I find it hilarious that if you believe the idea Zarc creates new cards for his Fragments mid duel (The Pendulum cards, The Upgraded form of the dimensional dragons, Odd Eyes Rebellion and Raging Dragon, etc) then that means he created Performapal/Entermate Gatlinghoul.

And there's something hilarious that his idea for a non Dimensional Dragon monster is just a guy with a Gatling gun.

Zarc, when Yuya enters Berserk Mode against Leo:"Ok, this time I want to try something new other than a Dragon, what card could I create that fits the theme of this fragment of mine deck? It's based on a circus so..."

Propaganda under the cut!

Aoi Zaizen

The show hates her but she is a very good character. Trickstars and Marincesses are both hella cool decks. Aoi’s parents died when she was around 6 and she was mostly raised by her older brother. She’s the 2nd best Duelist in the VRAINS at the start of the series and over the course of the first season goes from being rather shy and only putting on a happy facade to a determined Duelist willing to risk her life to save the world. She even puts a stop to a virus that’s leaving people in comas. Aoi gets two more avatars (Blue Girl and Blue Maiden) and also obtains a semi-magic AI named Aqua as her partner. She never lets her trauma keep her down and was a huge inspiration for me in high school!

Rin

Why I like them/why I don’t I LOVE RIN. What first drew me to her was her design, which I think is just amasing. I loved that she had short hair, that it was green (one of my favourite colours) and such a fun style. Then I found out about her deck and loved her even more. I like how she's a scrappy mechanic who built a D-Wheel with her best friend using scraps and what money they managed to scrunge up. How she shared a dream with Yugo. Even if we didn't get to see her much in the show, I love what they've done with her in Duel Links.

But for something I dislike, it'd be the tired slapstick jokes she has with Yugo. I've never been fond of those jokes, and find they come at the expense of character writing. I think Rin and Yugo's friendship is just more fun without it.

What I like about their appearance Covered above already sjdhg, but I will say I love her overall colour scheme, and how she doesn't have One Singular colour to her, which extends to the other bracelet girls. It's so easy to do that when you've got a set of characters like this, and I appreciate they didn't go that route.

Do I prefer their dub names or original names? Luckily Rin didn't get a name change in the dub. Though having Yugo call her RinRin as a nickname is.... kinda silly ngl. He doesn't have a nickname for her in the sub, and it's not like it shortens her name. I get it might be a pun on the ringing of a bell, but it's still eh to me.

OTP Main Rin ships would be Swiftshipping (girls forgotten by the narrative and world who also hold hands) and Appleshipping, though apple leans pretty hard towards queerplatonic nowadays. I really enjoy Natureshipping as well.

Favourite card they use You want me to choose a WindWitch?? Ice Bell is one of my favourite of the designs, but I gotta go with Winter Bell. It's such a cool design, I love that it's not completely humanoid like girls in Yugioh usually get, and RIN RIDES IT?? SHE HOPS ON TOP OF HER MONSTER AND RIDES ON IT LIKE A BOARD??? It's so frigging cool.

Favourite moment they were in Hmmm, I think it's a tie between Rin hopping onto Winter Bell or the flashback Yugo has to one of their duels in the Friendship Cup. It's just a cute character moment man.

Least favourite moment The frikkin.... Rin vs Yugo duel. It's such a rough watch. It's so sad.

Yuya

Why I like them/why I don’t I love Yuya man, he's such a fun character. He's having a time of it the whole show but he's still going at them. I love how he's energetic and a showman but is naturally low-tension outside of duels. I don't really have anything I dislike about Yuya, he's just such a fun character.

What I like about their appearance Honestly, I love his hair, specifically the styling. I love how his hair and eyes are the same shade of red. The goggles are a great distinctive detail that's used to show Yuya's current state of mind. I love his outfit so much. It's such a perfect balance of elements that flair out, are tight, or baggy. The white jacket also really helps him stand out. Those zoom-zoom boots he gets at the end of the show kinda ruins the balance though.

Do I prefer their dub names or original names? Same as Rin, no change from sub to dub, thankfully.

OTP I really like Dimensionshipping. But I have a giant soft spot for Syncshipping.

OT3 None that stand out really.

Favourite card they use Oof probably.... Odd Eyes Raging Dragon. The moments iconic, everything about it is phenomenal, but I just really love Raging Dragon's design a lot, the wings especially. Honestly all of Yuya's Entermates are a delight any time they show up.

Favourite moment they were in Honestly any time Yuya gets in the groove during a duel. Actually the most fun protagonist to watch make a comeback for me. It's a mix of expressive animation, fun monster designs, and great voice acting. You feel the pull he gains over his opponent and audience as everyone is wrapped up in his pace and style of dueling.

Least favourite moment Gosh do I even have one.... I guess the argument with Crow in the Synchro arc?? But that's mostly because it's such a pointless debate to begin with, like what are we even doing here.

I had a Lil dream where yuya and yuzu r in a tag duel tourney where they have to switch decks... so melodious yuya and entermate/performapal yuzu!! And they make up their own summon chants for each other's aces and get all excited when they manage to summon em... and they both try to do something different with their entertainment dueling as opposed to usual... like yuzu tries to take a more "yuya-like" angle while yuya basically taps into his inner theater kid and takes a more.. musical kinda angle if that makes sense.... idk it's cute

I think yuya would likeee.... sing the summon chants for yuzu's aces.. just a thought

Melodious mixing well with Supreme King and Beyond/Exceed the Pendulum mixing well with Performapal/Odd-Eyes/Pendulum Magician (even if just by necessity over being pendulums and needing that monster) just supports my theory that Yuya and Yuzu are Zarc and Ray blatant favorites, even when talking about the others fragments.

Four Little Princes, Chapter 19: Snake

I'm getting kinda burned out from all the chapters I post. I write 3 chapters a day to keep up with how much I post, and I feel like they're not as good as they used to be, plus they're a lot shorter than I used to write. So I'm considering going back to just posting once a day

Meanwhile, Yuya was riding around the castle on the back of Discover Hippo, with Odd-Eyes and a few other shadow creatures keeping a close eye on him to make sure he didn’t fall or get hurt. Yuya was having a lot of fun, and it was very obvious.

One of the other Entermate shadow creatures was quite intrigued by this little half-pint princeling. It darted up Discover Hippo’s leg and wrapped around Yuya’s waist, nuzzling his cheek. Yuya squealed in delight, hugging the snake.

“Aw, looks like Whip Viper already adores you, Yuya!” Odd-Eyes said, watching the snake shower the tiny tomato in affection. Yuya giggled, playing with Whip Viper’s hat. “Izza snake!” he said happily. “Snake hab hat! Snake hat!” He seemed quite satisfied with his observation.

Whip Viper began doing a little snake dance, bobbing from side to side, to entertain the prince. It seemed to be working, and Yuya began bobbing along with the snake.

“Such an adorable little one!” Stargazer Magician said, reaching out to pat the boy’s tomato fluff. Whip Viper immediately snapped at the magician with a hiss, and the magician quickly pulled his hand back. Yuya giggled and hugged Whip Viper, who immediately nuzzled him.

“Looks like Whip Viper’s a bit jealous,” Timegazer Magician said with a chuckle. Whip Viper stuck out his tongue at the magicians, and Odd-Eyes giggled. “It certainly would seem that way!”

The entire show would not work if the cast wasn't obsessed with her, and they're all right to stan her, literally gets Sora and Serena to defect from Academia with her sheer charisma, beat Masumi at their gay little rivalry, Yugo spends a few days with her and is ready to die for her, Yuya is simply just the loudest about adoring her And why not? She is so clever and determined, doing the most work out of anyone to figure out the myth plot. Actively trains to keep up with the rest of cast. Even when the universe is conspiring against her and trying to keep her down, she fucking headbutts Roger and tells him off or manifests to help save the world in the ultimate girlboss team-up that was the Arc V finale. Truly any dimension without her is worth upending. - The mysterious magical bracelet that isekai's her to different worlds, the Can-Do attitude, the cool poses (fusion summoning), the ADORABLE character design, AND she was 1/4 of a world-saving hero in the past?? If it weren't for the meddling writers, she would have been the main character
