S1E1: "Wolf Moon"

The Wolf Moon in 2011 was on January 19th. The episode starts on the Sunday night before it, January 14th. That was the day Scott's life changed forever.

I rewatched this episode and tried to stay as objective as possible. I already know what I think. I wanted to observe it and see maybe from a new perspective, see what others might see. I mean, I'm still going to feel how I feel, but I might get a new angle or lens to view it through.

In the beginning, Scott is getting ready for school the next day, specifically lacrosse practice. He tells Stiles he wants to make the first line, he wants to play, he wants to be different this year. Perhaps he wants to be more popular, more visible, more appreciated.

Stiles mentions the body in the woods, and he wants to go find the "other half". The question I end up asking myself is, why did Scott agree to go, because he complained the whole time. Maybe he just did it for the sake of his friendship. In the end, Scott made a choice to go with Stiles when he didn't have to. Despite the fact that, as Scott brings up, they don't know which half of the body they're looking for, and the killer could still be in the woods. It was dangerous. He acknowledges that, but he still went. Then again, Stiles said that Scott always complains that nothing happens in that town. So, maybe Scott really was intrigued and wanted to go despite his complaints. He let Stiles take him there.

Stiles made a very questionable decision to put them into that situation, and clearly didn't think it through properly, but Scott went right along with him. Then, when Stiles was discovered by his dad, the Sheriff, he made the decision not to "tell on" Scott and not reveal he was there, so he didn't get in trouble. He unknowingly put Scott in a vulnerable position. But there was a moment when Sheriff gave Scott a chance to respond, thinking he had to be there. Scott decided not to reveal himself, he choose not to get in trouble, unknowingly putting himself in danger. Because we all know what happened in those woods.

Scott explains what happened to Stiles after he left the night before. Stiles tried to dismiss that Scott heard wolves because he knows there's no wolves in California. But, while Stiles felt a bit dismissive and gaslighting, Scott still knows what he experienced, he's not swayed.

He meets Allison and falls into puppy love.

He notices all the changes in himself and just takes it all in stride. He prefers to see it as a good thing, a boost to help him in lacrosse and get the girl.

But as Stiles starts to put it together, Scott doesn't want to hear it. While Stiles is concerned for his best friend and wants to help, Scott attacks him. Scott immediately apologized, twice, as soon as he saw how brutal he was with Stiles. But he somehow didn't acknowledge that there was an issue, or even pause to rethink his plans. He just feels that Stiles is trying to hold him back. And perhaps there is an element of that. Maybe Stiles is afraid he's going to lose his friend as he becomes more popular for being good at lacrosse. It was already acknowledged that Scott didn't always respond to Stiles, with the mention in the beginning. Stiles went to Scotts' house because Scott didn't answer the phone, when Scott was only hanging out in his room, no reason not to answer his phone for Stiles. Maybe there is a legitimate concern on Stiles' part. Maybe Scott is just projecting.

The introduction of Derek is interesting. It is incredibly obvious that they [writers, director, JD] want you to think that Derek is a bad guy. They wardrobed him in all black and a leather jacket. They placed him in the woods while Scott and Stiles were looking for Scott's inhaler. The boys were even talking about the body, and how the killer might've moved it. Then, Derek steps out as if on cue. He warns them off the private property.

Stiles identifies the man, and, in my opinion, seems a bit in awe of him. Stiles knows his backstory, who he is, what happened to him, how old he is, vaguely. He clearly knows things, keeps his finger on the pulse because his dad is the Sheriff. Maybe there's another reason he knows so much about Derek and his case.

I get why many people were suspicious of Derek. He was made to feel suspicious. Later, when Scott sees him at the party, out of sight, he recognizes Derek's behavior, how he's able to calm a dog, like Scott did previously. He puts it together that Derek is "like him". But the dark way that Derek was presented made him think werewolf=bad. He thinks that since Derek is a werewolf and he keeps hanging around, and he hasn't met any other werewolves that Derek must've been the one to bite him. He thinks Derek is the one trying to ruin his life. By picking up Allison, he thinks Derek is trying to "target" Scott.

While I know now, in hindsight, that Derek was trying to protect Scott, as he illustrated by saving him from hunters, I can definitely see why some thought Derek was the big bad guy. He was meant to look that way. This show revolves around Scott, most of it is in his own perspective. He is an unreliable narrator because he only sees at his level of understanding.

Scott's motivations are exactly that of an normal teenager; date the girl, get on the team, become popular. He has the normal level of teenage egotism.

Stiles' motivations, besides Lydia Martin, are to support his friend, even if it's to protect him from himself. He's the first one to put a name to what was happening, even if he was just joking, he figured it out. And when it turned out it wasn't a joke anymore, he immediately went until research mode for his friend. He needs to protect him, so he arms himself with knowledge to help in the best way he knows how.

We see the beginnings of Allison thinking that experiencing emotions makes you weak. I wonder where she got that misbelief from.

I will also admit that Derek not immediately denying that he bit Scott definitely didn't win him any prizes. And I can see where some people draw the conclusion that Derek is on the spectrum because he's not very good at connecting with people, which is a known quirk of autism. Or maybe it's because he's a different species who communicates differently. Maybe it's trauma. All valid points.

Another observation that comes as no shock to anyone, Lydia is focused only on elevating her status. A complete social climber, who even eyed up Scott as a prospect after he knocked Jackson down a peg.

And Jackson, of course, wants to be the best. He wants the attention. He wants people to look at him as if he's better because he wants to be better, feel better than other people. It gives him a sense of importance.

All of them pretty typical teenagers so far.

far more compelling for me than the fact that narrators can time-travel is the reason WHY narrators can time-travel. in-universe acknowledgement of "nothing in their universe exists outside of the things that are 'on mic'". if it isn't in an episode, it didn't actually happen. that's an actual rule that exists in the story. it has been canonized.

the stamatis's parents never spent a second alive. gemma and charlotte never actually had their wedding. every single character has only existed as far back as their flashbacks can throw them. and that's IF they have flashbacks! flashbacks are not common! leon dragging michael out of the bar didn't get a flashback, so it didn't happen! like not in just the implicit way that applies to all characters in all stories, that's an in-universe rule!

but what's really getting me is this:

greater boston starts with leon killing himself. it starts because he kills himself. the foundation of the story is leon's death on the roller coaster. that's why everything else happens. leon's death makes something in their strange world into a story worth telling. the story is the only medium through which their world is allowed to exist.

leon's death is what brought their world into existence.

or, fun reversal, the world was created SO leon could die in it, which would then create a story intriguing enough to justify the existence of the rest of the world.

Update time for some good ol' Teen Wolf, ig? i'm on episode 7 of season 2, and now I am definitely seeing some clips that i saw that was making me interested in the show as well as aspects within the fandom spaces.

Never understood the whole idea of Pack mom Stiles thing until I saw Stiles basically be the first to clock that 1, she is in seizure, 2, she may have an issue with the kanima venom (more than others) and 3, to be able to help her he needs to go to Derek cause Scott defo doesn't know. I didn't see it in the beginning, but I can see what people are seeing in it.

Another aspect, Stiles predicting Matt as the villain was such a rewarding scene. Mainly because I have been spoiled, I don't mind them, sometimes I actively look for them to see how the writers handle certain characters plus a summary isn't always true to what actually happened depending on interpretations.

You know what wasn't? Stiles' dad not being told. Or Melissa. Can these two be in on it now? Please? I'm mildly done with the charades on both ends mainly because the friction between two parties is simply miscommunication, plus it would be interesting to have Stiles' be open to this now so that we can see more of a struggle for the Stilinski family when the Sheriff *carries on* heading into danger when he knows. Same with Melissa, I think it would help create more stakes, but it will needed to be handled with care, that she can notice when a patient might have been involved with the supernatural which she can tell the sheriff. It'll make a good feedback loop for the adults, me thinks.

Onto Scott and Alison, I am noticing the writers are now ramping up a more heaviness to their relationship. This is no longer about puppy love but genuine wanting to carry on together, on both ends. And the touch with Jackson being used as the mouthpiece of the writers to foreshadow something more sinister lurking within Alison's future and her decisions. I honestly can not wait for Alison's either degression or progression as a character, as an aspiring writer who likes to study stories of any kind, I would have her digress to create a more nuance version of her character especially with her and Scott creating friction between each other. The friction I'm talking about is Alison's fear of being truly hopeless, unable to actually help herself out of a situation, this could be due to her being raised to be independent and to be a leader within the Argents. Scott on the other hand has a total Hero Complex, wanting to save as many people as possible, yada yada (mild affection now, he's grown on me), wants to be there for Alison *always* which contradicts Alison's want of independence.

Derek, so far, has been following a characterisation I would do for him (after that abysmal training set) cautious and careful with his betas, almost paranoid about their safety with mild disregard for his own in time of the full moon. I would like to see more Boyd though, you have an entire episode on him, and he doesn't get to appear in that scene??? BS, I want Boyd, Erica and Isaac have a moment of annoyance at Derek for being so careful with them. Would I have Derek explain to them why he's so cautious? Not fully, no, I would have Derek explain simply "I am your leader, I look after you and train you. And I need to look after you by ensuring you don't get caught between the Kamina and the Hunters."

Let Derek be a vague, paranoidly responsible Alpha that noticed that his first method didn't help for shit and changing the curriculum for these three because Scott's training was a *mess* and not some fucking dictator alpha guy. But knowing the writing team they most likely will mishandle Derek's character like a child given a machete in the garden which is disappointing.

That's all I got so far, but enjoy my ranting about what happened so far.

Btw, I see something very intriguing about the episode today.

1. Moon seems to trust Sun a lot, compared with someone who never shares anything with Sun in the past.

Okay, it's kinda hard to explain but the way I see it, Moon and Sun truly are twins. They understand each other in the deepest level and without saying anything, they still find some way to know what each other wants in some of these important moments.

We both know Sun understands Moon a lot. About what he thinks, how he works... Sun might not know about all of Moon's secrets, but it doesn't stop him from knowing exactly how his siblings feel or think in the present moment. (Like how Sun predicted that Nexus might hurt Freddy, or how Moon has a lot of back ups, or Moon's code...)

But, we forget that Moon also knows a lot of what Sun thinks. (Maybe not as much on an emotional level, but still)

That is why Moon knows Sun was lying to him about killing BM, that is why despite all the bulls Moon put Sun through, he still knows the exact words that make Sun forgive and forgive him again and again. And that's why, Moon locks Sun in the invisible cage, because Moon knows Sun will snap out of it later.

(Still not justified Moon's actions though, Moon still treats Sun like crap and gives Sun tons of trauma. But what I try to say is why Moon did that. Because in some ironic nasty mental state Moon is at, Moon subconsciously thinks Sun as invincible, the one despite everything, would never break down.)

And that is why, though Moon downgrades Sun's intelligence a lot in the past, he always counts on Sun when it comes to saving him. Moon knows what Sun's capable of, and is not afraid to use it for his own advantage.

(making Sun learn magic in the shortest ever time that I have seen to kill Eclipse v1; predict Sun will lose control and Eclipse come out to kill the Guards, never doubt Sun can kill BM, just shock that he lied to him; and the newest event, Sun saves Moon from Creator without they two even interact. )

Different from Nexus, who seems like little brother for Sun to me, who only asks Sun for help because there is no other choice.

He doesn't understand boundaries when it comes to pranking much (joking about Roxane Wolf, pushing Sun go to speed date, nonchalant sometimes about Sun's hallucinations,...);

He is kinda co-dependent with Sun when it comes to emotions levels (Almost spilled the bean that he wants to sacrifice someone for Solar, saying Sun is the light of his life, almost hesitant when Sun says he disappointed at him, seemingly only care it would hurt Sun's feeling when Sun and Moon move to the new house, asking Dark Sun to be his brother,...) and feels the need to protect Sun from everything. (Working with Solar instead of Sun, taking charge of the last blast that killed Eclipse v2, believing Sun will hurt himself for some sacrifices nonsense, care more about Sun's feeling and health than Nexus would ever be.)

Sun also takes care of Nexus more compared to Moon. (Take care of Nexus since day 1 he wakes up. Always stay on Nexus's side when they get yeet into Ruin's dimension. Knowing Nexus has some problems, and ask it indirectly without any information that tell Nexus has gone mad. (Earth has Eclipse to inform her, Monty has caught it red handed, only Sun who doesnt know anything, feel like something went wrong.)

With Nexus, it feels weird. Like there still has some disconnected between them, like they are not synced together. Sometimes because Sun gets caught too soon, sometimes because they are separated. Most of the time when they stay together, it is surprising that while Nexus is the smarter in the duo, Sun usually takes charge of talking (Eclipse v2, Ruin Monty, Creator..). And that is why it makes me feel bad because it seems like Nexus works better with Solar.

And with Moon, Sun has done a lot of dirty work for Moon, both when they were shared the same body and when they are separated. Sun is truly the brawn while Moon is the brain. Sadly that Even though they know they care about each other, They rather die than say it in others' faces, which leads to them only saying things like 'i love you brother' when they almost die. They are totally in sync with each other, and I think these are some interesting things to notice.

2. Creator seems like Sun more than Moon, although he downgrades Sun a lot.

From all the people l, I noticed that only Sun Creator never threatened to kill him. (Earth, KC, Lunar, Solar... Sure but never Sun.)

He straight up re-programmed KC when he turned good, he threatened to hurt Earth because she got in his way and didn't listen to him anymore. He wants to dismantle Lunar and seeing Eclipse like a annoying flies that he didnt pay attention too much. And today, he almost straight up killed Moon if not because of Sun.

Something strange about how with Sun, Creator always talks about how others would get hurt if Sun doesn't do what he says but not him threatened to kill Sun, not in a single episode.

(One when Creator trapped to forced checked Sun's code; and one when today.)

We can see In the episode today, due to Creator 's speeches, Moon is the one un-finished. I think in the start Creator only wants to create Sun with the KC but then he realizes Sun getting too smart may be out of control for him, so he separates the AIs into 2.

Because when Creator seemingly talks bad a lot about Sun, he just straight up doesn't care about Moon. He thinks of Moon as some obedient tools that he created and easily disposed of when it causes too much trouble. He usually called Moon as a violent beast, something can't control.

But with Sun, he seems to take some unexplained interest in him. Not in the way he can use Sun for something, but in some strange father and son relationship.

Don't believe me, okay, let me explain.

Creator called Sun's cats as his grandsons. Creator like trolling Sun because he likes seeing Sun squirm. Creator helped Sun when Moon got yeet in the portal.

(It may be because Creator has some hidden plans for Moon, but it still does not explain why he said Sun was lucky because Creator gave him a family. )

Furthermore, Creator checked Sun but not Nexus. He seems to like to interact with Sun more than Moon, and says that only because Sun is more easily manipulated and weaker than Moon.

But we both know that is not true. Sun is not afraid of Creator. Sun sasses him more times than I can tell. And he also has not threatened Creator once, but twice and maybe third times. He is also really good at reading Creator's intention, and can ask him some questions that really hit the chest and make Creator have to go away.

The relationship between their two is really interesting because it seems like to some degree, subconsciously, Creator truly thinks of Sun as his son, or at least, someone too value to be disposed of right now.

And sure, Moon has Creator's biggest ego and his intelligence, and Earth, while she is the nicest person that I know, still has a bit of ego and selfishness, (which is good for her thought, have some boundaries for herself) but Sun, I feel like there is more to tell.

Because with people Sun really hated, his tones changed. He does not stutter, or nervous. He speaks slowly, and puts his threat down as a promise and waits to see if the other is going to throw hand first or not. He is also very good at reading people, and can see what others don't see. And things he predicted often turn out to be true. (Like how suspicious that he feels at Evil Earth Dimension while Nexus seems nonchalant)

And with Dark Sun like some twist reflection of a future that Sun no longer cares about anyone. We can see how cold blood and different Sun can be. And how good at reading people and manipulating it for his own advantage Sun can be. Dark Sun and Creator share the same way of thinking, of looking at the big picture, of overlapping plans and projects.

All of these characteristics while it does not feel like they come from Creator, but from his partner, I still think some layers of Sun have Creator's trait in it. That might be the reason why Creator love to see Sun suffer so much but still be concerned if Sun truly dies.

Sidenote: Something is biting Creator's ass right now. Because he seems very eager. Wonder what will happen on July 16th

Silence. Irritating, lonely silence. It reverberated in the ears of Kui Mulang. In any other moment, the air would have been filled with screams—agonized, desperate cries of those whose souls he devoured, savoring their terror with a cruel smile. Yet now, only the oppressive quiet of the throne room surrounded him. A weary, disenchanted sigh escaped his lips. Perhaps he had grown weary of this existence. Was it truly so difficult to find his lost love once more? Had the relentless march of Time claimed her irrevocably? Was he merely clinging to a mirage of hope? No, he could not succumb to doubt. He had ventured too far down this dark path to consider redemption. He must press on.

Thus far, his guards had failed to present any new captives. No souls? Kui Mulang assumed that the denizens of the region had received the warning and chosen to keep their distance. Resolving to take matters into his own hands, he decided upon a solitary stroll beyond the palace walls. None would object, he reasoned. Moreover, it had been some time since he last ventured forth, and the diversion would serve to occupy his restless spirit.

A thought unfurled within his mind. What if he were to find the reincarnation of his beloved wandering about? A solemn sigh escaped him as he made his way toward the palace exit. It was a wild notion, indeed, but not one beyond the realm of possibility. Though it was a chance in a thousand, he would grasp it. Kui Mulang surveyed the palace’s exterior surroundings and commenced his walk along the dirt road, his gaze fixed solemnly ahead.

Memories of the Jade Maiden surfaced: her radiant smile in response to his words, her voice as melodious as a harp, and her laughter—that he missed most. It was her laughter that could banish the oppressive silence of his palace. In truth, he had never regarded that cold and dark palace as a home. Nowhere could he deem a home without her presence.

He had been walking for quite some time now. The moon had ascended higher in the sky since he last glimpsed it. Lost in contemplation during his quiet stroll, he unexpectedly encountered a river. How peculiar—it seemed unfamiliar to him. Could his memory of the outside world be fading? No, he must simply have overlooked it before. The demon approached the riverbank, determining it was an decent place to pause and rest briefly. Yet, from the corner of his lavender eyes, he detected a movement…or was it a figure?

He tensed, squinting at the disturbance in the water. It might have been a mere fish, but few fish boasted scales so elongated. Kui Mulang called out, his voice tinged with both curiosity and a chilling edge.

“Who lurks there? Reveal yourself, or face... consequences.”

He was greeted by the sound of splashing—yes, unmistakably splashing, farther downstream. Stealthily and with great caution, he traced the source of the sound, and his eyes widened at the sight before him. There you were, a demon resembling a koi fish. Your fins and scales cascaded elegantly, reminiscent of flowing robes in hues of white and sunset orange. He was struck with astonishment. What manner of power did you possess? Who were you, truly?

"You appear troubled. But fear not. I'm y/n, and you must be the owner of the palace not far from here," you said, your smile warm and kind.

He was taken aback. His guards had never mentioned finding you, and if they had, they certainly hadn't brought you to the palace. Your smile seemed innocent, brimming with joy. He felt an urge to shatter your soul and consume it on the spot, yet found himself unable to proceed. Why? Not even a cruel demon like him could answer that question.

“Are you aware of the fact that I could kill you right now?”

“Of course.”

“But you won’t run- or, well, swim away?”

“If you were going to harm me, you would’ve done so already.”

The wolf demon had paused, contemplating your words. You were correct, he realized. He could have struck the moment he spotted movement in the water. Even if you were merely another demon, he couldn't fathom why he had refrained from devouring your soul. Was it because you reminded him of... her? No, that couldn't be. You could never be the Jade Maiden, despite the unsettling resemblance in your smile and the way your fins and tail resembled her elegant attire. The parallels were uncanny.

“Are you aware of who I am? Truly, do you know my name, or what I have done besides being the cause of demise for the creatures in the area?”

“…I was planning on asking you the same. You feel like a stranger I’ve crossed paths with before. Many times, in fact.”

Kui Mulang took a surprised step forward, disguising it with a throat-clearing cough. It all seemed too good to be true. You didn't appear to remember him entirely, but there were hints of familiarity in your manner. Even one memory would be enough. If you truly didn't recall... he would gladly bring you back to the palace and assist you in any way he could. Hope surged within him, albeit tinged with desperation. Part of him wished you would deny knowing him at all, so he could get rid of this false hope and consume your soul. Yet, it felt like you were being sincere. And that genuinely frightened him. Fear gripped him—the fear of losing the Jade Maiden, of losing what he had just found.

With utmost gentleness, he took your hands in his and gazed into your eyes. He detected a hint of surprise in your expression as your hands rested in his grasp, along with a touch of fluster. He whispered softly in your ear, his voice slightly hesitant yet filled with hope, “Who was I to you in those memories?”

“…you were someone that I felt like I cared about, it felt like I loved you. Isn’t that strange?”

A small, hesitant smile crept onto his face as he suddenly enveloped you in his arms, drawing you close in a tight embrace, indifferent to his robes becoming damp from the river. He almost felt as though he were hallucinating from the sheer joy of the moment. Closing his eyes, he buried his head against your shoulder.

“Dearest, I could never think it was strange…”

“It still seems surprising, of course.”

“Ah, still as humorous as ever, I see.”

This one is the Syaoran twins from Holitsuba. I didn't realize this before, but in the line post, the twins were called '小龍と小狼', which means one would be Xiaolang (Syaoran) or 'little wolf' and the other one would be called Xiaolong (Syaoron) or 'little dragon' in both Chinese and Japanese.

Syaoron = Xiaolong = 小龍: 小= small, little 龍= dragon, especially a Chinese dragon

Syaoran = Xiaolang = 小狼: 小= small, little 狼= wolf

I ultimately respect the AbiMel plot, but these two were literally Right There. Excellent chemistry from moment one and they perfectly mirrored each other with Macy as a witch with demon blood (struggling with darkness) and Abigael as a demon with witch blood (struggling to accept lightness). To think of what could have been with the two of them and the acceptance of good and bad and the whole complex mess of the self makes me insaneeee

2) Nicky Shen x Zhilan Zhang (Zhicky) - Kung Fu CW

Idek what to say their dynamic was just so fun and watching them begrudgingly grow close was chef's kiss.

3) Eve Polastri x Villanelle (Villaneve) - Killing Eve

Literally THE enemies to lovers imho. What more do I need to say? Eve said seduction into my darkness? Yes please. Villanelle said feel emotions for one (1) woman and obsess over her? Okay. They're enemies AND lovers. They've both tried to kill each other. So? They get each other like no one else. No one's doing it like them

4) Scott McCall x Theo Raeken (Sceo) - Teen Wolf

Sorry but I'm clawing at the walls, gnawing on my hands, howling at the moon over them. Exploring all the tension and the guilt and the fear and the longing is delicious. And the layer of long-lost friends? The subtle seduction into trust and the mutual destruction on Theo's part? Sorry I'm crazy about it sorry.

5) Mona Vanderwaal x Spencer Hastings (Vanderstings/Spemona?) - Pretty Little Liars

Somebody in this fandom needs to tell me right meow why they're not a bigger thing??? Quintessential 'they hate each other's guts but no one matches their freak better'. Throw Hanna in the mix and that's the perfect formulation, but they hold their own on enemies-to-lovers grounds sooooooo well.

6) Raven Reyes x John Murphy (Murven) - The 100

Truth be told they're not my top ship for each other BUT they are the epitome of enemies to friends (to lovers). Some of the best relationship development I can think of.

7) Bonnie Bennett x Nora Hildegard (Bonnora) - The Vampire Diaries

Literally why were they not a thing? Bonenzo ily but look at them! They had such a fun little antagonistic flirty thing and Nora was canonically crushing on Bonnie. All I want is queer Bonnie and I was so close to having it

8) Kitty Covey x Yuri Han (Kitturi) - XO Kitty

Kitty literally took one look at rival Yuri making music and crossed that thin line from hate to love. Girl was like "I will take this Angry tension and transform it into Sexual tension" and I respect that

9) Kathani "Kate" Sharma x Anthony Bridgerton (Kanthony) - Bridgerton

I've only watched one full episode and seen random bits here and there but I'm obsessed with her and I'm obsessed with them. Literally scene one I was all in. They are the bane of my existence and the object of all my desires

10) Luke Alvez x Penelope Garcia (Garvez) - Criminal Minds

I missed Morgan as much as the next guy, but Penelope and Luke's banter and chemistry is unmatched. Shame on the new seasons for lying to me and saying they went on a date but didn't have the same chemistry, that is such Bull

So, I'm watching Teen Wolf, mainly because I wanna know why it was so popular and check out the supernatural elements. To no one's surprise, my faves are Stiles and Derek.

Stiles because of his sarcasm but also him looking at a problem and actively looking into it while Scott kinda just vibes anxiously with new abilities. Derek is also my fave because of the amount of confused trying with what he knows works but clearly unable to properly communicate it, plus him actively look at the problem as well and going "how tf do I deal with this?"

Scott isn't exactly my fave, I don't find him relatable due to him just looking around and not figuring much out on his own. I dont mind him as a mc, but I as a person doesnt find him relatable.

Because personally, if I was given his powers I would focus on how the fuck it works? what could trigger it other than the full moon? why the fuck is anger a trigger? Would other emotions, in excess, like fear or joy also trigger a transformation? Is there a reason why I feel a kinship with the person that gave me the power? Does this kinship translate into a potential power dynamic? If so, can they control my transformation or how I deal with it?

Like Scott, up to episode 7 (in season 1), doesn't know what the fuck is happening and Stiles and Derek are there like "Okay, we know anger can trigger a transformation, high heart rate could explain why the anger is a transformation factor, we know there is super senses and strength and agility, we know that there are weaknesses and people that hunt Werewolves down" and Scott kinda just takes it and doesn't process it for the next ten minutes because Alison is on the brain.

I like characters that are quick on the uptake, they fuck up from time to time, and they look at the problem again to see what the fuck they are missing. And characters that are doing that are Stiles and Derek in the seven episodes I have watched. But Scott is veering onto my dislike list due to "Derek killed everyone" shtick, my dude, that guy is 'training' (it's not good but Derek does know what he is talking about) and last you saw him had holes in the back and could be dead but yeah "Derek killed everyone" is a good idea.

Even stiles thinks that was a shit move and Stiles is scared of Derek in this moment but still doesn't go "yeah, his fault"

I think there is something very funny about how people keep seeing Dark Sun worse than how he perceived himself.

Like sure, Dark Sun is smart, knowledgeable, selfish and self preservation, he tortured his Moon and maybe killed everyone else and did some immoral things off screen. But for real...

Have we seen him really do anything really truly evil or manipulative?

1. This is the same dude that can't even pretend to be himself, to be Sun without people keep recognising him.

Foxy, Nexus, Puppet, Ruin, like they only need to glance at the first sign and immediately go, 'yep, it is not our Sun.'

The only reason why Earth and Lunar fell for his trick was because 1. they haven't met Dark Sun before; and 2. They never thought they would fall for the same trick again after the Goliath thingy. And 3. Dark Sun wasn't too active about going along with his plan and actually played with Earth and Lunar a little bit.

And with Eclipse and Lord Eclipse because well, Eclipses always look down at Suns.

Because when I look back at Sun and Dark Sun's acting, they are literally the same. They both jump too quickly into their needs, their language bodies are too stiff, they are both making people feel like something was wrong about them but they couldn't tell what it is.

Like how Sun pretends to be Ruin, Monty could feel something very wrong but they didn't know why. Or when Dark Sun pretends to be Servant Sun, Lord Eclipse catches his of guard about the things he said but doesn't react to it. (LORD Eclipse never told Servant Sun to stop moving when Lord Eclipse kills him.)

Both of them, Sun and Dark Sun, only succeed in their acting because people usually look down or not pay attention to them. And when people do, they tend to get caught pretty quickly.

2. He totally used Nexus for his own advantage. But to be fair, from what I gather from these episodes, he literally lets Nexus do whatever he likes inside his lab. He pulled the strings to get Nexus to work with him for sure, but it was also the same dude who got pissed because Ruin stomps into his dimension.

He acts the same way Sun did when Moon got reset.

From these first days when Nexus woke up, Sun was the one who handed everything. He knew about Nexus's arm, he knew about the portal's access code...

It is not sudden Sun got smarter. He just has more knowledge than Nexus at that time...

And for someone who manipulated, Dark Sun pretty much just like watching the newest shows before anyone else. Just like he has seen the future... And use it for his own interests.

Sun also did that too, the little manipulative thingy, but only with small inconvenienced things. He lies to Nexus about learning the star power. He brides Lunar to force Moon to go to sleep. He steals money to buy Rocksan Wolf rings or something when he used to crush her. Oh.. and he didn't tell Moon about July 16th...

3. Dark Sun only focused on his goal. We didn't know what it was but he never did anything to harm people outside it.

Like, he totally could harm or kidnap Lunar, but he didn't do that. Or he just killed off Moon, but he didn't. He also kinda pushed Lord Eclipse down to the cliff and did not kill him immediately, with the diaglode the same one when Sun went down the spiral and tried to kill Eclipse.

"I told you, you are going down, right now."

"To remind Every eclipse will fall in the end..."

Sound familiar? Both Dark Sun and Sun said so... When they killed Eclipse. The only difference is that the Sun gets his hand dirty and traumatized, he also falls when doing that task. And Dark Sun succeeded without his hand dirty.

And my favourite part, both Sun and Dark Sun pointed out how miserable and pathetic and stupid Eclipse is and admit they were pretty much thinking too highly about Eclipse.

Dark Sun still has some morals, and that show in the way he doesn't want to dirty his hands, he doesn't want to rule the world or something absolute like that. He just wants to live in peace without anything cross his way.

I love Dark Sun so much and I hope people wouldn't misinterpret him like someone who was cold and cruel and manipulated and abused Nexus while in fact He just flows with the stream and takes manners in the selfish way for himself.

I am begging you, watch Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts.

This show is so slept on, but lemme tell you - it’s good. The show has a plethora of good racial, queer and neurodivergent representation, and it’s just good.

Legit none of the main characters are white. We have Kipo, the main, who is half-Black and half-Korean (ignore her pink skin) and her crew Benson and Wolf, who are both Black. Benson’s love interest is Latino/Asian. In fact, if I’m correct, the most important white character in the entire show is the main antagonist for season 3.  Edit: why the hell did I write black twice.

(Spoilers in this paragraph) A side character, Asher, who is in seasons 2 and 3, is canonically non-binary. I can’t remember if their pronouns are used in-show, but the creator confirmed it on Twitter. On top of this, Benson’s love interest I mentioned? Yeah, his name is Troy, and he’s canonically pansexual. On top of this, Benson actively comes out in an episode where Kipo asks him out; “I like you as a friend...because...I’m gay!” Very sweet episode.

While there are no canonical neurodivergent characters, Kipo is heavily adhd-coded. Wolf has clear trauma from her “family” and the abuse she went through. The show tackles racism (in a way), abandonment, betrayal, found family and healed trauma from families. 

Now the plot. The story is a refreshingly original tale of Kipo, a girl that lived in an underground city her whole life. This is because “the surface” has become overrun by “mutes”, animals that have doubled, tripled, quadrupled or plus in size. They can also think, talk and scheme - and they hate humans. However, when Kipo is thrown to the surface with no hope of getting back home, she has to work with what she’s got - which is a small but angry Wolf and a flaky but loyal Benson. And a whole lot of mutes that would like her head on a stick.

Last thing - the cast is actually pretty star-studded. Kipo is played by Karen Fukuhara (Kimiko Miyashiro, The Boys - Glimmer, She-Ra and the Princesses of Power - Katana, Suicide Squad). Seasons 1 and 2 antagonist Scarlamange is played by Dan Stevens (Matthew Crawley, Downtime Abbey - The Beast, Beauty and the Beast - Alexander Lemtov, Eurovision; the story of Fire Saga). And Dave is played by comedian Deon Cole, who was also in Black-ish at a point. Edit: probably the biggest name, at least to me, is the side character Lemieux, portrayed by Grey Griffin (Azula - Avatar, The Last Airbender, Moon and Jackie - SVTFOE, Ice Queen - Adventure Time, Masha - The Owl House, and many more).

Honestly, this show is so good. Please please please give it a shot. If you like Amphibia, The Owl House, Hilda or SPOP, watch it.
