I have been a fan of No Doubt for a long time. They were my first concert in middle school and after moving to LA in 2012, I wanted to pay tribute to a band that has inspired me over the years. Here are some logos I did for a contest. I thought of these designs again after reading a post saying Tragic Kingdom was released 24 years ago today! I still remember how that first concert made me feel and all the fan art it inspired me to make. They clearly loved what they were doing and who they got to do it with. Animated gif stored in mail from yesterday. iPhoto does or does support animated Gifs? Good question, if it does you should just drop them in iPhoto? No?

WONKA “There’s gonna be a lot of garbage today”
Re-edit the file “Garbage.psd” to sync picture with the soundtrack. I had cut it in four spots in order for the dialogue to match. Then go back to the original color-animation work and try and match the edits I did in iMovie.
To get it right I have to look at the edit frame by frame then remember the last frame of each piece of film then cut out the middle between them and then when I make the MP4 the edits are corrected.
Last night I was working at the front scene reworking lips sync (which came up much better. Then I started working from the back to the front and I got mixed up on the edit.
I like to make a copy of the soundtrack and try a new version of the edit incase anything goes wrong and so I can revert to the original and this complex scene has Wonka moving with moving mouths and the backgrounds are “masks” hiding other possible mouth shapes. It’s hard because if I need a mouth I have to hunt for it, because it’s hidden behind the background. I enjoy knowing I did the best possible job I could. I can always go back and smooth out the animation of the character but not until the lips sync is just right.
