Kuroo Tetsurou x Reader (GN) Word Count: 1,882 Part two Summary: Not every relationship is one to admire, passions and everyday lives will always come in the way of romance. But Kuroo Tetsurou only realises this a bit later than Y/N had hoped. After watching the HQ movie in theatres and being the only person in the cinema to laugh I needed an outlet
The dumpster battle of the century. The booming echoes of Nekoma’s cheers sent shivers down your spine. Each hit of a palm to a volleyball resonated waves that shattered across the arena. Y/N sat slightly hidden from view of the rest of the Nekoma team.
Prior to the tournament, Y/N saw it befitting to end their relationship with the notable volleyball team captain, Tetsurou Kuroo. Despite his sly and frivolous behaviour, the black haired mop head agreed with a robotic hum. Their time together was not as revered as one might seem. On the outside, the pair were known across the Tokyo school for their names would always slip from someone’s lips. Personalities so unalike and yet they were so in sync.
Y/N did not want to burden Kuroo’s drive to win. Kuroo did not want to neglect Y/N. Days of no contact turned to weeks. Kuroo was always at practice till nightfall, Y/N was cooped up in their room studying meticulously for their university entrance exams. By the fifth week of no contact beyond school, Y/N had sent a message to Kuroo for the first time in over a month.
Meet me by the park, after practice. 6PM.
The park’s swing set was rusted from the skin of the bolts into the grooves of its spiralling metal. Y/N still kicked their feet lightly whilst perched on the wood awaiting for the captain’s arrival.
6:30PM. 6:45PM. 6:50PM. 6:55PM. 6:57PM. 6:59PM.
Clumping running shoes came knocking towards the H/C haired figure on the swing.
“Sorry, practice ran over again.” Kuroo Tetsurou was always the first to arrive at Nekoma’s practice and the last to leave. He decided if practice would overextend. He knew Y/N was waiting, but still only cared for the game.
Y/N couldn’t help but think that Kuroo saw them as an afterthought. Despite their moments of hilarity and nonsense over the last three years, more often than not Kuroo would see his focus else where, usually towards the court.
“You’d always say that.” Y/N’s tongue spilt a tiny drop of venom at the end of their comment.
“It’s the truth.”
With a huff, Y/N stood to challenge the boy. No, man. Even within a few weeks, he had been scarily evolving to a matured, aged version of himself. Yet Y/N never noticed the way Kuroo’s shirts no longer fitted him the same way, or the slight stubble growing on his chin and upper lip or how his cologne had shifted from a softer, powdery scent, to a peppery Oudh masked with a floral kiss. Y/N didn’t get to experience his metamorphosis from a boy to a man, he saw it with his brothers, his teammates, with volleyball. Y/N wasn’t the first person that Kuroo would go to over news about his life advancements. Y/N was merely a shadow. The awkward smiles that they had to endure whenever their friends mentioned their boyfriend of three years, acting as if they had spoken properly in the last few hours, yet in reality had only seen each other’s faces passing each other in the halls. Not even a hand brush or a light peck. Just stares that lasted mere milliseconds, that held no emotion behind them.
Kuroo knew he wasn’t giving Y/N enough attention or time. He knew that the trajectory of his life at the moment was solely on volleyball and his studies. Dates, after school hangouts, good morning and good night texts no longer found a place in his daily schedules. His passion for the sport only grew further from the summer camp, where Y/N was abroad on holiday with their family. Which, selfishly, allowed Kuroo to solely think and breathe volleyball. He didn’t call Y/N every Friday night like he promised. He tried but all of his energy was directed in a laser beam towards the court. His heart would beat at exponential rates, each breath would feel like a stab in his throat and he could feel each pulsating beat from his heart pumping his blood throughout his body. It was torturous, yet so incredibly fun he wanted it to never end. Time would stop when it was just him on the court and a ball. But Y/N would never cross his mind. He wouldn’t realise until the next morning when Y/N would attempt some form of contact with a text, usually saying:
Good morning, enjoy your day. Don’t overwork yourself <3
The texts dwindled over time going from paragraphs of care and patience to blunt words of indifference to nothing at all. They both could sense the fading of their bond. They were just scared to see who would be the first to rip off the bandage.
“Let’s break up. This isn’t working. We don’t have time for each other, it’s not worth the pain of being ghosts of each other and pretending to be okay in front of others.”
Y/N imagined this scenario multiple times before they’d fall asleep. Sometimes Kuroo Tetsurou would scream and wail, grabbing them by their shoulders begging for mercy, begging to stay together, begging for their love. Other times Kuroo Tetsurou would be the first to initiate the conversation, saying how he holds no feelings for them anymore, that there was someone else or some dramatic reason that would paint him to be villain in Y/N’s fantasies. Y/N clung to these thoughts, of a Kuroo Tetsurou that would fight for them, of a Kuroo Tetsurou that would plead for them or a Kuroo Tetsurou who lived up to his perceived image.
Yet, Kuroo just agreed. Gave a small nod, a wave goodbye and walked off.
As Kenma desperately screamed to reach the ball, it was futile. The yellow and blue ball bounced on the polished court for nearly a second before the huddle of crows screamed in unison. Between the rival teams, Karasuno proved their victory. Y/N would only attend Kuroo’s games if it meant the two would get a bite to eat afterwards, usually at a nearby family diner. Y/N tried to learn the rules of volleyball yet couldn’t handle its quick gameplay. So volleyball felt empty without Kuroo.
But this game was riveting, Y/N felt their soul boom at each spike and block. Despite having never stepped foot on a court beyond the Nekoma school gym, Y/N craved the illustriousness of the court. The despite to jump beyond the heights of giants and reach the sky, to slam their palm against the flying ball and hear the shattering screams of contact between the ball and the court. Y/N could finally see why Kuroo loved the sport. But, they could only see the back of his frame. They were sure that there were a few tears shed from his eyes. But Kuroo Tetsurou still upheld his Cheshire smile that brought those around him to laugh. As the boys hugged each other, shook hands and exchanged jokes. Y/N knew, they knew why this was more important to Kuroo than they were. They understood what it meant, but just because one can understand doesn’t mean that they aren’t allowed to feel resentment.
Y/N did not harbour any ill will towards Kuroo himself, rather, they hated the choices that he took. He never fought for them, he never tried, he never challenged them. But most of all, he never truly included them in this world that he loved. Y/N could only see it from a far, from a screen or on the sidelines. Where once they left the world of volleyball, the pair would be in their own bubble, floating far away from those Kuroo considered family. Whether it was their childish adolescent calling for self-centred attention or their lack of understanding of one another. Y/N left the arena silently, returning to their isolated world of study, far from Kuroo Tetsurou.
After three years, Y/N had achieved their dream of studying abroad in Australia for their bachelors. Their parents had agreed to help fund their masters back in Tokyo and Y/N had made their way back to their home country. Their time in the scorching sun and endless nights of parties, midnight assignment writings and the multitude of faces from across the world shaped Y/N into an alluring individual. They had shed the skin that they were trapped in from high school into a blooming butterfly in adulthood. They had everything aligned to the T, as per their promise to themselves when they were 16.
Kuroo Tetsurou had not given up volleyball entirely. He used his wit and charm to weasel his way into the top of the industry, working aside the Japan’s Volleyball Association, meeting the best players in the world, scouting them and dinning with them. Of course, he had social media. No one in his field was a stranger to the Internet, every moment, every win and loss was recorded online and he had to know it all. Whilst scrolling one summer’s day, in between the break of the game he was sitting in, he stumbled upon them.
Y/N L/N. His high school sweetheart. The one that got away. His biggest regret. His biggest loss.
Kuroo only realised his heartbreak a year after their split, seemingly throwing himself into his studies and passions as a way to mask his mourning. He had gotten so good at busying himself with work and studies that he had forgotten the feeling of heartbreak. Until he craved it. When news of an internship he had wanted for months finally arrived congratulating him on his addition to the team - he wanted to tell Y/N all about it. He absent mindedly found his phone in his hands trying to find Y/N’s contact, only to find it erased. He didn’t need to think, it was like a jolt in his body had awoken, tears flooded his line of view. And for the first time in a year, after months of distractions, he cried for his lost love.
Kuroo spent the whole night stalking Y/N’s socials, careful not to like them or accidentally follow them. He would stare endlessly at their selfies, photography of the cities they had travelled to and their wide friendship group. Nobody that he recognised. Their followers consisted of strangers to him. He hadn’t felt this empty since the night of losing them. In a drunken slurry of thoughts, Kuroo only saw his fingers dance over the follow button, he didn’t feel the pads of his fingers hit the screen.
It was only until the next morning, he saw that Y/N’s profile no longer existed.
Their profile was empty, their bio did not load and with every drag, the page refused to load. A previous screen flooded with smiling faces and exciting milestones now replaced with a text merely stating the obvious.

Kuroo Tetsurou took it as his final sign to leave it. It was too late to reach out, to plead for another chance, it was too late to fight for something that was snuffed out years ago.

All the ways lead to you - part 1
Characters: Aemond Targaryen, Inara Maegyr (Original female character) in a Modern HOTD AU
Tumblr media
Warnings : FICTIONAL PLOTLINE. Established relationship. Me swooning over Aemond Targaryen and writing this🤭 Inara being a sweet and awesome girl.
Note: This post and that a mutual of mine (@/elegantsplendour) remarked that this fic series has 'Succession' vibes. I wasn't aware of the show when I wrote this last year, and I still haven't watched it. Any resemblance to its plot is purely coincidental. Everything that is going to be re-posted here, comes from my delulu mind.
Inara's thoughts and a little background about her are in italics.
Word count - 1.2k
"You know me, mom, I can't just start working in some random hospital as a junior doctor," Inara spoke to her mother on phone, cradling it between her ear and shoulder as she watered her kitchen plants on a Saturday afternoon, “I am trying to find a job where I can practice both medicine and my art.”
"Where on earth will you find such a job, Inara?" Her mom questioned disapprovingly. "You will soon be a licensed doctor and able to practice medicine. You should start with a clinician job and save up for your MD tuition."
"Let me at least try, Mum. Maybe I can join some makeup manufacturing labs or intern with those big-shot skincare providers."
Inara heard her mom sigh and tut in response to her plans, a reaction she was quite used to by now. Yet, the conviction in her voice didn't falter as she continued, "I will definitely enroll in an MD program. Don't worry.”
As long as Inara could remember, she had always loved makeup. Even as a child, she would rummage through her mom's makeup kits and spend hours in front of the mirror, painting her own face and sometimes her mother's.
Her parents always wished to see her in the white coat of a doctor - a dream she shared with them. Cracking the medical entrance exams straight out of high school was a cakewalk, her sharp intellect paving the way for her.
Despite plenty of medical schools in Essos, the allure of studying abroad was too strong and liberating. The prestige of the renowned Citadel Medical School in Westeros had captured her attention long ago, and securing a seat there felt like destiny fulfilled.
While medical school required her to focus entirely on classes and books, her creative side yearned for exploration. Her love for makeup never faded, and after dedicating half her life to studying, she decided to follow her heart. A heart that always danced between two worlds, two passions, yearning to embrace both simultaneously.
As soon as she adjusted to her new life on a foreign land, she enrolled into a weekend certification course near her medical school. And, thus began her journey towards becoming a rare combination of a licensed medical practitioner and a trained makeup artist.
Days blurred into nights as she balanced the demands of medical studies with the pursuit of her passion.
Six years flew by in a whirlwind of learning and she was now nearing the end of her curriculum. After the sixth and last month of her hospital training and formal graduation, she would be a licensed medical practitioner. Thanks to her dedication to both medicine and makeup, she now stood as a certified makeup artist, with an expertise in skin care and prosthetics.
After freelancing a bridal makeup assignment a couple of months ago, she decided to take a detour from a predictable route towards advanced degrees or clinical positions straight after college. She planned to give herself a year of exploration into other career options before enrolling into an MD in Dermatology. And so she made up her mind on freelancing or finding a job that could extend her stay in Westeros, thereby allowing her to save up for her MD.
"Anyway, you've been so busy with everything else, you haven't even thought about finding someone. You're not getting any younger!" Her mom steered the course of the conversation to the topic she dreaded the most.
Oh boy, here it comes!
The inevitable discussion about her biological clock and society's expectations for single women was about to begin.
"Mom, please, I'm twenty four, not forty four!"
"Yes, and about time you started thinking of settling down!"
Rolling her eyes, Inara let out a sharp sigh.
"I have chores to do, mum. I gotta go," she cut the conversation short, trying her best to hide her rising impatience, “Bye! Love you!”
"Fine, But please think about what I said. Love you. ”
After ending the call, Inara continued staring at her phone's home screen. Smiling faces of her family stared back.
Her mom’s words still lingered in her mind, as she made herself a cup of chamomile tea and settled herself infront of her laptop.
She sipped her tea, smiling and recalling her mom's statement about doing tons of different things at a time. She had always loved to hustle. And, she loved how chimeric her career goals were. It wasn't an easy road, but she was determined to make it work somehow. Career satisfaction had always been her first priority; finding someone to date or marry, wasn't.
Inara's attention snapped back to her laptop screen, her eyes widening as she noticed the fourth and fifth unread emails from the top. Both arrived around the same time from the job search website she had signed up for.
The subject of the first email read:
Requirement of an assistant make-up artist on an upcoming TV Show.
The second one read:
Requirement of a physician / medical officer(s) on a TV production.
Universe works in the strangest of ways. All you have to do is ask.
She quickly opened both emails in separate tabs. They were from the human resources department of a television production house in King’s Landing. A period drama based on mythological history was in pre-production, and the HR team was hiring people on contract basis.
As someone who rarely watched television,or movies, she chuckled at the thought of working on a TV production house. Nevertheless, she decided to give it a try. With a few quick clicks, she accessed the links for both the positions and uploaded her resume. As she crafted cover letters for each position, wishful thoughts surfaced again. She let out another exhilarating chuckle, as a wave of nervous excitement crawled down her spine.
How fun and cool it would be, if I could somehow do both the jobs simultaneously.
-
A week later, as Inara was on her way home from the hospital where she interned, her phone rang. Seeing a number with the King’s Landing code, she gasped.
With her heart alight with anticipation, she answered the call. Clearing her throat, she adopted her sweetest and most professional tone before greeting the caller.
"Hi, Dr. Maegyr, this is Stannis calling from the HR department at Red Keep Productions. We've shortlisted your resume for the opening we posted about. Will you be available for an interview next week?"
"Hello, Mr. Stannis. Sure, I...I will be available!" She tried her best to mask the excitement in her voice. "Uh, I applied for two positions. May I know which one I have been shortlisted for?"
"Dr. Maegyr, your profile is one of the most interesting we've received so far. You have been called to interview for both positions. I can't say with certainty right now if you'll be hired for one or both roles as that will be decided based on your performance in the interviews." She could sense his smile through the phone.
"Thank you," she mouthed, looking up, her amber eyes sparkling with gratitude.

You saw a glimpse of sunlight sneaking through your close curtain from your window, then you realized, you once again cried yourself to sleep again thinking of Anton Lee, the man of your dreams. No, nightmares, being with him every single day and having to contain those stupid butterflies in your stomach every time you eat, play, and hang out with him makes it so frustrating. Why was he like this? Did the gods from above have a grudge against you to send someone like him? Whatever it was, you hated it. You couldn't wait to go home from school after 9 horrifying and lovestruck hours seeing and being with him. You didn't even know why you were so excited to go home, it was worse! Maybe it was the fact you didn't have to see his frustrating but so damn cute smile of his, or you didn't have to see hundreds of girls try and give him letters and chocolates of their own. You didn't care anyways, right? Your relationship would never budge out of the middle between friends and lovers.
As you got ready for school, you thought to yourself, "Just a few more months until we part ways right? I wouldn't have to deal with this cycle again and again?" but you were oh so wrong, the fact that the both of you would part ways for college made your life excruciating. "Whatever", you thought to yourself, "I'll just cherish these last few months with him, i guess!". You got yourself together, said goodbye to your parents, and went outside to see Anton, waiting outside for you. "It's 6:30 in the morning, did this cycle really have to start now?", you told your mind.
"What are you doing here Anton? It's so early and you're like almost always late for school? Is this even the real you? I'm surprised", you told the boy. "You told me you needed help studying for the math test we had? I heard from Hanni that it was 80 items, gosh i hate math.", he replied. "Oh, Hanni. I heard she likes you? It's pretty obvious that she likes you, I mean, she always wants to partner up with you and gives you snacks! The both of you would be good for each other!", you say with regret, why would you say that? It just lessened your chance to be with him, but its not like you had one to begin with. "You are right, but I'm not interested in anyone right now, all I care about is getting my grades up and trying my best to get into Yonsei! It's one of the best universities here in Korea!" , he followed. He really was perfect, caring, handsome, loving, and cares about his grades. No wonder hundreds of girls fell for him, you included. "Well, with how you're doing currently, you'll get in, in no time! Let's go now! We have a math test to review for!", you told him before the both of you walk to school.
.
While on the way to school, Anton asked " What university are you thinking of enrolling in, y/n? You could try out for Yonsei as well! I know we'll both ace the entrance exams!", he said followed by a smile, the smile you hated but loved at the same time. "I could, but I'm thinking of going abroad? I feel like I could show more of my capabilities and talents overseas!" you responded. "I'm proud for you, y/n! I'm glad you're becoming better and better every single day!" Anton complimented, you smiled at him and before you know it, the two of you are already at the gates of the school and head for the school's library.
.
-time skip to after the exams-
.
"That test was actually pretty easy! Don't you think Anton?", you asked him, "It was! I was surprised by how most of the things we reviewed for was actually there, haha!", he says happily. "It's lunch time, right? Let's head to the rooftop? I heard that since it's spring, the trees look absolutely stunning all the way up there!", you invite the boy to which he agrees. On the way up, Hanni bumps into you both, "Oh! Hi Anton, I was just looking for you, and hi y/n!", the girl says, to which the both of you smile and greet her as well but you knew damn well Hanni only looked for the both of you, for Anton. "I was just with Jiwoo and she told me to give this to you!" she announces and gives Anton a heart-shaped box with cookies inside and a letter on top. Hanni says her farewells to the both of you and you reach the rooftop and Anton decides to read the letter. "It was just another confession, I don't know why they won't stop! I already said again and again that I'm a study first type of guy. They just don't get it." the boy speaks, "But the cookies are good, here get some!", the boy adds. The both of you laugh and go back to the classroom just before the bell ran.
.
-time skip again to after classes-
.
Anton decided to walk you home after classes ended, and god did you hate it. You were fine being with him during the day but being with him after classes? You agreed, of course, I mean, what type of bestfriend would you be if you didn't? One the way home, Anton told you, "You know, I really see you more as a friend, you're just that someone I wouldn't mind being with, even if I didn't want to.", you tried your best to hide your blushing face by pretending to look for something in your bag, thankfully it worked. "Same! You're so kind and caring, it's almost hard to hate you if we were enemies." you reply, you hoped the thing you wished for was happening, but you knew that it wouldn't happen, "You're like, the bestest of all bestfriends in the entire world!" the boy tells you, with you saying you feel the same way with the same regretful feeling you felt earlier in the morning coming back again to torment you. You both reached your house and Anton said goodbye to you, you walked in your house feeling like a fool, you fooled yourself into thinking he'd feel the same way as you did. How stupid you were. You got ready to do your homework right after you got home, oh wait, you didn't, you went straight upstairs as you feel tears rolling down your eyes, you inevitably fell down to your bed as another crying session begins, was this your 4th or 5th one? Whatever, all your mind focused on was that you and Anton's relationship will always be glued in the middle, after all, the both of you were more than friends, but less than lovers.

I think it was implied in the Light Novel "Osamu Dazai's Entrance Exam", which was basically just the Azure Messager Arc without Atsushi in it, since it was two years before Atsushi joined, that Sasaki and the Azure King did know each other, without his face being wrapped up.
So that could mean two things: one, Kunikida got plastic surgery, or two, Sasaki knew exactly who he was, just as he knew who she was, but neither of them knew what to do or if they should rat the other out because they were in love at some point. In the novel, before Sasaki dies, her last words were "I... love..." to Kunikida, who had her in his arms after she was shot- she didn't die instantly.
Personally, I think Kunikida *is* the Azure King, and that he survived his "suicide bombing" because the bombing was caused using The Matchless Poet, his Ability. Or he's just... really good at not dying to bombs, as proven when he fought against Tecchou. The reason he stopped, the reason he looked after Rokuzō, was because innocent detectives died, which went against his Ideals of innocents being killed.
What are your thoughts?
I think that the light novel makes it a TINY bit more obvious that Kunikida isn’t the Azure King, but I don’t think it completely rules out the possibility.
In the light novel, the Azure King was said to have graduated from an elite educational institution, but without clarifying if it was a university or a high school. The novel then tells us the Azure King studied abroad at a university for an unspecified period of time (which could have been as short as a single semester—or half-semester—as far as traditional study abroad programs go).
The Azure King then worked for the government in some way for an—again, unspecified—period of time (meaning his tenure in any organization could have been brief enough to fall in line with Kunikida’s age bracket) before he began his bombings on government facilities.
Kunikida was a college dropout, as most of us already know. He would have been 20 years old during Dazai’s entrance exam. He worked part time as a math teacher, which gave him the freedom to work for the ADA simultaneously, but again, we don’t know when he started teaching, nor for how long he held the job.
As unlikely as it is, he legitimately COULD have done all of those same things within the 2 years of graduating high school and establishing himself as a member of the Armed Detective Agency by the time he first meets Dazai at age 20.
Now, like I said, the light novel does make that possibility less likely, but not impossible. Do I think, truly, that Kunikida is the Azure King? The largest part of me says no.
But then Bones had to animate the Azure King the way they did, and cast the same voice actor as Kunikida, and pull all of these parallels in front of our faces in a way we’re forced to acknowledge. It’s odd, the level of dedication the production team went into these parallels.
I also think, during the conversation with Sasaki and Dazai in the cafe, that Kunikida’s behavior was hella suspicious. He actually made me MORE suspicious by how he reacted to the theory that the Azure King was still alive, and could be pulling the strings in the present day.
These are just some of the things I think about. As a story, it’s delightful for me to have the possibility introduced to us. A part of me loves not knowing, really, because that makes it more interesting. The other part of me demands more information, and goddamn Bones, they only made the drama juicier by not giving us a clear answer.

Summary: I swear this has nothing to do with my influx of stress/work related fic, no.
Tumblr media
Seong Taehoon has a problem.
And if that problem is somehow shaped like you then he won't pretend it's a coincidence. His having to share you with every other people in your life is one thing, he cannot fathom what possesses you to bring your little brother to your cafe date of all things.
"I can explain."
"I kid you not, I don't care."
For all that he said, Taehoon goes out of his way to censor the expletive in front of Minhyuk even if he has no obligation to do it. After all, the boy is turning thirteen this year, he should know some words already. But he's your younger brother and Taehoon's student, of all things, Taehoon feels responsibility even when he shouldn't.
That responsibility does not extend to Minhyuk's interference with your date, however.
"I can leave—"
"Sit down," you command.
Taehoon frowns instinctively when Minhyuk's chair scrapes on the floor, leaving high pitches scratch in his shuffling. Once upon a time, he admired you for how you managed to handle everything at once. Now, at this very moment, Taehoon feels whatever positive feeling he has for your management skill dwindle.
It's only admirable when he's not affected by your multitasking.
"Just let him go home, he doesn't even want to be here."
"It's not that simple."
You frown, lips pressed, fists clenched. On any other day, you'd have been adorable enough for him to forego the teasing and reward you with his affection. Not today, however. Today, he sets his asserting eyes on you while you work your words into coherent sentences.
"Make it simple."
"You're not the only one I neglected with my busy schedule, you know," you raise your chin defiantly, "I need to spend time with my family, too."
He holds back the urge to sneer because nobody needs to pose a bad example to Minhyuk. But his displeasure is not afforded the same consideration, he openly glares at you. His arms cross in front of his chest when he speaks next, "Oh so you acknowledge that you've been negligent?"
"Really, I can leave—"
"Sit down, Minhyuk," you keep your eyes locked with Taehoon, "yes, I've been a bad everything, sue me for it."
You groan, slumping back in your chair. "I don't want to be this bombarded either, but what can I do? There are thirty million things for me to study if I want to ace the entrance exam."
He knows your grievance well. Not by any personal experience, but from his observation of you these past years. More than anyone, Taehoon understands that you've been striving for this all this time. Yet, it does not sit with his conscience to see you slave over it day and night. "It'd be easier on you if you simply accepted those scholarships you were given to study abroad."
Then it comes. The pout on your face melts away any of his irritation and replaces them with a simpler amusement. "Then I'd have to be further away from you, wouldn't that be counterproductive?"
With those words alone, you've successfully flipped his mood upside down. He knows you didn't mean to do it this way, yet your accomplishment is undeniable. If there's any other cherry on top of this, then he'd name the element of surprise you gave him. At least, he can conceal the mirth he's having for now.
"What?" He drawls. "You think I can't go with you if that was the choice?"
Ignoring how his earlier annoyance no longer remains, Taehoon leans across the coffee table, his chin propped on his palm. "I just don't like the possibility of having to be away from you," your reply is muffled but it's there even when you turn away from him, your pouting hasn't ceased.
From the corner of his eyes, Taehoon notices Minhyuk trying to leave discretely. "Sit down," he says without leaving you out of his sight.
The boy promptly follows the order, hands clasp on the table dutifully. Taehoon returns to you once again. "Do you have any faith in me at all?"
"I don't like to leave things to luck," you reply readily and somehow, that spurs Taehoon on.
He raises a hand to obstruct Minhyuk's line of vision, even if the boy manages to turn away in time. The kiss is swift and short-lived. He'd have wanted more, had it not for your predicament.
Your eyes turn round at his claim of your lips, but you make no protest. To be specific, you didn't have enough time to think before he plops back in his seat. "You don't have to suffer now to enjoy life later, either. I already told you before, I'm here whenever. Not just for your free time, but for your busy time as well."
"Ugh, can you stop being pragmatic and making sense?" You groan again. "That's supposed to be my job."
"Stop trying to do everything first then," he challenges, "you can tell me what to do once you have your sh—stuff together."
You sigh. There is no winning with him when he's like this. With a defeated smile, you surrender to him completely, mind, body, and soul. "Fine, your win," you press your lips together, not willing to go down quietly, "but I get to pick the destress activity."
Taehoon smirks. With his initial goal satisfied, it seems like there is little else that bothers him. "Sure, whatever you say long as that means I'll get to spend time with my girlfriend."
Besides you, a forgotten presence speaks up, "Uh, I can still leave if you want."
Throwing him a sideway glance, Taehoon arches a singular eyebrow that shut down any further argument.
"Ugh..."
Poor Minhyuk.
