Replacement (Enoch O'Connor x M! Reader)
I wanted to add something to the relatively small pool of fics for this fandom. All characters are of age and can be envisioned as their book or movie counterparts.
Summary: As a healer, you naturally seek to care for those around you. So it was easy to befriend Jake when he first entered Miss Peregrine's loop, confused and hurt by his grandfather's passing. However, your best friend doesn't see it that way.
It was official. Enoch hated Jake. Not that the other children noticed, or if they did, they were smart enough to not mention it. Maybe it was jealousy. Perhaps he was bothered by how Emma's eyes sparkled with interest whenever the American boy was around. Or maybe, it was the disruption to their routine, as Jake's presence always seemed to stir the loop like a stone tossed into a still pond.
But Olive knew the truth, for she had quickly discerned Enoch's emotions behind the venomous words he threw at Jake whenever he came near. It wasn't about Emma or their routine being disrupted. It was all because of you.
From the moment Jake first stumbled into their world, he latched onto you—an oddball healer with a gentle touch and ability to mend the deepest cuts, both physical and emotional. So when Jake arrived, it was natural for you to be his guide, explaining things in a way that made the strange world of peculiars feel less threatening.
Naturally, Enoch hated it.
Before Jake arrived, you’d spend every minute by his side—looking over his shoulder, letting out a bright smile whenever his creations came alive. Enoch secretly treasured these moments, feeling comfortable in your presence and falling for you more each day. But now? Now it was Jake this and Jake that.
No space was safe from Jake's influence, nor did the American make it easy to escape his presence. It seemed like whenever Enoch and you were together, he appeared from thin air, begging you to help him with something. It was as if the American knew of Enoch's feelings and acted to rile him up, whisking the attention of the only person he actually liked. It's not as if there weren't any other children who would be happy to spend time with the American, why did he seek you out specifically?
Every time he saw you two together, a storm brewed inside him, and a tight knot formed in his chest. Enoch wasn’t stupid. He understood what jealousy was, but this wasn’t just jealousy. This was fear. Fear that you were slipping away from him. Fear that Jake was replacing him.
One day, it all became too much.
Enoch was sitting at the table in the library, flipping through one of his old, tattered books on embalming techniques, though his focus had long since disappeared. His mind, as usual, was on you. He had tried to pretend like nothing was wrong, but the bitter feeling gnawed at him constantly. And then, as if the universe was mocking him, you and Jake walked into the room together.
Jake was talking about something, gesturing wildly with his hands, and you were laughing—a bright, carefree laugh that Enoch hadn’t heard in days.
That was the last straw.
"Seriously?" Enoch snapped, slamming his book shut, startling you both. Jake stopped mid-sentence, blinking in confusion, but Enoch didn’t care. His gaze was fixed on you, his voice sharp and biting. “Do you really have to follow him around all the time?”
Your smile faltered, a confused frown replacing it as you looked at him. “What are you talking about?”
“You know exactly what I’m talking about.” Enoch’s voice grew colder, harsher. His jealousy had festered too long, and now it spilled like poison. “Ever since he got here, it’s like you’ve forgotten everyone else exists.”
Jake shifted awkwardly beside you, clearly unsure of what to say, but Enoch didn’t give him a chance. “You’re spending so much time with him, acting like he needs you for everything. It's pathetic."
Your eyes narrowed, a flash of anger crossing your face. “He’s new here, Enoch! He does need help adjusting. And I’m not just going to ignore him because you—”
“Because I what?” Enoch cut you off, his eyes blazing. “Because I’m not needy enough for you? Because I don't fawn over you like a mutt every second like he does?””
Your mouth opened slightly, stunned by his words. Enoch could see the hurt forming in your eyes, but he was too wound up to stop now.
“Face it,” Enoch continued, his voice colder now, “you just want to feel like you matter to someone, right? Like you have some purpose. Well, here’s the truth—you’re not needed here. Jake can deal just fine on his own and I don’t need a dessolent friend.”
Your face twisted in hurt, and that twisted something deep inside Enoch. You stared at him, your hands trembling slightly at your sides. “You’re wrong,” you finally said, voice breaking. “But I guess I was wrong too, thinking you were my best friend.”
Before Enoch could respond, you turned and stormed out of the room, leaving him and Jake alone. The American looked like he was about to say something, but Enoch shot him a cold glare, daring him to speak.
Days passed. Days where Enoch didn’t see you, didn’t hear from you, and the space you used to fill in his life became an empty void he couldn’t bear to acknowledge. You weren't just avoiding him, you had begun to spend even more time with Jake, much to Enoch's dismay.
He tried to act like it didn’t bother him. He pretended he didn’t care when he saw you laughing as if his absence meant nothing to you. But it did. It hurt more than Enoch was willing to admit. It was only when Olive pushed him to accept his mistake that led him to stand at your door, long after the other house's inhabitants had gone to bed.
Enoch stood there for a long moment, his hand raised to knock, but his usual stubbornness kept holding him back. What if you didn’t forgive him? What if you’d already moved on and replaced him for good?
Taking a deep breath, Enoch knocked.
After a few agonizing moments, the door creaked open, and you stood there, blinking groggily at him in the dim light. You looked surprised to see him, and Enoch couldn’t blame you.
“What do you want, Enoch?” you asked, your voice flat, distant.
“I…” Enoch faltered for a moment, struggling to find the right words. His usual snark and bravado were gone, replaced with something more vulnerable, more uncertain. “I came to…apologize.”
You crossed your arms, leaning against the doorframe, clearly not ready to let him off the hook so easily. “For what?”
“For what I said,” Enoch muttered, not meeting your eyes. “For being a complete prat.”
Your expression softened, but you didn’t say anything, waiting for him to continue. Enoch sighed, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly. “Look, I didn’t mean it. Any of it,” he admitted, his voice quieter now. “I was just…jealous. Of Jake. Of the time you’ve been spending with him.”
You raised an eyebrow, clearly surprised. “Jealous? Why?”
Enoch hesitated, his heart pounding in his chest. This was it. He could either admit the truth or lose you for good. Taking a deep breath, he finally met your gaze. “Because I like you,” he confessed in a whisper. “I’ve liked you for a long time, and seeing you with him made me feel like I was losing you. Like I wasn’t needed anymore. Like I was being replaced.”
The weight of his confession hung in the air, and Enoch braced himself for your response. He had no idea how you would react, but he had to say it. He couldn’t keep pretending like it didn’t matter anymore. You stood there for a long moment, staring at him, processing everything. Then, slowly, you stepped aside, opening the door wider.
“Come inside, Enoch,” you said quietly. “Let’s talk.”
And for the first time in days, Enoch felt a small glimmer of hope. Maybe, just maybe, things could be fixed after all.

Loop Mornings
Enoch O’Connor x Reader Fluff
Miss Peregrines Home for Peculair Children
My eyes fluttered open as the sound of familiar birds sang their morning calls in the garden. I woke the same way every day. The same minute, of the same day, of the same year. September 3rd 1943. As always I closed my eyes again, attempting to fall back into a deep slumber.
I shivered as a breeze came through the window and snuggled deeper into the duvet and the strong arms that encompassed me. Enoch must have forgotten to close the window the night before after we'd spent the evening on the balcony. I felt my face heat up at the memory. Despite having been together for the past twenty years in the loop, the thought of the broody boy set my cheeks aflame and my stomach to flutter in nervous excitement.
As if he knew I was thinking about him, I felt Enoch shift beside me. He mumbled something illegible and pulled my body closer to him. I let out a breathless laugh and let myself be pressed against his chest. At last, I let my eyes open fully as I listened to his steady heartbeat in his chest. My fingers drew out intricate patterns with a featherlight touch on his chest, being as careful as I could not to wake him. Although, knowing Enoch he was probably already awake and just pretending. He did that a lot, especially in quiet loop mornings like this, just feigning sleep to make the moment last longer.
Despite being virtually adults, and both the oldest wards under her care, Miss Peregrine still disapproved of us sharing a bed. So, moments like this were rare and short-lived.
Enoch stroked a hand down my back softly. His hands were calloused from all the manual work he did constructing his homunculi, but I felt his roughened caress comforting. As his hand made its way down my bare spine I was reminded suddenly that I was naked, which meant he certainly was too. “G’Morning, darling.” He said in a husky voice that was rough from sleep. I felt a shiver go through me at the deep rumble of it.
I tilted my head back and placed a soft, lingering kiss on his jaw in reply. I saw his Adam's apple bob as he swallowed when my lips carried on a trail downwards along the column of his neck. “Morning handsome,” I murmured against his hot skin.
Enoch groaned and pulled me on top of him so fast it made my head spin. I giggled quietly, aware that we couldn't be too loud. The walls in this house were ridiculously thin. I ran my hands down his defined chest teasingly as he gripped my hips tightly.
“How long have we got?” He asked me slightly breathless when my hands drifted lower, tracing the deep v-line on his hips.
I grinned devilishly, “Long enough.” And with that, Enoch captured my lips in a searing kiss full of lust and love.
Loop mornings were repetitive-literally, and there was no way to deny that. But it didn't mean they couldn't be fun. And as long as I had Enoch, I could spend every morning like this. Full of searing kisses, soft caresses and gasped breaths. Forever.

An Eventful Morning (Enoch O’Connor x Reader)
Warning(s): Fluff
@shilohpug Hey there, you seemed like you liked the previous one and that really motivated me to write another one so here’s something for you since you seemed to like the previous one so much. ‘
A/n: I’m writing this based on movie Enoch.
Waking up in the mornings weren’t always that great but with Enoch always there in the morning it was definitely an improvement. It puzzled you that you were never caught by the headmistress yet. She has always scolded both of you for publicly displaying your affection for each other in front of the younger children.
“The younger children don’t need to experience your public display of affection”
The younger children always made fun of both of you as well.
“Eww Enoch just kissed y/n they have cooties now”
“Enoch and y/n sitting on a tree k i s s i n g”
It never bothered the both of you. If only, it was amusing to watch the children as they mock the relationship you have with Enoch.
Tossing and turning on the bed you didn’t feel that familiar warm presence on the bed with you. Reaching over the sides of the bed you touched the floor to check if Enoch was on the floor. It wouldn’t be the first time you’ve kicked him off the tiny bed that barely fit you both. Not being able to find Enoch, you reluctantly opened your eyes and scanned around the room. You saw a figure hunched sitting at the table that Enoch always used to build his weird little homunculi. Seeing the curly hair atop the head of the person you instantly recognized it to be your boyfriend.
“Sweetheart, stop working and come back to bed with me” you whined.
“Hang on darling let me just put on a few finishing touches” Enoch replied.
You continued tossing and turning slowly getting used to being awake. You took Enoch’s pillow, hugging it towards your body. Pushing your face against the pillow, you sniffed it. The familiar scent of cinnamon, mint and a bit of musk filled your nose. Preferring his pillow over yours your hugged it happily while making little noises. Without you knowing Enoch has been looking at you the whole time smiling slightly admiring the human being on his bed. Clad in only his dress shirt and hugging his pillow happily he knew you were going to stay with him forever. The heart eyes you always made at him only supported that statement.
While Enoch was spacing out you sneaked out of bed slowly walking over to him trying not to make any noise with the creaky wooden floors all the rooms in the building has. Reaching his standing silhouette successfully not making any noise to break Enoch out from his daydream, you jumped onto him and wrapped your arms around his neck.
“Are you ready to come back to bed now?” you asked pecking his lips, then pouting at him slightly making puppy eyes.
“You know I can’t say no to that face, baby doll” Enoch said pecking your nose.
He lifted you up bridal style surprising you that you hurriedly wrapped your arms around his neck. Enoch laughed a little bit kissing you on the forehead and walking towards the bed with you in his arms while he took off his shoes. Tossing around on the bed happily you looked at Enoch from the place you laid. Enoch smiled lovingly at you before jumping into bed with you making you jump a little bit on the bed as well. He started tickling you which made you laugh like mad.
“Stop stop Enoch I swear to god I will hurt you if you don’t stop” you said while trying to catch your breath with little tears rolling down your face from the laughter.
“Fine, fine.” Enoch said huffing slightly.
He wrapped his arms around your waist bringing you closer to his body. You laid your head on his chest wrapping your arms around his body as well. Using one of your hands you drew little circles on the back of Enoch. You looked up to see him already looking at you. A smile started growing on your face while the two of you made heart eyes at each other. You brought your head up to make it seem like you were going to kiss him. Only you weren’t going to; you brought your head up and gave him a good long lick on his cheek.
“God damn it, darling. Why would you do that?” Enoch said while bringing up his arm to wipe your saliva from his face.
“It’s my revenge, sweetheart” you said smiling cheekily at him.
He stroked your thigh that was on show now as the shirt you were wearing rode up from all the tickling earlier. His big warm calloused hands felt good against your skin, it comforted you in a way. You brought your hands up to cup his face while using your thumb to stroke his cheek. Both of you started to lean in until the door to Enoch’s room slammed open.
“Come on love birds it’s time for breakfast, the bird is getting quite impatient” Emma said sticking her head into the room through the door with her hands covering her eyes incase she was about to witness something she didn’t want to see, then left while closing the door.
Enoch groans while buried his face into his neck. You felt him inhale your scent.
“Come on you big baby let’s get ready for breakfast you heard Emma, the bird is sure to scold us” you said patting Enoch on the back.
He let you out of his grip and both of you got ready to join breakfast upstairs.

━ Quoi ?

Story Time
Enoch O’Connor X Reader
Word Count: 805
Requested: Anon
Request: Hewo! I really love your writing!I just watched Miss Peregrine’s Home for Perculiar Childern and instantly fell in love with Enoch!!!I was wondering if you could maybe do an Enoch x fem reader where he walks into th reader telling stories to the younger kids and acting all motherly and he just watches over her?!?! Idk I really love him lots🌸😆🌼
A/N: We’re going to ignore the grey area around dating and pretend that there was no rule about it because that is just easier :P
You were one of the older kids in the loop and that meant that you looked after the kids when it was needed, your job was usually to tell the girls a story, your peculiarity allowed you to create projection or illusions of images in your mind but unlike Horace, you didn't have to dream it or have seen it in real life, you just need to be able to imagine what someone is describing. It was story time again and you found yourself cross-legged with the younger kids Bronwyn, Fiona and Claire all sat with you, Claire was sitting in your lap and the other two were on either side of you, the boys liked to play outside for a little longer it was rare that they would join a story told by you because they could rarely agree on something with the girls and you couldn't make more than on illusion at a time.
You were so eager to start the story that you didn't see Enoch leaning against the door to the room that you were in, he smiled as he watched your arms crossed over his chest, today had been a taxing one for him, with Jake appearing out of nowhere and everyone seeming fascinated by him you seemed to be the only normal one around, you had greeted him but that was as far as you interactions with him went you just got back to work. Enoch watched you tell your story hands moving with the illusions as you poked and tickled the girls getting little laughs and gasps from them as you did, he was so invested in watching you that he didn't even see Jake appear next to him and he sort of jumped when he spoke "wow." "What are you doing in here?" Enoch asked, his voice caused you to glance up but you didn't miss a beat in the story, figuring that the food must have been done meaning you needed to finish up your little story. The girls hated a cliffhanger. "Miss Peregrine told me to come and get the girls for dinner." He answered. "We'll get take them down," Enoch said before gesturing for Jake to go, you rolled your eyes as you watched Jake walk away pushed each one of the girls forward telling them to follow Jake down for dinner (whispering to Fiona to tell Miss Peregrine that you were dealing with Enoch's attitude) before kicking your feet out to stretch your legs, Enoch walked into the room after the girls left and you lifted your hands for him to help you up, he easily pulled you up wrapping an arm around your waist. "You liked this one." He said softly and you smiled. "How long were you standing there?" You asked. "Long enough to see you smile." He answered. "Hmm, why are you being difficult?" You asked. "What are you talking about?" He asked as he tightened his grip around your waist. "With Jake?" You asked. "I just don't like him." He answered with a shrug. "Yes, but you don't have to make him feel uncomfortable." You argued he rolled his eyes as he started to pull away from you, you caught his hand and tugged gently getting him to look back at you "I'm not asking you to like him or be friends with him, I'm asking you to be civil." "Yeah, sure whatever." He answered before lacing your fingers with his and pulling you towards the stairs so that you could both eat.
After dinner, it was time for Horace to tell a story (as you liked to put it) Enoch pulled you to sit with him hand laced with yours as you both watched but the real test wasn't until after that he was tested, Jake walked over to you "I uh saw you illusion earlier." He said and you smiled. "Yeah I usually only use it to tell stories to the girls, they like it when they can see a story." You explained as your thumb traced over the back of Enoch's hand as you felt his hand tighten. "Can you make illusions of anything?" He asked. "If I can see it in my head I can make it, so if I've seen it before it's easier." You answered with a shrug. "We'll have to talk tomorrow if you're still here, it's getting late." He nodded before walking away, Enoch all but pulled you upstairs. "Was that good enough?" He asked. "That was perfect." You praised him with a small smile before pressing a kiss to his lips, he smiled. "Now get some rest I'll see you in the morning." He pulled you back to him. "Sleep well and my doors open if you don't." He pressed a kiss to your temple before finally letting you go.
Requests and general question!

Hello love,
Could I please request the prompt “I’m not like everyone else, you deserve someone better.” “There isn’t anyone better for me than you.” with Enoch O'Connor from Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children?
Thank you so much!
Fandom: Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children
A/N: My inspiration started to run low again, probably because of those rude anons, but the counterstrike from nice anons + others probably gave it a kick so a bit longer piece for a change (at least compared to the 200-300 word pieces I’ve written lately because my inspiration hasn’t been enough for more). I hope you like it!
Also hey, you probably didn't see your filled The Joker request since you didn't react to it in any way (and I see from your blog that you usually? reblog your requests so I assume it's not normal for you to ignore). Here!
Warnings: angst (hurt/comfort)
Word count: 527
Enoch had stared at you from across the room, earning a little nudge from Olive.
“Go to them!” she hissed to him and he scoffed quietly and glared at Olive.
“Y/N is better off without me.” he grumbled and laid his gaze to the ground. Olive sighed heavily and shook her head, knowing fairly well that Enoch wouldn’t budge.
Enoch’s crush on you was obvious beyond sense. You, too, knew about it, but didn’t want to rush him, knowing he was insecure and lashed out easily if he was nervous.
You also kept quiet partly because you had started to develop feelings for him too, which caused everyone at the orphanage ship you. Even Miss Peregrine made you sit across from each other or side by side to encourage you two interacting.
But by now you had had enough of your thing going back and forth, and with a little push from Emma, you made your way to Enoch, making Olive squeal as you approached and she tapped Enoch on the shoulder rapidly to make him look up.
Enoch met your eyes, and frowned. “Oh, Y/N... uh, what’s up?”
“We need to talk.” you simply told him and gestured him to come to the hallway. And soon you were standing there in silence, and you could picture how everyone in the living room was quiet because they tried to listen in, or alternatively didn’t want to ruin the mood. You would have gone outside to talk but the thunder wasn’t very welcoming.
Enoch offered you an awkward smile, which was a rare thing to see. He only offered it for you. “So...”
“I know you like me.” you blurted out, and Enoch’s eyes widened in shock and embarrassment. “And... I like you too.”
You were both quiet, just staring at each other, until Enoch sighed and ran his hand through his hair, turning away from you. “No, Y/N. I’m not like everyone else, you deserve someone better.”
“No, I don’t. There isn’t anyone better for me than you. And even when I like you, and always have, and you like me, I... I just want you to know it. We don’t have to date, kiss and cuddle and be cute together, just... I couldn’t hold it in anymore. I had to tell you.” you nodded your head. “We can’t know if we’re alive tomorrow, after a week or a year because of this war. I had to tell you before it’s too late.”
Enoch’s eyes searched your face in case you were lying to make him feel like a better person, or maybe you wanted to mess with him, but your face told him that you spoke the truth. And as Enoch didn’t say anything, you offered him a small smile, before turning away. But you were immediately pulled back, and before you knew it, Enoch kissed you.
The kiss was short, but it was enough to make your heart thumping like crazy. He leaned his forehead against yours as you both closed your eyes, and he took in a deep breath.
“You’re right,” he whispered. “There isn’t anyone better for me than you.”

(hello could you do a enoch o’conner x reader where the reader has adhd and tourette’s syndrome and is stressed from it and he comforts them?? thank u so much dude) *I can write for ADHD because I’ve experienced it, but unfortunately I can’t do Tourette’s accurately.*
“Enoch, have you seen my book”
“Not since the last time you asked me” the boy replied dispassionately from his chair as you barreled around the house.
You were what Miss Peregrine called “flighty”, which basically meant that you constantly lost everything, and your brain went faster than the rest of you did.
“I’ve looked everywhere!”
“It will turn up, just relax”
You collapsed in the chair next to him in a huff, your face flushed red. “Why can’t I just keep track of things?”
“I don’t know, but don’t worry about it.” Enoch patted you knee, “did you do your chores?”
You eyes widened and your body when completely tense “SHIT” You hollered and growled, stomping your foot on the floor. “I was so wrapped up in finding the book, I completely forgot!” You sighed and rested your head in your hands. “Why can’t I do anything right?”
“Hey, come on” Enoch scolded you. “Look, you’ve just got to slow down for a second, you’re getting all worked up”
“I’m frustrated! I can’t keep track of anything, I keep forgetting my chores, and I can’t do anything right! I’m the most useless person in the house!”
You shot up and finished your rant practically yelling.
Enoch stood slowly and sighed. “Come here” You sighed and leaned on him as he folded his arms around your shoulders.
“You’re not useless, you’ve done a ton for the house. You think of things no one else does, and you tell the best stories and you’re great with the little ones. Claire and the twins love you, and you keep them happy. You’re the happiest person in the house”
You grumbled, but your friend’s words filled your chest and you sighed.
“You’re kind of like a ball of sunshine. You keep our spirits up. So what if you forget some stuff?” You smiled and hugged him back. “Thanks Enoch, that means a lot”

˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ Nothing Beats a First Kiss - Enoch O’Connor
POSTED: December 9th, 2017
WORD COUNT: 2,278
REQUESTED: Anon
A/N: 50 First Dates AU that I thought was super cute. Not sure if this is any good, but I liked this request too much not to do it. Sorry if you don’t like this Anon. There’s an Embry Call fic in the works for those who liked my last fic for him.
September 3rd, 1943
Y/N was the Pub owners daughter, everyone knew not to try anything with her, or face her father's wrath. Because of this, she had little to no friends on the small island. That didn’t bother Y/N since most of the boys her age were immature and rude. Instead, she tended to the small garden in front of the pub.
Because Y/N’s mother got sick, Y/N had to take over the household chores until she got better, meaning she got to her garden later than usual. When she went outside, it was to find a little blonde girl tightly clutching a scowling boys hand, though Y/N could tell he wasn’t mad at the girl.
Paying them no mind Y/N went straight to her garden. It was struggling a bit since the Island was getting more sun than normal. Y/N watered it lightly, not wanting the water to heat too much in the sunlight. The little girl was blabbering on about a doll that the older boy she called Enoch, destroyed. Enoch grumbled under his breath but pulled her down the road to replace the toy.
They were gone for almost ten minutes before they came back with two more people. Two girls, who both appeared to be the same age as Enoch, one with blonde hair, the other, red. The girls walked past without noticing her, but Enoch did not. He faltered in his step, and Y/N watched him out of the corner of her eye while she was weeding the last of the flowers.
One of the older girls called out to him, and he stared for a couple more seconds before striding off. When Y/N thought he was far enough away, she turned to watch him go, only to find him looking over his shoulder at her. His stoic face broke into a tentative grin before the little girl pulled on his hand, and the four of them disappeared down the road.
That night Y/N woke to an explosion, and soon after the news rolled in. The orphanage was bombed, and no survivors were found.
September 3rd, 1943 -- September 4th, 1943
As the Pub owners daughter, everyone avoided Y/N in fear of her father's wrath. Because of this, she had little to no friends on the small island. Since most of the boys her age were immature and Rude, Y/N didn't care all that much. Instead, she tended to the small garden in front of the pub.
With Y/N’s mother sick, Y/N had to take over for her until she got better, causing her to get to her garden later than usual. Once outside, she noticed a blonde girl tugging an unhappy looking boy down the road. He looked about her age, and even though she knew she hasn't seen him before, recognized him slightly.
Not wanting to get caught staring, Y/N turned her attention to her garden that was struggling with the abnormal amount of sunshine the island was getting the past few days. Y/N could hear the little girl whispering excitedly with the dark-haired boy, though the only word she could make out was what she assumed was his name, Enoch.
They went quiet, and Y/N figured that they left. Though moments later she could hear the crunching of rocks as one of them moved closer. Y/N looked over her shoulder to see Enoch stand a few steps away from her, watching her silently with an almost nervous look on his face.
They watched each other silently until Enoch seemed to collect himself, taking the last few step to be beside Y/N. He crouched down next to her, lightly running the pad of his finger over a flower close to him, “What type of flower is this?”
Y/N only had to glance at it to get the answer, “Scarlet Pimpernel.”
“How come I’ve never seen you before?”
“I usually do this very early in the morning, but my mother has caught a cold, so I did her cleaning before tending to the flowers.”
“I think they look nice.”
“Thank you,” Y/N gave Enoch a bright smile, “my Father says its a waste of time, but there is not much to do on this dreadful island.”
Someone calls Enoch’s name from down the road, and both look over to see three girls watching them. The little girl has a bright smile and is giggling, while the older two are watching him with a calculating look in their eyes.
“Looks like they finally remembered me. I’ll see you tomorrow?”
“Yes, tomorrow,” Y/N was excited, maybe now she could have a friend that actually liked what she did.
Though he was taken away from her almost as fast as she got him.
September 3rd, 1943 -- March 7th, 1967
Y/N was so focused on her garden, she didn’t notice the people standing behind her. She did, however, hear a little girls giggle right behind her. Spinning around so fast she almost fell over, Y/N looked up to find Enoch and the blonde girl from earlier.
“Hi!” The girl looked excited, looking at Enoch and Y/N excitedly.
“...Hello?” Y/N looked to Enoch questioningly, but he was looking elsewhere, a blush on his face. She didn’t know why, but her face flushed in response.
“My name’s Claire. Your flowers are really pretty!”
“Thank you, would you like to help me?” Clair nodded excitedly, dropping down next to Y/N. She listened attentively while Y/N explained how to weed the flowers. Enoch moved to kneel on the other side of Y/N, though he was looking at Y/N face, not at what she was doing.
When Claire was distracted by the flowers, Y/N turned her attention to Enoch, who was still watching her. He introduced himself quietly, so he wouldn’t catch Claire’s attention. Y/N gave her name back just as quietly, giving him a soft smile. They talk quietly while Clair played around with the flowers, hands accidentally brushing. Y/N found that her face would flare up with heat at every touch and every time Enoch would lean closer to talk to her
Claire gasped from next to Y/N, and Enoch and Y/N both looked over at the girl in confusion.
“Enoch, we’re late. Miss. Peregrine is going to be mad.” Enoch cursed under his breath, standing up to pull Claire up off the ground. They bid Y/N goodbye, and left towards the orphanage.
When Y/N went back inside, she was met with her father's disapproving gaze, “What did I tell you Y/N?”
“They were just asking about my flowers Father-”
“Do not disobey me again, now go help your mother.” Y/N went without another word, rushing up the stairs where her Mother was still sleeping.
Turns out, Y/N’s father didn’t have to worry about her seeing Enoch again.
September 3rd, 1943 -- June 15th, 1998
“If I were to kiss you right now, what would you do?”
Enoch had convinced Y/N to abandon her garden and follow him to the beach. They were sitting on the ground leaning against a rock, hidden away from any prying eyes.
“What?!” Y/N gasped, looking to the dark haired boy next to her. He was watching her silently, as if he already knew what she was going to say, “I would- I would kiss you back?”
“Is that a question?”
“No?” Enoch laughed, “No. Not a question.”
“Okay,” Enoch watched Y/N for a moment longer before leaning in, brushing his lips against the corner of Y/N mouth, causing her to giggle.
Enoch gave in, placing a soft but firm kiss on Y/N’s lips. The feeling brought warmth to his face, that made it feel as if it were Enoch’s first time kissing her. Whenever Enoch pulled away to look at her the reaction was almost always the same. Y/N would be conflicted, no doubt from her father's strict rules. But she looked happy, giving him a shy smile as she bit her bottom lip.
It didn’t matter how many times he had to relive his days, as long as he could see that smile.
September 3rd, 1943 -- January 12th, 2016
Enoch watched the house as it burned. The loop was closed, and Miss. Peregrine was gone. All they had was Jake to see the hollows. Olive said that it would be best if they went to the beach so that no one would find them there, but that was when Enoch remembered Y/N.
Enoch took off towards the centre of the island, calling over his shoulder that he would be back soon. He ran along the back roads, behind houses so that he wouldn’t be seen. There were many people out in the streets, some had gone to the house to investigate while others stayed back to make sure no children tried to follow.
When he got to the bar, Enoch could see Y/N looking out her bedroom window, staring at the fire that peeked through the trees. He could see the tears as they gathered in her eyes, blurring her vision. Enoch quickly looked around the side of the house to be sure no one was close by, then called up to the girl.
Y/N sniffled, whipping her face as she looked down. It took her a second to recognize him, but he knew when she did because her eyes grew almost impossibly wide, fresh tears pouring down her face. She disappeared from view, and Enoch only had to wait a second before she was bursting out the back door and running into his arms.
“I- I thought you were dead. They wouldn’t let me go. They-”
“It’s okay, I’m okay. No one got hurt. I know we only met today, but I need you to trust me, okay?” Y/N just nodded, not moving from her spot in Enoch’s arms, “I’m peculiar, as well as everyone else in the house, and we live in a loop. Everyone else on the island repeats the same day as we live on, so I’ve really known you for about seventy years,” Y/N tensed up at that, but didn’t move away. Enoch took it as a good sign, “Right now we have to find a way to America to get Miss. Peregrine back. I might not see you again.”
“No.” Y/N said firmly, stepping away from him, “You’re not going without me, let me go grab some clothes.”
“Y/N-”
“Don’t fight me on this. I want to hear about the dates you took me on in those 70 years I don’t remember.”
Y/N didn’t know what to expect. When she met Enoch earlier that day, Y/N had a weird sense a déjà vu, though Y/N figured she must have met him in passing and she just didn’t remember. What she wasn't expecting was Enoch to bring her to the beach, where the took a small boat that shouldn’t have been able to carry them all out to the water. Then they were supposed to jump into the cold water where a shipwreck was, Y/N had half a mind to go right back to the island.
But then Enoch was giving her a reassuring smile, taking her hand in one of his own while he grabbed Claire with the other. The water was freezing, and Y/N didn’t know how she was going to hold her breath in the water long enough to get there. Then there was an air bubble wrapping around her head, and Y/N took a grateful gulp of air.
Soon they were in the boat, and Y/N watched excitedly as Emma blew an endless about of air out of her body, forcing the water out of the boat and bringing it to the surface. Once the boat was on its course to America Enoch took Y/N aside to explain Peculiarity to her properly. At the end of it, Y/N felt like her brain was going to melt.
Y/N was talking with the other Peculiars when they docked at Blackpool. Y/N was upset that she couldn’t go with them but knew it was out of her control. So instead she made sure to bundle up the younger children, wishing everyone luck as they disappeared through the loop.
It felt like years had gone by before they all came back to the ship looking tired but unharmed. The first thing Y/N did after welcoming everyone back was to hunt Horace down, wanting to see every prophetic dream he had of Embry and herself.
She watched him not only woo her successfully almost every time but saw herself crying everytime that bomb hit, believing him to be dead before she went to bed, only to wake up that same morning with no memory of the day. When Y/N looked over to Enoch, she could see the surprise on his face by seeing her reaction to his death.
Y/N shifted across the ratty couch to lay against Enoch, watching as another day began with Enoch talking to her by her garden.
Nothing so strange has ever happened to her in her life, but Y/N figured that with Enoch by her side, she would be able to get through it.

Change of Heart (Enoch O’Connor x reader)
A/n: this is before Jacob enters the loop and I’m also writing this based on Enoch in the movie.
You were the new kid in the loop, you just came in from America with your peculiarity, being able to talk to the dead. When you first entered the loop all the little kids swarmed you, asking questions left right and center. "Polite persons take turns when speaking" said the bird, effectively silencing all the children. "What's your name?" asked the blonde girl with shoes that look like they're weighing her down. All the children looked at you eyes wide with curiosity. "My name's (y/n)." you said. "What're all your names?" "Well, my name's Emma, my peculiarity is that I can levitate" she pointed at a little girl with blonde curls and a little pink dress "Claire, she has a mouth at the back of her neck" she moves her hand towards a rather young boy with a few bees flying around him "He's Hugh, he has bees living inside of him" then she points at a boy that was dressed rather too formal for the occasion "Horace, he dream prophetic dreams that is projected through his eye" she points at a girl with fiery red hair "Olive, she can control fire from her hands" she moves on to a brunette with curls in her hair "Bronwyn, she has the strength of 10 men" "Fiona, she has the power to control nature" "Millard, he's invisible" she said pointing towards an empty space in the crowd except the presence of a floating hat. She placed her hands onto the heads of 2 strange children covered head to toe in clothes with their faces painted on with only holes for them to look through "The twins". "And Enoch..." she said but only to trail off while looking around presumably to look for where he is. "He's probably sulking in his room playing with his dolls" Miss Peregrine opens her pocket watch "We have 23 minutes and 46 seconds until supper, do not be late children" she says walking off to the sitting room. ~Time skip to supper brought to you by Enoch's homuncoli battling it to the death~ You walked into the dining room with Emma, there was only 3 empty seats left on the table. "Take a seat, children" said Miss Peregrine. You took a seat in the chair next to Horace only to feel something lumpy beneath you. "Hey! Get off me" shouts Millard. You quickly get off and stand up apologising for sitting on him. "Polite persons don't sit at the dinner table nude Mr Nullings, go put on some clothes" said Miss Peregrine. You heard foot steps run off and up the stair case. You sit next to Emma on the dining table while the children in charge of dinner for the day came out of the kitchen with a whole feast. Out of the corner of your eye you see a boy walk up the stairs from the basement. He looked pretty cute, his hair was brown and curly, hazel eyes that could stare through your soul, and with a jawline sharp enough to cut someone. "Who are you and why are you in my seat?" he rudely asked you. "Now, now Enoch be polite now, this is (y/n) she's new here. Now sit and enjoy your supper" said the bird. Enoch sat down in the chair that Millard used to sit in grumbling away on how he should be able to speak in whatever way he wanted to speak. He looked up to only notice you staring at him assessing his looks. He gives you a scowl and says "Take a picture it'll last longer" and continues to eat the food on his plate. After he finished he stands up, making a horrible screeching noise and heading towards the stair case. You chase after him and grab his wrist to stop him. "Wait, what's your peculiarity?" you asked timidly. "Well, why don't you come with me and find out". You follow him down the stairs and he opens a door. Inside the room you see a desk with papers randomly strewn all over the surface. There were a few dolls on it lying limply in the center of it all. On the walls of the room are shelves with jars on it, with what seem like organs of sorts. Hearts, lungs, stomachs, kidneys. Enoch walks over to his shelves and picks up a few jars with hearts in them then heads over to his desk. He sits on the chair and opens up the jar. The fowl stench of something rotting came rolling out of the jar. "That smells rancid" you said purely disgusted just by the stench. "You get used to it after a while" said Enoch. He reached him hand into the jar and took out a heart. He shoved the heart into the cavity into one of the dolls chest. "Why are you shoving it into the doll?" you asked. He sighed "First of all, they're called homuncoli and if you weren't so impatient then you'll see what it'll do." he said as he wiggled his hand around in the chest cavity. After a while he takes his hand out and the homunculi slowly stand up on it's feet. He does this again for another doll it rises as well. Enoch pushes them together says "FIGHT TO THE DEATH WITH YOU MEASLY CREATURES". The dolls start fighting while Enoch cheered them on in the background. You just stared at them dumbfounded as the limbs of the dolls slowly fell off. Olive knocked on the door of the room and came in. "Miss Peregrine told me to call you two to the sitting room to watch the movie." Enoch stood up with a poker face, then smashes his fist onto the dolls stopping their fight. All that was left is just scraps of plastic and a few recognizable limbs laying about. We all walk towards the sitting room and see all the children already seated down with Horace sitting in a recliner with a glass monocle on his right eye. As Horace was projecting his nightmare we saw what seemed to be some monsters eating the eyes of adults and children. The children gasp, Claire crying while Emma tried to comfort her. Miss Peregrine woke Horace up and sent all the children to bed early. "What were those things in Horace's dream?" you asked the bird. She looks at you and simply walks off to tuck the children into bed. You head to your room and change into your pajamas. You lay in bed thinking about the weird monsters you saw in the dream. You tossed and turned trying to get a decent amount of sleep when you heard the voice of a young boy. You knew that it was just a ghost but you had nothing better to do so you followed the voice. The voice lead you to the end of the hallway. The doors were slightly ajar and you pushed it opened with a creak. You cursed at the sound and opened the door slowly to prevent the whole house from waking up. You saw the body of a young boy on the bed 'sleeping'. It was obvious he was dead as his chest wasn't rising and falling like he was breathing. You took a seat at the side of the bed and turned to face him. "I haven't seen you before who are you?" the mouth of the body moved. "I'm (y/n) I just came here today and it's my first time living in a loop". "Who are you?" you asked. "My name is Victor, I'm the twin brother of Bronwyn. I was killed by a hollow." Victor answered. "What are those?" you asked. "They're monsters that control their hunger by eating the eyes of peculiars such as you and me" Victor answered. You heard foot steps heading to the room and you see Enoch standing at the door way. "What are you doing here?" asked Enoch, he sounded furious. "Well, I couldn't sleep so I came here I was just talking to Victor" you answered. "That's stupid, how can you talk to him when he's clearly dead" said Enoch, his eyes were watering almost streaming down his pale cheeks. "Enoch, I can talk to dead people" you straight forwardly told him. You stared at Enoch as tears streamed down his face. You took up and took the few steps to reach him at the door way. You raised your hands and cupped his cheeks. Using your thumbs you wiped away his tears that were running down his face. "Hey, what's wrong?" you asked softly. "Victor died a few months before you came, he was lured out by a wright that lead him to a hollow that ate his eyes" he sniffled a few times. "Everything from my life either hates me or dies" he said sobbing. "Enoch, everyone doesn't hate you. Look at everyone in this house, they love you with all their hearts and they don't seem to be dying anytime soon" you said comforting Enoch. You hugged him and ran your finger through his curly hair. He wrapped his arms around you and nuzzled into your neck. The hot breaths coming from him were making you blush, luckily he couldn't see it. After an hour, he slowly let go of his hold on you and looked at you with reddish eyes. "Thanks (y/n) I really needed that" he said. "Don't worry about it Enoch, I'll be here whenever you need me" you replied. You both walked out of the room together, not forgetting to shut the doors. Together, you walked towards your room. You were going to walk in when he grabbed your hand. "Can I sleep with you tonight?" Enoch asked looking at his feet. You softly giggled and said "Sure Enoch, you can sleep with me anytime you want". Both of you walked into your room and climbed into bed. Enoch wrapped his arms around you and you layed your head on his chest. You hummed from the warmth you were receiving from his arms. As time passed you were slowly getting drowsy. You felt Enoch kiss your head and you looked up at him with a blurry vision. "You know" he paused "I never really hated you, I liked you since I saw you sitting in my seat at supper" That night, you both slept together and it was one of the best sleeps you have ever gotten in your whole life. A/n: Hey there, this was my first ever post on here and my first fanfic that I've ever written. Hopefully yall liked it as much as I love Enoch. Yeah, I’m insane.
