Just two things I want to add, because I'm otherwise in total agreement with you:
One; Shiro is a major proponent of agency and autonomy after having his own violated to such brutal extremes.
After hearing Hunk express that he missed his own family, and, "never signed up for a lifetime in space fighting aliens",
Shiro halts Keith's lashing out at Pidge, however partially justified it was, to remind him
(Everyone who thinks that Shiro is totally okay with the fact that he's been tasked with leading a group of child soldiers into an intergalactic war none of them asked to be a part of can go touch a cactus.)
Allura, whose stakes in this war are also deeply personal, doesn't try to stop Pidge leaving, either.
And, Two;
I thought the relationship between Hunk and Shay was genuinely sweet, especially with Shay being a not outwardly feminine or sexualized alien and her active role in the narrative galvanizing Hunk, inciting his character development and bringing out his heroic side. And, it makes so much more sense to me than the, in my opinion, bafflingly popular fandom pairing of Hunk and Romelle, which has no basis in canon whatsoever.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/81ded91a9bebeb2a818a5845853615be/6cbc075e3aff7b9e-48/s540x810/4620ee72e175d515411e6432f26f1146f0c5c1e1.jpg)

I want to talk, for just minute, about the amount of self-disparagement in Shiro's statement, here. He's grievously injured, ailing, and trapped in a tiny cave with creatures lurking outside, waiting for their next opportunity to attack him.
Despite this, he's been repeatedly assuring Keith that he's "all right", and inquiring after Keith's well-being whenever he hears Keith struggling over the comms. Then, Keith expresses his belief that Shiro's presence and influence changed his life, and Shiro agrees. On the grounds that he's actively made Keith's life worse.
Keith's response to this extremely concerning assertion?
Nothing. He hears Shiro cough, tells him, "Stay with me, Shiro," and that's it.
This is an example of exactly what I mean when I say that Shiro has no support system. His best and closest friend hears him say something seriously disconcerting while in a state of utmost vulnerability, placing all of the blame for Keith's current predicament on himself, which is objectively not true, and does nothing to refute him. No, "Hey. Stop beating yourself up. We're gonna be just fine". Or, "How could this possibly be on you? Did you purposely eject us from the Castle?". Or even, "When we get out of here, we need to talk about why you feel like you don't matter and something completely out of your control is your fault. It's not like you asked to be here, either."
Maybe I'm expecting too much from a young adult with his own trauma whose interpersonal skills have already been shown to be lacking. I know I expected too much from a team of showrunners who believed that dark content automatically equals mature content, and insisted on shoving as much disturbing subject matter and questionable to outright deplorable messaging as they could manage to get away with into a series aimed at children. Shiro was never meant to heal from his trauma. The intention was to kill him to pave the way for Keith to take his place as The Chosen One.
But, in this fandom's determination to woobify their favorites to the extreme based on said favorites' moments of insecurity, they seem to have forgotten that the most blatantly traumatized member of the cast is the most blatantly traumatized member of the cast. Self-loathing and passive suicidal ideation are every bit as much a part of that as Shiro's flashbacks and the fear-induced paralysis that seizes him when a repressed memory resurfaces from the dark corners of his mind to drag him under. And, he, too, deserved all of the sensitivity, care, and love that they believe their favorites do, which makes it all the more abhorrent that he was repeatedly denied it in this show's canon.

Ah-oh! Since people have been asking, here's the process:
It actually has 15 savings but still looks like that famous guide of how to draw an owl 👀

I'm really sorry If you were curious in some tricks I use, but I'm so conservative my pipeline is basically: 1) Draw some shit 2) Continue fixing it till it stops being shit 3) Profit if you managed\Get tilted if you didn't. xD
Ah, also at first he had red sheets but the colors were disgusting so I changed everything.

Nagini was a nigtmare and took the most of time! I have never rendered snakes before. I tried to cheat, I swear! Some photobash or whatever, but my arms grow from my arse so I ended up doing everything by hand like a sad loser I am lol. My husband joked that nagini might look like this at the end 👇 (I really hope she doesn't)

All because I continued getting my hand in painting her scales and each part of her body got better than the previous. P.S. I think I might do some other art processes for my new artworks because I myself enjoyed wathicng how my doodles are turning into something that people could call an art 😅 P.S.S. New artwork is already in the process but gonna take more time (Yes, more time than it usually takes haha). There are some trips I have to take soooo... P.S.S. Weeee! More TV Tropes stuff:
Gratuitous English: Gunsmoke is an explicitly English-speaking world, so this abounds. Unfortunately, Nightow's English skills are less than perfect (and the anime had Engrish abound). The second episode shows us a flier for a "BODYGARD" who is a "CREAT SHOOTER LIKE VASH THE STANPEAT". There's also a sign that says "COFFE & RESTLANT!!" in Episode 5. When Vash uses the computer in Episode 26, it says "Searth Target, All People Relate to Lem Sayblam". In the manga, there's one instance where there's a container of salt labeled "solt". The Quickdraw application in the eponymous episode is pretty legible, though. Maybe Wolfwood is just a better-than-average speller? The whiskey labels are very faithful reproductions of actual brands… except for "Dim Deam", though that may be an intentional Brand X-ing of Jim Beam. And of course, "LOVE AND PEASU!"
Am I the only one who has taken the messed-up English of Trigun - no doubt just the crew trying to create an English-speaking world, and mentally / fan handwaved it (as a native American-English speaking fan) as "Of COURSE it would be that way! This story takes place centuries into the future!" As in, yes, it makes perfect sense to me that people call them "Restlants" now and use "solt!" If you look back into history, things in the same language 100-200-300 years ago were not the same. Everyone who's had to plough through reading Shakespeare plays knows this. I read The Pilgrim's Progress as a very book-nerd teenager. That was a whole other country. I enjoy watching Tasting History with Max Miller on Youtube and I've even made some of the foods he's featured. Whenever he delves into an Old English or Old American recipe and reads the original print from an archive it's interesting how things are different ("plums" being what we'd call raisins and sometimes currants, for instance) and the delightful phrase "serve it forth." What are surely little mistakes in '98 Trigun, for me, become a part of the worldbuilding! OF COURSE language evolved! Hell, in the manga-universe, where the Earth forces come, I wouldn't be surprised if there's dialect differences between whatever Earth-English evolved into and whatever Gunsmokeans / Nomanslanders are using!

Ooh, I'm looking forward to all the prompts, love me some more Sontails fics! 😁 May I ask what parts of Sonic Frontiers left a bad taste in your mouth, exactly?
I hope you'll enjoy them when they're finished then :D
As for the Frontiers stuff, since it's mostly negativity, I'll put it under a read more just in case someone else stumbles upon this:
Gameplay wise, I had enough fun running around and trying to S rank the difficult cyberspace stages, like the ever memorable 1-2. I'm not very picky with gameplay, the Sonic storybook games that are known for notoriously messy controls are some of my favourites, so while it certainly isn't my favourite game in that aspect, I'm willing to give the formula a try in future installments. A more polished open world game could be really fun.
My main problem comes with the English story script. I just don't see the vision behind any of the character arcs our cast was given.
Amy wanting to 'share love with the world' is an extremely vague and flimsy goal—she has been doing that since the start, by showing her compassion and kindness to other characters and helping them (her arc with Gamma in SA1, Shadow in SA2, Silver and Elise in 06, helping Cream and Big look for Chocola and Froggy in Heroes, etc etc you get the point). So why does helping people suddenly sound like this grand, all-encompassing goal that would make her part ways with Sonic? While playing the game, frankly, I didn't even understand what was she talking about half the time.
Knuckles' resolution being that he needs to go out and see more of the world (or "live a little" as they put it) is also nonsensical to me, considering the past couple of games have... uh... already had him doing that when he was supposed to be guarding the Master Emerald. Again, I don't really understand what the growth was meant to be if they just reinforce what he was already doing.
And Tails staring at the camera and acknowledging his dubious characterisation of the 2010s with such a blatantly cheap line like "I'm wildly inconsistent!" is probably the worst offender. Not to mention the end conclusion being that he needs time away from Sonic to grow into his full potential—like he didn't, oh, I don't know, stop an entire tyrannical invasion in his homeland, all by himself, all the way back in Tails Adventure or something...
Note that I do say I have a problem with the /English/ script, because the Japanese one gives them arcs that fit much better for what their characters have been so far, imo.
As opposed to the vague, somewhat incoherent goals of the English version, Amy strives to be a better version of herself, Knuckles wishes to preserve the past and culture of his people, and Tails has renewed courage to do the things only he can do.
Those are in line with their personalities and actual directions I can see their characters going in, rather than Amy and Tails (who literally adore Sonic) deciding that nope, they need to be away from the guy that inspires them, and Knuckles being like "lmao the Master Emerald? What's that. YOLO".
Not to say the Japanese script is without flaws, because there's places where you can tell the dialogue doesn't fit the original intent (for better or worse) and Sonic's engrish is awkwardly absent, but aside from those glaring flaws, I found it much more personally satisfying than whatever Flynn was attempting.
I guess Frontiers ended up being a really sore spot for me because, for the reasonings stated above, I really don't want to see future games going with the plot lines given in the original script.

Hi! I'm adpara player from Japan🗾 I'm sorry for my broken English📛
I may not be great at English, but I've decided to give it a shot here because there seem to be a lot of English speakers around hehe
I'm writing this, but I'm not an OC – her name is Kunsei-ham🐹 She can't use a computer, so she tells me to make collages & input text usually...
Even though I'm a beginner at Tumblr, I'm enjoying it! Ham is having fun with it too🐹
~~~~~~~~🧡~~~~~~~~
Hiya pals!ヾ(´Y`)ノ” I'm Kunsei-ham, the super cool hamster plushie idol from Planet Golden Hamster!🐹💨 I love to enjoy 'promise', mix coord, and sing song on stage with friends♫
In English, my name 'Kunsei ham' means smoked ham🍖😋 I'm not really smoked ham; 'Kunsei ham' is more like a stage name, I made up that sounds like my real name but with a silly twist💫
My favorite outfit is the Golden Military ensemble – it's just so fabulous💛✨ Wearing it makes me feel like a 'Brilliant Prince' because it's super cool!!!ヾ(*´Y`*)ノ” What are some of your favorite?🌟✨
My theme colors are white, yellow, orange, and gold, because I'm a golden hamster🐹🤍💛🧡👑 Pretty sure these suit me, don't you think?
I've got many items in Pretty series... I wish I could wear that to adpara~ Ugh, My heart yearns for things I can never have( í Y ì )💘
⇧I would like to see 'My☆Dress design' implemented in adpara💭 ⇩If possible, I'd also like to create 'My☆CR' *1
This feature can allow players to create their own custom outfits by selecting from a variety of design elements...! I really enjoyed it!!!😭
I think it would be a great addition to game...🥺 I want to play as long as possible
\ Let's enjoy together🐹😉 /
Temporary addition : pls translation as necessary⇩🙏
【2024年5月6日追記】 暫定的な英語の自己紹介でした。もうちょい推敲させたいけど、人間の腕も英語力も限界だって( í Y ì ) でもせっかく書かせたし、いっそ放流することに(´Y`).oO(少しでもぼくのことが伝わると嬉しいな~)
マイキャラをOC(Original Character?)と呼んだり、アドパラをadparaと書くのは他ユーザーの投稿で知った! 「他の言語で書かれた投稿はとても興味深いです、勝手に感謝してます!」って、人間が……
絵文字ってなんとなく世界共通の用途かな~って思うけど、聞いたところによると 🙏ハイタッチ/手を合わせて謝る 📛燃やされる豆腐(!?)/幼稚園児の名札バッヂ とか、ぜんぜん違う意味で受け取られちゃうらしいね( í Y ì ) でも日本のノリ(英語ができない幼稚園児とか)も織り交ぜたいような気も…… ちなみに(´Y`)は普段のぼく、( í Y ì )は泣いてるぼくを表した顔文字(さすがに伝わるか……?)
自然な英訳がわからなくてとりあえず音の響きをそのまま書かせたところもあるよ。 日本語って意味より雰囲気重視で雑にカタカナを使ったり略したりするのでよく混乱させられる…… Engrishなんかはきっと有名な話。
たぶんいろいろ変なところはあるだろうけど許してやってね🐹💨 あるいは指摘してくれたら勉強になって嬉しいってさ🐹💨
人間がもうちょっとマシな英語ができるようになって腕も治ったら改めて自己紹介させたいよ~(´Y`) ではまた!
*1 【2024年10月30日追記】
"glowing coord" とか "LED coord" とか色々考えたけど、検索したところ普通にCRで通用しているっぽいので変更しました。 正しい綴りは "cyalume" 。同カタカナ表記「サイリウム」になる "psyllium" では、増粘剤やお通じ改善に使われがちな植物になってしまうとか。わー!🤤日本の「オオバコ」とは別の品種らしい。
「サイリューム」はケミカルライトの商標名。開発社サイアナミッド (Cyanamid) とルミネッセンス (luminescence : 発光) の合成語だそうな。商標権に一応は引っかからない「サイリウム」が広まった結果が今。
この時はわからない言葉は日本語でググっていたので、そこから来た勘違いだと思う。 「なんでサイリウムコーデの植物が由来なんだ?」という引っかかりはあったけど、 「このCRという書き方、実は日本人のよくやる変な英語シリーズなのか?」から先に行けなくて、とりあえずそう書いた覚えがある。変な英語を書いたのは私だった😂 多分こういう勘違いは気づいていないだけでいっぱいあると思う、面白いよね。
Digimon Tamers - Episode 49
Another "build-up" to the finale episode. Juri's moved onto a new stage of grief/depression from catatonic numbness to screaming despair (and then a little bit of hope at the end). Definitely beyond the scope of emotions most kids shows get into.
Notes:
I was annoyed with the fake out death they did for Beelzebumon. It's not that I want him to die, but don't pretend you're gonna kill him off when it's obvious it's not actually gonna happen. Pretty messed up that they showed Mako and Ai watching him fade away on TV but not him getting saved! Hopefully they caught that part lol.
Juri mentions wanting to die via her hand puppet but Culumon snaps her out of it. This is the second time we've seen this kinda scenario since BlackWarGreymon wanted to die in 02. Definitely hits harder when it's a little girl of course.
Sakuyamon cradling a wounded Impmon was touching. We didn't really see him again post-battle, but that's probably coming later.
The UN shows up (with their Engrish) and use jammers instead of bombs/traditional weapons. I'm not entirely sure what that was meant to accomplish because the explanation was a bunch of techno-babble. Well, it didn't do much.
Evil Juri shows up again and tells Juri that her sorrow feeds the D-Reaper. Is that the motivation for keeping Juri around now that they've learned enough from her or did she just say that to screw with her?
Imagery is getting very spooky and Evangelion-like. The D-reaper's new "Goddess" form is super cool. The bloody tentacle room (lol sorry, dunno what to call it) Culumon and Juri are in looks cool too. I probably would have dug this show a lot in middle school.
Cute seeing everyone in their puffy winter clothes. It's always a nice break when cartoon characters that have a default outfit do something different.
I was kinda shook when they revealed that Juri's been in her bubble for a week!? Uhhh guess I'll just suspend my disbelief regarding food, water and bathroom stuff. Maybe it's like the digital world where that stuff isn't required? Let's go with that...
Kai shows up from the movie! (Didn't see that coming). I feel like anime doesn't show extended family relationships (cousins) too often, so it's kinda refreshing. Does his cameo have a purpose?...maybe not. But I enjoyed it anyways :D
Renamon confirms that digimon don't have genders and Ruki's mom is like "but you're totally a girl" lol. Said every digimon viewer ever. It's a little hard to think of characters as genderless when they're treated as feminine in every way possible. Then you have the other side in Pokemon where they do have gender and super masculine-presenting pokemon can be female (or vice versa). Either way, mon-series are gender non-conforming which I support.
Juri's finally on the road to recovery because she asks for help and wants to leave her bubble. Heartwarming to see. Final battle here we come!!
Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters GX Episode 110 Subbed (Finalized)
(Previously: Episodes 108-109 Subbed [Finalized])
(Check out my Subbed!GX Stream Masterpost!)
TURN-110: Tyranno Kenzan VS Fossil Dragon Jim
Jim Crocodile has noticed an outbreak of strong electromagnetic waves at the Duel Academia. Accompanied by Judai, Johan, Shou, and Kenzan, Jim decides to investigate in the jungle. As they do, some strong electromagnetic waves spring up, causing his crocodile Karen to pounce on Kenzan--and at the same time, the effects of the electromagnetic waves cause Kenzan to forget who he is and pounce on Jim.* This leads to Jim having a duel with Kenzan, and as Kenzan instinctively summons his powerful Dinosaur Monsters, Jim activates his Kaseki Yuugou -- Fossil Fusion Magic Card to summon his Fossil Dragons. *Worth noting that the pre-airing summary text here makes it sound like Karen biting Kenzan and Kenzan lunging for Jim both happened as they're looking around in the jungle, when in the episode proper, Karen biting Kenzan is what gets Jim onto the scene; wonder if that was the original idea in production...
[EDIT, 5/19: Episode reuploaded after correcting two of Cobra's lines near the end, and also fixing an animation error I missed initially with Kenzan's Disk near the end of the episode; details added below the cut.]
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
*runs in to post this in Engrish*
Well, mates, episode 110 is now up and finalized! With Season 3 starting off with a couple of two-parters, I figured I'd take a slight breather and work on just 110 this go-round given the multiple two-parters on the way. And it's a good one, as we're introduced more to Jim Crocodile Cook (and his well-done Australian accent in the dub, for some kudos there to 4Kids [some dialogue choices for him (and Kenzan [that's not how Tail Swing works???]) aside]) while also seeing how quickly Judai seems to have recovered after his duel with O'Brien, and we see the debut of Jim's Fossils, which would go on to take a good 18 years or so before finally being printed with some buffs to them; it was always an archetype I liked. Kenzan also just spending a good 3-4 minutes growling was A+ (a shame the dub just made him talk semi-primitively, even if it mostly works), more of Jim's Engrish was just as good, and I liked how Jim and Kenzan came away with some respect for each other by the end after how offended Kenzan was by the Fossil Fusion concept. Fun times!
Animation error-wise, like with 108-109, I mostly did some quality-of-watching touch-ups around split-screens (with some of the fixes I did also allowing me to get rid of some of the ghosting in the footage), though there two card fixes I applied with Kenzan. Details below under the cut as always for the interested!
Quick housekeeping: in case you missed it, I re-released my finalized episode 1 work, as I went back and applied various card fixes that were bugging me and that I've grown to be able to fix, lol. Still shook I first started finalizing everything in 2014... 💀 Currently, I don't anticipate going back to re-finalize anything pre-84, mostly due to the annoyance of cutting/splicing stuff to get around not having the original unreleased scripts I'd keep with the ATK/DEF counter subs and whatnot thanks to a 2022 data drive failure, and hopefully it stays that way. 😅 I also applied a few minor styling fixes to the ending credit subs for 105 and 108 (noticed the text for a few names in the cast lists were scaled inconsistently) and reuploaded those; rereleased episode 1 has been posted on NAC, while re-finalized 105 and 108 will be posted there with 110.
Anywho, enjoy! I'll likely be going back to some TFSP stuff for a bit (in case you missed that news~) and then I'll dip into episodes 111-112 and Manjoume VS Amon; stay tuned!
Fixes/Edits!
As Jim first activates Fossil Fusion, we see the card first before he fades in holding it, but his thumb is missing as his fade-in starts, and then it just appears, fully faded-in, in the next frame even though the rest of him is still fading in. I fixed this in Sony Vegas by masking out his thumb and adding it to the first frame in which Jim starts fading in, then making his thumb fade in with the rest of him.
Later, as Kenzan thinks Dark Driceratops bested Jim's Skullgar, Skullgar turns around and defeats it, causing Kenzan some damage; as he reacts while his LP drop, Jim slides in on a split-screen exclaiming "Bravo!", but his split-screen slide-in starts with his split already about 50% into the shot. After that, Jim sets one card face-down and ends his turn, and as Kenzan opens his eyes and starts to growl while the split-screen ends, Jim's split starts to slide out the frame after Kenzan starts to move. Fixed the first in Sony Vegas by re-doing his slide-in to be more natural and start closer to the edge of the screen, then fixed the second by just removing the one frame where Kenzan has moved but Jim hasn't so that they move simultaneously, holding a frame once the split-screen's over a frame longer to compensate.
As #2 here leads into Kenzan taking offense at how Jim woke his dinosaur out of its sleep to use as a piece for Jim's fossil "freak," he says he'll make Jim pay for that as their match gets going for real; Judai and co look on as Jim and Kenzan stare each other down on a split-screen leading to the eyecatch (the split-screen here cut from the dub, likely for time), but Jim's split slides in unevenly compared to Kenzan's. Fixed in Vegas by redoing his split's slide-in so they both slide in evenly.
Later, after Jim uses Dowsing Burn to take out Sabersaurus, Kenzan reacts as Jim slides in on a split-screen to declare his Sample Fossil summoning, but Jim's split starts to slide in with it already about 50% of the way into the shot. Fixed this in Vegas by redoing his slide-in to make it slide in more naturally, while also redoing Kenzan moving in the background to eliminate the ghosting during this split-screen's forming.
A bit after #4, Jim uses Sample Fossil to dig up Sabersaurus from Kenzan's Cemetery to make a specimen out of it, and as we see its chains working to drag its remains up from the ground, we see Kenzan still has Sabersaurus on his Disk despite it being in his Cemetery. Fixed this first in Photoshop by cleaning up the Monster Zone in question on the shot's first frame, then threw the fixed frame into Vegas, where I then shook it along with the screen for the rest of the shot, also slightly zooming it out and fading it out as the transition from Kenzan into the dug-up Sabersaurus happens.
Shortly after, as Jim taunts Kenzan about his lovely Sabersaurus specimen, Kenzan growls in response; Jim then slides in on a split-screen to say that Sample Fossil's ATK becomes equal to Sabersaurus's, but his split again starts to slide in with 50% of it already in the shot. Fixed this in Vegas by redoing his slide-in so it slides in more naturally, and redoing Kenzan moving to again eliminate some footage ghosting.
A bit later, Kenzan activates his Treasure of Variation card, and as the close-up shot on it transitions into a split-screen splitting apart to show Kenzan behind it explaining its effect, each side of the split-screen jitters slightly in the frame before it properly starts to split apart. Fixed this in Vegas by holding the earlier frame over the jittering frame so that it properly splits apart in the next frame.
After Kenzan's next turn, as Jim wonders if the electromagnetic waves aren't behind Judai and co's exhaustion, he draws another Fossil Fusion; he smiles upon seeing it, but his smile ends up being slightly drawn onto his eye bandages. Fixed this in Vegas by just masking the eye bandages over it to keep his smile off the bandages.
(continued below due to Tumblr's dumb characters-per-block-of-text limit)
(9) After Kenzan's Brachion switches into Defense Mode from Jim summoning Skullgios, Jim is impressed by its 3000 DEF; Kenzan slides in on a split-screen to think that there's no way he can hold off an attack from Skullgios, but his split only starts to slide in the frame after Jim starts to move for it, and with it starting about 50% of the way into the shot. Fixed this in Vegas by redoing Kenzan's slide-in to start as Jim moves and slide in more naturally.
(10) As Jim has Skullgios pause its attack on Brachion, Kenzan looks up and wonders why, but as he does, we see that Brachion is on his Disk in Attack Mode despite it just going into Defense Mode. Fixed first in Photoshop as I blanked the Monster Zone in the first frame of the shot, then took it into AfterEffects to add a proxy in Defense Mode, and then took the fixed frame into Vegas to re-pan into the footage, masking in Brachion as it starts to cover the Zone up.
[EDIT, 5/19] (11) After Jim and Kenzan are drained of their Duel Energy, Kenzan shudders for a second or two before falling to his knees panting, but as he does, the end of his Disk (on our right) isn't fully drawn in for the five frames of movement that takes (each lasting 2-4 frames), though it comes back near the end of the shot. As noted here, fixed this first in Photoshop by using one of the initial frames as reference to snip out the end of his Disk and adjust it into place for three of the five movement frames, while I just painted in what was missing for the last two; once done, I threw the fixed frames into Sony Vegas and re-panned them to complete the fix.

Okay, I had been avoiding this one, not because I don't know this franchise, but because I was stuck in "WHO DO I CHOOSE?!" syndrome. It's time I choose a character from.... Fatal Fury/King of Fighter!! Believe it or not, I wasn't one of the people who saw Terry and asked "who's this guy?" no I saw him I instantly thought "YO IT'S Mr Bogard!" Terry can be a little basic but he's so damn loveable. He's light hearted, his engrish is always funny, and he's just a good guy in his text quotes and story.
So first I need to discuss something. Because if I don't address this, and I wasn't shouting to the void, it'll cause arguments. I know Terry's base franchise is Fatal Fury, I know that, but first of all, the full title of first KOF game was Fatal Fury: King of Fighters. Second of all, Terry is more well known for his appearances in KOF at this point than his own franchise. No one asks "yo, who's yo favorite Fatal Fury" character, they ask "YO, BRO, Who's yo favorite KOF Character!" By the way, I wouldn't call them my favorite, but my Main in KOF 15/XV is Isla. Though she's not the character I chose, She'd be super fun in Smash but she's too recent to be iconic... Also I'm about 40% sure Isla isn't a loved character.... a damn shame. Now that I'm done going on tangent lol. My point is, my character choice is a KOF character not a Fatal Fury character. Oh I missed a point, Terry feels more like a representation of KOF than he is of Fatal Fury, like his stage is KOF stadium. So let's get to the meat of his post, although, it feels like this is the meat now lol
I've chosen K', pronounced Kay Dash. He's a science experiment to artificially give the powers of another character Kyo, to another human being. It's mostly successful but it did wipe his memory and make him a bit of an almost emotionless edgelord. He's a favorite of mine to play, I'm terrible at him, but I enjoy him. So, let's discuss how this character would play, SHALL WE?! So, to start, yes he'd have Go Meter with supers, I'll sure to include those.
For Neutral B He will use Ein-trigger. This move puts a small circle of fire in front of him. What's important about Ein-Trigger is that it has follow up moves. Using Neutral B again makes him use second shoot which causes him to kick the fire and create a fireball. Using Up B during it makes him use Second Shell, an Upward Kick. Using Side B causes him to use Second knuckle and a punch that moves him forward. Finally using Down B uses Second Whip, he swipes his hand downward but it's on fire. think Marth's side B but on a neutral B
For Up B He uses the move Crow Bite. It is a bit of a basic uppercut style attack like Shoryuken and he's on fire. But if you press B again at any point during the move he will use Crow Bite follow-up, a flip that ends in a downward kick, the bottom of the kick has a meteor smash hitbox that Crow Bite tries to place the enemy in. If you use the follow up you stop your upward momentum and you go into special fall, if you don't use it you don't go into special fall.
For Side B You use Minute Spike. This is a jumping lunging kick has a bunch of power to it. If you use Side B again you'll perform Narrow Spike. Narrow Spike is a slide kick that also does a bunch of damage. Hitting with Minute Spike, due to how Smash works, does not guarantee Narrow Spike will hit so be careful, you don't need to follow up very single time.
For Down B he uses the move Blackout. Black out is a move that causes K' to disappear into no where, avoiding attacks and moving invisibly. In this game it'll simply be a teleport or a command dodge. If it's a teleport controlled like other teleports, but as K's moves are all about follow ups, hitting A will cause to appear prematurely, performing the appropriate attack. So for example, Blackout up and press Down and A will use Dair. Noteworthy, Blackout itself has no hitbox, it does not do damage, it's JUST a movement tool with a follow up mechanic
He will have two Go Meter Supers. For the first one he will use Hyper Chain Drive, this will use pretzel motion (for those who only know Smash Power Geyser), Hyper Chain drive is a move where he pounds his hand on the ground and a pillar of fire is created, Think Entei's assist trophy but smaller. For the other one he will use Heat Drive, with double quarter circle he hold his hand behind him briefly before propelling himself forward with his hand in front of him on fire, damaging everything in front of him, doing continuous hits as he dashes, the last hit launches but this is mostly a damaging move.
I chose K' functionally because I like his vibe better than Kyo's. K' is just a cool character. I like making a fighting game character have a follow up moves mechanic. He'd be so different from the characters we already. He'd obviously have the command inputs mechanic Terry and Ryu have as well I just didn't type it because that would take forever. Also I wanted to make use Chain Drive as one of his Go meter moves but it would be too confusing, Chain Drive is a move where he throws his sunglasses at the enemy then beats the crap of them but I put Hyper Chain Drive in the moves. Who would you have put from KOF if not K'? I'm curious.

going to attack your inbox with my pontificating about reintori. what I like about it (besides all the red hot kinky sex) is how they're both quasi-messiahs, symbols to their followers, whose destinies were shaped both by their own ambitions and forces outside of their control that marked them forever.
their relationship gives them a chance not only to be with one of the very few people who know what that kind of life can do to you.
but also they get to be with someone who isn't worshipping them (see previous parenthetical), afraid of them, or jealous of them. they're each other's windows into the peaceful life they both want. when Victoria gets on Reinhardt's lap and they can cuddle up and enjoy each other's warmth in silence? I just think that's neat.
Oh man I had to look up sm words bc engrish failing me as my second lang ,and man can I just say I'm so envious of people like yourself who can put their thoughts into words? I'm not as clinically horny as I seem its just that I go absolutely lizard brain when I see a character I like with depth and lore and difficult themes and cannot express it in words so I express it thru horny
But honestly i absolutely agree, and sorry i cant add more to this because i dont think i have the capability to add anything or put it into words better
They should run away together to form a lesbian commune methinks

Cool songs I heard in 2024
Whatup everyone, it’s time for the yearly roundup with my favorite music I heard throughout this year. The list is rather short this time, goes to show how disconnected from the scene I’ve come to be. Nevertheless keep reading down below the cut if you’re interested.
youtube
Surely enough kibou he no youranka manages to get Ariabl’eyeS into my yearly picks this time around (though Raison d’etre would’ve also gotten them in either way). Sometimes one really, really cool performance is all you really need to stay relevant.
youtube
Hey it’s a new name! This year Yutaka Kouzaki dropped this really cool album, Tsuki no Suna, and I’ve been listening to it quite a lot, it’s extremely chill and the vocals are right in my sweetspot. The album is a bit samey, often can’t tell which track I’m really on (aside from the eponymous track linked above which is pretty goated) but I can certainty say I enjoy the ride entirely. Can’t wait to hear what else they produce in the future.
youtube
Don’t even know why I enjoyed this song (sung by a vtuber I never heard of in my entire life) so much but I have heard it a veritable ton of times this year, guess it just uses the right words. I still think the engrish was a rather poor choice to add in but I guess you win some you lose some.
youtube
PinochioP always manages to make me feel stuff and this song is no exception. Doesn't quite drive a wedge into my heart like bokura wa minna imi fumei but still manages to hit hard with a rather simple concept. Linking Uru's cover cause I still love Uru, just didn't get to tl any of her stuff this year.
youtube
Probably my favorite Siiva rip from this year, along with the beta mix it’s definitely the better way to enjoy this classic Blue Archive bop (though my actual most listened to hq rip this year was actually His World E3 version).
youtube
“Like someone taped an episode of the big bang theory over a jay z mix tape” Sure Jay Eazy has touched all our hearts this year with neo classics such as Bridget, Diddy Kong and his latest Wo Chien, but the Camelia remix for the song that pushed him into stardom is still the one that hypes me up the most.
Some other albums I heard a lot this year: Goetia’s Zuruckspulen which was the cover for our previous yearly picks post, Hatsuki Yura’s Precious Blood and Rigel Theatre’s Regulus and Mira. Sound Horizon also dropped a whole new album, Halloween to Asa no Monogatari and it’s really cool listening through the whole thing, I’m so happy that it is… a normal release purely based on music and not a blu-ray choose your own adventure thing, I’m glad our majesty got over that phase. However while these are all really cool albums when you listen to them from beginning to end I’d be lying if I said they had a True Outstanding Track that had me hooked on repeat.
So yep, those are all my picks for this year. What used to be a rather longitudinal list of yearly picks has been rather brief this year. I’ve mostly been rediscovering old stuff or not checking out much new stuff at all. If we go entirely off topic I guess Squabble Up and Toretto were pretty cool though. And so we move onwards to 2025, let us hope all our favorite composers stay healthy and keep giving us exactly what we want: music that allows us to imagine epic cool stuff while we wash dishes or commute to work.

SEND A URL AND I WILL ANSWER THE FOLLOWING;
Do I Follow Them?: ... 誰?
Why Did I Follow Them?: i was also told of the return to rp and supported heh
Do We Role Play?: yes, we have many threads floating between us ouo
Do I Want To Role Play With Them: yes, but we are both slow with replies sooo ( ̄▽ ̄*)ゞ though sometimes i enjoy throwing my reply back quickly to see her panic at reply speed.
An AU Idea For Our Muses: uuuh-- i think.. we have gone over most. royal au and picture perfect arc au.. so i cannot think of anything yet. but just know if you come up with an au idea that you want to do. just let me know and i will almost always say yes.
A Song For Our Muses: NEWSmile - JO1 i know you wanted a disney song for the jokes. but eiji.. could not commit to that idea. so this is the closest kind of disney sounding song he could.. do. this was the lyric that i could see for our muses uvu;; because we all know eiji (even in picture perfect) will always be on nene's side.. eventually. 空を見上げ何を思うの 1人じゃない I’ll be by your side
Do I Ship Our Muses?: i think we said fake ship jokes?
What I Think About The Mun: a close friend who i am comfortable sharing my 日本語 and poorly translated engrish memes with. i like how all the threads between our muses range from angst to silly things like eiji spreading rumors. talking with you ic and ooc is very enjoyable since we have similar likes too. also i'm sure i've said it multiple times but it's also really fun writing with you as well. you always worry about your english, but it has never been an issue to understand what you mean. at least it has never been an issue for me-- and if that's the case, maybe i need english help too heh.
Overall Opinion: a fun daikon queen blog that likes to tackle both the comedic but serious sides of jshk. i think you do a great job of capturing nene's voice and portraying it in your writing. i also think your excitement for the series (and other series that we discuss heh) helps make writing with you more enjoyable. because you're always out here telling me about new chapters or trying new au threads just bc of one page from the manga. i'm looking at you royalty au. but even though she is perpetually busy, if you get the chance to write with her.. you won't regret it.

I rather enjoyed Code Geass despite its many, many, many flaws, to a great extent because it's the only work I can really think of that takes the "Magneto side" of the Professor-X-vs-Magneto dynamic; and that the "change the system peacefully from within" guy knows, at some unconscious level, that his cause is hopeless and he's only sticking to it so strongly in hopes of fulfilling his deep-seated death wish.
That said, this also provides me the chance to mention something I've been meaning to post: the "Western names" bit. Code Geass is pretty bad on this front, but far from the worst, particularly when you note that a number of the odd given names are in fact real surnames, like Lelouch, Nunnally, and Rivalz — and there are plenty of Mackenzies, Kennedys, and Madisons out there. (There's no excuse for Schneizel, though.)
Gundam has some real weird ones — but then it has the whole "future sci-fi names" thing going (plus Casval's Obviously Fake Pseudonyms). The Nasuverse gets even weirder, but almost all of them are wizards, belonging to their own insular wizard culture (which apparently thinks names like "Sola-Ui Nuada-Re Sophia-Ri," "Darnic Prestone Yggdmillennia," "Marisbury Animusphere" and "Jubstacheit von Einzbern" are perfectly reasonable). But it's hard to top monikers like Freezing's Satellizer L. Bridget, or Baccano's Jacuzzi Splot.
Off and on for over a year now, I've been manually scraping various fandom wikis gathering a big list of "Western character names" from anime and manga (plus a couple of Chinese mobile games). I used to try feeding this list into a Markov chain (an order-3 character-by-character one) that I wrote up in javascript years ago. (Only, now the method I used to load the content of a text file into a javascript string variable is no longer supported in current browsers for security reasons, and I haven't figured out the modern replacement yet.)
While the results were a lot of gibberish, or else just names from the list recreated, I did occasionally get some notable results, the top examples of which I have saved, and will now present here for your amusement (with some commentary in square brackets):
Aenola von Zeppendelg [very much in keeping with the common pseudo-German pseudo-nobility thing]
Albridge Kiddenburg
Arcia di Raine
Argriffon O'Land
Arslina S. Drostor
Barth Bazilvato
Beatt Shake [And here's the "random English words as name" entry]
Bennia Rodriscogne
Britz Shaftman [The Engrish is strong with this one]
Charcia Harony
Cony Blandoba
Dance Octus ["random English word as name" take two]
Donova B. Kylenberg
Eleary von Jose [presumably pronounced, in the German manner, as /ˈjoː.zə/, not Spanish /xoˈse/]
Elith Gassenbereson
Elynn Breelson [I can easily see someone spelling "Ellen" that way]
Elysitra C. Shamburg
Emillenda Framón
Esmelia Rotobine
Eugraclavia A. Irew ["Eugraclavia" is so very an anime character name]
Fairention Ohank-Albareaux [And just where on Earth — or what other planet — would this name be from?]
Fleur Gascard [Some of them are quite normal and reasonable, occasionally]
Gadokie Pickle [This remains my absolute favorite]
Grunessa Orvestat
Harlette Walkenzeed
Henry Cygnallia
Ingarune la Celyn
Jando Abengau
Judiadonne Winneström
Juliya Kriegor [Not quite Russian, not quite German…]
Kate Clockmorster [I can totally see "Clockmorster" as a surname descended from some obscure Medieval profession.]
Kihamerica Nöll
Larastra Beeferrie
Larcia Armondick
Lelotte von Bolivia [Interestingly, "Bolivia" does not appear in the source text — it looks to be composed via overlapping substrings from "Bolic" and "Olivia"]
Levy Kravendy [This one's fun to say out loud]
Locket Squit ["random English word" take 3, with added Jacuzzi Splot-level silliness]
Lucy Donatalis
Makia J. Grave
Marinico Fordy
Maristephiez Twift
Maxwelle Frantallia [I can totally see someone using "Maxwelle" as a feminine form of Maxwell]
Melo Mirulyne-Krugelweizer [What even is that double surname?]
Nemaillia Folkwyb
Neodylan Vladivlad [My second favorite; should totally be a Gundam character]
Orgo MacNear
Pronch Dorelet
Redis Schrönn
Riddy Mirard
Roberg Asberg
Roston Knutmight [Put "Knutmight" up there with "Clockmorster"]
Sephild Waldarl
Shakira Öswell [Not only is "Shakira" not in the original list, it looks to have required substrings from three different names to produce]
Sharlee Albertoilenda
Sila Medrini
Solenno Bastarosa
Susie Gloristophilia [The juxtaposition of the perfectly normal given name with ridiculously-implausible surname]
Syda Barters
Sylpha Martlee
Tequille Richenhein [Like "tequila" crossed with "Shaquille"]
Thorna Fiorrevík
Timmy Squimpton
Uriam Sisguy
Vans Torris ["random English word" take 4]
Wulf Lavenicoda
Yagelas Lusilovsky
Ziske Oxforton [Would this supposedly be British?]
Will we ever get anything quite like Code Geass again?
I don't think it's possible.
Code Geass is Japanese nationalist propaganda disguised as a global political drama, disguised as a military mecha show, disguised as yaoibait, disguised as a teen melodrama, disguised as a high school romcom, disguised as a Pizza Hut commercial...
...except those layers aren't layers at all, but are instead comingled in a giant snake ball of insanity.
The lead writer, Ichirō Ōkouchi, only ever worked as an episode writer for other shows prior to Code Geass, and never took the helm of an anime series ever again. And it shows.
The minute-to-minute pacing is impeccable from a mechanical standpoint, with tension and stakes rising to ever-higher peaks, balanced out by the slow simmers of the b-plot and c-plot. It keeps the viewer on the edge of their seat at all times. Meanwhile, the large-scale plot is the most off-the-wall middle school nonsense I've ever seen, continually surprising the viewer by pulling twists too dumb to have ever have been on their radar—and therefore more effective in terms of raw shock value.
"Greenlight it!" was the mantra of this anime's production. It must have been. It has, in no particular order, all of the following:
Character designs from CLAMP, the foremost yaoi/BL group in Japan at the time—for characters who are only queer insofar as they can bait the audience, and only straight insofar as they can be more misogynist to the female cast.
Speaking of the female cast, hoo boy the fanservice. We've all seen anime girls breast boobily, with many cases more egregious than Code Geass, but there's something special about it happening immediately after—or sometimes in the middle of!—scenes of military conflict and ethnic cleansing.
Pizza Hut product placement everywhere, in every conceivable situation. High-speed chases, light slice-of-life scenes, intimate character moments, all of it. Gotta have Pizza Hut.
The anime-only Pizza Hut mascot, Cheese-kun. He wears a fedora.
The most hilarious approximations of European names—which I would love to see more often, frankly. Names like, I dunno, "Count Schnitzelgrübe zi Blanquezzio."
A depiction of China that is wholly removed from any modern reality, with red-and-gold pagodas, ornamental robes, scheming eunuchs, and a brainwashed child empress. There's a character named General Tsao, like the chicken.
Inappropriate free-form jazz in the soundtrack, intruding at the most unexpected times.
A secret cabal not unlike the Illuminati, run by an immortal shota with magic powers, holding influence all across the world, at the highest levels of government. They matter for approximately three episodes.
An unexpected insert scene of a schoolgirl using the corner of a table to masturbate. She's doing it to thoughts of her crush, the princess Euphemia—because she believes Euphemia to be as racist as she herself is, and that gets her off. This interrupts an unrelated scene of our protagonist faction planning their next move, which then resumes as if uninterrupted.
Said schoolgirl, in a fit of hysteria, threatens to detonate a worse-than-nuclear bomb in the middle of her school. She then goes on to develop an even more destructive version of that bomb, and become a war criminal, in a chain of cause-and-effect stemming from the moment she finds out that Euphemia wasn't actually that racist.
A character called "the Earl of Pudding."
A premise that asks us to believe that the name Lelouch is normal enough that he didn't need to change it when he went into hiding as an ordinary civilian. "No, that's not Prince Strimbleford von Vanquish! That's our classmate, Strimbleford Smith."
The collective unconscious, a la Carl Jung, within which the protagonist fights his villainous father for control over the fate of humankind. After this is over, the anime just keeps going for about ten more episodes.
An episode in which a mech tosses a giant pizza.
A gay yandere sleeper agent who can manipulate the perception of time.
Chess being played very badly, even to the untrained eye. Lelouch frequently checkmates his opponent by moving his king. This goes hand-in-hand with the anime's crock of bad chess symbolism.
A fictional drug that can most succinctly be described as "nostalgia heroin."
Roller-skating mecha in knightly armor, and some of the most sickass mecha fight choreography that I've seen.
I could go on and on, but I think you get the picture. This anime is what the average Westerner in 2006 thought anime was, and it was made in a confluence of factors that cannot be replicated. I've never had so much fun watching something that I found so... insulting. Repugnant. Ridiculous. Baffling. I love it sincerely.
Catch me cosplaying Lloyd Asplund at a con sometime, or maybe even the big gay loser himself, Lelouch vi Britannia.
