Sometimes I remember my super cool Lotf time travel au that I never wrote where the first ship they saw when the fire was out was actually Ralph from the future trying to go back in time to stop Simon and Piggy from being killed but he couldn’t find the island because the fire was out causing the chain of events of his younger self getting mad at Jack for letting the fire out

So him going back in time to save Simon and Piggy is actually what caused them to die in the first place….
