in your eyes before you gave him a 'thank you'. You weren't sure how much more of this you could take so you reached for Iris again and started to pull her back in the direction you had been walking before.
She let out another cry and reached for the man again, yelling for her father. You struggled to keep your composure as you started walking away from the man, Iris trying to pry her hand from yours, screaming about how you were leaving him behind and that he was right there.
The temptation to break down was overwhelming, but you couldn't let her see you like that again. You felt hot embarrassment fill your face as you dragged your crying, screaming daughter away from the man that she thought was her father.
You managed to calm her down after a while, finishing your shopping trip, but she still seemed upset with you. Even when you had brought out the cake you made for the two of you, she refused to eat even a piece.
That night, for the first time in a long time, you took out his coat from storage and slept with it. There were no tears this time, though. There was no point in crying over someone who was gone.

Hello ! Im not sure if you’re familiar with this unfinished story but it would mean alot if you continued it 🤍 even if it is just a one shot or two 😭 it takes place during the aftermath of the 90’s trigun
I’ve read your knives pieces and i love your writing 🤍 please do not feel pressured! This is only a suggestion and im sure you’re busy so no worries!
https://archiveofourown.org/series/3391333
I hope the link works, its a “series” called sometimes!
A nsfw “chapter” would be highly appreciated if you take this on 🤭🤍 lots of love dear writer !
Hey, Anon!
Thank you so much for this message! I am grateful to hear that you have enjoyed my writing! Comments like this really brighten my day! <3
I am humbled to receive such a request and moved that you would ask me such a thing. I read the series and it is very good, it's a shame it hasn't been continued, but I could not hijack someone else's work (even if it has been a while since the last update and the original authors have orphaned their accounts), it just doesn't feel right or fair to me. I hope you understand. <3
BUT, while I was recovering from eye surgery and didn't have much to do, I did start to think about a new mini-series. Originally was going to be a Vash & Reader one where he would be his unlucky self and get injured and have a lovely nurse take care of him, but then the story changed into a Knives x Reader one. My version of Trigun tends to be a mixture of all the different iterations so it would lean into the end of Trimax+'98 where instead of Knives looking for caretakers for Vash it would be the other way around and grant Knives a redemption arc with some cowboy influences. Kind of like Knives' version of Eriks. So perhaps that will happen and be a consolation :)
Thanks again, Anon!
Love & Peace! <3

*KICKS DOWN DOOR* YOU ASK FOR ERIKS AND I SHALL INDULGE ok so what im gonna need is some where the reader thinks Vash (they were dating before everything went to shit) is dead until they blow into town with Woofboy and they do the whole Recognition thing yknow. Ok and so after all the Bad Shit gets dealt with and they have a moment alone to talk, he thinks that they're not gonna be in love with him anymore after all this time and might even be pissed at him for sort of "abandoning" them but they just express nothing but joy at having him back in their arms again and how they're soulmates and sappy stuff like that and its very sweet and emotional and raw because they missed each other so so much. And if you sprinkled just a little spice at the end I wouldn't mind cuz the long hair and stubble is so sexy on that man. Maybe it would be great part 2 bait idk I don't wanna put too much on you. Might be best to play that by ear.
Sorry this is so long I got excited when I saw ur post ily bye.
Across Time and Space (Part 1)

You brought your hand up to shield your eyes from the glaring sunlight as the tiny town came into view, the bus you were on finally arriving after what felt like an eternity and a half.
"Remind me again why we chose to come to this tiny town, Wolfwood," You grumbled under your breath, grabbing your backpack and strapping it to your back as you started to get ready to disembark from the bus.
"Cause we gotta see if we can find the Humanoid Typhoon here," The priest replied, shooting you a smile that you couldn't bring yourself to return.
"Vash is dead, Wolfwood," You snapped back, your heart tightening in your chest as you said his name for what felt like the first time in forever, "He's dead, and we're not finding him."
Wolfwood just stayed silent, watching you carefully as you let out a deep sigh, rubbing your face with your hands, trying desperately to brush off the pain that the mere thought of Vash had brought you.
Wolfwood wasn't a fool - he knew you and Vash had been in love with each other. He knew that you and Vash were more than friends, that Vash was everything to you. Wolfwood remembered how you seemed to stop living after the disaster in the city of July, when the city was turned into a crater and Vash was nowhere to be found. You had watched the man you loved fall from the sky and the city cave in on itself in a massive explosion of energy - there was no way Vash could've survived that.
When Vash died, so did you. You existed, sure - you walked and talked and drank and ate, but you had stopped living. It was heartbreaking to watch - both Wolfwood and Meryl couldn't stand to see you so broken, but nothing they did could bring Vash back. And so, you became silent, closed-off, and you never smiled anymore.
"I'm sorry, Wolfwood. I just... don't see the point in hoping for what can't be," You apologized, your voice quiet as you stared down at the floor, your heart aching in your chest as Vash's smiling face appeared in your mind.
Wolfwood sighed a bit and just stepped forward, throwing his arm around your shoulder casually. However, when he spoke, his tone was surprisingly gentle.
"It's okay. You're still hurting, (Y/N). Let's just get off this bus and settle in, yeah?"
You nodded, pulling up your hood to cover your head as you followed Wolfwood off the bus, shoving through all the people who were fighting to get on the bus you had just arrived on.
"What the hell is all that about?" You muttered, glancing at Wolfwood in confusion as you both watched the crowd of people swarming the bus, many of them shouting at the driver to let them on.
"No clue, but I have a feeling we'll find out real soon," Wolfwood replied, his shades glistening in the sunlight as he turned his head, gesturing towards a building not too far away, "Let's start at the saloon. If anybody's got information, they'll likely be there."
You just nodded and followed Wolfwood, keeping your head down and your face hidden - you didn't feel like starting a conversation with anybody who recognized you as new to the town.
However, that plan immediately went out the window the moment you and Wolfwood stepped foot into the saloon, as you suddenly found every person in the saloon pointing their guns at the two of you. You let out a stifled yelp and threw your hands up, your heart beating fast in your chest. You heard Wolfwood let out a small sound just like you had, his hands up in the air, too, sweating slightly as he glanced around.
Thankfully, after a few seconds, the townsfolk decided you weren't a threat and lowered their weapons. With that, you and Wolfwood slowly approached the bar, and you could hear Wolfwood chatting with the bartender. As he did, you walked over to the window of the saloon, gazing at the people walking by and watching the mob chasing after the bus you had arrived on.
'Man, what a weird place,' You thought to yourself, 'Feels so tense here.'
Suddenly, you watched the ground near the bus explode, sending people flying through the air and causing Wolfwood to exclaim, "What happened over there?"
The bartender explained that the town was overrun with bandits, and then you heard the name "Vash the Stampede" escape his lips and your heart just about stopped in your chest. However, you immediately recognized that the kind of violence being orchestrated by this gang being run by "Vash the Stampede" was everything Vash opposed. There was no way this was Vash's doing.
'Like it matters, he's been dead for almost two years anyway,' You thought to yourself bitterly, your mouth pressing into a thin line. You weren't listening to whatever the bartender was telling Wolfwood, but you found yourself glancing over at the entrance as you heard the door swing open.
All the patrons immediately had their guns pointing at the intruders, which in this case, happened to be a tall man with long, blonde hair wearing glasses, holding a young girl with short, brown hair in what almost looked like a chokehold. You found yourself reaching for your own weapon, readying to fight the man until you heard the girl speak.
"Uh oh. Hey, what's the big idea you guys?!"
You jumped a little at how loud she was, and you heard the patrons mumbling to themselves, "Oh, it's only Lina."
"What do you mean "only Lina"?! Let go of me, Eriks!" The young girl, Lina, shouted, freeing herself from the grasp of the tall, blonde man who simply let her go and watched her walk towards the bar, his expression surprised.
"Lina, what's the big hurry?" The bartender asked as the girl walked over, standing right next to you and Wolfwood. You studied the girl carefully, deciding that she couldn't be older than 12 at the most.
'She's very brave, I gotta give her that,' You thought to yourself, your lip twitching upwards a bit.
"I was wondering if you could hide me somewhere," Lina asked, a sheepish smile on her face as she asked.
The bartender looked a bit concerned as he inquired, "What did you do this time?"
"She doesn't know when to quit."
You jumped out of your skin at the sudden, new voice - the tall, blonde man, Eriks, had walked up to the bar without you noticing. You physically jumped, your hood falling from your head and revealing your face, not that it mattered - you weren't trying to hide anymore.
"Oh, sorry! Did I scare yo-?" Eriks began to apologize, turning to look at you as he did so, but his sentence died in his mouth as he looked at your face, his eyes widening behind his glasses.
"It's okay," You let out a jittery half-chuckle, just trying to recollect yourself, "I just didn't hear you walk up to the bar, just startled me a bit."
Eriks didn't say a word - he just continued to look at you, his eyes almost owlishly wide. You couldn't decode the expression on the man's face, and you began to feel uncomfortable at the level of intensity in his gaze.
"Um... is something wrong?" You asked, your voice making it clear that you were becoming uncomfortable.
That was enough to snap Eriks out of whatever stupour he was in, with him shaking his head a bit as though trying to clear it, his tone a bit embarrassed, "S-Sorry! No, nothing's wrong, you just... you look like somebody I knew once."
You found yourself wanting to smile a bit, but the words struck pain into your heart again and you just nodded, your lips pressing into a thin line once again.
"I see."
The man, Eriks, let out a nervous laugh before extending his hand to you for you to shake, "I'm Eriks. Sorry about startling you...?"
It was clear he was asking for your name. You just extended your hand and took his, shaking it firmly, "(Y/N). (Y/N) (Y/L/N)."
You thought you felt Eriks' grip on your hand falter for half a moment, but you brushed it off - probably nothing of note.
"N-Nice to meet you, (Y/N)," Eriks replied, his voice breaking slightly. He was evidently very, very nervous.
"Are you okay?" You asked bluntly, "You look ready to pass out."
Eriks just nodded before letting your hand go, "Y-Yeah! I'm good, I'm fine. Just, um... Lina's in trouble."
You didn't entirely buy that sudden excuse, but you decided to go with it, "Uh oh, what did she do?"
That's when you heard Lina explaining that she thumped a bandit across the face and that the bandit was coming after her.
"What are you telling me?" The bartender asked, his voice full of worry and his expression becoming one of horror, "Oh, my dear..."
"Yeah... I'm afraid so," Lina confirmed, leaning on the bar with a sad expression on her face, "And they weren't real happy about it. But, at least I don't think they saw me come in here."
The bartender immediately began to yell, and before you had a second to process what was happening, the wall next to you exploded, causing you to cry out as you got thrown across the room.
"Hey... I wasn't done eating yet," You heard Wolfwood complain, and you groaned as you sat up from the floor where you'd landed. You could've laughed at the image of Wolfwood holding his knife and fork over his plate, which was now crushed by a piece of broken wall.
"(Y/N)! You okay?"
You looked up to see Eriks standing above you, offering you his hand to help you up, which you took gladly.
"Yeah, I'm okay," You replied, brushing yourself off as you got to your feet, wincing slightly as your back ached from the impact, "I'm probably badly bruised, but I don't think anything's broken."
The look of relief on Eriks' face didn't feel like it matched what it should've been for a stranger he had just met - he looked relieved as he would look if you had been one of his closest friends. It was weird.
However, before you had a moment longer to think about it all, you heard yelling coming from outside the bar - the bandit who Lina had hit, yelling to give her up or that he'd shoot again if they didn't.
You grit your teeth, anger surging through your body - how dare this bandit threaten a child? She may be feisty and fiery, but she was still just a child. You grabbed your weapon and began to walk towards the hole in the wall, but somebody stopped you in your tracks, putting their arm out in front of you - Eriks.
"No, wait. Let me handle this," He spoke, his voice quiet but very sure. A surge of familiarity coursed through you - where had you heard this before? That tone... that calmness... it unsettled you as you knew you'd heard it before, but where? You couldn't pin it.
That split second of you being thrown off by the sudden feeling of déjà-vu was all Eriks needed before he walked out of the bar, his hands in the air, trying to appease the bandit and stop him from doing further damage to anybody or anything.
"Wolfwood," You mumbled, coming up to the priest, "Is it just me, or does Eriks feel... familiar to you?"
The priest just looked at you carefully, "Familiar? Familiar how?"
"I don't know," You confessed, "Just... the way he spoke to me just now reminded me of-"
Your eyes widened and your words died on your lips as you realized exactly who Eriks had reminded you of.
Vash.
You didn't need to say anything - Wolfwood could see the immediate look of shock on your face, the realization dawning on you. You could feel your breathing picking up and your heart rate was starting to go through the roof - why did Eriks sound so much like Vash? Hadn't you suffered enough? To lose Vash once was agony. But to be reminded of him now? It was unbearable.
"Woah, (Y/N), woah, calm down, breathe. You need to breath."
You could hear Wolfwood's words, but you couldn't understand them, couldn't process them. You were bordering on a full-blown panic attack. The world suddenly became quieter, all sounds muted, as though you were underwater. You couldn't process anything else going on around you right now. All you could do was stumble to your feet and run to the hole in the wall of the saloon, your eyes landing on the blonde man who reminded you so much of the love of your life.
You didn't really understand what was happening - you could vaguely hear the tones and timbre of Eriks' voice and the voice of the bandit, but you couldn't make out the words. You watched as Eriks bowed to the bandit all the way to the ground, trying to apologize on Lina's behalf and diffuse the situation, but it apparently hadn't been enough.
The bandit yelled something at Eriks, to which he apparently agreed. To your surprise, you watched as Eriks suddenly... began to take off his clothes?
"W-What?" You mumbled, not understanding what was happening. All you could make out was the sound of Lina crying next to you, and Wolfwood comforting her as Eriks defended her, even at the cost of his pride.
When you looked back at Eriks, you suddenly felt as though you had been hit by a truck.
Those scars... that body... the missing arm replaced with a prosthetic...
All you heard before the ground came up to meet you and the world went black around you was the sound of Wolfwood exclaiming your name - "(Y/N)!".
You don't know how long you'd been unconscious for, but when you found yourself waking up, you didn't recognize your surroundings. You were in a rather large room, laying on what could've only been a hospital bed, right next to a large window. There were no other beds or patients in the room with you - it was just you. And-
"Morning, sweetheart."
You jumped, turning to see Wolfwood sitting at your bedside, a smirk on his face as his cigarette dangled between his lips crookedly.
"W-Wolfwood," You spoke, your voice strained, "W-What-?"
"You dropped like a stone," Wolfwood explained, standing from his chair and walking over to sit right next to you on your bed, "You saw Eriks' scars and I guess the realization of who he was was just too much for you to handle. Can't say I'm surprised, it's not every day you learn that supposedly dead love of your life isn't actually dead."
Wolfwood just grinned at you, but you just sat there, unmoving, eyes staring forward like you were a statue, not really seeing whatever you were looking at. The memories of what had preceded your passing out came back to you in flashes, and before Wolfwood could continue speaking, you were suddenly sobbing as you had never sobbed before.
All the pain, the sadness, the grief, the loneliness, the feeling of having part of you missing for so long overwhelmed you, making you feel every bit of emotion you had been repressing over the past two years. You sobbed and sobbed and sobbed, crying your eyes out as you buried your face into your knees, unable to comprehend what was happening. Surely you were dead, or dreaming, because there was no way that Vash was really alive.
Unless...
"I'll leave you be," You heard Wolfwood say gruffly, before he stood up, patting your back and leaving you alone to confront your emotions.
After that, Wolfwood walked over to another patient's room - that of Eriks, or rather, Vash the Stampede. He had already spoken to Vash earlier, telling him about the fact that Millions Knives was still at large, but now... this was going to be a very different conversation.
Wolfwood didn't even bother knocking, just letting himself right into Vash's room, walking over to where the blonde young man sat in his bed.
"You know, I'm surprised you didn't straight up kill (Y/N)," Wolfwood started, a small smirk on his face as he sat next to Vash, who was just watching him carefully. He watched Vash's expression become one of concern the moment your name left Wolfwood's lips.
"What do you mean?" Vash asked, eyebrows furrowing at Wolfwood's statement - the last Vash saw of you was when he stopped you from taking on the bandit yourself, and you were fine, then.
Wolfwood sighed, "(Y/N) saw your scars, Stampede. It was too much for them to handle and they passed out cold. Smacked their head pretty bad on the way down, but that was my bad, I didn't expect them to go down."
"What?!" Vash exclaimed, his blue eyes widening in worry. He immediately began to try to get out of his bed, but Wolfwood stopped him.
"(Y/N)'s spent the last two years grieving you, Vash. They believed you were dead. This is a bigger shock than you know. They heard nothing from you and the last thing they saw of you was when July city imploded on itself."
Vash's eyes somehow managed to widen even more, and tears were beginning to well in them as Wolfwood explained the situation to him. Wolfwood told him everything he knew - about how you'd essentially become a living statue, not truly living beyond basic existence, about how broken you'd become, how closed-off and sad you were now. You'd been changed so badly that neither Vash nor Wolfwood were really sure if you'd ever rebound from this.
By the time Wolfwood was done explaining, Vash found himself crying silently, his heart torn to pieces at the thought of what this had done to you.
"They loved you more than anything, Vash," Wolfwood stated quietly, standing up as he went to take his leave for the second time that day, "I think you owe them an explanation and a very big apology."
With that, Wolfwood left Vash to his own thoughts, just as he had done to you earlier.
Vash sat there, just replaying everything Wolfwood had told him in his mind. He was telling the truth, Vash knew - he had seen the look on your face when he initially saw you as Eriks. Vash had been so taken aback by you when he took a good look at your face - you looked so much like yourself, but simultaneously so different.
Your face had new scars, and lines engraved in your skin from frowning and worrying rather than from smiling, as you used to in the past. Your expression was tired and somewhat empty, even as you greeted him, and your tone was dull and serious. And your eyes...
Tears began to course down Vash's cheeks freely, soft sobs escaping from his throat as pain jolted through him as he recalled your eyes.
Your eyes were utterly lifeless. Like you had died in every way except physically.
Vash had had to restrain himself from gasping loudly, sobbing his heart out and begging you for forgiveness when he'd looked at you for the first time in two years. He had wanted nothing more than to pull you into his embrace as he used to do before July then and there, but when you failed to recognize him, Vash knew that he couldn't do that to you.
'There's no way they still love me now,' Vash thought to himself, his pain intensifying and his cries becoming louder as he sobbed into his hands, 'I've destroyed them, too.'
You were the love of Vash's life. Nobody ever meant more to him than you did, and after the destruction of July city... Vash couldn't face you. He was a murderer, while you were innocent, pure, and good. He couldn't bring himself to look for you, or try to reach out to you, because he had wanted to keep you safe. Especially now that his bounty was 60 billion double dollars and everybody was hunting for him.
But when he saw you in that saloon... and he saw how damaged you'd become... he realized that he'd done had been wrong. So, so wrong. You'd loved him all that time, to the point where his supposed death broke you beyond repair, and it was all Vash's fault. In trying to protect you, he'd been the one to hurt you worse than anybody ever had before.
And now, he had to find the strength to face you. But how could he?
"Your gun! Give me your gun, hurry!"
Vash suddenly heard the frantic, panicked voice of Lina's grandmother, Grandma Sheryl, coming from downstairs. He focused in, wiping the tears off his face as he listened.
"It's Lina, they got her!"
The arguing continued, and Vash knew what he had to do then. Once he'd rescued Lina, he'd talk to you. He'd face you, and finally pay for his mistake.
As Vash dressed and exited his room, he found Wolfwood standing there, leaning against the wall, a cigarette between his lips once more.
"They got (Y/N), too, it seems like," Wolfwood stated, looking surprisingly calm despite having to deliver terrible news, "Guess they thought (Y/N) was a worthy hostage."
Vash's eyes widened, and his gaze hardened slightly, his heart twisting hard in his chest at the thought of you in danger - despite the two years that had passed, Vash still loved you more than anything in his life, and he still sought to protect you. He had thought of you every day, wondering where you were, what you were up to, if you'd missed him...
He had to rescue you and Lina as soon as possible.
With his teeth gritted and his gun holstered, Vash headed out with Wolfwood trailing in his wake.
"Then, let's go get them."
Wolfwood just smirked.
"There's the Stampede I used to know."
