Overdue info dump/reference sheet on my stupid fartsy pantsy lotf au (I call it ‘Lord of the Flies if William Golding Locked the Fuck in’ or, ‘Locked In Au’ for short 🤗) please be nice to me

Misc infodump that’s more to do with world building/designs ⬇️

Designs:

Not everything is particularly “set in stone”, these are kinda rough designs I’ve been working on. They might change in the future- might not. But that’s okay! I tried to make them distinct and more realistic, unfortunately my art style comes from drawing anime characters all my life so that didn’t really work out. Please think that Jack is ugly… my friend says that I made everyone conventionally attractive and I did not mean to- please think Maurice and Jack are ugly I’m begging. Also I’m aware Piggy is a bit thinner than he’s meant to be… I’m working on it. Hopefully the more I draw him, the more weight accurate he’ll be.

Also I’m keeping the heights in inches. Fuck you, I love my country 🇲🇾🇲🇾🇲🇾🇲🇾🇲🇾🇲🇾🦅🦅🦅🦅💥💥💥💥

World Building:

This is an au where their little plane didn’t crash and they took a trip to America for a choir show! Other kids besides the choir got to go on for good behavior/good grades. That’s where they all met and they all became friends :3 I am very boring, and enjoy slices of lives. I only wish for them to have a simple life living in late 1950s Britain and going to boarding school with each other.

headcanon that sam and eric are russian and will call each other “брат” (which means “brother” in both russian and ukrainian) and since брат sounds like “brat” everyone on the isjand just assumes they call each other brats and they’ve just go with it

OH MY GOD I FOUND MY OLD FUCIDING LOTF ART FROM WHEN I WAS STILL READING THE BOOK BUT ALMOST DONE W IT BUT OH MY GODDD MY ROGERS OLD DESIGN.

They are in chronological order. Also w the Simon and Roger one I hc that they’re family friends as well as neighbors but Roger rarely speaks back to him so all the conversations are a low key one sided 😭and everyone else thinks simons kinda weird so Simon sticks to him . I also hc Simons like. Weirdly psychic. And no one ever believes him. It just feels in character. Oh btw Perkins is some made up kid probably in simons grade or something idk it just sounded british😭😭

SAM AND ERIC NEVER WORE FACE PAINT !!

It's a commen mistake found in the adaptations and fan art but they never wore it. They were never part of the hunters they where simply hostages who where used to find and kill Ralph. Them not having face paint is the reason why Ralph went up to them at Castel Rock and why he thought he still had a chance and them going with him. It might not seem like that big of a detail but it is really important for the story.

here’s how I imagined some lotf characters while reading!!

in actuality, some of their hair maybe should be longer. Also I’m not sure they really look 12 in this, but drawing tweens is difficult. you get the idea!

Lord of the Flies Characters on a school trip

(I got home from my trip yesterday so I think this is appropriate)

Ralph: eats everyone’s leftovers, is always at the front of the group, comforts everyone who misses home

Jack: hogs the bathroom just to sing, packs literally everything, talks to the others about the cute German guy he saw

Simon: has a ton of medication to bring, is dragged to the front of the group by Ralph, the pickiest eater

Piggy: is at the back of the group as he can’t keep up because of his asthma, sleeps on any transport they take to get anywhere, misses home

Roger: gets stopped at airport security, gets no sleep whatsoever and lives off energy drinks despite the teachers banning them, wears pretty much the same clothes everyday

Sam and Eric: make ur mom jokes every five seconds, buy the wackiest souvenirs, have snacks for everyone at all times

Maurice: gets lost at least once, is always late for group meetings, his hotel room gets a noise complaint
