Anyways, this was kind of hard. I tried to balance the fluff and the smut and the angst. As for my favorite fic i've written? Honestly it changes. These are what jumped out at me tonight.

Late Bloomers: Ezra x f!reader /w Cee This is part of the Liminal AU, an modern? Contemporary? Prospect AU. Ezra is Cee's legal guardian and the reader's hot neighbor.

Song of the Wrong Response : Din Djarin x gn!reader Part of the Atin'ika AU but can stand alone. This takes place after S2.

Maze: Frankie Morales x f!reader soft little Halloween fic, part of the Changes AU, but it's not necessary to read that one first. Reader is childhood friends with the Millers and has moved back home after a disastrous relationship.

Bonnie is the one blessed by the head housemaiden to not be frozen in time. Petronille and Bonnie ran to dormont's house when she ran away from home and Bonnie's been raised by the House, basically. So when Bonnie was blessed and had to run they have alll sorts of Responsibilities now. They call themselves Boniface to be taken more seriously. It doesn't work until...

Pyxis. Loop wakes up one day and finds themself somewhere different, in a House, and takes the opportunity to Change and then go out searching for Sadnesses (huh there are a lot more than you would expect after the king's been defeated-) to fight to blow off steam and be someone new until Boniface runs into them begging for help and citing their blessing and Pyxis gets a rock in their stomach and is like I AM HELPING YOU RIGHT NOW and they look around for orbs, finding...

Siffrin! Who washed up on the shores facing the stars and remembers that they used to know what they were and spends their life dedicated to trying to relearn them. He wanders into the party of a kid and a strange person with a star on their chest and joins in, eager to find a purpose beyond the stars... even if that is what their mind is at. Stars were their home. They can feel it.

Mirabelle. After a few years at her former house never quite knowing her parents and her parents never quite understanding her, she didn't go to the house. Instead, she wandered. Wandering and fighting and getting to know the land. Wanting to know herself. Reading books and hoping for a future where she understands a found family home. When she saves siffrin and pyxis from a sadness, she joins and, maybe, feels like perhaps they can be her home.

Odile. A 12-year old, so some years older than ageswap odile, but kinda similar vibes. Except Odile refuses to fight because hey she's a kid and unlike Boniface, she isn't immune to time stop, so she'd rather not risk it, thanks. Especially not after her father got frozen! She's a curious soul and she enjoys everyone, even if the circumstances weren't great. She has pretend beef with Boniface.

(Ephemera. She misses her Mirabelle. She'll help whoever it is she sees looping, and she won't lay a hand on whatever they're involved in. She won't make that mistaken Change again. She needs to get used to this body first.)

(Isabeau is the Head Housemaiden of Dormont's House of Change. I don't have much on him, but he's admired for helping figure out faster ways to Change. He's a smart buff man, and insanely protective. He and Claude are in a QPR to me. They were making bombs for the king.)

The King is still the same. Pyxis doesn't react well upon seeing him for the first time in person again. I mean. The three main fighters are scissors type and only Boniface is rock type. Odile doesn't fight. Its.......... um.... the King is the same. How funny, to stay the same when you want to preserve change.

Pyxis, due to being a Loop, remembers the time loop when it happens too. Mirabelle is the main focus of the initial looping.

✿ The Taste of Home | Ephemer Week 2024: Day 2

prompt: Alternate Universe ; Sea of Stars

pairing: Kazuki Makabe (Keymaster!Kazuki) & Ephemer (Guardian!Ephemer)

Note: I just think Kazuki and Ephemer would get along well especially in the context of the AU ;w; two of my f/os bonding.

“What are you cooking?”

Kazuki lifted her head up upon hearing a curious voice from behind her and she turned to look over her shoulder. Ephemer, standing nearby the kitchen counter was tiptoeing to spectate what the other was cooking. She could tell his stomach was growling by how shyly he wrapped one arm around his stomach.

Smiling, Kazuki turned back to the pot as she continued stirring and answered to the white haired Guardian, “Curry. Would you like to be my taste test?”

“Er..” Ephemer stalled, which prompted Kazuki to turn back again from his hesitation. The boy tilted his head,

“What’s.. curry?”

Kazuki blinks. The boy hasn’t tried curry before? Interesting. “Do you not have curry in your world?”

Ephemer sheepishly scratched his chin with his finger, chuckling nervously. Kazuki could understand the overall nervousness of approaching her as a person no matter how soft she sounded, but she also wouldn’t be surprised if Keyblade Masters are just overall unapproachable due to the nature of ... well being a Keyblade Master. She then hears Ephemer answer,

“I mean... I probably did back in my birthworld... but Earth itself? Well it’s a bit of a desolate state as far as I can explain it easily, so food is usually scarce and Golden Age recipes are but a rarity.”

She watched him fiddle with the loose ends of his scarf. Whenever he speaks to people, he has to fiddle with something to have his brain focus and speak coherently. Mostly his scarf. This she was not unfamiliar of, but she makes her posture all but relaxed to signal him through her body language that he was no bother to her,

“Would you like to learn then?”

“Huh?” The kid perks up, stunned over the question. This perplexes Kazuki but she didn’t address it. In fact, his surprised look could only make the Keyblade Master giggle,

“Assuming this ‘Golden Age’ in your world is the same era as my world’s, I don’t think it would be a problem to learn some recipes now than never no? Besides, it could be something to boast to your fathers about.” Kazuki gave a playful wink, indulging in the chaos that was Ephemer’s personality. She saw the stars in his eyes twinkle in anticipation. Yes... Ephemera Agraeus, master chef of curry! Immediately, she saw a change of his shy demeanor than that of a goofy big grin as he rolled up the sleeves of his white turtleneck.

“Well what are we waiting for?! Let me at the stove!” He said, enthusiastically warping to the stove before Kazuki predicted where he would land and stand between him and the stove.

“Woah there, little man!” She giggled, “One step at a time. I don’t want you burning a place that isn’t yours... but I also don’t encourage burning your place up either. You can help me with the little things of the main course.” Says Kazuki, “I should’ve asked earlier... do you know how to cook at all?”

Ephemer pouted. He wanted to touch the fire machine! “My uncle and auntie taught me, but my memory isn’t good enough to retain much of it unless I do it multiple times! Which..” He sulked, “I don’t ... unfortunately. I don’t have time to do much mundane -.. human stuff.”

Kazuki listened and nodded. She wouldn’t say she couldn’t relate when she was around his age. The moment she piloted the Fafner, the world’s life was under her disposal. She only had certain amount of times to be human - herself, but slowly her own humanity faded the more she integrated herself to the Festum. Cursed to be an eternal, her heart and humanity had been gradually fading away. She wasn’t sure if she could taste her curry anymore.

Aside from herself, there were still humans that could taste and feel the warmth of food. She was just afraid to ask, or - well.. could she feel fear at this point? She couldn’t tell. She looked back to the pot before she adjusted the flame of the stove, stirring before scooping a portion of curry before she turned to Ephemer.

“Now’s your time, yes?”

Ephemer blinked as he looked up to Kazuki again. She begins to explain,

“As much as I look human, I can no longer taste food or feel emotions.. I don’t think.”

Ephemer stayed near Kazuki, listening. Cannot taste food or feel anything..? Is she diseased?! “So then,” Ephemer began, “Why do you still cook? Why do all of that when you can no longer taste or feel? I feel like if you can’t be some bit of human, humane things are less enjoyable.”

Kazuki smiled softly at Ephemer’s questions. That was something she found endearing to the younger humans and those around Mimi’s age. No matter the circumstances, they were always so curious of the unknown - braving to seek knowledge and understanding those around them. Hearing, feeling, connecting. It was because of them that there was still hope for a future where humanity still exists within those of mortal and eternal lives.

Though one of his questions stood out to her. Why does she cook? She could think of many reasons, but in the context of what Ephemer had said, if she was no longer human then why does she still cook if she cannot taste the curry or feel the warmth of a freshly cooked meal? To Ephemer, it was the ability to taste and the sensation of warmth that was part of humanity. One could say Ephemer sounded dehumanizing, but Ephemer was eternal wasnt’t he? Guardians lived another life forgetting about their previous life to live their second chance eternally as long as their Ghosts weren’t shattered. To Kazuki, Ghosts to her are the hearts of all Guardians. They cannot live without them, and Ghosts cannot live without their Guardians either.

Kazuki had nothing of sorts. Though she felt that doing the simplest things, like cooking...

“...Cooking was the best I could do when I was human alongside many other things. Even if I cannot taste anything, or feel anything anymore... just doing it still makes me feel human.” She answered, rather slowly as her thoughts for a well thought answer were piecing together as coherently as possible, “I still enjoy it, even if I lose a bit of humanity. Because if I stop, what left of humanity would I have?”

Then followed silence. She did say a lot, so she gave Ephemer time to process what she had just said.

Ephemer meanwhile, was glued to where he was as she spoke. He could feel it in her voice that she was saddened for most things she couldn’t do anymore. He felt it in her voice this gentle self resentment... guilt? That poisoned her words. He’ll have to admit, there was something about Kazuki that was familiar to her, but he didn’t know what. He looked to the curry and the plates of settled rice she had prepped for the group, reflecting. Despite every part of humanity stripped away from Kazuki, she still continues to do these things to keep whatever could be possibly left of her humanity. One day, her heart could no longer be there - and he would still see her in a kitchen cooking for him - her companions - for people that can taste and feel the warmth of what can feel like home.

He clenched his fists briefly, Ephemer closing his eyes before he asked,

“...Miss Kazuki?”

“Hm?” She hummed, looking to Ephemer curiously.

“...May I taste the curry for you?”

here's the lady i took into the dlc.... her name is cameo bc her eyes remind me/were designed to resemble of vintage blue cameo brooches.... idk why she's there but i needed a more morally grey girlie to go in and altho braithwaite closer to the beginning of her journey would've fit, she's settled down and is a happily married woman.... i kind of figured cameo was a nox who was allied with ranni and was kind of sent into the land of shadow as a proxy for braithwaite who would do better at making harsher decisions.... altho as i play more i really do think braithwaite would've fit perfectly bc she is capable of it too.... but bc of my frustrations with the dlc i also wanted to keep braithwaite and her story separate. but thinking of braithwaite fighting miquella like "bro my wife already is trying to save the lands between. ur gonna mess it up." i think i WILL ABSOLUTELY bring her back for the final battle at least. maybe i can imagine they went together honestly. traveling party. lord and squire

hmmm I saw "send specific art requests" so I think it would be Cool to see the gang in lmanburg and what you sort of visualize lmanburg as as like,,,,a house. also good luck with graduation 👍

honestly most bp houses originate in my mind as mobile homes. lmanburg is a bit more foundational but it still has that sort of Long Rectangle shape . living room leads into kitchen (with a little table) and then the back of the house is this long hallway, two bedrooms branching off, and a bathroom at the very end . mentally it is similar to my family's old expandable camper in terms of aesthetic ... wooden paneling, cream paint, old stripey upholstery... idk. if yall know the roomhole (heavensinterior) blog a lot of it is similar to that . also heavily inspired by the houses of various extended family members

fundy sleeps in the twin, wilbur and tommy share the queen, tubbo takes the couch . manberg era fundy and & tubbo's sleeping arrangements stay the same but schlatt and q are in the queen now

this also made me think How would i interpret the lmanburg coat in a modern context... given bps general setting id say theres a lot of Scraping to get by and that includes shitty second-hand clothes... some sort of horrible slogan i think or a logo or something im not sure. probably retcon at some point but i was sitting there thinking how can i get the "white w golden stripes" across without it looking strange?? could also be that after they start getting into little spats with dream they literally make a stupid uniform (tie-dye or acrylic paint or something) but for now it can be a little silly hoodie for chommy maybe stolen from someone else .

I finally firmly settled on a hair palette for my game, so here are a bunch of eyebrows to match it: Beccabear Brooke, Blahberry Pancake Unibrow 1, Digi KimJM, Ephemera 080620, Ephemera 091228, io Louhi, Lapink November, Lilith Straight, Liulai 02a, Remus Sirion 34, Vivi N1 and Zerodark HeyJude.

Details under the cut, the swatch and named previews are also included in the download.

I love the Pooklet-Digi-Io palette that @fakebloood uses (see here) but I don't actually use all of the colors on it. This is the selection I'll be sticking with:

[blacks: Dynamite, Landmine / browns: Caim, Sorath, Orias / blonds: Volatile, Grenade / reds: Copper, Ariel / greys: Pipebomb, Grenade, Mailbomb / + unbinned Naberius]

To be more exact that's the palette I'll be sticking to for hair: eyebrows are the same except they only get one black tone instead of Dynamite + Landmine.

All colors are binned except Naberius (Naberius eyebrows will therefore be available for all sims no matter their hair color). All are tooltipped and compressorized.

Since having Grenade as a grey is unusual, I took care to put elder Grenade on a separate file - separate from the "Grenade as blond for PU-AU" file that is. This way if you don't want Grenade for your elders, but you still want it as a blond for everyone else, you can just delete the "_grenade_EUgrey" file and you're good. EU is repo'd though, so if you do want grenade for EU, you need to also have it as blond for everyone else.

I got the base textures from @pooklet (this massive post), @simborg (this massive post), @serabiet (for Louhi) and @memento-sims (for the unibrow).

To keep file size as small as possible, I chose not to use bump maps (honestly in game it makes no visual difference that I can see anyway). No duplicate textures.

Let me know if you see anything wrong. I know this isn't the most varied selection ever, my bias for natural-looking eyebrows as opposed to highly stylized ones is definitely showing (this is a pretty selfish upload or I would have done the whole Fakeblood palette, I just didn't have the strength for it). Maybe I'll do more fun eyebrow shapes at a later date.
