Mini-review:

Okay, why did nobody tell me the director of Your Name Engraved Herein had made a whole-ass gay drama? Just from that fact, I already knew I would love this. It certainly has more of a BL vibe compared to the movie, probably due to the source material, but it still manages to avoid basically all the toxic tropes and stereotypes. I really appreciate when these type of dramas take as much time as necessary to properly flesh out the characters and their bond, which is what you get here. People looking for constant romance will be disappointed, but the leads have fantastic chemistry, and seeing their development is exactly what makes it special. But truly, the characters are so relatable; the show uses them to make some beautiful reflections on life and youth. My biggest complaint is that the pace does get a bit too slow from time to time. Still, The On1y One is a gorgeously made drama and I definitely hope that second season happens.

I would LOVE to see what would’ve happened if Nat had agreed to go back to his team but be a spy for Eric. I can just imagine it… Nat slipping away in the dead of night, going back into Eric’s compound. A bow would be customary, maybe a lick on Eric’s shoes in greeting… it would be awesome.

Hm, nice :)) In a scenario I've written Nat refuses. But who knows... after enough torture... or threats... and no rescue yet :3 maybe they'd finally give in.

Information would have to be reported on their knees, of course. Right in front of Eric's desk. Starting with a bow, a respectful greeting, before Eric would flick a hand, allowing them to continue speaking.

The stress alone would be too much to handle, add in the web of lies, the doubt from Jeff, the where-have-you-beens?, Nat getting shorter and snappier with their friends by the week... Not to mention that Eric would take advantage and would try to hurt Nat every chance he'd get. So, hiding injuries gets added to the pile.

Nat would scoff at first:

"You can't hurt me now."

Eric just smiles, chin resting on folded hands as he takes in the kneeling figure from behind his desk.

"Hm Nat... it's not like you to miscalculate like that."

He slides his chair back and slowly rounds his desk, one hand behind his back, and stops right in front of Nat, who by now doesn't dare breathe.

"Well, stress does that, I guess. Add some false bravado..." He sinks down to one knee, brushes his knuckles over Nat's cheekbone, and continues in a hushed but excited voice. "Your face is off-limits."

Slowly, he brings up the hand from behind his back, revealing a taser. He teases it over Nat's throat, rests it against the underside of their chin and tilts it up until wide, dark eyes fix on his. He flicks the taser on, letting the little bolt of lightning crackle in Nat's face to see them flinch, to see the confliction in those eyes.

"Not everything I do has to leave evidence. And there's plenty of injuries that can be hidden. Some with more effort than others..."

as someone who was a theatre kid (still kind of am) I wanna do headcanons of you dragging the LIs into high school theatre

(apologies I tried to keep these generic as possible but some may require more knowledge of the plays referenced, especially Sylus’s)

Xavier

You tell him you’re going to audition for Alice in Wonderland, but you’re nervous and ask Xavier to do it with you

But Xavier cannot act for the life of him, so he offers to join with backstage stuff instead, which you reluctantly agree to (you definitely wanted to see him as the rabbit)

Obviously, he has no experience with stage managing, run crew, or anything like that, but he quickly figures out lighting design

While he can’t be on stage with you, he loves being able to put you in the spotlight you deserves, and it’s comforted knowing he’s watching and helping you

To your dismay and Xavier’s amusement, you got the Rabbit instead and he gets to watch you hop around the stage from the tech booth

Zayne

Theatre was not at all on Zayne’s radar until you pleaded with him to do Frozen with you

He eventually caves, but he doesn’t put too much effort into the audition. He’s too focused on being there to support you to worry about his own performance

He’s put in Ensemble so he has no lines as a party guest in the beginning and maybe one line as a troll later on

This works just as well for him since he dedicates too much time to his assignments to learn lines

When show time finally roles around though Zayne enjoys watching you perform, and if he’s not in the scene with you he’s definitely admiring from the wings

You got Anna so if Zayne is tearing up when she gets frozen and glaring at the poor kid playing Hans, that’s between him and the curtains

Rafayel

When you asked Rafayel to audition for Aladdin with you, he was not at all into it…at first

You go to the auditions and he can sing damn good, so the director casts him as Aladdin and you manage to get Jasmine

Now very enthusiastic, he puts his all into this show. He has all of his lines memorized by 2 weeks and is working well with the rest of the cast

The show flys by and Rafayel is waiting to ask you to audition for The Little Mermaid with him (obviously hoping for another showmance as Ariel and Eric)

Unfortunately, you’re too busy though so he drops it. He had lots of fun, but he’s only interested if it’s with you (much to the disappointment of the director)

Sylus

You recruit Luke and Kieran to help convince Sylus to audition for Little Shop of Horrors with you

He is having NONE of it. He is avoiding you like the plague until auditions time is over. But just on the last day you find him and he gives in

You were praying for him to get the dentist, but much to Sylus’s relief he gets Audrey II so he doesn’t have to actually be on stage

Youre cast as original, human Audrey, so Sylus is left to watch as you get dragged by the dentist boyfriend and as you pretend to swoon over Seymour. It’s torturous.

He’s not the only one working the Audrey II puppet, but he’s always on the other side to steady you after she gets eaten by the plant. It might just be your imagination, but it sounds like there’s a thud every time after Seymour is eaten. And the eating of the dentist’s body parts always sounds very aggressive.

Caleb

You and Caleb are walking to class when you see the auditions poster for Peter Pan and both of you are immediately for it

Caleb is giddy going to the auditions already fantasizing about him and you playing Peter and Wendy together

But things never quite go to plan. He gets cast as Peter, but you end up with Captain Hook.

He is beyond disappointed at first, but after sulking for a bit he grows to appreciate it. The two of you goof off a lot during their sword fights, which frustrates the director to no end.

After closing night, you ask if Caleb wants to do the next play. He says he’ll think about it, but he doesn’t want to take the risk. He couldn’t stand it if you got a romantic part with another guy, and having to act with the Wendy actress was torture when all he could think of was how it could’ve been you.

Headcanon - Love and Deepspace boys as Disney Princes

This came to me out of nowhere but was also quite fun and challenging to write, since the boys are such interesting characters. Do note that not all the "princes" are official princes, I just used that term because it's quick and easy. I hope you'll enjoy this and if you have other opinions, please let me know! I would love to hear your thoughts on this

Xavier

Xavier was a bit of a hard one to really pin down. So, I would say a part of him reminds me of Shang Li. Both are trained in combat, and take time to warm up to you, both are also quite loyal to you.

Due to Xavier’s strength and from what I have seen in his memories sort of boy next door vibes and cuteness I will also say he reminds me of Hercules. Hercules has that sort off cute awkwardness to him that I feel sometimes Xavier also has. In addition to that, Hercules would and has almost sacrificed himself to save Megara which in my opinion is similar to Xavier’s decision to leave his home, not knowing what could happen, to save his love.

Zayne

For the most part he gives me Robert from Enchanted vibes, a bit more reserved and a tad cynical while also being frank. However, I also think Zayne is partly Prince Philip, brave and loyal; a prince who charges into battle to save his love which I think fits Zayne. Also fun fact Robert’s last name is Philip! Both also fought dragons lol, something Zayne would definitely also do to save you.

I also believe there is a hint of general Shang Li within him, both incredibly devoted to their work and also very good in their respective areas. Also, just like Zayne, Shang Li at first seems a bit cold but once you get to know him better you’ll see just how soft and sweet they truly are even if it’s not always immediately noticeable.

Rafayel

Sylus

Hear me out, prince Edward from Enchanted. I know, another character from Enchanted -sue me- but I do think he has similarities to prince Edward. They both lean on the dramatic side and I don’t doubt for a second that Rafayel would also sing ‘A true love’s kiss’ in public. Edward converses with a chipmunk, Rafayel converses with sea animals. They're practically twins.

The other prince I think Rafayel resembles is Cinderella’s prince, prince Henri, but the version from the third movie. A believer in true love and also a tad dramatic, Rafayel would also jump out a window to go after his one true love. He also, just like Prince Henri, searched quite some time for his love and had to go through quite some trouble to find you.

This might be unpopular but he reminds me of Dimitri from Anastasia: witty, sarcastic, smart and from my pov both in a way underestimate their love interests. Just like with Dimitri does is take some time for Sylus to ‘soften’ a bit, in the beginning he was a lot harsher yet from more recent memories we see a very different side to him.

I also think he has a touch of prince Naveen, with how they’re both a bit reckless and love to spend money. Unlike Naveen though I don’t believe Sylus’ is much of a ladies man, in my opinion he would dislike such superficial relationships.

Lastly, I think he also has a touch of prince Adam/the Beast, both a bit coarse in the beginning yet just like the other princes Adam softens up and becomes a big supporter of Belle similar to Sylus with you.

Caleb

Caleb gives me a mix of prince Eric and Phoebus. Eric because both are in a way adventurous, Eric more so I’d say and also both are big time romantics. Eric believes in true love and Caleb believes you are his true love. Both are also very kind, Eric takes in a complete stranger and allows Ariel to stay in his castle while providing her all she could need without asking anything in return and Caleb similarly looks out for you, cooks for you and tries his best to make you happy. He wants to make sure you want for nothing.

I think Caleb also resembles Phoebus because both are able to keep a straight face but also quick to crack a joke. Also both are soldiers, al be it both aren’t exactly doing it super willingly. Phoebus does it to survive and Caleb had no say at all. I also think he has hints of Kristoff, although both are kind I do get the vibe that Caleb can come across as very cold just like Kristoff in the beginning. With Caleb this is most noticeable when he’s a colonel and the person that helps warm him up is obviously you.

Next headcannon: lads as the different types of Kens?

There a few things people need to know before criticizing The On1y One:

It's based on a chinese novel, not taiwanese. It may seem like a small detail, but it isn't.

This was supposed to be adapted in mainland China, but due censorship production went to Taiwan to avoid interference.

Liu Dong (Eric Zayn) casting did come under fire prior to release due his age, he is 30. Him being on the show was actually a demand from one of the financial backers.

Liu most likely would've been casted if the show remained in mainland China, where he resides. And because he lives there he cannot promote the show with his partner. So you probably won't see him beside Jiang any time soon.

He is actually at risk of suffering retaliation from chinese government by staying there and working on this show.

From the get go director Liu Kuang Hui made it clear that show and book would be different from one another. Want what you get in the novel? Stick to it, because the show won't be a word by word adaptation.

Again, since production started on mainland China what we get probably was adapted to avoid problems with their government, so you can put that on their never ending homophobic tab.

So there you have it, hopefully this helps clear a few things up.

Rafayel

Prince Eric - The Little Mermaid

I mean…come on. Just the deep cut white shirt is enough for me to make this comparison. But I think the sparkle in Eric’s eyes whenever he sees Ariel is mirrored in Rafayel. Plus, there’s a big theme of rebelliousness in The Little Mermaid, which applies to Rafayel’s myth in the way he gives up his homeland for MC. The oceans, the mermaids, the artsy undertones - very Rafayel coded.

Xavier

Prince Phillip - Sleeping Beauty

A man of few words, but a man very much in love. “Once Upon a Dream”? Yeah, Xavier coded for sure. The secret princess hidden away in a garden? Yup. Prince Phillip is just very regal, and I can see Xavier being the same way. He just has this very calming, serene vibe to him that I see in Xavier. Plus, the willingness to dive head first into danger to protect his princess.

Zayne

The Beast - Beauty and The Beast

I’m really pulling from Foreseer when I say this. A cursed man, locked away in his castle who only begins to soften when a girl - the girl - finds him. The harsh, cold exterior begins to fade away. She’s not afraid of him, but rather curious about him. Only when he realizes just how special she is to him does he challenge the curse put on him. Very Zayne.

Sylus

Dimitri - Anastasia

Okay, this is loose but hear me out. Disney didn’t originally create Anastasia, but they own the rights to it now, so I’m saying this is valid. Go with it. Dimitri is somewhat of a criminal, digging around in the shadows of Saint Petersburg. The banter, the sarcasm, the slow building and silent tension - definitely Sylus. Their sweet moments are everything. The boat scene with Anastasia’s nightmare? The first time he sees her in her dress for the opera? I feel like that has Sylus written all over it.

Caleb

Flynn Rider - Tangled

“They just can’t get my nose right!” Some shit Caleb would say. The personalities are just very similar. There’s a slight underlying protectiveness in Flynn, too - mentioning taking Rapunzel back to the tower several times before they make it to the kingdom. The lantern scene? Jesus christ, the yearning is so Caleb coded. Then fighting off the guards, aggressively questioning the twins as to Rapunzel’s whereabouts, sacrificing himself to save her? Caleb.

So I've recently got into Love and Deepspace and I've only now been dipping my toes into the fandom. But since it is Halloween I got the idea of what kind of costumes the guys would wear with MC.

(A lot of this is just based off of initial vibes and what I so far know about their characters so take these with a grain of salt if you don't think they fit.) And maybe comment what couples costumes you'd think they'd dress in.

The interview took place in Stockholm, Sweden on 2 Oct 2011 [the same day of the AIMH tweet] and it was published in the November 2011 issue. QX is a monthly magazine published in Swedish by the largest LGBTQIA-media publisher in Scandinavia, with a circulation of 31,000 copies and it's distributed free of charge.

Förra hösten blev de fem brittiska grabbarna flickfavoriter i Storbritanniens tv-succé X Factor. Nu börjar (fr. v) Louis, Harry, Niall, Zayn och Liam erövra världen med snygg boybandspop som producerats av samma svenskar som såg till att Britney, Backstreet Boys, Westlife och N*Sync blev världsstjärnor.

Last autumn, the five British lads became all-time favourites on the UK's hit TV show X Factor. Now (from left) Louis, Harry, Niall, Zayn and Liam are set to conquer the world with stylish boyband pop, produced by the same Swedes who made Britney, Backstreet Boys, Westlife and N*Sync global stars.

Samtidigt som jag träffar One Direction på Nobis Hotell i Stockholm håller tusen unga tjejer på att storma Bengans skivaffär i stan. Allt för att komma över svarta platsband som ger dem tillträde till en fanträff med det brittiska pojkbandet senare samma eftermiddag. One Direction har knappt släppt en singel i Sverige men lyckas ändå skapa hysteri värdig vilket stort boyband som helst. Och det bara genom att folk hittat dem på twitter och youtube. Killarnas tid i brittiska musiktävlingen X-Factor har nämligen genererat miljontals träffar på video- sajten, och när de nu ska släppa debutsingeln What Makes You Beautiful.

While I'm meeting One Direction at Nobis Hotel in Stockholm, a thousand young girls are storming Bengan's record shop in town. All in order to get their hands on black place cards that give them access to a fan meeting with the British boy band later that afternoon. One Direction has barely released a single in Sweden but still manages to create hysteria worthy of any big boy band. And that's only because people found them on Twitter and YouTube. The guys' time at the British music competition X-Factor has generated millions of hits on the video site, and now they are about to release their debut single What Makes You Beautiful.

"Det är mest twitter tror jag, man länkar och tipsar varandra där. Om One Direction trendar på twitter i Storbritannien blir folk i andra länder nyfikna och kollar upp vad det är för nåt, och sen är det i rullning", gissar Zayn. Redan i somras när kvintetten var här och spelade in med bland annat med pro- ducenten Rami (Backstreet Boys, Britney, Westlife) blev det hysteri utanför studion i centrala Stockholm. "Mottagandet i Sverige har alltid varit otroligt", säger Liam. Harry fortsätter: "Sverige är ju helt fantastiskt musikmässigt och därför är det extra kul att få uppmärksamhet här. Ni har ju så många bra låtskrivare och artister som kommer härifrån. Jag älskar Swedish House Mafia till exempel. Och under tiden i X-Factor sjöng vi en Darin-låt." "Jag såg Eric Saade i Eurovision i våras och han var otrolig bra. Han ser ut som en popstjärna och hade en bra låt så det var kul att det gick bra för honom", säger Niall.

"I think it's mostly Twitter, people link and tip each other off there. If One Direction is trending on Twitter in the UK, people in other countries get curious and look up what's up, and then it's on", Zayn guesses. Already last summer, when the quintet was here and recorded with, among others, the producer Rami (Backstreet Boys, Britney, Westlife), there was a frenzy outside the studio in central Stockholm.

"The reception in Sweden has always been incredible," Liam says. Harry continues: "Sweden is absolutely fantastic in terms of music, so it's extra fun to get attention here. You have so many good songwriters and artists who come from here. I love Swedish House Mafia, for example. And during our time in X-Factor we sang a Darin song." "I saw Eric Saade at Eurovision this spring and he was incredibly good. He looks like a pop star and had a good song, so it was great that he did well," Niall says.

QX: Nyligen toppade ni Englandslistan och ni syns pryda varenda poptidning som finns. Kan ni ens gå ut i Storbritannien? "Ja, det är lättare att gå ut där än här i Sverige. Där vet vi var vi ska gå, och det är egentligen bara att ta lite bilder då och då. Så hysteriskt är det inte", förklarar Zayn. "Däremot kanske vi inte går ut i ett shoppingcenter nära en skola där de precis har rast, då kan det bli hysteri", skrattar Liam. One Direction sökte till X-Factor som soloartister men blev ihopsatta av Idol/X- factor-mannen Simon Cowell. Han såg snabbt potential i en ung killgrupp och efter att få hänga ihop och bara ha kul utan att behöva jobba så hittade killarna sina roller i gruppen. Under hela X-Factorserien låg de stadigt i toppen. De slutade på en tredjeplats i finalen som sågs av nästan var tredje brittiskt tv-tittare. "Det var en besvikelse att inte vinna", medger Liam och får medhåll av de andra. "Men nu har vi gått vidare och Matt (Cardle) som vann är en fantastisk kille som förtjänade vinsten."

QX: You recently topped the UK charts and you're on the cover of every pop magazine out there. Can you even go out in the UK?

"Yes, it's easier to go out there than here in Sweden. In the UK we know where to go, and it's really just a few photos now and then. It's not that hysterical," explains Zayn.

"However, we might not go out in a shopping centre near a school where they're on a school break, then there could be hysteria," laughs Liam.

One Direction applied for the X-Factor as solo artists, but were put together by Idol/X-Factor judge Simon Cowell. He quickly saw potential in a young group of guys and after hanging out together and just having fun without having to work, the guys found their roles in the group. Throughout the X-Factor series, they were consistently at the top. They finished third in the final, which was watched by almost one in every third British viewer.

"It was disappointing not to win," Liam admits, and the others agree. "But now we've moved on, and Matt (Cardle), who won, is a great bloke who deserved to win."

After the release of their single What Makes You Beautiful, the boys performed at the classic gay bar G-A-Y [which is inside/the co-venue of the gay/queer nightclub Heaven] in London, and of course the place was packed. "Yes, it was a crazy night. It was an incredible vibe and a really fun atmosphere to play in," Zayn recalls. QX: Are you aware that you have gay fans? "Sometimes you see guys tweeting that they fancy us. But other than that, we haven't been playing live/out on the road much. It's mostly the girls who are visible and heard when we're out doing promotion." [it's not explicitly stated who said this] QX: Which of you is the most popular with gay guys? "Zayn and Louis!" Harry and Liam say to each other. "Yeah, that's probably true, I don't know why, but I seem to attract gay guys," Zayn smiles. "It's because of his cheekbones!" Harry shouts.

"But we're not saying you're gay, just that you're the most likely to come out," Liam explains. "Oh, well, I can play doubles, that's fine by me," Harry offers. QX: Who spends the most time in front of the mirror? "Zayn" - everyone agrees, even Zayn himself.

QX: Who is the best kisser in the band? "I'd probably kiss Harry," Liam laughs. "Yeah, Harry is probably the best kisser", Zayn agrees, so do Niall and Louis. QX: Who spends the most money on clothes? "Zayn." Again, everyone agrees. "I just like brand/designer clothes", Zayn excuses himself. QX: Who is most popular with the girls? "Harry." Everyone agrees again. "We all have different types of fans, and Harry is the one who draws the most in general." [not explicitly said who said this] QX: Who looks best naked? "I've only seen Harry naked", Louis excuses himself. "I'd say we all look pretty good naked. We're a bunch of cute guys," Zayn smiles.
