Most people don’t realize that Eric Carmen was Jewish. He is quoted as saying, “I can remember every kid who made a crack about me being Jewish”. His parents were Jewish Russian immigrants.  He was the founder and lead singer of the popular group, the Raspberries and later went onto huge success as a single musical artist with such songs as All By Myself and Hungry Eyes, which featured in the 1987 film Dirty Dancing.

American music artist Eric Carmen has sadly passed away recently in March 2024 aged 74. The cause hasn’t been disclosed. His wife announced his passing on 11 March 2024 on his website and stated that he died in his sleep.

Eric Carmen was a singer, songwriter and musician. He had numerous hits during the 1970s and 1980s, including All by Myself, Make Me Lose Control and then there is Hungry Eyes from the Dirty Dancing soundtrack (1987).
