Chapter 1: Stuck

Y/N hated her life. dont get her wrong, she was thankful she was even alive during a world like this. but she would like it more if she wasn’t the daughter of Negan Smith.

see, she used to lover her father, genuinely. but after the apocalypse started, he changed right before her eyes, and she doesn’t even recognize him anymore. she can hardly even call him her father. her father didn’t kill people with no remorse. this wasn’t who she wanted to remember him as.

but, now she had no choice. this is who he changed into, and there was no bringing him back. this is the Negan she was stuck with. the one who she knows doesn’t love her anymore, all because she’s hated what he’s turned into.

Y/N doesn’t want any part in what he’s done, she never has. from the first person he’s ever killed, and the first one he’s made work for him, she’s never wanted this. she wished someone knew that, she wished someone could see it on her face. she didn’t want to be remembered as this.

she never understood why he was so shocked that she didn’t want any part in this. he wanted her to enjoy killing innocent people. how could you ever enjoy something like that?

it was obvious Negan wanted Y/N to become like him one day. but she’d rather be dead than to ever let that happen. seriously.

she didn’t even want to mention the bat. that god awful weapon she’s watched kill too many people. there was too many to count, she was numb to the sight. but the last two will stick with her forever, no matter how hard she tries forget. it will always keep her up at night.

she remembers their names. Glenn and Abraham. she remembers because the cries of their names from their loved ones haunted her every night. her father ruined their lives, and she was apart of it. she could never forget Glenn’s wife. that poor woman.

a day hasn’t gone by where she hasn’t thought about her, and her entire group. the boy, his father — Rick Grimes. that name was stuck at the edge of her tongue because of her father. because the night he murdered Glenn and Abraham, that group, and their town, now belonged to Negan.

Rick Grimes was their leader. well, he is their leader. she won’t let Negan take that title from him, she knows Rick is a better person than Negan could ever be. she hopes that one day Rick will maybe look into her eyes and see that. to see that she doesn’t want this for him and his group.

if Y/N was being honest, she was almost jealous of what they had, pre-Negan, of course. they had a community, neighborhoods. with friends and family, people who actually had love for each other. she could only dream of that.

Negan tore that apart the second his bat smashed into Abraham’s head. none of them would be the same, she didn’t understand why he found pleasure in that. 

Y/N accepted long ago that this would forever be her life. no amount of dreaming would change that. she was stuck, here, with Negan and the “Saviors”. god, she hated that name. Negan didn’t save them, nor have they saved anyone else. most of them were stuck just like her, or had succumbed to his bullshit and became almost as bad as him.

she prayed for a fucking miracle that one day she could get out of this. but as the days went by, her hope grew less and less.

BANG! BANG! BANG!

“hey, kid! get up. we’re gonna pay Rick a little visit.”

Chapter 6: Fight

Carl told me Alexandria is planning a final attack on The Sanctuary, i’m sure you already know though. and i’m sure you guys are now planning a counterattack. and you already know i moved to Hilltop with Maggie to help her take care of her baby. so i’m safe. but everyone else isn’t.

i know a fight is the last thing you wanted, you just want to be free and to have Negan killed. this could be it, this could be the day it happens.

Rick, Michonne, Carl, Daryl… they’re all still at Alexandria planning the attack, i need you to keep them safe. i know you will try, but i really need you to keep Negan away from them. you already know how important they are to Alexandria and Hilltop. they need to live. you need to live.

when it’s over, i’ll be in the woods behind Hilltop, waiting for you.

when Alexandria wins, i’ll come clean to everyone. i’ll tell them whats happening with you. and we’re going to get you out. i promise.

teardrops fell onto the letter, leaving small dots on it.

Enid was right, Y/N didn’t want a fight. although it was inevitable. that’s all they’ve been doing for the past year. she began to think it would never end, and they would be fighting until either Rick or Negan died, which seemed to be impossible at this point.

Y/N folded the letter and placed it in her back pocket. Enid left it buried in the dirt where they would usually meet. she stood up and brushed off her jeans before she made her way back to the Sanctuary. any minute now, they would be on their way to Alexandria to take their final blow.

when she made it back inside, Negan was gathered around with his men, who were all preparing their weapons. she froze at the sight in front of her. grenade launchers. Negan was going to blow the entire town up. how was Alexandria meant to win this? she prayed and prayed that Michonne and the others were prepared for what was going to come. she needed them to win. she wanted to be free.

“Y/N! ah, my beautiful daughter. come on, tell these guys what they need to hear, they need the motivation and the encouragement.”

the men went silent as they turned all of their attention on her. she took a deep breath and nodded.

“tonight,” she started, her words choked up as she forced these words out. “we destroy Alexandria, and we kill Rick Grimes.” she declared, earning claps and cheers from his men. “we’re going to destroy their homes, but leave Rick’s standing. to show him that he has no chance against us, and they will finally surrender.” more cheers erupted from them.

“i want you to be ruthless with these people, do not hold back, as they won’t either.” she told them, eyes scanning through all of the men. they nodded in agreement.

she didn’t feel like herself saying these things, it made her sick to her stomach to encourage these guys to attack the ones she needed to protect. she felt so disgusted with herself for uttering these words. none of them were true, she wasn’t sincere in any way. she wanted the complete opposite of what was about to happen.

“for you, sweetheart.” Negan smiled, and passed over a machine gun. she stared at it, emotionless. she felt drained of herself. what has she gotten herself into? “thanks, Dad..” she mumbled, flashing a forced smile over to him. Negan slid his hand across her shoulder, and she tensed up under his touch. “get in the car, sweetheart. we’re gonna load these into the trucks, and finally end this shit.”

her chest hurt the entire time she walked over to the truck and hopped in. she sat in the passenger seat, chest heaving up and down quickly. she felt sick, she she felt so sick. in one quick movement, she exited the car again and ran off to the side of the road, and choked up vomit. she continued to cough until she knew she was finally done.

“fuck.” she whispered to herself, closing her eyes as she tried to catch her breath. once she did, she slowly made her way back to the car, and leaned back into her seat. her stomach was still hurting, but she knew she probably emptied herself out completely moments ago, nerves were just really getting to her. she didn’t want to kill anyone, she had to find a way to fake it.

or maybe-

the drivers side door opened, and Negan sat down with a sigh. she looked at him through the corner of her eye. “what’s your plan?” she asked quietly. “my plan?” he laughed. “don’t act stupid here. you know what we’re doing. we’re blowing the place up and killing Rick at the end. you said that yourself.”

“i know.” she said, “i just- i wanted to make sure you know what you’re doing.” she told him. “are you doubting me, kid?” Negan asked, his voice raising in volume. “no! i’m just saying, Dad- you are constantly underestimating what these guys can do. i just hope you know that.”

Negan laughed again. “god, you’re so naive and dumb. they could have a thousand men and still wouldn’t be able to beat us, they have no chance against us now. not with these grenade launchers! so just- shut up and let me do what i need to do.”

Y/N didn’t respond and sat back in her seat, keeping her lips in a straight line.

Negan started to drive, and Y/N swore her heart was about to jump out of her chest, it was beating so fast it almost hurt. the sky was getting darker as the minutes passed, it would be fully dark by the time they arrive to Alexandria. and Negan would start the chaos.

she needed to think of something- anything.

when they arrived to Alexandria, it was dark outside. quiet. they were all waiting for what was to come. she prayed Alexandria knew what they were doing. she realized they would be going after her too, but maybe that’s good in her case.

it felt like a light bulb had lit up above her head.

Y/N could get in one of their lines of fire, but dodge it last second, and fall to the ground as if they had shot her. they would think they killed Negan’s daughter, and that’s part of the fight that they’ve won. Negan would think she’s dead. once they leave her body, she runs to find Enid in Hilltop. Enid comes clean about what she did and before anyone could tell her she’s dead, she shows up. and maybe just then, she could be free.

if Alexandra wins and Negan dies, she’s free. but if they don’t win, and Negan is still standing, he might start another fight just because of the “death” of his daughter, he would find out she’s alive and no longer on his side, and when he’s most vulnerable, they end him.

this could work, right?

“you ready, kid?” Negan asked, breaking Y/N out of her thoughts. she blinked once and turned her head towards him. “yeah.” she said quietly. “let’s do this.”

they both hopped out of the car and slammed their doors shut. when they made it to the gate, Negan raised Lucille and banged it against the gate 3 times. he then lifted up a megaphone to his mouth. “listen up!” he yelled through the megaphone, voice booming everywhere. she was sure this would attract walkers.

“you have three options! one, you all line up in front of your own homes, and Lucille will decide one if your fates. two, Rick Grimes can step forward and let me bash his head in, and you all can move on with your lives. or! we can just blow everything up with these grenade launchers we got! you have three minutes to decide, do not keep me waiting.”

this was terrible, truly an awful, awful idea. no matter which way this ended, it would leave people hurt, and traumatized by Negan’s doings. this would leave a scar no matter what happens.

a minute passed, and then she heard footsteps.

Carl Grimes stood above her, over the fence, looking down at her and Negan. he took a deep breath, eyes shifting between Negan and Y/N. she almost lost her grip on the machine gun Negan had handed her.

he exhaled, “kill me.” his voice was shaky as those words left his lips. he didn’t mean them, not one bit. “if there’s… some sort of punishment for this, take it on me. kill me.”

Negan looked at him with an unreadable expression. Y/N could only stare with her mouth halfway dropped open. she didn’t know what to do, or what to say. “you want to die?” Negan asked. there was no humor in his voice, for the first time in forever. his voice was low, and he was looking up at Carl with furrowed eyebrows.

“no.” Carl said, shaking his head. “but it’s going to happen- eventually.” tears pricked at Y/N’s eyes. he was only a kid, he shouldn’t have to think about the possibility of him dying one day. he should have decades to worry about that, not days, or weeks, months, or even a few years. she wanted to turn to her dad and stop this whole thing, but when Carl stepped away and he was no longer there, Negan already started working on destroying the gate.

he raised the megaphone again, “guess we’re going with option three!” he yelled, and one of his men behind her shot the grenade launcher. she watched as it landed on a house and blew up everything it had inside. she flinched, taking few steps back. then Negan’s men flew past her, and they ran inside the gate, firing at everything in their sight.

flames engulfed everything, smoke was filling the air. Negan was really destroying everything.

there was barely anyone in sight, so she hoped that they had managed to hide somewhere safe or make their way to Hilltop. where Enid was.

she needed to get through this, for Enid. god, all she wanted was to be free, no longer have to live in fear of what her father was capable of doing to her. she just wanted to live a somewhat normal life where she never had to see him again.

Y/N ran past the gate, coughing due to some of the smoke. she aimlessly shot the gun, making it seem like she was actually doing something so Negan wouldn’t notice. she ran across the blocks of burning houses, picking up items from the residents of Alexandria that were left behind. she hoped that if she made it to Hilltop, she could give them what they lost. something to remember their home by.

there was a necklace sitting on the burning grass, and a half burnt paper next to it. she stuffed the necklace into her pocket and flipped over the paper.

just survive somehow, it read.

she recognized the handwriting. Enid. she wrote this.

Y/N sat on the ground, and stared at it for a few moments. she repeated those three words in her head, and then leaned her head onto the paper. she inhaled and exhaled deeply, and folded the paper up and placed it in her pocket.

the sound of footsteps made her turn her head, and her eyes widened as she scrambled to get up. Daryl stood there, his crossbow aiming right at her. he shot the first arrow and it had just missed her, and she started running. another one landed right by her foot. the last arrow he shot glazed her arm by a millimeter, but she tripped and fell. she laid frozen, hoping he would think he killed her.

she stayed on the ground for a few seconds with her eyes squeezed shut. she opened one, and peeked around, no one was near. there was a slight pain in her arm from where Daryl’s arrow had glazed her, but it wasn’t anything she couldn’t handle. she stood up and ran to the other side of the fence and leaped onto it. she grabbed the top of it to pull herself up and and jumped back down.

“i have to tell you guys something.” Enid said quickly. Rick, Michonne, Carl, and everyone else had finally made it to Hilltop. “what is it, Enid?” Maggie asked. “i need you guys to just hear me out, okay? please, please don’t get mad.” she begged.

“Enid, what did you do?” Michonne asked. she took a deep breath, “i’ve been in contact with Negan’s daughter since he took over Alexandria.” she admitted, and watched as all of their faces changed. “you what?” Maggie’s voice raised significantly. “what the hell is wrong with you?”

“you don’t understand!” she shouted. “Y/N is trapped. and is being abused by Negan! she never wanted any of this!” Enid was quick to say everything. “and you just trusted her? just like that? Enid- she could’ve used you to get closer to us to feed Negan information!” Rick yelled at her.

“she didn’t!” she yelled back. “i’ve seen everything with my own eyes! Y/N is not safe with him! Rick, why else would she shove Negan off of you? she was trying to save you from getting killed, she’s on our side! and do you know what happened to her when she saved you? Negan hit her, and she had bruises all over her face. for trying to save you!”

Rick went silent, and they all looked at each other like they were silently communicating. “listen, i know i shouldn’t have kept it a secret for this long, but Negan could’ve killed her. you guys don’t know what she’s been through in that god awful place. he’s made her kill innocent people before, and he’s trying again today. we need to help her. because if Negan lives through this, she can help us kill him. for good this time. please.”

“Y/N is an amazing person, and all she wants is to be free from Negan and the Sanctuary. she wants to live like a normal teenager, just like me and Carl. she doesn’t want any of what he’s been doing. she deserves to live. she deserves to be surrounded by people who will actually care for her.”

the walkie on Rick’s jeans started to crack, as if someone was trying to speak through it. “Rick, do you hear me? it’s Daryl.” he unattached the walkie from his jeans and held it up to his mouth. “we’re here, what’s going on?”

“they’ve pretty much destroyed Alexandria. but, i shot Negan’s daughter with an arrow. she should be dead. i didn’t see her move.” everyone’s eyes turned to Enid, who’s mouth dropped open as sobs began to rack through her body. “Rick?” Daryl asked when there was no response. Maggie held onto Enid as she cried into her shoulder. “Daryl killed Y/N.” Rick whispered in disbelief.

“no, he didn’t.” a voice spoke behind them. Rick pulled out his gun and aimed it at them, and they willingly put their hands up above their head. Enid shot up at the familiar voice. “Y/N!” she cried out, and ran out of Maggie’s embrace and into Y/N’s. “you’re alive.” she cried in Y/N’s neck.

“i made it seem like Daryl got me. he fell for it too easily, i’m okay.” she whispered, putting her hand on the back of Enid’s head, she raked her fingers through her hair and inhaled Enid’s scent. “Negan’s still alive, and Alexandria is destroyed. i’m so sorry.”

Enid shook her head. “it’s okay, it’s okay.” she whispered and pulled away from her. “i need you to face Rick, now. he needs to know you’re not lying to us.” Y/N nodded and Enid slipped her hand in hers, and led her over to Rick and everyone else.

she lifted her head up, “Rick, i want to formally apologize for everything, and i also want to try and explain myself if you’ll let me. you can do whatever you want to me afterwards, but you need to let me talk.” he stood next to Michonne with his arms crossed, “i think Enid told me everything i need to know. and as long as we’re all on the same page here, you’re safe here.”

she looked between Rick, Michonne, Maggie and Carl, who all had very small smiles on their faces as they nodded in agreement. “thank you.” she whispered, tears now forming in her eyes. “but we need to prepare again for whatever can happen next. Negan thinks i’m dead. he’s going to come after you guys again soon.”

“we’ll think of a plan soon, okay? right now. we need to get everyone settled here and make sure everyone is safe. Daryl should be back soon, i’ll explain to him what happened.” Rick announced.

“Maggie.” Y/N called out, and Maggie turned towards her. “i need to apologize to you. and don’t- don’t cut me off. i’m haunted by what Negan did to Glenn- your husband. and i’m sure you are too. i’m so sorry i wasn’t able to stop him then. i’m so sorry. i will do anything for you, to make up for what my father did. i don’t care for how long, i just want to make this right. and i know there’s nothing to truly bring him back- but i will forever live with the guilt i have from that night.”

Maggie was silent for a moment, before she brought Y/N into an unexpected hug. “none of this was your fault, Y/N. absolutely none of it. please don’t blame yourself. you’re safe here with us, okay?” her southern accent brought comfort to Y/N and she melted into Maggie’s touch. “thank you.” she whispered.

she was back in Enid’s arms when Maggie had let go, they were like magnets. they could never be pulled apart, not anymore at least. Enid rested her head on Y/N’s and hummed softly. “i can’t believe you’re here with me.” she whispered. “with us, safe.” Y/N smiled and brushed her lips over Enid’s. “i found this when i was in Alexandria. i found a bunch of items, and took them with me incase i’m able to give them back to the ones who lost them in the process. but this one stuck out…”

Y/N unfolded the paper and showed it to Enid. “i wrote that months ago. i meant to give that to you before.” she whispered. “it helped me, Enid. you’re the only reason i’m here. i survived because of you.”

Enid connected their lips and Y/N immediately kissed back, holding onto Enid’s waist tightly. their lips moved together perfectly like puzzle pieces. they were meant to be in each others arms, to kiss each other for the rest of eternity.

“oh, honey.” Enid whispered, running over to your hunched figure that sat in front of the toilet. she began to massage your shoulders gently as you continued to empty yourself.

after a few minutes you pushed yourself away from the toilet and sat against the wall. Enid stood up, grabbing a small paper cup and a towel. she filled the cup and dampened the towel, and brought them back over to you. “drink this first.” she told you, and your shaky hands grabbed the cup of water and downed it all.

“okay, up you go, sweetheart.” Enid says, and takes your arm to pull you up gently. she leads you to your shared bed and lies you down, placing the towel on your head. the temperature made you jump before you relaxed at the feeling.

Enid poured, crawling into bed with you and softly caressing your cheek. “how are you feeling, love?” she asks. you groan, shielding your eyes from the light coming in from the window. “want me to shut them?” you nod and Enid does just that for you.

the room is now dark and Enid gets back into bed with you. “what else do you need, lovely?” she asks. “just you.” you manage to rasp out. Enid smiles and gently takes you into her arms. she hums a familiar tune as you grow more tired by the second.

it doesn’t take long for you to fall asleep, and Enid slowly moves so both of you were laying down. she leans down, kissing your nose, eyelids, both of your cheeks, and one final kiss on the head.

a Young Royals inspired Enid fic 💜

A/N: this is heavily inspired by the last episode of my favorite show, Young Royals. every character from that episode is still the same, except for Y/N and Enid, who replace Wilhelm and Simon for this. i hope you all enjoy, this was written a few months ago on a Google doc 💜.

she sat in the car, across from her dad and next to her mom. the King and Queen, and she was the princess. everyone was now leaving, or still saying goodbye to their friends.

she couldn’t believe Hillerska was closing, and it could be all her fault. but she didn’t do anything wrong, she confessed that it was her, kissing down Enid’s neck in that video. she told the truth. like what you’re supposed to do.

Kristina turned to her, red still surrounding her weak eyes. it was hard for Y/N to look at it, knowing her mother — the Queen was so weak now, partly because of her. her “scandal” with Enid… and her brother’s death. it all happened in a year, nothing could’ve prepared any of them for it.

“it was a rough year, wasn’t it?” her mom spoke, breaking out of her trance. all she could do was nod and look out the window, watching August jump and scream with Vincent and Nils. she bit her tongue.

a rough hand touched her shoulder, making her look back. her mother smiled softly as the edge of her fingers twirled through Y/N’s hair. “you’re going to be such an amazing Queen.” she spoke, and sorrow filled overcame Y/N. being Queen meant she would become someone that wasn’t herself. it meant she couldn’t be with Enid. her heart ached at the thought of it.

she couldn’t live- breathe without Enid.

she looked her mother right in the eye, her words almost getting caught in her throat. “what if i don’t want that?” she asked quietly, but sincerely. her father looked over at her, and now she was looking between the two of them. her mother sighed, “don’t do this right now-”

“i’m not trying to make you mad, mom.” she said back. “that’s the last thing i want. but… you have a hard time taking me seriously,” Kristina sucked a breath in and looked out of her window. “and i know its ’cause i’ve said it in frustration and was impulsive…” Y/N continued. “but you haven’t let me have an actual, honest conversation about this.”

Kristina nodded slightly. “i understand that you’re having doubts and mixed feelings.” she said, as if she was trying to brush it off once more. “it was the same for me. but… there must be a worse fate to be assigned than this one.” she says, looking back at her. Y/N narrowed her eyes, “that’s the problem. we were assigned this… we didn’t choose it. nobody has, and i see how it makes you feel.”

her mother then avoided eye contact by looking down, and her father only looked at her, emotionless. “i used to think Erik was happy, but i don’t think he was.”

“i understand that.. this thing with Enid has been life-changing for you-“ Y/N shook her head, “this isn’t about her. it’s not about Enid, Mom. it’s about this role. it’s always been this role that has been the problem. to me.”

“yeah.” Kristina says, barely audible.

“i know you think i’m gonna change my mind, but i won’t. i don’t want this.” Y/N turned to the window, gazing over at August. “if you believe in the monarchy…” she started, raising her finger. she then pointed at August through the window. “if you believe that it’s important to be born into the right family, that this is right… then that is your heir. not me.”

the King and Queen looked over at him, and she watched as her mother nodded once and looked down at her hands. slowly, her mother looked up at her. “and i understand that you’re disappointed… but it’s the truth.” she spoke honestly, her heart starting to race a little faster.

“can you open the doors?” she spoke to the driver, and seconds later the door opened. her eyes shifted between her mother and father, “i love you guys.” she said, before stepping out of the car, watching as the door slid back shut.

“let her go.” Kristina spoke when the driver turned around to face her with panicked eyes.

her eyes surfed the crowded yard of Hillerska. everyone was still saying goodbye to each other, and the graduates were all jumping around in the back of a truck with wine bottles spraying everywhere. her eyes stuck on August for a moment longer.

there was no sight of Enid. every direction her head turned, she couldn’t spot those green eyes anymore.

but then a familiar white car started to exit the school. Sara, Enid’s sister drove that car here today. Y/N remembers because she was hoping Enid was in that car with her when she saw it was Sara.

her legs moved faster than her thoughts and she began to run after the car. August caught her running past him, and his heart sank at the realization of what just happened, and what was about to happen to him.

Y/N ran down the road, faster than she ever thought she could run. this had to be some insane adrenaline rush that she would never experience again. “ENID!” she yelled, voice booming through the trees. “ENID!”

Enid’s head snapped up at the call of her name. it was muffled- but so loud. she turned around, eyes widening at the sight of Y/N running after the car. she turned back, and took a deep breath, trying to calm down the nervous ache growing in her stomach. “Sara.” she choked out, “stop the car!” Sara stepped on the breaks, her, Enid and Felice all being swung forward for a second at the sudden stop.

Felice looked into the mirror, “is that-”

Enid opened the door and walked out of the car, watching Y/N stop in her place and breath heavily. she was a bit of distance away, but Enid could still see her chest rising and falling at a fast pace. Y/N began walking towards Enid, and she met her in the middle.

“i don’t want to be Queen.” she spit out, tears lining her eyes. Enid’s eyes widened slightly. “i don’t want to be a princess. i want to be with you!” she cried, genuine desperation in her eyes. Enid could only stare at her, not knowing what to say. did she—

“i told my Mom.” Y/N said. there was another silent pause between them, and then a small smile curled through Y/N lips. “she’s fine with it.” Enid tried not to show her smile immediately. she shook her head slightly, “did- did you do it for my sake?”

Y/N then shook her head repeatedly, “no.” she smiled, “i did it for my own sake.”

they still stood there, Enid not knowing how to process any of this. “are you sure you’re over me?” Y/N asked hesitantly, afraid for Enid’s answer. Enid looked at her, no emotion on her face before her smile finally broke through her lips. “what the hell do you think?”

Y/N laughed and ran towards Enid, engulfing her in the tightest hug. Enid gripped Y/N’s school jacket, tears now pouring down her cheeks. her lips were parted open as she looked at Y/N with pure disbelief. Y/N’s eyes moved between both of Enid’s and then down to her lips. Enid desperately pulled their lips together, giving Y/N her all in this singular kiss.

every single weight was lifted off of Y/N’s shoulders in that moment. she was free. she was no longer the princess, and would no longer become the Queen to millions. she belonged to herself, and Enid now.

whooping and cheers came from behind them, causing them to break apart from each other. Felice and Sara clapped loudly, laughing at their blushing faces. “are you coming or what?” Sara asked with a laugh. Y/N leaned her head against Enid’s, staring straight into those green eyes she fell in love with. “yeah?” Enid whispered, a hopeful smile on her face. she nodded and Enid beamed, taking her hand and dragging her towards the car. they split ways as Enid got in the seat behind passenger, and Y/N smiled at Sara as she sat in the seat behind the drivers side.

Sara started the car again and all of the windows rolled down. when she started to drive, Y/N let out a loud “WOOOOO!” into the air. Enid, Felice and Sara all copied, all of them bursting into laughter afterwards. Enid slid over the seats and Y/N welcomed her into her arms. she hung her head out the window, the fresh air breeze never feeling so good.

Y/N stared blankly at the road in front of her. Negan had one hand on the steering wheel, the other resting on his bat. there was a subtle, but a visible evil smile on his lips. she had no idea what Negan had planned, the thought of it making her stomach churn.

she was dreading going to Alexandria, seeing everyone’s faces that were filled with nothing but misery and fear. and she was apart of that… she was someone those people feared. and she hated herself for it. Y/N was a terrible person, she knew it. this is what everyone knows her as.

she suddenly inhaled a deep breath when she felt her eyes sting. Negan briefly looked her way when he heard it, but she had wiped her eyes before he could notice.

for years, she’s held in her emotions, her cries. because he would somehow find out, and yell at her. he would scream in her face, saying that this is a good life for her, this is what she should want. she should be happy that he’s doing this to keep them alive. but after what she’s seen him do, how could she be happy?

now, she barely felt anything, and when she did, she knew how to keep them in. but after so long, she practically felt numb to everything. killing, blood, Negan’s shouting, it didn’t effect her anymore. she felt empty.

a rough hand landed on her shoulder, and her entire body tensed up under his touch. the truck slowed down, and she realized that they were now in front of the gates leading into Alexandria. “you know what to do when we get in there, right?”

there was no point in arguing right now, so she gave him a slow, weak nod. “take what i want, no hesitations.” he smiled and brushed his finger across her cheek. “good girl. come on.”

she and Negan hopped out of the car, meeting each other in the front of it as Negan’s men gathered behind them. “got your gun? it’s loaded?” Negan asked. she nodded and pulled it out of her back pocket, taking out the cartridge to show him it was fully loaded.

she wanted to lift it up to his head right then and there, and shoot the bullets right through him. but she didn’t. something inside her wouldn’t let her do it just yet. “good. let’s go.”

the gate opened immediately, and Negan smiled almost devilishly at the sight of Rick Grimes, and practically the entirety of his group behind him. she put her gun back in her pocket, keeping her hands by her side.

“what do you think you’re doing?” Rick asked, walking forward towards them. Negan signaled to his men with his hands, and they all started to walk past them, breaking into houses. “taking your shit, Rick. what does it look like?” Negan laughed. “Y/N, go do what i told you to do, while me and Rick have a little chat.”

Rick looked down at her, eyes furrowing at the sight of a girl that was barely older than his own son. she tried to avoid his gaze, “yes… Dad.” she said quietly, walking away from the two.

she walked down the street, eyeing everyone. Negan’s men casually walked into these people’s houses, coming out with entire mattresses and couches. what the actual fuck?

this wasn’t right, none of this was right. none of these people did anything to deserve this. she was completely and wholeheartedly on Rick’s side for killing Negan’s men. the less, the better.

“miss Y/N, is this acceptable?” she turned her head to the deep voice, arching her head up to meet eyes with the tall man. he held a few lamps, the man behind him had a whole recliner. she wanted to say no, and to scold them, but her father would’ve been furious. “yeah sure, whatever. just take it back to the truck.” she grumbled.

“just leave me alone.” she heard a girls voice. her head whipped around, eyes landing on a girl around her age. in front of the girl was one of Negan’s men, running his finger down her cheek. when she looked at the girl again, she didn’t know why, but unexplainable anger filled her body.

“HEY!” she shouted, making both the man and the girl jump. Y/N walked over to them and roughly grabbed the man by his ear, and in one swift movement, she pulled her gun out and pressed it to his head.

the girls eyes widened as this all unraveled in front of her.

“are you some sort of fucking freak?” she spit out as the man wailed in pain. “i’ll answer for you then, you’re a fucking freak, and a waste of space. you touch this girl again, and every single goddamn bullet in this gun will go right through your brain dead head. and no one will ever feel sorry for you. leave her the hell alone, do you understand me?” the man was cowering in fear, and after a few seconds, he nodded slowly.

Y/N put her gun away and let go of his ear. “go back to whatever car you came in, and stay there. if you even dare to try and come back i will kill you. go.” she stated, pushing him along as he walked.

she turned her attention back on the girl, who had… mesmerizing green eyes. they were full of fear, probably due to what had just happened. Y/N wanted to speak up and apologize, but her words were caught in her throat. her demeanor had changed completely in just a few seconds, and now she was too nervous to speak in front of this girl.

the girl was confused. confused as to why she was so quick to defend her, despite the fact that she was Negan’s daughter. she should’ve gone after her, not someone in her own group.

they both stared into each other’s eyes, lost in the pretty colors they held.

“Y/N!” Negan suddenly yelled, breaking both of them out of their trances. “we’re going home, come on.” she wanted to argue that that place wasn’t even close to a home. Y/N sighed and looked at the ground for a moment, then she took one more look at the girl, and walked away without a word still, leaving the girl shocked.

“you didn’t take anything.” Negan commented. her first thought was to say something that he would approve of. “none of them had things i liked, worthless.” she spoke, and Negan laughed as he pulled off of the street Alexandria was on. “that’s my girl.”

as they drove down the street, all of their cars stopped. his men started to take out everything they stole and threw it into one big pile on the side of the road. Negan then turned to dig through the back seat. he pulled out a can full of gasoline and a box of matches, “do the honors, sweetheart.”

“what? i thought we were taking this back to the Sanctuary. we’re burning them?” she asked, her voice rising in volume. Negan furrowed his eyebrows, “are you denying me, kid?” with the way his voice got lower, she moved back away. “no- no. i’ll do it.” she told him. his smile came back immediately and he handed her the gas and matches.

she stepped out of the car and stood in front of the big pile. with a deep breath, she poured the gasoline over everything, and then slid the stick across the box, watching as the flame attached itself to the stick. she threw it on top, watching the flame engulf everything in just one second.

she felt so evil. she felt sick.

Negan and his men laughed behind her, the flames reflecting in their eyes

“Enid? what’s wrong?” Carl came into her view, as she was still in shock on the street. she blinked as she came back to reality. Enid shook her head. “that girl… Negan’s daughter.” she started, not knowing what to say at first. “…what about her?” Carl asked.

“something’s wrong.” she whispered.
