hey does anybody who knows romhacking know if adding characters to a line when doing translations fucks up the text when it gets called for whatever reason?
because i'm testing my chops by turning a puzzle game i've had for 15 years into an esperanto version and "Quick Save Data found" turns into "Rapida Konservaj Datumoj trovitaj" and. it might just be me. but that's a LOT MORE CHARACTERS than "Quick Save Data found."
#rosie babbles#word nerd#3ds cfw#...tangentially#rom hack#the reason i'm testing my chops is because. i want to try translating that one chocobo game for DS that never released overseas#with google translate for myself if nothing else.#but until it gets here i may as well practice#and hey! english orthography uses more characters on average than japanese so MAY AS WELL WORK OUT THIS PROBLEM AHEAD OF TIME!

My name, I thought there was no way it would be in anything but a fire emblem rom hack, Becuase it's a common English name, But no, apparently I share my name with someone who was originally Anna's lover?
Which apparently means Anna wasn't a three houses original character???
anna is in literally every game except fe2 and fe15...

The Start of the Post-Modern Sonic Era
As time passes... Sonic Frontiers feels unreal to me. I still feel the psychic ripples that game made in the minds of thousands. Hearing about the physics nonstop. the buzzwords echoed in my brain for months... the rips at the English script-writing. It drove me to near madness. It was hard talking to people who weren't as deep in it as I was at that time... But I look back these days and I can't help but feel like the madness was exactly what I wanted. I can't make peace with this game like many others have, but I can't hate this game, I can't act like I'm indifferent to it. It did something to me that I can't dissect into a science. I don't feel like it's fair to try and categorize the feelings I have about it's writing into the set of ideals I've made for what I want these characters to be. I can't rule this one out... it broke the stagnant mold for me. An "Open-Zone" Sonic game with hyper-realistic environments, patch-worked with floating platforms and rails in the sky, janky camera movements and overtly flashy attacks for an unbalanced combat system, reused level design for one minute stages, hamfisted self-referential dialogue that had me groaning at points, a narrative that felt spread thin and disjointed, answering questions that didn't need answering. And it didn't even have Momentum. And yet... it is everything to me. AND NOW FOR THE CHILDHOOD HISTORY OF BLINGUS For the 20 years I've been alive, about 18 of those years I have spent with this deeply rooted attachment to Sonic. I was deeply fortunate as my cousin and my half-brother both had a Genesis with each of their own collection of games respectively, which of course, meant a lot of Sonic games. I was also gifted with having two brothers, who I dubbed as "the one with the GameCube" and "the one with the PS2". From age 2 (2006) to age 6 (2010), I had already created formative memories with the following: Sonic 1 Sonic 2 Sonic Underground Sonic 3D Blast Sonic Rush Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood Sonic Spinball Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine Sonic Heroes Sonic CD Sonic Adventure DX Sonic X Shadow The Hedgehog Sonic Rush Adventure Sonic Riders Sonic Unleashed Sonic Colors
These aren't even counting the games and shows I had learnt of online as a child who ABSOLUTELY shouldn't of been on the internet at such a young age but I digress. I just want to highlight the sheer amount of Sonic I took in in that time-frame. I think this chapter in my life planted the ideals that I hold to this very day, even throughout the madness. The problem is that... I don't even truly know what those ideals are. As I've grown I've played these games countless times, along with every game coming out after. I read the comics, I watched the shows, I got invested into the rom-hacking scene, and from there, the Fangame scene. My life changed and grew and my opinions of these games have shifted time and time and time again. Those roots never grew dry for me though, and I feel as if I owe my young self a lot for making memories with these games. Maybe it's a fear of losing innocence? It could be because I'm autistic as fuck? Maybe it's just love. Love for what these games represent for me, Love for what could've been. Loving it for what it is, what it was, loving it because people made it and that's all that matters. Loving to draw it, to find why others love it, and to open my mind to interpretation. Loving it to hate it, to write about it and talk to your friend's about it. To find out what made it tick, what's been lost over the years and how it's found again. Loving it because Super Sonic is raw as fuck and Shadow likes nu-metal hell yeah Oh yeah this was about Sonic Frontiers Well okay yeah the game is kinda mid but It's raw as hell and it's representation of growth and change is as prevalent in the narrative as it is in the eyes of the people. It made a ripple. Did Sonic Lost World make a ripple? Yes it did you fucking asshole
#blingus talks sonic#sonic frontiers#sth#i hope this shit makes sense LMAO#i fucking love you sonic#we're in the post modern era now

Now on sale - Rez on Game Players Vol.26 (Video Game magazine)(Hong Kong)(05/12/2001)
Translation in English:

DC (Dreamcast) November 22, 2001 SEGA / STG / 6800 Yen CD-ROM / 9 BLOCKS Corresponding to VGA BOX,Vibrator
Light, Shadow, Vibration A Psychedelic Journey with Electronic Music
The fun of "REZ" is really difficult to express in words, because it does not stimulate the player's brain thinking. On the contrary, the less the player's brain does not think, "REZ" will produce more pleasure. Just like the game's promotional phrase: "Feel it, don't think.", This is the attitude you should have when playing "REZ"
STORY OF REZ
In an overpopulated and unorganized network society, the network system has been unable to stop the ever-increasing cyber crimes. In order to solve the whole problem, humans created a new system center "PROJECT-K", and used artificial intelligence "eden" as the core of the system. Since the birth of "eden", the system is slowly approaching the stage of completion. However, after receiving too much information, "eden" began to have doubts about his own existence and actions, and fell into a state of coma… The player's purpose is to be realized after materialization. Look for "e d e n" in the computer space, and attack along the way (HACKING) the firewall (FIREWALL) that has been infected by viruses. Whether "eden" can be revived depends on the player's HACKING (shooting) ability…
SYSTEM
If we only describe the gameplay of "REZ", the author would say that it is a set of "PANZER DRAGOON" with "no ordinary bullets, only attack". What the player does in the game is basically to use CURSOR to aim at the enemy in front of it, and then press the X button to attack with LASER. Players can also press the real X button to LOCK ON up to several enemies at the same time, and then release the X button to launch a LASER to destroy all LOCK ON enemies at once. The bullets fired by the enemy can also be shot down with this method.
In addition to normal attacks, players also have a powerful kill attack "OVERDRIVE". Basically, players can regard it as the "bomb" of the shooting game. After using it, all enemies and bullets on the screen will be wiped out!
There are five sub-systems in the game, and each of them has 10 LAYERs. At the end of each LAYER, there is an object named "NETWORK OPENING". After destroying it, the player can enter the next LAYER. And when reaching the last LAYER, the FIREWALL (leader) of the sub-system will appear. Most of Firewall's attacks are very violent, and their endurance is extremely high. Players have to fight with them for more than three to five minutes at any time to destroy them.
LOCK ON Shoot after the enemy, the gameplay is simple and easy to understand
Use the best OVERDRIVE in the case of bullets flying across the screen
NETWORK OPENING will only open if you hit it several times.
Does such an aggressive FIREWALL exist in the computer world?
The relationship between music and shooting
The most important feature of REZ is the strong rhythmic electronic music that will be generated unconsciously while the player is shooting. There will be sound effects when the launch button is pressed, when LOCK is ON, when the LASER is fired, and when the enemy is eliminated. As long as the player knocks down the enemies efficiently, they can create their own music!
When attacking, players may also press the X button rhythmically to "beat the BEAT"!
"AirPlay REZ" mode
If the player mainly wants to enjoy the music of REZ without putting too much effort into shooting, you can use the "AirPlay REZ" mode provided by the game. The enemies in this mode will not shoot any bullets, and the player is also in an invincible state, which is best for practice.
Be the first to open! FIREWALL cheats method
Area 1 - The Earth
The first form of the boss is a sphere. Its outer wall can be shot through to expose the central part, and then concentrate on attacking its weak point (green circle). The head will then extend a large number of tentacles, and the tips of these tentacles will shoot bullets, but they should not be a threat to the player, and on the contrary, the tips of the tentacles are also another weakness of the head! When the player deducts the head's physical strength to about one-fifth, it will enter the second form, then a high-speed rotating circle will appear around it, but the player does not need to pay attention to it, just focus on attacking the green circle in the center of the weak point.
The outer walls of FIREWALL are destructible
Aim at the track where the tentacles move, and you can LOCK-ON all tentacles at once
Area 2 - The Mars
In the beginning, no matter how the player attacks, they cannot hurt the leader. The attack will not be effective until it is sucked into the body by the boss and the weak point (a small spaceship) is exposed. When the player is sucked into the eye for the second time, it will stretch out four to five tentacles, and the glowing tentacles will release a large number of bullets. At this time, the player had better shoot wildly at the tips of the tentacles in order to destroy them as soon as possible, otherwise Let three or four tentacles attack the player together, then the player can only use OVERDRIVE to break through. After passing this level, the weak point of the small spaceship will appear again, so don't hesitate to shoot at it! Its attack is very sparse, as long as the player keeps shooting, the enemy bomber will not hit you.
The initial attack of the boss is not a big one, but…….
The blows in the boss's body will become extremely dense, so you must make a quick decision!
Area 3 - The Venus
The appearance of this boss is like a fortress, and the player must destroy it layer by layer when attacking. The first thing to deal with is the outer turrets of the fortress, which will shoot a lot of LASER, and you will be injured if you touch them. However, as long as the player is careful, destroying the turrets before they get close should not pose a threat. In the second stage, the fortress releases a large number of fighter jets to attack the player. Due to the large number of enemies, the player should not use LOCK ON to deal with them. After passing this round of attacks, the player will enter the interior of the fortress. Since the center of the fortress is surrounded by outer walls, players cannot hurt it until it is opened. At this time, you should focus on attacking the red bullets outside the enemy and wait until the center is opened before concentrating your fire on it.
Keep firing at the fortress' fighter group!
The red bullets around the weak points of the fortress are not too much chance of hitting the player, but everyone should be careful
Area 4 - The Uranus
This boss is easier to deal with than you might think, basically it's made up of a hub (a glowing object) surrounded by a lot of cubes. Those cubes will constantly move at high speed and cover the central part. Players attacking the cube will not hurt the boss, but the cube after being attacked will become transparent and lose the function of the protective center. This is a good opportunity to attack. These cubes will change into other shapes during the battle, but the basic tactics are the same, plus the difficulty of the enemy, it just takes more time.
Players have to look forward and back when attacking this boss
The biggest weakness of the boss is its center, concentrate on attacking it
Area 5 - Eden
On the periphery of EDEN, there are layer after layer of defense systems. Although their attack methods are different, their structures are similar. Players only need to concentrate on attacking the light spots in the center to break them. Note that POWERUP ITEMs will be left after each defense system is eliminated, and players must obtain them immediately (or they will not be able to obtain them later).
After reaching the inside of EDEN, the player will face two high-speed rotating rings. Although the bullets they shoot will not be aimed at the player, everyone should be careful. When the ring is destroyed, the "top of the tower" below will be opened on the screen, exposing its weak point, and the player should concentrate their firepower to attack it. When the player deducts one-fifth of its energy, the "top of the tower" will be closed again, and the ring below will be revived and start attacking the player again. Afterwards, the player has to repeat the above steps five times to successfully rescue EDEN!
The outer defense system has four layers, and the light in the center is its point of weakness
After the top of the tower is opened, ignore the enemy's attack, just shoot at it in a row!
Added new mode after the explosion
beyond
After completing the game, "beyond mode" appears, in which there are three special modes, which will be slowly unlocked when certain conditions are achieved.
Direct assault Condition - Complete AREA 5
This is a mode in which five areas are played at one go. The difficulty level is the same as SCORE ATTACK mode. And the color of the game background can also be changed by the player.
LOST AREA Condition - Complete AREA 5/ Accumulated game time over 5 hours
Hidden. Although there is no boss, but the enemy's attack on the way is very fierce , the difficulty is not low.
TRANCEMISSION Condition - Get first place in LOST AREA
Players can shoot down any object on the screen as they like in FREE MODE. and if you play well, you may be able to achieve a more psychedelic effect than normal levels!

TW: Flashing, animal death, loud harsh sound
Dunno how many of my followers will actually be interested but this is a project near and dear to me that I’ve been working on for a little over a year now and it’s hit a pretty big milestone, that I’m proud of!
I’ve posted about it before maybe about a year ago when I started, but I’ve been working on an English translation patch for an obscure Japan-exclusive Super Nintendo JRPG called “Idea no Hi” (or, “Day of the Idea”), and recently I’ve gotten it to a point where the introductory cutscenes have been translated and I’m very happy with the results! There’s still a lot of work to do in general, and even this intro cutscene needs a lot of cleanup work still, but it’s the culmination of many hours of research and work and collaboration over the last year!
The actual translation of the text is being done by somebody else, but I’ve been doing all of the other hacking work, and it’s all available on my GitHub for anyone curious what it looks like to do projects like this. It’s my first ever ROM hack project and I’ve learned so much about a piece of hardware and a game that I’ve loved for a long time
Under the cut, I’ve added a short little write up describing the game itself a little bit!
Idea no Hi, or Day of the Idea, is a turn-based JRPG released for the Super Famicom in 1994. Set in an alternate near-future Earth where strange monsters have started roaming the lands along with other bizarre occurrences causing a slow decay of society and infrastructure, it stars a 14 year old Japanese boy named Kamekichi, who was abducted from his home after displaying psychic abilities. His parents seemingly killed by the researchers at a shadowy research institute, he spends the next 10 years of his life subjected to daily torture, in order to figure out the secret workings of his strange abilities. Until one day when everything goes wrong, he is finally able to escape his long captivity and reach the outside world. But not before hearing about the mysterious "Lady Idea" and finding that the data collected from his years of torment was faxed to another research institution on Easter Island. He sets out to find out just how exactly he's involved in all of this, and along the way meets a cast of unique characters who also have also had their own encounters with Lady Idea and her dangerous group
Gameplay-wise, Idea no Hi is a fairly typical JRPG for it's time, modeled after the Dragon Quest series, but with some unique mechanics not seen before or since. Rather than equipping weapons in battle, the player uses them like any other inventory item, meaning you can adapt strategies depending on what's being fought (although it can lead to inventory clutter). Rather than the usual equipment system of contemporary games, the player equips different articles of clothing in a "paper doll" like screen with large detailed sprites of each character showing each piece of clothing equipped (which can also alter the character's appearance on the overworld in some cases

@levemetal Hope you don't mind my bringing this out to its own post - I saw your tags and wanted to try to help!
So, ripping models is going to be a different process depending on how the game was made; what console it was on, what game engine its built in... There's no one-size-fits-all process, and it's going to require some baseline tech-savvy-ness.
But given that these tags were regarding Grima; I'll tell you more or less how I get models out of Fire Emblem Awakening.
A Ramble-y Overview of Fire Emblem Awakening Model Ripping:
Step 0: Gather your Tools
There's a lot of tools floating around intended to help with 3DS model ripping. Some are very pleasant to use and others are janky, so brace yourself.
For this, you will need:
Citra emulator (for extracting game files)
Paragon (for figuring out where models you want are)
FEAT (for decompressing game files)
SPICA (for exporting models + textures to usable formats)
Blender (for actually working with the models) (or whatever 3d modelling program you like; I only know blender though)
Step 1: Get a ROM of Awakening
Legally obtain one, of course. Assuming you have the game cartridge the 3DS hacking community can help you more with that. Definitely do not download any game roms from any online websites, why, that would be piracy!
Step 2: Extract the Game Files
Open up Citra, add a game directory and tell it where your rom is.
Right click the rom and select "Dump RomFS" to get Citra to start extracting all the game files. This will take a while. Wait for it to be done.
Once its done dumping the files, you're going to want to go to File > Open Citra folder. From there, navigate into "dump", then "romfs", then click the big nonsense folder name - that nonsense is Awakening's game ID, so, this folder is Awakening's game files.
All the models you could ever wish for are in here!!! We just need to actually find them now.
Step 3: Figure out which model(s) you want.
Time to go open up Paragon. This is technically a tool for creating mods of several fire emblem games, but we're not going to mod anything, we're just going to use it to figure out what models belong to which characters.
The github page has instructions on it, but basically you want to open up Paragon and start a new project for FE13. Create some random output folder for it and direct it to that, we don't care. But the "Extracted RomFS Directory" should be the citra folder I just told you how to get to.
Once you have the project open, there will be a lot of buttons and things. Don't worry about all this. The only two you care about right now are "Asset Definitions" and "Presets".
(Ignore the font; I changed paragon's font to awakening's font because i'm a nerd)
Most of the human characters are easiest to find in "Asset Definitions"; some under their english name, others (like Chrom) under their english base class' name.
Grima, though, you can find in "Presets" by searching for "boss".
This entry specifically is the one pertaining to grima's full body model. There's a lot of info here, but the highlighted panel on the right is the information you need; this is telling you the names of the files containing Grima's models and textures!
For human characters, typically the head and body fields will be filled in, and possibly the hair for characters with long hair. some have accessories, some don't.
This complexity is why we use paragon to check instead of checking every single model file manually like fools. (it's me, i'm fools)
Keep this window open for reference at the side for the next step.
Step 4: Go Get the Models
Make a folder somewhere on your computer to keep this character's models.
Then, go back to that Citra folder we opened up earlier.
Awakening's assets are split up into several folders. The folder you want is "b", which has most of the character and weapon models and textures. (This organization scheme is Not consistent between Awakening and the other 3DS fire emblems, watch out.)
In here, find the files paragon is telling you belong to this character, and copy them into your dedicated folder for this model ripping project.
Wow, look at all those files we can't use. Time to make them usable.
Step 5: Decompress the Files
Open up FEAT. Drag all those files onto the FEAT window. It will decompress them; there will be a copy of each file without the .lz file extension. You did it! They're decompressed!
Step 6: Extract the Models and Textures
Open up SPICA.
Click the little Folder button in the top left to open a file. Navigate to this folder you have your decompressed files in. Click on one of the decompressed files.
For MODELS, as in the .m files, you are going to click the Save button. Save each model as a .dae file, and give each a name that will make it clear which model this is - the body, the head, a specific accessory, whatever. (you can choose .smd instead if you want, but you will need a blender addon for importing smd files if you do.)
For TEXTURES, which are the .t files, there is an extra step. In the panel on the right, there is a small anime eye. That is the textures tab. Click on it, and the panel will change to a list of textures that are in that file. You should export all of them by using the special texture export button. DO NOT CHANGE THE NAMES the texture names are important.
Step 7: Blender Time
Tragically this is the most annoying part, and I can't even give you very detailed instructions off the top of my head because the exact steps are so tailored to each specific character.
Open up Blender. Go to File > Import > Collada (.dae) and import the character's component models one by one.
Each individual file will come with its own armature for posing! If you want to have a functional, posable model, you are going to have to join them together yourself. Normally this means taking a component armature, positioning it properly in relation to the body, parenting the component meshes to the body armature, joining the component armature to the body armature, and then taking whatever root bone the component had and setting it's parent bone to the right bone from the body armature. If you just joined a character's head on the body, take the root bone from the head armature and set its parent to the head bone from the body armature. Stuff like that.
Some of the weight painting may be broken, so when you pose joints on the armature some things will move incorrectly. I do not know how to get SPICA not to do that, and I haven't found any other 3DS model exporter that works with awakening that doesn't do that. Try exporting as an SMD instead. If neither dae format nor smd format works right, You're going to have to go in and re-do the broken weight painting manually. There is no shortcut to this. I am sorry.
You will also notice everymodel is split up into several meshes. If you need the character to be one singular manifold mesh, you're going to have to edit it to be that way yourself, in a way that does not destroy the UV maps. There is no shortcut to this. I am sorry.
Also: If it's Grima, be aware that their model is like 3000 blender units long. You will want to scale all their armatures down to 0.1 or something, because Blender does NOT play nice with stuff that big.
Anyway, textures.
In Awakening, a texture name ending in c0 is the base colours. A texture name ending in s0 is a specular map.
If the base colour file looks mostly transparent, that's because it's channel packed; the color and alpha channels contain two different textures. In Grima's case, the color channel is their actual colors, and the alpha channel appears to be an emission map.
So, go on into the shader editor, click on each mesh to open its material, and plug the textures into the right spots on basic shader node provided. Make sure to set the Alpha mode of the channel packed textures to say "Channel Packed". And you're good to go! You can see what the character looks like now!
If parts of textures should be transparent but aren't (like grima's eyes and wing feathers) you're going to have to figure out a solution for that yourself. I manually made my own alpha map for grima's eyes and wings, and it was Annoying but it was the only solution I could find.
Congratulations, you've done it!
You have successfully ripped a model from Awakening. Now go on and modify it however you need to; make better shaders for it, clean up the mesh and unwrap its UVs again for free plushie patterns, do silly posing shenanigans with it. Whatever your heart desires.
Good luck, dear reader, for you will probably need it.
#let me know if you ever make any plushies with this knowledge i'm so curious actually#fe awakening#i really ought to make a more comprehensive guide to this#it took me so long to compile these tools and methods from random forum posts from 7+ years ago and shit

Hello! I know you already reblogged an earlier post about London Holiday a few months ago, but I was wondering if you could perhaps give this new one a small signal boost for the sake of fandom awareness? It's news saying that the translation is finally 100% complete, AND that it no longer reeks of Google Translate. + it gives a working link to said translation, obviously.
https://lutiaslayton.tumblr.com/post/734155184801021952/professor-layton-and-the-london-holiday-transcript
Also, I know a few people who may or may not have been trying to make a rom hack of sorts in order to give us a way to play through it ourselves in English 👀 Now that there is an actually decent English translation for them to implement, who knows what the future has planned for our delightful fandom?
(also speaking of fan-translations, I've been translating the entirety of the Japan-exclusive Eternal Diva novel. Is it worth signal boosting that one too? Perhaps not, but who knows. Maybe just using this ask to say that it exists is enough hahaha)
Are you kidding Me I will absolutely reblog both of these, thank you for your work.

Note
u have any rom hacks recs? u seem to kno a lot haha
Ghmh yeah but like do note it's been a while since I last really played a rom hack, I'm not that updated w a lot of stuff anymore hahah
Anyways
For GBA
•Unbound (honestly the best imo really set the bar too damn high fr)
•Crown (this ones good if you're in to more typical rpg stuff like Fire Emblem or smth akin to Conquest, tho it's still in beta and you can only get the first "gym badge" it is a cool rom hack tho)
•Dark Worship (it's not fully translated in English but hey if you are or know Portuguese then you might like this one, it's dope ngl but also it's full of bugs so,, yeah hahah)
•Quetzal (haven't played this one, couldn't find a link to the latest version, but from what I heard it's cool since mons can follow you around)
•Emerald DX (basically just Emerald but w DS sprites and following pkmn, also w p/s split, I forgot if they added the Fairy type but I think they did, I'm adding this one bc I love Emerald and this one's a pretty solid rom hack hahah)
•Glazed (man I'm surprised this is still around ngl, but hey it's a classic, its solid, I don't remember getting that far in this rom hack ngl, but iirc I got to Johto, but didn't get to finish the game)
•Sors (this ones also dope, one thing I don't like abt it tho is that you can't change the MC's name or gender or customize him, and Lucario as an ace, I mean Lucario lovers would probs like this game but I just prefer Riolu)
•Saiph and Saiph 2 (haven't played these, but I think it's cool, Saiph 2 I did try tho and God fuckin love the sprites and the design of it, too bad it's unfinished but hey hahah)
•Sword and Shield GBA (if you want SwSh but w DS sprites, yeah. It's in Spanish tho, but there is an English translation if you want hahah)
For DS
•Blaze Black and Volt White (basically BW, but a bit better hahah)
•Blaze Black and Volt White 2 Redux (honestly the most definitive version of BW2 for me ngl, this is canon for me now hahaha no but fr it's pretty dope, a lot of changes and hey if you don't like the changes they still have one w/out em so it's a win win hahah)
•PMD: Explorers of Skies (pmd sky, but a bit harder, but also w more starters so hey hahah)
•PMD: Expanded Sky (this ones posted here on Tumblr, you can check here if you want, but yeah it's PMD but w starters from gen one to nine and a few more added so it's really cool!)
•PMD: Gates To Infinity Demake (GTI but in the DS, it's what we should've gotten, but hey this demake is still dope tho! But ah,, yeah still not finished but hey hahah)
•PMD: Future of Hope (I haven't finished this one but I really want to bc it's honestly dope af and it's kinda like a sequel to explorers)
•Conquest Ultimate (haven't tried this one too but low-key want to, says that it has mons to gen nine, and you can choose your own eeveelution at the start of the game rather than just sticking w Eevee)
#theres another one for ds i just forgot its name chdmnd#but hey you might find more on ducumon hahah#or on yt#but like ducumon best bet or pokeharbor hahah#these are just the ones that i think are dope af hahah#pokemon rom hacks#rom hacks#an ask and an answer#anon

Your Hobie hcs? /nf
Average crayfish enjoyer /silly
Favourite Pokémon game is Pokémon Ranger: Shadows of Almia. Fight me on this.
Probably hates the Dreary ROM Hack tbh.
Loves The Hunger Games, hates, hates the movies.
Was one of those pretentious ‘I know more about literature and metaphors than you(said to his English teacher)’ as a twelve-to-thirteen-year-old. Said he saw himself in the pigeons of Old York and would get a chance to spread his wings, too. And he did!
I think he had to unlearn the habit of acting “superior”(for lack of a better term) than others due to how much he did it as a child(against bullies and bully teachers, mostly)
His mom meant well, and he doesn't hold it against her, when she told him that “they’re only doing it because they're jealous of you” before she disappeared.
#ask#summer :)#hobie brown#autistic hobie brown#trans hobie brown#it isnt explicitly said here but. come on look at these hcs

to follow up, the switch port is japanese only, so you’d need to access the japanese shop to even get it. then, you’d need to hack your switch to install a patch to get the english translation. there is one thing that’s weird in the switch port, where there’s a side story that references another side story you won’t have gotten the chance to read unless you bypassed the lock on it, but that’s a minor issue. otherwise, if reading via the switch port, it’d be something to do after episode 8, in like, 2038 or something.
ok so i did a very cursory search on a Certain Website i use to obtain nintendo switch roms and it seems like the umineko switch port is obtainable from there. so in theory if i downloaded this and obtained the english patch and ran it through an emulator it would not be the most impossible (albeit at least a little legally sketchy) thing for me to use that method. i think i probably wouldn't check out the side stories until i finished episode 8 anyway unless people think there's merit to checking some of it out earlier so the weird side story thing wouldn't be an issue. like i said i don't know anything in this area so i'm very open to whatever people would suggest is best for me!
#endlesswords34#and the thought of me still reading umineko in 2038..............could you actually imagine
