My relationship with Victor Frankenstein as character has probably had the funniest progression of all of them because i first read Frankenstein back in high-school and I was a MASSIVE creature apologist (his vibes are Sephiroth-adjacent so I was immediately down bad) and so I just hated Victor's guts. Made all the deadbeat dad jokes and everything. Then last semester I wrote one of my final papers all at once in a fugue state and when I looked at it the next day, it was just revolting to me. I could not fathom that my own hands had created something so foul and in that instant I vividly remember thinking "Oh. So this is how he felt."

And now I respect Victor Frankenstein. If that paper came to life and tried to talk to me I'd probably want it dead as well. I wouldn't say I'm a Victor apologist but I am a Victor I-get-it-dude-ist. Yeah it was wrong of him to just let the creature walk into the night and take responsibility for it, but within the last several weeks I've spent full days fighting back tears and at one point got an agonizing stomachache due to the paralyzing fear and indecision I had regarding how to handle the end of the semester so. Yeah man I get it. Stay in bed a little longer if you have to, we gotta pad out the year the creature spends with the Delacies anyway
