@spoopkook also wanted to see this but I’m saving their ask for the other listed character :3 It’s a pretty shdjdks weak picture but I genuinely see him just the way he is in ISWM, with a few minor details under the cut to explain this-

I can see Engineer Mark being very proud of his education, coming from a small midwest town to going to a flight school/technical college that helped him get to work for the program sending this new generation to space! He’s a bit larger built compared to the other egos bc of his work physically building the ship and then the warpcore, lets his hair grow out a bit past the job’s standard, and likes wearing easy to move in clothes during his down time like the school sweater in the pic. Also the shsjsksk Mitski mug was supposed to be a nod to my captain, but I didn’t wanna draw my Actual mug so it looks silly- the dog tags are also a ref to his flight school days, though he and the captain would trade theirs ❤️

this is a weird thought but it's so very clear that the creepypasta "pokemon dead channel" was written by someone who grew up with the game.

pokemon channel is a very gimmicky niche game from 2003, and the story itself was written in 2010, so it's like a solid amount of time for the author to have gone from early childhood to jaded edgy teenager. they've said themselves that they were "young" when they wrote their creepypastas.

and then there's the little detail of their pikachu's name, brvr, which is "short for brother". the narrator jabs at it for being "nonsensical", but it's so authentically something a little kid would do. if it wasn't a name the author themself used as a kid, i bet it is still absolutely from a real experience.

it's the perfect combination of a weird-but-plausible phonetic spelling of a kid just learning to write and something that makes logical sense to a kid brain but isn't obvious to someone older. even adult authors rarely capture that vibe. and i find that fascinating.

Kenneth, my unluckiest Fallout OC at around age 17. He's assistant sound engineer at WDRN, Detroit. He's been reading manuals since he was little and certainly has the technical skills to be a full sound engineer even at that age, (but not the people skills.)

Kenneth is a sweet guy, but he has Opinions he Must Share. Last year at a radio convention, he tried to 'Well actually,' Kent Connoly(!) on which of the Unstoppables is the best ("The Inspector is a magician detective! She has magic spells to solve mysteries. That is objectively cooler than some guy from Boston who shoots bad guys with a submachine gun!") 🤦

I was thinking about how it's weird that I haven't done a horror medic OC yet (especially considering miette is based off of a costume I've worn at my haunt) and I just realized it would be very very fun to do one who has clear plating on her torso to show off her mechanics <3

So I finished Chapter 21, and I need you to understand how much you nailed Spirit's reintroduction.

Warriors is running to stop Cia and Lana when the train shows up, and I'm in awe, because of course! A big moment like this needs a big entrance! I'm on the edge of my seat, holding my breath right along with Warriors.

Then the engineer gets off.

He doesn't ask questions. He doesn't need to. He tells Lana to get off the track, says, "nope, not this bullshit again," and starts blasting, and I start losing my shit. I lose it again when I try to explain what's going on to my husband and he says, "Link has a gun?!"

I keep reading, and the amusement dips straight back into suspense, and into a moment that I didn't realize I needed: that beautiful, tearful reunion between Time and Spirit.

The fact that you manage to string these moods together so seamlessly is part of what makes this story so great.

I'm usually kind of sad when a new chapter is over, but not today. Because the image of this poor man minding his business, riding his train through New Hyrule, just to have to get off and start brandishing his gun in the fucking Temple of Souls has been sending me all evening. Thank you <3
